𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭, 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐫.
summary: law might hate bread, might hate sweets, but if eating them is the only way to show you how much he cares, then so be it. pairing: law x fem!reader cw: none! fluff, awkward law. some descriptions of food and textures if you're sensitive to that! wc: ~3.5k (wow!!)
an: this is for my amazing friend @guilty-sugar ! i recall you saying that you were good at baking, but sad that law probably wouldn't eat any. so, we're gonna make him >:)
i have not posted in soooo long so pls forgive me 🥲 i hope you all enjoy law and making him suffer by eating bread!!
the air is getting warm again, he can feel it. it grows so stuffy that he shrugs off his top layer, leaving him in that buttoned shirt he couldn't stop wearing after the one time you told him it looked good.
his eyes scan the medical papers in front of him, but his mind is annoyingly slow today.
law does a grand job of pretending that he doesn't know your schedule, doesn't know the tell tale signs that point to only one conclusion. the air grows hotter, the crew buzzes with poorly repressed excitement and the sound of clinking metal bowls echoes throughout the entire submarine.
it's baking day.
he's been preparing for this. he's finally going to face his biggest enemy yet, a foe that seemed much more intimidating than any warlord or emperor of the sea.
today, granted the ocean didn't swallow him whole, law was going to try some of the baked goods that you were known for making, including the bread.
the thought alone makes his skin crawl, but it pales in comparison to how small he feels in your presence. it irritates him, especially since your intentions have been nothing short of well meaning.
that's what he thinks, anyway.
law runs his tattooed fingers through the black strands of his hair, deciding to forget about whatever paper he's reading about in a bid to feel a semblance of control. he's overthinking, looking too much into things.
do you really smile at him more than everyone else? do you ask about his coin collection because you actually care or are you being polite?
within the upper quadrants of the polar tang, he can just barely hear the others hound you with questions about what you'll be making. no matter what it was, it was sure to be gone in a snap.
a dull thump shakes the sub, but he doesn't think much of it.
bepo, he thinks, probably slipped trying to gather ingredients for you. his suspicion is confirmed when the laughs of penguin and shachi follow shortly after, but the sound doesn't begin to compare to the one that flows out of your lips.
he represses a groan, his way of ignoring how his heartbeat momentarily diverts from it's usual rhythm.
his knuckles grip the sides of his chair, using it as leverage to push himself into a standing position before grabbing his hat and making his way to the kitchen. the air is almost uncomfortably warm now, but he can't find it in himself to be upset with you.
the submarine had been navigating the undersea currents for a while now. a visit to the surface was just about due.
it's not like he planned it like that. no, of course not!
he didn't even think about how the crew would be eager to hop off the vessel, didn't think about how you'd stay behind to bake while he took on the task of keeping you company.
he steps into the kitchen with curiosity, though his expression gives nothing away. it's that same almost neutral face, his brows slightly furrowed and lips teetering on a frown.
bepo is sitting on the floor of the kitchen, the flour dusting his form barely noticeable against his plush white fur. the bear is half-apologetic and half-embarrassed, the former directed toward you while the latter stemmed from the laughter going his way.
"sorry." he grumbles again, thought it looks like you couldn’t care less. bepo seems to have enough of his crew mates, tackling the other two men and making sure to get them covered with flour.
their complaints mesh with your amused laughs, a soundtrack that the polar tang's captain knows well.
law is blind to the scene before him, everything becoming out of focus as he spots you mixing some ingredients into a bowl. you're laughing, nose crinkling and mouth stretching into a grin that almost makes his stoic expression crumble.
the corner of his lips waver, just a little bit, your joy infectious in a way that makes him believe it's an actual disease.
however, he has work to do and baked goods to stomach.
"and what are you all up to?" he asks, arms crossing as he forces his gaze away from you.
it's almost comical how the four of you straighten up, abandoning whatever you're doing to raise a hand to your foreheads in a mock solute. the "hello captain!" that echoes across the room is practically in perfect sync, or at least enough to make him shake his head.
he sighs, telling you guys to quit it. "that doesn't answer my question."
penguin brings a hand down on bepo's back, a cloud of flour puffing into the air as he does so. "sweets day, cap!"
you affirm penguin's statement, tilting your head with a smile as you give a rundown of what's on the menu for today. some cupcakes, a few cookies and a loaf of sourdough.
just the mention of the bread is enough to make him tense.
bepo laxly nods in agreement with you, his black nose twitching as he catches the scent of vanilla extract. his head is in the clouds, not so much on his captain, so he decides to join you at the counter to mix some ingredients together in a bowl.
at the doorway, law gives penguin and shachi a deadpan look.
shachi chimes in with a grin, nodding his head in your direction. his words are meant to be sly, directed toward the captain, but he's unable to hide his amusement. "sweets day with the sweetest member of the crew, don't you think cap-"
"shut up." law interjects, brows pinching together as he takes in the poorly concealed smugness written all over shachi's face. it's on penguin's too now, while bepo has long since abandoned the conversation to help you instead.
it's only because they've known law for so long that the duo know how much he likes you. no amount of scolding or scoffs can make them think otherwise.
the captain can tell by their smiles that they think they have the upper hand, but he ignores them. law speaks before they have a chance to open their mouths again.
"get the sub ready to surface." he orders, cocking his head in the direction of the control room. "we're stopping at the next island."
that seems to get their attention, their heads perking up at the thought of getting out of the cramped submarine. the duo give law their best salute, scrambling away to make preparations for the sub's surfacing.
law shakes his head and lets out a sigh, taking some strong steps toward you and bepo. your dynamic with the bear is one that melts his heart more than he'd ever admit. the way you can shift from witty and bright to determined and caring makes him want to explore every side of you.
he snaps out of his thoughts when you lightly reprimand bepo for stirring the batter too aggressively, a chuckle threatening to leave him.
an announcement is made throughout the sub to prepare the crew for what's to come.
reluctantly, law makes his leave. he'll have time, he'll have you, but he has to take a couple minutes to brace himself for what will happen once the rest of the crew leaves the submarine.
another half hour passes before the sub's hatch is opened.
the fresh air is much needed, the cool breeze like a balm that quells the unease in law's chest. a series of footsteps echo throughout the submarine as crew members make their way to the exit, smiles plastered on their faces.
this island seems lively, welcoming. the sun casts a bright glow over the town in the distance, a plethora of shops and eateries nestled side by side.
even though law is staying aboard, staying with you, there's a sense of proudness that rushes through him as he takes note of the relief plastered onto the faces of his crew. he doesn't let it show, but clearly their happiness affects him.
he lets them run loose, trusting them enough not to cause too much trouble.
his eyes do narrow at penguin and shachi though, the two men snickering a tad as they walk off with bepo in tow. it's like they see through his plot, his ulterior motive, and the captain gives them a look that serves as a warning.
as the blurb of orange jumpsuits fades out of view, law is left with the sound of crashing waves and a light breeze.
his grip tightens on kikoku's hilt, a gesture that he hopes makes what he's about to do a little more easy.
the scent of baked goods wafts out the door, overpowering the salty sea breeze without issue. he can hear you humming along to some random tune, talking to yourself as you navigate through the kitchen.
he follows the trail like a ship to a lighthouse, drawn in by the warmth and splash of color you add to his life.
upon walking into the kitchen, he takes note of how your back is turned to him. you're washing some dishes, the spoils of your work organized neatly on the counter. just the sight of all the sweets is enough to make his stomach ache, but he persists.
you call out to him first, catching him in those all too common moments when he gets lost in his head. "captain? i thought you were gonna head out with the others."
turning off the sink, you dry your hands off with a towel and focus your attention on him. he doesn't miss the slight tilting of your head, how your eyes glimmer with curiosity.
oh, he was horrible at this. no matter how many times he practiced the script in his head, you found a way to unintentionally mess with his psyche. maybe it was your hair, your eyes, everything.
"needed to finish some work here." he lies, so smooth with his words that you don't even think to question it.
with a nod, you give him that smile, the one that pops up in his head while he's reading and makes him lose focus. "if you finish up, maybe you can meet the others in town. or you can keep me company here."
he takes your words in with a hum of acknowledgement, watching you navigate through the kitchen with a natural ease. for a second, he allows the comfortable silence to stretch. he summons all of his courage, swallowing his pride and nodding toward the delicacies on the table.
"can i…" his jaw tenses, the temperature in the room feeling as though it's rising with every tick of the clock. he squeezes the hilt of his weapon more firmly, his throat feeling dry as he looks between your confused face and the frosted treats.
he gets it together, not asking, but declaring. "i want to try what you made."
your brows rise at his words. it's not like your captain to try your baked goods. you'd never taken offense to his reluctance, as you were well aware of his eating habits, but this is completely out of left field.
one could hear a pin drop, his request lingering in the air.
"you… want to try them?" you echo back, unable to hide your skepticism. your eyes browse the array of treats, including the loaf of bread that was still cooling on its rack. "are you sure? which one?"
law doesn't mean to sound so snappy with his response, but internally he's freaking out. your doubt, the subtle concern in your voice, makes him want to prove himself even more.
"i'm sure." he insists, taking some steps toward you until he's at your side. his eyes scan the table, each morsel seeming to laugh in the face of his uncertainty. "i want to try each one."
your eyes follow his, the table sporting a variety of treats ranging from cookies to cupcakes to the star of the show, your fresh sourdough bread. in your head you prepare for disaster, creating a scene that's as comical as it is mildly concerning.
"if you lost a bet to penguin and shachi…" you start, giving him an apologetic glance.
he's quick to cut your accusation short. there are no bets, no pressure from anyone but himself. "no."
when he looks back at you, expectantly, as if he doesn't know how to approach this hurdle, you grab a plate and start to load it up. there was no way you were going to give him a full serving of anything, so you chop off a piece of each dessert and make what you think is a perfect sampler.
he takes the plate from you with a degree of reluctance, but the brushing of your fingers against his acts as a reminder as to why he's doing this. words aren't his specialty. hell, it's hard for him to show how much he cares in general, but he can do this. for you.
his tattooed fingers pick up a piece of… something. it looks sweet, like something he'd hand off to bepo. those black brows of his furrow a tad, as if he's trying to break down the pastry to an atomic level.
taking note of how he seems to be losing himself in his own thoughts, you speak up with confidence and snatch the remaining portion for yourself. "it's just a chocolate chip cookie." you explain, taking a bite of it yourself to show him how it's done. "flour, sugar, eggs…"
"understood." law sighs, trying and failing to act even remotely excited about what was to come.
his teeth sink into the cookie, only a small quarter piece, and he has to keep from making too much of a reaction. from the chocolate clinging to his tongue to the sweetness practically making his gums ache, he finds each chew to be a struggle.
but when his eyes lift to meet yours, seeing the look of anticipation on your face, he finds that the cookie isn't so hard to swallow.
his tongue peeks out to catch any remaining crumbs, shuddering as the sugary sweet taste lingers in his mouth.
he takes a step toward you, a small one, nodding his head and hoping you can't see the hints of pink starting to form on his cheeks. "it's good." he states, even though from your angle it had looked like he was trying to swallow glass. "what's the next one?"
it seems like eons have passed, perhaps the longest ten minutes law has ever lived through.
he swears his stomach is starting to hurt from the amount of sugar settling in there, and the smile you give him, the appreciation you show, doesn't make it feel any better. your presence makes him more jittery than any dessert, that much was certain.
while you were hesitant at first, not wanting him to strain himself, you can't deny that your sweets-averse captain willingly trying your concoctions was flattering, meaningful.
"okay, last one." you clap your hands together, glancing at the last piece of food on his sampling plate. it's a small chunk, not even worthy of being served as an appetizer, but to law, it might as well have been a death sentence. "the sourdough bread."
hearing the word alone makes law's jaw clench, his eyes narrowing as if he had a personal vendetta against the bread. even when he's picking it up, he can't help but scrutinize it.
"yeah, last one." he echoes back, his eyes finding yours in a sort of stubborn inquiry for support.
understanding what he needs, as usual, you grab a piece of the bread for yourself and hold it up. the nod you give him, allowing him to dictate the pace, seems to give him the confidence he needs to conquer this molehill he's made a mountain of.
after a playful countdown from you, he chucks the bread into his mouth and forces his teeth to bite down on it.
the first taste of it almost has him freezing up, his chest rising and falling slowly in an attempt to not let his nose wrinkle. the texture of the bread is killing him, the roughness of it seeming to scrape against his tongue in a way he's not particularly fond of.
hearing you hum in content, clearly pleased with the taste of your own creation, is almost like a slap to his pride- in a good way. he chews a bit more, it's almost damn painful, but he does it.
finally, when the last few chunks of bread are swallowed, law feels like he can breathe a sigh of relief.
"well, that's everything, captain." you smile, taking the plate from him and lightly placing into the sink. you're aware that this wasn't exactly easy for him, yet you're happy that he tried them. "what do you think? good enough for the crew?"
the answer should be obvious, as your treats were usually devoured within only a couple days of being made. law was confident that you could place ice in a bowl and the crew would eat it up without question.
"it's… good. everything was good." he replies, eyes following your every move. his heart feels a little more heavy in his chest, the lump in his throat harder to swallow than the goods he'd just tried. "the crew is lucky to have you."
i'm lucky to have you.
he inwardly curses himself for being so inexperienced with these matters and he places his hat on a nearby counter so he could run a hand through his hair. law is so caught up with his own inner turmoil that he doesn't notice how you grow a little bashful, how the laugh you give is more nervous than playful.
"thanks, captain." comes your response, the sound of clinking drawers filling the air as you started to properly store some of the goods for later. "that's sweet of you to say."
he hums, his way of telling you that he hears you. at the moment, he doesn't quite trust himself with speaking, his brows furrowing ever so slightly.
there is a comfortable silence for a few minutes, but it's not entirely suffocating. it's comfortable, almost welcoming. there are few people law was content to simply exist with, and you were one of them.
his mouth opens, your head tilting toward him as he states the obvious. "i hate bread."
it seems like a no brainer, your arms crossing while you change your position to face him better. "yeah, i know. what about it?"
law looks at you like he was looking at the desserts earlier. intense, almost scrutinizing, as if he would rather peer into your brain instead of hold a conversation.
"i hate bread." he repeats, the tension in his frame melting away a tad. "but i like it more when it's yours."
you're not sure how to respond to his admission, your jaw tense in a bid to keep it from falling to the floor. your captain is red faced, trying oh so hard not to just blurt out what he's been thinking for the past few months. it would be easy to get it out with a scoff, acting like it's not a big deal, but he knows you deserve better.
"everything has been better since… since you joined." the confession is heavy, the implication clear. this was no simple talk between a captain and their crew member.
while his cheeks get hotter, his brows furrow, his gaze doesn't waver from yours. he's watching for every reaction, anything that he can pick up on to confirm or deny his hopes, hopes which he rarely grants himself to believe to be possible.
your smile is a balm, the relieved laugh you give making him release a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding.
"i can never tell what's going on in your head." your shoulders rise and fall with each chuckle, your chest buzzing at his words, at what can, will, come from this. "you didn't have to try all the food. especially the bread. you know that, right?"
his lips tug upward into a small smirk, his confidence growing upon seeing how you're reacting to him. it's enough to make him take a few steps forward until he's right before you.
"thought it would be a good way to show you that i mean what i'm saying." he answers, the taste and feel of the treats now long forgotten. "besides, i see how disappointed you get when i don't try them."
the way your eyes avert, the small tilt in your head, only highlights your guilt. "yeah, okay, maybe a little, but i wasn't gonna force you to eat bread. and all those sweets…"
"i'll have to get used to it." his shoulders shrug, his expression going back into that more nonchalant one that you're used to seeing on him.
the words have your brows furrowing in confusion. "what do you mean? are you going to start joining us for baking day?"
"no. i'm not eating bread ever again, so consider yourself lucky for being the only one to see it happen." he casually states, silently reveling in how you react, before he allows his smirk to grow a little more wide. "i just have a feeling that you're sweeter, and i'm not planning on giving you up any time soon."

Eddie that sleeps with stuffed animals
When he gets into a relationship or even just makes friends he tends to hide his plush friends. For fear that he will be judged. when he started dating Steve, he tried his best to hide his room but Steve likes to surprise him.
One night Eddie was on his bed, writing ideas for his next campaign, when he heard a knock on his window. He shoots his head up to see Steve waving at him through the glass. Eddie’s face turns horrified and goes to shut the curtains before Steve can see the stuffed penguin he’s holding.
Eddie quickly covers all his plushies with a blanket and opens the curtains again, sheepishly smiling at a very confused Steve.
“Sorry love” Eddie says, opening the window “had to…had to clean up a little”
Steve looks softly at Eddie, a shine in his eyes that says he knows about Eddie’s secret. He goes and gently pulls the blanket off the plushies and smiles sweetly. He picks up the aforementioned penguin plush and squishes the belly
“What’s his name?” Steve says, holding the penguin out for Eddie to take
“Oh…uh his name is sir willington” Eddie says shyly, taking the stuffed animal and looking down in embarrassment.
Steve’s hand moves up to Eddie’s face, caressing and cradling his cheek. As Eddie leans into the touch Steve sighs…
“You don’t gotta hide this from me baby, I think it’s sweet. Why don’t you show me your little friends” Steve says to a wide eyed Eddie
Eddie smiles and begins rambling about his companions while Steve smiles and nods along, listening to the backstories and the roles of each plushie

「notes」 : starting off, everyone say 'happy sunoo day' because its our sunshine boy's birthday! here's to my favorite sunshine and my other happy pill!! I hope you guys enjoy the fic that I wrote for him!!
As the warm breeze washed over your body, you were filled with a sense of tranquility. You were thankful that it was sunny and warm for your boyfriend's special day. You laid out on a towel under the umbrella that Sunoo insisted he put up for you even if you told him that you would be fine. However, that fight ended like it does ninety-nine percent of the time: He did what he wanted regardless, and you had no choice but to let him.
“Hey, y/n, are you gonna join us in the water or just waste away under the sun?” Jake asked teasingly, causing you to prop yourself up on your elbows to glare at him.
“Fuck off, Jake; I know you’re just trying to find an excuse to dunk me in the water.” You rolled your eyes before fixing your sunglasses once more and laying back down, ignoring their laughter and chatter.
Then everything went silent, and any normal person would be happy to have it go quiet so they could relax. However, silence with your boyfriend and friends only meant one thing...
Chaos was about to ensue.
Before you could even open your eyes to check on what they were planning you were suddenly lifted off of the beach towel, a small scream of surprise falling from your lips as you were thrown over someone’s shoulder. It didn’t take a genius to figure out who it was; you’d recognize your boyfriend’s swim trunks anywhere with the bright colors and patterns.
“Sunoo, put me down!” You whined, planting your palms flat on the small of his back to push yourself up a bit. Sunoo’s grip on your body just got tighter as you started to wiggle, hoping to get him to drop you, which failed immensely.
A loud yelp then fell from your lips as you felt his teeth in the plush of your thigh, “What the hell, Nu?” You pouted as your hand moved to rub the spot that he had just bit, feeling the skin already rising due to irritation.
“Stop moving so much,” he grumbled, causing you to scoff. That’s when you noticed how close the two of you were to the ocean.
Your eyes then widened as you figured out what your boyfriend’s course of action was.
“Sunoo, I swear to god, if you throw me in that water.” Your voice shook already knowing that the water was going to be frigid and you weren’t prepared for it. However, Sunoo didn’t seem to care as he continued to walk towards the water, letting the waves wash over his feet. “Sunoo.” Your tone held a warning, but he didn’t seem to care.
Next thing you knew, your whole body was submerged in the salty water, the temperature sending goosebumps rising all over your skin. Emerging from the surface, you let out a gasp, hands held out to your sides like a penguin. Blinking a few times to clear the water droplets from your lashes, you looked at your boyfriend in astonishment. The boys around the two of you started laughing hysterically causing you to glare at the blonde male that stood in front of you.
“Oh, you’re dead.” You hissed before making a beeline for your boyfriend, who smirked before taking off; however, as it would seem, luck was on your side for once, and you managed to catch up to him. Your body collides with his, sending both of you into the water.
Coming back out of the water, you couldn’t help but laugh at how Sunoo’s hair was sticking to his forehead. He looked at you with a look that just asked ‘are you serious?’ and you couldn’t help but shrug.
“Do give what you can’t take.” You gave him a smile that was full of sas, and he rolled his eyes before trudging towards you.
You watched him warily, ready to take off if he showed any sign of trying to dunk you once more. However, once he got close enough, he grabbed your wrist and pulled your body close to his. The force of his pull caused you to fly into his chest with a yelp.
His hands wrap around your waist, his finger digging into your skin slightly to keep you in place. Moving back just a bit, you moved to wrap your arms around his neck, looking up at him with a cocky smirk. Raising an eyebrow, he leaned down, pressing a soft kiss on your cheek before moving towards your ear.
“Watch the attitude, sweetheart,” His tone didn’t match the kiss he had just placed on your skin. It held a warning in it, and you had to resist the urge to press his buttons, knowing that he wouldn’t hesitate to drag you off to the nearest secluded area and fuck you stupid.
“Get a room!” Heeseung shouted at the two of you as he tossed the ball back to Jake, who caught it with ease before looking over at you and Sunoo.
Sunoo pulled away from you with a smirk, a daring gleam in his eyes, before turning his head to look over at his friends. He shouted something about them minding their own business before turning back towards you with a smile.
“Thank you for today, love,” He whispered before leaning down to connect his lips with yours in a sweet, gentle kiss. One of his hands moved from your waist to cup your face, tilting your jaw just enough for him to deepen the kiss.
You tightened your hold around his neck, closing the space between your bodies. His fingers that were holding your waist slipped under the hem of your bikini bottoms, squeezing your ass just enough to elicit a small gasp from your kiss-swollen lips.
Separating, you sent him a cheeky smile before standing on your tiptoes to kiss the corner of his lips. Then, whispering something, his hold on your body tightened even more.
“I still have one more gift for you, but you’ll have to wait until we get home.” You pressed another kiss to his cheek as you pulled away before slipping out of his hold.
He watched you with a heated gaze as you sauntered over to Heeseung and Jake, who were setting up the volleyball next. Jake threw the ball to you as Jay walked over to join in while Jungwon and Riki took shelter under the umbrella, watching.
Sunoo inhaled deeply before fixing his trunks to try and hide the hard-on he had gained before walking over to join the rest of you, counting down the seconds until it was time for the two of you to leave.
Then, when the two of you actually got home, Sunoo couldn’t keep his hands to himself. Grabbing and groping any skin that he could get his fingers on, turning you into a flustered mess.
Even now, as he pressed against the closed door of your shared apartment, lips latched onto the skin of your neck, nipping and sucking deep purple and red marks along your jugular. It took everything in you to not just give in to him and throw your plan out the window, but you weren’t about to let your gift go to waste.
“Sun-” You were cut off by a moan as his hand grabbed your boob, squeezing harshly. All of the air was stolen from your lungs when he pushed your legs apart with his foot before pressing his knee between your legs, right on your core.
“I want you so bad, princess,” He groaned against your skin as he pulled your hips flush against his thigh.
“Sunoo, wait.” You groaned as you felt yourself getting wetter and wetter the longer he rocked your hips against his thigh. Hand tugging at his shirt as your head fell back, a shiver running down your spine. “Please, Sun.” Whines continued to fall from your lips until you were finally able to pull him off.
Your breath hitched in your throat as you met his hooded gaze, his lips swollen and slick with a mixture of yours and his saliva. His breathing was ragged, and his grip on your hips tight, fighting the urge to dive right back into your sweet neck.
“I have…” You took a deep breath, trying to regulate your breathing. "I have something for you, so let’s go to the room.” Tugging on his shirt, you hoped that he would get the hint, and thankfully, he did.
Sunoo released his grip on your body with a huff, allowing you to grab his hand and drag him off to your shared bedroom. Walking into the room, Sunoo kicked the door close before making a grab for your hips once more, but you just knocked his hands away, resulting in a hard glare from the blonde male.
“Be patient, Sun. Now…” You pulled him towards the bed before pushing him to sit down. He complied, watching you as you stood in front of him. " Sit here and wait.”
Sunoo did not like those words one bit, but if his sweet girlfriend asked him to wait, then wait is what he would do. His eyes, however, never left your form as you walked into the closet before exiting a few moments later with a small bag in your hands. He had expected you to bring it to him to open, but instead, you walked into the bathroom and shut the door.
Furrowing his brows he started to wonder what the hell you were up to, wanting nothing more than to get up and go investigate. He fought the urge, though, his tongue poking the inside of his cheek.
Not too long after, the bathroom door opened, catching the blonde’s attention; however, his eyes damn near rolled back at the sight of you standing there in nothing but a white lace lingerie set. The color complimented your skin tone almost perfectly, and the lace left little to the imagination, only leaving Sunoo sitting there, growing harder and harder by the second.
“Fuck sweets,” He groaned as you made your way towards him, steps almost hesitant as you grew closer.
“You like it?” You asked timidly as you stood in front of his sitting form, fingers playing with the tied ribbon that was on the front of your bra.
“Like it?” He scoffed, hands reaching for you, and in the blink of an eye, he had your back pressed against the mattress, his body caging yours underneath him. “I fucking love it,” He growled as his eyes bore into you, his fingers skimming your side lightly, leaving goosebumps in his wake.
He didn’t waste another minute before capturing your lips in a heated, hungry kiss, stealing all of the air out of your lungs. His knee finds your thinly covered core once more, adding pressure and causing you to gasp. Sunoo took the chance to slip his tongue into your mouth, turning the kiss into a sloppy mess of spit and drool.
“Sun-” You choked out a moan as he bit down on your collarbone, one hand on your hip while the other was by your head, keeping himself up. Your fingers run through his hair as you shiver in his hold.
“If I wasn’t so desperate to get in this pretty pussy of yours, I would take my time devouring you whole.” He groaned against your skin as he moved his knee to press his erection against you, causing a whine to fall from your lips.
Your whole body felt like it was on fire as he continued to nip and lick at your skin, leaving behind marks of all shades. Fingers tugging and pulling at the fabric of your panties until they were completely off of your body.
“F-fuck,” A loud moan fell from your lips as he ran his fingers through your fold, your juices coating his digits.
“God, you’re already so wet,” He groaned, fighting the urge to shove his face behind your legs and eat you until you were screaming his name. There was no way he’d be able to last, not right now.
You let out a cry of protest when he moved away from your body, leaving the cool air to chill your skin. Sunoo, however, didn’t leave you for too long. He pulled his shirt off, followed by his trunks, tossing all of the garments to the side. His hands then found your body once more, grabbing the backs of your knees and pressing them down until they were almost touching your chest.
No words were spoken between the both of you as he positioned himself at your entrance before pushing in slowly, relishing in the feeling of your tight walls squeezing him. Your head fell back as he stretched you open; the burn made your brain fuzzy.
Once he was fully encased in your heat, he stopped all of his movements to give you some time to adjust, his eyes never leaving your face because no matter how much he wanted to completely ruin you, your comfort always came first.
“Eyes on me pretty.” He coaxed you to open your eyes that had closed, tears built up along your waterline as you looked up at him. Watching as he pressed light kisses along your calf and ankle until you gave him the go-ahead to move.
“Shit!” You cursed, hands finding his forearm as he started to snap his hips into yours at a rough pace, nearly leaving you lying there completely breathless. Your eyes rolled when the head of his cock found your sweet spot.
“Such a good girl, taking me so well.” He cooed, grip tightening on your legs as his pace picked up. “You just wanted to make me feel good, isn’t that right, princess?” His voice was teasing as he continued to fuck into your wet heat, the wet sounds bouncing off of the walls.
You nodded your head like a broken bobblehead, words falling away from your tongue as he hit your cervix with each thrust. Choked moans and cries of Sunoo’s name fell from your lips with each thrust.
“Hmm, am I fucking my pretty girl too good that she can’t even talk?” He chuckled, pressing your legs further down, nearly folding your body in half. The tears that had been sitting on your waterline broke free, falling from the corner of your eyes as your nails dug into the skin of Sunoo’s forearm, but he didn’t care. He was far too focused on every twist of pleasure that formed on your face.
White spots started to cloud your vision as you felt that little knot in your gut tighten, your jaw falling slack. Sunoo didn’t need to hear you say it to know that you were close; your body did all of the talking for you. The way you were squeezing him like you wanted him to stay inside your velvet walls pulled a groan from his throat as he continued to fuck into you at a relentless pace, watching your eyes roll back and your body tense.
“Sunoo! Fuck!” You cried out as your orgasm washed over your body, your vision blacking out for a moment and your legs shaking in Sunoo’s hands.
“Oh fuck pretty…” He groaned as he watched the white ring form around the base of his cock, the sight causing his dick to twitch. “Shit… I’m close, princess,”
You let out a gasp as he roughly fucked into your sensitive cunt; every brush of his dick along your walls sent shock waves throughout your body. Letting out a choked moan, you built up enough will to let the words you wanted to say fall from your lips.
“I-Inside, please.” You whined, and Sunoo felt like he would have cum right then and there if he hadn’t caught himself. Any other time the both of you fucked, he always pulled out and came on your tummy or back, depending on which position he had you at the time, but to hear to beg him to cum inside. He could have sworn he died and went to heaven.
“Stay that again,” He groaned, his thrust growing sloppy as his orgasm was on the tip of his tongue.
You choked out a moan of his name as he bent forward, pressing more into you. His lips find yours in a sloppy kiss, teeth clashing and drool coating both of your mouths.
“Cum in me, Sun… please.” You breathed out before your eyes rolled back when he hit your cervix once more.
“You want me to breed this pussy? Is that it, princess?” He chuckled but was cut off by a groan as you squeezed around him, “f-fuck.” Sunoo’s bottom lip got caught in between his teeth as he felt his orgasm hit, “your wish is my command.” His head fell in the crook of your neck as his hips rocked against yours, riding out his high and pushing his cum back into your dripping pussy.
Both of you lay there for a few moments, Sunoo releasing your legs before helping you wrap them around his waist in a more comfortable position. His lips pressed soft kisses on your neck and chest before he leaned up to look you in the eye.
“Thank you, baby. This is the best birthday present by far.” He smiled sweetly before leaning forward to kiss you sweetly, your shaky hand cupping his face. Detaching from your lips, he started peppering kisses all over your face, causing you to burst out in a fit of giggles.
Sunoo couldn’t have asked for a better birthday than the one he had gotten today, and he hoped that all his future birthdays would end the same way. You trapped underneath him, and him buried deep in your pussy walls.

anatomy of a breakup.
kuroo tetsurou x reader. angst, exes post-breakup, oneshot crossposted on ao3 as higashikatas.
you don’t get it.
it keeps you up at night, it takes your mind away from schoolwork, it makes you replay every single moment of the last year and a half and all the years of friendship before, and you still don’t get it.
you’ve pulled apart every interaction both by yourself and with yaku, who has been nothing if not kind and patient and supportive and so simply unlike himself… and so like himself at the same time because yaku morisuke is nothing if not the best friend you will ever have. far too many evenings have been spent starfished on his too-big bed with his beloved weighted penguin plush on top of you, while the guy himself paces around alternating between sitting beside you or at his tiny desk-chair. he’d never been good at sitting still, less so when the topic of conversation upset him just as deeply as it did you.
you wish feelings made sense. even the mere thought brought a fresh wave of pain, because it had never been you who had wanted the logical side of things. it has always been him, while you had laughed and patted his elbow placatingly. you wish a lot of things made sense, actually, but they didn’t and there was also nothing you could do about any of them. so you wallow in your heartbreak and let the voice at the back of your mind call you pathetic until it goes hoarse.
there’s no space for recovery. you’re in close proximity to tetsurou at almost all times- if not physically, then in the framed photograph on your nightstand you can’t bring yourself to throw away, or in the matching phone wallpapers that all the volleyball team bar two (yaku, out of consideration for you, and kenma out of sheer stubbornness) have, or in the group chat that still floods your phone every night. in kenma’s not-so-secret private instagram, in kai’s shared google photo album, in lev’s clumsy little wannabe vlogs, in yaku pretending he isn’t in the same room as you when tetsurou calls. most of all, he’s in your own head- you hold so many memories of him you might just burst.
you wish the world would stop. stop reminding you of him, stop existing with him in it, stop existing with the both of you in it- anything would be preferable. but the earth refuses to stop spinning because you’re sad, and you wish that the earth didn’t have quite so much of kuroo tetsurou in it.
(funnily enough, that isn’t the only impossible thing you wish for.)
the earth will not stop spinning, and your friends will not let you stay rooted in the muck of feelings he left you in. you continue to eat lunch with the second-years (on all five days of the week instead of just two now), you continue to walk the first-years home when they stay back late for practice (you do it alone now), you continue to poke fun at taketora and lev over the post-game bowls of ramen and you continue to treat inuoka like your long-lost son. you continue to crack a smile at fukunaga's puns and you continue to beg kai for homework answers over text mere hours before the deadlines. you continue to smile at tetsurou in greeting, continue to stay back when he asks you to discuss their prospects at nationals with coach nekomata, continue to offer to clean up the gyms every other day so he can head home to take care of his grandmother. the heavy knot of heartbreak still hangs like dead weight inside your rib cage, but as long as you continue complaining about kenma’s god awful sleep schedule and continue nodding energetically at snippets of songs that play when yaku slips you his earbuds, you can gloss over the way tetsurou hurt you.
you get used to the weight with time. it doesn’t fade, but your friends seem to notice a difference even though they say nothing about it. kenma stops hiding his instagram stories from you when he posts another tetsurou grandpa moment. yaku stops sending you cautious glances during practices. taketora finally stops treating you like you’re about to break and starts clamouring for you to join the team bonding sessions once again.
you aren’t fooled, though. your pain isn’t the kind of scar that heals up cleanly and quickly. you’re fighting to pretend you’re fine, existing this close to kuroo tetsurou and ignoring every instinct that screams at you to quit your post as nekoma’s volleyball manager and beg your parents to let you transfer to itachiyama.
the only thing that makes it hard to stick to the track, unsurprisingly, tetsurou is himself.
he isn’t even trying. he’s normal again, and you know him well enough to tell that he (unlike you) is not faking a thing. there’s no internal conflict behind the large honest eyes every time he nods at you in greeting, no hesitation or pain echoing across his mind when he casually throws himself onto the couch between you and kenma on movie night and slings an arm across the back of the sofa inches from your head and shoulders.
that , at least, makes sense, you think to yourself, walking home alone after a night out at the arcade with the team. he was the one who broke up with you so why should he feel any of the pain? why should he feel the ghosts of your touch on the sides of his face and the insides of his wrists every time he absentmindedly brushes against you in a crowded hallway? why should he lie awake at night trying not to think about the feeling of your arms curled around his waist when you used to nap together during free periods?
he has no reason to agonize over something he chose to end, you know. rationalizing it doesn’t make it better.
the messy cannonball of emotions tucked neatly between your ribcage’s left walls wouldn’t hurt half as bad if it was another thing you shared with tetsurou, you think bitterly, wrapping your scarf tighter around your face. but life is unfair and this is the one thing you don’t share. you’re unbalanced. kuroo is fine and you are not.
you skip the next team outing. you sit in your bathtub, lukewarm water up to your shoulders with your head pressed against your arms, and you don't get it.

⤷ hold me, console me ┈ hk.
sypnosis. after watching a particularly terrifying horror movie, you found yourself unable to keep still, your mind still plagued with images and scenes you saw from the film. as your eyes wandered around the room frantically, they soon fell on your roommate’s door.
pairings and tags. roommate!hueningkai x reader (f/m) . fluff . emotional hurt/comfort . cuddling . friends to lovers kinda . mentions of kai’s actual owned plushies !! overall just rly rly soft kai
word count. 3.8k
short note … hmm, the title seems a little familiar, doesn’t it? anyw!! this may or may not be based on a recent experience ^_^ genuinely might be my fav fic ever written tbh ,, ilysm my angel huening kamal kai
you loved horror movies with a passion that bordered on obsession. it didn’t matter how many of these movies you had seen; the thrill and adrenaline they gave you was unparalleled.
the artistry of it all drew you in—the haunting cinematography, the deliberate pacing, the chilling music that seemed to seep into your bones. sure, there were moments when you found yourself peeking through your fingers or clutching a pillow, but that only made the experience better.
you embraced those feelings because they were part of the magic. horror movies felt like a safe way to flirt with danger, to step into the unknown without actually leaving the security of your couch.
“another horror, i presume?”
a soft voice pulls you out of your reverie. you glanced up to see kai, your roommate, standing in the hallway, a soft smile playing on his lips. his hair was slightly tousled, as though he had just woken up from a nap, and he was clutching a plush penguin in one hand.
kai was the antithesis of horror—bright, warm, and endlessly kind. he moved through life with an effortless charm, his laughter a melody that seemed to lighten every room he entered.
he wasn’t overly loud or boisterous, but he had this quiet energy that drew people in. he loved collecting plushies, each one with its own story and personality, and he treated them like tiny treasures. you often found yourself smiling at the sight of him rearranging them on his bed, humming softly to himself.
but despite his sweet demeanor, kai was far from a pushover. there was a quiet strength to him that you deeply admired. he didn’t flinch at scary movies or spooky stories, and he was the first to step up if something needed fixing or if one of you heard a strange sound at night. he made you feel safe, in a way that went beyond locked doors and sturdy walls.
you absolutely adored him in ways you couldn’t quite put into words. it wasn’t just the way he was always quick with a kind word or how he’d casually offer you the last slice of pizza without a second thought, it was the way he existed—soft but strong, gentle but brave. it was hard not to be drawn to someone like him.
“you know me too well,” you finally replied with a grin.
kai chuckles softly before disappearing back into his room, leaving the faint scent of vanilla lingering in the air.
with a contented sigh, you clutched your knees to your chest as you turned back to your laptop and pressed play. as the opening credits rolled, you felt a familiar rush of excitement ripple through you, your heart beating just a little faster in anticipation.
the atmosphere of the film immediately drew you in—the dark, foreboding forest shrouded in mist, the mournful notes of a piano score echoing in the background, and the slow, deliberate introduction of characters who seemed destined for doom.
you leaned forward slightly, your fingers gripping the edge of the blanket draped over your figure. this was your comfort zone, your escape. the thrill of stepping into a world of danger while knowing you were safe was intoxicating.
the suspense was masterfully crafted. you admired the subtle flickers of movement in the background, the artful way the camera lingered just a second too long on empty doorways, making you question if they were really empty at all. the protagonist wandered deeper into the story’s mystery, and so did you, captivated by every deliberate frame.
but as the film unfolded, your excitement began to shift.
the unease started as a mere whisper in the back of your mind, something you could easily ignore in favor of marveling at the film’s artistry. the score grew darker, more discordant, and you noticed how the shadows in the film seemed to stretch unnaturally, swallowing the light in ways that made your skin prickle.
the first scare wasn’t particularly loud or dramatic, but it was enough to make your stomach flip. a shadow moved where it shouldn’t have, and for a split second, your body tensed involuntarily.
you let out a shaky breath and laughed it off. “they got me,” you muttered to yourself, trying to recapture the excitement you’d felt only moments ago. but that small jolt lingered, burrowing itself in the corners of your mind.
as the movie progressed even more, the tension became harder to shake. the pacing was slow, deliberate, each scene ratcheting up the dread inch by inch. you shifted in your seat, trying to remind yourself that it was just a movie; a movie from your most adored genre no less.
and then it happened.
a sudden, jarring jumpscare tore through the scene, shattering the carefully built silence. you flinched hard, your heart slamming against your ribs. you tried to laugh it off again, but it sounded weak, hollow.
from that point, the film seemed to unravel you piece by piece. the tension coiled tighter with every passing minute, and the excitement that once filled you was now replaced by a growing sense of dread.
your hands grew clammy, and your chest felt heavy, like something was sitting on it. a particularly gruesome moment flashed across the screen, and you recoiled, covering your mouth as your stomach twisted.
you tried to push through, telling yourself that you’d watched scarier movies before. but your body and your mind betrayed you, trembling with every noise, every shadow, every flicker of movement on the screen. by the time the film reached its most intense scene, you knew to yourself that you couldn’t take it anymore.
you slammed the laptop shut with trembling hands, as though cutting off the screen would sever the fear that had taken hold of you, but it didn’t. the silence that followed was deafening, pressing down on you with an unbearable weight.
the shadows in the room, once comforting and familiar, now seemed alive, shifting and stretching in the dim light. you couldn’t shake the feeling that something—someone—was watching you, hidden just beyond your line of sight. the thrill you once loved had morphed into something overwhelming, suffocating.
the pounding of your heart was relentless, thundering in your ears so loudly that it drowned out every other sound. you clutched your knees to your chest, your body trembling uncontrollably. the chill in the air seeped into your skin, but you couldn’t tell if it was from the air conditioning or the icy grip of your own fear.
you gaze darted around the room, your eyes flickering to every shadow, every corner, every object that might shift unexpectedly. your chest felt tight, each breath shallower than the last, as though the walls themselves were closing in on you.
but as your eyes wandered around frantically, they soon fell on kai’s door.
thr faint line of warm light spilling from beneath felt like a beacon of hope, a reminder that you weren’t alone. the thought of kai—his soft smile, his gentle voice—calmed the panic just enough for you to move.
you swallowed hard, your throat dry, and you finally pushed yourself to your feet. your legs wobbled beneath you, the lingering terror making every step toward his door feel heavier than the last.
now standing in front of his door, you hesitated for a moment, your trembling fist hovering just inches from its surface. wasn’t it silly to bother him over something as trivial as a scary movie? but the fear clinging to you said otherwise. taking a shaky breath, you knocked softly, the sound barely louder than a whisper.
not long after, the door creaked open, and kai appears, his soft, sleepy smile immediately easing some of the weight pressing on your chest. his presence was as warm and comforting as the light spilling from his room.
“hey,” he greeted gently, his voice still laced with drowsiness. “what’s up?”
you opened your mouth to answer, but no words came out. the fear that had driven you here suddenly felt stupid, and you hesitated once again, your eyes dropping to the floor. how could you explain that a movie—a silly horror movie—had shaken you up this badly?
kai tilted his head slightly, his expression curious but patient. then his gaze flickered to your trembling hands, and his face softened in an instant. the sleepiness in his eyes vanished, replaced by quiet concern.
“are you okay?” he asked, his voice steady but tinged with worry. he stepped forward, closer to you, gently placing a hand on your arm. “you’re shaking…”
the moment his hand touched your arm, you flinched ever so slightly, your body instinctively pulling back. kai immediately froze, his hand still hovering just above your arm, sensing the sudden tension in your body.
he then gently lowered his hand and gave you a soft, sheepish look, his expression shifting from confusion to concern.
“i’m sorry,” he said quietly, his voice gentle. “i didn’t mean to startle you...”
you shook your head quickly. “n-no, it’s not you, i…” you mumbled, your voice shaky. “i’m sorry,” you whispered, eyes avoiding his. “it’s just… the movie i was watching, um, scared me more than i anticipated, so i got a little jumpy. it wasn’t you, i promise..”
kai’s expression then softened, the understanding in his eyes replacing any trace of confusion. “don’t worry, it’s okay,” he reassures quietly.
he looked at you with such quiet understanding, as though he could see through the fear still clinging to you. with his hand now resting at his side, kai fidgeted with the edge of his hoodie nervously.
“do you… want to come in my room?” kai asked gently, his voice calm and inviting. “i can hang out with you until you feel better. no rush.”
you hesitated yet again, feeling a little embarrassed. you didn’t want to bother him, and definitely didn’t want to seem like you were overreacting. but the thought of being alone with the fear still swirling around you made it almost unbearable.
“i… i don’t want to intrude or anything,” you murmured, your voice meek.
kai smiled softly, his eyes warm and reassuring. “you’re not intruding at all. in fact, you can never ever bother me. i really want to make sure you’re okay.”
his words, gentle and kind, slowly worked through the lingering hesitation. the idea of being with him, in the safety of his presence, felt like exactly what you needed. you took a deep breath, steadying yourself, and nodded.
“okay,” you said, your voice a little more confident now. “i’ll come in.”
kai smiled wider, relief flickering across his face as he gently stepped aside, holding the door open for you. “i’m glad. you don’t have to be scared when you’re with me.”
you stepped into his room, the warmth of the space immediately soothing you. the soft, comforting presence of kai was all around, with the plushies scattered across his bed and the dim, inviting light. the tension in your shoulders started to fade, though the fear still lingered faintly, slowly melting away as he closed the door behind you and motioned for you to sit down.
“make yourself at home,” he said, his voice still gentle. “i can put on something distracting or we can just sit quietly. whatever you need.”
kai soon noticed how your body was still slightly tense, and the way your hands kept fidgeting together. he smiled softly to himself, trying to think of something that might help distract you or at least bring you some comfort.
“actually,” he began, his voice light and playful, “if you don’t mind, i’d like to introduce you to some of my plushies.”
you eyebrows furrowed slightly, but you found yourself intrigued by the idea. “plushies?” you echoed, a little confused but curious.
kai grinned, his eyes lighting up with a kind of fondness as he gestured toward his bed, where the plushies were scattered in a neat little row. “yeah, they’re kind of my thing. i’ve had some of them for years.”
he reached over and picked up a gray rabbit, its fur soft and plush under his fingers. “this one’s goguma,” he explained, holding it up for you to see. “goguma’s really special to me because my sisters have the same one, just in different colors. we all got them at the same time.” his smile softened as he looked down at the little rabbit, and you could tell it held sentimental value.
he then set goguma down and grabbed a small spider plush next, its legs scrunched in a way that made it look endearing rather than creepy. “this little guy’s been with me for about sixteen years. his name is... well, i’m not sure. i’ve just always called him ‘spider.’” he chuckles softly, his fingers brushing over its soft fabric. “he’s been through a lot, but i think that’s what makes him so special.”
next, he grabbed a brown rabbit, its floppy ears slightly askew and a cute orange bowtie around its neck. “this is shin-chan,” he continued, his tone fond and almost teasing. “i got him as a gift from one of my friends. he’s always been a bit of a troublemaker, but he’s my favorite when i need a good laugh.”
you couldn’t help but smile fondly as you watched kai handle each plushie with such care, his affection for them clear in the way he spoke. he moved on to a white rabbit holding a carrot. “this one’s tobin,” he said, sounding almost reverent. “i’m pretty sure tobin’s the quietest one of the bunch, but he’s still got a lot of personality. i guess that’s why he’s one of me and my friends’ favorites too.”
kai then reached for three variations of molang plushies, the soft, chubby bunnies in different colors looking equally adorable. “and these are… well, molang. they’re brothers.” he said, gesturing to each one. “they’re all the same, but i think that’s kind of the point. sometimes, things can be simple and still be perfect.”
finally, kai picked up the one that seemed to mean the most to him—a gray penguin plush, its round body and black eyes making it look surprisingly lifelike.
“and last but not least,” he said, cradling the penguin in his hands like it was the most precious of them all, “this is my favorite. it looks like a real penguin, doesn’t it?” he smiles softly, his expression softer now. “this one has been with me for not too long, but it resembles a real one so much, that it’s just too endearing.”
you couldn’t help but feel a little lighter at his words. the way kai had introduced each plushie with such care made it clear how much they meant to him. the thought of him sharing that with you—of letting you into a part of his world—was oddly comforting.
you smiled slightly, your voice quiet but sincere. “they’re all really adorable... you really love them all, don’t you?”
kai grinned, his eyes lighting up. “yeah, i do. i’ve had them for so long, and they’ve always been there when i needed them. and so i thought, maybe they can help you feel better, too.”
you nodded, the first real sense of ease starting to settle in. you couldn’t help but feel a little less nervous in this room, surrounded by the plushies and kai’s warm presence.
after the plushie introduction, the atmosphere felt warmer, more peaceful. you and kai sat on his bed, surrounded by the soft comforts of his plushies, their presence almost like a gentle embrace.
the conversation soon flowed easily between you two—light, easy chatter about everything and nothing. there was something so comforting about the way kai spoke, his voice low and steady as he casually asked about you, your thoughts, anything and everything that made the air between you feel safe.
you found yourself laughing quietly at little anecdotes about his past adventures with his friends and other plushies, and it helped ease the last of the tension that had been knotted in your chest.
as time passed, the conversation quieted, the two of you slowly sinking into a peaceful, comfortable silence. you found yourself stretched out on the bed, the soft cushions of his blankets wrapping around you like a warm cocoon. you were so comfortable, so content, that you didn’t realize how your eyes grew heavier with each passing moment, the weight of sleep slowly pulling you under.
a yawn escaped your lips, and you rubbed your eyes, feeling the exhaustion of the evening finally catch up to you. kai shifted beside you, his own eyes beginning to droop.
“are you… tired?” kai asked, his voice gentle, though you could hear the concern present. "do you want to sleep?"
you hesitated for a moment, blinking a few times, but the thought of retreating back to your own room felt terrifying—so far away from the warmth and safety of kai’s presence. the fear that had consumed you earlier was still there, buried in the corners of your mind. you swallowed hard, your cheeks flushing slightly.
“i… i think so,” you said softly, your voice barely above a whisper. “but… i really don’t want to go back to my room…”
kai glanced at you, his eyes flickering with a mix of concern and something else. he seemed to hesitate, the quiet room growing thicker with the uncertainty in the air. finally, after a long pause, he mustered up the courage to speak again.
“do you maybe want to… stay here? in my bed? just for the night?” he asks, his voice quiet but sincere, as if he were offering you a lifeline. “it might help… with the, uh… the fear.”
you blinked, caught off guard by his sudden suggestion, your heart skipping more than a few beats. it was such a simple offer, yet it meant so much at that moment.
“okay… i’ll stay,” you agreed, a soft blush creeping up your neck.
kai nods as he sat up and prepared to leave, but before he could go to sleep elsewhere, you impulsively reached out and grabbed his sleeve, your fingers trembling slightly.
“wait, um, could you… stay with me?” you asked, the words almost a whisper as you looked up at him with a sheepish, almost pleading expression. "i… i don’t want to be alone."
kai’s face flushed a little, and for a brief moment, he looked taken aback, his eyes wide. but then his expression softened, and he gave a small, almost nervous smile. "of course, i can stay,” he replied, a warmth in his voice that made your heart flutter.
you both settled back into the bed, the blankets shifting as you made yourselves comfortable. kai even handed you his favorite plush—the one that resembled a real penguin—with a soft smile, silently asking you to use it as a hugging pillow.
you held it close, feeling its comforting weight, even noting to yourself just how much it smelled like him, but it wasn’t enough to fully ease the nervousness that lingered in your chest.
there was still something missing, and you could feel it, deep down. the need for comfort, for something more. the need of an embrace directly from him.
you hesitated for a moment, your breath shaky, but then you quietly asked, "kai... could we... um… cuddle? just for tonight?"
the words left your lips before you could second-guess them, and as soon as they did, both your cheeks burned with a sudden, sharp heat. you barely noticed the way kai’s face flush as well until you saw his eyes widen in surprise.
he froze for a moment, his gaze flicking away as if he were processing what you had just asked. his mouth opened, but nothing came out at first—just a brief moment of silence before he stuttered over his words.
“c-cuddle?” kai repeated, his voice rising higher than usual, a nervous laugh barely escaping him. he shifted slightly, his fingers twitching at his sides like he didn’t quite know where to place them.
“i… i mean, yeah, sure,” he stammered, his voice softer, more tentative now. “if you want to…” he trailed off, still unsure, his gaze not quite meeting yours as he tried to navigate the unexpected situation. it was clear that he was more than a little embarrassed by your sudden request, though he wasn’t upset about it.
kai shifted again, his posture stiff and uncertain, but even so, his expression softened. it was clear he wanted to make you feel comfortable, but the shy blush on his face and the slight tremor in his figure made it obvious that he wasn’t entirely sure how to respond.
he finally let out a quiet breath, trying to steady himself, but his hands lingered uncertainly, as though asking for permission to get closer. it was a delicate moment, full of mutual vulnerability.
but before you knew it, kai’s arms gently wrapped around you, and the instant he pulled you close, your heart thumped wildly against your chest. but then, that initial rush of nervous energy slowly gave way to something entirely different—something warm, something comforting.
his embrace, though tentative at first, quickly became steady and reassuring as he held you just a little tighter. as you nestled into his arms, the tightness in your chest eased, the weight of the world on your shoulders lifting.
the fear that had plagued you only moments ago, the horror from the movie that still lingered in the back of your mind, slowly but surely started to fade into nothing. kai’s presence and hold was like a shield, blocking out everything but the warmth of his body, the steady rise and fall of his chest beneath your ear.
your thoughts began to scatter, the pieces of worry and unease breaking apart like mist in the sunlight. you felt a contented, almost dizzying sense of relaxation flooding your entire being. it was as if his arms was the only place you could be; the only place you needed to be.
kai, too, began to relax, his grip soft but firm, his body settling into a natural rhythm as he held you close. there was an unspoken sense of understanding between you, a calm that you couldn’t quite describe but felt with every inch of your being.
your body, once tense with worry, melted into the warmth of him, each breath you took slower, deeper, as you felt yourself surrendering to the comfort he offered.
and in the quiet, soft warmth of kai’s embrace, paired with the softness and tenderness of the plushies that surrounded you both, you finally found peace.

rollercoaster of emotions
sungchan just wanted to go to the amusement park with his two friends, unforunately for him, those two friends are absolutely smitten for each other
Genre: wonbin x Gn!reader. fluff humour. Warnings: mention of piss/pee, sungchan third wheeling. Rollercoasters, swearing (I think), I wrote this in three in the morning 😭 wc: 1.5k
A/n: I won’t be posting anything until probably next year since my last exam is the fourth and I should probably have been studying instead of writing this lol
“Wow I swear this is the most fun I’ve ever had at the park before.” You state as the game worker hands Wonbin the big penguin plush he had won for you.
“Yeah that’s because it’s your first time at the park for fun, and not to be working.” Sungchan replies, tired of all the complaining you do as a worker at the park.
“And you’re not spending half your wallet on stupid plushies.” Wonbin grumbles. “You’re the one with the job, why did I have to pay for your game, just for you to continuously lose.”
He crosses his arms around the toy not letting you have it. “I had to win for you or you would milk out every penny from my pocket.”
You couldn’t help but giggle at your friend in front of you as he frowns with a pouty face and turns the other way pretending to act upset, at least you think he was pretending.
“Bini, I was the reason you got in the park for free because I work here, the least you could do is let me hold my child.” referring to the penguin in his arms, but he still refuses to acknowledge you.
“Fine, let’s go get those animal ear things. I’ll pay for all three of us to make up for it.” You attempt to grab his hands, but really so you can get the toy from him. Wonbin knew what you were trying to do and wasn’t going to just let it happen after he watched you empty out his wallet and repeatedly fail, probably the simplest rigged game at the park.
Causing the two of you to wrestle for the big plushie. Sungchan has to awkwardly stand there as two of his friends who are so obviously smitten for each other fight over a toy like children.
The two of you almost trip when Sungchan barges between you two and captures the fake animal for himself. “Hmm, what to name you? Mr. Peepee pants?”
“What no that’s so stupid-”
“I love it.” You unintentionally speak up as Wonbin was talking.
“Yeah great name.” Wonbin wholeheartedly agrees. Sungchan watches as his friend helplessly simps over you as you start contemplating whether the first name should be ‘Uranus’ or ‘Neon’.
“You know what I think,” Wonbin starts and you give your undivided attention to him. Sungchan knows that you only do that for Wonbin, whether it’s intentional or not, he can see, everyone can see how you are with him. Maybe except you two. Somehow both blind to the other’s admiration.
“I think we should get those animal ear bands, antlers would look great on Sungchan hyung.”
“Yn, it’s not that serious.” Sungchan whines as you take forever in choosing which animal headband would look best on Wonbin.
There weren't any antlers thankfully for Sungchan, so the bear ones were a good second choice. Sungchan had mentioned how’d you look good with the frog eyes one, knowing fully well that Wonbin thinks you look the best in green.
No doubt about it, Wonbin literally said that in his sleep one time.
Wonbin was just staring at you going back and forth between a bunch of different animal bands, both of you too absorbed at what you were doing, not noticing the employees getting annoyed on how much time it is to take to choose a hair accessory.
“I think I got it.” You walk back to the two, biting back a smile holding the band behind you.
“What is it?” Wonbin asks.
“Close your eyes.”
The boy in front of you rolls his eyes but obeys your demand.
You gently place the band on his head with a stupid smile on your face as you admire your best friend, all sungchan can do is groan at the interaction.
You tell him to look and he opens his eyes to see you smiling down at him with a cheeky smile on your face. He thinks you look pretty.
Maybe bro was thinking out loud because you seem kinda startled and confused saying, “Yes you do look pretty, but you didn’t even get to see it yet.” Awkwardly scratching the back of your head.
Wonbin clears his throat with the back of his hand, “Yeah, but I m-meant it like a question. Is it pretty?” Heat rushing through his face as he tries to cover for himself.
“Yeah, pretty. You’re always pretty.”
Sungchan is just standing there watching his two friends awkwardly throwing glances at each other and turning their faces away as if they aren’t right in front of each other in the middle of the store. It’s taking every ounce of his to simply not drive off a cliff.
The awkwardness between the two of you passes when sungchan starts pestering them to go on a ride with him.
It’s kind of always like that with you two, teasing and joking until someone compliments the other on a thing and both the receiver and the one who complimented get flustered over it.
“Isn’t that like the fastest ride in the park?” A terrified Wonbin asks.
“I think I read somewhere that it’s all of Korea.” You mention.
Sungchan knows that everything remotely scary is absolutely frightening to the younger boy and you’re quite the opposite. You have the most irrational fear of pumpkins. Not Jacko lanterns, just pumpkins, claiming they are frightening to simply look at and that you will simply start screaming when in the presence of one.
“Wonbin you don’t have to if you don’t want to, I can just go with yn-”
“No I’ll go. I love rides.” He attempts to say as convincingly as possible.
Which confuses both you and sungchan. “Bini, since when did you like rides? You can barely handle the pirate ship ones.”
“u-uh, it’s I- that ride you guys want to go on, I used to go on it as a kid, it’s just been a while.”
Frowning, not convinced, “Are you sure? You know we don’t have to go if you don’t want-”
He grabs your arm, cutting you off, walking in the direction of the ride. “No, I’m sure.”
Waiting in line wonbin would not let go of your hand, instead of being worried that maybe he was frightened about the whole ride thing, or that people around you might think you two are those annoying couples in amusement park rides who can’t keep their hands off of each other.
You were really distracted at the fact you felt like you were losing circulation in your hand and everytime sungchan said some fact about the ride his grip would just get tighter and tighter, making you want to squeeze sungchan’s neck hard everytime he opens his mouth.
Finally when it was your guys’ turn Wonbin lets go of your hand so he can put your guys’ bags in the boxes. Only for you to realize that you guys were at the end and the cut off was before sungchan, as he was behind the both of you.
Before you could mention it and say that you didn’t mind waiting for the next round. Sungchan had pushed you and when you turned to him he just gave you a quick wink and started making kissy faces.
Rolling your eyes at him, you kind of figured that sungchan knew you might’ve liked your friend without you ever telling him so.
Getting into the seat next to wonbin at the back since they were the only seat available, the minute you touch the seat, wonbin’s hand is on yours all over again. This time it was shaking completely.
“Wonbin, are you sure you want to do this? Sure you went as a kid, but most kids don’t understand the concept of danger and you're shaking badly.”
You stare at him as his eyes are closed, taking in deep breaths slowly. Watching as they start to speed up once the ride starts moving. The best thing you could do is hold his hand in yours.
As the ride starts pulling upwards he speaks up, “You know I never understood as a kid people liked going on scary things like these.”
“Huh? Didn’t you go on this one though?”
“No, I lied.” His voice became eight octaves higher.
“What? Wonbin why?”
“Because I wanted to go with you, I wanted to be with you-” his voice ends his sentence with a shriek when the ride stops at the edge of the highest concave.
His hand was not squeezing badly onto yours and as the ride went down you couldn’t really be scared anymore.
Sungchan got off of his ride with the wind completely messing up his hair and a jump in his step. Walking to the exit, he sees his two friends waiting for him. He sees the two of you still holding hands from before and wonbin’s face hiding in your neck still probably shaken up from the ride.
Now he’s wondering which highway to sleep on tonight.

★ 彡 pervy bsf kai! [drabble] ꒰ᐢ. .ᐢ꒱₊˚⊹

. . . WORDS ! ~700
. . . NSFW, MDNI ! perv!kai, panty stealing, panty sniffing, masturbation (m. rec), plushie humping, panty kink, pocket pussies, kai turns a plushie into a fleshlight basically, this is gross, mommy kink at the end, thoughts about getting caught
THIS IS A REPOST!! this is quite possibly the nastiest piece of fiction i've ever written in my life. im obsessed with it.
kai has a secret: he’s in love with his best friend.
well, if he was being honest, it was much more than love. It was an obsession. an obsession that’s only seeming to get worse and worse.
“kai, what’s the matter?” you asked innocently, bustling around in the kitchen making breakfast. “you look like you’ve seen a ghost!”
“i- um—“ it might as well had been a ghost with how you were haunting him, dressed in nothing but fuzzy socks and an oversized hoodie, panties peeking out from under the hem. he was so enamored by the globes of your ass that the had forgotten that he wasn’t supposed to be staring. “nothing. don’t worry about it.”
his voice wavered a little, and you shot him a funny look. kai really hoped his cheeks weren’t as red as they felt.
Did you know what you did to him, dressing like that all of the time? Showing off your curves, pretty ass, pretty tits, pretty tummy.. You had to, there was no way it wasn’t on purpose— it felt like multiple times a day now he was hiding the bulge in his pants with a pillow or a plushie, shoving his face in his switch to hide the fact that he was taking in greedy eyefuls of your body. He could hardly take it anymore, needed you so bad he felt like he was going to explode!
and then, it was like the gods had listened to his prayers, because later that day while he was looking for his favorite hoodie, something peeking out of your laundry basket caught his eye.
a pair of panties. a pair of used panties.
kai stared at them for a long, long time before checking his surroundings and shoving them into his pocket.
he felt gross. he felt disgusting. like a nasty pervert with no self control… but his cock was so hard it was bordering on painful as he locked himself up in his room. fisting the panties in one hand he tore off his jeans and underwear with the other, cock bobbing out of his boxers and smacking against his belly with a lewd wet sound. kai didn’t hesitate to wrap a fist around himself.
he already felt like he was moments from cumming, just from the act alone… what would you do if you caught him? would you be disgusted, call him mean names? Kai pressed your panties up against his nose, inhaled deeply— he could still smell your cunt on the fabric, imagine so clearly your pussy in his face as you called him a nasty boy.
Kai keens high in his throat, lets go of his cock before he shoots ropes of cum all over his sheets. Instead, he reaches for his favorite toy.
It was once a stuffed penguin you had gifted him for his birthday, years ago— it was defiled beyond recognition now, plush fur sticky and stained with countless loads of kai’s seed. it was yet another disgusting secret of his, but he cherished it more than any of his other plushies, all the way down to the pocket pussy he’s shoved into a crudely cut-out hole in it’s backside.
he hates to tear the panties away from his greedy nose, but kai has a better idea— with a sick rush he pulls the panties onto the plush, awkward but positioned perfectly for his cock to rub up against the core.
kai cries out at the first grind down, the panties dampening with his precum and easing the slide— soon he’s humping the plushie with abandon, big hands holding it still as he rocks his hips wildly, pretty red cock weeping.
only after he’s shot a load over the plushie’s fur and his tummy does kai sink his cock into the pocket pussy, earlier orgasm only making him more sensitive, cute staccato cries as he bottoms out— “mommy,” he whimpers to himself, pathetic and breathy as he fucks himself dizzy. “mommy, i-i’m a bad boy—!”
oh, won’t you come and punish him? tell him how disgusting he is, let him paint the walls of your cunt white, ruin him completely? that’s what he wants more than anything~~ ♡

Tired, tired barista Law. Works in the coffee shop at the heart of campus where the line is always out the door and the drinks are so sugary it makes him physically ill to pump the syrups. He's the shift lead though so he has to pull the longest hours and cover anyone out sick.
He's just. Tired all the time. But it's fine, he just has to keep his grades up and keep his job and get into the fellowship he's after and then it'll be smooth sailing to get onto the night shift at the hospital he wants and work his way up to day shift it's fine.
Honestly the biggest problem he deals with is the store manager, Doflamingo. Once, a year ago at this point, Law had mentioned that he would have to leave his position if he managed to get the receptionist position at the university hospital. It would've given him connections.
But apparently the mere idea that Law would be willing to leave, to no longer work under Doffy, was betrayal enough. He's been... off. Ever since. At the very least, Law knows he's never getting a raise again. He'll be lucky if he's not framed for stealing from the till.
One morning, after an especially rough clopener where Law found himself cleaning literal shit off the bathroom walls multiple times, Doffy comes in to inform him that he's going to have to stay until close because he’s declaring an emergency shift lead meeting.
Law has two midterms and a lab due within forty eight hours, but he needs the money and as much as he'd like to in this moment, he can't just walk out on the job. He nods, stiffly, and goes back to creating the worst latte art of all time.
It's for a regular. He comes in almost every day, orders lattes, and then DOESN'T DRINK THEM. He insists on the drinks that are the most annoying to make (Law's good at hearts but he's started turning them into dicks out of annoyance) and then he doesn't EVEN DRINK THEM.
He just sits in one of the plush chairs in the corner until his drink is cold and then leaves, waving at Law with a big smile on his face like they're old friends.
It's weird. Law doesn't trust it.
Of course, as Bepo says, Law doesn't trust much of anyone these days.
And as Penguin says, that's probably because he hasn't slept more than 3 hours in a night in two years.
And as Shachi says, damn. That's fucked up, dude.
Finishing the latte (the art is a dick, there's no denying it), Law pushes it across the counter to the regular.
His straw hat is pushed back, giving Law a view of his wide, wide eyes and general overexcited look.
"Thanks!" he says, taking the drink and blowing on it, instantly sloshing foam over the side.
Law rolls his eyes and goes back to the ever growing line of customers.
The day doesn't pass quickly, but it ends eventually as all things must. Law is dead on his feet, sweeping the same spot of floor with stained mocha powder for almost ten minutes before Bepo, sanitizing the espresso machines, takes pity on him.
"You should go," he says. "I can finish cleaning up. Go get some real sleep."
Law rubs at his eyes. "No, it's fine," he says. "Actually, you should go. Doffy's making me stay for a shift lead meeting so I'll be here regardless."
Bepo does not look happy with that answer.
But Law's his boss, technically. Law grits his teeth and checks another closing chore off the list.
He knows Doffy's upstairs in his office, but it does slowly dawn on him that he's seen no other shift leads coming in. There's four of them, and yet...
Odd.
All he can concentrate on at this point, is that the sooner he gets done the sooner he can go home. Home. Where his bed is, and more importantly his notes for O Chem.
He shoos Bepo off home when the only thing left to do is inventory. Moving slow, he grabs the clipboard and makes his way into the walk-in, propping the door behind him.
Scones, muffins, cheesecakes... It's dark in here, and Law realizes he's left his phone on the counter. He can't tell what's blueberry and what's chocolate chip.
He's just about to turn around and grab it when the door of the walk-in slams shut.
Law freezes.
He'd propped that door open, right? It wouldn't just close like that.
The walk-in door doesn't lock, for like. Security purposes. He goes and pushes against it, only to find resistance. Not like it's latched, but like like someone's barricaded the door.
Law grits his teeth. This isn't good.
It's cold in here, he has no phone, and Bepo's already gone. If he listens, he can hear someone's footsteps, the scraping of chairs.
It feels like overreacting to yell. To react at all.
But— he's cold. he's in his uniform, and a short sleeve polo doesn't do much when one is locked in a freezer. Is this one of the shift leads playing a prank? Kid wouldn't be organized enough to try this. Apoo might...
His chattering teeth eventually win out over his pride.
"Hello?" he yells. "I'm still in here!"
There's a beat of silence, and then slow, steady footsteps.
"I know," says a voice that is distinctly Doffy's. "And you'll keep being in there, until you learn your lesson."
"What the fuck," Law spits. "What fucking lesson?"
"I saw your papers, Trafalgar," Doffy says. "I know you're applying to that summer internship program."
Law is. He doesn't have a shot in hell of getting in, doesn't have the connections. He's still applying, though. "So what?"
"You're my best shift lead," Doffy says.
"You're my best worker altogether. It would be ridiculous to abandon me now."
Law was always going to abandon him. This is a coffee shop. He's not planning on working clopeners the rest of his life. "Let me out, Doffy," he says. His nose is icy. His hands are in his armpits.
"I'll give you a night to think on it," Doflamingo says. "Maybe you'll make better decisions in the morning."
Law knows very well that he won't survive in a freezer overnight. He's not even wearing socks inside his boots, the cold is already numbing his ankles.
"Stop!" he yells as he hears Doffy's footsteps receding. "Wait! I'll-- I'll cancel the application!"
The footsteps return. Then Doflamingo laughs. "You can't fool me like that," he says, still chuckling. "I'll give you the night to REALLY reflect on it."
His footsteps recede again and Law shudders out a breath. This is bad.
He tries the door, pushing with all his strength, until his shoulder is freezing against the metal, but it doesn't budge. He tries pacing, but it's pitch dark in here. He breathes onto his hands for warmth.
He's so cold. So cold. It's been barely any time at all and he's already feeling desperate. Did Doffy lower the temperature?
He wonders if the door is barricaded well enough that he should be worried about running out of air.
Squatting down, he tries to wrap his apron around himself, but even that is already freezing. it's wet, too, from a spill he'd been cleaning up.
Law's thoughts drift against his will to home. He thinks about all he did to escape everything. How it wont have made a difference.
How he'll be found in the morning, how the newspapers will say that he is succeeded by no kin, because everyone else has been gone for two decades.
He should've quit months ago.
The thing is, is Law is so tired. He was already tired. And now he's cold, and it's dark.
And he knows he shouldn't go to sleep, but— it seems easier. It would be so much easier than having to deal with the numbness in his hands and feet, the way his eyelashes stick to his cheeks.
But he knows he shouldn't. Knows he should be doing something.
And as a last ditch effort— he knows no one can hear him. Knows Doflamingo will laugh— as a last ditch effort he screams.
He screams until his throat hurts. Screams until he's coughing from the cold.
Wordless screams that draw the last of his strength, steal his warmth.
He falls into unconsciousness as the last of his breath is ripped from his cold lungs.
Darkness is welcoming.
He floats in it. The cold is still there, but muted now.
He had been so tired. For so long.
Suddenly, Law is pulled back to consciousness, painfully, like ripping a bandaid off of a wound.
There's light in the walk-in. He feels it on his eyelids. When he cracks open his eyes, he's hit with blinding light. Is this heaven? If it is, it's pathetic.
But with the light comes a wave of warmth, not enough to help him, but enough for him to notice.
And with the warmth comes arms, strong arms, roughly hoisting him around his middle, dragging him out and onto the blessedly warm tile floor of the back room.
"Traffy?" a voice says. "Traffy! Hey!"
Someone slaps his face.
"Fuck!" Law yells, putting a hand to his cheek. He still cant really feel anything in his fingers. The blindingly bright light is clearing enough that he can see the silhouette of someone standing over him.
GOD he hopes it's not Doflamingo.
But that voice didn't SOUND like Doffy.
"Traffy! You're alive! Do you have hypno thermia?"
"Hypothermia," Law mumbles. "Who the fuck is Traffy?"
"That's what your nametag always says!"
Law's nametag says Trafalgar. He knows it.
"How-- Where's Doflamingo?"
"That tall guy who locked you in here?"
Law's vision finally comes into focus and he startles at the sight of the regular with the straw hat. "Yeah," he says. "Him."
"I dunno, I saw him leave a while ago."
Law flexes his fingers in search of warmth
"What do you mean you saw him leave? Why are you here?" Are you a part of this? he doesn't say.
Straw Hat doesn't look at all embarrassed when he says, "I was hiding in the bathroom. You guys never check it at the end of the night."
Law gapes at him. "Why?" he asks.
"I dunno, I mean most places do and I was honestly surprised you guys don't, but--"
"Not-- you do this a lot?"
Straw Hat grins. "Yeah! My roommate kicks me out whenever he wants to have sex, which is like every night at this point. So I've been sleeping here. Chairs're comfy."
Well that's. Better than it could be, honestly.
Law tries to refocus. He probably IS hypothermic. What's he supposed to do for that? Body heat?
"You said Doffy left?" he asks.
Straw Hat nods. "Yeah! A while ago! It took me a bit to get all that stuff off of the door though. Like, he's strong! He pushed a whole refrigerator in front of it!"
Dear lord, he really had been trying to kill Law.
Shit. Doffy knows where Law lives.
Law can't go home.
"Anyway, I think you're hypno thermomic," Straw Hat says. "And you probably need, like, a hot bath."
Okay Law does know that will kill someone with hypothermia. He remembers that much. "I can't go home," he says, still trying to process. "He knows where I live."
"Oh," says Straw Hat. "You can come home with me! My roommate is a cook, he'll help."
"Your roommate kicked you out to have sex," Law points out, dazedly.
Straw Hat shrugs. "This is more important," he says, and like. Well Law can't argue with that.
He tries to sit up and his limbs listen a little, but Straw Hat steadies him anyway.
"Not that I don't appreciate the help," Law says, "But I shouldn't just impose. I can-- I'll call my coworker, my phone's around here somewhere."
"Oh," says Straw Hat. "Is that it?"
He points to a spot on the floor where Law finds his phone.
Smashed.
Into several pieces.
He does NOT have the money for a new one.
"Oh my god," he whines.
"Come on," Straw Hat says. "Let's go to my place. We can build a fire!"
"Do you have a fireplace?"
"No!"
Law still can't feel his hands or feet. "Listen," he says. "Just- why do you never drink your lattes?"
Shockingly, Straw Hat looks embarrassed at this, gaze shifting nervously. "Because," he says. "They're really gross."
"Why do you get them, then?" Law demands.
"The first time I came in, I asked what to get and you said a latte because you're good at hearts!"
Christ. Law has... no memory of that.
Straw Hat crosses his arms, looking petulant. "It's not my fault they taste gross."
Law's throat is raw and he's probably got frostbite on his penis like that prince. "I'll make you something you actually like," he says. "Next time."
Straw Hat perks up. "Next time?"
"If I live through the night," Law adds. "And. Not next time here. I'm quitting this job."
Straw Hat nods. "Good. That guy was mean, I think."
Then, without informing Law of his plan, Straw Hat turns around and pulls him onto his back.
Everything in Law hurts at this, but he also doubts he could've walked wherever they're going.
Straw Hat is shorter than him, but he's jarringly strong.
"Hey," Law says. "If you murder me, I'll kill you."
He feels Straw Hat laughing through his teeth.
The actual straw hat's brim is pushed up against Law's cheek.
"Don't worry," Straw Hat says. "I want you to make me a better drink!"
He carries Law across campus to a rickety old dorm.
Law listens to him talking about all of his friends and also his favorite bugs.
He makes sure that Straw Hat does NOT draw him a hot bath or make a fire in the dorm, but he does accept skin-to-skin warmth, which does wonders. The hot tea made by his cranky roommate also helps.
Tomorrow, he's going to have to press charges, probably. And get a new phone.
Tonight, he's sharing a bed with the weirdest guy he's ever met.
Life is sort of okay.

—————————————
“Alright. We have plans.”
Spontaneity was not something I knew Auston for. So when he came through my front door with these ‘plans’, I had to refrain from looking too surprised.
“Auston, you can’t just blow through here unexpectedly, trying to take me out. I have a kid-“
“No, that’s who I’m looking for.”
My face lit up in shock and slight amusement.
“Sad is the day a woman is outshined by her son. To the man of her dreams, I have become but a mere oracle to consult.”
“Okay, Shakespeare.” Auston smiled, walking over to help me pick up Hudson’s few toys scattered across the floor.
“What are these plans?” I asked, watching him sit next to me.
“I was gonna take him to see that new kids movie.”
“Is there a reason I can’t go? I mean- I’m all for the bonding, but.. I’m a little surprised there’s no invite.”
“Well.. ya know I just thought,” Auston shrugged, “give you a night to yourself. Maybe you could call one of your friends, or- you could always go to my place and hang with Felix. Whatever you want.” I couldn’t quite tell what he was hiding, but I knew it was something. Auston didn’t like to make eye contact when he was avoiding a topic.
“You know I go stir crazy when you boys aren’t around.” I teased, gently nudging his leg with my foot.
“I promise I’ll invite you to the next movie outing.”
“Alright. He’s coming home from a friend’s house. They were working on a project.”
“What kind of project?” Auston glanced up at me before setting another toy into the tub Hudson had designated to his action figures.
“A science project. Creating your own habitat. He and his friend are doing something Arctic with penguins and polar bears.” I smiled, recalling the creativity Hudson had been blessed with. He had so many materials he wanted to use, and so many great ideas.
“He asked me if you could get him a little plush of Carlton so they could set it up in the hall by their habitat.”
“Sounds cool. I’ll definitely get one when I can.”
“By next week.” I was quick to add. “They’ll need it by Friday. That’s when the project is due.”
“I feel like two weeks is a long time for a project like that.”
“Not all kids can be as smart as the one we’ve been raising together.” I didn’t miss the way Auston’s eyes lit up. Then a sheepish smile took over his lips.
“That makes us sound like bad people.” He commented.
“But not bad parents.” I would never tell another person that my child was smarter than theirs, nor did I ever feel as such. I was aware all kids grew and learned at their own pace. But at times it was nice to admit that Hudson was such a curious and driven child, always eager to learn. It was nice to admit Auston and I were shaping a pretty successful child.
“So we’re parents now?”
“Auston, you’ve been here long enough. I’m not ignoring what’s in front of my face. You’re a father to Hudson. You know what he told me the other night?” Auston stopped what he was doing to focus on me. “He told me he wished you didn’t have to bring clothes over all the time. That you could just stay here and be with us every day.” I smiled and tossed another toy into a smaller bucket. “He also said he really loves your house. He said he loves when you have sleepovers there, because he can swim and have ice cream all day.”
“I feed him other stuff!” Auston laughed, shaking his head. “That kid. I promise I feed him other stuff.”
“I’m not too worried about it.” I admitted with a shrug, reaching for another toy. I glanced up at Auston, watched the way his eyes went blank, staring me down. I didn’t ask. Usually he spoke his mind. So I waited, going back to tossing toys in the bucket.
“Do you want me here?”
“You’ll have to explain a little.”
“If we ever move in together. Do you want me like- in this house with you, or do you want to live with me? Or we could get our own place.”
“Change is gonna be a little hard no matter what we do. But I think what’s best is searching for a new home together. Something that’s ours equally. I want a new house, with new memories. Unless that’s too expensive.”
“No, I totally understand. And nothing’s too expensive.”
“We’ll buy a place we agree on. And as much as I love the modern touch of your house, I still want something that feels like a home.”
“Whatever you and Hudson want.”
“I’ll let you have a man cave.” I teased, smiling at his quiet laugh. We had time to discuss it. We were in no rush. We had just only started talking of marriage a month ago. We actually had to get married before anything else. At least that was the next step Auston and I agreed on.
“Do you want any more kids?”
“Are you kidding?” I laughed, resting my hand on the floor to support my weight. “Every time I see you with Hudson I think I want another kid.”
“But after the change?” Auston asked.
“Yes.” I picked up the last action figure and set it in the small bucket. A small test. I knew Auston would pass it before his hand even reached into the bucket to remove the figure, tossing it into the bigger one. “I want Hudson to feel comfortable in a new place, and feel secure before we go making any additions.” I watched a brown curl fall out of place. “It’s important that he feels like your kid before we have any others. The last thing I’d want is for him to feel like you’ll love him any less.”
“I could never. He’d be my kid just as much as the others.” Auston slowly leaned back to lay on the floor. I made my way over to lay with him, resting my head on his chest.
“Others plural?”
“At least three.”
“Three between us?” I gasped.
“No! No. Like- Hudson, and then two others.”
“Why three?”
“‘Cause kids that grow up in families with just one sibling- they end up weird.”
“What?”
“My first example is Mitch.”
“Auston!” I scolded through soft laughter. He’s not weird.”
“He’s pretty weird.” Auston chuckled, warming my heart with the way his body moved beneath me. I lifted my hand to check the time on my watch. A sigh fell from my lips. We’d only just laid down, and already we had to get up.
“You wanna come stand with me on the porch? Hudson’s gonna be here soon.”
“Boy do I.” Though Auston’s words were teasing, I knew he was excited. I stood up and helped him off the ground. I walked toward the door and unlocked it while I put my slippers on. Pulling the door open, I walked out onto the porch, Auston close behind.
“What time do you think you’ll be getting back?” I asked as I pulled the door shut.
“Probably around eight? If thats not too late.”
“Eight is just fine. Maybe hold off on the sweets though if you get movie snacks.”
“What do you mean if? You always get movie snacks.” I laughed at Auston’s argument.
“The popcorn is pretty good.”
“And the little chocolate crunchy things.”
“The Buncha Crunches?”
“Yeah, those.” Auston nodded. I leaned against the porch rail, and Auston mirrored my stance next to me.
“He’s gonna be so excited to see you.”
“Oh, quit that.” Auston bumped his hip against my own.
“You don’t understand how much he loves you. Or how much he misses you. When you’re on road trips. And how scared he gets when he thinks you’re hurt.”
“I’m always a call away.”
“Yeah I know. I just hate not knowing your schedule when you’re in another city.”
“Shoot me a text.” Auston rested his hand atop my own. “You’re a first priority. I’ll always text you back fast.”
Our conversation was cut off as a car pulled into the drive. The back window rolled down as Hudson hopped out with his book bag. His friend waved and shouted goodbye.
“Thanks for the ride Mrs. Haleigh!” Hudson bounced up the driveway, but the second he turned in our direction, his speed picked up. I waved to Haleigh before she pulled out of my driveway and left.
“Auston!” He climbed up the porch steps and dropped his bag.
“You mind if I steal ya for a bit tonight?” Auston asked, holding his hand out for their elaborate handshake.
“Did you ask mom?”
“Of course I did.”
“Can I put my stuff inside?”
“I’ll get it.” I answered quietly, laughing. “I’ll take a hug first before you leave.” I added quickly. Hudson was swift to spin around and hug my legs. “Be safe. And listen to Auston.”
“I always do.”
“I’m serious.” I pulled away to grab his bag from the floor.
“I’ll see you boys later.” Hudson was already jogging down the stairs by the time I turned to Auston. I rested my hand beneath his chin and guided his lips to my own. “I love you.” I whispered.
“I love you too.” Auston smiled, pressing another quick kiss to my lips. Hudson had never been one of those kids to gag or groan. He usually just smiled or looked away. I had no doubt it was because of his happiness. He didn’t grow up for five years with a proper example of love. He was content with knowing love provided happiness. With understanding that we had a good situation.
“Ready, Hudson?” Auston finally followed the kid down the steps.
“Yes!”
I gave one last wave before they left. When the silence set in, I felt both at ease and antsy. I decided to slip back inside to find something to busy myself with.
——————
“So what snacks do you want?”
“Can we get gummies?”
“I’m cool with that. What about slushees?”
“Oh! Blue!”
Auston followed and enforced every rule you did. Almost every rule. When it came to movies, he didn’t give Hudson a sugar limit other than what would make the kid sick. And when it came to hockey, Auston told Hudson sometimes cursing was appropriate. Hudson however, was keen on saying words and phrases you told him never to say. Like “stupid” and “jerk.” Hudson knew of curse words, but they weren’t well rounded in his vocabulary yet.
“Did you get that?” Auston asked the woman behind the counter, who smiled and nodded.
“Cute kid.” She complimented.
“He’s my girlfriend’s.” Auston used to love the attention in Toronto. Girls always managed to find him, speak to him, contact him. It brought a lot of confidence, and worked wonders on his ego. If he was honest with himself, Auston didn’t know what he was getting into when he first met Hudson. Auston always said he wasn’t opposed to meeting somebody, he just never found the right person. Turns out his right person was actually two people. Now he only needed one love to make him feel like a million bucks. And the admiration of the kid standing next to him, trying to gnaw open a bag of gummy worms.
“You think mom’s okay on her own?” Hudson asked after Auston had paid, and they were handed the rest of their snacks.
“I think she’s doing just fine.”
“How’s come you didn’t invite her?” Auston led the kid toward the theatre corridor.
“‘Cause I just wanted to have a fun night with you.”
“You always invite mom.” Auston sighed, glancing down at Hudson.
“I have a really important question for you.”
“How important?”
Auston had to pause, thinking of a good comparison.
“Like.. Stanley Cup important.” He found amusement in the way Hudson immediately looked up at him, wide eyed.
“Dude…” Hudson whispered. “That’s pretty important.”
“I know.”
“Why do you need to ask me?”
“Because right now, you’re kinda like.. the keeper of the cup.”
“That’s cool. What does he do?”
“He protects the cup. Makes sure it doesn’t get any scratches. Travels everywhere with it, and keeps an eye on it.”
“Well that sounds like a pretty boring job.”
“Yeah, but its important.” Auston paused as he pulled the door to their theatre open.
“So what are you asking me?”
“Well I can’t tell you right now.” Hudson groaned as he walked up the isle into the theatre, Auston following close behind.
“Why do I have to wait?”
“I wasn’t gonna bring it up until after we watched the movie.” Auston reasoned as he helped Hudson find their seats. Hudson’s silence was a bit out of character, but Auston let it slide. Once they got comfortable, Hudson turned to him.
“Nobody’s ever told me I’m as important as the guy who watches the Stanley Cup.” He admitted softly.
“Well I’m glad I got to be the first.” Auston smirked, reaching for the extra straw he’d stuffed in his pocket.
“What’s that for?” Hudson asked, watching as Auston peeled the wrapper off and crumbled it up. They made brief eye contact before Auston stuck the straw in Hudson’s slushee and took a sip.
“Hey!” Hudson laughed quietly, and soon Auston was laughing too. “That’s not fair!”
“Yeah, we’ll I paid for it, pal.”
“You’re mean,” Hudson teased as he swatted the bill of Auston’s hat.
“I only do it cause I love ya.” The words left Auston’s lips before he could really think of them. He looked away almost immediately, holding his breath and trying to act natural. A kid can smell panic from a mile away. But instead of Hudson asking any more questions, or teasing, he let out a big old sigh and looked forward as well. Auston saw him smile from the corner of his eye. Then he felt a small hand rest on his arm.
“I love you too.” Auston could hardly contain his smile, and he was still grinning like an idiot as soon as the movie began.
The boys sat quietly through the movie, though admittedly Auston missed most of it, replaying the quiet moment he shared with Hudson over and over again in his head. He’d worked hard to earn Hudson’s respect and acceptance. He worked hard to fill a role he knew he hadn’t been prepared for.
When the movie ended, Auston knew he’d have no trouble asking Hudson his important question.
“That was such a cool movie.” Hudson beamed as the credits began to roll. Auston helped him gather their trash before they left the theatre and threw everything away.
“Thanks for taking me out, Auston!” Hudson skipped along the tile floor in the lobby, careful not to step on any cracks. Auston laughed at his excitement. The kid was all hopped up on sugar.
“Hold up, Buddy.” Auston immediately reached for Hudson’s hand when the boy made it to the door. Hudson high fived Auston before pushing the door open.
“No, Hudsy. It’s a dark parking lot. Hold my hand.” Auston’s amused laughter was met with a bashful smile from Hudson, who slipped his hand into Auston’s. They were careful when walking across the parking lot, and Auston opened the front door for Hudson.
“My car seat’s in the back.” Hudson reminded.
“We have to talk first, little dude.”
“Oh! Oh yeah.” Hudson climbed up into the front seat, before Auston walked around the car to join him on the other side. He pulled his door shut and turned the vehicle on.
“So, this big question.”
“Yes.” Hudson pulled his legs up onto the seat to fold them up, turning to face Auston.
“You ready for it?” Despite his certainty that he’d get a yes, Auston still felt nervous.
“Yes!” Hudson insisted.
“Alright.. I want you to be honest with me. Like completely honest. Okay?”
“Just ask, Auston.” Hudson urged. His impatience got the best of him.
“Is it okay if I marry your mom?”
There was a beat of silence. Hudson taking time to process the question, while his wide eyes studied Auston’s face.
“You wanna marry my mom.” Hudson repeated.
“Yeah? I really love her, Aus. And I love you. I’d love to join your little family.” Auston fidgeted with his own hands, occasionally glancing down to avoid the steady gaze from the kid across the console.
“So you mean like.. I’m gonna have a dad? Like a real dad?” Auston immediately looked up.
“Of course, Hudson. That’s what I’ve been trying to do.”
“I’m gonna have a dad.” Hudson’s features shifted from excitement to shock, then he couldn’t sit still. His hands pulled at the fabric of his pants, seemingly distressed as tears clouded his vision.
“Hudson?” Auston immediately reached across the car to rest a hand on the boy’s arm. “What’s wrong?”
“I’m gonna have a dad.” Hudson cried out, the tears spilling down his cheeks. Years of confusion and grief, always feeling like he was missing out on something. It was finally coming to an end. Hudson’s mind could only focus on one thing. Having a second parent.
“Buddy, come here.” Auston gently guided Hudson forward. The kid practically climbed over the console and right into Auston’s lap, wrapping his arms around the man’s shoulders to sob against his collar. Auston held onto Hudson like his whole life depended on it. The situation choked him up, but he kept a brave face. At least he thought he did, until he felt a few tears of his own sliding down his cheeks.
“Hudson,” Auston forced the word from his lips. He knew Hudson would be happy eventually, but the pain had to come first. Kids were too young to completely understand their emotions. Hudson’s tears came from fear and relief. Relief of knowing the wait was over, and fear of not understanding why that made him want to cry. He just needed to let it out. Auston learned he was pretty good at sitting and waiting for that.
“I gotcha, Hudson. You wanna take a few breaths for me?” He felt Hudson’s choppy breathing stop for only a moment before it started again. He was listening.
“Those were pretty bad breaths, dude.” Auston teased softly, sniffing quietly, a quiet quivering laugh falling from his lips.
“Shut up.” Hudson pouted, his voice broke as he spoke. He gently punched Auston’s shoulder.
“You wanna try that again?” Auston moved one of his hands from Hudson’s back to reach for the hand that hit his shoulder. Hudson only tightened his grip.
“I just-“ he hiccuped. “I just wanna hug a little bit longer.” He whispered.
“You got it.” Auston nodded, wrapping his arm back around Hudson.
At some point, Hudson’s legs grew tired, and his grip on Auston finally loosened. So, the hockey player took his chance to help Hudson lean back, a smile on his lips as he pulled the sleeve of his sweatshirt over his palm.
“You okay now?” Auston asked as he wiped Hudson’s face with his sleeve. Hudson managed a smile and nodded.
“I’m really happy.” Hudson finally admitted, though his voice sounded as though another round of tears were close behind.
“You can’t tell your mom, okay? You’re gonna help me with everything, but you can’t tell her.”
“I can do that. I won’t tell anybody.” Hudson spoke as he stood on the seat between Auston’s legs, leaning back against the steering wheel.
“Betcha didn’t expect me to ask that kinda question tonight. Did ya?”
“That’s bigger than the Stanley Cup.” Hudson giggled quietly, still sniffling as he rubbed at his face.
“I know. That’s why I had to ask your permission. You and your mom mean the world to me. I wanted to make sure you were okay with it first.”
“It’s okay with me.” Hudson clarified, as if he needed to. “You can marry my mom.”
“You know.. as her son, you’ll get the third piece of cake in the wedding.”
“Who gets the first and second?”
“Me and your mom.” Auston helped Hudson back across to the passenger seat.
“You’ll share a little bit with me though.. won’t you?” Hudson’s question made Auston scoff out a laugh.
“We’ll talk about it more when the time comes.”

╰┈❥ Contains: Zayne/MC. No real plot. Just a fluffy moment. Slightly tsundere MC. Unnamed female MC. Third person POV. [AO3. WC: 723. Fluff.]
The image of Zayne with an armful of colourful plush bears and penguins came into sight as she turned the corner of the pediatric wing.
“Zayne?” she called out softly with a slight giggle.
His name in her voice had always cut through any other distraction to capture his attention. He turned to face her, causing a plush polar bear to slip from his arm.
“Ah, I wasn't expecting you here so early. Is there a blue moon tonight?” he asked, neatly placing a plush penguin on the wall display.
There was a large cutsey sign in pastel colours in the middle of a pyramid of plushies, all of which the doctor and the hunter had in their own plushie display at home. It seemed to be a plushie donation drive sponsored by Twinkle Toys.
“If you're going to be snarky every time I'm not late, I'll drink your latte,” she threatened, taking a sip from one of the two coffee cups in her hands.
Zayne chuckled at her response, his lips curling into a smile as he turned away from her to pick up the fallen bear. He placed it in an empty seat on the wall display before patting it on the head.
“If you drink two cups of coffee at the same time, you'll be on the toilet all night. I’ve stocked up on Pepto Bismol, so there's no need to worry. If you want to give yourself a stomach ache, I'll take care of you.”
She beamed at him, watching him straighten out the crooked plushies on the display as his words warmed her with a soft and fuzzy feeling that may or may not have been from the coffee.
“But I reserve the right to say 'I told you so',” he added with his usual nonchalance.
Her smile dropped. She tucked one cup of coffee into her arm to free up a hand and swat him on the ass in retaliation, the sound of the impact echoing through the hospital halls.
His body stilled, his hand nearly crushing a penguin’s face in.
“...There are children here,” he reminded her, his voice steady as he pushed his glasses up with a finger. “Apparently, there’s a child here with me as well.”
“Just take your coffee,” she huffed, a smile threatening to break through her annoyance at him.
Zayne took the cup from her and stood back to admire the now-neatly organized plushie display. His hand settled on top of her head, much like how he had patted each plushie on the head when he placed them in their slots on the wall.
She didn't react, merely staying close to him as the warm sunlight poured through the hall to surround them. The bustle of doctors and nurses rushing through the hospital seemed a whole world away in their secluded hallway of soft plushies and the sweet scent of vanilla lattes.
“Why are you in charge of the plushie display?” she asked in earnest, her voice softer now.
“I’m not,” he answered simply. “I was just passing by when I saw a penguin about to fall off. I thought it looked like you when you get hungry—” He was cut off by the incredulous look she gave him, but he continued with a smile. “So I put her back in her seat and made sure her friends wouldn't fall off either.”
His hand trailed down to her shoulder, moving slowly to the small of her back as he led her down the hall. “Let's go. You'll be late for the appointment if you stay here any longer.”
She looked up to meet his gaze, confused, but her body responded out of habit, her feet carrying her in the direction Zayne had set. “I don't have an appointment today.”
“We do.”
As they walked back to his office, Zayne nodded to a passing nurse, who did a double take once she saw his arm around the hunter's waist.
“All-you-can-eat desserts. Our reservation is in an hour.”
Zayne didn't have to look at her to know that her eyes were sparkling at the surprise promise of sweets. It was always so easy to make her happy. And whenever he felt her squeeze his arm just a little tighter, it always flooded his chest with a warmth that he quickly grew addicted to.
╰┈❥ Note: The sweets restaurant I had in mind was actually Cafe Ron Ron, a place I had visited once before. After some googling, I realized that it seemed to be the only one of its kind in the world and is actually now shut down, so I had to just generalize it to an AYCE place. Zayne and MC would've loved that place tho
#yes I'm procrastinating on my other thing by writing this but this got more inspiration to make it to the finish line so here it is first#love and deepspace#zayne love and deepspace#celestial myths

let u decide, rintarō suna
synopsis: some days you loved him, others you wish you never met him. some days he hated the fact you were simply breathing, other days he wanted to be against your chest, listening to your heartbeat. he’s your ex—your ex friend, your ex fling, your ex boyfriend. you should be moving on! so why are you still with him?
⚠️mentions of drug use, swearing, exboyfriend!suna, plug!suna, on/off again relationship, arguing, guilt tripping, gaslighting, inconclusive ending.
kio’s notes - here’s my intro to the haikyuu fic world! also the ending is intended to be the way it is. the goal is to have you (the reader aka y/n) to determine their fate w suna. y’all gonna continue the cycle or break it?
⊱ ──────── {.⋅ ✺ ⋅.}──────── ⊰
it was one of those nights again. where the weather was chilly, winds blowing any which way. the sky was painted a midnight blue, with purplish clouds. you were sitting in your room, face in your plush penguin as you listened to a video lecture. you were doing homework, struggling to even care about the subject at hand.
if it wasn’t a requirement for your major, you would have never even stepped foot in the classroom. because what fresh hell is this?
anyways—
you were listening to your professor give an example of some term he just said, you don’t know. you had tapped out and were now just waiting for the motivation to hit you again. but that atten got pulled away the minute your phone vibrated from beside your computer. you got a text.
rō🔌🖤🏐
i’m outside.
you furrowed your brows at the message. you now were up from your bed, in front of your window to look down into your complex’s parking lot. low and behold, in the spot reserved for your apartment was suna’s matte black bmw xm.
you let out a deep sigh before turning to your laptop and pushing your finger on the space key to pause the video. thankfully you weren’t in your typical loungewear of shorts and an oversized shirt, but rather black yoga pants and a black hoodie. it was a different level of chili today, so your feet being in warm fuzzy socks were fine outside in the cold. great for you, since the only shoes you could slip them into were your beige crocs.
when you locked up your house, you quickly jogged down the stairs and to his car, wanting to get whatever it was he wanted over.
what was once suna stopping by whenever and coming up to your front door was now you meeting him at his car like his other clients.
you walked to his window, tapping your nail against it to pull his attention from his phone. when he looked up at you, he gave you a lazy smile. he gestured for you to go around and come in, which made you raise your brows. he normally would just roll down his window and hand you the sandwich bag with your weed in it.
you give him the same look you gave him from upstairs and he just chuckled in response, signaling for you to go around once more. because he knew you’d listen.
and when you sat in the passenger seat with your back pressed against the door with an irritated look on your face, he still kept the smirk on his face. “happy to see me?”
“i was doing homework.” you intended to make him feel bad for disturbing your studies. after all, as a fellow scholarship student, suna should know how important it is to be consistent in one’s studies. however, because suna also knew you, he knew you were completely and utterly bullshitting.
“righttt, anyways i got your stuff.” he leaned over to your side of the car, pushing the button to open his glove compartment. he was close, his upper body stretching over your legs to retrieve whatever.
“i didn’t order anything from you. i still have from—.” but you were cut off when you saw a bag with ten, thick and tightly rolled spliffs.
suna smiled, “sure? swore i saw sum on your twitter today about ‘needin’ a blunt and a booty rub?” he quirked up a brow, his fox eyes shining with mischief.
you rolled your eyes with a scoff, “it was a retweet. and it was addressed to no one in particular, nosey ass.” he didn’t pay the name any mind. he never did when you would mock him. he instead just nodded, chuckling at how quick your defense came.
“uh huh, well here. figure you’re almost out of the other one i gave you.” he pushed the bag to you, dropping it on your lap. the smell was potent, each spliff had to have maybe two to four grams worth inside.
you pulled out your phone from you pants pocket, using your face id to open it, “how much you want for it? i just paid rent so if it’s anything more than a bill, ima have to hand it back.” you went to your messages with him tapping on your apple pay.
“i just want you to smoke one with me. no money.” he leaned his head back against the headrest, looking at you with tired but hopeful eyes.
it sounded like a simple request, but you know what came with it. the flirtatious banter and innuendos. circling around the topic of your relationship but never diving in. the stories of all the demons he’s been fighting. how he wishes you would come back to him.
you were his person after all. no one understood suna quite like you. you had a lifetime-lasting ticket to suna. from who he was to what he liked, his coping mechanisms, his defense ones; his favorite things, his most hated moments…you knew him probably better than he knew himself.
but you should tell him no. you should thank him for the offer but push the bag back into his possession. you should decline and leave the car. leave and break the cycle you found yourself in. this toxic reconciliation cycle.
but he was right. you were almost out, and you were planning to text him for a re-up anyways. and his car was really warm in comparison to outside. why waste a few moments of warming up?
after all, suna was always there when you needed him, weed-related needs aside. like when you had missed the bus and was running late to class (one you had to go to because there was an in-class assignment), you called suna and in five minutes he arrived to your apartment to take you to class. and he even waited until you finished to treat you to ice cream. he was also your go-to whenever you were sad—or even when you wanted to share good news with somebody.
so because of this, it was easy for you to relax back in the car seat, pulling one of the spliffs out of the bag with a huff. “you have a light?” you ask him with your hand out towards him, opened and waiting for him to put whatever bic lighter he had in his cup holder in your hand.
suna instead plucked the spliff from your fingers, and when he noticed your irritated face, he shrugged, “whoever rolls lights first. otherwise it’s bad luck for ‘em. you want me to have bad luck, yeah?” he had a smirk, taunting you with glimmer in his eyes and wiggling brows.
you would normally be playful back, usually biting the bullet and letting suna’s stupid jokes win you over. however, this time wasn’t like the other times.
you were really mad at him.
he had been seen around campus with like three different girls, all under his arm with hearts in their eyes looking at him. yes, you two were no longer together, but you still had a habit of being jealous whenever you saw or heard of new women in suna’s life.
and then on your way home today, as you passed by the usual coffee shop that was in between your college and your home, you saw through the window none other than suna, holding hands with a woman you didn’t know, but knew you hated. their hands were on the table, his thumb rubbing the back of hers and staring intently into her eyes. you couldn’t make out what he was saying, but by the way the girl tucked some hair behind her ear and looked down to avoid suna’s gaze, you could tell what type of conversation they were having.
“yes.” you said quietly, just as he slapped a lighter into your hand. he wasn’t thinking that you’d respond, let alone actually answering the question. but when he heard it, he looked up with his brows furrowed.
“now that’s just mean, sunshine. y’know you oughta be nicer to me. i’m a sensitive soul, remember.” he said with a pout and hand to his heart.
you rolled your eyes, “whatever suna.” you glanced down at the lighter in your hand. it was a gold zippo lighter. engraved on it was ‘if my soul was a spliff, you’d be like… the flame to it.’ —something you had said to him when you two were together, cuddled up in bed and off some pot brownies you bought from osamu.
“y’know,” you started, low eyes watching the screen before you as you lied on suna’s chest, arms wrapped around him. he was sitting up in the bed, running his finger back and forth on your arm. he put on bobs burgers, the two of you really wanting it for more background noise then entertainment.
“if my soul was a spliff, you’d be like…the flame to it.” your face was pressed against his chest so your words were a bit muffled, but he heard you and immediately cracked up in fits of laughter.
“no more edibles for you, sunshine.” he said with a giggle, secretly loving what you said. his cheeks started to get warm, and he was happy you weren’t focused on his face so you couldn’t see him. but he didn’t realize you could hear his heartbeat pick up.
“you still have this?” you asked him, looking at the engraved words, rubbing a finger over them. you gifted the lighter to him as a spontaneous and romantic gift. because of his…line of work, suna was always showering you with gifts. if he was out and saw something that reminded him of you? he got it. saw you glancing just a little too much at something in a store window? it’s yours in the next five minutes.
so how do you top a lot of small gifts? with one big, meaningful, romantic gift. and it just so happened to be an engraved lighter with the first time you ever told him what he meant to you.
suna shrugged, putting the spliff between his lips. “some chick told me refillable is to show how our love will never end. thought she was a sappy thing, that one.” he said. when he watched the way your face dropped at his choice of words, he laughed.
“but i think she was onto something.” he took your wrist, bringing it to him so you could light his spliff. you flicked open the top and did as he wanted, watching the cherry form at the end of the spliff. suna always rolled the spliff around the flame, burning it evenly to avoid it canoeing.
he looked at you through his lashes as you lit the spliff, his honey colored, fox eyes glowing with the help of the flame. your eyes looked to his for a moment, and when you met his gaze, you felt a rush through your body.
when it was good, you moved back quickly, closing the lighter but still keeping it in your hand. you squeezed it, a lame way to channel whatever feeling entered your body. it was either squeezing the lighter or your thighs, and lord only knows the ego suna would get if he caught that.
you cleared your throat, “she might’ve just been dumb and in love.” you mumbled as a response. it wasn’t like your rebuttal wasn’t true. when it had come down to it, you were an honors student with a 3.4 gpa. you were going to go in your future career as a dominating force, immovable. so why the hell was your brain so empty when it came to suna? why was it so easy for him to takeover your world?
“you think it was dumb?”
“i think it was unrealistic. love can end.” you didn’t make eye contact with him. you just stared at the lighter.
suna shook his head and clicked his tongue off the roof of his mouth. “not ours, y/n. we’re too strong to end.” he passed you the spliff, blowing the smoke he inhaled out. you accepted it and took a long pull, feeling the smoke fill your chest.
when you exhaled, a scoff followed after, “you didn’t seem to think that when you had all those women under you on campus, though. you’ve curated quite the fan club from what i’ve seen.”
“your jealousy is flattering, sunshine. but i only have eyes for you.” suna didn’t take you seriously, he never did when you got jealous.
this time, you forced a laugh in response. “ha! there’s no way you’re saying that to me after i literally saw you with another girl at what used to be our place. starin’ at the bitch like she was all that.” you took one last pull before handing the spliff back to him. you folded your arms, sucking your teeth with a pout. “i’m not blind, suna.” you finished, letting him know that you will be addressing what you saw today.
suna was never one for confrontation—honestly, his reasoning was simply because he never cared enough to. but then he met you, and his entire self flipped on its axis. before, when faced with a situation suna didn’t let it stress him past the moment. you hated how nonchalant he was, but he told you it was just his nature.
but you were everything against suna’s nature. you weren’t nonchalant, you weren’t the calm and reasonable type. when you got angry you would see red and your mouth would grow hot with insults for whoever pissed you off and then some. and soon enough, some of your short-tempered ways transferred to suna. he never got to the ‘seeing red’ level, but it was fair to say he would be on the borderline every now and again.
before, when you’d bring up any problems you had about suna, he would be with folded arms and a straight face, either sitting or standing. he wouldn’t egg you on or snap at you, rather he would just take a deep breath and take full accountability, apologizing and moving on.
but now? ohhh! say something to him. no, really—suna wants you to try him. he wants nothing more than for you to keep the rather bitter and hostile energy you had towards him so that he could take it and give it back to you.
suna rolled his eyes in response, “and i’m not deaf y/n. so give me a break! as if you’re innocent? like i don’t hear how atsumu stays calling you names like ‘sweatheart’ and ‘baby’ whenever you’re in his radius? or how he can’t shut up in the locker room about how cute you looked? you’re throwing stones from a glass house, y/n.” his tone was condescending, talking down to you almost.
“oh! and let’s not forget how every fuckin’ time we face his school, you think kai is a goddamn comedian. all giggly and ‘kaiii stop’.” he imitated the way you would be around kai, how you would playfully push him away with giggles leaving your lips when kai would ask when you would stop playing and let him take you out.
you huffed, “that’s not the same as all these bitches being under you! do you see me cuddled up w tsumu? or holding hands on a date with kai?!”
despite the two of you in a heated argument, you continued to share the spliff properly. following the instruction, “puff puff pass” and handing it off when the other needed it. you both were annoyed that you had to go into a high mad at each other, but you couldn’t help it.
“we’re not together anymore, y/n! you have no right to be jealous when all i’m doing is living my life! if i wanna go on a date then ima go on a date. if i wanna walk around campus with some girl then i’ll do that. you just said our love isn’t strong, but now i can’t move on? make that make sense…”
you pushed your lips out, nodding at his words. not because you agreed, but because you were going to be on some petty shit (since that’s obviously what he wanted to do). “ight.” you simply said, taking the spliff from him while at the same time opening your phone.
the car grew quiet after that, you didn’t leave, and suna didn’t say anything more. he simply watched as you tapped away on your phone with one hand while you smoked with the other.
you soon handed him back the spliff, only glancing at him to see if he’d take it. he did, but there was no doubt he did with hesitation, wondering what you were thinking. he decided to just shelf it, maybe let the moment settle and apologize for his outburst.
but all that went flying out the window when he heard the voice of kai nobuyuki come from your phone.
“baby, just text me whenever you’re ready and i’ll come get you. i gotta see you in that lil’ teal number. you’re killing me here.”
and suna finally saw red.
he snatched your phone from your hand, giving you no time to process what happened until he was out the car, reading through your messages with kai.
“what the hell is he texting you at midnight for?” suna asked as he scrolled up to a conversation you and kai had a last night. “ ‘that picture of you has been doing something to me’ ?? what fucking picture did you send him, huh?!” he tried to scroll up to find it, but it was gone, all he saw was the message you sent along with it,
y/n
do you like it? 🥹i thought of you when i bought it
“suna what the fuck!” you climbed out the car, walking around to grab your phone from him. but suna was a step ahead of you, running to the other side as you came around. “you just told me i don’t have the right to be jealous. hypocrite!”
suna didn’t respond to you, not when he was too focused on going to your photos to find the date of the conversation, hoping to find the photo. your camera roll was filled with memes and pictures of you, some goofy ones you took to send to your friends group chat, some aesthetically pleasing ones for your social media, and just random ones. one suna wanted to make his lockscreen because he missed turning on his phone and seeing your face.
when he found the date that matched with your message, there was a picture of you standing in a store, taking a mirror selfie. you were wearing a black skirt, converse and a white nike crewneck; your bum length braids were tied half up half down as you snapped the picture, glossed lips puckered and fingers up in a peace sign.
it should be a normal picture, one suna should’ve just glanced over. but what caught his attention was the store you were in. it was your favorite place to shop, and you were standing in the lingerie section of the establishment.
“so we buyin’ lingerie for other people now? are you out of your mind?!” he yelled. he swiped, and there was a picture taken from your room. you were bending facing the phone, the shot only capturing your pouty lips and figure in the black lace lingerie set. your cleavage was on full display, with your hand cupping you right breast, french tip acrylics contrasting with the black lace.
he swiped again. you were in a teal, babydoll nightgown, posing with your back to the mirror as you ever so slightly lifted up one side of the dress, showcasing just a peek of your ass. it was enough to get his dick to twitch, and if it did that to him, he could only imagine what seeing you like this did to kai. suna was fuming. this had to have been the photo kai got.
a dark chuckle left suna’s lips, one that surprised both you and him. you hadn’t heard something like this come from him. usually when he was mad he would disassociate himself from the situation, but he wasn’t just mad this time.
he was downright pissed!
“rintarō, you said it yourself we’re done—.”
“because it’s what you wanted me to say. just like how you said our love isn’t forever and that it was dumb and unrealistic. that’s what you said! so of course i’m not going to oppose.”
“and you taking my phone is showing me…that i’m wrong?” you asked with a quizzical look, taunting him. “because this just seems to me like i’m right. like you said, we can move on. since that’s what you wanna do then let me do it.”
suna felt like he was losing his mind, “are you dumb?” he asked, getting you to blink in confusion. “like have you actually smoked your last brain cell? i don’t want to move on, y/n! why the hell do you think i still come here? i still sell to you?” he stepped closer to you. “every fucking time i try there you are. stupid eyes just calling me back, every. damn. time. i try another girl, i end up seeing you. i want to fuck on someone new? my dick can’t get up unless it’s to you. i physically cannot move on. ”
you immediately rolled your eyes. suna had played this game one too many times with you. went on a whole ramble about how you plagued his mind when you two weren’t together. at first you bought it. the second time too because he laid it on thick. but now? you were immune.
fool me once, shame on you. fool me twice, shame on me…
“am i supposed to believe that? like i didn’t see what i saw today? because it physically looked like you were capable of moving on to me.”
“and what you’re not?” suna was practically spoon feeding you the attitude you were giving him. “because kai would attest to that.” he waved your phone in your face, still opened on the messages with you and kai. you tried to reach for it, but suna was taller than you by a decent amount so he simply raised his hand, stopping you from getting it. you glared at him. neither of you said anything. you just stared at one another in angry silence.
this always happens! every couple months or so, you and suna part ways and do what is a poor attempt at moving on. it never works out though—maybe will last a month at most, but always ends up with one of you in the other’s bedroom, taking hits of his dab pen and cuddled up, back together once again.
it was like you two had built-in magnets for each other. no matter how far you tried to go, no matter how big a gap suna would put between you two, you would always come back to one another.
so would this time be any different?

hueningkai ~ i thought we were in love already?
pairing: kai x fem!reader summary: kai tries to think of ways to get you to like him, unbeknownst to him you've been in love with him the whole time. genre: best friends to lovers warnings: nervous kai, food word count: 1k click here for my masterlist!
kai wants you to like him.
soooooo bad.
he's had a crush on you for about 3 years, so basically since you met. you started working as a makeup artist for TXT 3 and a half years ago and never looked back. you clicked with all of them straight away, and slowly you were incorporated into their friday night movie nights, into their joint vacations, beomgyu even joked that you were their unofficial 6th member once, despite not singing and dancing for a living.
being friends with the boys became as easy as breathing, and now it was more than uncommon to find you without at least one of them glued to your side at any given minute.
especially kai.
you had gotten close faster than anyone else, due to your shared love of anime, plushies and video games. you had similar music tastes, but still different enough to warrant you making each other playlists of songs you think the other would like.
in the beginning, you often had hangout sessions to play games and watch anime together, but these turned into cuddle sessions over time. slowly they became sleepovers, and eventually, it ended up with you crashing at the dorm at least 2 nights a week. you were usually snuggled up to kai, both sleeping peacefully on his small, plushie-invaded bed while taehyun just sighed, looking on from his side of the room.
the members had all noticed this of course. it was hard not to notice the lovesick puppy he became whenever you were around. the longing stares, the sharing of snacks, the comparing hand sizes just so he could touch your hand. they were getting sick of it.
so what do they do? sit him down for an intervention. obviously.
"i just don't know how to make her like me..." kai pouted, clinging onto a plush cat in a penguin costume that you had gifted him for his birthday.
"SHE TOTALLY LIKES YOU ALREADY!! ARE YOU BLIND!?!" beomgyu screamed in his classic beomgyu fashion.
"WELL SHE HASN'T TOLD ME?? and we dont keep secrets from each other so she can't like me! ha!" kai argued smugly.
"not to side with beomgyu.. but you haven't told her either.." soobin cut in. kai fell back into the couch in defeat.
okay so intervention wasn't gonna cut it.
"haven't told who what?" you strolled into the room casually, stealing a sandwich from yeonjun's lunch plate, resulting in him glaring daggers at you.
maybe the intervention would work better with you here.
you looked around, mouth full of sandwich. soobin looked very awkward, taehyun's eyes were wide, beomgyu looked on the verge of crying with laughter and yeonjun.. well his sandwich was stolen. >:(
kai was BRIGHT red. like a fire engine.
"how long have you been here?" taehyun asked. you shrugged, taking another bite, "only a couple minutes, i just got here. why are you guys being weird?"
yeonjun sighed, looking directly at kai, "PLEASE can you just say it. or i will if you want me to?" he asked him. the poor boy was malfunctioning, he wanted you to know how much he loved you but was petrified of your rejection. he nodded to the older boy, not trusting his voice. he felt small under your gaze, letting out a meek, "you can say it."
he shoved his face into his plushie as if an 8-inch tall cat was going to hide an entire six-foot tall man. oh well, he could try. yeonjun turned to you seriously.
"kai really likes you but he's way too nervous to ask you out. he loves you a lot but doesn't know how to say it. this was supposed to be an intervention for him.. or maybe more like a pep talk? but then you showed up." he explained, doing his best to tell you gently.
"oh. i thought we already knew we liked each other? was i supposed to not know?"
beomgyu couldn't hold in his laughs anymore, "I TOLD YOU!!" kai's face shot up in surprise, "w-what?" he croaked.
you tilted your head in confusion, stuffing your hands in the pockets of kai's hoodie. "well.. we cuddle all the time, we're always holding hands, you kiss my cheeks when i'm sad, we even have matching rings?" you wiggled your fingers, showing off your ring to emphasise your point. "i've been in love with you this whole time, i just thought you weren't ready to be in a relationship yet being an idol and all? did i read the situation wrong? oh god-"
"NO!! no you definitely read it right!" he frantically waved, making sure you understand. "i like you so much, and i DID want you to know.. i guess i just didn't believe you'd like me too."
"kai do you think i sleep in the beds of people i don't like? wear their clothes?" you pulled at the hoodie covering your figure. he shook his head. "i guess not."
"you're so silly." you made your way across the room and sat down on the floor next to him, taking his hand in yours. "will you be my boyfriend then? officially?"
you'd never seen kai smile wider than in that moment. he threw his arms around you and held you close to him. "yes please." his voice was soft but you heard it, turning to press a kiss to his cheek. you missed slightly and hit the corner of his mouth, and butterflies erupted in his tummy.
"YES!!" "FINALLY!" "congratulations!" "WOO!!"
your friends cheered for you as you held your new boyfriend in your arms, all smiles.
"anyway.. what i actually came here to ask, do you guys wanna get barbecue together later?"
somehow the cheers were even louder for barbecue than they were for Y/Nkai
----------------- bonus ✧˖° -----------------
after getting barbecue with the boys, you decided to sleep over. nothing out of the ordinary, but the first time you'd be sleeping over as kai's girlfriend.
"i love you."
"you've told me that 3 times in the last 5 minutes."
"yeah but i spent 3 years not telling you."
"go to sleep." you snuggled further into his chest, pulling the blanket around the two of you.
"not until you say it back." he held you tightly.
"i love you too kai. so much." you pecked his cheek, making him smile contently. suddenly taehyun's lamp lit up from the other side of the room.
"will both of you shut up and sleep."

I am going to ramble about the idea of Larry giving Keeg a childhood off-screen.
Keeg doesn't have his own bedroom, usually just sleeping in/with Larry or in his plasma ball but he does have a playroom (they got enough rooms to give him a playroom). He's got several types of toys and you can tell who gave him what. His absolute favorite toy is a penguin plush that he got from a trip to the zoo. His favorite from Larry is a wooden airplane, his favorite from Cliff is a box of hot wheels, his favorite from Rita is a Barbie with practically every outfit available, his favorite from Vic is a box of Legos, his favorite from Jane is a children's easel (I know it's not exactly a toy but it's in his playroom so it counts), his favorite from Laura is a doctor's kit, and his favorite from Rama is a chemistry set.
Larry takes Keeg to the local park and he makes friends with every child there. Larry has semi-befriended many of the kids parents.
(random idea for a conversation between him and one of the parents:
Parent: the father of my daughter left me when I got pregnant.
Larry: yeah...Keeg's dad did too.
No one questions him saying "Keeg's dad" because they can see that he isn't exactly human so him having two dads, one who implies he carried the child, isn't their biggest worry.)
Keeg gets invited often to sleepovers and to spend the day at other kids homes but Larry is worried about letting him go without him. The parents understand, the kids not so much. Keeg does get to go to every birthday party though and occasionally his friends do get to spend the day at his house. Once, Keeg did have a birthday party (either in-between seasons or after the show's end, you decide) where his friends showed up and they had a blast. He's friends with two cyborgs (one being THE cyborg) and one of his friends can shapeshift? Of course kids are going to have fun.
Keeg really wants to go to school but Larry is worried about letting him go.

SETTING: you're an orphan apart of the hotel bouffes d'ete group. normally, you sleep with stuffed animals at night — something your siblings weren't aware of until they came looking for you. [ requested ]
RELATIONSHIPS: lynette & gn!reader, lyney & gn!reader, freminet & gn!reader
lynette pauses in your doorway, hands tucked in front of her while lavender eyes glance over the scene before her. she had no idea of your collection of plushes, though when lyney comes to see what the hold up is, she's quick to shoo him away so as to not disturb the scene.
standing there, the young woman is thoughtful. finally, she leaves to retrieve something.
when you wake up, you feel something warm and fuzzy moving on you. your first thought is one of your plushes came to life, which is debunked when you hear a soft meow. opening up sleep-filled eyes, your blurry vision sets sight on one of lynette's kittens crawling all over you.
you barely have time to process as lynette picks up the kitten by the middle to hold it, petting it.
"i won't tell lyney if you carry the cat food back home," she tells you, and you can feel your face paling as you manage a meek nod. your brother wouldn't let you hear the end of it.
lyney knows better than to barge into someone's room when they're sleeping — so, his entrance is quiet, one hand braced against the door frame while the other turns the doorknob and pushes the door open. leaning into the dark room, he spots your sleeping figure amongst a mountain of stuffed animals.
the sight makes him pull back with a thoughtful pause.
still, he had to get you up, so he does as he was instructed to do without much fuss. it's what happens after that makes you more embarrassed and exasperated he found out.
"ma puce," he calls out, holding up a plush from the stall he's at in the commercial district. "do you have this one yet? i can get it for you if you don't!"
you hold up a hand to block him from your vision, turning your body and beginning to walk away as the onlookers look between the famous magician and you. at your lack of response, lyney calls out and runs after you, lack of plush in hand.
"i was just teasing!" he says, huffing as he catches up. "i'll find one you don't have yet and get you one! it'll be a great trick!"
an "uh-huh" is only offered to sate him before he starts pouting.
[ * ma puce stands for my flea. it's a term of endearment that can be used for friends, lovers, and family. ]
freminet cracks open your door to look through the small opening, making sure he isn't overstepping anything going on. when he confirms you're just asleep, he finally pushes the door fully open as light from the hallway floods into a narrow opening that illuminates the scene in front of him.
you'd always shown interest in pers whenever he had it out, something that freminet had taken note of. upon seeing the mountain of plushes you've had hidden away in your room, he understands now why you were so drawn to his little penguin companion.
while he's an individual of little word, he is one of action.
closing the door to your bedroom, freminet sets off to work.
the next time you go to bed, you're thankful for a decent rest after a long day. kicking your feet up, you lay back, and your head collides with some sort of metallic object covered in a plush texture that is just similar enough to your plushes that it could be easy to miss.
when you fish the object out, you realize it's a lookalike of freminet's pers with a note attached to it.
the note is a fast read in small but recognizable handwriting: "please take care of it."
