You had loved Hades and Maleficent with your entire being. You loved how they would help you get out of your comfort in a good way. How they would encourage you to be the worse/best you can.

When people learned about all three of you being together everyone had decided to judge. People had expected Hades and Maleficent to be together, but you in the mix? It made people question and start rumors.

‘They were with you out of boredom.’ ‘They were playing a prank on you.’ ‘They didn’t actually care about you.’

Hades and Maleficent would always make sure to shut someone up if they dare say that. They had tried their hardest for you not to hear it, but it couldn’t be help.

You would hear them whispering. It had made your confidence dwindle, made you question yourself in a way.

In the beginning you were scared that one of you would be left out, that one of you would feel less loved. You were proven wrong though, when everything went so perfectly despite the rumors.

The three of you would have dates, take turns picking movies, help each other. Always be there for one another. For a while it was amazing.

But slowly your fear was coming true, and it was you who felt left out.

The three of you were walking down a path, laughing to yourselves at what happened to Uliana earlier. Turning into a pink flamingo.

You stopped once Hades pulled Maleficent hand back to him, also stopping her.

The god bent down and plucked a purple flower, handing it to the dark fairy.

So you felt like a fool waiting for the attention you thought he would send your way. However it felt like cold water drenched you as the two started walking again, calling out to you in a small “come on Y/N.”

A knock on your door drew you attention, and before you could even say come in, the person walked through. Or well people.

Hook and Morgie walked into the room, and they paused when they saw you.

You took notice of Diaval, Maleficent bird, trying to get out of Morgie’s hands while the boy struggled.

“What are you doing here?” You and Hook asked each other while Morgie continued to fight with the bird.

“This is my room.” You said, as if it was obvious. You and Maleficent had shared a dorm, for obvious reasons.

“Yeah but aren’t you on that date with Mali and Hades?” Clearly not, but what date?

James saw your confusion and felt like Hades was going to scold him, even though it wasn’t his fault the two of them didn’t invite you.

“Don’t you know?”

Is that why Maleficent left without saying anything? You had just thought she went to go hang out with Uliana. Sure you hadn’t really talked to the couple in a few days — you felt to insecure, but would they really okay with ditching you?

You could feel your self start to cry, hating it. The two villain boys also hated it cause they didn’t know what to do in this situation.

All they were doing was trying to put a bird back in its cage or very least its owners room.

James grabbed the bird out Morgie’s arm, to which the boy stuck his tongue out to the crow.

Hook tossed the crow in your direction and Diaval wasted no time in flying to your aid, cuddling up to you.

The two boys walked back out the room, and hook immediately stepped onto Morgie’s foot.

“What was that for?!”

“You started this!” Technically Hook was the one to spill. “You fix it and go tell Mali and Hades on how them leaving out Y/N is affecting them.”

Before Morgie could say no the pirate already walked away. Letting out a big sigh Morgie did as told, rubbing the spot where the crow nipped him.

Maleficent looked around the shops in town, sighing when she saw nothing worth getting you. Your birthday was coming up, so your two lovers had decided to go out on the town to try and find you something.

Hands wrapped around the dark fairy faced, and the voice of one of the loves of her life spoke. “Find anything?”

“No…” she sighed out. “Nothings worth it. What if we don’t find her something?”

Hades turned her around and placed a kiss on her forehead, “we’ll find something she’ll love.” He promised.

Though there little moment was interrupted by the son of Morgana.

“Y/N is upset…” he heaved out to the two. Who was now suddenly very alert. “Me and Hook told her about the date…” he heaved out again, out of breath from the running he did all around town to find the two of you. “You two are on without her.”

Hades suddenly felt like punching the two men who put something false in his girls head. It didn’t matter to him if they actually thought that — they should know better.

However Maleficent pulled him away and the two went rushing back to your room. Hoping you would listen and let them explain.

You were already acting weird enough, keeping to yourself and starting to pull away.

The two didn’t bother to knock, they just went into the room. Seeing you sniffling with Diaval.

His owner would be sure to give him as many treats as possible for trying to comfort Y/N.

Maleficent was the first one to sit on the bed with you, pulling you to her as you cried. “You two are going to leave me.” Your voice broke, and it ripped out their hearts.

Hades went into action and pulled both his girls to him, he was also rubbing your back as the two immediately denied your claim.

“We could never leave you.” Your beloved fairy said into your ear.

“Do you truly think us fools?” Your handsome god asked you. As if them leaving you would only be in death. And even then they would never leave you.

“Don’t lie. I know you were on a date… without me. And god saying that out loud makes me feel pathetic for caring so much.”

Despite how embarrassed you felt about how much this whole thing affected you, you could help by continue to cry, only this time quieter as you soaked in their affection.

“We weren’t on a date.” Hades was the first one to correct you, and Maleficent carried on. “We were birthday shopping for you.”

You slightly shook your head, that was still rested against Maleficent shoulder.

“Then why have you been leaving me out? Giving each other kind words, and flowers, and attention— without giving me so much as a glance longer than five seconds.”

The two powerful beings felt like such idiots. How could they be oblivious to your feelings?

“Baby, listen.” Hades started, pulling you away from Maleficent and into his lap. Making sure you looked him in the face.

“That flower I gave Maleficent, you may not realize but I’m pretty sure you’re allergic. You started sneezing when I gave them to you two before.” Now you felt like an idiot.

“I’m also sorry for not being fair. I should have realized sooner how you were feeling left out. And I’m sorry.” It was very rare for the god to apologize. To admit he was wrong — but with you it came so easily.

“I’m sorry too,” Maleficent said, turning your gaze to hers. “I don’t show love easily but I do love you. I love the both of you.”

You finally felt at peace as the god kissed your head while the fairy kissed your lips.

Hades leaned down to your ear and whispered, “we love you desperately, and we will make you believe it always.”

Why Midori is such a breath of fresh air or how to actually write a Villain.

So the awaited essay, the winner of the FrenchGremlin polls of laziness finally has come! It took some time but it’s finally over. If your choice didn’t get chosen that’s okay! I’ll repost a new poll with old and newer options. Please reblog this one i put a lot of time in it, it's like, five pages long over a silly goose. Also sorry for the grammar i sucks and i'm not native. So let’s begin:

So first let’s make things clear, What IS a villain?

“A villain is a character whose evil actions or motives are important to the plot.” That is why I do want to make a difference between a villain and an antagonist, an antagonist is a character who are a plot devices that creates obstruction to the protagonist. That means that a villain is forced to be an antagonist while an antagonist is not forced to be a villain. For example shin is an antagonist but not a villain, he is driven by selfish desires which are themselves fueled by fear anger and loss, he is the protagonist of his own story and is a sympathetic character despite it all, and Midori is just a bitch. Midori falls under multiple stereotypes of villains. Such as “the mastermind”, “evil incarnate” (lmao),”related to the protagonist” etc. Midori is evil, there is no denying in this, he is purely evil, and he doesn’t have a sad weepy backstory, he doesn’t feel empathy towards other, he is a despicable piece of shit who ruined so many lives. I won’t list everything but here is a list of his crimes, murder, assault, domestic abuse, grooming, verbal abuse, and torture, crimes against humanity lmao, stalking, violent crimes, and participation in a cult. And his worst crime is being a pussy bitch of course. So now that we have put the bases up let’s really begin.

Hollywood has a hate boner against villains and I hate them for that.

Recently Hollywood decided that pure evil bad guys is actually a bad thing, so now they decided to do stupid side story with them, to give them ”””depth””” since I guess how could we like those villains since they are bad. A great example of this is the Disney remakes which I loathe so much oh god I hate them. So first they did a maleficient it was okay honestly, then they did a freaking cruella movie where her mom gets killed by Dalmatians, that’s not a joke, in the peter and wendy movie that nobody saw they decided to have made the captain hook be a lost boy who was abandoned by the lost boys and peter, oh also they decided that PETER CUT HIS HANDS OFF AND LEFT HIM TO DIE BECAUSE HOOK WANTED TO SEE HIS FAMILY. They are going to do a freaking mufasa movie, in no time I can’t wait to have a Ursula movie where it’s discovered that ariel killed all of her family in cold blood or something’s. So you might say what’s the problem? I mean isn’t that supposed to make the story more interesting. No, no it doesn’t, because first they take all of the character personality traits and throw them in the bin, second they are supposed to be the vilain in a musical animated movies, I am not against complex villain, I love them, but by doing this, the original character doesn’t exist anymore. Just create original content with new interesting characters instead of doing stuff like this. Also it’s kind of funny than in all of those interpretation they take all the fun and sucks it out, what do I mean by fun, the gayness, Disney vilain are fun because they are camp, they are fabulous extravagant extra in all the ways possible, and that’s the reason we liked them. Not every character needs something super deep, like “my family was burned down at the stake and my dog was eaten by my ex”, sometimes we just like bad fun people, they are the story, and Hollywood hating them so bad just bothers me a lot. Also now the new thing is to not have a villain at all which can works in some narrative but not all of them, it gets boring after a while. In the past people were angry that villains are bland, but now I kind of miss it. While I will critique villains who have no purpose outside of being evil that’s dumb, like for example Voldemort is bland like white bread because his only motivation is being evil, but evil people do exist compared to what some Hollywood writers think, they should know. So that’s why I will put a difference between evil villains and villains whose only purpose is being evil; we loved Disney villains but they still had motivations, goals, reasons that to them a least were worth everything. World domination isn’t enough, why do you want world domination, what is the true reason deep in your heart, is it an inferiority complex, is it a savior complex fuelled by xenophobic beliefs.

That is how to write a pure evil villain, evil people exist all over the world, but I have never seen one who doesn’t have they own reasons to be so bad, it doesn’t excuse their actions nor really explains them. We do not want justifications we want explanations. If you are justifying evil behavior then do it, but don’t claim that it is a pure evil character. A pure evil character can be fun, can be interesting, he can be deep, it’s all about balancing all of their traits to truly make them greats. Which is why midori succeeds while current villains fail. Current stupid remake/spin off try to justify the behavior because they feel like this is what the audience wants, but it’s not what we need. So I will defend to the grave evil villains.

Creating an evil villain doesn’t make them boring guys.

Why the heck does big budget movies have either the blandest protagonist or the blandest villains sometimes both, like I said evil people do exist but comically evil character only works in satire not in a serious multiple millions of dollar movie. Example that boring ass avatar movie, the one with blue people, none of the characters are interesting the villain is one note. The lords of the rings also suffers from that, but I don’t care because the protagonist are so awesome that sauron being personality less doesn’t matter. Also sauron is more of a force of nature villains so it’s not the same. The recent kingsman movie has a bland one note villain, there is nothing entertaining, funny, about him he’s just evil, borrrrring. Every Disney remakes depiction of the characters are boring. I just feel bored out of my mind. Atla one of my favorite shows of all time has a main villain that’s kinda one note, Ozai, but he is actually intimidating guy, azula is the superior character, but I wouldn’t consider her a villain she is an antagonist though. I honestly don’t get why Hollywood thinks that just creating a character with no personality and whose only goals is to be evil is good.

So back to midori for a second, here is my question, when midori was on screen did you ever feel bored? Never right! Because despite midori being an evil character he has an actual personality, he’s fun, you want to punch him in the balls. Because midori has other personality traits than evil, midori is petty, childish, extremely intelligent, controlling, a natural manipulator, he is a trickster, he doesn’t seem to get some social norms, he is narcissistic, easily angry, and fears death etc See how I counted a lot of traits, traits that in other character would works, midori has positive traits, and I think that is the best thing nankidai could have ever done, midori has traits that a regular person could have. Which is why if I put midori in any settings his character would work.

Example, instead of a death game the cast is under the sea to discover the insane wildlife and supernatural stuff happening, what would midori do in this situation? Well he would very passionate about finding all of what’s happening, he’ll do anything to find out, even sometime sacrificing others, not only will he try to find what’s happening, but he is also going to try to find a way to make this discovery favour him in the end. Or let’s imagine it’s a vampire situation, where a vampire attacks  the city, midori would try to stop it, not because he cares, but to experiment on them to get their biology and finds the real secret of immortality since he fears death.

Here is my second advice, after creating your character try to imagine them in another completely different situation, like normal life, or a fantasy world, ask yourself the question what would they do in that environment? If you can find a real complete explanation of their actions then yes your character has multiples dimensions if not try thinking about it again. Some example of questions I do want to point out are some like “if my character had all the power in the world what would they do first or”, “if my character had only a day left to live what would they do”

Why is Current media incapable of creating good threats like bruhhhh.

Okay so first of all let’s talk about stakes in a story, let’s say you are watching a slasher movie, slowly the cast gets slimmed down and people die in horrible ways, that should set stakes right ? Well if the villain is an absolute buffoon who makes the stupidest actions and decisions in the world, you wouldn’t feel intimidated at all because despite what the filmmaker might try to say the plot armor will NEVER make a character intimidating. It’s just like a detective character who just seems to know everything without a thought, well you won’t really fear the character failing. Worse is the the final girl, who is for some reason always escaping the slasher guy by pure luck every time, she is shown as incompetent but still she survives, which make the villain seem completely incapable so now you feel nothing.

To avoid this filmmaker often use techniques such has unpredictability, I mean good I mean good ones, for example instead of immediately seeing whose going to survive because the black guys always dies first and the virgin white woman is the last survivor, change the status quo, make us think that this character is obviously safe while they actually aren’t at all. Or actually make them menacing by SHOWING to the audience how horrible dangerous they can be. Which is why SHOW DON’T TELL is so important, telling us how dangerous someone can be only to see them get beaten to death at the end of the movie makes us feel nothing.

Midori felt like a impossible person to beat, he is smart, had twenty plans in advance, even in situation where the cast felt like they might have a chance he was always armed, just like the gun he promised to use or the rocket punch. When they felt like they were finally advancing, he put obstacle in their ways, such as the collar game or the moment he put the collar on explode mode for  ranmaru. The entire point in the murder game was to make time pass, it took a long time for the cast top realize that this whole time they were losing precious time not realizing that the dummies were the real problem. The characters that made you feel the most hopeless were the dummies, if you won by killing midori they would die, but if you lost you might lose people you love (keiji or gin). It felt hopeless because they were no solutions in the end. That creates tension so that creates stakes. If we were told how dangerous unpredictable sou was then it wouldn’t hit the same, we are shown that he is that terrible. There is a scene ingame where bbg shin ai tells us that midori tortured and like to destroy people. That’s exposition so TELL, but do you why it works, because we are SHOWN before his behavior. Midori felt unbeatable, so the fact that we were shown his weakness such has his petty behavior, hatred of minors, and fear of death, for the first time it feels like there is a chance that we might survive this. And still after he isn’t shown has an incompetent buffoon, he is one, but the narrative doesn’t show us that he is.

What is also consider is good to make the audience feel actual stakes is to first really develop well the main characters, how can we feel worry for a character if we don’t know them, the audience need to feels emotional connection to the main cast to actually care. You can use things such has moments where there is nothing special happening just character talking getting to know them. Make us feel why we need to care about them possibly losing, instead of being indifferent. Or I don’t know maybe make an entire spin off game where we get to have the cast talk to each other and seeing dynamics between character that died early to get them a chance to shine and make their death even more tragic, or even make mini episodes of characters who only got a single chapter to show off their characteristic, to get us to know them better? But that’s just a silly idea of course, wink, and wink.

My favorite thing about Midori is that he is actually pathetic, like really pathetic, but weirdly realistic?

Midori is the most pathetic character in the cast, yes more than shin, shin is leagues less pathetic. No I’m not saying that midori is not intimidating or scary, I would piss myself if I saw him. He’s a scary guy. But if you look at him more closely you can see that he is a baby brat in a big boy suit.

So let’s start by something clear, Sou Hiyori clearly displays antisocial behavior, or in common terms he is a psychopath/sociopath, this illness is very badly seen in medias, I am not saying that people who lacks empathy like him are inherently bad, he is, a lot of people with antisocial behavior actually suffers a lot and have a difficult life. Sou real issues is not his antisocial behavior, it’s his narcissism and god complex. Sou feels the need to HAVE CONTROL over others, he like the feeling of being in power, he sees the rest of the world has beneath him, toys for his pleasure. He says that he “really like humans” because despite it all he seems to put himself in a different categories than regular people, they are beneath him. When he loses control his calm and cool behavior disappears and we see his true face, a grown man who has throws a tantrum like a baby. One of the best representation of this is midori views on the cast:

Midori hates kanna, like no jokes he has beef with her, a fourteen years old, actually he has beef with a lot of people in the cast. Midori views emotional people has weak, people who are loving optimistic as beneath him and useless. He preferred when sara was cruel and horrible, that’s what he loved about her, he liked seeing her scary emotionless side. But Kanna, kanna is everything he hates. A crybaby who not only puts the group in harmony, is a source of hope in general, is the reason he near got to have closure with shin (killing him), he views kanna as “not fun shin”. We have many proofs for this, if you type the word kanna kizuchi he says this: “Poor Kanna'd weep! I think a more worthless name would be better for someone like me” He mocks her, but also himself (I’lll come back on this later), he calls her worthless. Also in the electric charge minigame, when he can choose who to shocks he chooses two people in particular, kanna who he hates and hinako who ruined his fun by giving the cast a chance in saving ranmaru. But he does also says mean spirited stuff to other people, qtaro and gin. He also says some sarcastic comments about nao and joe, saying that it’s such a shame that they died so young. But you might say why kanna especially? Because he is a petty baby who is jealous of kanna, Yes jealous, of kanna, a fourteen years old. Because he feels like she stole his hubby wubby shin away from him…. God I hate him. And you know what that make him a pathetic idiot, after the scene where kanna beats his ass, he’s all mad and like “uhh I’m going to pout I wanted you to cry like a lot, now I’m gonna cry”. An that’s actually god, because it humanize him, he wants need thoughts, he isn’t one note, and that’s the most important!

Sou is a villain but before that he is a character, a fully developed character, and THAT’S WHAT MAKE HIM GREAT, Sou works because he works realistically, I mean if you forget the robot part, it’s easy to imagine a narcissist man child who needs to feel in power towards other, so his main prey are young vulnerable people.Which leads me to my next point:

Sou is a failure like really, and we aren’t sad for him.

Sou failed everything he worked on, he failed to get the paper from alice, he failed whith shin since he had to leave earlier than he thought he would leave, because of his mistake he lost his position in the death game, then he failed to kill gin or keiji, and then he died like an idiot losing his cool and acting like a toddler. And he knows it that why he is a bit self-hating (he should be). And yet none of us feel any sympathy towards him, why? Because sou is one of the most despicable guy in existence. He is a disgusting pervert, sadistic asshole, and abusive narcissistic cunt who thinks he is better than everyone. From the bottom of my heart I hate him sooooo much he is literally the character I hate the most in existence. He abused shin, ruined keiji’s life, traumatized the entire cast, literally assaulted sara like he physically assaulted her. He mocked nao and joe and kugie life as useless. He is an obsessive jerk AND I HATE HIM. And you know what…… It’s good. Like I actually feel a lot of emotions when I think about him, he fuels me with anger and disgust, and if your characters can make me feel that much rage then you did it, you created an actual perfect character. Hiyori is such a shit person that I think about him a lot, writers shouldn’t be scared to make a character such hittable assholes, example bojack horseman in bojack horseman is the vilest man on earth and I love it, because I genuinely hate him. Just like I genuinely love kanna, like really I really love her, I in the same time despise midori so bad. We hate him because he is horrible to good people that WE KNOW AND CARE ABOUT, not random npcs. There is a lot of… disgusting implications in his story with shin that I will not talk about it makes me really uncomfortable right now. SO HERE IS A VERY TACKY TRANSITION TO TALK ABOUT WHY I HATE JUNKO FROM DANGANRONPA.

Junko is boring, that’s it, she is boring, not funny not interesting, she is a fetish, she is the biggest Mary sue on earth, she is a gross character made to make fun of people with disabilities and queer people. Her only traits is being crazy, that’s it. I wouldn’t call midori that crazy actually, he’s methodical calculated, and precise. Crazyness is a term for people who aren’t in control of their actions and delusional about reality, sou is not crazy, he knows what he is doing, he is in full control, while characters like shin should actually be consider crazy, like shin is actually crazy but sou isn’t.

Conclusion:

Sou is a breath of fresh air, because nankidai had the balls to write an actually interesting deep and threatening character AND make him a villain. He didn’t fall into the trap of making him have a sad backstory or good motives, sou is just selfish, that’s all he is. He make him a fun entertaining guy who you absolutely hates, he made him threatening and at the same time a complete doofus. He made him humane and pathetic.

But the thing that make me love nankidai the most is this

The fact that he actually killed him that takes courage as a writer to just end a character THAT WAY, which is why midori will never come back alive he is forever dead. And that take a lot of talents as a writer to just take one of the most important characters and just get him drilled to death in the anus, like dammn nankidai you are a savage. That fact alone makes him one of the best characters in game, I hate him as a person, but has a character he is a masterpiece.

Scary and sweet is how most people would describe your relationship with hades and maleficent. They were the scary you were the sweet and that’s how you liked it. A couple days before you planned a date, a small one in the flower field a couple minutes away from Merlin Academy.

What you hadn’t planned was cramming in a bunch of study for the exam. You had been procrastinating it for weeks and then you decided to do a little study the night before.

You had overworked yourself so hard that you fell asleep on the floor after getting ready. Hades and Maleficent had been waiting at the spot for a while. At first they thought you were running late but after half an hour they started to get worried.

They packed up the picnic and started walking back to Merlin Academy. They walked down the hall and took your dorm. Hades tried to open it but it was locked “y/n? You in there” Maleficent tried to pick the lock but it wouldn’t budge.

She pressed her ear against the wall “They’re definitely in there” You were a heavy sleeper so once you fell asleep you weren’t waking up for a long time “Hades do you still have the key” He smirked and took one of his necklaces off “It’s my prized possession” Maleficent rolled her eyes and took the necklace with the key on it.

She put it in the lock and twisted the handle the door final opening. They stepped inside and found you sleeping on the floor. Hades walked over and tried shaking you awake “Hades they’re in a deep sleep you need something loud and annoying to wake them up, I know you should sing that would do it” He stuck up his rude finger at her and lifted you up onto the bed.

The three of you enjoyed the night you told scary stories and watched movies and enjoyed each other’s company. You ended up falling asleep in the middle of a movie your head landing on hades lap and your legs on Maleficent. They didn’t move you though they thought it was cute

If twst wanted to go true horror route with Malleus…I would have loved for them to somehow have him take control of the students and make them into his army to fight against the others.

Imagine malleus, outside the door of idia’s room, somehow breaking in and taking control of riddle and idia??

Transforming them into their OB versions and using them against the others??

Taking control of the students and changing them into minion soldiers from the movies??

Maleficient made a raven into a human but what about malleus changing students into his army of soldiers?

I've watched recently and literally fell in love with the movie.

I was thinking about a neteyam x fem!maleficient!reader. Reader has a broken wing and is found in the forest by neteyam, she's scared by his big frame and tries to runs away (reader and her kind being smaller than the humans) but he catches her and helps her with her wing. Like it would be super cute to see them together.

Once upon a dream

The forest was unusually quiet, too quiet. Neteyam looks around finding a good target to hunt, but no animal was in sight. No noise was made. It worried neteyam. A bit creeped out.

Slowly making his way, arrow and bow in hand ready to strike any threat. He observes his surroundings, trying to make since of the sudden silence. He doesn't sense any danger but still, anything could happen.

But the deeper he goes, he notices there are many Atokirina floating, many are everywhere. Forming some type of....protection. Protecting what? Following them, in a clearing he sees....something.

in the middle of the grass, what he saw was two giant beautiful black wings. Wings that he has never seen before. One looked to be moving, in a swaying motion but the other looked bad in a awkward angle.

His ears moved at the sounds of weeping. Slowly getting closer, he takes a full view. A young girl, small, possibly smaller than a average sky demon. And two things coming out of her head.

Setting his weapons down, he slowly reaches to the young girl, gently touching her shoulder. The girl in question gasped and backed away in fear. She turns to face neteyam, pain and fear paints her face as tears continue to fall from her eyes.

"I wont hurt you, I promise" neteyam says in english. Raising his hands as means to prove he isn't a danger to the girl. The girl sniffed a bit, carefully observing neteyam. She didn't get closer but calmed down just a tiny bit.

"Do you know what I am saying? Can you speak?" neteyam asks slowly, hoping the girl understands. Nervously, the girl does. "I...I do..b-but please leave me alone!!" she begs as she moves away. But one of her wings was being dragged, making her yell out in pain.

Neteyam gets closer but the girl screams and tries to kick him away. "p-please don't come near me!!", fresh tears fall from her pretty eyes once more. "please, you are injured, let me help you. I promise I only want to help" neteyam looks straight into the girls eyes, feeling nothing but sincere honestly and worry. The girl looks at him, and says "my wing...it hurts so much!!" her voice cracks as she gently touches her injured wing, to show blood seeping out, a few feathers falling.

If there wasn't blood or pain, neteyam would have admired the beauty of her wings. He has never seen anything like it before. Never seen a girl like her before.

Carefully observing the injuring, neteyam takes out his small sack of medical herbs and tools, having a tshahik for a family relative has its benefits.

"I'm going to help you. I will try to treat your injury, it will hurt but if it gets too much tell me. Do you understand?" neteyam says slowly and gently. The girl nods, not saying much anymore.

Using a bit of water from the near by pond, he washes away the blood, making the girl hisses and flinch from the stinging pain. Neteyam wishes to take away her pain, but miracles can only work so much. Using a large leaf and using the paste of the medical herbs, slowly he places it on the wound.

"ow....!! it hurts!" the girl whimpered out, hugging herself for comfort. "I'm sorry, I will try to make this quick" neteyam reassures. "can you tell me your name..?" he asks, trying to distract her from the pain she is feeling. The girl looks at him briefly and asks a question herself.

"Is this forest your home?", she looks around, looking at eat plant and little creatures. Neteyam smiles a bit proudly, "yes, this part of the forest is of omatikaya territory, we are not that far from my village". The girl hums a bit absent mindedly. "So...you have a home?" she asks a bit quietly, sounded a bit hesitant to ask.

Neteyam nods, "do you have one?" he asks as he gently wraps the wound. Again the girl stays silent for a moment. "Once...but its gone" she says with a longing in her sweet voice.

"There, its bandaged, I did my best, I am no healer. Try not to use your...wing so much" the boy informs. Carefully folding the wing to her back, the girls sits up more proper before standing up. "Thank you. For tending to my wound" she says. A slight happiness was hinted.

Dusting off the dirt, she takes a deep breathe. Neteyam looks at her full, taking in her image. She is very pleasing to look at, despite her odd traits and human like features, is very beautiful.

"who...or...what are you? I have never seen anyone like you before" neteyam asks. The girl didn't seem offended, but slightly shrugged. "What I am exactly, the name is long gone but...I am what you can call...a fairy. The name of my clan has disappeared centuries ago".

Netayam understands her, his people was often attacked but they stand strong and never forgotten. To lose a name is to lose a piece of your identity.

Admiring the girls wings, they were truly otherworldly. Black yet so beautiful. His fingers twitch, itching to caress the feathers. To feel the texture and take in the details.

"your wings....they are beautiful" he compliments. The girl blushes, her voice trapped inside, not knowing what to say. "What...are those on your head?" neteyam points out her horns.

"My horns, part of my defense mechanism and helps me detect things from high above or far away" she explains.

With every detail of her, neteyam cant help but be more intrigued. He wants to get to know her, she was like a breathe of fresh air. One he wants to hold on just a bit longer.

"and your name...?" he asks.

The girl smiles softly, and says her name.

Animal familiars in NRC

So, you know how Master Trein is the only character in the entire school with an animal familiar? (If we don’t count Yuu having Grim)

Welp, I started to think which animal would fit the best for each NRC student along with some headcanons about them, such as:

Familiars have a special magical connection with their respective mages, which is like an invisible bond.

Not every magic user gets a familiar.

Having a familiar is similar to unique magic, they can arrive at any moment and they make your magic stronger.

You don’t need them by your side 24/7.

They can’t talk unless you use magic like the one in Animal Linguistics class.

Think of some of the animal sidekicks of some Disney movies like Cinderella’s mice, Mula’s horse, or better yet, think of the villain’s companions like Maleficient’s crow, Shang Yu’s Falcon, Iago, etc.  

The magical bond allows for things like the animal having a bit of a longer life span (more on that later) and adapting better to other environments.

NRC has measures in place to take care of the familiars and fit things like good living places, health, and diet requirements.

Here are the headcanons! We began with Heartslabyul along with some headcanons of their dynamics with their respective familiar, the other dorms will come in later posts (Savanaclaw and Octavinelle, Scarabia and Pomefiore, Ignihye and Diasomnia)

Riddle: Hedgehog.

I decided to name the little hedgehog Quinte.

Riddle met her as a kid some days after the incident with his mom happened.

He was looking out his window wishing Trey or Che'nya would appear again when he saw something moving in the bushes of his house. Against what he would consider his better judgement he decided to go and check what was there.

That's when he found Quinte! He knew about familiars and he also felt something special when he saw the little hedgehog but at that moment he just wanted to make sure she was going to be okay so he brought her inside and although hesitantly, told his mom.

I honestly think Mrs.Rosehearts wouldn’t have approved of Riddle having a “distraction” but she realized her son had found his familiar so she allowed it. 

In NRC everyone treats Quinte with the same respect they have for Riddle. Quinte legally can’t break any rules.

One time a student confused her for one of the normal hedgehogs the dorm has so he put her in the same place as the others go. 

Cue Riddle desperately looking for his familiar and worried sick for something bad happening to her until he finally found her with the other hedgehogs, cue absolute relief but also a student losing his head for like a week.

I can see Cater getting her a little crown to match Riddle.

Trey: Rat

Hear me out! This works both for an Alice in Wonderland (I know the animal there is a mouse but still) reference AND a Ratatouille one!

Did you know rats are actually pretty clean animals?

I was so tempted to name the rat Remi, but I won’t. I was thinking of the name Peres, let’s call him that for now, but I’m not sure, if you have any ideas let me know.

Yes, Trey’s parents weren’t thrilled when he found his familiar, probably in his mid to late teens. But you can’t do much about it so they made sure Peres was well-cleaned and groomed, also he wasn’t allowed inside their bakery, a bit mean but they couldn’t afford to have customers seeing a rat. 

Once in NRC however, Peres helps Trey in the kitchen with things like getting ingredients or tools. The sub-chef who takes his work seriously.

Say something rude about Peres and your pastries will taste like clams.

Cater: Dog

He was a difficult one, I might change it later

Probably a race like a terrier or a bloodhound, I have no idea why but I think his name would be something like Princess/Prince.

His magic cam is full of photos of his familiar along with cute accesories which his familar uses willingly and like a diva.

I can see him getting the dog right before entering NRC or maybe in his first year.

The dog is lucky because there is always someone taking care of it, either Cater himself or one of his copies.

Deuce: Rabbit

Was planning on giving him a chicken ngl

Deuce loves him with all his heart.

I can see Deuce naming the rabbit something like Carrot, don’t worry, he investigates and soon realizes the appropriate diet for a rabbit.

His mom was so proud.

The two found each other the same week Deuce decided to turn his life around, he took it as a sign he was going in the right direction.

Do anything to scare the rabbit and he will throw hands.

The bunny is very willing to bite and kick. Unfortunately, that also includes some furniture damage.

Also, he brought Carrot with him to the White Rabbit Fest. “Carrot, give me your rabbit wisdom.” “...” “Thank you.”

Ace: Hare

Please help. I have no ideas for the name and I don’t think Ace would call his familiar March.

Yes, he and Deuce see the irony too.

Ace insists his familiar could beat Deuce’s in a fight.

His brother probably teases him for an animal such as a hare but Ace's comeback is that his brother doesn’t even have a familiar yet.

That hare is as teasing as Ace, a nightmare duo. If you find bite marks or missing things you know who is to blame, Ace will insist his familiar is innocent and if it isn’t c’mon is just a cute hare.

If Riddle could he would collar them both.

More theory about Crowley

Sooo @whynotread4fun and myself were talking about Crowley.

We're both against the theory of Crowley being Levan and for the Theory of Overblotted Crowley (see my posts on thoses two subjects)

But... that don't mean he can't have a relation with the Draconia family, not as a family himself but, listen.

In Crowley's card, when the others ask "by the way, how old are you?" Crowley just change subject. Like if his age wasn't normal, even for a fae. So for me he's really super old, older than Lilia or Maleficia (Malleus' grandmother... and no, it's not Maleficient).

Peoples say Crowley is Levan because of Maleficient having a crow... uh yeah why not... so if a character is based on Gepetto he should be married to a cat beastman representing Figaro? If we follow the same logic... I know there is a certains tension with her crow/human pet in the live action movie, I don't know about the second movie, haven't saw it yet... but remember Twisted Wonderland is based on the timeless original masterpieces, not the shitty remakes (I liked Maleficient... and Cinderella... but thoses are the only "remake" I accept, as a different adaptation of the story and not remakes).

BUT... what if the Draconia family's advisors were crows faes for years? Crowley would have been a royal advisor, maybe even for Maleficia, or the precedent one, like, when Lilia/Meleanore/Levan were still children, that's why Lilia don't recognize him. And why Lilia especially received letters from Night Raven College, because even if Lilia don't remember him, Crowley remember Lilia and knew he could be a potential great student. (Yes, I imagine he was already the headmaster at this moment)

Now, why would he stop being an advisor?

Well, that join the overblotted theroy. The reason he overblotted.

Remember thoses old farts from the senate! How they treat any other faes that are not dragons. They would hate the fact a filthy crow is the royal advisor. Maybe even Crowley proposed ideas that was not liked by the senate (like just the fact to let Valley of Thorn evolute with time)

So the senate would have been on his back during all this time but Crowley have a strong mind... so they would have attacked his family instead, leading to an overblot.

Now, two possibles ideas on how he can be still in a overblot and alive, and not having a phantom. Either a member of his family used an old forbbiden magic and sacrificed their own life to seal/destroy the phantom, making the phantom disapear but Crowley stay stuck in overblot. (we were thinking his mother could have do it)

Or maybe his dear friend, the actual queen, maybe Maleficia herself, did the same thing but without losing her life, but maybe while becoming weaker, but as a dragon, even weaker than normal is stronger than other races.

In both case, maybe it kind of sealed part of his magic too, and that why he can't use big spells! Remember in his card, when he use the whip of love and the MC is like "Woah that was impressive!" and he look sad and answer "not really"...

So after that incident, he would have left the Valley of Thorn and then became the headmaster of NRC!

By the way, I was wondering, have you seen the movie Maleficient? I don't think they should pretend that she was ever a good person, but as a separate movie it seems cute from what I've seen of it. Thoughts?

I think Maleficent could have been an okay movie if it had zero connection to Sleeping Beauty and Maleficent.

Maleficent is a very specific characterization of the villain from the legendary Sleeping Beauty fairy tale. She's unique to the Disney studio. In the original fairy tale, I'm the evil witch is just an old hag who curses the princess and then disappears from the story.

But Disney made this incredible design and gave the character a personality and a name.

And in the animated version, she's perfect. Because Sleeping Beauty is a demonstration of the difference between good and evil, and what is worth protecting about goodness, versus what is worth killing about badness.

So you can probably see where I'm going. In Maleficent the movie, Angelina Jolie decided she wanted to be the hero, and the villainess, and the tragedy, and the love story, and the mom, and the vengeance-of-Smaug, and the goddess, all at the same time. And it totally destroyed the whole point of Sleeping Beauty, and the whole point of the specific Maleficent character, and it made for a really boring and cringe movie.

Because I can't emotionally invest when the movie doesn't know what it wants its main character, the NAME OF THE MOVIE, to be. Even if it WEREN'T a paste-over of the original Sleeping Beauty. Which it is.

i think what made d4 feel so weird and honestly bad was their lack of use of the characters. for example in descendants 1-3 ALL of the characters with a speaking role were used to help move the story along. whereas in d4 a lot of characters had almost no lines, despite being given big names. i mean c’mon.. MALEFICIANT and HADES themselves were barely featured, the movie wouldnt be any different if you took those two characters out. same thing for captain hook, aladdin, and jasmine

Kotlc Characters as Actors in their Movie

These are things that I imagine could happen based on personality. Some are also based on things I've seen actors do or say. Also, for the purpose of none of them being actual people, Ethan Benedict Wright is the director.

Casting Young Keefe (based off casting young Aurora in Maleficient)

Gisela: They tried a lot of young actors who had great audition clips, but for some reason, they all failed the actual scene with me.

Cassius: It's because you're terrifying.

Gisela: I just wear my normal makeup!

Cassius: Exactly! That's why your kid is the only one that worked.

Gisela, Elwin, and Oralie walk into set before getting ready to film scenes back to back with Keefe and Sophie. Gisela and Oralie have the coffee while Elwin has the scones.

Gisela: Come hug your favorite T.V. moms!

Keefe and Sophie: *both run over to tackle Elwin*

Gisela and Oralie: *pouting*

Oralie: This is why I auditioned for a councillor.

Kenric and Fintan are about to do the Everblaze scene.

Fintan: Hey, when you tackle me, make sure to get my good side. *gestures to the left side of his face*

Sophie and Keefe just finish getting the best cuts for the window sleepovers in Neverseen after a day of filming them.

Fitz, walking by after grabbing a donut: I don't think he's pretending.

Sophie: Keefe...

Fitz, hitting drums from the sound department: Wake up!

Cassius: Yeah, there was one really funny moment on set when Keefe was supposed to be swimming at the Shores of Solace, and I was supposed to be leaving.

Keefe: Not this again—

Cassius: And he didn't know how to swim! Keefe lied about it on his resume, so I just did the responsible thing and continued the scene.

Keefe: *pouting as Cassius's laughs completely take over the microphones*

Ethan, desperately: He did come back!

Cassius: Oh yeah, I forgot that. For legal purposes, I did come back after the scene finished and helped him.

Keefe: I could have died!

Cassius, envious: I know! Sixteen years old and you already have an awesome story on set!

Ethan, being damage control: He did not drown. We had it under control. Everything was perfectly under control.

Sophie, reading through one of the last scenes in Legacy: Hey, I think I have the wrong script. This version doesn't look right.

Oralie: Don't worry, it is.

Sophie: I can't have three TV moms. Now, I'll never catch a break!

Wylie: *laughing so hard he's crying*

Sophie: At least I *have* TV moms.

Wylie: Hey, just because Cyrah and I have never met doesn't mean that I don't have one! Younger me technically is me, so it counts.

MXTX x Descendants

Years ago @theballadofmars and I created a really specific and weird mxtx novels x Descendats au were most of the cast were OCs and everything was rewrited, and since the new movie came out the other day well... we remembered our dear au and I redisigned the VK squad:

GHOULS HALLOWEEN COSTUMES

Halloween season has arrived, and I've decided to note some of the headcanons that I've had in mind for the ghouls recently.

Here are my favorite ghouls / by elements

🪐Omega = he's not really a Halloween guy. I mean, they already wear costumes. He can't be bothered to put effort into it. Just to fit in, and because it makes his companions happy, he'll dress up as an alternative version of ghouls. He might come out of the abbey in his true form because it's the perfect opportunity for it, or just add something to his usual look that enhances the "infernal" aesthetic. In the end, he's the one ghoul that actually scares people away, even without trying.

🪐Aether = always wears handmade costumes. It's elaborated with a lot of details but comfy. Halloween is for him the best opportunity to create a look for himself that he usually wouldn't have the courage to wear daily. He might cosplay as a 70-80's rockstar for example, and you'd recognize who he's supposed to be from miles away. Also more importantly, he's the costume-nurse. He always makes sure his costume has an integrated bag or pockets for glue and stitches. Last year for example, he was a jedi, and he was very happy about being able to wear a discreet tool belt.

🪐Phantom = of course, a vampire. But he'll only wear something dark and classic. Think old horror movies. He'll have his hair pull back, very bad fake fangs, red contacts, a cape… He'll also be fully invested in his role all night, so expect to hear some old English come out of his mouth at all times. Just call him by his character's name exclusively !

⛈Zephyr = loves having costumes that include his disabilities. Although he can walk just fine, going trick-or-treating is very long and difficult for him. He decorated his wheelchair as the Scooby-Doo van last year. He's done a lot of physical therapy this year though and feels excited about trying canes instead.

⛈Cirrus = she likes opening to kids that trick-or-treat at the Abbey's doors. In consequence, she will usually wear something that'll be easy to understand for them. Can be a simple witch, Morticia, Emily from the Corpse Bride… Last year she was Maleficient. Her costumes are never modest, though. She puts a lot of work into looking believable. It's a lot of organization and stress, but she always cherishes the kids' reaction in the end.

⛈Cumulus = She's always something evil. She doesn't cosplay as anyone in particular, and only makes her own looks. She loves elaborated makeup. She can paint her whole body if she desires too. Don't ask her who she's supposed to look like, this is always an original from her collection. She's here to impress.

🌿Mountain. Mountain... = he always fails his costumes. Nothing fits him. He never plans long enough in advance for it to work. He's disappointed about it every year, and still can't manage to fix it. This year though, he finally gathered the courage to ask for help. He'll have Sunshine to help him find clothes, and Cumulus for the hair and makeup. He'd like to be a hobbit, but he's starting to think he'll be more believable if he cosplays Gandalf - of course, he's not really hobbit-sized. If he can have an excuse to smoke all night, well...

🔮Sunshine = she doesn't have time for costumes. Her main concern is to be the party's organiser. Before she joined the Project, the ghouls had never planned any kind of gathering together for Halloween. She wants to be with her family and that's the only thing that counts. She'll just put something a bit festive, do her hair and put on some "scary" makeup, (which for her is dark shadow and eyeliner). Maybe washable dye or glitter in her hair this time around ? Nothing that can make dancing and running around uncomfortable !

🔮Swiss = is there a better opportunity to be naked ? On Halloween, his sole missions are to 1.be sexy 2.dance. Whatever year it is, his shirt is always wide open and tucked in his pants to enhance his tight waist, his chest always exposed, and his feet always moving... He doesn't mind any addition of costume or makeup that will make him prettier, but never purposefully goes that way by himself. 🔮Aurora = absolutely has the most feminine costume you'll see the entire night. She cannot not be hot, but maybe not as intensely as Swiss. She's the girl that wears the bunny outfit, the Barbie outfit, the Tinkerbell or Daphne outfit... The hair is down and the skirt is mini. Her only rule is : sexy but always secure. She has to wear warm tights and good shoes. Being pretty shouldn't stop you from running, jumping, and staying up all night. Special mention : this year, since it's their first Halloween together, they want to do a hot-couple-costume.

🌊Rain = has the boring but cute costume. If you don't know him, you can't really see how it's a costume most of the time - to be honest he always looks like that. He just genuinely doesn't need more material than what he already has. He thinks dressing up is cool but hates having to spend his whole night adjusting his costume or being careful with it. Last year he was the Phantom of the Opera, but he found the mask restraining. This year he's thinking about maybe a proper suit, a hat, his usual jewels and a bit of makeup. With some luck it'll pass as a period costume.

🌊 Mist = will always hide herself under her costume. You can never recognize her. The only thing she cares about, is surprising others. If she dresses as a character, it'll be a slay version of them. This year she's doing the Grinch, so expect green manucure, a pink dress and fake eyelashes on that green fursuit. Count on her to wear bad bald caps and colored paint all over her body. She doesn't take herself too seriously and is only here to have fun.

🔥Alpha = much like Omega, doesn't care about Halloween. You'll find him doing his actual job in the Abbey, at the yearly ritual that none of the new ghouls have the decency to assist. Traditions are really lost with the young generations...

🔥Ifrit = was, is, and will always be the guy who shows his muscles. He's into action movies and old rockstars, so it's only ordinary that he dresses as such. He'll be Han Solo, or Freddy Mercury, or Wolverine. Ifrit has the softest heart out there, but he's peak masculinity when it comes to looks, and he cares about his heroes. Right now, he's into 00's sci-fi/horror and still searching for some cool costume that will stick to his skin just *right*.

🔥Finally, Dewdrop = Don't ask stupid questions. Don't joke about Halloween with him. Don't even make suggestions. He has already had everything planned since November 1st. He has notebooks full of dark designs for corpse paint that involve fake (or real ?) blood, and a wide range of colored face paints in his drawer just for that event.
