how else to cure late stage capitalism and abandonment issues than screaming about them into the void eh

boy howdy is the loneliness devouring me whole 🫠 the last time I had any sense of community was after being explicitly disowned/kicked from my remaining blood family in 2021. I then met a fantastic group of wonderful midwest queer people i felt I had found family in again. together we started a union, i got into activism, went to my first pride events, learned to dance in public, had people i could count on for anything.

I moved back to oregon summer 2023 and only talk to maybe 3 of them like once or twice a year. the only place my partner, 2 big dogs and I could afford was a tiny mildewy fifth wheel on some friend's commune. there i networked with so many people living off grid, learned foraging and how to dig a fresh water well, celebrated the holidays i actually care about as a pagan, laughed and danced countless nights away with people growing more and more to be another found family. then my closest friend there physically assaulted me over jealousy about her ex being in my vicinity during a party. I didn't do anything but we were once again out of a home and had lost the friends and work I'd made along the way.

now I live in a nearby city i only have bad memories from in a short term rental. don't know where I'll be living in march. don't have any friends here, not even working yet.

and now we're even losing tiktok. sounds like a dire case of 'Go Touch Some Fucking Grass' but it was a place i found so much joy and enrichment when I was losing everyone else in my life. hearing people's similar stories made me not feel alone and learn more about myself and the world. I found my favorite music, bands, shows, podcasts, people. it'll all be gone after tomorrow.

fascisms on the horizon. I've lost 4 sets of friends/family in as many years. lost all the off grid community resources id been building. looking like I'll be losing rights again and my partner and dogs are the only ones I have left. Jesus christ at least I still have them.

@mixterglacia and I have started listening to the Malevolent podcast, after catching up with our other various horror podcasts on road trips.

we are hooked. and I am 1000% here for John Doe's "body" being basically a haunted bedsheet with a Schrodinger's body underneath it. Is he just the drapery on top? Is there even a body underneath? Maybe? It's definitely a vague amalgamation of human features at best and is not really visible, at least in a way that's consistent or able to be recalled. If there is one.
