watched shaman king 2021 episode 24, I think that marco's famous 8 o'clock slap it's cause lyserg talked with yoh and sects don't let their members have friends, marco didn't want yoh to change lyserg's mind.

I hated yoh seeing marks on lyserg's chest and looking away, keep saying it's ok 'cause lyserg chose to be with x laws, but hell, if you have a friend gaslighted by a sect you try to get him out, yoh is too "chill"

I thought yoh was going to ask why lyserg got those marks and whether he is fine, but he kept quiet, that attitude's disappointing

and x-III's deaths found out hao's "real secret", he can change elements

I attended Apple+ x Deadline's craft event honouring production design teams for the limited series FIVE DAYS AT MEMORIAL, and the series SILO, FOUNDATION and TED LASSO.

Compositing supervisor Bill Parker who is nominated for his work on MOM CITY.

He was so great. He's somewhat sounds like Pete Davidson and speaks with the same cadence, but slightly looks like TJ Miller and he's self-deprecating and humourous. After the event the panelists were at the reception and someone told him how funny he was and he said it was to mask his nerves.

When asked what he would miss about the show he said he would miss watching it at 2am, as he tried to come up with the actual day of the show because was it Tuesday, or technically Wednesday? He would miss the wrap parties; and will miss the grace which was shown to everyone. He said there were no a**holes and he hopes to take that grace with him on other projects.

-No matter how much I love a show, I cannot go back and do a full rewatch of an episode. Instead I will rewatch certain scenes. I rewatched the scene in "(I Don't Want to Go To) Chelsea" where Ted asks Roy to squash his beef with Trent. I love that series 1 Ted didn't push Roy to rein in Jamie; instead he wanted him to make that decision. Series 2 Ted didn't intervene when Nate's ego got out of control. But seeing Roy turn the team against Trent was a bridge too far for Ted.

Ted's eyes when pleading with Roy to "Fix it" was just this.

-He may share his wardrobe and mug with Trent, but not the lack of bike-riding know-how.

I've read your treasure seekers rambles and ngl your thoughts on Luke as a villain makes me kinda curious on your opinions on most of the villains in the series as a whole :O

Most of the villains (the older ones, I'd say) are really good. Madame Hu is intimidating and probably a mommy people simp for (also the closest to being a proto!Luke), Mortimer MacCardigan is a properly self-centered dick to root against, Dunya is actually kinda terrifying, the corrupt judges in Dancing Shadows probably hit a bit close to home for the competitive performing artists out there, Sammy Sharkfur is capitalism incarnate-- you get the idea, all of them are really good.

The newer books do vary in quality, and they lean more into domestic-ish travel drama and stuff like that. Which I am fine with, don't get me wrong-- it can be done right, and they are done right (coughs and sips tea loudly at Fiesta in Mexico), but when they aren't they do be boring -m-

And then there are the occasional villains like uh Olaf and Ulfur in Frozen Fiasco, and those guys are hella basic, I'ma be real

They're literally the SKINNIEST TWINKS IN EXISTENCE, WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY MANAGED TO INCAPACITATE NINE GROWN-ASS ADULTS ALL BY THEMSELVES--

I get they can't use tranqs or guns or anything like that but C'MON A CROWBAR AT LEAST LIKE C'MOOONNN SHOW US A THING WHERE THEY'RE LIKE "If you don't want your friend or the pencil pusher to get hurt, you will cooperate with us" OR SOMETHING THAT JUSTIFIES THEM GETTING YA YEETED INTO A SHED BY THESE T W O T W I N K S

Madagascar Madness was kinda better at it since well, they were in the middle of the jungle and the animal traffickers can wrangle aforementioned exotic animals with perhaps ungodly reaction times/speeds (like lizards/iguanas), sooo at least it's somewhat imaginable and understandable that they'd be able to tie up eight people. They prolly used and abused the lasso tool /j

One notable villain in the newer books is the magician from Venice Masquerade-- that guy was cool, a magnificent bastard who was seven steps ahead until the girls figured out how to anticipate his anticipating. (Kinda. Hoping the misdirection thing Marco did when stumping the magician was just a Scholastic blunder because my god did it sound stupid in the English translation)

Anyway yeah the books do what they do well, but I can't deny that I miss the unabashed evilness of the villains in the old books. We need a little more of a big bad getting up in the girls' business enough for the girls to want to do something about it dammit

It's probably a bit of Scholastic cherrypicking the books to publish because like, we do have like, about 19-ish Thea Stilton books that haven't been translated to English, maybe one of them had a big bad we can root against -m-

FYI, you may see some old art spam here, i'm migrating some my old Golden Kamuy art / posts from @Buruzaitama to here. Especially from Twitter, since I will delete the account there, and the one here on Tumblr will be revived to be only Multifandom again (i'll delete the GK arts from there, but before, I'll reblog them here, so, I still keep them).

I'm still obsessed with Golden Kamuy and @Buruzami is still my main account ♥ and I wish Tsurumi, Shiraishi and Usami will be real, so I marry them, lol.

Due to Twitter/X guidelines, I want to delete the account content, I'm still keeping my Tumblr and my Bsky accounts, but since I've been using Buruzaitama for so many years (8 and a half), and many fandoms passed on it... and I have it copyrighted and registered is as one of my trademarks, I decided to keep it, and use it as a multifandom account in some socials (except Instagram, i think I won't open it again and only my GK art is submitted there, sometimes... because Insta hates me and think I'm sometimes a bot, lol)

I'm currently not active in other fandoms, but I did it before, and i'll keep @buruzaitama active by reuploading some old art.

I may post some mutifandom new art if:

I draw something for Marco Lasso's birthday (Nov 17. Shaman King, lol)

I open commissions.

I get a sudden hype for other old fandom (Hetalia, Tintin, Shaman King, Shingeki no Kyojin, Dragon Ball, Hellsing, etc).

If i get tooooo hype for a whole new fandom, don't feel surprised if I create a new account, but lately it's not happening. Golden Kamuy has literally saved my life and I don't know if it will happen again with other fandom in some years from on.

Doing my art summary, and I realized that this year was pretty dead (my mental health was pretty dead, as I was -and I'm still- recovering). I revived my art (and some social media) in August thanks to Golden Kamuy… lol. I think my 2024 will be artistically good.

Can you explain in a thread why you don’t like Marco?

First of all, I wanna give you a quick shout-out, whoever you are! You're the first person outside of my main fandom (KNB) to send me a request that's civilized and actually something I'd like to talk about so thank you! Reason number one would be, well, on my blog I've already mentioned various times that I don't like characters who abuse kids, and Marco is definitely not without corporal punishment himself. Whilst I like Ren and Jun, I also dislike the rest of the Tao family and Hao as he was mentally an adult throughout the story who didn't mind hurting and killing children (attempting to eat the souls of the Hana-Gumi waitresses for one, when two of them were still young girls is just unacceptable to me). Reason number two would be his brainwashing of Iron Maiden Jeanne and turning her into a murderer. That she forgave him for it doesn't means the audience has to. Children have a certain loyalty to their parents/caretaker figures that in abusive situations can be rather binding and making the child in question creating excuses, forgiving their parents when they shouldn't and see them with a loving kindness because they are the kid's rolemodel in life. Which brings me to reason number 3, the way Marco got absolved of all the sins he has done. Sure, he repented... By becoming a literal angel. That's rewarding him for repenting, and that is something I see as fucked up. That's one of the reasons why I respect Joco as a character- he literally blinded himself, and turnt himself in to serve time in prison for everything that he had done, continuing to carry the stamp of his prison sentence with him on his records for the rest of his life. Joco chose to repent, with no rewards, only more drama, awaiting him. That takes a whole lot of courage. Meanwhile Marco on the other hand, went on to power up in an attempt to say sorry for everyone, whilst Jeanne paid the price for the sins the X-Laws had comitted with her life. The only thing I could possibly say about that is, "Screw you Marco. I don't care if you soul 'could have shattered' because did that happen? No. The only price you actually had to pay was becoming a boy all over again. Oh boo hoo." However, I do think the Shaman King series has a problem with accountability in the first place. Children who were essentially brainwashed or didn't knew any better were held fully accountable for their crimes and didn't blame any of the adults for teaching them these things and blame themselves instead. Whilst the adults had to pay little to no price for the shit they did. I do find that harmful and victim-blaming. Reason number 4, his obsession with Jeanne. I mean, that Jeanne watch that Reiheit tried to give Teruko because he didn't have an engagement ring implies the X-Laws have Jeanne-merch. They have their own 'X' chant, which is more used as a Jeanne fanchant in the series, then it is a thing of everyone (including Jeanne) does. The way Marco himself admits he probably would have shot Ren during his wedding with Jeanne had he been there. Having been around the K-POP scene since 2010, Marco very much reminds me of a toxic fangirl that's one step away from becoming a full blown sasaeng. Just that scene of Lyserg faking Jeanne with an oversoul, and Marco being like, "the chastity belt was incorrect, that's the most important part", is seriously creepy to me. I mean, he considers the most important detail of Jeanne's appearance her chastity belt?! For fuck's sake. I can definitely see that a Shaman King reader who doesn't knows much about idol culture and how Marco is clearly written as if he were a toxic idol fan, to be like, 'Wait, the chastity belt is the most important thing? Hold on, the X-Laws are Christian coded... Do they touch little kids?!' (considering the Church's massive cover up of child sexual abuse). That scene definitely reads capital ICKY either way. Being actually obsessed with a little girl's purity as a grown man is just disgusting. So... Overall I find Marco to be an abusive creep who got off too easy, and that is why I don't like him.
