Baldur's Gate 3 X Innocent! Reader
Characters: Astarion Ancunin, Shadowheart, Gale Dekarios of Waterdeep, Lae'zel, Wyll Ravengard, Karlach and Halsin
Tags: friends to lovers, acquittances to lovers, in denial, overprotective, fluff, indirect kisses, Gale being Gale, fake love (until it's not), established relationship and innocence.
Warning: SFW. Light suggestive themes.
A/N: Yes, your eyes do not deceive you. No, I'm still in a chokehold-
Astarion Ancunin
“Well aren’t you just the cutest thing ever? I could just eat you right up, darling~.”
When he first met you, Astarion knew you were an easy target. A nice meal he could exploit, especially if you’re a virgin, and a great pawn for the road ahead. He would deliver sweet nothings to you in hopes of sleeping in your bed and drinking from the pure blood that coursed through your veins. But as time continued, as you showed how sweet you were, the pale elf found himself genuinely falling for you.
He wanted to protect you from the world around both of you and bite anyone who tried to hurt you. He’d even hesitate on feeding from you out of fear he’d hurt you or expose himself to your pained gasps. You were his precious jewel he couldn’t afford to be taken from him or tainted in any way. With everyone else, he’s still a flirtatious and snarky vampire spawn. But around you, he will always be a sweet man who wants to make sure you’re okay. His princess/prince… That being said, don’t expect him to stop flirting with you. He adores when you get flustered.
Shadowheart
“Stand behind me! I don’t want you to get hurt! Just do as I say, okay?!”
At first Shadowheart thought you weren’t real. That there was no way in the nine hells that there was someone as pure as you. She genuinely thought your personality was a charade. So she watched you carefully, waiting for you to show your true colors in the form of berating someone or betraying one of the campers. But you never did. You always stayed true to yourself.
When she realized that you were probably the most modest person in your motley crew, the Shar Worshipper became attracted to you. She spent more time with you and suddenly felt like she needed to take care of you along your adventure together. Similar to Astarion, Shadowheart tries to be ever so gentle with you, never using pain in bed and out of bed unless you approve of her actions when she asks for permission. It’s evident to everyone she cares deeply for you and wouldn’t mind spending her life with you.
Gale Dekarios
“It’s been such a long time since I’ve seen the embodiment of happiness. Who knew I would find that in you?”
You had Gale’s heart as soon as you said hi to him. It didn’t take long for this man to turn into putty around you nor to become friends with you. And he fell in love when you always gave him magical objects without hesitation. Asking him if he’s alright and stroking his head after he eats his weave? He was swooned. The closer you two became, the more the wizard would share his life with you like an open book and offer any kind of lesson in magic to you.
It didn’t take long for him to admit he had romantic feelings for you, leading to you to become a couple. At camp, he is a gentleman, always asking if you need anything in between kisses to your cheek and becoming bashful with you when you bless his ears with your giggles. Outside of camp, he’s focused on you, making sure no one lays a finger or spell on that cute head of yours. You bring the best out of Gale and make him the happiest man in all of the realms.
Lae’zel
“G’lyck. If you’re hurt, then go to the ghustil… Hurry up or I’ll drag you to her myself.”
You were a liability to Lae’zel. Always getting hurt? Never killing your enemies? Checking up on everyone over yourself? She wanted nothing more than to throw you to the wolves so you wouldn’t ruin the group’s odds of survival. She hated you with a flaming passion. She hated how you always asked if she was okay. How you always treated her wounds after a battle and dare to kiss her injuries better. How you cowered behind her during combat.. And especially how you made her heart flutter when you slept across from her by the campfire, watching your cute face in a state of peace…
If it was up to her, she’d kick you out of the camp for what you’ve done to her. She swears it. But for now? She guesses she’ll keep you around for a little longer. Besides, she knows without her you’d die out there. You need her and she needs you.
Wyll Ravengard
“Don’t fret now, I won’t let them lay a finger on you, not when the Blade of Frontiers is right by your side.”
Wyll always wanted to have a romance like fairy tales. Save a fair princess or prince from their troubles like a knight in shining armor while slaying dragons. To meet someone who was the sweetest thing alive and experience real happiness with them by his side. So when he met you, you can bet he felt like he won the jackpot! He found your bashful nature and careless personality to be a breath of fresh air, especially when he was punished by Mizora.
At first you were a great friend, but when you took care of him, polished his horns and always checked if he was alright after fights, true love sprung between you two. It didn’t take long for him to confess his feelings to you and take your hand as your boyfriend. From that day forward, he’s been your savior on and off the battlefield when he wasn’t your sweet lover that showered you in compliments and kisses. You are positive that with Wyll you are bound to have a happily ever after.
Karlach
“Aww, you’re so adorable I just wanna squish your cheeks and hug you forever!... I can?! Well, come here, you!”
It was love at first sight between you and Karlach. After you splashed her with water and made sure she was okay, the barbarian’s heart was in your hands. She was so used to meeting backstabbers, manipulators and liars that she wasn’t sure there were any good people left. But you proved her wrong and she was so happy you did. Because of you, she made it her sole mission to get infernal iron so she could touch you.
When she couldn’t, she would share indirect kisses with you using rocks and even gift you her teddy bear Clive when you couldn’t hold her. And when she finally was able to touch you, she held you as if her life depended on it. There isn’t a moment where you two are not touching in and out of camp. You make her feel alive again in more ways than one and to her you are her soulmate. She loves you so much and will do anything to make sure you know that.
Halsin
“If you were a part of nature’s divine design, then you are a pure ray of sunshine given by the Oak Father.”
Halsin immediately gave you his trust and respect when you saved him without a reason to. It didn’t help that he also found you to be adorable with how nervous you got around him and how you stuttered a bit. With how you were, the druid quickly grew an interest in you, wanting to be beside you and feel your skin against his. He loved how you were so considerate when he wild shaped, petting his head and playing with him effortlessly.
In the wilderness, you were something like his mate, always protected by foes and checked for injuries. If there were any, he would bandage them as quickly as he could and carry you the rest of the way back to camp. When everything was settled, he’d immediately cuddle you as himself or as a bear. You were perfect in every way to him and for that, he would be your sole protector no matter what.

.⋆。Let Me Be Your Bear。⋆.

It had been an accident really. You knew Karlach was just curious about the small stuffed animal that was sitting on top of your open pack, she didn’t mean to turn it to ash as soon as she touched it and you didn’t resent her for it, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t break your heart just a little bit.
Especially now as you lay by the dying fire, clutching a small bag Wyll had given you for the ashes tightly to your chest in some vain attempt to receive the same warmth the toy had given you before. You knew it was silly, it was just a small bear you found at the beginning of your journey but it was comforting on the darkest of nights when you were stuck with your thoughts or nursing some wound.
Sighing, you rolled over onto your back and came face-to-face with the massive druid who was standing over you, looking at you curiously. You inhaled sharply in shock, clutching the bag even tighter. Halsin just tilted his head. “Why are you holding a pouch?”
Heat crawled up your neck in embarrassment. “It’s dumb.” You mumbled, but his sensitive ears caught each word. Firelight flickered over his face yet the light in his eyes was even brighter.
“You can tell me you know. I have been told I am a good listener.” You sighed, patting the ground beside your bed roll. With no hesitation, Halsin took a seat beside you, his muscular thigh only a few inches from your soft one.
Your fingers toyed with the small braided rope that tied the top of the pouch together, the ends already frayed from your nervous fiddling. “It was my bear, it was accidentally burned up which I understand, it wasn’t deliberate. But I can’t sleep without it.”
Halsin hummed under his breath and you braced yourself from some teasing remark (perhaps you were spending too much time with Astarion) but it never came. Instead, the druid smiled softly at you. “Perhaps, you would allow me to help, with your permission of course.” He must’ve noticed your confused expression because he quickly spoke again. “I think you forget, I myself am a bear.”
Realisation dawned on you then, which was quickly followed by bashfulness. He was offering to let you cuddle him just so you could sleep. That of itself was an enticing offer, he was an incredibly handsome man, only a fool would deny that. But more than his outward appearance, he had a gentle and kind soul, one you had quickly fallen for.
“You don’t have to.” You replied but Halsin laid one massive palm on top of your knuckles, easily enveloping your much smaller hands.
“I want to.” No other words were needed. He pulled away from you just far enough for him to shift without hurting you as his eyes began to glow a beautiful gold. You blinked and suddenly there was a brown bear standing before you. He huffed and nudged your shoulder, pushing you to lay back down.
You didn’t even notice as the pouch slipped off your lap, too focused on the way that Halsin’s huge front legs now straddled your wide hips as he himself lay down between your legs. A soft groan was forced from your lips when he placed his head onto your soft stomach but it wasn’t uncomfortable, far from it actually. His weight on top of you eased the tension throughout your body and you quickly found yourself overwhelmed with exhaustion.
He gazed at you with emotions you couldn’t quite comprehend, watching with some satisfaction as you relaxed beneath him.
Your arms curled around his head as best you could, rubbing one of his ears between your fingers. He gave a satisfied groan, his black eyes shutting. “Thank you.” You whispered and he nuzzled further into you, almost purring as your closed your eyes.
“What in the bloody hells are you doing!” Astarion’s shrill voice cut through the tranquillity of the morning, startling you from your surprisingly deep slumber. Hot breath fanned across your face as the massive bear on top of you growled before settling back to sleep, his huge maw resting on your sternum.
“Sleeping.” You grumbled and your fingers tangled in his dark fur.
“Well yes I can obviously see that but why do you have a bear on top of you?” You cracked open one eyelid to glare at the elf who looked greatly put off by this whole thing.
“He’s my bear.” You answered simply as Halsin groaned in agreement, both of you wishing to go back to sleep and maybe get another blissful hour of just holding each other.

By complete accident I somehow have the autopsy scar mod on top of the bhaalist tattoo mod, don’t ask me how they’re both on my durge I have no idea how it happened. But it got me thinking how would the origin characters (+halsin) react/barely react to a lover that is heavily scarred and tattooed? (Set in Act 1)
Read more for the full brainrot
Astarion: The first time Astarion saw your body for himself was when he walked past your tent late at night, through the flaps in the entrance he saw all those scars, he couldn’t tell what had you awake this late in the night, especially mostly naked with your back turned. The vampire simply continued on his way to hunt for the night. He dropped it there, until that is, the second night in the clearing you two spent together. He was lying down leaning his head against his arms as his red eyes stared at your naked body. His eyes flowed down every scar that littered your body, he barely seemed to look at the tattoos but that’s what he asked about first “So, can you translate that one?” - he points to the tattoo across your left arm, lifting up the limb you pull your skin to take a proper look at it. It’s been a while since you properly saw it, because just out of sight enough to make it annoying to stare at. When you tell him Astarion seems content with the information. His fingers drift across the tattoo. It’s a tender moment until the elf’s hand floats toward your neck. His ice cold fingers dancing across the lingering puncture wounds on your neck - “But these are by far my favorite mark on you,” You lean into Astarion’s touch releasing a chuckling sigh before calling him the weirdest flirt you have ever seen.
Gale: He really didn’t mean to go to the river at the same time he truly meant to go two hours early when he said he would, but that tome was particularly interesting - the effects of adrenaline on libido, certainly important for a man so restricted by his netherese orb. But now it was two hours past and he definitely had a musk going on. Taking an extra robe and rag Gale went to the nearby river, only you were there too. Illuminated in moonlight you were bare in front of him. Gale cleared his throat loudly, trying to let you know he was there. What he did not expect was for you to whip around and get out of the water to say hello. He tried his best to only look at your face, he did not succeed. Your skin was glowing with a vei of water cascading down in droplets. Gale’s eyes followed one droplet from your hair, down your neck, across your chest until a certain tattoo caught his eye, infernal script. Trying to keep his focus on the tattoo rather than the flesh its on he asked you if it meant what he thought it did. He was right in fact, and you told him the story behind why you got it, quite the nice tale. The wizard relaxed enough to notice another scar across your soldier “Is that from a magic missile?” He asked without thinking. Nodding in confirmation you turned to show your shoulder blade where the other two missiles struck. As you turned around the coldness of the night hit you like a thunder wave, a massive shiver shook your entire body spraying tiny water droplets around. “Gosh you must be freezing,” - Gale wrapped you in his towel-rag before stressfully ushering you back towards the camp. Once you got back to your tent you realized you left your towel and clothes on a nearby rock, you could return the peeping Tom favor.
Halsin: Halsin adores you long before he ever saw your birthday suit, sure he thought about it, quite a lot, but with his focus deep on the shadow-curse he doesn’t have time to do much other than think about out. But the first time he does see you was far from romantic or sensual. A hook horror had slashed your entire back open when you got to close, and Halsin watched it all happen. Before the beast even hit the ground he was rushing over to you, he didn’t think, he just ripped your armor right off of you to get to the wound. You might have been screaming but his ears were ringing too loud to tell one noise from another. Halsin couldn’t even see where scar ended and fresh cut began, your tattoos were doused in enough blood to make them impossible to see against your skin. The bear of an elf’s hand floated above the wound with the same glowing blue light the hook horror’s body was basking in, thank silvanus he was far enough from the sussur tree for his magic to work. Even with his healing a scar in the same place as the monster's claw marks stayed. Halsin’s druidic skills must be faltering, that’s what he determines at least. Until the next day, you’re healed fully up and about getting ready to leave camp for the day. Halsin calls out your name - “I’m sorry I could not heal you fully, I tried best I could but the scar persists” to his confusion you begin laughing. The scar he’s so upset about has been on you for so long now, and you tell him such. His healing left no scar, in fact he healed you so well an old scar was able to show.
Karlach: The first time she saw you naked you were bathing next to each other after a battle. Even with Dammon’s initial upgrade you can’t touch each other, but you swore to find ways to be intimate without touching, just like this. However you neglected to inform her about what lay under your clothes until now, scars covering you head to toe interlaced with tattoos of varying quality. “Hey Soldier! How come you didn’t tell me before stealing my aesthetic!” You didn’t even register this was the first time exposing yourself in such a way, a brief moment of panic before you burst into a smile. “Come here, let me see them” Karlach makes you twirl around, using the faintest touch of her fingers to pull your arms out and see the tattoos wrapping around them. Her eyes continued to trail down your body, after a gasp she jumped back up to your face - “That burn scar looks like mine!” She said before pulling down her trousers to show you the near identically placed scar on her thigh. But Karlach didn’t ask about the obviously fresher stab scars, she continued to smile at her new discovery but lets the two of you properly bathe for once.
Lae’zel: Even when pinning you against a wall the githyanki warrior wasn’t particularly gentle. It’s not like you didn’t know what you were getting yourself into tonight, she had said pretty explicitly she seemed carnal pleasure. Somehow Lae’zel was even more assertive in such a scenario than during your adventures. You couldn’t even take your own armor off, she practically ripped it off of you. Your body is exposed to her in an instant, she doesn’t react, her hands go immediately to unlace your trousers and undergarments. The night is enjoyable even as exhausting as it was. Only much later does Lae’zel ever comment on them, and its in a conversation praising you two’s battle prowess “Each scar is a battle fought, a battle won.” You try not to tell her you have at least two scars from dropping the knife while cooking with Gale. She’s sweet in her own way.
Shadowheart: Shadowheart first saw you naked while healing a particularly cruel wound, goblin had snuck up on you and slashed your torso deep. You stabilized yourself quick enough with a healing potion but the wound persisted. After the battle you wandered your way over to Shadowhearts tent, asking for help. She laid you down atop her bedroll, sliding your shirt off as you let yourself relax into the makeshift bed. And then you caught it, Shadowheart’s eyes widened, shit. But she didn’t say anything; she pressed her warm hands towards your open wound as they lit alight with magic. Radiating from your gash the warm feeling washed over you, your eyes closed softly breathing out in relief. Shadowheart quelled her magic, looking over you for a fat moment. You can feel her eyes wandering over you, up and down your chest, down your stomach and across both your arms. The relief of healing has left you now but you’re still too scared to open your eyes. And then a soft hand traced along your largest scar, her fingers were so light it tickled. “I like your tattoos.” The half-elf’s voice was soft, her eyes focused back on your large scar, “How’d you get that one.” Whether or not you tell the story she’s content, happy to have this extra piece of you in her memory.
Wyll: Poor Wyll just wanted to ask about the plans for tomorrow, but not only did he smack his horns on the skeleton of your tent while entering but you’re also as naked as the day you were born. The man nearly shrieked like he saw a ghost, his entire chest swelled up with his shoulders shooting up and he looked like he just swallowed a frog. Without a word Wyll turned on his heel and left your tent, only after trying to cool his blushing face off did he even process all your markings. Upon the log he sat on he dragged his hand up and down his face trying to process what the hells just happened. And then you exited your tent, completely decent this time. You greeted Wyll and sat beside him wondering what he had barged in about in the first place. But the poor man can’t even look at you. He as calmly as he could gave you the sincerest apology you’ve ever heard. After your acceptance he finally turns to you “So what does that tattoo across your back mean?” You pause for a moment, then explain as best you can. And that conversation continues just like that, he’d ask how you got a certain scar or tattoo and you’d answer him. In return he showed you one particularly nasty scar on his arm from a monster he fought while traversing the sword coast. What may have started as the most embarrassing moment of your partnership ended with you closer than before.

Sleep
Summary:You take forever to wake up, and is to heavy of a sleeper to wake up
Type:Hcs:Halsin X Gn!Reader: Karlach X Gn!Reader: Gale X Gn!Reader
Version:Bg3
Halsin
Halsin finds it abit amusing, especially if you snore or talk in your sleep
Until you need be awake early, and end up passed out until the afternoons
Usually on those days he'll carry you
But still, hes gets abit annoyed at constantly having to carry you since you just won't wake up
Other days, he likes the calmness of the camp because only on the days you're fast asleep are all companions quiet and getting along to not wake you
And he knows you need the sleep, so he never wakes you
(Not like he could)
Karlach
She finds it so funny
Especially since people will try to wake you up and fail horribly
If she wouldn't burn your skin off she'd come snuggle with you
It's actually one of her favorite things about you, mainly because you look so peaceful and calm for once
She has tried to wake you up before, plot twist, didn't work
She likes doing stupid things to you while your like this
Like moving you somewhere higher up, drawing on your face, putting your hand in water, stuff like that
Gale
He loves it, mainly because now he doesn't have an excuse to wake up early
And he's got the worse sleeping schedule, so it's nice to finally be able to sleep in
If your dating he will snuggle with you
You two would be the worse
But when you guys do need to do something in the morning, it's such a pain and he will get annoyed by it
But, unlike halsin, he doesn't have the strength to just drag. So he ends up doing it alone
But on other days, he's glad you can sleep so peacefully
[A/n:Man, like three posts, maybe four today. I'm on a role(maybe). I hope you enjoyed]

Hi can I make a request I totally understand if you don’t want to write about this. I wasn’t sure if you take angst request like this so im sorry if I’ve sent this and you dont take requests like this. My request is for bg3 companions with a tav who is kind of a shell of a person. Like a demon could take their soul and they would fine with because they see no use for it. They just sort of go through life and are just waiting for their death. This is due to their tragic backstory that I won’t go into detail about but there is themes of repeated sa involved (you don’t have to mention this if you don’t feel comfortable) this request is based off of my oc which I hold very close to my heart and really just looking for some comfort right now. Like I said tho if this isn’t something you are comfortable with I completely understand.
BG3 Companions x Tav who is an empty shell (Comfort HCs)
Gale
Gale is a lot more perceptive than he appears to be
He notices the void of sadness behind Tav’s eyes
If Gale felt a genuine concern for Tav, he would ask to speak to them in private
When he approached them, he would not demand attention. Instead, he’d sit quietly beside them, offering only the weight of his presence. He wouldn’t try to fix them, but simply be there, sharing the silent knowledge that sometimes, just being was enough.
Wyll
Wyll would approach the situation quietly and calmly
He wants to ensure Tav knows that he – and the others – are a safe place for them to feel whatever they need to
Offers a listening ear and only comments if asked
“I know what it feels like to think you’ve lost it all,” he’d begin, his gaze gentle. “But I want you to know something. You don’t have to carry this alone. You have people here who care. And that’s worth something, even when it feels like it isn’t.”
Astarion
He understands, he really and truly does
He himself has been there hell, he is still trying to dig his own way out of the void
Astarion was not a man accustomed to offering comfort. He was far more at ease with sharp words and cynical humor than with gentle reassurances. But with Tav, it was different. When he saw the emptiness in their eyes, he felt an instinct he couldn’t ignore—a tenderness that surprised him, even though he would never admit it aloud.
“You know," he’d start, his voice unusually soft, "you’re not as invisible as you think. I see you. I know what it feels like to be hollow—nothing left but the shell of a person. But you’re still here. Still standing. And that counts for something."
Lae’zel
Comfort is not her strong suit, like at all
While she may not take the most gentle approach, she respect Tav like no other and does not with to bring them any unwanted harm
She didn’t have the words to soothe the soul, but she had something she could give: strength. Her voice would be sharp, but it was clear she was trying to reach through to them, to remind them of the warrior they had the potential to be.
She wouldn’t coddle Tav, but her presence would be one of unwavering support.
Halsin
(I believe he would be the best to go to when faced with anything troubling)
His own heart breaks at the sight of someone he holds dear in so much pain
While Tav does not show it, he knows them well enough to see through that facade
“You are not beyond healing, Tav,” he’d say, his voice like the rustle of leaves in the wind. “It may not be quick, and it may not be easy, but you can grow from this. And I’ll be here to help you, however long it takes.”
Shadowheart
Shadowheart understood loss in a way that few could. Having sacrificed so much in the name of her faith, she had learned the deep ache of feeling lost and broken, even as she clung to hope. When she saw Tav, something in her recognized the emptiness—the hollow look in their eyes that mirrored the darkness she had once lived in.
Shadowheart would not push Tav to speak, but she would stay close.
Jaheira
Jaheira wouldn’t offer empty platitudes or tell them to ‘snap out of it.’ Instead, her words would be measured, rooted in the kind of wisdom that comes only with age and experience.
Jaheira wouldn’t rush toward Tav or overwhelm them with too many words. Instead, she’d give them space but remain near enough to show she was there, a steady presence in the quiet of the camp. Her approach would be measured, as she always was, and her tone would be gentle, but there would be no hiding the firmness of her resolve.
Mithara
When she saw Tav—someone who had already resigned themselves to the idea of being worthless, someone who had already given up on their own soul—it hit Minthara harder than she would admit. It was a reminder of the darkness she had lived in and the toll it took.
“I won’t pretend I have the answers. And I won’t ask you to simply believe in something when you don’t,” Minthara would say, her voice tinged with the knowledge of her own mistakes. “But I can tell you this: You don’t have to walk through it alone. If you want me to stay, I will. If you want silence, I can give you that too. I am here.”
She would stay by their side, offering her presence more than anything. It wasn’t a grand gesture, and it wasn’t about trying to force Tav to snap out of it or seek some grand redemption.
Karlach
"Hey," she’d say, sitting down beside Tav and offering her broad, calloused hand. "You’re not in this alone, alright? I’ve been to places where I didn’t think I’d make it through. But I did. And I don’t care how long it takes. You’re going to make it too. You don’t have to be alone in this. Not while I’m around."
Her words would be warm, her fire like a shield around them. She’d hold Tav’s hand and, even if they didn’t respond, she wouldn’t leave. Her presence was a quiet promise that they didn’t need to do this by themselves.

would you love me if i was a worm?
featuring baldur's gate 3 companions!! i'm probably missing people. this is just based on my own playthroughs of the game (i only have 2 so far). inspired by tik tok.
lae'zel
"a worm? what kind of question is that? what situation would arise for you to consider such a thing?" she looks at you with suspicion to hear your response. "hypothetical? i don't see why i would care for a worm. but i guess i wouldn't be...hasty to squish you."
shadowheart
"i thought you were already a worm." she jests. "i already love you now. i don't think i would love you any different if you were more of a worm." you try your best to explain what exactly you mean, but she just smiles and brushes you off.
astarion ancunín
"a worm? you'd make a...i don't even know darling. what kind of worms are there?" he didn't concern himself with gardening. he wanted to keep his hands and nails relatively clean. "i guess i would, even if you would be slimy."
wyll ravengard
"is this a test? not to be invasive." you tell him that no, it wasn't. it was something that piqued your curiosity. "why of course! i don't think anything could shake my love for you! you would be an adorable worm and i'd carry your across the sword coast so we may experience the world together."
gale dekarios
"now there are few questions i have encountered that bring in a severity like this. but worms are fantastic creatures. they are quite necessary, you know." you ask him to just answer yes or no and that you weren't looking for any sort of explanation or backstory. "well i thought it was obvious. i would. there is a spell we can try out if you're really curious."
karlach
"a worm? i don't think you could ever be a worm. i know what real worms look you know." you assume she's talking about gortash and zariel. you clarify that you meant the creature within the soil. "oh. of course i would love you! who wouldn't? i bet you'd still be so cute!"
halsin
"what kind of worm? or have you not thought about that?" you tell him that you weren't aware there were different kinds of worms. "well, the answer would always be yes. but if you were to, say, turn into a worm, i would like to accomodate your needs as much as possible. some worms require a specific kind of soil or a certain amount of moisture. i would want to take care of you as best as i can."
minthara baenre
"normally i hold no regards for worms. but i guess for you, i would make an exception." she crosses her arms across her chest. "the real question is how would i know it was you. would you be able to talk? or would your face be on the body of a worm?"

Warnings: NOT BETA READ!!! nothing!! Just pure silliness
A/N: I had SUCH bad writers block with this one so I apologize if it’s actual doodoo TT but I love writing the bg3 party dynamic sm ugh
Halsin was used to being a pile of dust when compared to all his friends and companions. Despite only being in the middle stages of his life for an elf, he’d lived much longer than those around him.
Part of that knowledge made his heart ache in a weird bittersweet mixture of emotions. Living as long as he did caused him to see the rise of fall of friends and lovers and there was nothing he could do about it. It seemed like a cycle he was doomed too, one that would unfold the same as always.
Halsin knew almost no elves the same absurdly old age as him.
“Karlach I don’t think the camp really needs another cantaloue… we haven’t even finished the other two Wyll bought three days ago…” chided Halsin, placing a hand on top of Karlach’s and slowly guiding the round fruit in her hands back into the market stall.
“Yeah but mate, what’s gonna happen when shadowheart gets her midnight cravings and eats both cantaloupes in one night?” Pouted Karlach, gripping tightly to the fruit. “What will I eat then…? If you think about it… this purchase is just a tactical strategy…”
Halsin gave her a look, one he was all too familiar with when dealing with those much younger and less wise than him.
Karlach sighed and dropped the cantaloupe, making her way to another stall that sold hand made yarn woven weapon sheaths. (Not the best in terms of practicality but very aesthetically pleasing)
“Do you have this in a size Large?” Asked a voice and before Halsin could catch himself, he found his gaze landing on the stranger beside him. Also an elf from what he could tell with their pointed ears.
“The smithy by the Rivington general store sells the same armour for a cheaper price.” Suggested Halsin, moving slightly closer to the new bystander.
“I could…” he coughed, clearing his throat. “Show you the way if you need?”
Halsin had no idea what he was doing. One second, the elf was scolding Karlach and the next he was flirting with a complete stranger. Something in your eyes, the way you held yourself made him want to know you better, hear you speak his name.
“That would be nice…” you smiled, politely putting the not purchased armour back on the market stand and turning to Halsin.
A large crash resounded behind Halsin and he whipped around to find Karlach standing above a pile of shattered porcelain. Like a large dog unaware of how big she was.
“Hey you gotta pay for that!” Angrily shouted the storekeeper as he looked incredulously from Karlach to the shattered pottery.
“That one yours?” You asked, nodding your head in the direction of the destructive tiefling.
Halsin nodded, watching as Karlach tearfully handed over the little money she had.
“I’ve got nine of them back at camp.” He said wistfully, thinking back to the ruckus and chaos of camp.
“I’ve been on my own for awhile now…” you hummed, walking with Halsin as he began to lead you to the nearby smithy, Karlach jogging to reach up with the two of you.
“I’m Halsin.” He smiled. “And this is my friend Karlach.”
“Oh I know you! I spent a century with the emerald enclave, they spoke very highly of you.” You grinned, stuffing your hands in the pockets of your tunic as you walked.
Karlach smiled brightly, nodding her head eagerly. “You should see when he wildshapes! The bear is quite cute.”
“You were apart of the emerald enclave?” Halsin asked, pleasantly bemused as the city surroundings grew less and less frequent and more bursting countryside surrounded him.
“Not apart.” You explained, giving Halsin a sheepish smile. “Just lived with them a good while, even during that big battle with Ketheric Thorm back in the day, helped as much as I could.”
“I can’t remember the last time I’d met an elf who can recall such a time.” Halsin smiled gently. “Say… would you like to join us for dinner at our camp?”
Karlach gave Halsin a knowing smirk.
“That sounds amazing.” You grinned. “I’d love too.”
Despite the scene of utter chaos unfolding around him, Halsin couldn’t bring himself to tear his eyes from your thoughtful gaze.
Shadowheart and Lae’zel were currently arm wrestling for dominance while Gale fought back Astarion, telling him dinner wasn’t quite ready yet.
Halsin had brought you to a quite hill nearby, overlooking all the drama as you two had a quite chat.
“Can’t remember the last time I had a dinner like this.” You quipped, causing the grass to rustle as you leaned back.
“Would you… want to stay…?” Halsin asked shyly, weirdly awkward for a man of his calibre. He hadn’t felt like this in a long time, his usual confident and wise facade slowly melting. You made him feel like a dumb kid again, and he couldn’t get enough of it.
“It would be nice to have someone older with a little more wisdom join the party… I don’t think me and Jaeheria can last another day…” he added with a soft laugh, joining you in the grass.
“Jaeheria’s here?” You asked, raising an eyebrow. “I haven’t seen her in two hundred years.”
“You should stay.” He urged. “I also… just really want to know you better.”
Halsin gently placed his hand on top of yours in the grass, giving you enough time to pull away if you need.
“Yeah… yeah I’d like that.” You smiled, running your thumb over his knuckles and lifting your face to meet his rich hazel gaze.

You never thought you wouldn’t make it in time to save Astarion and yet- here you are, holding the soulless corpse of your lover.
His ruby eyes are dim, but the look of terror and grief is still etched into his beautiful face.
You killed Cazador right as he finished the ritual, but it was too late- the damage had already been done.
You’ve been screaming and trying to bargain with death for almost 2 hours now- the smell of his cologne fading every second and your hope diminishing even faster.
Eventually Lae’zel and Karlach drag your screaming, shaking form away while Halsin and Shadowheart prepare him for burial.
You say good bye to him that night, but you fall asleep on the freshly dug grave and pray to every God alive that this is just a nightmare.

Bite-Sized (15) - A BG3 G/t Fanfic
This contains g/t (giant/tiny content) so if that isn't your thing, then I suggest you stop reading. Thank you!
Read on Ao3
Chapter 1 | Previous chapter| Series master list
Summary: Ria returns to camp to find an unusual visitor.
Pairing: Astarion x f!borrower!oc (Tav/oc) (slow-burn)
Warnings: Some suggestive content (Ria's thoughts)?, mild vore mention.
Word count: 3.1k
Taglist: @whatthisfemsheplikes @alexcutecolly @rose7420 @empressxmachina @taters169 @feral-sins @smolgloves @smolkuriboh27 (if you want to be removed or added to the taglist, feel free to let me know!)
The walk back to camp was a long and somewhat embarrassing one. Unfortunately, this meant that Ria was left alone with nothing but her thoughts on her journey back. If only she could bury herself into a small hole in the ground, she would be content with that if it meant that she wouldn’t have to face Astarion’s smug face again. At least the pale elf seemed mostly amused by the entire scenario by the river more than anything. She hoped that since she had helped him fill one small gap in the origin of his scars, he might not tease her about ogling him back at camp…but knowing him, it seemed unlikely.
After some time had passed, she finally made it back to camp, or rather, what was left of it. Everyone had packed all their tents away, and the only thing that was left was the smoldering embers of the morning campfire. She scanned the camp, searching for any sign of her giant companions – which normally wasn’t difficult, considering how large they were. But, much to her surprise, she couldn’t see anyone.
They didn’t leave without me…surely not…?
Large, rattling tremors shook the soil beneath her feet and every single hair on the back of her neck stood on end. A hot gush of wind wafted over her shaking frame from behind and her heart spasmed in her chest.
There was something behind her.
Very slowly, she turned around to see just what exactly was breathing so heavily behind her back.
Her heart stilled immediately.
It was a bear.
“Oh gods…no.”
Tears welled in her eyes as she stared in horror at the great bear. There was no doubt in her mind that the beast would be more than happy to make a quick snack of her without a moment’s hesitation, or simply squash her beneath its great fuzzy paws.
Of all the creatures to end me…it had to be a bear.
Her mind attempted to focus on her magic. If only she could tap into it as seamlessly as Gale could, then perhaps she could scare the bear away. But no matter how hard she tried; she could feel no essence of her magic at her fingertips like she had back in the Goblin Camp.
But Ria didn’t want to go down without a fight, even if she couldn’t tap into her magic. When the bear decided it wanted to devour her, she would have her dagger at the ready. She frantically fumbled around for her blade and drew it out of its sheath, holding it in a trembling hand.
“I will be the most unpleasant meal you’ll ever have,” she said through gritted teeth, her grip on the dagger tightening. “And I will not go down without a fight.”
The bear slowly blinked a couple of times. It’s soft, hazel eyes gazed at the tiny borrower with utter tenderness that Ria didn’t know was capable from a beast like a bear. To her complete and utter confusion, the bear took a few steps backwards on gentle paws.
Ria couldn’t almost believe what she was seeing. Was this bear taking her threat seriously?
Before she could react to the bear’s strange movements, a white blinding light suddenly erupted from the bear’s towering figure. The beast gave one last guttural roar, the sound vibrating through the air so loudly that it shook her very core, before it succumbed to whatever magic had enveloped it.
The light slowly ebbed away, and instead of a bear standing in front of her, there was now a very large man. Ria’s eyes nearly bugged out of her head as she gazed at the man that towered above her. Of all the things she had been expecting to happen, this was certainly not it.
“You…you were a bear,” she managed to choke out, confusion painted across her facial features.
The man merely smiled gently in response, his face lighting up as brightly as the sun.
“Indeed, I was.” He brought one knee down to the ground to get more on her level. “I apologise if I frightened you.”
Now that the man was kneeling, Ria could take in his appearance. While everyone was enormous compared to her, she could tell that this man was extremely tall. In fact, he was probably taller than Karlach, which was saying something. As she drank in more of his features, she noticed that he had pointy ears, typical of that of an elf. Her eyes widened even further upon this realisation, as she knew enough about elves that they were average in height in terms of larger folk standards. A ragged scar dragged across the side of his face and his luscious brown hair was pulled back into a bun.
“Are you alright?”
Her mouth parted open as she attempted to form a sentence.
“O-oh, yes, I am,” she stammered. “Sorry, I just wasn’t expecting a bear to turn into an elf like that.”
“That is very understandable,” he replied, chuckling softly. “I suppose this might be the first time you’ve encountered a druid before. And I must admit, I do admire your fearless bravery when you thought that I was going to harm you. But where are my manners – my name is Halsin, I am the archdruid of Emerald Grove.”
Halsin!
The name certainly rang a clear bell in her mind. She remembered her companions mentioning that the archdruid potentially knew a solution to the parasite problem that was plaguing their minds, and he was the one they had rescued from the Goblin Camp.
“My name is Ria,” she smiled, her nerves somewhat at ease now that she knew he meant her no harm. “It’s nice to meet you, Halsin.”
“The pleasure is all mine,” Halsin responded. “But tell me, Ria, what is a little borrower such as yourself doing in a place like this?”
Ria sucked in a deep breath and began to tell Halsin everything – if the others sought out to rescue Halsin, and if he could remove the illithid parasite, she felt that she could tell him about her journey thus far. As she proceeded to tell her story to the archdruid, she watched as his face immediately fell when she described her first encounter with Astarion. The poor man looked completely horrified as she told him everything in detail. Once she had finished her story, there was a moment of silence as Halsin processed the information.
“That is…quite the story.” Halsin cleared his throat. “I am stunned that you forgave Astarion after he almost ate you, even the Oakfather himself wouldn’t be so forgiving as that.”
“He has saved my life on numerous occasions now,” she answered. “We’ve both decided to start fresh.”
“I see,” Halsin answered, still rather perplexed about the whole story.
“You…know that I’m a borrower,” she said slowly, changing the subject. “Not many people do. Or if they do, they’re surprised to see me. Have you met borrowers before?”
His eyes crinkled as his smile across his rugged features deepened.
“I have met numerous borrowers throughout my life,” the druid replied. “Many friendships I’ve shared with people of your kind, and some more than friends. But it has been many years since I have last laid eyes on one. You are the first I’ve seen in a long time.”
Ria’s eyes widened upon hearing Halsin’s words.
“You have?” she stammered.
“Oh, yes. There was a young borrower man that I fell deeply in love with during my youth. He had the sweetest button nose and hair that looked like honey.” A deep sigh escaped past Halsin’s lips, his gaze trailing elsewhere as he reflected on his past. “That was a long time ago now.”
The fact that the druid had friendships and even a relationship with a borrower completely blew her away. The very idea alone of being in such an intimate relationship with a larger being would’ve utterly frightened her not so long ago. And, frankly, a part of it still largely did. But she couldn’t stop her mind from wandering to Astarion, and the intimate moments they had shared on their journey thus far. Being kissed by lips larger than your entire body was a terrifying and intoxicating idea all at once. Astarion’s lips had been so incredibly soft to the touch. Imagining those same lips encompassing her body in a tender embrace once more made heat flush to her face.
By the gods! Stop thinking like that!
“Ria?”
Ria blinked, her mind in a daze, as Halsin’s gentle voice rumbled above her head.
She cleared her throat, shoving the thoughts of Astarion out of her brain forcefully.“You really haven’t seen another borrower recently?”
Halsin shook his head. “Aside from you, I have not. I’m sorry.”
Her heart sank upon hearing Halsin’s confirmation and a wave of disappointment washed over her. It wasn’t surprising, but it was still upsetting all the same and only furthered the idea that maybe she was one of the last of her kind after all.
“I figured as much,” she answered stiffly.
The rugged features across the druid’s face softened, his bushy eyebrows knitting together in concern.
As Halsin opened his mouth to speak, an excited squeal burst through her eardrums and travelled across the empty camp.
“Oh my gods – just look at his beaky little face!” Karlach’s voice rang clearly through the air.
Ria immediately felt more tremors rumble through the earth as the rest of her giant companions suddenly entered the clearing. And there were two new companions with them that made her heart spasm in her chest.
A white dog and an owlbear cub trailed behind Karlach and the others.
“They are just simply adorable,” Shadowheart cooed, dropping to one knee to pet the dog. “I’m so very glad they’ll both be joining us.” The dog simply lolled his tongue in response and attempted to lick Shadowheart’s face.
An owlbear cub and a dog were two animals that Ria never wanted to come face to face with in a hundred years. Why had her companions thought it was a good idea to bring two carnivorous animals so close to her?
Instinctively, Ria frantically scrambled to her closest form of protection – Halsin. He seemed to pick up on her fear induced state and immediately he offered her an open palm. She feverishly clambered onto the druid’s calloused hands and hid behind his large fingers – fingers that were larger than her entire body.
Halsin slowly rose to his full height and placed his other hand to shield Ria’s tiny frame. She hastily grasped onto his index finger for support as her heart pounded furiously against her tiny chest.
“Ah! I see you two have been acquainted.” Gale’s voice rang clearly through the air, although Ria could not see the wizard past Halsin’s fingers.
“That I have.” Halsin slowly unfurled his fingers to reveal Ria’s trembling form. She craned her neck upwards and saw Gale towering above her, his warm hazel eyes softening as they fell onto her frame.
“Apologies for the prolonged absence,” Gale said gently. “Karlach had encountered some animal friends a few days ago and she led them back to camp, and now it seems they have become additional members of our merry band.”
“Permanent?” All the colour rapidly drained from Ria’s face.
“Fear not, I will ensure that they both understand not to harm borrowers like you,” Halsin reassured gently.
Her nerves eased slightly as she exhaled shakily. Even though she had only just met Halsin, she had a feeling that he was certainly a man of his word and he would make sure that both the dog and owlbear cub understood that she wasn’t there for eating. If Halsin wasn’t there it would most likely be a different story.
“I do apologise for not consulting you earlier, Ria,” Gale said. “Karlach was very persistent that we take them on. The owlbear cub lost its mother to the goblins, and for the dog…well, he lost his owner. I didn’t have the heart to just turn them away like that.”
“None of us could,” Wyll added.
“It’s quite alright,” she replied. “Besides, this is your travelling party, not mine. My time here is only meant to be temporary anyways.”
To think all of this started was because I needed to find a more permanent place to live…
Gale’s eyes widened. “Oh, yes, you are quite right! But we do want to make sure everyone here is comfortable, no matter if they are a permanent member of the party or only temporary.”
“Thank you.” She gave the wizard a small smile.
It was during that moment that Astarion returned into the clearing. His hair was still damp from his dip in the river and his ruby eyes soon found their way to where she was standing on Halsin’s palm. Her heart caught in her throat as she locked eyes with the vampire and he simply smirked at her as he watched her expression.
“What two delectable little pets.” Astarion’s tongue swiped over his upper lip as his gaze flitted away from Ria and over the dog and owlbear cub.
“Chk! You will not be feeding on these istiks, Astarion!” Lae’zel growled, inserting herself in between the pale elf and the two animals. “They are not for eating. Do I make myself clear?”
Astarion merely rolled his eyes. “Oh, please, if I was serious, they would be a bloody mess by now.”
“Yeah, you better not be serious Fangs,” Karlach added, embers flickering across her skin as she glowered at the vampire spawn.
“Trust me, I’m not.”
“Well, now that we have that established,” Halsin interjected. “There is an important matter that I need to discuss with all of you.”
Everyone turned their heads towards the druid. All eyes were on him as a silence fell over the camp.
“As you are aware, unfortunately I do not possess the means to remove the mind flayer parasites from your skulls,” Halsin said. “However, I do know of a place where removal might be possible. Moonrise Towers.”
Ria’s mouth gaped open in shock upon hearing that Halsin, the very same archdruid that her companions had put so much effort into saving, couldn’t remove the parasite. Her giant companions surrounding her didn’t seem surprised in the slightest, albeit somewhat disappointed. They must’ve already had this discussion with Halsin yesterday when he had been rescued from the Goblin Camp and she was unconscious in Astarion’s pocket. But her eyes widened upon hearing Halsin mention Moonrise Towers. She remembered that Minthara had mentioned that place when she had been in the Goblin Camp.
Moonrise Towers…that’s where Araj is. The very same drow who is kidnapping borrowers and taking their blood.
“I did promise you all that I would help you in whatever way I could,” Halsin continued. “I am certain there is a cure for you all in Moonrise Towers. But…it is complicated. The journey specifically. It is extremely perilous. Although you all seem very well accustomed to such journeys.”
“To Moonrise Towers, then,” Wyll said. “May the sun and stars guide us.”
Gale tentatively stepped forward as worry deepened across his face.
“Ah, may I be so bold to ask why the journey is so perilous?” Gale questioned nervously.
Halsin exhaled deeply through his nose, his gaze forlorn. “To get to Moonrise Towers, you’ll need to pass through a terrible place – a cursed place. This curse shrouds everything in its shadow – you will not find life, light, or anything natural there. Any who linger there are twisted by the curse; they become shadow beings – tormented, dangerous souls.”
“Oh, this place sounds like an utter delight,” Astarion mused.
“The Absolute’s forces tolerate such a place?” Wyll commented, quirking an eyebrow.
The Absolute. That’s what those goblins were praising back in the camp…it must be some kind of cult.
“So it seems, though I don’t know how. You will have to choose your approach carefully.” Halsin’s fingers twitched ever so slightly around her frame, and Ria gripped tighter onto his index finger. “You could go overland – along the Risen Road or through the mountains. Easier at first, but you’ll run into the shadow curse eventually. You could also go under. There is a tunnel somewhere in the ruined temple of Selune. It leads to Moonrise Towers through the Underdark. Going through there would allow you to bypass the worst of the shadow curse.”
“Chk. We will be taking the Risen Road. The way to the creche is along the Mountain Pass. Being purified is our only solution.” Lae’zel’s nostrils flared as her seething gaze raked over everyone, as if she was saying that her word was final and anyone who said otherwise would be met with her fury.
“I don’t see any harm in trying Lae’s suggestion,” Karlach commented. “I mean, it can’t hurt. And if that doesn’t work, we could go to Moonrise Towers.”
“Tsk’va! Purification will work,” Lae’zel snapped.
“I suppose going to the creche is closer at this point in time,” Gale added. “Like Karlach said, we could try it first. Either way, I am absolutely thrilled to experience a real githyanki creche. I wonder if it will be like anything that I’ve read in my books.”
“I…I would like to come with you,” Ria said, raising her voice a little so that she could be heard over everyone else. “Moonrise Towers is where I need to go.”
“Are you certain of this, Ria?” Gale’s brows furrowed with concern. “It will be incredibly dangerous. I’m sure we can find somewhere more suitable for you to reside in that will be safer for you.”
Ria shook her head. “No, Moonrise Towers is where I need to go. There is a drow there, Araj, who is capturing borrowers for their blood. I need to find her and put a stop to whatever twisted operation she has going on there.”
“We can definitely take you there,” Gale said. “Besides, you’re practically part of our merry band now, it would be almost wrong to see you go.”
“Speaking of joining a merry band,” Halsin responded. “I would like to join your camp, if you’ll allow me. I can offer my skills, my counsel. I’ve longed to return to Moonrise Towers. It seems our fates have aligned.”
“I couldn’t think of anyone else better to join our esteemed group of peers,” Gale grinned. “Your skills and company will be most appreciated, Halsin.”
Halsin returned the wizard’s smile. “Thank you for having me. I will see to it that you’ll be guided safely to Moonrise Towers with my expertise.”
Lae’zel wrinkled her nose and narrowed her eyes. She didn’t seem entirely all that pleased that the others were still adamant on going to Moonrise Towers when purification was an option at the githyanki creche, but she didn’t say anything further.
It seemed that Ria had a much longer journey ahead of her than what she had thought.

the absolute whiplash I got when I realized I was accidentally romancing everyone when I started this playthrough
Astarion wanted to sleep with my tav even though he was doing lawful good shit and Astarion disapproved of it
Wyll flirted with him by the lake at the party and I know for sure I’m gonna get his dance cut scene soon
My tav had to turn Lae’zel down at the party
Every interaction with Halsin feels like soft core porn
Shadowheart was all “what you wanna tie me up or something *wink*”
and at the party there was a dialogue option I avoided like the plague when speaking to Karlach that said “I think I want to tell you how I feel…”
I have only been making decisions with Gale’s approval in mind and am successfully romancing him because of it but everyone else was also into it
meaning everyone saw this gangly awkward wannabe medical professional throwing himself in harms way to protect the vulnerable and do what’s right while also robbing people blind of their books and herbs
and they all just went
“I want you 👁️👁️”
