sorry about your boyfriend. yeah we kept putting him in really awful situations and we also gave him Horig’s Virulent Plague. yeah he’s coughing up blood. we also killed the one doctor character so hopefully he recovers

Squinted at part 48's transcripts and came up with this layout of the castle:

It's super not to scale, and if there are any mistakes (very likely) I am sorry! There's also things like the order of the other 3 chambers and the kitchen/library layout that were not mentioned in the episode.

## Friar

- Arthur saw him enter his chamber

- claims to have been asleep the entire time, woken up by the commotion

- still wearing his elaborately tied shoes

- Gerard says he saw the Friar leave the chamber at some point

## Barnabus

- went to the study with Evrard

- was not with Evrard when Langward died

- both he and Evrard found Gerard outside the hall to the chapel looking nervous

## Evrard

- did not reveal that Barnabus was not with him when Gerard died until the very end of the episode

- (does Not Care)

## Gerard

- followed Langward into the Chapel due to them both being part of the Order of the Fallen Star

- carrying a ring from the Order

- After speaking to Langward, left to wait at the end of the chamber hallway until both Arthur and the Friar had entered their rooms. This is when he saw the Friar leave again.

## Langward

- throat was sliced from the back on the chapel steps

- part of the Order of the Fallen Star

- missing his ring from the Order

RIP Langward, you were the only one who could have probably saved Arthur from the plague

Look Malevolent Parts 48-49 would be SO funny if Arthur wasn't dying of the plague. Like classic 1930s private investigator gets dropped into a classic Agatha Christie-ass Nobody Gets In Or Out Whodunnit so you'd think oh great he's well equipped for this scenario EXCEPT said whodunnit is occurring in medieval England and nobody else in the scenario knows about investigative procedure at all so Arthur has to SAY OUT LOUD "Hey guys what if we investigated this. With a procedure" and everybody stops trying to kill each other with knives for five minutes to go hmmm interesting proposition, you oddball. And then they go back to trying to kill each other with knives.

Something about Arthur learning to be suspicious of everyone and rely only on himself, then relearning how to trust people in Season 4, extending that trust even to Yorick, and then being thrown into a situation where everyone is out to backstab and potentially kill each other, but now he can combine these two important aspects and be whole as a detective once again, just like he used to be a long time ago.

these latest episodes of malevolent have been wild but im so glad that amongst the chaos of reactions to part 48 that my entire dashboard agrees that gerard and langward were fucking
