Maya and the three: A new Journey, chapter 1: The aftermath
So, this is how it ends. A part of Maya knew this was going to happen, but a part of her still hoped it wouldn't.
But if it meant saving her friends and family, so be it. With the last of her strength, she plunged Eagle Claw into Mictlan's heart. She saw white and then darkness. And then felt nothing.
Maya felt her heart break. It was so quiet. She didn't imagine death to be so quiet. It was lonely.
"Fret not, Maya." A familiar voice said, "It is not yet your time."
Ah Puch.
"W-What?" Maya asked, "I don't understand."
"With all you and your family have done, we believe it is only fair you get a chance at a life long-lived."
Maya remembered who was waiting for her in the afterlife. Her brothers, her mother, Picchu, Zatz, "But what about my family?"
"We will wait for you, Maya." Lance said. Maya teared up at the sound of her brother's voice.
"We will always be with you." Shield said.
"You're never alone, hermana." Daggers said.
"Picchu wishes princess well." Picchu said.
"We love you, Maya." Micte said, "We are so proud of you.”
"I… I'll miss all of you." Maya whispered.
…
Maya felt herself encased in something soft and warm, her eyes wet with tears. She slowly opened her eyes and took in her surroundings. She was in her bedroom.
She slowly got out of bed and walked towards the exit. It felt like all her energy was drained out of her. Before Maya could leave and look for anyone, she saw Rico and Chimi down the hall. The three friends saw each other and froze in their tracks.
There was silence for a while until Rico and Chimi ran to Maya, trapping her in a tight group hug, "We thought we lost you." He said.
Maya smiled as a tear ran down her face. "We did it, didn't we?" Maya whispered, hugging them back.
"We did." Chimi said.
"What happened?"
"After you defeated Mictlan, we saw our families again. Once everything calmed down, we found you unconscious."
"You look terrible." Rico said.
Maya chuckled, looking down at her bruises, "Where are my parents?"
"They're checking on Zatz."
Maya's heart stopped, "What do you mean?"
"Oh, d-did we not mention that?"
Rico and Chimi helped Maya walk down the hall, "We also found Zatz and Vucub." Chimi explained, "Vucub hasn't woken up yet, but he's ok. Zatz woke up a few hours ago. He looks just as awful as you."
They made it to one of the many rooms in the palace. Inside were King and Queen Teca and Zatz, lying in bed. Zatz was in simple black clothes and was covered in bruises like her. He stared at her with wide eyes.
The minute she saw him, Maya's eyes welled up. The last time she saw him, he was killed in front of her. And now he was here, alive and well.
Zatz smiled and held his arms out. Maya instantly ran into them. They silently cried as they held each other, "I thought I lost you.” Maya said.
"You could never lose me." Zatz said.
Later that night, there was a celebration in Teca to honor their fallen and celebrate Mictlan's defeat. Maya had a quiet dinner with her friends and family and told them what she saw before she woke up.
"You have no idea how grateful we are that you're alive." King Teca said after dinner.
"Me too." Maya said, "So, did you name the twins?"
"It was easy." Queen Teca said, "We named the boy, Jaguar, and the girl, Eagle."
"After me?"
"We wanted to honor their siblings."
"But I'm still alive."
"We don't see how that's relevant." King Teca said.
Maya smiled and hugged her parents, "You get some rest, mija." Queen Teca said.
"Buenas noches." Maya replied. When her parents left her room, Maya went to the room where Zatz was sleeping. He was sitting on the floor, staring at the moon, listening to the celebration of the rest of the kingdom below.
Maya silently sat next to him, "Hey.” She said, "Are you ok?"
"What you said about seeing your family before you woke up…" Zatz said, “It reminded me of my father."
"Oh… did you hear him too?"
"Yeah. I heard Mama, too." Zatz wiped a tear from his eye, "They said they're proud of me."
Maya smiled and put her hand on his, "Of course, they are." They sat in comfortable silence for a little while, "Hey… this might be a bad time to ask, but… what happened to Acat?"
Zatz was caught off guard, "Do you really want to know?" Maya nodded. Zatz explained what his father told him. How Acat didn't tell Mictlan where he was and how it led to her getting killed.
Maya almost didn't know what to say, "Oh, I'm… I'm sorry. Do you… do you miss her?"
"Sometimes." Zatz admitted, "I loved her at one point, but by the time you and I met, my feelings had faded. I still enjoyed our time together before then." He gripped her hand tighter, "Acat will always be a part of me, but believe me, Maya, I love you now."
"I know." Maya smiled. She moved closer to him and hugged him tightly, "I do think we could've been good friends." Zatz smiled and kissed the top of her head. They sat there for a while longer until Maya returned to her room.
Everyone fell asleep as soon as their heads hit their pillows. They dreamed of the adventures that lie ahead.
A few months later, Maya, Rico, Zatz, and Chimi had returned from the Jungle Lands. There had been word of unusual trappers and the four warriors went to investigate the situation.
Maya ran to tell her parents about what they found. She found them with Vucub, "Mama! Papa!" Maya said, "You won't believe what we saw."
"Slow down, mija, what happened?" Queen Teca asked.
"Ok, so, you know how there were strange people in the Jungle Lands?" Her parents nodded, "Well, these guys were really big and ha-had spiked helmets and armor with these giant arrows and axes. You should've seen them, some of them had red faces- anyway, they say they're 'dragon hunters."
""Dragon hunters'?" King Teca repeated, "What's a dragon?"
"I-I don't know, they're like giant monster lizard things. They come from an island we've never heard of, a whole other world."
"Another world?" Queen Teca asked.
"How is that possible?" King Teca wondered.
"We have to go there." Maya said, "We need to go with these 'dragon hunters.' There's so much out there we haven't seen yet, who knows what we'll discover!"
The king and queen looked at each other, not knowing what to think about what their daughter was saying, "Mija, think about what you're saying." Queen Teca said, "We know nothing about these strangers. How do we know they aren't dangerous-?"
"Which is why I am going with you." Vucub said, suddenly. The Tecas turned to the god in shock, "I may have lost my sight, but I am still a mighty warrior. If we can survive Mictlan, we can survive this world of 'dragons.' I shall accompany Maya and her friends to this new world."
King and Queen Teca looked at Vucub and then their daughter. The blind god made a good point. They've gone through much worse.
Meanwhile, Micte's body materializes, opening her eyes to see a different realm, out of the earthly plane of existence. Seeing She softly questions "What is this place?"
“You are in the spirit realm, milady. An undefined world, an alternate reality where perspective is skewed.” A voice said, referring to the solid gold tone of the realm, a chi lake with ripples, where peach blossom petals drift by and movements that echo the circularity of yin and yang, and the energy of chi circles.
Micte hears the voice, slowly looking up to see an old, and wise tortoise descend to her level
“Who are you?” Micte softly asks. The tortoise chuckles before saying “I am Grand Master Oogway the Magnificent, but you may call me Oogway, your majesty.” As Oogway chuckled again.
Micte prepares to introduce herself until Oogway says “I already know who you are, Lady Micte, Goddess of death! It is an honor to meet you.
Micte smiles, saying “It is an honor as well, Oogway.”
“Maya is growing, maturing.” Said Oogway smiling.
Micte grows worried “Will Maya be okay?”
“Maya will be alright, milady. I have a vision that she will be the hero and queen she was always meant to be.” Oogway reassured Micte as he smiled.
“Where are they going next?” Asked Micte.
“To the island of the dragon riders.”

Mi Mariposa
Prologue
Zatz x Fem! Reader
“Mama, there's nothing to do here” the little girl complained with a bored expression while she swung her small legs over the edge of the throne. “My daughter, why don’t you go play?” her mother, Lady Micte, The Goddess of Death asked from beside her husband, Lord Mitclan, The God of War. The girl looked around the room with that same bored expression then said, “Papa said I was supposed to stay here” with a sigh she crossed her arms and threw herself back into her throne. Lady Micte looked at her husband with a quick glance and then leaned over to her daughter, gently placing her hands on the girl's face. “Well, Mi mariposita, when was the last time you ever listened to your father?” said Lady Micte with a smirk spreading across her face, the girl let out a small giggle looking up at her mother then took a quick glance at her father before getting up and faded away in a red mist.
Lord Mitclan noticed his daughter missing from his wife’s side and with a slightly amused expression said “Aye, where did she go now?”. Lady Micte looked at her husband with a smile then placed a hand on his arm saying “Off somewhere having fun, let her have this before the plan”.
Meanwhile
A certain white-haired boy around the age of 9 stood beside his father and looked around the room with his only good eye, a curious expression written on his face. His father, General Camazotz, the God of Bats looked down at his son with a small smile on his face, “What’s wrong, hijo?” he asked the boy. The boy looked up at his father and asked, “Papa, when is something interesting going to happen?”. Camazotz looked at his son and let out a quiet laugh in response he said, “Why don’t you go find somethi–”. Before the God of Bats finished his sentence, the boy had already run off. The God laughed at his son’s antics and continued with what he was doing.
The white-haired boy had started looking around for something to do, until he heard a giggle in the distance. He turned around and saw a girl about a year younger than him, pulling harmless pranks on the other gods and goddesses. This intrigued the boy beyond belief and with that he walked up to her, the girl in question felt a presence coming towards her. She looked at the boy in surprise, no one had ever come up to her like this boy had. It made her slightly happy. The boy started to look nervous now, he started to think that this was a mistake. The girl gave the boy a small wave and a smile, that eased the boy’s nerves quite a lot.
“Umm… Hi, i’m Zatz, the Prince of Bats'' the boy had introduced himself, he started fidgeting with his hands and shuffling his feet. The girl had stopped tormenting the poor gods and goddesses, then offered her hand to him before introducing herself, “I’m Y/n” Zatz shook her hand with a smile.
The two children had played together as their parents started their meeting, the young goddess and demigod had instantly become friends and shared mostly everything with each other. By the end of the meeting Zatz’s father had come looking for him, when Camazotz had finally found his son there was a little girl who he recognized as the Goddess of Life. He smiled, he had interacted with the young goddess multiple times and they were all pleasant. The God of Bats hadn't noticed Lady Micte floating behind him, also watching the interaction between her daughter and the demigod. Her pequeña mariposa finally had a friend and would no longer have to feel so lonely.
Zatz and Y/n still haven’t noticed their parents watching them playing. “You know, I expected you to be some sort of spoiled princess” Zatz said looking at Y/n with an amused and relieved expression, Y/n returned the look with that same amusement. “Yeah, a lot of people think that when they first take a glance at me” Y/n says amusement turning to disappointment , her voice cracking at the end of her sentence.
Y/n’s eyes started to glaze over with tears. Zatz looked at her with a shocked expression, he had only met the young goddess a few hours ago and he already didn't like seeing her upset. Zatz crawled over to the girl and pulled her into a gentle hug, Y/n returned the hug. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have mentioned it” Zatz apologized, he started to feel guilty about what he had said. All he got in response was her hiccuping and soft crying, he felt her tears on his shoulder. Suddenly, they heard footsteps behind them. “Mijo, what happened here?” Camazotz asked his son gently as he came over to them and kneeled beside them, his father looked confused and concerned.
“I didn’t mean to make her upset, Papa” Zatz told his father, his eyes now glazing over with tears. Zatz and Y/n separated from the hug, their hands now linked together. Y/n turned her head up to Camazotz, she formed a small smile but her face was still wet with tears. “Daughter, what has happened?” said Lady Micte softly from behind them all.
Her voice had startled the three, no one had seen or heard the goddess. “It's nothing, Mama,” the girl exclaimed while wiping her eyes quickly. The mother looked at her daughter with a sad expression. She floughted to her daughter then knelt down beside them, just like Camazotz had been. The little girl stood up and slowly walked to her mother, “Please tell me what troubles you”, her mother tried again.
“Mam–”
“My beloved!”
They all turned to the loud voice, which revealed to be Lord Mitclan. General Camazotz shot up with a nervous expression, his son on the other hand seemed more interested in his new friend. He smiled to himself through the encounter between his father and Lord Mitclan.
{Time skip}
The large doors closed with a thud, Lady Micte looked behind her to make sure she hadn't been followed. However, she hadn’t noticed the little poodle moth on the wall.

Tied up || Drabble
Last night was definitely a ride. A God throwing down her door, causing an earthquake in her estate, and barely managing to kick Him out with Huitzi’s help, Quetzalli couldn’t help but worry. Thankfully, her twins had been upstairs the whole time, unaware of anything except the obvious, of course. Still, smart girls as they were, Quetzalli found them underneath the bed when she went to check on them.
“It’s all going to be ok.” She told them, even if a part of her was fearing whatever consequences might be brought later. Wherever her twin was? She didn’t know, but she prayed He didn’t find him in the state He was. “Let’s all get in to bed, shall we?”
Quetzalli was just about tucking her twins in bed when suddenly and without a warning a sharp pain coursed through her form, crying out for the surprise and alarming the girls who got up from the covers immediately “Mom!” “Mama!”
Her voices sounded distant as she tried to get a grip on whatever it was that was causing her this pain, falling on her knees and bending over, tears swolling up on her face as she fights against it to try and calm down the kids. “B-Babies...” She mumbles, tasting ichor on her tongue yet there was nothing there. “G-Get your uncle...” She mutters softly at the girls crying and alarmed in front of her. She could catch a glimpse of Metzi bouncing off the bed and running to find Mictlantecuhtli, and the last thing she sees was Citlali rushing to hold her mother, even if her small arms can’t keep her body up.
It’s not long before Micte walks in on a very disturbed nine year old holding her unconscious mother, telling Metzi to be with her while He picks Quetzalli up and lays her body on the twins’ bed. Sure, he would’ve prefered to do this alone and on his quarters, but the fierceness on the godlings’ eyes when he tried to leave with her decided otherwise.
Hours passed and, while he had managed to stabilize the shock Quetzalli’s body was going through, he could not find a direct reason as to why this was happening to her. The twins had fallen asleep at the other bed next to her, and right now he was only focusing on the high fever that wouldn’t let Quetzalli wake up.
“Come on, Bonita... you’re stronger than this...” He whispers, fingers running through her hair, damped with sweat and the water from the cold pads he kept on her. Part of him made the conection with the fact Xochipilli never made it home last night, but he was far more worried by her and the twins who had silently cried themselves to sleep last night. He leaned closer to press a kiss on Quetzalli’s forehead between changed of pads, whispering softly...
“Your babies need you...” And as longshot as it was, the words half made it through Quetzalli’s stupor, managing to open her eyes slowly, unaware that it was the exact same moment her twin was being found at the floor of Lux.

Because it was too funny not to have happened in at least one timeline, there is now a variant of Eldritch au where Jak is like "I'm going to sneak off to the past and steal my childhood self from another timeline because we deserved better. Surely my parents can't get into that much trouble in the meantime."
And he is, of course, incorrect. Because a week after he and Mar get home, Baby Coy'l teleports straight out of their mother and starts screaming bloody murder.
Jak would have appreciated some warning. And Daxter would appreciate some brain bleach.
Eldritch Damas au
Sometimes Jak regrets accidentally turning his father into a sort of neo-Precursor. Especially considering his mother being the dark eco patron. (@sparguscityangel 's Micte)
It's really hard to keep up his image when his Lovecraftian parents are busy being Morticia and Gomez any time they encounter each other on the battlefield.
