OVERVIEW: "Emerging wild-eyed and stoned from the desert surrounding Palm Springs, California, in 1992 with their classic second album "Blues for the Red Sun," KYUSS proceeded over the ensuing three years and through two further masterpieces to become the greatest stoner/ garage/ psychedelic/ punk/ metal band ever. They should have been huge.

But saddled with a record company that didn't have the first idea what to do with them, KYUSS only sold records to friends, family and a relatively minuscule band of diehard fans. So they split. Admittedley at a creative high point, but also at a time when they had so much to offer. This much is testified to by the first three tracks on "Queens of the Stone Age." Here are the last songs Kyuss recorded, all first released on a highly-prized 10-inch single and each encapsulating the hypnotic intensity and gargantuan blugeon the band summarily conjured up.

The first track is a frazzled eight-minute deconstruction of BLACK SABBATH's "Into the Void'. KYUSS remain one of the very few bands capable of doing Sabbath's black-hearted doom justice; accomplised in this instance by taking the original tracks prehistoric slurge of a riff and dragging it through a series of skewed rhythmic shifts and a long spaced-out jam.

Like all great bands, KYUSS' sound was utterly distinctive: essentially, Josh Homme's fuzzed-up guitar operating in tandem with Scott Reeder's monstrous bass rumble to create riffs that hit you with the force of a bulldozer to the chest, while singer John Garcia howled away impressively, and intermittently, over the top. All of this is contained in the two-part "Fatso Forgotso" -- a vast 10-minute expanse of soul-drenched, head-spinning rolling thunder.

The album is completed by three tracks from Homme's new band, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE. These too are extraordinary. The music is still dense, trippy and relentlessly heavy, with an even more extreme psychedelic edge. On "If Only Everything" and "Born to Hula." Homme -' who also sings -- appears to be playing a sitar with a road drill, while the whacked-out instumental "Spiders and Vinegaroons" is clearly the work of a man who's imbibed a vast amount of mind-altering substances, and gone mad. We'll not see their like again."

I've been thinking about it for a while, but the Mihoyo games fandoms are... Really less than courteous when it comes to spoilers.

I'm a loyal consumer of leaks myself, but I swear the fandom at large acts like everyone is - and not just is, but apparently should be.

There's been fanart in the HSR fandom regarding a certain character and a certain boss' relationship for weeks when not even the 3.1 main mission has touched upon it - because it comes from leaks regarding the future of the story. With the change in Genshin drip marketing schedule, it's quite literally impossible to find out who the new characters are officially because they're leaked at least a week prior and fanart (of course, untagged) starts flooding social media. There were also edits of the new 5.4 CGs everywhere as soon as the preload hit the servers, spoiling essentially everyone who wanted to wait for the version to, you know, actually be out.

Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but it makes for a very poor fandom experience when everyone acts like you're expected to follow leaks or you're the one responsible for getting things spoiled for you. It costs absolutely nothing to tag your leak-inspired or preload-datamined stuff as spoilers.

Were Eddie Coleman’s hazy runs like red blurs on swards of green? And Dad can you explain to me how it ever came to pass, that Roger Byrne, just five foot nine, covered every blade of glass? Or how David Pegg whose swerving runs, like a scorpion you said, always struck the ball with venom, yet left no one for dead? Or how it was that big Mark Jones could soar into the sky, yet still patrol his area, so that nobody got by? Then there’s the team of Sixty Eight, and Dad I’d like to know, how George Best was always missing, yet played five hundred games or so? And how was it Bobby Charlton, who played so many vital roles, could be both a great goal scorer and a scorer of great goals? Or how Denis Law had chipped a ball from forty yards or more, it came back off the crossbar, and yet Law was there to score? What use was it that Pat Crerand could split defenses with one pass, when the ball only ever landed on a sixpence on the grass? And was Stepney’s save at Wembley, the best you’ve ever seen, or was it just that it resulted in the fulfilment of a dream? So now to Matt Busby, or Sir Matt as he’s now known, from a mining town in Scotland, yet still one of our own? Then finally there’s the Munich clock, the disaster time still shown. Why do people say that they never intended coming home? The boy looked up with pleading eyes, and his father gently said, There’s a lifetime of old memories in the scrapbook you’ve just read. And of course there is some fiction, most fact, some strange yet true, that’s what makes players into legends, now I’ve passed them on to you. Those pictures may be faded son, but I can see them all so clear, as if it were just yesterday, and I hold each memory dear. Anyway, no, I'm not going to debate with people over whether Vic is innocent or not, and if that's what you want from me, you can just go ahead and block me right now.

I watched the video, saw all of the allegations against him, all of the evidence of his poor behavior over the years (not JUST related to the allegations), the things he admitted to in his own deposition, all of the sworn legal statements against him that would have never come to light if he hadn't tried suing in the first place, all the shit he has done or is alleged to have done since then, and came to my own conclusion that he is a massive piece of shit.

For me, that's the end of the discussion right there. Vic Mignogna is a massive piece of shit, and quite frankly, it's astonishing he didn't suffer consequences for it sooner.

Fuck that guy, he sucks, and whatever defense I may have had for him in 2019 when I was still on the fence about him should now be considered retracted as of this moment.
