Izuku Midoriya who starts knitting as physical therapy after his last battle. Who by the time he’s a teacher has insane hand dexterity and is ambidextrous. Whose friends all have their own knit versions of their own merch. Who knits both you and himself little braided rings you both use as place holders until you marry. Which is extremely helpful cause he can just keep remaking his when it falls off without his knowledge or breaks

Izuku Midoriya, who always feels absolutely horrible when he does loose or damage one of these knit rings. And so he spends a few hours when he gets home wrecking you on extremely skilled fingers while whispering compliments and apologies in your ear. “You forgive me don’t you, baby?” Knowing you can’t see straight let alone form works.

Katsuki Bakugou, who despite being an absolute monster with Spicey food , cannot handle even a little sour. Who claims it’s just nasty , and won’t touch one with his friends around. Who falls victim when you give him a war head in place of a regular hard candy and whole face turns red just to twists in shock and betrayal before running out the room to spit it and and definitely not puke.

Katsuki Bakugou who’s a spiteful bastard, and so the next time you have sex, in the middle of moan you find lemon juice being squeezed into your mouth. Shock causing you to yelp and the juice to leak out your mouth. It’s okay though because despite hating the taste, he finds that it’s not so bad when he’s licking it off your throat.

Shoto Todoroki, who’s dense but not nearly as much as people think he is. It took a him a while to figure out he didn’t just really want to be your friend, and then stop ignoring you after the fact. But otherwise very aware of social ques and habits. Who was literally media trained as a child, but he just thinks it’s funnier to blurt things out that should probably stay private. Who acts very lost sometimes but only when it’s beneficial and gets people to leave him alone. And who after getting into a relationship doesn’t do it in private, because he refuses to lie or anything close to you.

Shoto Todoroki who despite not liking to play dense with you in day to day life is more then willing to use it against you in bed “oh right here ? Did that feel good? I’m sorry I can’t quite understand you , love?”

Denki Kaminari, who’s is actually a little dense and struggles with numbers and letters, due to dyslexia they caught late, but loves to consume literature. Who is might as well be a walking audible commercial. Who is an avid Colleen Hoover hater. Who eats up all sorts of books from biographies to the most jaw dropping smut books ever. Who because of his vast online book collection, is actually really smart just about oddly specific things and people.

Denki Kaminari who drags you into the bedroom because he’s trying to figure out a really oddly worded position in a book, and lets you reap the benefits of his confusion.at least when he gets it right, for the first half it’s mostly maneuvering around each other while listening to the same part of the book in utter confusion.

I’m currently listening to Maren Uthaug’s book 11% about a world where most men have died. I should probably wait until I’ve finished the book but I’m so fascinated by the world building.

As of now it’s still unclear why the men died but when the story takes place there’s a mix of older women who fucking hates men and young women who have only met drugged up men at “breeding centers” and imagine “males” as violent boogeymen but otherwise don’t really care and just want to live in the new seemingly perfect society their grandmothers fought for. The only people who still fight for men’s rights are witches who believe masculine energies are as natural and Of Nature as feminine energies, but even they sound more like animal rights activists, standing outside breeding centers with signs every Friday. Their most provocative sign is a picture of a man with Human written on it.

Christianity has been completely transformed and is now run by priests (they don’t call themselves priestess) who can only hold ceremonies when they have their periods and snakes are their most sacred symbol because they gave knowledge to Eva and God is called The Mother.

Trans men exist but are referred to as Man Women and they all seem to be sex workers who have functional silicone penises, though I’m not far enough into the story to know if they have other jobs. They generally also still have breasts because working as a wet nurse is another source of income for them. Testosterone treatments is not an option because it would make them too masculine and dangerous to be allowed into society but they all have male names and everyone use male pronouns for them.

A really fascinating aspect of the world is how people want to get rid of the old “patriarchal architecture” of straight lines and boxes but refuse to tear it down with machines, instead insisting on letting Mother Nature reclaim it. Only Rat Girls are actively trying to destroy the old buildings by releasing hoards of rats into them and planting bamboo to break up the concrete. New buildings have round shapes and are build in ways that make them blend in with cultivated nature and inside they’re painting in beautiful colors with no hard edges. They sound a lot like colorful hobbit homes. Also, locks are considered uncivilized and of a time when violent men roamed the earth and made life unsafe so nothing, from front doors to bathrooms, have locks. For a while after most men died women would go for Night Walks to relish in the fact that they no longer had to be afraid, though they liked to visit the witches at night because it felt a little spooky, which the witches thought was good fun.

The story is naturally about a middle aged witch who is hiding a young boy illegally and gets milk from one of the trans men in the red district while also sleeping with a Christian priest who struggles with her sacred job because her periods are irregular.

I’ll come back with follow up thoughts once I’ve finished it. Unlike what you might think, Maren Uthau isn’t a scary man hater. I’ve listened to most of her other books and this isn’t a recurring trope so clearly she has something to say specifically with this story and it’s rated pretty highly by both male and female readers. I think I’m in for quite the ride.

That’s your problem. Because these are purely moral judgments, entirely personal and subjective. You’re applying your own value system to a character who objectively not only paid his debt but renounced a future and ultimately gave his life in the process.

So it doesn’t matter how many times you point out that he was a horrible teacher or bullied kids because, in reality, he spent years protecting all those kids. It doesn’t matter how many times you say he was a Nazi because, in reality, he turned against Voldemort at the age of 21 and was instrumental in defeating him during the war. It doesn’t matter how many times you claim he brought his abuse on himself because, in reality, all the references we have to his abusers’ past show them as bullies. The narrative never depicts them as good kids who only acted in self-defense—it consistently portrays them as aggressive bullies.

Any interpretations shaped by moral frameworks, cultural differences, or ethics rooted in your upbringing, environment, or personal perspective are irrelevant because the facts are clear.

That said, I also have my own value system. And in my value system, honestly, Severus didn’t owe anyone anything. The moment he went to Dumbledore and revealed the prophecy, he had already repaid any debt he might have had. So to me, not only did he go far beyond what he owed—he was foolish to dedicate his life to a cause that had rejected, ostracized, and discriminated against him simply for ending up in a specific house. In my opinion, the people he saved didn’t deserve his effort. And in my opinion—according to my subjective view of the world—he should’ve let more than a few of them rot in their own mess.

But that’s not objective; that’s just what I personally think. It’s not the truth, and I can admit that. Perhaps some people should consider doing the same.

no child experiments. no kinderheim 511. their birth sequence would be Johan first, Anna second, and Nina the youngest. it doesn't actually materialize that much in their dynamics (given they're triplets) except that these two oldest are oooooover overprotective of nina. mama vera was forced to labor the three of them prematurely out of stress upon receiving the news of her husband's death. her brother-in-law, klaus poppe, who had helped vera with the kids after the hubby's death, tried to pursue her not long after. and not only that, klaus also tried to lure anna into this silly lil experiment about children which he claimed was for 'work' at the red rose mansion all the while their mother was out. vera almost killed the man when baby johan exposed him while crying. this event led vera to cut ties with the poppe family and valiantly raised her triplets on her own. vera wasn't able to squeeze any info out of anna (on what poppe had done to her specifically while she was out). worried that she might be traumatized, vera got her into therapy. in the end, only johan and anna knew of it, and whatever happened sure left wounds deep inside anna's heart.

would be sooooo villanelle-coded (minus the psychopathy of course). like she is the Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss but at the same time she could also be the Female Rage™️. i am absolutely whipped at the thought that she'd have a complicated relationship with johan despite being inseparable during childhood because she's astute enough to know the real him, without filter whatsoever, and she could notice things the naive nina couldn't. no, johan didn't have to be a murderer in this universe for anna to hate him, he just got The Attitude that anna despises. it's jus the typical sibling fight though no worries. it's like there's this modern family-esque interview segments of them talking shit about each other every episode (little do they know, if a war ever breaks, they would absolutely sacrifice themselves to save each other — of course after ensuring their youngest sister's safety first and foremost).

in @suusoh 's head which i claim to be the same as mine because susu is rie and rie is susu, anna is as queer as she could be. and, in my silly lil daydreams, she actually labeled herself queer for clout bc she wanna rebel against societal standards only for it to end up the truest thing she had ever said about herself years later. on top of that, she actually envies her twin brother for having a dick like oh my god girl what the hell is wrong with you. ironically, she tends to be an absolute man-hater sometimes (depends on her mood). she could be a little impulsive, too, especially when she reached the rebellious age. boyfriends here, girlfriends there, and out of curiosity she even tried polygamy that's absolutely not her thing but she did anyway to annoy her conservative christian stepfather.

there's this only moment anna had accepted johan's attitude, remorsefully so, and thats when some girl tried to maul nina at uni (thank god she's good at judo) after mistaking her as anna ㅜㅜ this stranger apparently had her boyfriend stolen by anna during one of her impulsive moments (jesus christ). nina assured them it was all good after anna cried. but johan was absolutely pissed, and anna had a hard time forgiving herself for putting her loveliest babiest angel of a sister in danger bc of her shenanigans.

who is he, indeed, if red rose mansion wasn't that traumatic and kinderheim 511 never existed ? it's also hard to imagine for me, tbh, it's just that i think he'd be a chill lil guy who lives in his own head. nina has a hard time managing countless of confessions from different people in the campus—you see, anna is too wild to approach, johan is too absent-minded to care, and nina is the most amicable of them three. when nina opens her locker she'd expect a bunch of love letters addressed to three people: anna, johan, and then herself. majority of them is addressed to johan, tho.

if anna takes pride in her beauty and charisma while nina takes pride in her congeniality and physical prowess, johan keeps up with his brains. he is constantly the school's top one. he gets sent to other campuses for academic competitions. and back in highschool, a faculty even offered vera to have him accelerated due to his intelligence. johan denied the opportunity because he likes the fact that he's on the same grade level as his twin sisters. they have this sort of bonding where they do homeworks together as soon as they reach home. how would he do that if he's accelerated to a higher grade level? who would help nina manage anna's wild tendencies at school? who would help anna keep up with her acads if nina's too busy with her extracurricular activities?

vera is quite concerned johan is having a hard time connecting with people, but little does she know, her lil boy just doesn't want to. socializing is a chore the same way studying is. unless he has an ulterior motive, he chooses to stay at the corner with his books (boo. bummer. a nerd.)

is their cute lil baby! she's everyone's favorite. i think her personality in canon monster (before her 20th bday) is pretty much the same in this one, except that it's more chaotic in her house because she has two sibs trying to kill each other here and there. if not for her extracurricular activities and side jobs (which johan and anna tirelessly demanded her to quit so she could have a rest, only to no avail because nina is the angel who wants to help), i think her academic excellence would be in par with johan's. she also has a lot of friends—that's the reason why johan and anna are protective of her. she could indeed defend herself physically, but she's too kind and naive for her own good it annoys the two. if someone makes her cry, they doubt nina would even put them in their place physically or emotionally because she is just that kind—that's when johan and anna enters behind her back. they could be sneaky little vengeful devils if need be for nina. maybe they got it from uncle klaus.

Since youre the only account ive seen thats dedicated purely to liking martin i would love for you to tell me why you love him in depth. So many martin fans either simplify him to 1)sweet baby cinnamon roll (i have seen this exact phrase describing him so many times it makes me want to log off the internet forever) or 2) sexy knife murder man. Some fans ive even seen trying to back up their fondness of him with something along the lines of "i love martin because hes a complex character. His complexity makes him seem realistic and interesting. His relationship with other characters is complex" and it says NOTHING!!!

I dont really mind martin he never stood out to me idk. but its hilarious to watch the beef going between martin hater and several martin lovers. The thing is ive seen the hater guy give arguments to his dislike but all content i ever see of martin is your average fandom rambles saying hes beloved.

Soo do you have specific reasons? Or is it just based off vibes? Or do you just relate to him?? (i honestly hope thats not the case. i want to think of martin as a character of his own and not as an extension of someone else. there is practically none of martin analysis that isnt tinged with the sour note of his relatableness)

Anyways the reason I really love Martin is that he's very kind and genuine in his kindness but he's not a tool. He's actually really smart (i mean he basically ran the institute for several months while playing Peter) and he's not above being a hateful little bitch when the situation demands it. Especially in the later seasons. Which are all things I love in a character

so Just before you read these texts, know that I'm not anti-Darklina. I was just randomly scrolling through Tumblr and saw these, and they had reacted to your messages. So I thought I’d send them to you :)

the darkling had a lot of repetitive phrases he used when he was manipulating people. this has been said before, but he says “you and i are going to change the world.” a LOT. like bro please get a new line we’re all tired of your bullshit he also uses the argument of grisha aging against people. he points out to alina that she’ll outlive mal, and points out to nikolai that zoya will outlive him. in both of these situations, he wanted the couples separated. he kept scaring them by making them think of losing each other. and idk i think that’s interesting. But seriously, the two interacted a tiny bit in the first book (and that ended with him stealing her power and taking ownership of her), barely at all in the second, (and even that was just a whole lot of the Darkling being a creep and stalking on her, giving her mental trauma) and a tiny bit more in the third. (In which the Darkling killed several of her loved ones, destroyed her childhood home, and in turn, Alina killed him)

So if u saw it in another channel just say your opinion, but if u don't ill be happy if you read it :)))

First of all- I've already mentioned it, probably more than once- the "You and I..." is clearly a retcon. The fact it's "revealed" in KoS2 makes it painfully obvious. At that point LB was in her "renouncing the Darkling" stage, her readership got younger and more radically set against TRULY morally grey characters, so Darkles' non-hater could detect clear whiff of anti-him sentiments. The duology earned the title of spitebook by how clearly it's supposed to vilify the Darkling (and Darklina).

In-universe explanation is rather simple (credit to late yototo for pointing it out somewhere, but I couldn't find the thread)- Zoya LOVES to believe she's daddy's super ✨special✨ girl, but why would the Darkling bother focusing on her, of all people, when she was nothing more than an ordinary- albeit promising- Squaller? Even Alina- his alleged victim no. 1- openly admits he's hardly in Little Palace, he's constantly on the move, so when would he do more that a few words here and there?

Which leads us to the gigantic plot hole of viability of such "manipulation". The Darkling did nothing to isolate his "victims". They were free to talk, and don't tell me someone as competitive as Zoya wouldn't boast about her grand future. The same person, who's lying about her importance, when she's just crossing the Fold.

Alina probably mentioned what the Darkling told her and Zoya chose to believe he did the same with her. She's the person, who's still choosing to believe her intervention saved the tiger cubs instead of dooming them to violent death. The same person, who's "forbidding" her subordinate to die as she's about to swoop in as their savior, while abandoning army waiting for her help. The person, who basically calls her stupid aunt a hero for running towards a natural catastrophe with no means to protect even herself, instead of grabbing her kid and fleeing.

The third case of use of that "pick-up line" is when the Darkling's revived, empty-handed, totally done with the situation his people and country are in after his death. His only option, the only possible resource, is a bunch of stupid, xenophobic zealots, and he needs their chief's support. Flattering him might be a strategy, but use of THIS specific sentence reeks of irony, even sarcasm. The last time the Darkling did that, he believed he's a step away from bright future. He finally found the Sun Summoner, the situation was critical, but the key to everything was right here, and what more- his equal, his eternal companion, his Sun... Can you see the contrast?

I wouldn't call pointing out powerful Grisha's immortality a manipulation, it's experience talking. Sure, he didn't ship it, but there's no lie, and neither of the couples took this simple fact into consideration. Alina's hellbent on building her life around Malyen, and Zoya draws her political power from Nikolai. The same mortal Alina was somehow engaged to as THE Sun Summoner, same imprudence.

Generally the notion the Darkling was manipulating Alina is beyond laughable. If he did, Alina wouldn't run off after a single conversation with his mother, who btw is THE true manipulator in Morozova family. Either Aleksander's truly dull, and haven't learnt a thing at his mother's knee, or he simply didn't have the time and/or intention to try. I mean... his pathetic mortal pseudocousin is the master of getting Alina to do whatever he pleases. She marries Malyen after all.

I'm not sure what's the simplification of the trilogy supposed to show. Oh no, he did deeeeeds of eeeeevil!

When Alina was gathering an army and climbing up his chief enemy's ass, merrily planning to shoot him to pieces with all his followers and any bystanders (But who gives a shit about commoners in these books anyway.)?! Yeah, he should've totally treated her better...

My creepypasta relationship takes

I've been trying to start my own interpretation of the creepypasta's world for the longest time but I've been kind of afraid of doing so. It's not finished yet and I didn't add a lot of characters but that's just a small thing for now that I would like to expand piece by piece. Enjoy <3

Toby and Clockwork - They're in a healthy relationship for years now, supporting each others and havbing ups and downs like every couple. Even though Toby is still a proxy working for Slenderman Clockwork absolutely hates, they still manage to spend time together. As they grew older, Clocky will change and her murderous tendencies will slowly disappear leading to her trying to persuade Toby into running away with her, away from all the murders and Slenderman's control. Toby on the other hand will get more unstable as he gets older, slender sickness leaving devastation in his mind that results in him becoming more snappy and aggressive. He gets annoyed by Clocky's attempts to convince him to run away but deep down he knows she might be right, he's too stubborn to admit to it though.

Toby, Jane, Liu and Liam - The four of them doesn't really care about each other, Toby and Cody are proxies so they don't really cross their paths with Jane and Liu who are free spirits living in the shadows of Denver pursuing their own goal of vengeance towards Jeff.

Liu and EJ- Jack is someone who tries to live his life peacefully, hunting on his own terms and often helping proxies in exchange of organs from their victims. He doesn't mind anyone that don't break his peace. Liu sometimes comes to Jack for small favors he repays in the same way as proxies so Jack doesn't mind his presence. Liu on the other hand sees Jack as someone useful.

EJ, Clockwork, Nina and Jeff - As I mentioned before, Jack tolerates people that don't interrupt his peace but surprisingly he doesn't mind Jeff's and Nina's presence even though they break that rule quite often. Jack himself doesn't understand where did his sympathy for the two obnoxious killers came for. Jeff sees EJ as someone he can come to bother for fun, while Clockwork doesn't think anything of Jack at all.

Clockwork and Jeff - They get along very well and Clocky sees Jeff as her older brother. Their relationship is like that of siblings, they banter, bicker and pull nasty pranks on each other but on the end of the day they like each other's presence. As Clocky gets older and begins to stray away from killing, her relationship with Jeff will slowly fade away, Jeff will never admit it out loud but he's glad that Clocky wants to get her shitty life together after all she went through. Doesn't mean he will be less of an uncaring and obnoxious asshole around her tho.

Liam and EJ - I don't see x-virus as someone who's into social relations, for me he's a cold scientist that only cares about his experiments. He respects Jack due to his medical knolwedge, Jack doesn't mind him but also holds some kind of respect towards Liam.

Nina, Liu and EJ - When it comes to feelings, I like to see Nina as someone unhinged but social, she likes people that kill and can give her enterteinment. She likes murderers and proxies, even If she herself isn't one. She doesn't mind Liu even If he holds burning hatered towards Jeff who's close with her. She likes to bother him and tries to stick around just for the fun of it. I can't really see Nina as capable of loving someone, that's why I only HC her to just feel sexual attraction towards specific people, like EJ. He doesn't really react to it, even tends to avoid her but still has a small soft spot for her.

Toby and EJ - They get along surprisingly well, Jack is someone that Toby can come to no matter what. He's someone that can ground him and won't judge him. Jack doesn't get mad at Toby when he's purposely acting like an asshole or does everything in his might to annoy the man, instead he just kicks him out giving him a clear warning to cool down. He tries to be understanding towards the proxy.

Liam and Toby - They like being around each other, even If Liam is often annoyed by Toby's explosiveness, sarcastic manner and unpredictableness in his actions. Toby has a sharp tongue and can be insensitive making it hard for him to get along with most people, that's why he likes that Liam doesn't care what he says. It irks him that x-virus tends to act like he's smarter than him (he is) and does only what he wants. Liam doesn't really care who's he paired on a mission, he just wants to get it done or use it to make the most of his experiments but missions with Toby give him more opportunities to test his poisons. He thinks that Toby talks too much and it almost always annoys him but he finds that asshole useful, sometimes.

Jane and EJ - Just like Liu, she doesn't mind him but finds him useful for her revenge.

Toby and Jeff - Their relationship is like a ticking time bomb, due to their similiar traits and habits they often argue and compete with each other to prove who is better. Jeff thinks that Toby is a coward, Toby on the other hand finds Jeff as someone who's too crazy even for his standards. He dislikes the fact that Jeff always drags Clockwork into dangerous stunts (even If he does them himself). They don't hate each other but their relationship is straight up based on competition.

Liam, Nina and Jeff - X-virus dislikes those two and he's glad that their paths don't cross often. Nina is just a brainless girl, chasing fun and pleasure which are useless in Liam's eyes and Jeff is no different to him, just another killer chasing whatever he wants no matter the price. Liam doesn't see himself as someone similar to them, instead he put himself above thinking that he has a higher purpose.

Jane, Clockwork and Nina - Nina doesn't mind either of them and tries to stick around whenever Clocky or Jane are minding their business. Jane is the opposite, she dislike both due to their close connection with Jeff, not to mention that both don't get along at all due to their personalities. Clockwork and Nina are both sharp tongued and hot headed so they don't get along that well, at least from Clockwork's side, Nina sees their banter as something entertaining tho.

Liu and Jane - They have mixed feelings about each other, the only thing that really connects those two is their hatered for Jeff. They see each other as a part of their revenge plan, nothing else.

Liu and Nina - Now that's one hell of a complicated relationship right here. From one side Liu hates how close Nina is to Jeff but on the other hand, he kind of feels bad how Jeff treats her. Liu knows that she's no better than him but he still feels some kind of sympathy towards her that he can't explain himself.

Liam and Clockwork - Liam doesn't like Clocky at all but he just ignores her. He think she's too much like Nina and Jeff, which means he sees her as a brainless killer. He doesn't get near her, nor care what happens to her, he just accepts that she's around quite a lot due to her relationship with Toby.

(i like to refer to both dusk/dawn together as flipscreen or flip. i've had an intro post for them sitting in my drafts forever now. gotta finalize and publish it. soon.)

they (probably) wouldn't fight. dog has no animosity towards flip, and flip's not (usually) the type to be outright aggressive.

dusk is a coward and a pacifist. dawn, on the other hand... may very well throw himself at someone in a fit of rage if he's pushed past a tipping point.

dog's been rebuilt over and over, refined and trained... specifically for bot fights.

flip is like half of dog's weight, and their only experience with fights is prying screaming children off each other as a daycare attendant. they don't have, uh, 'security protocols'.

i'll give you a basic rundown on their personalities! i wanted to withhold most of the info until i published my fic at first, but i've decided idgaf.

dog: quiet. comes off as rude or irritable, but. honestly he's just fucking weird and can't interact with others outside of a 'performance' situation. in fights he's loud, cocky and quick-witted with taunts, but its just a part he's playing.

dusk: pretty fussy and nervous, excessively eager to please. a little too eager - he might get overbearing! fucking chill out man. he's undyingly curious about the world but doesn't really have an outlet for that hunger. optimistic. and he likes... hyperpop and vocaloid...?

dawn: very good at keeping up a cheery, bright front. professionally kind and courteous. and an absolute nuclear-meltdown-level of a hater. never to a person's face; but he is so full of pent-up rage he is practically boiling inside at all times. hates the world and everything in it. pessimistic.

dusk is actually a 'sun', and dawn is actually a 'moon' - but due to some programming issues, the personalities were put on the wrong sides. dusk deals with quiet-time activities when he'd rather be running in circles and yelling, and dawn has to deal with the yelling-circle-running kids.

She sat at his desk in his room, scrolling through her news feed on her phone, silent as ever. But that was okay—the silence was welcoming, not just for her, but for him too.

Sometimes, little sounds would escape her when she found something humorous or worth engaging with. Occasionally, she’d come across some stupidly adorable video and show it to him, thinking he’d find it funny or cute. He did, even if he didn’t show it.

She’d go silent for an exorbitant amount of time, her eyes fixed on a specific corner of his room, zoned out to oblivion. He’d glance over from whatever he was working on—once, twice, maybe more—wondering what was going through that head of hers. But he’d never know unless she chose to speak.

“You think there’s another universe where we exist, no quirks—just regular, degular humans, going about life, living day by day?” she asked, breaking the silence.

Bakugo furrowed his brows while connecting one wire to another. The question was random, but it was questions like these that always kept him interested.

“We do that already,” he muttered, his voice low, his attention still focused on his gadget. “...But with powers.”

She remained hyper-focused on that one spot in the room, her fingers intertwined over her stomach, her face as stoic as ever.

“If there were, though, I’d still be number one in whatever I did. Quirk or no quirk,” he added confidently.

For a moment, there was only silence until she spoke.

“...Yup.”

Bakugo grunted at her singular response, thinking, What the hell does that mean? Yup? Usually, words like that were simple coming from anyone else, but coming from her? There was always a double meaning behind it.

“‘Yup?’ What’dya mean by that? You don’t think I’d be the best or somethin’?” He looked up from his work and directly at Vanessa, who had turned lazily in his chair, slouched back until she was staring at him, brows raised.

“I never said you wouldn’t be the best,” she replied with a shrug, her face neutral. “But I doubt you’ll be number one. Like, you always say you’ll be number one, and I get it—you’ve got this whole wanting-to-surpass-All Might thing going on.”

Bakugo opened his mouth to retort, but she raised her hands in defense, stopping him.

“Chill. Relax, man. I’m not saying you’re not gonna fight like hell to try. I’m just saying...” She trailed off, unsure of how to finish.

Bakugo’s annoyance was visible now. Why the hell would she think I wouldn’t be number one?

“Don’t just trail off and not finish what you were sayin’,” he snapped. “Go ahead. Tell me.” It was a challenge now. He wanted to hear her reasoning and prove her wrong.

She looked him dead in the eyes. “You set your goal way too high, and I think you’re gonna crash out when you realize it. Or,” she emphasized, “you’ll realize it soon, accept that you won’t be number one, and be cool with it.”

He was glaring at her now. “You’re a goddamn hater is what you are.”

The audible sucking of teeth reached his ears. “B, shut the fuck up. You know that’s not true,” she shot back.

And he did know that. But if there was one thing Bakugo hated, it was Vanessa doubting him.

He knew she wasn’t coming from a spiteful place when she said things like this. Still, it stung when it came from her. Or maybe it was just the fact that she wasn’t the type to kiss ass and tell him what he wanted to hear. Maybe that’s what pissed him off the most. Looking away from her was rare, even more so when he raised both brows, irritation fading slightly as he focused on the gadget in his hands.

“Whatever. Keep doubting me. I’ll prove you wrong.”

Eight years later...

“Remember that one time—”

“Stop.”

“What? You didn’t even know what I was about to say. But remember that one—”

“Nope.”

Vanessa turned her head to look at him, her expression deadpan. It was obvious she was poking the bear on purpose.

“I was just—”

Every part of her wanted to burst out laughing. Every part. But she held it in—for now. The signs were there, though: the way she sucked in her lips, trying to contain herself, and how she quickly looked away.

“...Yup.”

The sound of his grip tightening on the steering wheel was audible, his knuckles turning white. The car's speed began to climb as his foot pressed steadily harder on the gas.

“You’re askin’ for it, Puffball,” he growled, his crimson eyes narrowing as the engine roared.

Her barely contained laughter escaped in short bursts, and she tilted her head innocently. “I didn’t even do anything.”

“Exactly!” he barked, the frustration evident. “You don’t have to! You just exist, and it pisses me off!”

Vanessa finally broke, laughing so hard she had to hold her sides. “Oh my god, B, you’re so dramatic.”

“Tch. Keep talkin’,” he muttered, his scowl deepening as he eased up on the gas just a little.

But even as he glared at the road ahead, his lips twitched—almost like he was fighting back a smirk.
