I can't wait for art about the new episode so I went through and wrote down all the physical descriptors/backgrounds for our new murder mystery castle guys for references 😘🏰

Barnabus:

• wearing comfortable leather clothing, boots

• Lotta wine, lotta rizz

• 'scraggly beard, unkempt and animalistic'

• sharp eyes that are wild and fiery, 'wicked gaze', perched eyebrows give almost angered expression even when he smiles

• 'twice Arthur's size'

• "astronomer and alchemist, one of the most important people of this day and age, witnessed visions 'the crags'"

Friar Horbrooke (Dr Horribilis):

• loose fitting brown robes meld together as if one piece

• calloused hands

• "polymath, philosopher, scientist, theologian, genius, wizard"

• younger, sheepish man

• thin lips, warm inviting face

• eyes 'docile like a lambs'

• walks with his hands held together at waist as if praying

• shoes are elaborately tied 'quite the knots keeping them on'

Gerard:

• red tunic

• "designs, architecture and art are amongst the most progressive this land has seen" architect of devotee cities

• claims to be part of The Order of the Fallen Star

Langward:

• stern cold expression, stoic

• "physician, accomplished surgeon, ability to distinguish diseases and plagues and their contagious power... esoteric visions of worlds beyond ours"

• part of The Order of the Fallen Star

Lord Evrard:

• well manicured jet black beard that ends in a point at his chin

• mustache large and pointed

• dark hair is 'short, almost modern'

• eyes are light blue/grey, dark circles make them look sunken and tired

I know well one of you will ask why he has his dogs out 😭 it's cause rapunzel is canonically barefeet

This is a Malevolent x Howl's Moving Castle AU where Arthur is Howl, Oscar is Sophie and Calcifer is John. Uhhh idk I kinda lost interest in this AU so I hadnt made designs for Oscar and John

Look Malevolent Parts 48-49 would be SO funny if Arthur wasn't dying of the plague. Like classic 1930s private investigator gets dropped into a classic Agatha Christie-ass Nobody Gets In Or Out Whodunnit so you'd think oh great he's well equipped for this scenario EXCEPT said whodunnit is occurring in medieval England and nobody else in the scenario knows about investigative procedure at all so Arthur has to SAY OUT LOUD "Hey guys what if we investigated this. With a procedure" and everybody stops trying to kill each other with knives for five minutes to go hmmm interesting proposition, you oddball. And then they go back to trying to kill each other with knives.

OH MANN those last 10 minutes…. arthur getting worse, john PLEADING with him to let him help, the frantic feeling of trying to piece everything together (too little, too late…?) johns breathtaking descriptions of the castle in the distance, of the architecture, the new MUSIC track??? just such a wonderfully eerie vibe, so perfectly spooky and tense and we’ve only just entered the castle. i need the next ep NOW 🙏
