Elsa + Queen Disa VS Elsa + Honeymaren
A conversation about this before it turns into a discussion beyond what I'm seeing in my social circle.
The look of Queen Disa from the "Frozen Podcast" was recently revealed, and due to her interaction with Elsa in it, a new shipp is being born in the Frozen fandom: Elsa + Queen Disa.
I haven't watched the entire podcast yet, but I've seen some analyzes and in fact Elsa and Disa have a lot of interesting scenes: they start off having problems with each other because of their thoughts about magic and technology, they eventually end up helping each other (especially Disa helps Elsa), and in the end they really become friends, promising a new moment for them to meet. It's almost like "enemies to lovers".
And because Elsa + Honeymaren is the current shipp, it is obviously leading to a certain principle of rivalry. And a lot of people jumped on the theory that Elsa is a lesbian because of Elsa + Honeymaren, and now we have a new girl to steal some of the spotlight.
I went through this myself in "Frozen 2" with the appearance of Elsa + Honeymaren to the detriment of Elsa + Marisol. As I said before, I had certain problems with "Frozen 2" at the beginning: I hated the separation of the sisters and that Marisol was technically replaced by Honeymaren. It took me a while to understand "Frozen 2" and accept ElsaMaren, and especially to understand that Honeymaren is the mainstream version of Marisol, the version that Disney could take to the cinema.
And so today we have an absence of the Northuldra tribe in material that precisely addresses the Enchanted Forest, and in Honeymaren's place we have Queen Disa who is appearing on the "Frozen Podcast" alongside her sisters.
A few days ago I made a post talking about the possibility that in “Frozen 3” instead of having an approximation of Elsa with Honeymaren, there would be an approximation of Elsa with an original woman, a more mainstream character and free for Disney to use in merchandising. And therefore be different from a woman linked to a tribe that exists in real life and that perhaps has some control over her image, as is perhaps the case with Honeymaren. And now we have Queen Disa.
I really don't believe that Queen Disa is in "Frozen 3", although a podcast released close to the franchise's anniversary is more mainstream than a book or a comic, I still don't think it's relevant enough to be the gateway to a character that it will be in a film... but I could be wrong, I never rule anything out.
But unlike my initial problem with Honeymaren, I don't intend to create any resistance to the possibility of a new woman for Elsa. As long as it's a woman I have no problem.
And one last text about Elsa + Queen Disa vs Elsa + Honeymaren. Queen Disa and Honeymaren are almost opposites:
Disa seems to be much more extroverted while Honeymaren has already demonstrated that she has some problems speaking in public (Disney Magic Kingdoms).
Disa is a book girl, Honeymaren is a warrior.
Disa is knowledgeable in technology while Honeymaren has some knowledge in magic.
Disa is the girl of the city and modernity while Honeymaren is the girl of the forest and traditions.
Whether it was a coincidence or not, I found this interesting, and it's really easy to see Elsa pairing up with the two women: friendship beginning until an eventual romance.

A woman who combines spanish with arabic (Marisol), an indigenous woman (Honeymaren) and a black woman (Disa). I like that the possibilities for romance and the shipps that involve Elsa with women are always varied compared to the generic white male standard that those who shipp her with men support.
Wow Elsa, how come Disney lets you have three girlfriends?

Elsa and Honeymaren (?)
(I find this name too long, wasn’t only Maren good enough? Anyway...)
I know I know, the ship bar is REALLY high and we can’t stand it. Even if we ship Elsa with Anna, or Marisol... I mean, there will finally be a canon female character who interacts with Elsa. And WHAT an interaction!
They could let Elsa staying with the young boy, or maybe the both of them... no. They decided to let her be with the girl. Alone. Only the two of them. Sitting by the fire. At night. Sitting next to each other. Letting the girl touching Idina’s shawl. The shawl of Elsa’s mother.
This could mean nothing... but for me, it’s a big subtext. Jennifer Lee knew very well that the #giveelsaagirlfriend campaign was extremely successful, and maybe they couldn’t show a whole gay scene because of reasons, and because this is Elsa’s journey to find herself. But I’m sure they give us a little sweetener, to satisfy everyone’s mouth: who didn’t want Elsa with a girlfriend, and who wanted it.

@ the frozen fandom i need everyone to know that in the official book “a warm welcome”, the third book in the anna & elsa: sisterhood is the strongest magic series, elsa and anna go to another kingdom called eldora because olaf told them that the queen there, marisol, has fire and heat powers that caused an eternal summer. elsa gets super excited to meet someone else with magic like her but then it turns out marisol is just a normal queen and eldora naturally has tropical weather year round. but elsa still 1000% has a crush on her and they’re so cute:
elsa can’t stop thinking about marisol the entire way to eldora. she describes marisol herself and her name both as beautiful. they become incredibly fast friends and admire and appreciate each other. they hold hands and hug constantly. they make each other happy, say they’re going to miss each other, and promise to meet again as soon as possible. i love them.
marisol is only in a few pages of this one children’s book from 2015 so i’m not surprised people don’t know about her but she and elsa are so cute together! i’ve never seen anybody talk about marisol/elsa (marelsa? marielsa? elsasol? mariselsa??? idk if they have a name but i’m going with mariselsa) and i get why, but... it’s so cute. everybody wants elsa to have a fire girlfriend and i say it should be marisol because they’re soft and in love. she may not have real fire powers but she’s elsa’s fire gf in my heart.
#disney#frozen#elsa#marisol#mariselsa#queen elsa#queen marisol#she’s also clearly a woc so#disney put marisol in frozen 2!!#make them canon and give us the interracial wlw we deserve!#and as a side note: this entire book series in general is adorable and people should read it#my posts

About Oaken I think he suffered a retcon in his sexual orientation. I already found an interview with Jennifer Lee, the director, being asked if Oaken was gay and saying yes without saying yes, a similar answer to what they said about the girls in “Finding Dory”.
But then came the Frozenverse... Yes, LGBT characters were confirmed in the franchise (it's in the post pinned to my profile), but Oaken wasn't one of them yet. His family was shown several times, but none of them showed that Oaken was specifically close to anyone and thinking about Jennifer Lee's response, I really think that scene in F1 was of Oaken with her husband and children, but the executives saw that the character became popular (after Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, Oaken is the character that has the most marketing in the franchise) so they decided to change that and today his family must have around 15 members and no sign of romance for Oaken.
Elsa's moments with women that if they were her with a man people would have no doubts about the romantic atmosphere of the scene... This could really become a post because ironically there is a lot of content about it.
The three most popular:
. Elsa and Summer Queen Marisol in the book "A Warm Welcome": this became so popular that because of the way she reacted to Marisol, #GiveElsaAGirlfriend was born.
. Elsa and Honeymaren in "Frozen 2": the biggest proof of the lesbian atmosphere of the scene was that I even found one of ElsaMaren's haters admitting that this scene was created with a romantic air. Normally haters despise this scene, so finding one of them admitting that he doesn't like this scene because he saw an air of romance made me open up a smile.
. Elsa and Disa on the podcast: for me it was almost explicit. The whole air of provocation and tension between the two women in almost an "enemies to lovers" arc. When they start to get closer and promise to see each other before Elsa goes back to the forest. The final moments of the podcast where Disa invites Elsa to have tea and talk about queenly matters, but the whole air of the scene and the way the two women react seems like they were really setting up a romantic date. And above all how Anna reacts to the possibility of Elsa and Disa getting closer, Anna didn't act like a sister wanting her sister to have a new friend, she acted like a cupid wanting the couple to be together. Not ironically, Elsa and Disa had more moments that hinted at romance than Anna and Kristoff had on the podcast.
I’m back on Tumblr, so it’s time to talk about GAY FROZEN! The movie is gay. All of it.
Okay, not all of it. But a lot of it!
Daily reminder as I yeet myself back onto Tumblr that Elsa is freaking gay okay? That’s how we’re gonna start this and the main thesis of this bullcrap will be Elsa’s obvious gayness.
I’m sorry, but in this scene (only moments before Elsa is shown talking to Honeymaren while holding her hand and gazing at her face) there is clearly some gay stuff going on. Note the absolute HOPEFULNESS on Honey’s face when she looks at Elsa and says “you belong here, you know?” in an extra hopeful tone? And the way Elsa actually does stay there with her?!
And earlier in the movie when they’re talking to each other it looks just like that scene from Tangled where Rapunzel is talking to Eugene! If it was a girl or boy the calm and wholesome way they talk to each other while maintaining steady eye contact and all that wholesome stuff would be read as a romantic connection, yet here it’s just shrugged off by the people who watched it as friendship. Yes, it could be that, but it also could be more and y’all aren’t even willing to suggest that alternative simply because they’re both girls.
Let’s talk about Oaken! He’s gay and has a husband and kids, and it’s clearly seen in the first movie.
Yes, I’m aware the tall girl with brown hair could be his (snore) wife. But all the kids honestly look more like the possible mother other than the blonde hunk, so it doesn’t make too much sense. If that woman was the wife and mother, why does she look just like all her kids except one, and the one doesn’t even look like her or Oaken? It would make much more sense if the blonde guy, who looks older anyway, was his husband and the kids were adopted. Yes, realistic genes usually don’t mean much in animated films, but then why are Elsa and Anna and their family designed to look related? And Honeymaren and Ryder from Frozen 2 look related as well. So yeah.
BACK TO ELSA! So, you see, if Oaken is gay, it would be perfectly reasonable for her to be given if this is true the franchise has tackled gay characters before. A gay Disney Princess would be awesome and given the first two movies showcased Elsa’s own personal journey and journey to mend her relationship with her sisters, a third movie could in turn have her beginning a romantic relationship with someone who very well may be a woman, and very may well be Honeymaren given the way they behave in the second movie. It seems to me like the Frozen 2 interactions are like Raya and Namaari from Raya and the Last Dragon— homoerotically toned friendships that seem to all but outright say that the two characters are gay. Except with Honeymaren and Elsa their friendship is shown a lot less given the movie is about Elsa’s self discovery. Unless, you know, Frozen 2 is merely setting up the building blocks for them to get in a relationship later. A girl can dream.
Did any of that make sense? I hope so. Because come on, Disney. A lot of people don’t like you know and some of your actions have gone to crap, but you can at least try to fix things by ceasing to support genocide and just maybe hearing us out and giving us a gay Disney Princess— hopefully Elsa, because that girl is gay-coded as all hell.

Making A Guest Feel Welcome
A/N: In response to a question about how Ingrid would feel about having Marisol or Blue Dress Lady as a rival. Went a smidge longer than expected. @ahallister
Anna was surprised to find Marisol in the royal library. It was a beautiful, sunny day -- not nearly as sunny as Eldora, of course -- and she thought Marisol would want more than the shafts of light illuminating the dust motes in the air.
Marisol's dark eyes crinkled as she raised them from the book of recent Arendelle history she'd been reading. "Princess Anna! I'm so glad you're here. I'd been meaning to talk with you."
"Oh, just 'Anna', please, Your Majesty." She pulled up a hard-backed chair to face the armchair Marisol was curled up in.
"Then I must be 'just Marisol' to you."
"Of course." Anna leaned forward, her elbows on her knees. "So, what's up?" To Marisol's blank look she expanded, "What is it you wanted to talk to me about?"
Instead of answering, Marisol closed her book, set it aside, then fiddled with one of the tiny mirrors on the sleeve of her garment. At last she looked up again and said, "Anna? I have a question I'd prefer not to ask. It may give offence. I am a stranger to your ways."
"What is it?" Anna gently asked.
"Do the... Do the people of Arendelle keep slaves?"
"WHAT?" Anna sat bolt upright. "What happened? Was someone being mistreated? Was someone being hurt? Who did this? Where did this happen? Because I swear to God -- oh, the answer's no, by the way -- I swear to God if anything --"
"No, nothing like that!" interposed Marisol.
Anna sighed with relief. "Oh, thank God."
"Yes, praise be upon Him."
"But why do you ask?"
“There’s a woman who attends on Elsa. A servant, but not a servant. More familiar, but more subservient. She’s… I don’t speak enough Arendellan to say any better.”
Anna pondered. “Straight black hair? Very quiet?”
“Yes, I suppose.”
Anna laughed with relief. “Oh, that’s Ingrid.”
“And what is she to Elsa?”
“Well…” Anna shrugged. “Officially she’s Elsa’s amanuensis.”
“That is a Greek word?” asked Marisol. Anna nodded. “She is a… secretary?”
“And assistant, and lady’s maid, and whatever. Basically, she’s Elsa’s right hand.”
“Well, she wouldn’t want to be her left hand,” said Marisol, laughing.
Anna chuckled, then said, “I don’t get it.”
“It doesn’t matter.” Marisol thought for a moment. “You said ‘officially’?”
“She and Elsa are friends. Have been, for a while.”
“Good friends?”
“Mm-hm.”
“Very good friends?”
“... yeah… “
Marisol’s nut-brown eyes met Anna’s sea-coloured ones.
“Good friends the way Elsa and I are becoming good friends?”
“... yyyyyyeah… “ conceded Anna.
Marisol looked down, then up at Anna again, her brows slightly furrowed. “Then she is a rival.”
“You know what? I’m gonna say ‘no’ to that,” said Anna.
Marisol tilted her head. “Did they have a falling out? They seem comfortable with each other.”
Anna waved her hands. “No, nothing like that.” She leaned back in her chair. “Ingrid is… different.”
“I should imagine so, to win Elsa’s affection.”
“No, differently different. She’s…” Anna gathered her thoughts. “She doesn’t get jealous like that. Ingrid is 110% devoted to Elsa.”
Marisol pursed her lips. “I thought you couldn’t have more than one-hundred per cent.”
“Then she’s borrowing the extra ten percent from somewhere. Anyway, all she wants is to have the best for Elsa. So if she thinks Elsa will be happier with a beautiful, exotic, gracious queen than a… than an Ingrid, she’ll want Elsa to be with you, not with her. I mean, a queen is a much more appropriate match for Elsa than a servant, or her sis-- or anyone else inappropriate.”
Marisol tilted her head again. Gosh, that’s cute, thought Anna. “She won’t object?” asked Marisol.
“She’d probably help. In fact, you should ask her what stuff Elsa likes.”
Marisol’s eyes widened. “You mean, what Elsa likes to… do? And have done?”
Anna blushed. “I meant like what chocolates and flowers she likes, and stuff.” She thought. “Come to think of it… oh, never mind.”
“Excellent.”
“Although… “
“Although what?” asked Marisol.
“As long as Ingrid believes you’re good for Elsa, and make her happy, she’ll be behind you one-hundred and ten… she’ll be behind you completely. But if she thinks you make Elsa unhappy, or that you’re bad for her… “ Anna trailed off, fiddling with her fingers.
“She’ll do what?”
“Honestly, I don’t know. But sometimes Ingrid can be, you know, intense.”
“Intense?”
Anna raised an eyebrow. “Intense.”
Marisol nodded. “You think she’d be protective.”
“I know it. I have no idea what she’d do, but she’d do it.”
Marisol chuckled uneasily. “I would’ve thought it would be the sister’s place to be protective and suspicious.”
“What, me?” Anna smiled. “I’m just Anna. I’m not subtle and clever like Elsa, or quiet and patient like Ingrid. I bumble along, trying to do the right thing and not knock stuff over. Folks say I can be naive, and I can’t really argue with that. I just figure you’re a nice person, and you and Elsa look happy together, and I don’t have to worry about you doing anything to hurt my sister.”
Marisol smiled with relief.
Anna smiled back. “Of course,” she added, “if I did figure someone was hurting my sister, I’d fucking end them.”
Marisol was not familiar with the idiom, but she believed she understood it from context.

A headcanon that I sometimes forget isn't canon: Marisol is Elsa's ex-girlfriend. I'm making a fanfic about the "Frozen Podcast" talking about Elsa going to visit the Northuldras after all the confusion with the automatons, and the Snow Queen's promised meeting with the Queen of Sankerhus to have tea and talk about queenly matters. In my version Elsa and Marisol actually had a romantic relationship in the past, and during the fanfic Elsa often compares Marisol with Disa and Honeymaren.
Marisol was basically responsible for popularizing the theory of Elsa being a lesbian, and was the reason I joined the franchise. So abandoning MarisElsa is really difficult, so much so that I already started to discredit Honeymaren when I realized that she is Marisol's replacement.
I don't think this headcanon will be canon in "Frozen 3" or in the extra materials, mainly because of some things that happened: the name of Eldora, Marisol's kingdom, being changed in an official adaptation of part of "A Warm Welcome"; the creation of Princess Adelaide and what Elsa's official reunion with Marisol was like after the book. But it's still a great headcanon and considering how Elsa reacted to Disa's words in the podcast and what the Snow Queen said in "Polar Nights" I still find it hard to believe that she's inexperienced in romance.
But I still wish that during a conversation between Elsa and Honeymaren in the F3 novelization she said that she had an ex-girlfriend who was also a queen, but I doubt that will happen.

(These replies are making a monstrosity themselves.) Tagging @insectoid5, @frozenartscapes, @ultranos, @kalikoke, @hathor-frozen, @myfanfictiongarden, @mighty-meerkat, et al.
EDIT: (And again, I spawn another monstrosity. *sigh*)
@frozenartscapes reblogged your post and added: Don’t forget, I also brought in Yama and his cronies from Big Hero 6 (source). So there’s also the possibility of dragging gang activity into this as well.
(Also I now officially headcanon that all the recruiters for the Org are named Joe. Not as fake names, but real names. It gets confusing really quickly. It also doesn’t help because of Family Guy, but I also picture all of them voiced by Patrick Warburton.)
Don’t worry, @frozenartscapes, I didn’t forget Yama. I mentioned them in “DA!prompt #3” with the same source. You should’ve got a notification, but I mis-typed everyone’s “@”, so it didn’t send. :( Also, I really like the idea the male recruiters all sound like Kronk (That’s who I asssociate Patrick with; I never watched Family Guy.) More stuff below.
@myfanfictiongarden reblogged your post and added: […] Anyway, I see @chooseandact that you wrote quite a few characters down. While it would be fun to see all the HoND crew interact with Judge Frollo and our Frozen gang, add some BH6 and spy Rapunzel…. I´m for keeping things small. You can only devote so much time to one character, but with more then 8? Each of them has their own storyline etc. etc. it could be too much.
What I am with is a good funny spy-fic, with DA!Verse Elsa on a mission, Kristof, Tadahi and Anna along making things crazyer [sic], D standing somewhere, and the all evil trio Weaselton-Hans-Frollo (Frollo is such a bad guy even Hans can learn more from him-wait, is Frollo still a judge in DA!Verse? I hope so)
I hope, I could help and we could bring this baby to live :)
From one DA!rookie to another: Welcome to the club! I know I listed many characters, but that doesn’t mean we have to use everyone. They’re just some of the many people available to use in the background. Like I said, I thought adding HoND and the others strained disbelief. However, I think we can benefit by keeping just Judge Frollo and Phoebus, even if they make brief appearances:
With Frollo, we get a sense of some of the legal system’s failures (If any of us knows some basic legal stuff, it could help, but no need to go overboard [says the one who scoured the DA!depths for sources!]. If not, we can use Wikipedia or TV courts, e.g. any CSI, any Law & Order, etc.). Elsa has noticed most of the goons she sees are almost always the same people from Yama’s gang, even after honest cops have picked them up. She has suspicions but cannot act on them because of Org work.
With Phoebus, we get laughs as Sgt. Wesel tries to explain his theories to his superior, only for Phoebus to brush him off as (1) the force’s resident paranoiac, and (2) a Living Legend in the bad sense – from Phoebus’ POV, Wesel has been out of touch with reality for a while (we readers know he’s more right than he could ever imagine), but he can’t be dismissed from the force because he did Great Things in his past (and won’t let you forget it, to everyone’s ire) and has employment seniority, so he’s protected even more the local cop union. And we get a trio of good cops (Kristoff, Tadashi, and Phoebus) who sometimes simply meet just to talk, which counters your Evil Trio of Hans, Wesel and Frollo.
@mighty-meerkat reblogged your post and added: […] It’s been so long since I wrote any Mariselsa, but I kind of want Marisol at the party as well in some capacity. Maybe she’s on a separate search-and-destroy-information mission for a different handler, which immediately puts a massive spanner in Elsa’s works, because Marisol is…not very good at damage control. If she’s trying to set the place on fire, Elsa’s attempts at discretion are literally going to go up in smoke.
I like that idea! Here’s some more fic welding then: Hans is both terrified and furious at Elsa’s threat, as linked previously. He attends the gang boss’ party, as do Our Heroes, Marisol, Rapunzel (on loan from the German Org as a Field Test), Wesel, and Frollo (and Wesel’s two thugs, but as background only). Marisol has her own mission, which indeed counters Elsa’s goal and sets the building ablaze. Everyone escapes: Marisol goes her way, Elsa tracks the female target I mentioned in DA!prompt #3 (she can be the high-profile target or someone else in the hierarchy), and the rest of Our Heroes return to the Arendelle’s and await Elsa’s return. Everything unfolds as explained in DA!prompt #3, which ends in a fight that wounds Elsa, kicking off the beginning of @frozenartscapes’ fic Call for Help.
@insectoid5 reblogged your post and added: I commend you for thinking this through so thoroughly! That’s the sort of thing I don’t have the energy to do, usually […]
I love your idea of adding spy!Rapunzel, and we may as well add Cassandra (from Tangled: The Series), because I can totally see her fitting in at the Org. I can totally see Elsa being a spy, given her usual stealthy missions. Which will last up to the point where she falls out of a tree and spooks the person she’s watching. 😅
Maybe the Org has some kind of vocational cover story for banks and tax people. Like, I dunno… life insurance. 😂 (I volunteer @frozenartscapes to come up with a better one.)
[…] Also: every recruiter is named Joe: perfect! (Though how their superiors will know if all the Joes are doing a good job, if they don’t have some way of telling them apart, e.g., “tall Joe”, “short Joe”…). If a small, obscure Frozen ship can have an archivist/historian, I don’t see why this AU shouldn’t have one. You’re nominated! 😄
Why thank you! And it all started from a dress pic… In the words of Gord Bamford: “It ain’t your eyes, your lips, your nose, your hips / That got me in this mess / Blame it on that red dress” (If you didn’t notice, I think Anna’s dress/fan should keep the style but be fire-engine red bc red hair & all)
re: “Joes”: I was inspired by a scene in the Transformers 3 novel, where 3 secret agents appear. They dress the same and are not related despite all 3 being referred to only as “Johnson”, yet you still can tell who’s talking. The Org’s “Joes” are similar: they don’t need identifiers, even though “their appearance [has] been carefully conceived to leave no lasting impression on anyone who might see them.” (TF book) When someone calls for “Joe”, somehow they just know which one is needed. No one knows how or why. Elsa is unnerved and D is disturbed, even though he hired them. Anna tries to make the obligatory “take your average Joe” joke, but Elsa stops her preemptively, saying an unknown Org person did that the day after Elsa joined. Org rumor has it they were never seen again. The next day, all the Joes arrived 10 min. late with flecks of mud on their Men in Black-style suit pants’ cuffs, and Every. Single. File. with the person’s name (the digital/physical ones backed-up in triplicate, database, weapons logs, bank info, etc.) had the name wiped. Not black censor bar. Wiped. Eventually, they faded from collective memory and exist only as a rumor from senior Agents to rookies.
On the topic of the missing Org person, I found two more Org members: an unnamed duo who reviewed Elsa’s test scores and assigned her to “wetwork specialist” (from the same source as Chamomile Tea “Joe”)
Thank you for the nomination as DA!historian, and I accept the position! I’ll do what I can, when I can, but I cannot promise I will remember everything. As you can see above, I’m trying to make a coherent timeline of events for a chrono DA!blog master post. Still needs (lots of) work & is FAR from finished.
One last thought: would you all be willing to do this fic as a multi-author collab? One person writes one segment, and the next part is handed off to another, all while keeping the basic plot points as outlined above and elsewhere. I’m afraid I can’t do much beyond outlines atm bc Life™ & extreme unfamiliarity with writing fics/dialogue/scene-setting/etc (I know, get experience by writing whenever, no one is perfect the first time, etc.). Thoughts?

My Thoughte On Elsamaren
Since I did this for Kristanna, I thought I'd provide my opinion on Elsamaren. However, I think this will probably disappoint more of my followers. Because with Elsamaren....I can understand it.
I don't read most Elsamaren fics because most of them are post movie and I haven't seen it, but I get the ship. I know most people dont like it because Elsa and Honeymaren had like a few seconds of interaction and wonder why people ship it but I can kind of get why because I have ship like that.
I watch a show called "The Loud House" and theres this one ship called Luaggie between these two character, Luan and Maggie. Now, these two characters were in one episode together. Maggie hasn't appeared in any episodes since, she and Luan didn't even speak to each other in the episode she appeared in, and Luan has a canon love interest. Yet in spite of that, it's honestly one of my OTPs that I personally disregard canon for. Because even though theres little to go on for Maggie's character or what a relationship between her and Luan would be like, I liked the idea of these characters being together. I've seen lots of fanart for them and I've even written fanfiction for them
So yeah, I can get the ship Itself. Yes, Honeymaren is underdeveloped but that also means that theres no limit to what authors can do with her and Elsa's relationship and theres lots of fun in exploring how it might go. That's what so fun about characters who arent as wss explored in canon. Heck, maybe if I saw the movie I might ship them too. Plus, I'm also a Mariselsa fan so I can get the ship.
HOWEVER!
While I get the ship, I absolutely still hate the circumstances their relationship requires, namely Elsa leaving Arendelle. If Elsa went back and Honeymaren went with her or visited then I might be more into it. (And before anyone says, why would Honeymaren leave the forest for Elsa, maybe ask why Elsa would leave Arendelle for her when they just met and she could just Nokk to the forest to see her whenever she wanted.)
Also, I happen to find it an asshole move for any Honeymaren shippers to bully other shippers or to say their ships "canon" because no. It isn't. Unless Disney comes out and says its canon like they did with Korassami (which they won't because they repeatedly said Elsa didn't need a love interest and also because its Disney) you can't say it's canon. It might be canon in your particular stories but not in the terrible main Frozenverse portrayed in the movies. That's all I'm going to say.

Honestly, just reblogging to see the art again
I was talking with @ahallister last night about the misguidedness of antis’ suggestions that people jumped ship on elsanna because they realized it was wrong and she pointed out that the other wlw Elsa ships out there before F2 (like Belsa, Mariselsa, Elsa/Blue Dress Lady) weren’t created as an alternative to the “Ew! Incest!” ship, but were given a lot of their content BY Elsanna shippers.
Like she says, a lot of the content out there for these alternatives were made by Elsanna shippers going, “Holy shit, two (or more!) cakes!”
So, when a follower on my other blog who doesn’t like Elsanna reblogs THIS art…
…they have an Elsanna shipper to thank for its existence.

A Thought I’m Having Late At Night: Frozen Role Reversal AU
Basically, the plot of Frozen still plays out exactly as before, right up until Anna and Hans have subtextual sex get engaged and Elsa refuses to let them get married.
And suddenly, Anna has enough of being locked in all her life. Her view of the world has been shaped primarily by the story books she’s read, and this story - sheltered, naive girl, rescued from her ivory tower by a charming stranger and introduced to new sights, sounds and experiences...it’s exactly what she’s always wanted. She’s sure of it.
(Hans is initially unsure - he wants to stay inside the palace, figure out the best staircase to tie a small piece of thread across for Elsa to catch, that sort of thing - but he knows the merits of ‘divide and conquer’, and wouldn’t it be wonderful to turn such a sweet, trusting girl so completely against her sister without her realising he’s doing it?)
Anna leaves a note for Elsa, explaining what she’s had to do, and she’s unable to resist leaving a hint as to her whereabouts.
Elsa hides the note from the guards tasked with tracking down the wayward princess before scandal falls on the kingdom. She suggests an entirely different direction for her sister to have run to. When she catches up with Anna and Hans, it has to be just her. She has to put this right. She has to tell Anna her secret.
And Elsa is absolutely terrified, as she enters the city Anna has told her about. She’s scared, and alone, and completely out of her depth, and she wants to go home and...that is some lovely-smelling food. And what wonderful street-performers. And that poor old lady is in danger of overheating, and suddenly, Elsa is starting to feel just a tad less afraid...
But she’d better get to grips with her fear soon, because Anna and Hans are getting ever closer to the chapel...
(I haven’t worked out how Kristoff fits into this/how he and Anna meet, or whether Elsa receives any help from Queen Marisol of Eldora yet, but I hope I’ll get there, or one of you will)

FINALLY SOMEONE ACKNOWLEDGES QUEEN MERISOL
I like your enthusiasm. But I’m not the first or only person to acknowledge her. For instance, @wantstobuildasnowman has some good Mariselsa fanart, much of which is not NSFW. http://wantstobuildasnowman.tumblr.com/search/marisol
