Lily slid into her seat, trying not to disturb the class.

"You're late, Evans," James tutted from the desk behind hers.

She turned around with a glare, "So?"

He pointed his quill at her mockingly, "Detention!"

Lily huffed, turning back around in her seat and beginning to listen to Binns, despite being one of the only students doing so.

A few minutes later, Sirius leaned over to tap Lily on the shoulder.

She whirled back around, anger evident on her face, "Can you leave me alone, Potter! Why are you so infuriating?"

James frowned, glancing up from his doodle on a sleeping Peter's arm, "What did I do?"

Sirius rested his head on James' shoulder, "That was me, Evans. You got James on the mind, huh?"

"I don't! He's just directly behind me so I made a guess!" She glared at him, "Now will you both leave me alone?"

James pouted, "But I think about you all the time!"

Peter lifted his head up, eyes still closed, to chime in with "In the shower."

Sirius erupted in laughter as James freezed up.

"That's disgusting!" Lily grimaced.

James leaned over the desk to try to defend himself, "Wait I don't, that's not true I swear- I think about giving you flowers and you visiting my parents!"

The rest of the class turned to him as Binns droned on.

Lily stared at him in shock as James glanced around the room, scrambling away from Lily and ending up falling off his chair.

Sirius grabbed his arm, pulling him up as the class began to laugh.

Lily smiled at him slightly before realising she had done so, and immediately turning back around, but not before Sirius had seen her reaction, and focusing on her notes as her face, neck, and ears began to match her hair.

"She thinks I'm a creep now" James sighed, beginning to draw a penis on Peter's arm, abandoning the previously drawn seashells.

Sirius leaned back down on the desk, going back to the crossword he had been doing.

"Nah, she doesn't", Sirius muttered.

Still with a teasing Dorcas trailing behind him, Regulus unlocked the door to his shared house and sighed when he saw the living room was very full. Plus Dorcas wasn’t good at keeping her mouth shut.

“So,” She started, suspiciously smirking as she flopped next to their confused looking friends on the couch.

“Dorcas.” He whined, dragging out the s with a hissing sound as he dropped his head into Pandoras lap.

“What happened?” The twins spoke, exactly at the same time as they looked at each other and burst out laughing.

With an eyebrow wiggle, Dorcas sat herself up on the couch and simply just grinned. “Regulus, you said you’d tell me more if I kept quiet on the ride home.”

“In my defence that was only to shut you up.”

A groan.

“What? I planned on getting home, reading, and going to sleep.”

“Oh come on Reggie, talk to us.” Barty stuck his feet in the air and attempted to poke a now even more grumpy Regulus in the face.

He raised his hands in surrender after a minute or two of his friends yelling and attempting to tackle him on the sofa.

In all honesty, he really didn’t think it was worth it. James was cute, yes. He was sweet, the embodiment of the sun, so so gorgeous, caring- really no one had ever made Regulus feel the way he felt when he saw those eyes staring innocently into his heart. The yes that plunged deep into his chest and brushed against his heart, they were so close, but so out of reach. The feeling seemed to grip him harder when he saw that red haired girl, her arm on is, a sweet smile on her face and pretty freckles decorating his nose.

Pale skin and freckles. Regulus has that, but he guessed it wasn’t good enough - he wasn’t a girl.

Her hair is burning and orange, like a sharp, hot fire. His hair is dark black and shiny and looked like the night sky full with stars when the light hit him just right, it’s soft and curled - and James would know that if he would just reach out.

Reach out, touch it. Run his hands through it, all over him for all he cares. Just please.

“He’s my coaches son, and actually Sirius’ best friend.” He shrugged. “I don’t know- he just latched onto me.”

“That’s so cute.” Pandora cooed.

“Besides, he’s got a girlfriend - I think. It doesn’t matter.”

“You think?” Barty questioned.

Regulus just nodded, chewing slightly on the pink skin of his lips.

Snap the fuck out of it, it only ends in heartbreak. He wanted to scream to himself, protected by the thick walls of his head - that way not a soul could hear him. Just stop.

I finally finished my four-volume ATYD layout!

The body text is larger than any formatted version I have found before, which is why it's four volumes instead of three. (The images I added to this post are just thumbnail previews, not meant to illustrate the relative size of the text.) I designed covers, front matter, chapter accents, and gave each character their own handwriting style for their letters!

I put a huge amount of work into this (for myself!) and I'm excited to share with anyone who is interested. The fanart and fonts I used are all credited (fanart in the front matter, fonts in the back) in case anyone wants to look them up.

These PDFs were specifically designed for printing as perfect-bound paperbacks, which is why the margins are larger on the sides toward the spine. There are all sorts of print-on-demand book sites out there that you can use to order your own copies. If you're handy with InDesign I can send you the .indd files if you'd like to modify them.

If anyone is super interested in having these in EPUB format (for e-readers), I can also share those versions, but they won't have the custom fonts because EPUB formats don't play well with those.

These are hosted on my Google Drive and I have no immediate plans to delete them, but I do recommend downloading them if you think you'll want them in the future, in case I need to delete them down the road.

I keep seeing these discussions about Sirius' appearance, whether he was more masculine or feminine and I don't understand the point..

One of the things I love about this fandom is the freedom we have to do whatever we want with the characters, because no one cares what JKR has to say.

I love both versions of Sirius and there are well-written fanfics on both roles. but I put my foot down on Remus.

I fell in love with Wolfstar over a decade ago and one of the reasons was because I identified with the quiet, nerdy, and adorable Moony. So you’ll take sweet Remus out of my cold dead hands!

Also I love the diversity we're finding in the Marauders fandom recently. It's a relief to no longer be in the whiteland created by JKR. but it bothers me that this more dominant and violent Remus is happening along with the darkening of his skin
