Month-end wrap up, if Tarot

Well. Here we are. We've made it through May.

I did not, as I had hoped, wind up updating LTL this month... But I'm getting there. There's been a lot going on, good and bad. June will hopefully be better.

With that said, I'm doing a little check in with my cards, just to see if I was moving in the right direction this month.

So, I've probably mentioned before that when I'm shuffling, I will include cards that fall out in the reading as sort of context or additional flavor - especially if I'm using Archaeon, because that one likes to yell at me (affectionate.) Today, it threw two simultaneously: four of pentacles and the Hierophant. And because they were thrown literally stuck together, I took that to mean they were meant to be read/interpreted together.

It's a very straightforward one tbh. My concerns this past month have dealt with a community, and my unwillingness to let it go when I needed to. Very called out lol.

The main reading was basically all swords (mostly court) and major arcana, so this is all in bold flashing neon lights apparently lol.

Three of Swords: heartbreak and emotional release. Honestly also straightforward... Was not doing well. Had to break the bone to set it correctly, etc. Seeing this in the past position is very much a "yes, that hurt. Now what are you going to do with it?"

Queen of Swords: boundaries and communication. Apparently what we're doing right now is self care. We are communicating our needs and setting healthy boundaries. This is a positive.

King of Swords: mental clarity and authority. What this is telling me is that my read that things had gotten a little too heavy to carry was correct, and this mental/emotional maintenance period I'm in now is going to set me up for success moving forward.

The Devil: temptation and attachments. This card is effectively my reflection, reminding me that I'm going to want to slip back into old habits again - but that way lies burnout, so we're not going to do that.

The Hermit: soul-searching and reevaluation of goals. This is a time for thinking about what you want, and how you want to achieve it. What's best going to serve you?

And all of this is supported by today's rune: Thurisaz, reversed. The danger is behind us; not gone but so long as you stay vigilant, not an immediate threat either. Also, gentle reminder that you were being a stubborn twat and not taking advice you should have way earlier.

All in all, this was a surprisingly gentle reading from this deck. Blunt, yes. But it had the vibes of a worried friend checking in after an Incident. "I'm glad you decided to slow down. Now I'm here to make sure you actually rest. Because I know you and you won't." To shreds, you say?

Anyway. Here's hoping, folks. ❤️❤️

Adler is a dog guy because he loves the obidence, affection and deference dogs show their masters regardless of how they are treated. A dogs owner is their entire world, they are reliant on them for everything and this is probably appealing for Adler and his need for control. Having a dog strokes his ego both because a dog is obedient and affectionate to it's master, which Adler thinks he is owed and because it affirms his sense of American masculinity. Adler would be one of those dog people that hate cats because you have to respect a cat's boundaries in order for it to love you and you can't control them like you can dogs. Adler likes Bell for the same reason he likes dogs.
