Twin Peaks

            Catherine E. Coulson was an American actress who had worked on both stage and screen. She is best known for playing the Log Lady (Margaret Lanterman) in the TV series Twin Peaks.

Coulson was born in Elmhurst, Illinois, US, her father worked on radio and television as a producer and her mother was a ballet dancer. Coulson started acting since the age of 15 and started working for David Lynch in 1971. At first, she worked behind the scenes during the filming of Eraserhead (1977). Lynch told her that he had an image of her holding a large log, 15 years later, he created the TV series Twin Peaks which she appeared for both seasons. She appeared in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (2017) and Twin Peaks (2017).

Coulson first married actor Jack Nance who played Pete Martell in Twin Peaks. The couple were married from 1968 to 1976. She remarried to a Jew and converted to Judaism in 1980, and the couple had a daughter. Coulson was suffering from cancer during the filming of Twin Peaks (2017), her scenes were filmed before her death. She passed away in September 2015, aged 71.
