uxoriousness/meritoriousness
╚══ஓ๑♡๑ஓ══╝ leon kennedy x fem!reader
summary: following a recent outing to spain, leon indulges himself in the chaos of the theatre as a temporary reprieve. what he doesn't expect is to find you, a duke's daughter which captures his attention.
tags: fluff, romance, fem!reader, no use of y/n, early modern century britain, knight!leon (?), terrible flirting on leon's behalf.
a/n: it's 18th century britain leon babey! i attempted at making it as accurate as possible, but i did push flexibility in prose and conventions. i'm thinking of making this about five parts, so please let me know if you want to see more! <3 side note: uxuriousness is an 18th century term to be excessively fond of your wife, and maritiousness is a less common word to be excessively fond of your husband. ;)
part 1, part 2, next parts coming soon!
╚══ஓ๑♡๑ஓ══╝
Leon Kennedy, from the period of his last excursion to Spain, was admitted a frequent visitor to the theatre. Not particularly for the novelty of it; in truth he had no interest in watching the actors sing about their prose, but instead for the solitary comfort the booth often provided. To lounge in a padded chair and lose oneself to the idle chatter of the audience below bestowed a barrier that subsided his reserves, his tiring thoughts of blood staining his sword and the cracking of ribs as his weapon sinks between them.
Certainly not for another more pervasive reason. Most definitely not the Lady sitting in the booth across the orchestra, watching the play with rapt interest.
You had become a recent obsession of his, watching every slight change in expression that you wore so freely. Distaste at every nobleman vying for your affections, wistfulness at the chaste kiss between two actors, dejection when the curtains came to a full close. A painful curiosity ignited at your countenance and he could hardly withdraw his eyes from your person until the performance had concluded. Several weeks had passed in this kind of intercourse, content with being an unacknowledged admirer and not letting himself be overcome with more powerful considerations.
That was until he spotted another man in your booth, desperately pleading with your hand in his rigid grip, and that same revulsion in your face, which propelled him upwards. He forbore any immediate inclination to withdraw his sword and allow him the same fate he willingly gave to his enemies for even daring to grab you without permission.
His manners were very much admired in his circle, with many honoured with such an attention as his. It is for this reason that he is sure no true gentleman should ever dare force himself upon a woman, and especially not someone with a countenance more touchingly beautiful than he had ever dared to imagine before.
In descending the last steps of your booth, however, your foot faltered and while Leon hastened to assist you, the man’s grip could no longer sufficiently engage to confine. While you were not materially hurt in your fall, it was reason enough to refuse any gracious acknowledgement from the other man.
“My lord,” Leon derided, standing in the gap between the two. “I believe your presence is wanted elsewhere.”
The man remonstrated, and represented the serious danger that threatened from so rash a proceeding. “My lady,” said he in a solemn voice, “Sir.”
The man quickly departed, as the waning patience of Leon could clearly not have endured the repeated attack on another persons honour. But these cogitations were but of short continuance; they vanished with the appearance of your hand, waiting for his to assist you. He does so, pulling you gently to him, and greeted you with a softness oft unfamiliar to him.
“My lady,” Leon said, folded in a deep bow; “I am sorry, exceedingly sorry, that you may have been given uneasiness.”
He wanted so desperately to bring your hand upwards, to brush his lips against the soft unscarred skin of your knuckles. But he is noble in heart, and too afraid to break convention in a manner of all people, so he acquiesced himself to squeeze it once instead. The accomplished mind of his was more likely to succeed in silent attentions than by a formal declaration of his sentiment.
“Any such sentiment was easily quelled,” you responded, the gentle remonstrances in his favour becoming more pleasing and more convincing. “Thank you, Sir, I felt nothing but surprise at your sudden appearance.”
“Your surprise could not be greater than mine in being noticed by you,” said he, hesitating ever so slightly in his forwardness. “My lady.”
A hint of flush coloured your mottled cheeks that retrimmed the flame building with an ardent fire. “Allow me to thank you, Sir,” you said, retracting your hand from his. “If you are not diverted, to join me.”
The present confliction of passion seemed endless; he had already formed an inkling of affection for someone so far out of his station to even consider a proper courtship, and yet the very idea of never feeling that warmth in his palm again ached fiercely. Perhaps it was simply due to the long stretches of time in which he received none at all, but the crime of engaging in a past attachment was severer and more painful than he had imagined. Your hand was gentle in a manner that he is not, uncalloused where his are weathered from a swords grip.
“I shall,” he replied, allowing for you to seat yourself first before he followed, a timid eagerness in his step.
Leon seized the opportunity thus offered, attempting to converse with you, while he was yet considering what he could say, that might interest and withdraw you from this severe reserve. From the style of your dress, he imagined that you were a person of honourable, yet modest personality, who exhibited an air of comfort in the midst of his usual experience of strict upper-class nobility.
It was something about you, he decided, that circumstance had punished him gravely with your presence. He could not remember a true life without it, for all manner of previous happiness seemed finite in comparison. In fine, you were both infinitely charmed with each other, although you lacked the nerve to voice such affections.
“Are you engaged, my Lady?” he said, in a tone much too hurried for the quiet air of the booth. His brow pinched at the suddenness of the intrusion, at the lack of care in his tone that may have painted him impatient, or at worst, rapacious.
“I fear not,” you laughed, and what a wondrous sound it is. Had you been able to encounter his eyes, you may have seen how well the expression of heartfelt delight lightened them. Feeling all the more common awkwardness and anxiety of the situation, now forced yourself to speak. “Are your affections taken by another?”
“No, my Lady,” said he, “present company excluded.”
You coloured and laughed at his reply, and any guilt of his previous misstep is comforted by the brightness of your gaze, cast upon him of all people. Should the divine have asked him now to give all of him to you, he would have gladly obliged in that very moment, forfeiting all mortal possession and any semblance of self in your honour.
“Are you enjoying the play thus far?” you started, still flushed of the affectionate gallantry that he bestows upon you.
“I do not recollect that I am.”
“You do not enjoy romance?”
“I certainly have not the passion which some people possess,” said Leon, “but I am not steadfast in my conviction.”
You turned to him then, proceeding all the particulars of the romantic genre, and would shortly have recited some very plentiful dictation had Leon not interrupted you once more.
“I have never met anyone of such true enjoyment,” he observed, cutting your speech not out of malice, but of something else entirely. Curiosity, or even sensibility, for he had received all your intelligence with the forbearance of civility.
“Exceedingly so,” you answered, “but I honour your sentiment.”
“My sentiment has changed,” he admitted so fondly, that he feared every fault of his would come to light, “in the presence of such knowledgable company.”
When Leon looked upon you again, surreptitiously enough that you do not notice the length of which he watches you, you watch the two actors embrace each other with welled eyes. Even if Leon never considered himself a poet, surely he could manage a soliloquy that encapsulated the joy in basking at your presence much better than any writer. What fascinating sensibility that you wielded so easily, the same way he holds his weapon, freely and without uncertainty.
The curtains drew shut only moments later, uproarious cheering filling the theatre chambers so any further conversation is halted in its vibrance. You clapped politely beside him, assuming an air of graceful satisfaction, and he clapped in turn, if only to momentarily revel in this moment. Never had he felt so beguiled by a story, attention so pulled by the audience as he did now, supposing that memorizing every detail would supply further dialogue to engage your consideration.
While the audience continued their remarks on the performance, mixed with them many instructions of execution and taste, Leon stands from his seat. Despite the initial surety of his action, a hint of trepidation in his expression gave way to his inability to end a happiness so supreme as to efface all impressions of the past.
“It has been a very agreeable day,” you said to Leon, allowing your hand to be lightly grasped in his. “Never has a play entranced me so. I hope we may often meet again.”
“As do I,” said he, and gave you a final bow, just so you could not see the torment in his expression. Would you let me permit you home, is what he did not say.
“Goodbye, Sir-”
“Leon, my Lady.”
“Goodbye, Sir Leon.” The traces of an unbidden smile once again rises, for now you had a means in which to contact him further, to call upon him the next time you waited his presence.
“I am your humble servant,” said he, trembling with anxiety and sinking with despondency, remained for a moment to gaze upon you, unable to take leave yet irresolute what to say that might prolong the moment occurring.
They took leave of each other; you back to the obligations of the family which expects your maintenance, and he to the tavern to drown the remembrance of his disappointment.

❝ you don’t understand. i need you safe. not because i don’t think you can handle yourself but because i can’t focus on anything else if there’s even the smallest possibility you’re in danger. ❞ -> for wren x leon <3
This prompt was honestly so perfect for them! Thank you so much! I had so much fun writing this and I love them so much.
It was mostly the screaming that made standing there hard, but it didn’t matter, that was secondary. Women and children cried to themselves as I gently pushed their shoulders, urging them along and guiding them to the safe zone as fathers, husbands, and brothers did their best to stay strong. “Nobody panic, just keep moving! We have a safe zone for quarantine set up just over there! Medics will be around to assess you! Food and water will be handed out!” After everything I had seen over the last few years, after everything that happened in Raccoon City, I thought I would be used to it by now, but I didn’t. It wasn’t easier, it never got easier. A woman passed and gripped my hand tightly as I tried to point her in the right direction, but she just sobbed and smiled, thanking me and praying in a language that I didn’t quite understand. All I could do was offer her a reassuring squeeze of her hand in return and gently guide her back to the crowd. “Stay with the crowd, you’re safe now!”
No one replies, I don’t think any of them understand me, but they got the idea enough to go where we needed them. Exhaustion threatened to overcome me, but I forced it down. We had been at this for hours. The outbreak was thankfully limited to a specific area, but that didn’t make it any less heartbreaking to watch, no less traumatic. Some days were harder than others where I was thrown back into my 21-year-old self, frightened and alone, running around a city full of the walking dead. Not entirely alone, I reminded myself, allowing the thought of him comfort me as much as the situation would allow.
I say nothing as Alex appears at my right, standing just behind my shoulder and watching as the last of the stragglers finally stumble into the arms of waiting TerraSave volunteers, all prepared to help those in need. Alex let out a low whistle at the number of people that had been evacuated, but I knew the casualties far outweighed the survivors. They usually did. Eager to shove that thought aside, I finally speak.
“Claire moves fast.”
Alex glanced at me, her dark eyes looking me over carefully. “She doesn’t hesitate to jump to the rescue. It’s one of the reasons I love her. Such a hero. I think she might save us all one day.” I didn’t ignore the way her voice became soft at the mention of her girlfriend, which was so contradictory towards how roughed up she was—grime and blood painting her tan skin too easily.
“Chris?”
“Not sure. Last I heard he was with Jill, but I’m not sure if they’re gonna show up here. Something came up with Imogen.” Another glance from her as I let out a scoff, the redhead immediately making me want to strangle her without her even being present. Sometimes I wondered just how much I could get away with if she ever mysteriously disappeared. “I heard that an agent was sent in. That your boy we should be expecting?”
I tried swallowing, but the arid air seemed to make it impossible. Everything felt so dry even as the sun began to set. It wasn’t that I didn’t know the answer, it was the fact that I knew that answer and it made me even more nervous. I was used to jumping between the Redfields—helping Chris where he needed and offering counseling where Claire wanted to offer it. Alex joked often about how I didn’t know how to stand still, but I was just eager to use every skill I had.
It also made the lonely nights less frequent when he was gone.
“Ah shit, there he is.” Alex called in surprise, her voice taking a lighter tone as her hands rested on her hips. Sure enough, Leon appeared from the crowd with one of the military officers in charge of the security and keeping those things from getting an inch out of the perimeter they had set up. He didn’t look too different than any other time I had seen him, his usual blue shirt with the same damn pants. The leather jacket was a bit new though, not that I exactly minded. Alex sighed. “Does he ever like…change it up? Like, I’m pretty fucking sure he’s had the same damn haircut since I’ve met him. Guess if it works, why fix it?” As if hearing her, Leon’s attention shifted and finally landed on us. The soldier he was talking to said something else, but Leon just nodded without even looking at him before he started walking towards us. Another heavy exhale escaped from Alex. “This is soooo not the double date I had imagined.”
I fight the urge to tell her to fuck off, not when she helped get my mind off things. Alex was a lot of things and dependable was one of them. You could always rely on her to have your back or to joke at the most inappropriate times—sometimes it made me want to hit her, other times it made me want to hug her. As Leon finally came close, his eyes never quite leaving me, I was thankful that Alex stayed. “Leon.”
“Wren.” He breathed out and I almost lost it right then. It had been a while since we had seen each other, one of the longer stints, and it was the constant reminder of the situation—and Alex—that kept the tremble out of my voice and my knees from giving out completely. “I thought you were working with Dr. Spencer.”
“Ainsley is working on something with Rebecca. Carlos volunteered to stay behind—”
Alex snorted. “He practically begged. So whipped—”
“Then we got the call about this.” I finished as I gestured back towards the small town in the middle of nowhere. “We got the call, Chris couldn’t make it out, I guess. Alex and I are here, Claire just got here with TerraSave.”
“Yeah I just saw her.” Leon replied as he looked back, his thumb gesturing over his shoulder. “Seems she’s got her hands a bit full.”
“A bit.” I tried to offer him a smile, but it didn’t quite meet my eyes. This wasn’t the way I wanted us to see each other again. Leon shuffled and crossed his arms over his chest, his eyes glancing at Alex. Taking the hint, she cleared her throat and smiled at me.
“Right, so I think my lovely lady is waiting for me to swoop in and make her life easier by giving her someone she can order around.” She backed away while doing awkward finger guns. “If you need me, radio me.” I gave her a quick nod before turning to Leon.
“They debriefed you.” It wasn’t a question, but he answered anyway.
“They did.” Taking a deep breath, I turn and look back at the town we had just come back from. There were soldiers walking the perimeter, everyone on the lookout just in case. “I have to go in, there’s something I’m ordered to retrieve.”
My head whipped around. “Something here? What?”
“That’s classified—”
“Classified, right.” We finished the sentence at the same time as I nodded. It wasn’t that I was bitter about it, I understood—it wasn’t something I was a stranger to. Glancing towards the town, my heart grew heavy. “Its…just like Raccoon City, huh? Every time we do something good, it’s great. But then…history repeats itself and we’re thrown right back there…” I trailed off with the memories threatening to take over completely. Leon was silent for a moment and as the silence grew tense, I decided to brush it off. “Well…that’s fine. You don’t have to tell me. I’m assuming you’re ready to go?” I barely gave him a chance to nod, I knew him well enough. He didn’t come here totally unprepared. It was a battle to tell him that most of the time, things never went the way we wanted when it came to that. The mission to retrieve Ashley was more than proof of that, but I wasn’t eager to bring that up. “That’s fine. I can grab some ammo and supplies; I’ll go with you. Let me—”
Leon reached out and grabbed my arm gently, stopping me before I could take a full step from him. I frowned as he leaned forward a bit, whispering to me even though it was barely audible with the chaos around us. “No. You should stay here.”
“What?”
“You came here to help Claire, right? Stay and help her.”
I scoffed lightly, almost amused by his words as I gently stepped out of his hold. “I came here to help, period. Now, let me help you.” Leon just shook his head and my brow furrowed. “Why? You know I have your back.”
“I know that.”
“Then what’s the problem? I’m just as good at fighting, Leon. I may not be able to just roundhouse kick someone in the face the way you can, but what I lack in that, I make up in shooting zombies in the face or throwing knives. I’m sure you remember I’m a very good aim with a shotgun.” I argued, throwing in the fond memory of how we met to try and loosen him up, trying to convince him it was fine—I was fine.
He looked away for a moment and shook his head. “I know—Its not about that, Wren.”
“Then what’s it about?” I asked, stepping closer to press him. “C’mon. We’ve worked together before, we do that rather well, if memory serves me right.”
“I said it wasn’t about that—”
“And we’re partners, remember?” I asked, putting up my pinky with a small smile, hoping it hid the hurt or the way my heart was starting to twist in an uncomfortable manner. Leon just looked down at me, his blue eyes full of emotion, and as the seconds passed, I waited but he didn’t lift his pinky. My chest twisted even more as my smile fell, something so small impacted me so greatly as I searched his face, my tightening from the confusion and hurt. “Leon?” This wasn’t what I was expecting. I swallowed as my heart pounded, begging for some sort of answer. I waited for a sarcastic joke, some stupid one liner he’d throw my way that would make me roll my eyes or just tease him right back—flirty and fun banter to keep the dark away. But none of that happened. I clenched my fists tightly as I looked at him fiercely. “Partners. I am coming with you, Leon.”
“No, you’re not. I can’t take you with me, I—just please, stay here. Claire needs the help—”
“You need the help!” I hissed and pointed towards the town. “You need me in there with you. I can fight, Leon. You know I can—”
“Its not about that, Wren.” He repeated earnestly, but I wasn’t having it.
“Then tell me what it’s about Leon, because from where I’m standing, it doesn’t make any fucking sense.”
“You don’t understand.” Leon took a step closer as his voice became full of emotion, his fingers digging into his chest as he continued. “I need you safe. Not because I don’t think you can handle yourself but because I can’t focus on anything else if there’s even the smallest possibility you’re in danger.”
I blinked and stumbled back half a step, not sure exactly how to feel as his words wrapped around my mind and began to truly sink in. Shaking my head in what almost felt like denial, or just not quite understanding the way he seemed to believe, I breathed out in disbelief. “I—Leon, nothing has changed—”
“Everything has changed.” He cut me off as he closed what little distance, I had put between us, and his hands began to cradle my face. “Everything.” I just shook my head more. “Since…fuck, since the beginning. Since we had to fight our way through the city, since…what came after that. Then I thought I lost you, only to run into in that damn village…everything is different.”
“I had your back in all of that.” I insisted, a lump forming in my throat as I gripped his arms tightly, my thumbs rubbing reassuring circles. “We got through all of it fine, we can do this together. We always do.”
“There won’t be a second where I won’t be worried about you, where I could make a mistake because I can’t help but make sure you’re okay.”
“And if you leave me here? How do you think I will feel? Constantly worried, not knowing if you’re getting out alive and wondering if me not going is the very thing that ensures that you don’t?”
Leon jerked back slightly as if he was shocked by the words, but it didn’t last long. “I trust you with my life, but I need you to trust me with it, too. Its…I need you to just sit out on this one.” I go to protest, but he quickly shakes his head as his thumb gently caresses my bottom lip, and I keep silent as he continues. “I just…I know what’s in there, Wren, and I just…need you here.”
“I…I fight all the time, Leon. I work with Chris…” It’s a feeble attempt at this point, we both know it, but he respects it all the same.
“If there’s anyone here that I trust with my life completely, it’s you. Of course it’s you. But fighting in Spain…scared the shit out of me. Just this once, please…just stay.” Leon softly pleaded as he pressed his forehead against mine. “For me.”
The tears were hard to fight when I replied, my voice thick with them. “You better come back, or I’ll kick your ass, Leon Kennedy.” His laugh was more of a sigh of relief as he kissed my forehead.
“I wouldn’t expect anything less.” Pulling away, I glared at him through teary eyes.
“I mean it. If something happens to you, Alex and I are going to drag you out so I can kill you myself.”
“Fair enough.” He offered a slight smile as he raised his pinky. “It’s a promise?” Glaring at him for a few more seconds, I finally wrapped my pinky around his.
“I hate you for this.”
For the first time since he showed his face, he offered his smug smirk, chasing away the heaviness between us. “We both know I’m good at making it up to you. See you soon.” I swallowed the lump in my throat, but my chest continued to ache as he disappeared.
I turned and began to make my way into the quarantine zone, intent on making sure I was so busy that I wouldn’t allow myself to think, and as I spotted and headed towards Alex and Claire, I couldn’t help but mutter to myself. "Just had to fall for the fucking cop.”
#oc: wren blake#leon kennedy#x: my little dark age#the last line was a struggle for me#but honestly i love the idea that wren still gives leon shit#because she still hates cops#but leon also doesn't let her forget she was charmed by the rookie cop on his first day#overall tho its so hard for either of them to watch the other fight alone#but leon is very right in this because they're both focus so much on each other when they fight together#but honestly this is probably a thing that only happens once or twice#because wren can't stand being left behind#and not knowing is far more worse#resident evil 4#resident evil oc

CHAPTER SIX: EMOTIONAL SUPPORT DOG
navi
"what do i wear?" you ask holding up two sweatshirts that nearly looked identical.
nobara huffs before responding, "please just pick one, they look the same babe"
"i can't! am i overthinking? i'm definitely overthinking". you decide to go with the sweatshirt you were holding in your right hand. nobara calls out to you from her room, "he's literally seen you at your worst!"
you assume that she's referring to when you first saw him, when you found out that he existed. that wasn't my worst moment i was cute for a girl in pajamas.
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
you and yuuji are almost to your destination, "you know you sounded like rapunzel asking to see the lanterns when you asked me to drive you"
"oh my god shut up i did not" you say in between giggles. he makes the final turn and there you are, yuta's house.
"oh you're just going to drop me off on the curb like i'm a whore" you say while unbuckling your seatbelt.
only his left hand is on the steering wheel and his head turns very slowly to look at you, "you want me to walk you to the door like i'm dropping you off for a playdate?"
"yeah kinda," you pause to open your door and hop out "it'd be rude if you didn't stop and say hi". the minute you heard him sigh, you knew you'd won.
you greeting yuta was a blur, you can't even remember what stupid shit you did because of your nerves. all you remember was a holy shit you muttered when you saw the entry way, to call it nice was an understatement.
currently, you were sitting criss crossed on the floor with yuta to the left of you. "so wait, you have all the games?"
"yeah! you could play the resident evil 4 remake since it's still kind of trending?" he stares at you and there's a short moment of silence before he continues, "only if you want to though, you'll have the controller, not me".
you give him a reassuring smile, "yeah that's fine! beware I am going to die though". he laughs and you swear its the cutest thing you've ever heard "it's okay, i can walk you through it" shutupshutup oh my god i'm going to scream.
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
"wait why are they jumping him. just make friends with them duh”
“yn, you have to fight back” the stress was very adamant in his tone. "i can't. i wasn't paying attention when they gave instructions. . ." you glance over to the chat to see a mix of yours and yuta's fans laughing at you.
he reaches over to grab the controller from your hands, but not without "accidentally" ghosting over both of your hands holding the controller.
you watched the screen and took an occasional glance at the stream. you figured you should probably figure out what buttons he's pressing, so you look down at his hands which were actually quite nice. no dirt under them, hang nails, or anything else, it almost made you forget why you looked over at them.
"there", he says while handing the controller back to you. "dude where the fuck did you go?" you'd ended up in a completely different spot from where you initially were. "hey, i put you on the right path. you ran like, too far from where you were actually supposed to be"
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
"okay guys! i think that's it for today my back is starting to hurt, and i'm sick of someone criticizing me" you're staring directly at the chat while you say this.
"i wasn't criticizing! i mean i was, but it was helpful" he continues, "this is our first time hanging out and you're already trying to get rid of me"
"whatever. anyways bye guys!" you say while ending the stream. you bring both hands up and behind your head to stretch
"i'm hungry, i think i'm going to text yuuji to come get me"
"you don't have to, i can take you back and stop and get something, if thats okay with you?"
teehee... do we like?
my brain was cooking but my fingers were not. do y'all fw ihop? i might make ihop the stop.
didn’t proofread this 😭

Chapter 1: The Opportunity
You were sitting on the couch in the hotel lobby reading a book. The hotel around you was bustling. A lot of new residents had come to stay after the last extermination. Being a weekend the bar was full of folks. Several people sat at the dining table, eating and playing cards. Alastor sat down next to you, also holding a book.
“Mind if I join you?” he asked.
“No not at all,” you smiled and returned to your literature.
You’d been at the hotel for about a month. You were aware of Alastor and his reputation as an overlord. You had only a few interactions with him. All of which were pleasant, you found him charming, handsome and maybe a bit intimidating. You didn’t trust him but also didn’t feel like there was anything he had to gain from you. This made you feel relatively safe around him.
You hadn’t noticed how he watched you from the corner of his eye whenever you were near. How distracting your scent was. How charming he found your laugh to be. How you invaded his thoughts. He eavesdroped on conversations, learning about you without interacting. Biding his time, waiting for an opportunity. And here it was.
Alastor’s tentacles held his book up before him, turning the pages. He sipped his coffee freely.
“Well that’s handy,” you remarked.
“Indeed it is. They have many uses,” he said casually.
A tentacle passed through the middle of the book. It was discorporate and less opaque than the tip of the tentacle which still was able to move the page.
“Oh, that's neat. It can switch between being shadowy and being corporal?”
”Why yes it can. It can pass through any physical object really,” he smirked. “Just like this..”
“Like wha—oh..” you were cut off.
You felt a wispy shadow permeate through the underside of the couch, coporializing where it met your body. The tip of it glided between your folds. You softly gasped as you looked at Alastor wide-eyed.
“Are you alright my dear? You look as if you’ve seen a ghost,” he remarked, grinning.
“Aahh…fucck,” you bit your lip as it slid back and forth over your clit. “...please.”
“Mmm. I do like begging,” he mused.
“You are a.. special kind ..of evil,” your eyelids fluttered as the shadow penetrated you. “Oh fuck..”
“Yes, I’m afraid so,” he said with amusement. “But judging by how you are clenching my dear, I can’t help but think you are enjoying it.”
And you were.
You glanced around the lobby, there were several people close enough to hear you if you made too much noise. You couldn’t believe what was happening, or how wet you were from it. Maybe it was the fear of getting caught or the excitement of Alastor’s forwardness, but you’d do anything he told you to do, as long as he didn’t stop.
Please, don’t stop.
You very slowly tensed your muscles and grinding into the apparition. You held your book up to hide your face, you could feel your cheeks getting hot and red. You bit your lip as the appendage thrusts deeper into you. A small whimper escaped your lips.
“My my, such a good girl,” he remarked as he pretended to read his book. “If you can stay quiet and unnoticed, I’ll give you a nice reward for being well-behaved.” You swallowed hard, feeling the tension build up inside of you. “But, if you make any noise, you will be punished. Do you understand?” he instructed, voice now less playful. You nodded. “Good.”
The tentacle thickened its girth and picked up its pace, pummeling your cervix. Wet squelching sounds echoed under you. You gripped the edges of your book until your knuckles were white. Your jaw started to shake, trying to clench it shut. You wanted to moan and cry out, holding your breath so as not to make any sounds.
“Alastor!” Charlie called out across the room, causing you to tense. “Meeting in 10 minutes!”
“Very well, dear,” he responded in a nonchalant way. “Be right there.”
The idea of Charlie almost catching you sent a chill down your spine. Throbbing pleasure knotted up, pounding towards release. Your toes were pointed, feet shaking. Your whole body seized as you came. Soaking into your already wet underwear. You gasped for air as softly as you could. And like that, the tentacle was gone, leaving you empty and dripping. Wanting more. You slouched onto the couch, panting.
“Mm. Well wasn’t that delightful?” Alastor sounded proud of himself, closing his book and standing up. He leaned over and pulled your chin up to look at him. “I will see you very soon, pet.”

Resident Evil 4: Seperate Ways
THE FLIRTING GAMES: Luis Serra x fem!reader
Summary: It sounded like an easy job - get in, grab the Amber and get out... Yet it became pretty complicated the moment she met Luis Serra.
Notes: English isn't my first language. I apologize for any mistake I may have made while I wrote this short story.
Guess who's back in her RE4 obsessed era!
Warnings: swearing, mentioned death, Ada is our bestie, Leon and Wesker cameo
•••
Meeting Don Quixote
The footsteps sounded awfully loud in the room as Luis Serra danced around to a beat only he knew and no one else.
She looked at him through the thin material of the white dress Ada had put on her, before sending her off to find this Luis Serra while she kept the castle halls clean from monsters.
Serra had a handsome face, nice legs and awesome dance moves with a hint of elegance.
Ada had said that Luis was a clever researcher, who had the Amber. Well, he was good looking too and he was a good dancer with great fashion sense. That part Ada had left out of her report on Luis.
She looked aside, smiling as she appreciated what she was seeing, and hit her two 'friends' on the head with the lantern she was holding. She then kicked their burning bodies aside as she took off the white dress to finally look at the man in front of her without any distraction.
Luis looked at her, his eyes moving up and down on her body, and suddenly she was very thankful that Ada had full control over her closet.
Luis had a beautiful smile. It seemed playful and charming - and the thought that he was most definitely a ladies' man slowly occured in her brain.
"Luis Serra?" she asked as she tilted her head, letting her gaze rest on his body. "Nice moves you got there."
Luis stepped toward her with the same amount of elegance he used for his dancing, his hands were almost touching her waist. Their faces were pretty close, their eyes met, both pair having the same amount of playfulness.
"Muchas gracias, señorita." the way his lips moved while speaking Spanish stirred something inside her - something warm.
"Perhaps you'll teach me some one day."
Luis' face turned a light shade of red and she felt pride appear in her chest. She managed to make him blush.
"It'd be my pleasure." he tilted his head. "Did you bring something for me?"
"Oh." she reached inside her pocket and showed him the pack of cigarettes she was carrying around. "Ada said I should give you these."
Her fingers moved quickly as she took a single cigarette from its box and put it between Luis' lips. Before his hands could move to get his lighter, she already reached into her pocket once again. This time she had a cheap, plastic lighter in her hand and she carefully lit Luis' cigarette.
She saw something change in his eyes and her stomach was stirred again.
"Just the kind I like." said Luis, after he was holding the cigarette between his fingers.
They kept their eyes on the other as the cigarette slowly burned away -- until a gunshot could be heard from upstairs. Her whole body went rigid as she remembered why she was in the cell and who was waiting for her.
She stepped away, breaking the trance Luis' presence had put her in.
"Where's the Amber? Ada said you'd have it."
"I had it." Luis confessed. "But I had to stash it right before I got caught. I can lead you to it though."
She smiled as his flirty act broke.
"Lead the way then."
Luis stepped out of the cell and threw the cigarette aside. Then he bowed as if he'd be the perfect gentleman waiting for his lady to make the first move.
"Ladies first."
She had to surpress a grin.
"And they say chivalry is dead."
•••
A gentleman in trouble
"Are you angry?" Luis asked as he walked around awkwardly, not really finding his place when he was talking to an upset Ada Wong. "You're angry... Listen, there's this one thing I have to do before I can recover the Amber."
She was watching him from her place against a table. She watched his movements, she listened to his voice - and she had to say, he was absolutely perfect.
They were great acquaintances by then.
Luis had contacted her more times then she could count on both of her hands, and she answered his calls each and every time. It didn't matter that she had to put Wesker or Ada on hold for it. Luis was more fun, more important. He was the playfulness she had always been missing from her life.
Ada's movements seemed dangerously slow.
"Before?" she asked.
Luis didn't answer and the room turned quiet. This time around even she could feel the upcoming storm and she was standing confidently on her feet by the time Ada pointed her gun at him.
Luis seemed shocked and scared - he raised his hands as if they could protect him from Ada's gun. She felt a sense of fear run through her veins too. She didn't like Luis' situation and she didn't want him to get shot because of the stupid Amber Wesker wanted so badly.
"This isn't a negotiation, Luis. So choose your next words wisely."
She stepped between Ada's gun and Luis quickly. She could clearly see the confusion in Ada's eyes as she realized she was no longer pointing the weapon at Luis, but at her own partner.
"Whoa, Ada! There's no need for this." she argued.
"We're wasting time here. You know he doesn't like it when we're wasting our time."
"Since when do we care about what he likes?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. "The only way he's getting the Amber is through Luis. And threatening him or shooting him won't make our job easier."
Ada looked her in the eyes. Their gazes met without a single blink. Then, after a few seconds, something close to understanding ran though Ada's eyes and she lowered her handgun.
She tilted her head in a silent question only they could understand - and when she nodded Ada gave her a sad look full of pity.
They were in the same boat.
"What do you need to do?" Ada asked instead of threatening to shoot Luis again.
She could feel him relax behind her. And finally she could breathe again.
"Someone needs my help."
"Leon and Ashley?" she asked as she turned around to look at him.
Luis just nodded and she could feel rather than see Ada's body freeze. She tried to push back a sad smile - oh yes, they were in the exact same fucking boat.
"They are both infected." Luis explained and she felt a small amount of sadness run through her - she always liked Leon, and Ashley Graham seemed like a nice, young girl. "And you know me-- always the good Samaritan! They need this medicine and I can make it. I know it works, because... you see, I used it-- on myself."
Her lips curled upwards.
Luis was a nice guy. Someone who wants to help and make his past mistakes right. She could understand that; she could respect that. She liked him a lot more because of that.
"Why should I care?"
She almost rolled her eyes in annoyance. Denial didn't look good on Ada Wong at all.
She cares. She has always cared - especially about Leon Kennedy.
"Because you too are infected..."
Fear was a long forgotten feeling for her, yet in that moment is overcame her like a strong wave. She looked at Ada in shock, silently begging her to say something; to deny it.
Yet Ada stayed quiet. Which meant that Luis was right. Which meant that she was slowly loosing herself.
"It's what I researched for all these years, Ada. And I see the symptoms already showing in your eyes." fueled with anger from the fact that Ada didn't tell her about her being infected, she took a close look at her eyes and Luis was right - thin, tiny, black veins were running along in Ada's eyes, making them look sick and dark. "You must already feel the effects, ey?" Luis asked as he slowly began to walk around in the room, until he stopped above a trapdoor. "The medicine will stop them for a time. Just-- trust me. You have a lot to gain and nothing to lose."
She turned to look at Ada again, who seemed to accept her fate with a cold expression.
"Ok." she said. "We do this first and then the Amber."
While Luis let Leon know that he'll give them the medicine what'll help them with the infection, she kept on looking at Ada. She looked at her calm face and stern expression.
Ada was always confident with an added elegance what made her even more pretty and desirable. But despite her confidence, someone had to worry about her well-being too. And that role was hers.
Ada Wong won't be dying in Spain anytime soon - she told herself as Luis opened the trapdoor.
Ada was the first one who jumped down the hatch, and she was about to follow her, when Luis grabbed her wrist.
She looked up at him, feeling a strange sense of shyness as his hand touched hers.
"Thank you." he said with a small, honest smile - without his usual charming grin. "For helping me."
"You have nothing to say thank you for. Especially because you're the one who'll help us."
She was about to try and jump down again, but Luis' grip on her wrist tightened.
"Why?"
She raised her eyebrows in confusion. "'Why' what?"
"Why did you help me?"
She tilted her head slightly, not daring to look him in the eye.
Why? That's a good question, isn't it? A question only Ada knows the answer to.
"I like you, Luis." she confessed as she looked him in the eye, smiling when she found endearment in them. "I want to get you out of here." her lips curled upwards as she decided to make the moment 'them'-like. "Besides... You're too handsome to let a bullet wound destroy your pretty face."
She waited until he fully understood her words and the light shade of red took control over his face. She liked to see him blush. She liked to make him blush even more.
She jumped down the hatch before Luis could have a chance to say anything charming to her. She landed on her feet and when she stood up she could see Ada standing not so far away with a patient, knowing smile on her face.
Luis landed not so far away from her. Their bodies were almost touching the other's, and this time Luis seemed to collect himself and regain his usual charm.
His right hand touched her face gently as he put a lock of hair behind her ear.
"I can't wait for you to get me out of here, so we can have that dance, guapa."
Luis waited until the pink color appeared on her cheeks, then he let go of her hair and started to play with his lighter as he began to lead the way toward his laboratory.
Ada gave her a headtilt.
"Oh, shut up!" she said with a pout, even though her face was burning.
•••
La asistente
She looked at the blue butterfly she was holding, her thumb gently stroking its wings.
So pretty, yet so fragile... Just like humanity itself. It got harder and harder to keep it together and save it from harm. Save it from people like Wesker...
If Wesker wants something, it's because the thing is powerful. Powerful enough to destroy billions of people, if not humanity itself.
Wesker wanted to be a god, that's why she disliked him so much. She never liked a man whose ego was bigger than his bookshelf. Yet Wesker was a paying customer - and in today's economy money was everything.
Then why did she feel so guilty about helping him? About giving him power so he could give her money?
Maybe-- maybe if Luis is trying to do the right thing after all those years working for Umbrella, then she could try to follow his steps too.
A quiet noise got her back to reality, and she put the butterfly away - making sure it was safe in the small black bag attached to her left thigh -, so she could answer the call. It was from Luis; and the fact itself made her smile - or rather grin like a schoolgirl.
"You rang?" she asked sweetly, enjoying the smile she could see on Luis' face.
"Just wanted to make sure my favourite asistente is doing okay."
His favourite asistente. How sweet. Perhaps taking the job offer was a good thing - thanks to that, she met Luis Serra. She'd miss him from her life if she didn't know him.
"Your asistente has just finished her task, doc." she said. "How's Ada doing?"
"She already has the red ink." answered Luis.
"One more to go then." she sighed, but moments later her wide smile was back on her face. "Do you think she can handle the last ingredient by herself? We could share a break together perhaps..."
She could see Luis smirk through the bad quality of the transmitter.
"Or perhaps we could make dinner plans, ey?" Luis stopped talking for a while, he seemed to be deep in thought. "Tell me, señorita, have you ever tried salmorejo?"
"I can't say I have."
Luis chuckled.
"Well, then you will, after we get out of here." he explained, not taking 'no' for an answer. "And then I'll take you dancing."
She felt the need to twirl her hair around her fingers like a girl - and she almost did. Almost.
But then she decided to just widen her smile instead.
"It's a plan." she agreed and she could see the happiness in Luis' eyes. "So, where should we meet up?"
After, as she put her transmitter away, she decided that she'd try. She'd try to do better. For Luis.
•••
Becoming the blue butterfly
She finished painting the red 'This way!' sign on the floor, just in time, because Luis finished scribbling his letter down to Ada as well. The man let the letter rest on the desk, hoping that Ada'll be the one who'll find it.
She put the red spray paint in her bag, then she sighed loudly.
Ada was in the trouble the last time they've seen her. The medicine Luis had given her was working slowly, therefore she seemed weak, barely standing on her two feet. Still, Ada wanted her to go with Luis - so she did.
She just hoped that her gut was right about Ada Wong and Spain won't become her grave.
"Ready?" Luis asked and she nodded. "Well then, let's go and find Sancho, ey?"
She appreciated his attempt at humor, she really did. But in that moment Ada and her well-being was all she could think about. The worst thought was that she was in serious danger, a danger Wesker could overcome in seconds - he just chose not to. Ada wasn't worth it for him - heck, she wasn't worth it for him.
"Princesa..." Luis began again as he stepped toward her, his fingers touching her hair. "Ada will be okay. Deep down you know that."
He tried to be comforting, even if he himself had his doubts. She could see it in his eyes; the small amount of fear, the 'what if...' questions... Still, she was thankful that he tried.
"I know." she chuckled sadly. "Hell, I'm pretty sure the only person who can kill Ada is Ada." Luis gave her a weak smile. "It's not just the infection, or Ada, or Leon... it's just-- everything. This damn mission, I can't fucking do it, Luis. I can't take the Amber. If I do, people will die. Lots of people. I feel like all my life I've been doing bad things, and only bad things. And I wanna make them right, I do, I just don't know where to start..."
Luis gently held onto her shoulders, his thumbs touchings her neck slightly. He had the most understanding look on his face she has ever seen. He seemed calm and collected - and so, so beautiful.
"I know the feeling, guapa. Believe me, I really do. I've done things, many things, I'm not proud of and I, too, want to make them right."
"Well, where do we start?" she asked, her lips trembling.
"We have to start small, don't we?" Luis asked and she nodded. "Well then we go and find Leon. We give him the medicine so him and Ashley will feel better. After, we'll lead them to my laboratory and you'll help me remove the plaga from them. How does that sound?"
"Good." she smiled. "Like the best job I've ever had."
Luis let go of her shoulders and she already missed his touch.
"It's a good thing you're my best asistente."
She chuckled at his words, then licked her lips so they wouldn't stay dry. She could feel the small cut on her lower lip with her tounge.
"Luis?"
"What is it, princesa?"
"Just so you know..." she began as she took an unsure, careful step toward Luis, and put her hand on his chest, her fingers playing with his jacket's zipper. "You are the best part of this damn job."
She leaned in to close the gap between them, but Luis was quicker.
His hands landed on both sides of her face, his thumbs drawing gentle circles into her skin - then he pulled her close and suddenly his lips were touching hers.
She sighed as he began kissing her, his mouth swallowing her every noise. The kiss wasn't at all fast or rough; no, it was slow, sweet, yet so full of passion she had to dig her fingers into his leather jacket, so her knees wouldn't buckle.
Damn, Luis Serra was perfect.
He was charming, smart, sweet, funny and he could kiss her to death in a heartbeat.
In those moments, as their tounges were dancing together, not at all fighting for dominance, she swore she'd do anything to start over with him.
She pulled away to breathe, her chest raising and falling quickly.
"Well princesa," Luis began with a grin. "I'm glad the feeling is mutual."
•••
Cheating fate
She was holding onto Luis tight as they both landed on the ground. She could hear her bones crack as she landed on the hard floor, and soon her muscles began to burn from the pain.
She looked at Luis' face, what was so close to hers she could feel his weak, shallow beaths on her skin. His face was pale as small droplets of blood ran down his lips.
In her eyes Luis was beatiful - he had all those emotions he wasn't afraid to show; happiness, joy, calmness, sadness... Still, her favourite was when his lips curled upwards, forming a charming grin as he said something flirty.
In that moment the only feeling she could see on Luis' face was pain. And she absolutely hated that.
A quiet squelching sound could be heard, and Luis' eyes widened. Krauser pulled his knife out. He pulled the damn knife out! She felt panic take over as she tried to climb out from under Luis' arm. God damn it, he's going to bleed out!
"Major Krauser! What-- why?" she could barely hear Leon's words as her panic took over.
"Recovering stolen goods." Krauser took the Amber from Luis' jacket, and stepped onto her hand when she tried to push herself up to see how bad Luis' injury was. "And killing a few rats along the way."
She groaned in pain. In reality she wanted to scream. She wanted to kick and claw; she wanted to shoot Krauser to death or stab him until he was a bloody mess.
"Easy work." Krauser stood up and walked toward Leon, finally leaving her alone.
"Ashley... it was you."
"You catch on quick."
Her hands were shaking as she tried to take a good look at the wound on Luis' back.
Thankfully she noticed the suspicious shadow behind Luis right before the knife hit him - she had to thank Ada for her great reflexes. The knife still got him deep and bad, but it luckily avoided his spinal chord.
The wound was under his right shoulder, next to his arm. She hissed as she looked at it and quickly tore her dress, then took off Luis' jacket so she could put pressure on the wound.
She dumbly noted that Leon was having a one on one fight with Krauser.
"Princesa..." Luis mumbled as she sat him up.
"Sh, don't talk." she managed to say as tears threatened to fall from her eyes. "Don't-- you need your strength."
"I-- we need to help Leon."
She turned to look at Kennedy who successfully avoided Krauser's attack, and pushed the larger male on the ground. He was handling it just fine.
"No. No, he's fine. Leon's fine." she argued as she tied pieces of her torn dress together, so she'd be able to tie the thing around Luis' body, hoping it'd keep enough pressure on his wound while she took him off the damn island. "And you'll be fine too. You have to be. This will keep pressure on the wound until we get out of here and--"
"Princesa." Luis said again, looking up at her weakly through hooded eyes. "I think we have to change our plans."
She shook her head; no. A thick, heavy tear fell from her eye and many more were following it.
"No!" she finished her makeshift dressing as the word broke out of her - the dressing seemed fine, blood wasn't pouring out of his wound anymore, and it seemed strong enough to hold out until she found some thread and a needle to stitch him up. "Don't you say that, you hear me? You promised me a dance after we get out of here. You promised we'd have salmorejo for dinner, because I've never tasted that before... So don't you change our damn plans! You promised, Luis Serra, and a gentleman always keeps his promises..."
Luis smiled at her weakly.
"Just so you know, guapa... You're the best thing that happened to me."
She pushed her lips together, forming a thin, angry line.
"Don't you say goodbye! Don't you fucking--"
Quiet footsteps could be heard from behind and she grabbed her gun before turning around, thinking it'd be Krauser she'd see. To her surprise Ada was the one standing in front of her with an emotion she couldn't read.
Ada looked at the wounded Luis, who was smiling up at her through the blood in his mouth; then she looked at her and her teary eyes.
"Did you stop the bleeding?" Ada asked and she nodded. "Good, then give him this." Ada gave her a strange, green and yellow colored mixture. "It takes a few moments to kick in, but it'll help with the pain."
Ada waited patiently until she forced the mixture down Luis' throat, who started coughing, but slowly turned less and less pale.
"Ada--"
"Now listen to me-- I'll help Leon and after the fight's over, you'll get out of here with Luis. There's a boat on the western coast. Use it and get out."
She blinked her tears away.
Get out. She knew what Ada meant. She was giving her an out - a way out of this life, a chance to live a happy, long life with Luis, far away from people like Albert Wesker.
"But..."
"Get out of here, Y/N. And safely. I'll handle Wesker."
Ada leaned down and kissed her forehead, showing her a sign of love she never knew she had.
Soon, Ada shot Krauser's knife out of his hands - just in time, since Leon's luck slowly began to run out.
While Ada talked to Krauser, she leaned down and gave her lover a kiss on the lips. It was barely a peck, yet Luis seemed to appreciate the gesture.
"See, Luis?" she asked with a smile. "We'll have that dance one way or another."
•••
Defying a god
Ada watched as her ex-partner in crime helped Luis into an elevator, while Leon went on his seperate way to find Ashley Graham and get the parasite out of her by using Luis' laboratory.
She smiled when Luis leaned against the elvator's wall and held onto his girlfriend's hand, kissing her knuckles.
Just because she and Leon have to go their seperate ways, they don't.
She called Wesker right after all three of them were out of sight.
"I really hope you have good news."
"Y/L/N is dead." Ada said without a single emotion, knowing fully well how good Wesker is at reading people. "She died trying to protect Serra, who was attacked by Krauser. They are both dead. Krauser has the Amber now."
"Good. She has always been a dead weight anyway. An extra problem, too weak to act like she should've... She was always too emotional. And you-- I suggest you hurry. You know that I don't like to wait around. Get me the Amber!"
Ada ended the call and put the transmitter away.
She never thought of her as dead weight. She liked her. She was humane even with a job like theirs. She was way better than Wesker in her book.
Ada really hoped she'll have a great life - a life she herself envied, yet knew she'd never have.

Resident Evil 4
(M/n) stumbled as he got back on his feet, the wound above his brow was gushing blood very rapidly, making him grow dizzier the longer it passed. He blinked a couple of times, trying to focus his sight ahead, his feet struggling to make him stand up again, his arms trembling as they pushed his torso off the ground.
Grunting in pain, (M/n)'s blurry sight was soon met with a pair of military combat boots, he gritted his teeth as he refused to believe this is where he dies, under the hands of the man he once trusted with his life.
"Poor, poor lieutenant," the man bent his knees and reached his hand to hold (M/n)'s chin in his hand, the sadistic glint in his eyes made (M/n)'s stomach turn, watching how his smirk grew wider, "Time to say goodbye."
The last thing he saw was Krauser's fist inching closer to his face at an alarming velocity, and if even he wanted, he couldn't dodge the punch that landed on his face, knocking him unconscious soon after.
//////
The feeling of his head throbbing woke him up, but he couldn't open his eyes, and he couldn't move either. The swinging of his body side to side made him realize that he was being carried like a potato sack, hearing the quiet humming of Krauser's voice as he took him somewhere he didn't know.
The sound of a big door reached his ears, soon entering a room with a nice echo, it sounded like the room was pretty much empty, and (M/n) still continued trying to open his eyes, tried to fight Krauser's grip off his body, but it was useless, his body was numb, his head throbbing, he couldn't feel half of his face and he definitely didn't have the energy or strength to take on Krauser at the time.
So he stayed there, completely quiet, trying to remain somewhat conscious.
"Where'd you want 'im?" Krauser asked to someone in the room with them, and (M/n) was frightened for a moment, they hadn't made a single sound so they never made themselves present to (M/n)'s hearing.
"Over there," a raspy, horse voice said, and Krauser groaned a positive response as he continued to take him away to wherever he was taking him. The squeaky sound of wheels echoed in the room, and he soon was laid on what he recognized as a hospital gurney, then footsteps getting closer to him after Krauser walked away got him on edge.
"It's time to join us, my child."
He felt something sharp and cold pressing against his neck, pressing until it pierced the soft skin and he could feel how something slithered its way inside his body.
"It's just a matter of time before you become one of us," he felt an icy cold hand pressing against his forehead, moving his hair away, before turning around and leaving him all alone in that cold room.
He's not sure for how long he remained conscious, but he ended up giving up on keeping himself awake.
//////
The car ride was silent as he looked out the window, getting a view of the place he was approaching.
His mind raced over the same words, like a song getting stuck in your head, one that you can't get rid of.
"Whilst rescuing the president's daughter is your main priority, the higher-ups want you to get any idea as to what happened to Lieutenant Colonel (L/n), Leon, can you do that?" He had responded that he will do what he can, but he knew he was gonna go look for whatever he needed to know his superior's whereabouts.
He heard both cops talking amongst themselves, understanding bits and pieces of their conversation, it varied from paperwork, annoying superiors back at the office, football, and then him, but Leon just ignored them, remembering that he was gonna be dropped off near where (M/n) had his last communication before going M.I.A.
Images flashed across his mind, all the moments he got to spend time with (M/n) when he had just been recruited, yet being assigned under Major Krauser's command to assist his training. It had been a while since he saw any of them, being occupied with their own missions and tasks ahead. One of which he was assigned after (M/n)'s sudden dissaperence almost two weeks ago.
He was just hoping that he was still alive, even if Leon knows how capable (M/n) was of taking care of himself, something didn't sit right with him about the whole situation.
And damn, sometimes he wishes to be wrong about his gut feelings.
//////
Krauser walked into the camera room where Saddler had been observing the American forastero killing everyone in sight, no second thoughts about them, and Saddler was incredibly mad about it, not caring anymore if he had also been blessed and was allowed to carry the same sacred body as them.
The scarred blond observed the cameras and recognized that "precious" rookie of (M/n)'s.
"So that bastard was sent here, huh?" Saddler turned to look at Krauser, who leaned against the door frame, looking into the screen with hatred burning in his icy blue eyes.
"So you know who he is?" Krauser scoffed, and glanced back at (M/n) who was laying on the same hospital gurney, completely immovable as he stared seemingly into the void. He had turned into nothing but a lifeless puppet, and yet, his body hasn't shown signs of La Plaga spreading.
But it was there, especially noticeable when Saddler talked to him, his eyes would turn bright red, and black veins would crawl up his neck momentarily, before returning back to his catatonic self.
"That bastard," Krauser pointed at the screen where Leon was shown, "Was that bastard's favourite recruit," he continued nodding his head toward (M/n), "Makes me sick," he grunted with gritted teeth.
Saddler looked at (M/n) and observed the images la plaga had copied from the parts of his memories it's managed to gather, and he witnessed from (M/n)'s eyes how much he cared for that young man, always there to guide and help him, providing the comfort he longed for.
"Ooh, how amazing it'll be," Krauser looked at Saddler with a questionable look on his face, "To betray that trust..." He spoke while walking closer to (M/n), "Take him to that forastero, he'll be the ace under my sleeve."
Something about the thought of having (M/n) against Leon made him almost burst out laughing, moving to stand right next to Saddler, as he started controlling (M/n)'s movements, maintaining eye contact with his now red eyes.
"Your new mission... Is to kill Leon Kennedy, child," (M/n) stood up with wobbly legs and bowed to Saddler.
"Yes, sir."
His new order had reached la plaga inside him, being taken away by Krauser as soon as Saddler allowed him to.
//////
Leon was beyond stressed, but he was still determined to complete the mission, but right now, he had to find Ashley, maybe on his way to her he'll be able to get a better lead on what had happened to (M/n).
He just hoped that the ride in the underground mines with Luis could help him with that.
The lift ride was quick, and somehow a blur to Leon, since the first thing he saw when he turned around was Luis falling on the ground, the silhouette of a muscular man approaching him as he crouched to pull the dagger out of Luis' back.
The encounter with Krauser was anything but pleasant, yet somehow his body was able to remember his attacking and blocking patterns, including the one movement that (M/n) taught him to be able to win against Krauser in a 1v1 fight.
And the scarred blond wasn't happy about it. He scoffed and frowned, jumping and landing behind Leon quicker than he could react, but before he could remotely get closer to his vital point, the sound of a gun being fired caught them off guard. They both turned and saw that Luis had gathered enough strength to take his gun out and pull the trigger to save Leon, Krauser let out a dry chuckle and retrieved his dagger, jumping and landing on an elevated surface, about to return the way he came before stopping and glancing down at Leon over his shoulder.
"Oh! I almost forgot!" He chuckles again, but it's a sinister chuckle that makes Leon grip the handle of his pistol on instinct, "I left a gift for you, rookie, you better find him quickly, the clock is ticking and the oxygen is running out," with a boisterous laugh he left.
Leon ran toward Luis, spending his last moments with him, watching as he exhaled his last breath, the lit cigarette falling out of his parted lips, the lit end landing on the pool of blood that had formed underneath him, turning itself off.
Placing Luis' lighter back in his its hand, Leon said goodbye to the Spanish male and took a deep breath, standing up and looking around the place he was.
Krauser's words resonated in his head again, the vague mention of a 'him' being here, as a gift for him...
Leon had no idea how long had Krauser been in Spain, but if his gut feeling was right again, then he must be-
"(M/n)?!" He screamed whilst he ran around looking everywhere he could think of, "Where could he...?" He stood still and his eyes caught sight of a pile of scattered crates, and one stood out the most. It was slightly bigger than the others, but it also had 'LEON' engraved on the wood, obviously done with a sharp object. Like a knife, or a dagger, "Lieutenant!" He screamed once again, running toward the wooden crate as fast as he could.
He rushed to push off the smaller crates on top of the lid, his hands trembling as he opened it, observing the poor state (M/n) was in.
"Sir!" Leon struggled to pull (M/n) out of it, falling on the floor with his arms wrapped around him, "Sir, sir!" He yelled as he sat up, shaking his superior with a desperate tone in his voice, " Please, wake up!"
As he came back to life, (M/n) took a sharp breath in, coughing some dust and dirt that had gotten in his mouth and nose, his hands gripping onto Leon's chest strap and skintight shirt.
Looking up, (M/n) made eye contact with Leon's worried eyes, a glint of relief at seeing him alive and in his arms.
"Leon...?" (M/n)'s voice was grumble-y and hoarse, blinking slowly and looking at him as if he was nothing but a hallucination.
"Hello, sir, it's nice seeing you again," he responded with a hint of a smile on his face, making him look even prettier than usual. His blue eyes trailed down (M/n)'s body, blushing a cute pink when he realized that his clothes were in a less-than-ideal shape. His shirt had ripped open where he could see knife cuts, showing off part of his abdomen and chest, the jacket he wore wasn't looking its best, but it seemed to be covering more ruptures in his clothing, which Leon was glad for.
This was definitely not the time nor place to be feeling like this about his superior.
//////
Every few meters they walked, Leon had to look back at (M/n) who didn't seem to be in peak shape, which he could understand after everything that he has gone through, he could imagine (M/n) going through worse until he found him.
And that lead him to the question... What happened to (M/n) after his last communication with base?
Hopping together in the fancy-looking cable car on their way to the clock tower, Leon stares at (M/n) as the male swung side to side very slightly, hardly noticeable, he almost seemed in a trance. "What happened, sir? When you came here?"
(M/n) blinked once, twice and his eyes opened wide, a wince leaving past his lips when he saw the images of what had happened. The images were blurry, and he could feel his blood boiling inside him, the knowledge of what was in him remained in his mind, something he was ordered to keep to himself by Saddler.
But why was he following his orders anyway?
That quiet thought was the first step to breaking the chain connecting him to Saddler through la plaga.
He clenched his jaw, closed his hands tightly, and approached the gold edge, leaning over to observe the night sky.
"I was following the lead to finding Ashley, and I met up with Krauser before I reached the village..." He trailed on because he wasn't exactly sure what happened after that, "He... He ambushed me and took me away, I don't remember much after that," he looked back at Leon, who was frowning at the information provided, "Sorry, Leon."
Leon watched how (M/n) smiled at him, that same gentle and understanding, comforting smile he always showed him, his hand raising to slowly move a stray lock of blond hair away from his face. Something about (M/n)'s actions and the way he looked at him made his heart race, he just felt like when he first met the male, flustered, intimidated, and safe. A weird and odd combination of feelings, but (M/n) managed to cause those in him, and many more.
(M/n) had always treated him right back when he was first recruited for this "special agents" training, and whilst Krauser was the one beating the shit out of him until he learned, (M/n) taught him in a way that he was able to understand better, that's how he learned the move that could potentially help him win a 1v1 against Krauser, it just had to be done at the right time. That was another reason for Krauser to hate him more as the years passed, despite having (M/n) as his superior.
Krauser had seen (M/n) smiling down at Leon when the rookie had managed to pin him down with a move he recognized as (M/n)'s. He had seen countless times how (M/n) praised and was always nice to the blond rookie, who had managed to remain being his puppy self when he was around the (h/c) haired male.
Just like how he was right now. Leon had always heard nice words about (M/n), and he got to witness that firsthand during the first trainee evaluation. Every instructor was there, and so were their respective recruits, and of course, Leon saw (M/n) standing there, serious eyes observing every move they did, down to the smallest details and mistakes they did.
Unfortunately, Leon's team had an uneven number of recruits, so he was paired up with his instructor, Krauser, who realized what Leon was trying to do and went all out on him, which might've resulted in dark bruises, cracked and/or broken ribs.
Most recruits had already left to go and get patched up depending on the severity of their wounds, and every instructor stayed, observing how poor Leon got beat up so badly (M/n) had to intervene.
"Major Krauser," he spoke with the same harsh voice he used when scolding a reckless agent, "This is an evaluation, not a boxing ring, don't forget that."
Krauser grumbled a 'yes sir' and left the room, (M/n) dismissed all the other instructors in the room and kneeled in front of Leon, who was breathing rapidly with his arm covering his eyes.
"You did well, Leon," the blond male peeked at (M/n), whose expression had turned soft and gentle, the same way he always looked, "I have some lessons for you, but first, let me help you, okay?"
Ever since that day Leon came to him whenever he needed help with something and wasn't feeling like being beaten up by Krauser until he was forced to understand, so it was understandable that they became quite close, even going as far as to be Leon's bisexual awakening, especially since back then he had no idea Ada had survived Racoon City, so he figured moving on was the right solution.
The moment the cable car stopped, Leon snapped out of his thoughts, and they walked off it. They headed inside and barely made it past a big wooden door and a small staircase before Salazar showed up again, and all the infected in the clock tower began their attack.
After Leon found him inside that crate, they had noticed that a few of the small ones had opened the moment they fell, and some of (M/n)'s gear was there, even so, with the lack of magazines, Leon gave (M/n) some spare ammo he had in his pouches, silently agreeing on covering each other's back.
Whilst Leon made his way up the clock tower, (M/n) remained behind him, shooting and stabbing any infected that came up to them, and a part of him hurt whenever another body fell to the ground dead, la plaga inside him made him feel guilty of killing his "siblings" but there was a part of his brain that remained conscious and was fighting control over the parasite, reminding it that it was nothing but an intruder in his body.
"Lieutenant!" Leon called him catching his attention and making him turn around.
Leon was kneeling on the strange lift the clock tower had up on the higher levels, reaching his hand down to him as the platform got further and further away from the ground.
(M/n) ran toward Leon, jumping and holding his hand, reaching his free hand up to hold himself up, easing the task Leon had of pulling his body up.
They rode all the way up to the very top, as high as it reached, and by then, pretty much every infected was dead or dying. Leon ran ahead kicking a door open as he neared the edge, careful not to fall to the void as he took out his binoculars and looked out, mumbling to himself something (M/n) couldn't understand.
His head started throbbing and after closing his eyes tightly his legs gave out, far away enough for Leon to hear him grunting in pain.
"Kill him, child..."
Saddler's voice echoed in his head, and he slowly opened his eyes, black dots started to darken his vision, and he caught a glimpse of Leon standing near the edge of the platform. He could easily walk up behind him and push him off-
Groaning with anger, (M/n)'s fist hit the metal floor, making an obvious dent in it, and his eyes observed the black veins disappearing from his hands.
"Fuck-" he muttered pulling the sleeve of his jack further down to no avail, that was as much as it reached, so he put his hands in his pockets and followed Leon as he called him.
"You alright?" Leon asked trying to look at (M/n)'s but he just avoided eye contact all together.
"Yeah... Yeah, don't worry about me, let's keep going."
Even with his words, Leon couldn't help but feel worried about (M/n)'s wellbeing, he wanted the male to rely on him, just like he does.
But perhaps, it's not the right time just yet.
//////
The encounter with boss Salazar was nasty, (M/n) gets shivers whenever he remembers his slimy tentacle-like appendages around him, which makes him feel disgusted. And then he remembers the pain he felt in his chest when he and Leon worked together to bring him down, something inside (M/n) was screeching at him to not kill one of theirs, but with his consciousness regaining control over la plaga's control he couldn't give two shits about Ramón, or Saddler.
Both of them broke a sweat fighting Salazar, but there was no time to rest, they had to save Ashley. That was still their mission.
They ride the lift down looking off into the distance, where an island was visible in the distance, despite the fog surrounding it.
They hopped off and found a motorboat, but no keys nearby, and you hear a female voice behind you.
"Looking for something?"
The moment (M/n) turns around, he sees a gorgeous woman with Asian features, short black hair, a tight red dress, and long leather boots, along with all the gear she had on her body.
"Why am not surprised, Ada?" Leon's words made (M/n) glance at them back and forth for a few seconds.
That Ada? (M/n)'s mind flashes with the brief memory of Leon talking to him about Racoon City and everything that happened, including having met a woman named Ada that "helped" him but in reality, she just used him for her own benefit, and well, how he had caught some feelings for her, but he wasn't sure if he actually loved her or anything.
And he remembers the small detail that she fell to the void and died, it seemed like she was in better condition than both of them combined.
"Let me take you, gentleman," she said lowering her gun and getting in the motor boat, turning the engine on and glancing back at them, "You coming or not?"
(M/n) and Leon looked at each other and sighed before jumping in and sitting down. (M/n) remained in the back, looking away and enjoying the feeling of the cold water hitting his skin, it helped him cool down the burning feeling he felt going through his veins, and it cleared his mind, as if the fog clogging his memories was finally dissipating.
He could hear Ada and Leon's voices, muffled by the wind in his ears, and the sound of the engine roaring behind him. Yet soon enough, the boat stopped and Ada stood up while shooting her grappling hook, (M/n) glanced away before he began staring at the woman's body and released a yelp when the boat shook as she left them alone.
(M/n) stood up when Leon stabilized the boat and sat next to him, hearing him sigh and mumble under his breath, "Women."
He had to hold in a chuckle, and soon Leon continued driving into the island, finding a place where they could get off easily. The short time they spent together was nice, despite the silence, it was a comfortable silence, unlike how it was when Ada was present.
"Well... Let's find Ashley," (M/n) said as he got off, reaching his hand out for Leon to grab onto. The blond looked at him from his position and showed him a small smile, holding his hand as (M/n) helped him step on the island.
//////
The journey to find Ashley definitely wasn't an easy one, running around the military facility and underground, trying to find the way that would let them continue on, it was more mentally exhausting than it was physically.
But eventually, as they continue their way forward, they arrived in a room upstairs that has a direct view of the room. A room where Ashley was kept, passed out on a military bed.
Stuff got a terrifying turn after that.
(M/n) and Leon found files that talked about an experiment with la plaga on people, called 'regenerators', and how one had escaped its cryogenic tank and gone wild. Along with that, there was valuable information about upgrading the key card to be able to find what was needed and get to Ashley.
Leon was busy reading a file when they heard the sound of the automatic door opening, and neither of them had moved from their spot, so they instinctively pulled out their weapons, the light of their flashlight shining brightly onto the humanoid creature, freaking out at the sight of it.
"What the fuck is that?!" Leon exclaimed emptying his magazine on it, and they both watched how that thing started releasing some sort of smoke or steam, and the pieces of flesh missing grew back on its jiggly body.
"Leon, run!" (M/n) drew his knife just in time as the regenerator extended its arms at them, releasing out a loud screech as it's arms were cut off, (M/n) held Leon's wrist and ran out of the room, dragging the blonde with him. (M/n) tried to convince Leon to separate as a way to cover more ground quicker, but Leon refused, he didn't want to have (M/n) out of his line of vision, which was understandable.
Unfortunately for them, there were more of those things around and while Leon was working on upgrading the key card to level two, a regenerator sneaked up behind (M/n) while he was busy shooting the two ahead of him, and he got grabbed his pistol falling from his hands as he struggled against it's grip.
"Let go of me, motherfucker!" He yelled in rage, unable to break free from its strong grasp.
"(M/n)!" He heard Leon's voice calling him from inside the room he was in, but he was also having issues with one of these creatures, so he could only watch how (M/n) got taken away while he remained locked up in that room, "Fuck-" He got rid of his anger and impotence by unloading the shotgun shells on the regenerator, exposing what appeared to be its weak points.
//////
(M/n) decided that struggling was futile, there was no point in it, so he just let himself get taken away by the regenerator.
He got locked in a dark room, he couldn't see anything, and the emergency lights didn't reach the area, so he had no idea where he was, and yet, he didn't care, the burning feeling of his blood surging through his veins let him now that Saddler was using him again for his own selfish benefit.
"Why haven't you killed him yet?" His voice was calm and understanding, but the way it echoed in his mind let (M/n) know that Saddler was all but calm about the current situation.
(M/n) had to think of something quick, he could feel wriggling inside him, his flesh and skin turning and pulsing, causing him great pain, but he clenched his jaw and pulled through it.
"We just have to be patient, my lord... The boy has to trust me blindly, there's... No way he's not suspicious of me, sir, just... Let me handle this, I'll... Get it done..." He struggled to replay whilst fighting the pain that the mutation was causing him, and for a moment, Saddler hummed, convinced of (M/n)'s words, having not felt a single trace of lies and betrayal in his body.
Without uttering another word, Saddler cut their link through la plaga, and (M/n) fell to the cold metal floor, regaining his breathing, and the screeching sound of a regenerator resonated behind him.
"Fantastic..." He mumbled, crawling away to somewhere he could hide for the time being.
//////
Stumbling his way past more regenerators, (M/n) found traces of Leon's path, like the broken wooden boxes, the dead bodies, and the scattered bullet cases on the floor, it made a fine trail toward the blond.
He ran down the hallway, and slowly approached the open gate, walking slowly and searching around for Leon's whereabouts, when he heard muffled voices of a man and woman. He stumbled his way to the electronic gate and saw Leon helping Ashley get up from the bed, her blue eyes locking onto (M/n).
"Who is that?" Leon followed her line of sight and saw (M/n) standing there, holding his side with his knife in his empty hand.
"(M/n)-" Leon rushed toward him and hugged him tightly, apologizing briefly when he heard the male groaning from the pain, "I was about to look for you, I was worried."
(M/n) smiled at the blond and released his side, lifting his hand to pet Leon's hair, giggling at the sight of his rosy cheeks and bright eyes.
"What can I say? I'm a tough cookie," he muttered and took a step aside, looking at Ashley who seemed taken aback by their interaction, (M/n) realized and took a step back, "But I'm fine, Leon, so don't worry."
Leon swallowed at the sight of (M/n)'s gentle smile, and nodded, reaching his left hand to his earpiece. (M/n) smiles at Ashley and nods his head as a greeting.
"Hello, Miss Graham, sorry we had to meet in such a bothersome circumstance," Ashley chuckled and shook her head, her bright blond hair swaying as she did so.
"No problem, we can always grab dinner when we go back home," her cheerful tone hurt (M/n), as it reminded him of the truth. Even if Ashley and Leon escaped, he had no hope but maybe... Just maybe-
His train of thought was interrupted when he heard Leon mentioning something about "removing the parasite" and for a moment he thought he got found out, that Leon knew he was infected, but just then (M/n)'s eyes noticed the black veins poking under the sleeve of his shirt, making their way down to his elbows, and glancing at Ashley, he noticed she also had signs of infection, the veins were really light colored, but they were there.
And now (M/n) was wondering how long they had until it was too late.
"Alright, let's go," Leon unholsters his gun and takes a step outside of the room before stopping for a moment, "Oh, this is yours, sir."
(M/n) watches as he takes his pistol out and hands it to him, well, no wonder (M/n) couldn't find it on his way back, so Leon had kept it...
That small, meaningless gesture shouldn't have made (M/n) feel giddy, it had no romantic meaning whatsoever so why did it cause this in him? Probably because of the small flame of hope in his chest saying that it had some sort of meaning other than being nice.
He took his pistol back and checked the clip, it was pretty much full, how it was when he dropped it.
"We can go now," Leon added and took the lead, (M/n) made Ashley walk in between them, as their bodies acted as a barrier to protect her from the infected.
//////
On their way to Luis' lab, Leon found himself feeling grateful that (M/n) was there with them, helping him protect Ashley whenever he couldn't, in other circumstances he would've had to leave her alone and he wasn't sure he would have been able to get out of that situation unscathed.
And now, Leon hopped on the wrecking machine and glanced back at (M/n) who stood still looking around them, trying to potentially find another way that would take less time, but right after the first hit to the wall with the wrecking ball, his eyes caught sight of hoards of infected.
"We got problems!" He yelled as he opened fire, and Leon rushed to his side when he got caught by an infected, kicking it away with full force, making it knock onto a few other infected behind him, (M/n) seemed surprised at the strength of Leon's legs.
Well, Krauser was the one who actually trained him, he just gave advice to the cute rookie.
Shooting the explosive barrels as they grouped up was making things easier for them, but not any quicker, however, the wall soon finally broke with a last hit and Leon helped Ashley get down whilst (M/n) moved some of the big debris out of the way and called the elevator that would take them to the top of the mountain.
On their way up, something went across (M/n)'s mind, something that made him zone out, tuning out any kind of conversation both blondes were having.
(M/n) walked right behind them, but he felt like a sensation of dejá vù, as if... He had been there before. And he has.
The moment he caught a glimpse of the amber and la plaga a piercing headache made his body tumble, gripping his skull as a loud ringing made him groan. Leon noticed and was about to turn around to help him up, when they heard Saddler's voice.
And Leon's mistake was shooting him.
The yelp that Leon released made (M/n) grit his teeth as he held onto the shelves to stand up, having some view of the scene through a piece of worn, tattered cloth.
He observed how Ashley's body was being controlled by Saddler, and (M/n) wasn't gonna let him get away with this.
"Saddler..." He growled with hatred, and he saw Ashley's body falter, obtaining more control over her actions.
"Do not resist, child," He said in what he called his "gentle" voice, Ashley whimpered small 'no's' as she was forced to pick up Leon's pistol, trembling hand holding it up straight at the blond agent.
"Please, no..." (M/n) groaned in pain, dragging his body forward, his anger and hate growing stronger toward Saddler.
"I won't... Let you..." Ashley's aim move farther toward Leon's left side, shooting one of Saddler's companions, and (M/n) watched how Saddler made Ashley point at Leon again, her body trembling even more, "Hurt them anymore..."
Pulling the trigger, Ashley shot the second companion behind Leon's right side, and the pistol clicked, and not because its clip was empty, rather because it jammed.
(M/n) fell to the ground away with a gasp, holding himself up with his shaky arms, his breath rapid and labored, his ribs painfully pressing against his lungs, cutting his oxygen supply.
While he was regaining his breathing back to normal, he heard the sound of a metal door closing and Leon's groan as he fell to the ground. "Leon...!" (M/n) tripped over his own two feet, slipping on the tile floor and pushing himself up, rushing toward the blond.
(M/n) helped him up, making sure he was okay, observing how the black vessel veins on his face started disappearing, and Leon got flustered at having (M/n) so close to his face, but he tried to focus more on getting up rather than the proximity (M/n) and he had, they had to get Ashley back, again.
//////
(M/n) had been stumbling his way behind Leon, traces of the headache he got early still remaining, and Leon was worried, making sure (M/n) was close by before resuming his path forward.
But (M/n) just told him to keep going, that he'll be fine soon enough, and Leon hesitated before doing as told. Well, only for a short while.
"I've been waiting for you, rookie," Krauser made himself known, and Leon couldn't help but glance at (M/n) who was leaning against the door frame he just walked through, trying to focus on what the scarred blond was saying but he just couldn't stop glancing at (M/n), watching how his body gave out under his weight, and Krauser realized, "Enough!" He exclaimed finally getting Leon's attention, "Let's settle this, rookie."
Before he could fully understand what was happening, Krauser had pulled out his weapon and bullets were flying toward him, making him crouch behind the broken pillars, finding cover whenever he could.
(M/n) could hear the sound of guns blasting, and knives colliding, his blurry sight making him feel slightly nauseous, but he had to help Leon, at least a little bit, Krauser was out of his mind and was definitely gonna kill Leon if the chance came up, this was no longer training, this was life or death. And he knew that Leon couldn't afford to focus on him right now, so he pushed through the pain, the burning feeling, and the fog clouding his mind once again.
But Saddler had other plans, briefly checking on Krauser, he saw him fighting Leon, so he knew (M/n) had to be close by, which he was. Saddler took care of (M/n) while Krauser finished his job, but keeping the male under his control was proving to be harder and harder the longer he did it.
Right now, (M/n) wasn't Leon's priority and he didn't want to become a bother for him, but he could help him out.
Gripping the walls and crawling across the floor, (M/n) saw how Krauser's body had mutated, he got closer to the edge and grabbed his pistol, raising his arms to hold it as steady as he could, taking a deep breath and slowly releasing it, aiming to Krauser's back, right next to his spine.
"Show me what it is that you got that I don't!" His booming voice seemingly echoed off the whole island, and keeping his hold on the pistol's grip, (M/n) muttered to himself.
"He's got me, Jack."
The bullet shot out of the barrel and hit its target right before it was too late.
Krauser had Leon pinned to the ground under his foot and his arm was ready to finish him, but before he could, the sharp pain he felt on his back was followed by a few more shots, until (M/n) ran out of ammo.
The scarred blond raised his arm toward the (h/c) haired male, "You should just die already! You're such a bother!" Krauser's rage distracted him from Leon, who stood up with his jaw clenched and his hand gripping onto his knife before running to him and stabbing him in the back. He hesitated momentarily before pulling it out and stabbing him again, the memories of Luis' body flashing in his mind and he wasn't gonna let Krauser kill the only person that had shown him some value in his life.
They watched as Krauser fell to the wooden planks, his dagger falling right next to him.
"Do... What you have to do," Leon glanced at it too, his breath slowly but surely evening out after that tough fight with his superior.
Leon picked up the dagger and briefly looked at his reflection before looking away, falling to his knees next to Krauser.
(M/n) slid down the pillar he was resting on, watching silently how Leon seemed to have an internal debate, hesitating and unsure about what he was about to do, but there was nothing that could bring Major Krauser back to normal. (M/n) knew how hard this was for Leon, after all, Krauser had trained him for years and had forged him into the man he is today, and he couldn't be more grateful that he had served under Krauser's commands, despite the asshole he usually was with everyone.
Holding his breath, Leon forced the dagger to pierce through Krauser's chest, rupturing his heart in the process.
"I trained you well... Leon," were Krauser's last words in between coughs, before falling limp back on the blood-stained planks, his blood seeping through the thin separation of each one.
(M/n) observed how Leon stood up and slowly walked away, giving his back to Krauser, his shoulders slightly rising with each shaky breath he took in, "That you did, Major."
Feeling his strength coming back to his body, (M/n) managed to stand up, his eyes landing on Krauser's military beret and he picked it up before making his way down to go back to Leon, climbing the ladder and making eye contact with blue eyes, glossy with tears.
Leon turned around when the door behind him started lowering, opening to let them in.
(M/n) leaned down, placing the red beret on Krauser's chest and saluting him, "Farewell, Major Jack Krauser. You served well." He said with a rough voice, ending his salute and following Leon who had stopped to glance back at Krauser's lifeless body.
Leon sees (M/n) stumble and grip his head with a groan, he obviously isn't doing good, but they can't stop to rest right now, they were running out of time. They had to keep moving and take Ashley back home safely.
//////
The glimpse of hope was fading.
(M/n) really thought they could make it on time when Mike arrived with his helicopter, helping them wipe out the enemies quicker, but right before they could reach the ladder to climb up, those disgusting bugs showed up, causing the helicopter to crash.
And standing menacingly before the erupting flames were Saddler, whose eyes were filled with rage as he looked down at (M/n), muttering to himself with spite.
"Traidor..."
After that, ignoring the uneasy feeling in his chest, (M/n) encourages and convinces Leon to go ahead on his own, that he's got his back and he'll be right behind him.
The moment (M/n) reached the double door he was done dealing with the infected, and he closed the door behind him, and he took a sharp breath in, hearing Saddler's voice echoing off the hallway. He ran toward them when he heard Leon's screams of pain, reaching his hand to his knife and throwing it at Saddler, watching how it landed on his chest, but before he could anything to him, the echoing sound of bullets firing from a submachine gun caught his attention.
Ada was there.
"Go!" She yelled at them and (M/n) didn't waste time to help Leon up on his feet and pick up Ashley.
"This... Way..." Leon mumbled pulling on (M/n)'s arm as he tried to not put all his weight on the male, despite barely being able to walk on his own.
They made it past the rock arc and one of the statues collapsed behind them, blocking the path.
(M/n) saw Leon trying to walk on his own, but he rushed to him, placing one knee on the ground while still holding onto Ashley, "Hold onto me, Leon," the blond wanted to refuse, seeing (M/n) already carrying Ashley was enough for him, "Leon... Please, just do it..." His quiet plead made Leon frown, placing his arm around (M/n)'s shoulders, his free hand grabbing onto his bicep, "Good boy."
Reaching the map on the wall, Leon and he observed the way they had to go, and the whole way there, Leon was grunting and muttering things (M/n) couldn't quite understand, the black vessel veins covering most of his skin, fighting the control of la plaga. And damn, (M/n) has never hated laboratory facilities more than ever in his life, the hallways seemed almost endless as he felt Leon's grip on his arm getting worse.
And yet, finally, he could see the door.
"Leon, we're here," momentarily, he lowered Ashley's lower body, his now free hand keeping Leon steady as he opened the door and the blond stumbled his way to the machine as (M/n) walked in behind him, placing Ashley on the gurney, "You're okay?" He asked Leon who simply nodded, turning the machine on.
Closing his eyes at the screams Ashley released, (M/n) tried to distract himself for a moment, and a file caught his attention. He quickly skimmed through it, understanding that an already hatched egg had a period of a week before it couldn't be removed anymore, or it would kill its host.
(M/n) didn't have a long time to assimilate what he just read because from the corner of his vision, he realized how Leon's body was swaying, and he soon started falling unconscious.
"Leon!" He yelled and ran, sliding through the floor as the blond fell on him instead of the hard floor.
He sat up, his arms wrapped around Leon as he waited for one of them to wake up, but the male in his arms started shaking, his body convulsing as the black veins extended even more across his skin.
"Shit...! Ashley!" (M/n) reached his hand up to shake the girl awake, still holding tightly onto Leon in a futile way to help him calm down.
After the third rough shaking, Ashley woke up, hearing grunting and growls, along with rapid breathing and a voice other than Leon's, looking down to her left she saw (M/n) looking up at her with glossy eyes and a convulsing Leon in his arms. She rushed off the gurney, slightly dizzy for getting up so abruptly, and silently helped (M/n) lay Leon on the gurney she previously was on.
"Remove the parasite...! There's not much time left," (M/n) said as he struggled to keep Leon's body steady whilst Ashley got the machine working again.
Both of them endured Leon's screams and watched him writhe in pain as the parasite was removed from his body too.
The moment it ended, (M/n) fell to his knees next to him, hearing Ashley's boots clicking as she walked around the room.
"(M/n), I think I found something," she said walking closer to him, showing him a crumbled paper with markings in red. It was obviously a map, and it was marking their way out of the island.
"Well done, Ashley," (M/n) smiled up at her and she blushed a bit at the genuine praise.
Now they just had to wait for Leon to wake up.
//////
Ashley and (M/n) follow Leon's lead as he guides them forward on their way out, but as they arrive at the elevator, Leon stops them.
"Stay here, it won't be long," he tells Ashley who nods before turning toward (M/n), "Take care of her in case something happens."
(M/n) nodded too as they watched Leon descending.
Both of them watched how Leon got Ada down and how Saddler showed up, their hearts racing as they started feeling worried about Leon. But they didn't have anything to worry about, or well, at least for now.
As the fight against Saddler dragged on, (M/n)'s body started to feel weak, and soon he was no longer able to stay up, his legs giving up on him as he ended up falling against the things on the edge, making them fall off to the water.
"(M/n)!" Ashley screamed and held his hand before he could also fall into the ocean, dragging him toward the opposite wall. She continued to watch as (M/n)'s condition got worse, his body trembling before it started convulsing, just like how Leon was a short while ago.
Glancing back down at Leon, Ashley watched how he was fighting a version of Saddler that reminded her of a deep sea creature, the fight seemed pretty even, but she was also seeing how Leon seemed to be having some sort of superpower... Then again, she has seen Leon taking nasty hits and brushing them off like it was nothing, so she wasn't that surprised.
And now Saddler was gone for good. But (M/n) had also stopped moving, which worried her, and she made her way down to Leon, groans left her mouth as he struggled to drag (M/n) propped on her back.
"Leon!" The blond turned around after looking at the little teddy bear charm on the key Ada threw at him, and he was instantly worried, rushing forward to Ashley as he got the weight off of her, holding (M/n) up like he held him before.
"What happened?" Ashley shook her head, panicking.
"I don't know! He started convulsing and then he just suddenly stopped responding!" Leon was about to say something when a big explosion when off at the top of the mountain.
"We have go to, the island's about to blow."
Their ride down worked to bring (M/n)'s consciousness back slowly, his blurry sight focused on the metal floor under his feet. They got off the elevator and Ashley managed to dodge an infected going at her who fell to the ground and remained there, convulsing...
Ignoring the thought in their minds, Leon took them to the jet-ski he could see.
"Hold on, (M/n), we'll get you home," those words made his eyes open wide, completely stopping in his tracks, catching Leon off guard, "(M/n)?"
"I can't..." Leon blinked confused at those words, he couldn't what? "I can't go back home, Leon."
Raising his head, both Leon and Ashley gasped at (M/n)'s appearance. His eyes were bright red and bloodshot, pulsing black veins had already covered him from head to toe and everyone knew that it was too late to save him now.
"Just go, get home safe..." Leon shook his head, stubbornly refusing to allow himself the pain of knowing he lost (M/n) again, and this time, forever.
"No! No...! You're coming with us, we can... We can find someone- something that could help you- there has to be something that can be done-!" (M/n) held Leon's face in his hands, his icy cold touch contrasting with Leon's hot and sweaty skin.
"There's nothing that can help me, Leon, not anymore," he heard a distant explosion and he knew it was time to say goodbye, "But remember this..." He brushed his hair away from his face gently, his free hand reaching up to the chain around his neck, pulling it and breaking it, "I'll always love you, okay?"
Feeling a knot in his throat, (M/n) leaned closer and place a short kiss on Leon's slightly parted lips, his hand reaching for an empty pocket where he could place the now broken necklace.
"Live a happy life, Leon."
He said before gently pushing Leon, who fell on the jet-ski, where Ashley held him to prevent him from going after (M/n) who was making his way back to the elevator.
"No! (M/n)...!" The soul-breaking scream that echoed under the island was gonna be one that no one would ever forget, especially (M/n) as he was only able to witness the island collapsing on itself, praying during his last moments that Leon and Ashley make it back home safe.
//////
Leon found it hard to talk to Hunnigan on their way back until she told him she was sending a chopper to their coordinates asap.
He moved his hand to rub his right shoulder when he felt something slightly poking out of one of the pockets of his vest.
He grabbed it and immediately recognized it as (M/n)'s locket, he always had it with him, and said it brought him good luck.
He took a deep breath and opened it, his eyes filling with tears he looked at the picture and the message engraved on the inside.
'Live to be with him' it said and next was the first picture they had taken together, and he couldn't contain his tears anymore.
"Hunnigan..." He whispered, waiting for her to reply back, "I found Lieutenant Colonel (M/n) (L/n), he... He died saving us."
Hunnigan was speechless for a moment, "I'll... I'll let the higher-ups know, Leon."
He hummed and the call cut out, as he gripped the locket tightly in his hand, promising to himself that he will continue living to keep (M/n) alive, through his memory.
++++
I have a possible happier ending for this, but it depends

SATURN & MARS: The Astrology of Horror
Scream (1996), directed by Wes Craven
The horror genre is my favorite genre in media and within it are some of the best and honestly, extreme examples of the significations of Saturn, the Greater Malefic and Mars, the Lesser Malefic.
Saturn is the Greater Malefic, its nature is cold and dry. It joys in the 12th House. Saturn is the signifier of darkness and dark places, enclosed spaces, restriction, control, secrecy, isolation, illness and death, taboo...
Mars is the Lesser Malefic, it's nature being hot and dry. It joys in the 6th House, a cadent house. It rules aggression, fighting, conflict, injuries, blood, deception, lying, weapons but especially sharp objects...
Starting off with the Slasher who walked while everyone else ran, I'll start with Halloween (1978).
Michael Myers moves slow, a Saturnian signification, but he gets things done. Michael spends a lot of this movie stalking Laurie, a 12th House signification.
Halloween (1978), directed by John Carpenter
I also find that very act of masking to be Saturnian in nature because of Saturn's signification of secrecy and mystery, which is given to the 12th House.
Moving onto my favorite Slasher.
Scream is the ultimate Martian movie to me. The Scream franchise itself is a masterclass in homage to so many horror films before it, but also in the concept of betrayal, something Mars rules. Its tagline is, "It's always someone you know." And in the history of this franchise, the audience had so much anticipation in finding out who Ghostface was in each entry, a true Saturn-Mars mix of mystery and bloodshed.
Scream (2022), directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett
Ghostface, like many other Slashers, wields a knife, but isn't exempt to using other weapons, such as guns. Mars rules all weapons.
One of my favorite creature features is Alien (1979). I have not seen Romulus! The tagline, "In space, no one can hear you scream."
One of the lesser known significations of the 12th House is travel, so get this, you're on a ship, isolated from everyone, in the middle of deep space while you and your crew members are being hunted by a large creature. Usually, the 12th House rules large animals and I would like to gently debate that the 12th House rules large, foreign creatures as well.
The Xenomorph is the ultimate monster, Saturnian by its appearance: Black. In addition, the 12th House is before birth and I find it funny how the Xenomorph impregnates it's prey, only for it to burst out in the most Martian way.
Alien (1979), directed by Ridley Scott
Found footage itself is especially Saturnian, since the 12th House rules missing people. I would go even farther to say that the 12th House rules the unseen. So the Paranormal is especially Saturnian in nature, given its cold and dry nature. Saturn is the absence of life and what persists beyond it.
The Blair Witch Project (1999), directed by Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez
Onto another subgenre, one of my favorites, pestilence and death.
Saturn rules death and Mars signifies pestilence and the survival of said pestilence. Most famously, two of my favorite survival horror franchises are Resident Evil and The Last of Us. Resident Evil's entire premise of infection is centered around bioterrorism, starting with the corrupt Saturnian company named Umbrella.
Resident Evil is infamous for its body horror. In this instance, Mars rules body horror due to the painful injuries sustained from the transformation.
Resident Evil 4 Remake (2023)
In The Last of Us, we follow a man who survived the Outbreak, Joel Miller and a young girl named Ellie Williams who survived being bitten and is found to be immune. I find immunity to be Saturnian because your body is suppressing or resisting the infection. The infection itself is Martian as the 6th House rules illnesses.
The Last of Us Part I (2022)
The Cordyceps virus is very Saturn-Mars, given that the fungus attaches itself to the brain and controls it, causing the Infected to sustain its survival aggressively.
The Last of Us Part II (2020)
Survival itself is Martian in nature. Scarcity, a notable Saturnian feature of the Last of Us' intense and highest difficulty, GROUNDED, makes this a unique entry into the survival horror genre across all media. If you know, you know, the Last of Us has a theme of betrayal running through it and with that betrayal eventually comes consequences. Saturn and Mars.
I wanna talk about the Final Girls for a second. We love them. We root for them. We are them. I consider Final Girls to be obviously Venusian, given that the two domiciles of Venus, Taurus and Libra, are the detriment of Mars. Venus finds herself in trouble in the signs Mars rules, Scorpio and Aries.
In traditional astrology, detriment is considered to be the toughest placement for a planet considering it is the opposite of its home, facing conditions it is not equipped for. Certainly, the worst place and the worst time which is a Final Girl thing. Despite this, they still persevere.
Jennifer's Body (2009), directed by Karyn Kusama

Happy Halloween and be safe!
Oh and what's your favorite scary movie? *wink wink*

Different Route
Heyyyy remember that idea I had for self aware Resident Evil 4? I made a small fic/drabble for it but got hyperfixated on hazbin hotel so it wasted as a WIP until I started to miss Leon and now here it is!!! I forgot how this was supposed to go so like the last 10% might be shit
I miss my babies so much 🥹
Warning: VERRYYYY small yandere behaviour
This is insane, everything is too crazy!
Ashley grips the lantern closer to her, the heat of it warming her up despite the shivers running through her body due to the cold marble floor she was laying on. Tear streaks can be seen as she laments how awful everything has been. She still can't believe what has happened to her the past couple days, god, even what transpired an hour ago felt like a nightmare she desperately tries to wake up from. They were so close to escaping the castle, or at least she thought so.
After Leon successfully put together the heads of the chimera statue, gold bars, akin to jail cells, suddenly sprung up from the floor, surprising both her and Leon. Realizing that he's stuck, Leon tries to find a way out before rapid footsteps are heard from below the staircase. He then quickly commands Ashley to run, which she promptly follows by stumbling into the unexplored room behind her. While in there she proceeded to complete a puzzle that can help Leon escape the cell, encountering multiple scary moving armours on the way. Luckily, the blue lantern she found earlier helped her immensely, although she did lose it after trying to grab the key inside the strange mausoleum. The armours swinging its swords down almost made her pass out.
Once Ashley arrived at the elevated platform just above Leon, she was able to grab a key that could free Leon from his holding cell. However, before she could come back down to where he is, someone grabbed her from behind. Immediately struggling against the cultists grip, a sharp pain in her head stopped her from further movement. The pain was so immense that she could feel herself start to pass out, darkness started to creep in her vision as her ears rang loudly against Leon's screams of…pain? Her head lulls to where Leon is and she sees him drop to his knees and clutch his head, gripping his hair in pain. She tried to shout for him but she couldn't even produce a sound, she was only able to mouth a small 'Leon…' in the process. Just as she was going to lose consciousness, she heard two voices echo against her skull, loud and clear amidst the ringing in her ear.
"NOT HER…NOT YET," the first voice growls, masculine and very very familiar.
"Not her… Not again," the second one begs, soft and comforting, she almost cried hearing such a melodic voice. Perhaps this was an angel sent to bring her soul to heaven? Nonetheless, the pain was too much to bear and she passed out at the same time as Leon.
Given how Ashley has been the target of Los Illuminados, she would think she would wake up tied up in a pole, being forced to become one of the monsters that has been hunting her. Instead, she felt the cold floor pressed to her skin, waking her up from her unwanted sleep. Sitting up, she notices a warmth coming from right next to her.
On her side was the lantern, glowing brighter than she remembered, it flickered momentarily as her hands hover to grab it. Something tells her to keep this lantern very close to her, and she does. Orbs start to surround her, covering her with warmth, caressing her skin with the blue glow emitting from it.
Sobs come out from her mouth when the sudden feeling of love and affection rolls over her, it might be just from her starting to go crazy, but she doesn't care. This lantern is the only thing that made her feel safe with everything that happened. Sure, Leon has been there protecting her, but she admits that he's a bit weird muttering to himself about how ‘They came back’ or how he’ll ‘make sure that They won't leave him anymore, not again’. But that doesn't matter anymore, not when Leon needs help, not when she has the lantern with her.
Ashley clutches the lantern tight against her tear streaked form, determination filling her as the thought of Leon needing her help filled her mind. She knows she needs to help Leon and even though it's scary, the blue light has given her enough confidence to proceed. Something tells her that nothing bad will happen to her when she's holding the lantern.
“Leon… wait for me, I'll save you!”

Not sure how much meat this question has to it but if back in 2006 you were the one that spearheaded the shadow the hedgehog game, how would you have done it?
i'd want ShTH 2005 to keep the same core energy its final form ended up with, but tbh there's a lot i would have done differently lol. here's my 3 step plan for how i would have directed it previously/would direct any sort of reboot or remaster
1. TIMELOOP!!!!!!
i'm not the first person to come up with this idea and i won't be the last to talk about it, but the gist of this point is that ShTH's story makes WAY more sense when you treat it like a timeloop. you finished a story path and end up back in westopolis? great job, you're at the beginning of the timeloop again. it's a smart way to make this wack story a little more cohesive.
i would LOVE to further utilize the timeloop concept for this game because it could be a very simple addition to add flavor OR it be the core of the game's story and gameplay. small things like shadow going "hey wait, have i seen this before?" when he's going through westopolis for the third time can hint at the narrative, and once shadow realizes he's in a loop he's motivated to find EVERY path in search of the full truth. every new story path could be treated as a new game+ as shadow starts to consistently remember more from previous timeloops, carrying over certain weapons, abilities, and memories from his previous experiences.
one really cool idea i saw a while ago on here (edit: FOUND IT! i'm talking about this post) is someone's ShTH timeloop pitch where after a few resets, silver starts to show up and tells shadow to stop messing with the timeline. this continues, and eventually silver becomes a final boss of some of the paths. this idea has never left my mind since i saw it and i need to find the person that came up with it they mean so much to me
i have more timeloop thoughts but i will move on for now
2. simplify or rework the morality system and levels
this is my big gameplay critique - there is A Lot to do in ShTH and very little of it is consistently fun. i have grievances with the morality system i talked about a while ago, the gist of my opinion boiling down to "the system removes agency from shadow and the story doesn't fit within the morals you choose anyway." i'd either MASSIVELY rework the morality system to make it feel worthwhile or just throw the whole thing away. unfortunately i don't have many pitches for what to replace it with since i haven't played that many games with branching stories - maybe the story paths you go down are based on BIG story decisions shadow makes during boss battles or in cutscenes (?) like choosing which boss to fight, which characters to save, what moves or weapons to use, stuff like that. i just want the stuff that leads to branching stories to be more impactful and a little simpler.
this also applies to the levels, of which there are... a lot. and maybe there should be less? i think it would be smart to cut down or combine some of the levels, then really flesh out the ones that matter. and given the non-linear nature of ShTH, i think a version with levels more focused on exploration and combat would fit the game better than the linear mission-based gameplay of the original.
3. MORE GUN
listen man. they advertised this as the sonic game with guns and in my opinion i think they could've done better. i mostly just want a more fleshed out weapons system with upgrades, a little customization, better controls, etc. just put the merchant from resident evil 4 in there and have him accept rings and i would be happy
-------------------------
those are the big points i would personally stick to, but i do have smaller points i would consider as well, including:
make black doom seem competent
explain who the chaotix are working for and fit it into the story
no more "kill this many enemies to progress" missions. please
super shadow can have a gun now
#I LOVE YOU SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG 2005 TIMELOOP YOU MEAN SO MUCH TO ME#sonic loreposting#fernasks#long post
