Currently playing with Amy Bull and Marc Brandt in Twinbrook.
Marc was originally going to be fulfilling the role of toxic boyfriend with that commitment issues trait of his but instead became the perfect stay at home artist boyfriend?
Their daughter, Esther, was a little risky woohoo surprise

Drawing my sims 3 sims part 1! The Moore family!
Tumblr media
Gameplay screenshots:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Backstory under cut!
I’m going to draw every single sims 3 household I have! It’s going to be very challenging since I have sooo many sims and saves (I lack self control)
The household I decided to start off with is the Moore family! It consists of the siblings Nora and Rory! They live in twinbrook with their cat lol, Here is some backstory:
Starting off with Nora! She was very outcast by her peers during her childhood and teen years. She was bullied even, because of this, she found comfort in playing various games with her father, especially chess! However after her father died. Nora went into deep depression and decided to distance herself from legit everything, Including the outside world.
She became a shut in or hikikomori that lives in her basement. She spends most of her days playing video games on her computer, or maybe even hacking. She’s basically in very deep depression, while thinking she’s too sensitive for the world. Her dreams of becoming a “chess legend” seems far away now too.
Her traits and lifetime wish 💚🖥️
genius, childish, loner, hates the outdoors and computer whiz. Her lifetime wish is to become a chess legend
Now onto Rory. Rory is a lot more outgoing than his sister! He usually looks after Nora and tries his best to make her go outside lol. Rory is of course still grieving from his father's death, but he mostly puts up a strong front.
He also decided to continue his father's legacy by pursuing the same career path as him, which is the architect/ home designer career!
His traits and lifetime wish🧡🐈
artistic, good sense of humor, over emotional, excitable and charismatic! His lifetime wish is “home design hotshot”
Their cat “tiger” is just chilling and living his best life lol
Currently in my save, Nora has been going outside more and more with Rory’s help! I also like to think she has a crush on his friend Marc Brandt, but idk if it will go anywhere lol, Marc has the “commitment issues trait” so I’m really not sure if I should make a relationship between them happen. On the other hand I could also get Nora a girlfriend lol.
Rory has a girlfriend (I totally forgot her name however) and is doing good in his career, so go Rory !

Analysis of the German gay film #freefall / #freierfall PART 1
Tumblr media
For the 10th anniversary (omg! 10 years already!) of one of my favorite movies I decided to make an analysis of the film and especially of the scenes between these two great actors. Max Riemelt and Hanno Koffler. Kay and Marc. Marc and Kay. Yes, I'm in love with both of them. It's a movie that I don't know how many times I've seen that without knowing German I know the dialogues by heart. I hope you appreciate it and above all that this will encourage the fandom and the possible realization of the second part, which I am looking forward to. From time to time I will upload parts analyzing the film from my perspective after having seen it so many times and having understood different nuances over the years.
HERE IT IS PART 1:
Tumblr media
The film begins at the police academy training where we immediately see that, in a practice on the athletics track, Marc is not able to keep up with his teammates and is falling behind until the group is already well ahead of him. While he is panting, he can't take it anymore and just walks while his teammates continue running.
Tumblr media
After this scene we can already appreciate the first moment where the protagonists, Marc and Kay share something more than a shot and that is that (for the moment) they are roommates. Marc decides to get up early for what presumably is to go to practice the speed test that as we have witnessed in the first minutes of the film is one of his weak points. What should be noted, moreover, is that in the first scene of the film, the advanced student at the head of the group of runners is, precisely, Kay. Before Marc leaves the room we already have the first joke of Kay towards Marc where he tells him lying down with a jocular tone "how much God helps the early risers", Marc's response and to which we will have to get used to is to look at Kay and tell him everything with this gesture without uttering a word, but sketching a small smile.
In the next appearance of both, although we already see friction between their bodies, it is not a friendly one, but rather, they are immersed in another police practice, this time with the riot uniform on where they recreate a demonstration and what it would mean to charge against the violent people who confront the police. Kay pretends to be one of them while Marc lines up with another group of comrades making a common police front. Marc takes the lead in the attack after the instructor's express order and it is not quite clear why in the following scene. Kay bursts in with force to take down the policeman who is blocking his way, as it could not be otherwise it is a Marc- Kay melee.
Tumblr media
Why do the two end up arguing and with unbridled aggression? The answer is confusing. Perhaps Marc in an attempt to forget his poor performance in the speed test wants to stand out this time. Albeit in a dirty way, as he achieves his purpose by taking Kay to the ground after kicking him. Or is it just an excuse involving both of them to keep them together because after Kay abruptly gets up from the floor he starts insulting Marc and Marc doesn't stand still, but answers him and confronts him too. Be that as it may, the two are called to attention and forced to pay a visit to the director of the academy to somehow fix what just happened. Without knowing how to answer what happened in this scene, it is certain that their joint reprimand plants the seed of friendship between the police trainees.
Tumblr media
The smoke, the cigarettes and the simple act of smoking embodies the meeting point between the two and for that very reason, blessed tobacco. After having passed by the director's office, they meet again, as if not smoking in the street. And here is the exact moment where the chemistry between them begins. In this scene Kay makes his famous joke towards the head of the academy with his phrase "a real poet that Brandt", jokes that Marc begins to love as he lets out a laugh.
I also want to highlight the small details. The small details are everything. Hence the reason for this analysis. Kay asks Marc if he has a light to light his cigarette and he was about to take Marc's hand where he had the cigarette and bring it close to his to light it, a scene that we will see later on that not only will make Marc slightly uncomfortable, but also shows the unresolved sexual tension between them and how it is precisely the small details that will make them both fall in love with each other. Here comes Marc's forgiveness of Kay for his attitude at practice earlier and his attraction to the blonde-haired man. Kay starts smoking not just any cigarette but a joint. If there is one adjective that defines Kay it is bravery and fearlessness. He is smoking marijuana in the middle of the police academy after having been reprimanded by the director (!!)
Can that turn us on more? Marc also shows that he is not only attracted to this, even if he resists, but that he likes it, because he ends up accepting the puff that Kay offers him. Kay's courage seems to have no limits and they decide to go to the academy pool at night, defying all the rules. Marc keeps asking him if he's crazy, but he follows Kay and they both end up taking a dip in the pool and playing with each other. This scene is THE scene.
Tumblr media
It is because of this scene that their love language begins to develop. All couples have their own language where there are words or even phrases that only they know what they mean. This is where Kay in order to entice Marc to take a bath with him says the "pussy" thing to him, appealing to Marc's masculinity and manliness. Obviously his pride as a man does not allow him to look like a pussy in the eyes of others and that word from Kay will be the impetus to make Marc take action. Throughout the film the word "pussy" will make them both smile at each other when they hear it.

How bright is the universe’s glow? Study offers best measurement yet
Scientists have traveled to the edges of the solar system, virtually, at least, to capture the most accurate measurements to date of the faint glow that permeates the universe—a phenomenon known as the cosmic optical background.
The new study, published Aug. 28 in The Astrophysical Journal, draws on observations from NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft, which whizzed past Pluto in 2015 and is now nearly 5.5 billion miles from Earth. The research seeks to answer a deceptively simple question, said co-author Michael Shull, an astrophysicist at the University of Colorado Boulder.
“Is the sky really dark?” said Shull, professor emeritus in the Department of Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences.
Space may look black to human eyes, but scientists believe that it’s not completely dark. Since the dawn of the cosmos, trillions of galaxies containing countless stars have formed and died, leaving behind an imperceptibly faint light. Think of it as the night light in space.
Shull and the team, led by Marc Postman at the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, calculated just how bright that glow is. Their findings suggest that the cosmic optical background is roughly 100 billion times fainter than the sunlight that reaches Earth’s surface¬—far too faint for humans to see with the naked eye.
The results could help scientists shine a light on the history of the universe since the Big Bang.
“We’re kind of like cosmic accountants, adding up every source of light we can account for in the universe,” Shull said.
Into the dark
It’s a type of number crunching that has captured the imagination of scientists for nearly 50 years, he added.
Shull explained that, after decades of research, astrophysicists think they have a pretty good idea of how the cosmos evolved. The first galaxies formed during an epoch known as the Cosmic Dawn several hundred million years after the Big Bang. The starlight from galaxies in the distant universe reached its brightest point about 10 billion years ago and has been dimming ever since.
Precise measurements of the cosmic optical background could help scientists confirm whether this picture of the cosmos makes sense—or if there are mysterious, as-of-yet-undiscovered objects casting light into space.
Taking those kinds of measurements, however, isn’t easy, especially not from Earth.
Earth’s neighborhood is teeming with tiny grains of dust and other debris. Sunlight glints off this mess, washing out any signals that might be coming from the cosmic optical background.
“A metaphor I use is if you want to see the stars, you need to get out of Denver,” Shull said. “You have to go way out, right to the northeast corner of Colorado where all you have ahead of you are South Dakota and Nebraska.”
New Horizons has given scientists a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do something similar in space.
Cosmic accounting
The mission has uniquely Colorado origins. Alan Stern, who studied as a graduate student at CU Boulder under Shull and former Senior Research Associate Jack Brandt, leads the New Horizons mission. He’s currently based at the Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Colorado. The spacecraft also carries the Student Dust Counter, an instrument designed and built by students at CU Boulder's Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP).
Over the course of several weeks in summer 2023, the researchers pointed New Horizons’ Long Range Reconnaissance Imager (LORRI) at 25 patches of sky.
Even at the edge of the solar system, the team still had a lot of extra light to contend with. The Milky Way Galaxy, for example, sits within a halo that, like our solar system, gathers dust.
“You can’t get away from dust,” Shull said. “It’s everywhere.”
He and his colleagues estimated how much light that halo could generate, then subtracted it from what they were viewing with LORRI. After getting rid of additional sources of light, the team was left with the cosmic optical background.
In scientific terms, that background amounts to about 11 nanowatts per square meter per steradian. (A steradian is a patch of sky with a width about 130 times the diameter of the moon).
Shull said that this value lines up well with how many galaxies scientists believe should have formed since the Big Bang. Put differently, there don’t seem to be any strange objects, such as exotic kinds of particles, out there in space producing a lot of light. But the researchers can’t rule out such anomalies completely.
The team’s measurements are likely to be the best estimates of the universe’s glow for a long time. New Horizons is using its remaining fuel supplies to pursue other scientific priorities, and no other missions are currently heading toward those cold and dark corners of space.
“If they put a camera on a future mission, and we all wait a couple of decades for it to get out there, we could see a more exact measurement,” Shull said.

Marc Chagall, Self-Portrait with Easel, 1919. Gouache on paper. Private collection. Artwork © Artists Rights Society (ARS), New York / ADAGP, Paris
The Russian Revolution of 1917 had an enormous effect on Marc Chagall. The passage of a law abolishing all discrimination on the basis of religion or nationality gave him, as a Jewish artist, full Russian citizenship for the first time. This inspired a series of monumental masterpieces, such as Double Portrait with Wine Glass (1917), celebrating the happiness of the newly married Chagall and his wife Bella. As the months went by, Chagall felt the need to help young residents of his native city of Vitebsk (in present day Belarus) lacking an artistic education, and to support other Jews from humble backgrounds.
The year 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of Chagall’s appointment as Fine Arts Commissioner for the Vitebsk region, a position that enabled him to carry out his idea of creating a revolutionary art school in his city, open to everyone, free of charge, and with no age restrictions. The People’s Art School, founded by Chagall in 1918, was the perfect embodiment of Bolshevik values. El Lissitzky and Kazimir Malevich, leading exponents of the Russian avant-garde, were two of the artists invited to teach at the school. Lissitzky took charge of the printing, graphic design, and architecture workshops, while Malevich, leader of the abstract movement and founder of Suprematism, was a charismatic theorist who galvanized the young students. A period of feverish artistic activity followed, turning the school into a revolutionary laboratory. Each of these three major figures sought, in his own distinctive fashion, to develop a “Leftist Art” in tune with the revolutionary emphasis on collectivism, education, and innovation.
Chagall, Lissitzky, Malevich: The Russian Avant-Garde in Vitebsk, 1918-1922 traces the fascinating post-revolutionary years when the history of art was shaped in Vitebsk, far from Russia’s main cities. Through some 120 works and documents loaned by museums in Vitebsk and Minsk and major American and European collections, the exhibition presents the artistic output of Marc Chagall, El Lissitzky, and Kazimir Malevich, as well as works by students and teachers of the Vitebsk school, such as Lazar Khidekel, Nikolai Suetin, Il’ia Chashnik, David Yakerson, Vera Ermolaeva, and Yehuda (Yury) Pen, among others.
Chagall, Lissitzky, Malevich: The Russian Avant-Garde in Vitebsk, 1918-1922 is organized by the Centre Pompidou, Paris, in collaboration with the Jewish Museum, New York.
Chagall, Lissitzky, Malevich: The Russian Avant-Garde in Vitebsk, 1918-1922 is organized by the exhibition curator, Angela Lampe, Curator of Modern Art, Musée National d’Art Moderne, Centre Pompidou, Paris, in collaboration with Claudia J. Nahson, Morris & Eva Feld Curator, The Jewish Museum, for the New York presentation. The exhibition is being designed by Leslie Gill Architect. The exhibition graphics are being designed by Topos Graphics.
Chagall, Lissitzky, Malevich: The Russian Avant-Garde in Vitebsk, 1918–1922 is supported through the Samuel Brandt Fund, the David Berg Foundation, the Robert Lehman Foundation, the Centennial Fund, and the Peter Jay Sharp Exhibition Fund. The publication is made possible, in part, by The Malevich Society.
