RWBY Villains could be scarier
I'm not a writer, like at all. I have no idea how to write a show and CRWBY gets a lot flack they dont deserve. I just wanted to give my opinion on the villains in RWBY. I've had this idea keeping me up at night, I just wanna get it out. Don't worry I haven't seen the newest volume so no spoilers here.
Cool? Cool. Alright down the rabbit hole.
We have our big bad in RWBY, Salem (also the Gods suck too but that's just me.) And we have seen some really creepy Grimm.
I mean the nuckelavee
Tumblr media
The apathy
Tumblr media
Horrifying. Grimm can and should be scary. They are monsters who are basically immortal who can learn as they get older. How smart can they get?
They can learn when to attack humans.
Tumblr media
They can apparently use magic.
When I first saw Salem I assumed she was some subspecies of grimm who looked like human. Maybe to trick dumb humans. Like I can't shoot this grimm it looks like a girl. And then she kills them. I imagined she was like a queen bee who could lead her armies to destroy mankind and all their creations. So what if the members of her roundtable were all grimm too. Grimm who have lived long enough to be intelligent.
It would make the Grimm more than a horde you have to get through. But a force of nature that truly wants to end your entire species.
We have a wicked witch so why not other antagonists from other Fairy Tales. Since we already have Tyrian in Canon, I'm thinking a Grimm modeled after the Scorpion from Aesop's fable. Tyrian normal, creepy. Grimm Tyrian with six red eyes, giant pincers and a stinger, nightmare fuel.
And that's not all, we could have the Big Bad wolf, the jabberwocky, the Queen of Hearts, Wendigos, any story we tell our children to make them behave. It would make those grimm extra creepy. What have they done to survive all these years. How strong must they be to never be purified by huntsman of the past. They aren't just mindless, soulless beings but an organized force. All working together with the efficiency of a ant hive. Have you seen that video of a colony of ants working together to steal eggs from a wasp hive? Like that but bigger. Without ego or any human emotions.
Just trying over and over again, learning from each failure until they succeed. Mankind's worst enemy. And if the protagonists don't get it together, Mankind's end. But that's just me.

What the fuck what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck
I was firmly in camp “the Hound doesn’t have a person inside it” because none of the known characters would make sense
I did not anticipate “the Hound has some random unknown silver eyed warrior inside it” would be THE MOST EMOTIONALLY DEVASTATING OPTION
Who is this guy? How long has he been in this thing? What is Maria gonna think when she finds out that THAT could have been her fate? ALL OF THE IMPLICATIONS ARE BAD AND THERE’S SO MANY

For those looking for shows/animes/movies with good lgbt ships, here is a list of ones I personally like. Some of these are canon some are not.
Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous (animated show) - Netflix - canon wlw ship and has a character with 2 dads. (Plenty of queer coding aswell)
Heartstopper (live action show) - Netflix canon wlw and mlm ship and a trans (mtf) character, asexual character.
Stranger Things (live action show) - Netflix - canon gay, lesbian and bisexual characters as well as alot of queer coding
Arcane (animated show) - Netflix - semi canon wlw ship
Kipo and the age of Wonderbeasts (animated show) - Netflix - canon mlm ship, Canon non-binary character
She-Ra and The Princess of Power (animated show) - Netflix - canon wlw ship and canon poly ship, a non-binary character and a character with 2 dads
Sk8 the Infinity (anime) - crunchyroll - 1 canon gay character, 1 semi canon gay character as well as many queer coded ones
Sasaki to Miyano (anime) - crunchyroll - 2 canon mlm ships
My Hero Acadamia (anime) - crunchyroll - 2 canon trans characters, 1 canon bisexual character (not the best rep but as long as you stick to the good part of the fandom there is so many good ships)(personally I recommend the manga over the anime tho :])
Luca (movie) - Disney+ soooo much queer coding, no canon ships
The Owl House (Animated show) - Disney+ - canon wlw ship and a non-binary character + a ship for that non-binary character. Character with 2 dads
The Maze Runner (live action film series) - Disney+ (there is also books) - canon gay character
Venom 1&2 (live action movie) - Disney+ - semi canon monster x human mlm ship I think (idk in the comics they are canon and have a kid tho-)
Camp Camp (animated show) - season 1,2,3 youtube, all seasons on RoosterTeeth - queer coding/ kinda canon bi character, one character has 2 dads
Sonic the Hedgehog 1&2 (animated movies) - Amazon Prime Video - canon mlm ship
Marble Hornets (found footage style horror) - YouTube - (the main focus is horror/story and not ships but the creators have confirmed some gay characters) 1 Canon gay character, 1 half Canon lesbian character, 1 Canon non-binary character (in the comics)
Helluva Boss (animated show) - YouTube - 2 bi characters, 1 pan character, 1 character who I think is either gay or queer idk, plenty of canon lgbt ships (Most of the characters are lgbt I don't think I can name them all these are just the main ones💀)
The Goldfinch (live action movie and novel) - Binge - mlm ship but Idk what their sexualities are.
IT 1 & 2 (2017) (live action horror movies) - Binge - Canon gay character, (not great movies for people who get offended though it has some... questionable jokes.)
I also personally like Sherlock and how gay that show was but ik alot of people hated that show due to its queerbaiting so that's why I didn't add it in.
(even if u don't watch Marble Hornets for the ships, maybe it's just my hyperfixation on this show but it's like 14 years old and deserves a bigger fan base and respect cuz its probably the best of its style of horror I have ever seen and the characters are amazing and the story and it makes my writing brain happy :] )
I'll update this as I watch more shows/animes/movies

Oh shit...
Just because I was right doesn’t mean I wanted to be right....
RoosterTeeth why you gotta do this to us? Why did you have to make our sweet faunus girl cry like that...? You heartless monsters. But honestly, I’m impressed....
The episode was well done. I knew there would be something up with the portals and some kind of gimmick due to how the phrased it. Please, Vacuo. Give us some aid. Give us some huntsmen and huntresses... something!
btw the effects in this episode were.... beautiful...
Ironwood really said “fuck this man in particular” before he left. I think that was legit the only part of the episode in which I laughed.
Oh also.... PENNY SEMBLANCE! PENNY SEMBLANCE! I’m so happy her semblance (or at least what I assume to be her semblance) is her Floating Array. It makes so much sense and I’m glad. Now, please give our girl some shoes or else Vacuo is gonna be a living nightmare to walk through. Also please don’t kill her k thnx <3
Also.... Cinder really out here wasting a question for Jinn. That was such a waste of a question and you can tell Jinn didn’t want to answer it just by her face. But, she’s obligated so of course she gave them the answer. It just makes me sad that they really said “Cinder is gonna ask the most pointless question in the entire world to Jinn” because that question could have been used for so much more than just Cinder and Neo’s unneeded revenge plot against our little Ruby Rose.
And y’all saw what happened when she fell right? She seemed to phase through the “bottom”. There’s still hope for those who got knocked off and for our fiery girl. I just don’t know where they’d end up.... It’s something I’ll have to re-watch the episode and speculate about.
Also I’m so happy that Harriet at least showed some emotion (other than unbridled rage) before being interrupted by Robin and Qrow. I’m very worried about Elm and Marrow though. Please let them be okay.
Hold on to your asses, friends. Only one episode left in V8.... the season finale is going to be a wild ride.

Jacques Schnee :3
Send me a RWBY character and I’ll tell you:
Jacques Schnee
Weasel, why the fuCK-
My top three ships for the character
I want it to be stated that for some of these characters I have approximately No Ships for them so I’m basically scraping the bottom of the barrel for something that might be, in theory, at the very least aesthetically pleasing even if I’d never actually ship it. That being said young Jacques could Get It so-
Jacques/Willow (they fuckin deserve each other, especially if Comics Willow), Jacques/Watts (hands almost touching through the hard light prison walls), Jacques/Sleet
My three least favorite ships for the character
Jacques/Willow, Jacques/Ironwood, Jacques/Sienna
My biggest criticism for the character
He went out thinking he was the victim and that he’d never done anything wrong. I didn’t want Jacques to die, I wanted him to rot in a jail cell, having lost everything he’d worked for, every scrap of power he’d gotten by using, abusing, and trodding on people. I wanted each of the Schnee kids to visit him in that jail cell and tell him he ain’t shit.
Also, in general, his arrest was very poorly handled. This is meant to be Weiss’s monster, the man who broke something in Winter so badly that she still finds it near-impossible to hug her little sister, who stole Weiss’s childhood and turned her natural talents into a marketing ploy, who played divide and conquer with his son, who drove his wife into such severe alcoholism that it’s normalised for her to be insensate at all times. This is the man who truly squeezed Mantle until it broke, who had children- literal children!- working in his mines, who had faunus branded and grinded down to nothing like he was Big Brother and the mines were his personal Room 101. This is the man who owned the world, and all he did was drain it dry for profit.
And his arrest is comedic. His every appearance after is ‘oh look at how wimpy he is, isn’t it funny?’ He goes out never even being confronted with how evil he is. He’s a billionaire, this is tumblr, why is everyone okay with his takedown being a big massive joke?
There should have been more teeth to him. He’s a nouveau riche ladder-climber who became head of a monopolistic company that provided Remnant’s every resource. Nearly every bit of technology on Remnant was Jacques’s. Every bullet, every scroll, every ship, every defence. The man should be far more cutthroat then how he was shown.
My favorite thing about the character
Oh, definitely his sliminess. If crwby leaned into how conniving and vicious and abusive he was, all under that veneer of ‘but I’m not a big company, I’m your friend’, then he’d be chilling.
But I guess that would hit a little close to home, wouldn’t it, RoosterTeeth?
A headcanon I have about them
Adam is so his bastard lovechild, you can’t tell me I’m wrong because canon never explicitly said this wasn’t the case, this man is absolutely the King of Minos in that regard.
What I would change about them if I was making a re-write
I’d play him completely straight. No jokes. No ‘the rich capitalist is wimpy, now laugh’. No ‘I’m a victim!’
I’d play him, and his abuse, 100% for keeps. See how funny he is then.
What I I think of their character allusion and what (if anything) I would change about it
See, he’s meant to be the Evil Queen in regards to Weiss, but that’s not his confirmed allusion, now is it? (personally I like to give the Evil Queen allusion to Willow, but that’s for a different ask).
I like him as Jack Frost, I won’t lie. While he’s a complete and utter insult to Best Boy Jack from Rise of the Guardians, I like the whole contrast with Nicholas Schnee as Santa. Even if ‘usurping ChristmasTHE SDC was basically just the plot of Santa Clause 3. I like it, I think it’s fun. No real need to change this allusion.

MY FAVORITE AH MOMENTS W/O R*an H*yw**d
Also keep in mind some of these moments i picked Bitch Face r*an may have been present for but this aint about his stupid ass.
The straw bit on Off Topic
Fiona and Trevor’s “Look at us” “Look at us” “Look at us” in TTT
Drunk Jeremy inhaling helium, followed by Jack and Trevor on Off Topic
“Krusty KrAYAYAB!!!” TTT
Jeremy trying to slam his face through a table, followed by Michael doing the same thing
“my god…… the munchdew” “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!” Minecraft: Skyfactory
Actually all of Simple Farmer Geoff from Skyfactory
Whatever those sounds were that Jack was making in the beginning of GTA video
Alfredo screaming as he continues to fall down a steep tube in a GTA race
DESTROYING THEIR OFFICE DEAR LORD
“How did he drown though?” “UNDERWATER, MATT!”
Anytime Fiona starts to RAGE in TTT (bonus if others join in)
The time Gav was the phantom in TTT and he kept dying and being brought back and Jack spitting water and then trying to catch it
Alfredo’s Magoo moments in Minecraft
Geoff laughing in the background of a video hes not in
Lindsay fucking around with Chef Mike on Harecore Minigolf
Lindsay fucking around in general
Gavin and Fiona playing Animal Crossing and laughing at the stupidest shit
The Fish Tempura incident on Wheel of Fortune
Lindsay’s reasoning for why her and Michael should have 4 kids
Geoff’s fucking ad reads (my favorite is 23&Me)
The whole thing during Push the Button where everyone especially Michael gets mad at Fiona because she said the best candy to get while trick or treating was lollipops
Matt’s fucking desk in the corner of the room
Anytime Millie is in a video
Everyone falling off the pink ladder during TTT and dying repeatedly because of it
Alfredo “the two-time champ” Diaz dying very early in YDYD 3
Gavin and Michael fucking up almost every game they play on Play Pals
RAY OR NO and then RAY OR NAY on Off Topic
Reddit Roasts Geoff
Gavin asking if someone could kill 20 cows with their bare hands and the proceeding so say he could rip out a cow’s veins by reaching into its neck
Ify’s narration during Let’s Roll Ave Caesar
The internet losing its shit when Jeremy shaved his head years ago
“We need a knife” Gavin comes back with a hammer
Griffin chain sawing the Off Topic table up
“How do I put the boat in the water??” “Right click you animal”
As of 2020, 8 years of playing Minecraft, certain people still do not know how to play the basics of this fucking game.
Honestly it took over 200 episodes for some of them to figure out how the compass worked. You know after they decided that the sun was setting in the wrong direction. (this was in 2016??)
Flynt coal still is a joke they make
So is Day 2
Whatever happened in that GTA lets play where someone called a mugger or a hit on someone and the game glitched and 50 guys showed up and lined up on the street below from where they were playing
Anytime Gavin gets mugged, it’s an old running gag but it’s a classic
The time a mugger fucking started driving the fire truck away after mugging Gavin with Michael and Jeremy still in the truck thinking the other is driving and it takes them like 2 minutes to realize what happened while Gavin’s yelling “come back”
They got a water jug and immediately started water boarding each other
“It pinged and went dingle”
“Hey Trey-Boi” “Hey Gay-Boi” Immediately realizes what he has said
Jeremy’s website puns
(OLD) Ray jerking off in the corner during a let’s play
(OLD) the world in Minecraft never loading and everyone screaming about as Geoff says its fine for him
Jeremy’s “I AM MONSTER TRUCK”
Jack taking AH to Disney……in Minecraft
On Twitter, Gavin asked about recommendations for a computer mouse and Fiona starts sending him pictures of actual mice.
“Its not ghey, if its on the moon”
Literally anything Fiona does as Po
Jeremy saying the heterosexual flag is boring
UNO THE MOVIE!
Geoff fucking cackling the whole time.
“here’s looking at you kid”
the video was almost 3 hours long
“you know what my favorite color is? blue” “oh really? You know what my favorite hand is? Yours
They all want it to end but no one wants to lose and so they fuck each other and that prolongs the game. Also they put on more rules, so they just keep getting more cards if they don’t have a card to match the previous
Alfredo saying he won’t participate in ghost hunter because he knows what happens to people of color in horror movies
Fiona walking in on Off Topic with a protein shake and Gavin asks if shes drinking milk and she says without missing a beat “ah no that’s cum” and everyone laughed not expecting the answer
(OLD) “SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER” *falls in hole*
(OLD) Ray and Gav running in a panel dressed as X-Ray and Vav and Ray running the whole way around the room before he got to the stage
Duck taping Jeremy to the wall
(OLD) All of Minecraft Episode 3 Plan G (This was the very first AH video I watch and why I know who they are)
Geoff and Gav creating Achievement City and giving everyone houses just to prank Jack into burning house down with lava.
Ray’s house is a dirt block with no furniture and single torch
Geoff’s giant ass house next to Ray’s tiny house
Jack tries to destroy everything with lava throughout the episode
“lets be honest, I realistically didn’t lose anything”
Michael stealing art from Gav’s house “NOO! I want nice things”
The sign to Michael’s says “Awaiting Approval, Awaiting Approval, Awaiting Approval” he runs into house and say “I’m home”
Ray also steals this sign at some point
Plan G – The failsafe.
“Oh whats this? Is this a button? Whats this? (pushes button) Yeah it was a button”
“Did you push the button?”
“Yeah”
“okay”
“wh-what does it do?”
“uh…”
Cue Achievement City beginning to explode as Michael starts screaming
Rays reaction “NO, MY SHITTY HOUSE JUST GOT EVEN SHITTIER!”
Not something funny but something VERY IMPORTANT. AH admitting that they all fucked up and how shitty their behavior was when dealing with harassment in the fanbase. People were racist, sexist, homophobic, misogynistic, and just downright horrible to a lot of the employees at RT and AH. This came up after Mica Burton left the company and talked about it publicly and how nothing was done about it. Fiona who also experiences these same things, along with Lindsay and other employees, but Fiona took the charge on the Off Topic talking about people can’t continue to get away with that behavior. She got to sound off her feelings to a group of white men who all respected her and LISTENED to what was saying and how she felt. She cried; Geoff cried. They all want to do more, so this doesn’t happen in the future and they’re not tolerating the racist and horrible comments. AH taking a mature moment to talk about how they failed to stop these comments and Geoff was right when he said the company has a long way to go.
Outside of AH each member has more to them than just all of the comedy and laughs and dumb shit they do
Geoff helped found Roosterteeth and Achievement Hunter. He has a beautiful daughter in Millie who is awesome in her own right. He’s a recovering alcoholic. Currently doing F**k Face podcasts. Was in the fucking army. Takes accountability for every mistake he makes.
Jack also helped start Achievement Hunter. He does so much work for charity. His twitter is full of things to help people go vote. He’s like the dad to AH, especially Fiona. He’s happily married to his wife Caiti.
Michael was an electrician and has a lot of handy man experience. He made a few videos online about him raging at games and that got the attention of RT. He’s currently married to Lindsay who he met because of RT. They have two kids together.
Gavin is an expert at high speed filmmaking and know how use and edit footage from a slow-motion camera. He has worked on actual films. One of the creators of the Slow Mo Guys. Worked his ass off to get to work for RT. Currently dating model and cosplayer Meg Turney
Lindsay flips between being the mom of the group and a complete chaos queen and we all love her for it. She started as an editor for the RT podcast and then AH stuff. She is an incredible voice actor, most known for Ruby Rose (RWBY), Space Kid (Camp Camp), Hilda (Xray & Vav) just to name a few. She also has a degree in finance
Jeremy started as a fan who made videos on the community page. He took over Ray’s place after Ray left to do Twitch full time. He is a self-published author and a skilled rapper and singer. He’s currently married to his wife, Kat.
Matt also started as a fan making videos on the community page. He actually interacted and made stuff for the guys in really early Minecraft episodes. Seriously this guy is like king of Minecraft. He has a degree in electrical engineering. He also has pretty decent singing voice.
Trevor is THE BOSS. Has a degree in aero-space engineering and is getting paid to babysit AH. Currently dating Barbara Dunkelman, RTs queen of puns.
Alfredo worked at IGN before RT and is a well-known streamer. He is the best when it comes to first person shooter games. He and Trevor look so similar.
Fiona. Po. Her majesty. Host of This Just Internet. A Twitch streamer. Baby of the bunch. Grew up in Europe. Her and Gav act like a pair of siblings. She has stated and showed time and time again she will fight for people to have safe spaces for anyone who needs them.
Ify, our new guy. He is wonderful and I want to stay forever. He’s a comedian, a writer, and an actor. Co hosts F-ing Around with Fiona. Has his own film podcast, Who Shot Ya? I look forward to more content with him in it, cause everything he’s been in so far has been great.
Were all hurting but well make it through this
We have all these wonderful moments and a lot more that I didn’t list and this incredible team of personalities with their own accomplishments and achievements. Not to mention old team members who were also great additions and the entire crew behind the scenes editing and making videos look the best that they can.
Here’s to Achievement Hunter and to this community. We need to be here for each other in times like these.
@theonyxranger gave me the idea for this based on their own post they made about the fans giving their favorite moments without bitch face and there were just too many. Oop.

Prompt 5: "I might just kiss you."

Rating: Mature
Warnings: Death, serious injury, guns, knives, blood, torture - mentioned, mature language, gta 5, rpf
...
...
...
"What the fuck do you mean they got Jeremy? Michael! What-"
"Ryan. Shut up." Geoff cut in, stepping forward and holding up his hand. "Jack! Can you-?"
"Yeah on it already." Jack had pulled out the first aid kit while Ryan was staring at Michael, frozen still. "Michael-"
"Help Gav first." Michael said. Gavin was swaying on his feet, blood seemingly all over him. Michael himself had a bloody rag wrapped around his arm and a bloody nose.
"Fuck. Gav sit." Geoff said pointing to a chair and pulling out his phone. "Actually both of you sit. Ryan, snap out of it." He held his phone up to his ear. "Yeah, Trevor. Send up the best medic you have here right now. Michael and Gavin are hurt. Jeremy's been taken. Tell Matt to track his cell, see if he can find anything. I'll call when I know more." Geoff paused listening. "Fine, just send them up...Fine." Geoff hung up and looked over at Ryan again, now staring at the ground as both Michael and Gavin had sat down. Ryan looked up and met Geoff's eyes.
"Let me go find him."
"Not until you have enough information to be useful out there. When they're not bleeding they can tell us what's going on and we can decide what to do."
"Jeremy could be being tortured! They could kill him in that time, we have to go look now!" Ryan said angrily.
"You can't find anyone if you don't know where to look." Geoff answered back. "Once Gavin and Michael are patched up-"
"That could take too long!" Ryan interrupted.
"We don't have a choice! It's our best use of resources."
"Geoff!" Michael said. "I can tell you what happened. We were doing a pickup, usual shit, but they were late. When we finally saw the truck pull in, I guess we'd let down our guard,  from impatience. When Jeremy and I walked forward with the money, some fucker grabbed Gav. It wasn't the weapons dealers, it was the Black Wings." Ryan almost growled. Upstart little gang that thought they could play big leagues, but this was pushing the line too far. He'd deal with them, once and for all. "They tried to grab us, they tried to threaten us, then they threatened to cut Gavin's throat right in front of us. I managed to get Gav, and get behind cover but they knocked Jeremy out when he tried to cover me. When I tried to get to him they shot. Got a lucky hit.  Gav was out already, and I'm not much good hiding without a fucking shooting arm."
"So what, you left him there?" Ryan said, not exactly angry at Michael, well, maybe a little.
"No. They grabbed him and left. I couldn't get to him in time. But if they just wanted to kill us they wouldn't have taken him. So I got back here as fast as I could."
"I'm gonna go burn down their whole fucking building." Ryan said calmly, turning around.
"No! Ryan. We don't know where they have him. Let Matt trace it first. Michael do you remember the vehicle or anything?"
"I'll call Matt on the way. Send anyone else who can help after me."
"Ryan." Geoff said in warning.
"Geoff." Ryan answered in a matching tone.
"At least talk to Trevor and take whoever he has in? I think Alfredo should be in at least."
"I'm not waiting for him to get ready. He can catch up." Ryan turned to leave but Michael's voice stopped him again.
"Ryan! Check with Fiona. She's been keeping an eye on them recently. She's probably somewhere near there anyway, take an extra gun for her." Ryan nodded briefly before heading out. Geoff was already on his phone with Trevor again.
"Ryan's on his way down, he probably won't stop anywhere except the armory. Tell whoever you have to follow him and get Matt or maybe Fiona to connect with him. The Black Wings have Jeremy. Ryan wants to burn their whole operation to the ground...yeah, I'm not opposed either but I'd rather he had more backup. Ryan's good, but so are the lads."
...
Ryan pulled up around the side of the building Fiona and Matt had identified. There was no door on this side and apparently no one looking out of upper windows because no one shot at him as he moved toward the back corner, and the Vagabond was a pretty recognizable enemy. Ryan knew why Geoff was worried, one man going in where all three of the lads had been taken by surprise? But Geoff was forgetting, the Vagabond wasn't really a man, he was a monster, and anyone who thought they could take his crew from him, could take Jeremy from him, were very, very wrong.
There were two men standing outside the back door, smoking and talking. Neither had a chance to lift a gun before they were dead. The door wasn't even locked, Ryan could just walk right in. As soon as he did there were two more guards and an alarm started to blare. Like the first two, these guards didn't stand a chance, though one did get the chance to recognize him, fear crossing over his face before Ryan shot the expression off. Sure Ryan intended to kill everyone in this damned crew but he needed to find Jeremy first. So as he heard feet and shouting coming his way he stepped back into an unlocked room. They were checking doors, he could hear them opening down the hall,  but he also heard some of them run off again. The smart thing would be to wait for then to come to him, but the waiting was grating on him, he didn't have unlimited time. So when he heard them slam open another door he opened his and slipped out, a few quick shots and the group was down, the ones in the room having stupidly come out to try and get him. One groaned as Ryan stepped closer and he bent down to fist a hand in their shirt.
"Where is he?" Ryan growled.
"Go back to hell!" Was the response and Ryan snarled and dropped them again.
He stepped around a corner just as two people came up on it from the other direction. This time Ryan grabbed one, gun to their head. The other pointed a gun at him but didn't risk a shot.
"Where is he?" He asked.
"Let her go!"
"Play dumb, and I'll make it hurt." Ryan threatened, pressing the gun hard into the woman's neck. She made a small noise of fear and her partner looked between the two of them quickly. Ryan gripped her neck tightly with his hand then slid the gun over and shot her foot. She screamed and tried to move but Ryan held her up and pressed the gun back to her neck. "Done playing?" He asked the one staring at him.
"Fine. He's in the interrogation room. Second floor, first hallway to the left, third door. It's locked and guarded." The person seemed to suddenly grow a spine, or they remembered who he was and that he wasn't letting them go anyways, because they suddenly spoke with a lot more heat than they had been. "They've had him in there since they got him here. I bet he's cracked under what they've done to him. They'll kill him before they let you get him back." Ryan considered the two of them for a second before shooting the one who'd spoken in the head. The one he was holding screamed again and he shot her too before moving to find stairs.
He was halfway up the stairs when he heard gunfire coming from the front of the building. His backup must have arrived, and as usual, the Fakes weren't subtle. That alarm was still going off and he could only credit that as to why he hadn't been completely swarmed despite his own gunshots. Stupid idea that alarm. And stupidly annoying. Ryan pressed back against a wall as footsteps thumped down the stairs above him, but they didn't check lower before he heard the second floor door swing open and shut again.
As had been predicted, the second floor was swarming with guards, though many of them seemed to be moving toward the front. Ryan glanced through, then leaned back against the wall beside the door. He reloaded his gun and considered waiting for Fiona and the others to get up to this floor and clear some of the guards. He considered what they might do to Jeremy if they had a chance to think they were being overrun while still holding him. Then he pulled a knife and pushed open the door. The first person who saw him tried to shout a warning but got a knife in the throat instead. The next person who saw him was far enough away to get a bullet instead, which ended his hope of a more stealthy approach. So he mowed them down. Anyone who came near him got reminded exactly who he was, not that it would help them any.
He had lost track of the directions he'd been given, but he reached what must be the room based on how many people had tried to stop him from getting to it. This door, at least, was locked, so Ryan broke it down.
Inside the room were two men. Jeremy was handcuffed to a chair, bloody and breathing heavily but he looked up when Ryan came in. The other man held a knife pressed to Jeremy's throat.
"Stay back! I'll slit his fucking throat right in front of you!" The man's voice was shaking and Jeremy let out a strained laugh.
"You're fucked. He's the fucking Vagabond, don't know how you think you can beat him."
"Shut up!" The man yelled pressing the knife in harder. Jeremy winced and Ryan growled.
"Let him go."
"No way in hell. Drop your weapons or I'll kill him!"
"How about this, you let him go right now and I'll shoot you in the head. You'll be dead before you feel anything. Or-" The man started to speak but Ryan just talked over him. "Or, I'll show you just how much pain your body can feel. You know who I am, you know what I do. Let me tell you, my reputation is only based on the stories people can stomach and the hint of more. But trust me there is so much more. If you don't let him go right now you'll be on the fast track to finding out just how far I can go." The man wasn't going to remove the knife, that wasn't what Ryan was counting on. He was waiting for the moment the man was distracted enough by his own imagination to let his attention stray from holding the knife to Jeremy's throat. As much as Ryan wanted to tear this man apart for touching one of his crewmates, he just needed Jeremy away from him, and so he would get a quick death, regardless how little he deserved it. And there it was, that moment he got lost in his own head. That's when Ryan shot and Jeremy jerked back to get away from the muscle spasm. The knife made a shallow cut instead of a fatal one and Ryan rushed to Jeremy's side. He popped the cuffs off quickly. "Are you okay? Can you walk?"
"Shit. Yeah, I should be fine. They didn't break anything. How are Gav and Michael?  Wait, who's with you?"
"Gavin and Michael are back at the penthouse. Lindsay and Fiona are here, and maybe Alfredo? I'm not exactly sure. I didn't exactly wait for them."
"You're telling me you came alone to the main base of a group who took down Gav, Michael and I? And just walked in shooting?"
"Um, kinda?"
"You're crazy." Jeremy said. "I think…" he paused then grinned. "I might just kiss you. You crazy man."

https://sokumotanaka.tumblr.com/post/187434182297/whats-the-rvvby-discourse-this-week-im-out-of
“Oh wow so we’re back to “it’s canon until it isn’t” that the manga was experiencing, except the comics literally struck out in their first issue? Isn’t that amazing?
Hey RoosterTeeth do y’all actually care about consistency in your show or can I just take my own liberties whenever I want too?”
Did Rooster Teeth have ANY say what happened with the comics?
Do ANY of you have any proof that this was suppose to be canon? Because considering the fact that I can’t find Miles or Kerry’s names on this project anywhere, only coming across Matt announcing it which contrasts the After The Fall book which was openly stated to be worked with by Miles and Kerry: I’m gonna make a bet that this is an ‘artist’s interpretation’ thing and that Miles and Kerry weren’t involved with this at all. So I have no reason to believe this is canon.
“The problem isn’t even fully the comics fault, Miles and Kerry don’t bother committing their lore to memory.”
Of course not! Why would it be the comic’s fault despite the creator of the comic apparently never hearing about RWBY beforehand when you can jack off the ol’ MK hateboner?
“This is considering alot of lore from the WOR is constantly called into question by both the fans and reviewers/critics etc.”
By this same logic, if a bunch of SU crits all repeat some misinformed and mistaken info then that means the show failed, because it has been ‘constantly called into question.’
“ Iila pulls her unpassword protected phone out in the middle of a fight for no reason.”
Not only does this NOT have anything to do with lore but Illa ALREADY HAD THE PHONE OUT. I will admit that in the scene it does disappear from the previous episode and reappear...but you never point that out do you?
“In vol 5 yang has a talk about blake with yang and tells weiss how no one ever blamed her for anything. Miss “the innocent never run yang.” Schnee. (Btw she still never apologized to blake.)”
Disingenuious considering that they were referring to the events at the Fall Of Beacon and Weiss openly showed concern and a disinterest in Blake’s past when they found her, indicating taht she was trying to bury the hatchet.
“ Hazel’s whole motivation is that he’s mad that ozpin let his sister become a hunter and she got killed by grimm…sooooo he works for the creator of grimm.”
A bad guy having a shit reason for fighting against the good guys, probably indicative of Hazel running from his problems considering he looks and acts more and more unhinged alongside his Semblance being about BLOCKING PAIN? Wow, how unheard of!
“Salem’s dumb backstory is that she challenged the gods cause she couldn’t accept people die.”
You mean that recurring theme in mythologies or that basic human response to the cruelty of death?
“ In that same backstory she falls in a Grimm poop and it’s established that she turned “evil” yet until ozpin finds here has spent eons living in a hut not bothering anyone.”
Where was it said again that Salem never hurt anyone? Because if my memory, or you know THE RWBY WIKI ( Jinn: During his years of travel, he heard the same frightened whispers that spoke of a terrifying sorceress who commanded dark powers in the wilds among the beasts and monsters. Ozma was convinced that this witch was Salem, and decided he needed to see what she had become.) serves me correctly: Salem is never stated one way or another.
“ Regardless of all that and the fact that RT miles and kerry were asked by arksys games if they could put rwby characters in and when they asked for info they stated “read the manga”? “
Citation needed: liars don’t get the benefit of the doubt.
“They don’t give the people directions, if you listened to one panel you’d know this, they just say “go for it.” And let the manga go where it lands.”
Bitch, I have hundreds of examples of you either screwing up basic info on RWBy, being intellectually dishonest about RWBY or straight up LYING about RWBY.
You do not get to say anything without at least one source.
“ Cause they don’t care, I see people continually doing this and it’s gotta stop. Rwby was never consistent and it obviously shows, and instead of blaming properties that had to make due- why not blame the people who never bother writing anything down or expanding on lore? Rooster teeth.”
A. How many SU crits have said that EXACT same thing about Rebecca Sugar? Better start harassing her then.
B. You’re own argument has shown an inconsistency itself as you conflate ‘Miles and Kerry” with “Rooster Teeth”.
And C. You’re a known liar. You aren’t reliable in the slightest.
“ This us why so many videos like these exist fellas.”
A. That video is 70% bullshit
And B. You misspelled ‘is’. According to you, that means your arguments are invalid.
“Again you all should listen to writers commentary on the recent DVD vol, they barely remember a thing and are so dishonest to their fans for no reason. “
AKA I’m going to be as vague and inconvenient as possible so when my bullshit rebounds on me, I can dodge like Neo.
“ I’ll never understand why they choose to sabotage themselves”
Hold on, you misspelled somethings:
“ I’ll never understand why I choose to sabotage myself.”

The Subject of Penny’s Death
Tumblr media
Now we all loved Penny. Honestly she was one of my favourite characters when I started watching RWBY a year ago, and her death is one of the saddest scenes in the whole series in my opinion. So, I understood when people afterwards wanted her to return in Volume 7 with the girls coming to Atlas, due to Atlas being where she was made and having the technology to do it.
But that’s a plot point that I really hope Roosterteeth doesn’t do, and it’s because:
(1) Her death had thematic importance.
This is the first time in the series so far where the villains won. Before that, the girls in team RWBY had either won their battles or pushed it to the point where the villains had to retreat. Penny’s death was the start of the downfall, for Beacon and our heroes, but it was also the first time that they had lost as well, with Pyrrha’s death and Yang losing her arm coming shortly after.
Not only that, but it mattered so much that it had an impact on the volumes afterwards. Penny doesn’t just die and then is forgotten about, her death not only has an effect on the cast, but the plot as well. It was the catalyst for Cinder to execute her plan:
A) Expose Atlas for creating a soldier and weapon under the guise of a sweet and innocent teenage girl, and sow the seeds of distrust not only at Ironwood, but Ozpin as well given that it was his student who killed Penny in an unneeded way, at least according to the people watching.
B) Use the negativity felt by everyone in Beacon to draw in the Grimm. Cinder needed the Grimm not only to bring down Beacon along with the White Fang, but also to use it to draw away any help that could hinder her path to Amber. With Ironwood, Qrow and Glynda out of the way, she was able to not only ambush Ozpin and the others, killing Amber and getting her power, but was able to overpower the headmaster as well.
She wouldn’t have been able to do that if the rest of Oz’s circle was there as well. Bring her back and you just make that whole plot point and sacrifice worthless.
(2) It would go against Penny’s entire character.
The whole inspiration to Penny’s character was that she was an android that was created to replace humans on the battlefield, in Ironwood’s attempt to protect lives. Because of that, she was self-conscious over the fact that she was not born but instead made, and so was not a “real girl”. It was only after Ruby comforted her that she started to grow past that and feel more comfortable in who she was.
Say that Atlas decided to repair her after the fall of Beacon then. Ignoring the plot hole in how did they recover her remains in an airborne stadium surrounded by Grimm, that would just go against all the development and work Penny went through. Living, real people cannot just be brought back from the dead after they pass on, no matter how much the people who loved them might wish for. The whole episode of The Lost Fable pointed that out with Salem being unable to accept that she couldn’t get Ozma back, no matter how much she wanted to.
The whole message of bringing Penny back would not only just be that she’s not like living human people, and so death has no meaning to her, but also that she can be repaired and/or replaced if something were to happen to her, which is again a gross message to send out. Penny was a real person with thoughts and feelings, and just like a real girl, she can’t be brought back from the dead.
(3) It undermines the grief felt by the cast.
One of the strong points in Penny’s death is that it affected the cast after it happened. Obviously it affected her friends for the rest of Volume 3, with Pyrrha’s death taking over in the final episode, but it’s then affecting people for the next volumes. Jaune mentions her when he and Ruby are in Kuroyuri, Ruby is pushed to tears while talking about her in her letter to Yang, and is once again upset when telling Oscar about her and Pyrrha’s deaths in the house at Haven.
Her death wasn’t pushed aside and Ruby clearly had to grow to keep moving on. It’s a big point that separates her from Salem in fact. Where as Salem didn’t have the ability to healthily cope with Ozma’s untimely death, in which she seeked out to change that and ended up causing the series of events that are felt to this day, Ruby had learned to grieve and keep moving forward despite the devastating effect that Penny’s death had on her.
Not only that, but Penny coming back undermines the grief felt by Pyrrha. She killed someone, she was driven to tears and broke down to the point of being unable to fight back against a Nevermore, but finally picked herself back up after being comforted by Ruby and Jaune. Penny coming back would make this whole point moot, as Pyrrha didn’t really kill her then, and all of Ruby’s grieving would be a rendered unneeded because her best friend is back.
(4) It goes against the writers’ words regarding bringing back characters and muddles the turning point in RWBY’s story.
Miles and Kerry have gone and said that they had planned Penny and Pyrrha’s deaths well before Volume 3, and would not look into bringing characters back from the dead. I don’t have much to say on this point because it just... speaks for itself? No amount of #JusticeforPenny will change that.
The second point stands as well. Before the end of Volume 3, the main characters were simply learning how to fight criminals and monsters in school, with the plot often taking a more slice of life theme that is lighthearted despite the few moments of melancholy. It was a time of peace, but now it’s not with the threat of war looming over everyone. Both from Atlas fighting the other continents in paranoia and Salem’s plan picking up speed.
Penny’s death is the start of that. Yang’s attack on Mercury and frame-up sowed the seeds and started the downfall, but Penny’s death is the one to tip the scales. The effects are felt all the time afterwards. Everyone is scared and distrustful, which is what Salem wants, and her death brings all that distrust to Atlas because of what was exposed when Pyrrha killed her.
Despite their intentions being good, the technology used in the creation of Penny and was therefore exposed to the public was also the technology that was used to take Amber’s aura, effectively killing her, and give it to Pyrrha which would change her life forever.
(5) There’s a difference between what is written in fanfiction and what is written into canon material.
There are plenty of people who write this plot point of Penny coming back from the dead, or even avoiding her death altogether, but there’s a difference between that and what someone would want to see in canon. It’s similar to people who write redemption for villains; Cinder, Adam, Torchwick, ect. They would write and read about it, but they wouldn’t want that in canon because the themes wouldn’t sit well.
It cheapens the subject of death and humanity. Like second point, writing fanfiction of Penny coming back is fine because it’s not canon, it doesn’t throw themes/development/impact away. But that changes when something is made canon.
That’s all I really have to say on the subject, and just remember that this is my opinion, you can want Penny back. It’s fine and doesn’t make you wrong, but I personally really don’t want her to.
Thanks for reading, and here’s to an awesome volume this November!

RWBY - What works and what doesn’t
I enjoy watching JelloApocalypse (a popular YouTube channel) break down popular animated series, which is why I was kind of disappointed to see how much he f***ing hates RWBY.  Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him do such a scathing review of anything.  His reviews in the “so this is basically” series are brutally honest, and almost always funny, but he usually brings up at least some things he likes.  He complains about some of Gravity Falls’ flaws, then admits that he thinks it’s one of the best series of a decade.  He goes at length about how much of a pain the Rick and Morty characters are, then features an original song and animation that seems to perfectly embody what the show is about while adding its own flavor.
To be fair, though, a lot of the things he brought up in his RWBY breakdown were fair.  I just usually give the series the benefit of my doubts because of a few things:
*It’s a free series.  All you have to do is google “watch rwby,” go to the roosterteeth site, and it’s free.  You don’t have to pay.  You don’t even have to sign up *It’s not Hollywood-produced, but it’s completely original.  They do the writing, the animation, and the music themselves.  It’s not a parody, it’s a totally new thing *The creator died tragically during surgery, and it’s unclear how much about the plot and/or series direction he transferred before this unexpected event
*Spoilers*
So JelloApocalypse says some things that I agree 100% with.  The series takes you to a school, introduces you to a million characters, explores none of them, and then the school blows up.  I think the most true things he said in his video are that Ozpin doesn’t seem nearly as morally gray as they make him out to be, stealing dust seems like a kind of forgotten plot point, and “Rwby chibi” is a short series of dumb gags that somehow manages to use the cast better than the actual series.
The World-building
So Jelloapocalypse hates the music, which he describes as butt metal, and he hates the animation.  Those are actually two things I like most about the show.
Take the songs about Ruby and Weiss respectively, for example.  For the longest time, I thought these two songs and trailers told Ruby and Weiss’ story better than the show did.  Right from the beginning, it was all interesting.  The weapons were cool.  The music was good.  I think the animation improved quite a bit, but some people passionately disagree with me on that.
It’s kind of like Harry Potter means Attack on titan, and I think they mix the obvious fairy tale aspects in rather brilliantly.  It’s pretty obvious who Ruby is supposed to represent, and Pyrrha is so obvious it’s kind of on-the-nose, but did you know Ren is supposed to be the male version of Mulan?  I didn’t.  Thanks, YouTube.
The Characters
This is probably the single most important aspect of any story, and surprisingly it’s the thing I take the biggest issue with.  For a long time, I didn’t think the character development was good at all.
People seemed to like the Yellow trailer?  I’m a little surprised by that.  I just don’t think it was well-done.  The dialogue seemed awkward.  The events seemed generic, yet somehow implausible.  Most of all, though, I just felt that it wasn’t very consistent with Yang’s character.  I felt more like they were jamming in lines in the rest of the series to make the trailer fit, and not forming the trailer based on the show.
And then, as a sort of antithesis of the four trailers, the two silent and seemingly stoic characters seem young and immature while the two slightly older characters are more silent and more compelling.  The characters who do and say the least actually seem most interesting.  I find myself drawn to the side villains, instead of the single main villain of the first three volumes.  I find myself loving Jaune’s team more than Ruby’s.
All of the characters improve quite a bit, it just takes time.
The plot
So we have this pretty awesome, coherent story in volume three that we start to realize volumes one and two build up to.  It’s great.  It’s fantastic.  I still revisit it from time to time, just to remember how freaking great the show was.
Then you have four and five.  My strong opinion on that is that these two are very okay, but they don’t advance the plot a whole lot.  I would also argue that they don’t even manage to progress the characters as much as volumes three and six, in which way more actually happens.
I liked six quite a bit.  It felt like the story was really going somewhere again, maybe even toward a conclusion.  The only thing I had to say about the end is that I think the monsters, even though they’re brainless in this universe, take on sort of a personality.  Ren overcomes his old childhood monster, almost literally, in volume four.  That’s one of the single best moments of the show.  This one?  The final fight of volume six seemed strangely anti-climactic to me simply because we had no history with the monster.  To be completely honest, it seemed kind of easy.
Closing thoughts
Usually I limit these little writes to 10 or 20 minutes, and it’s been 18.  I was going to write about what I think are some pretty drastic tone shifts in the series, but instead I’m just going to say...
I think this show is good for anyone who’s interested in creative writing, as it’s a kind of dive into both what makes great writing and what makes poor writing.  It develops characters really well, and then in that same series carries out actions that develop the same characters poorly.  It shows how to do plot well, then mess it up, then pick it up and do it well again.  It shows you how to write stories and how not to write stories.
In the end, though, I’d say it’s pretty good.  It just sort of seems uneven at times, or like it’s stumbling, or like it doesn’t know exactly what it is.
It’s a web series.  And a pretty good one.  And I’m grateful that it exists.

Character Moodboard                                                                                             I made another moodboard about the significant characters in my fairy-tale, What inspiration led me to their designs and composure and objects related to the character themselves.
Crow
On the top left  would be the character named Crow or the 'Hairy fanged bastard' what Granny calls him, who based off of the wolf, the three images for him is firstly a pair of Pirate-like boots which I gave him to complement his shifty yet outgoing persona and his universally strange 'Dumb luck', an old pirate/musketeer hat with a white feather which he is always wearing and the third a small shiny derringer pistol which contrasts to his dull grey and black colour scheme and his  tall and well built form, on a bright oriental blue which is the colour that represents him all these objects also each have a story to be told by Crow.
'Red'
Down the bottom left and across the bottom of the page is 'Red' which is the name she goes by until we learn her actual name, firstly is a picture of Shyguy from Nintendo's super Mario, I based her mask and a part of her design off of him, (idk why but he just came to my head while I was designing her.) Ruby from RoosterTeeth's show RWBY(who is also loosely based off of red riding hood) mainly for her fashion style, and the colour and some inspiration for her weapon and her independence, and finally the Grim reaper I I got inspiration from its dark cold demeanor and to make her mask stand out amongst everything else.
Reece
The top right is the plan for Reece who is derived from the woodcutter who is the big brave hero in some versions of the story. But Reece is the opposite of that. Firstly I had some inspiration form the character hiccup from the first HTTYD movie, being a literal nervous wreck half the time and when he isn't you have to rely on his ideas more than his physical ability. After that I showed the Axe since he is the wood cutter, but I chose it because it is a large powerful hefty object that contrasts with Reece's light and minimal ability, and his careful but upbeat personality, and finally the third is of a mechanical arm from the Terminator, this is one of the things about Reece you wouldn’t  know until  it was right in your face, his right arm is vacant with a replacement which will impact the story.
Donna ('Granny')
The bottom right is where some of the subtle ideas for The Granny of the story, she is a mostly negative fed up grandmother who is usually cranky and irritated at everyone, except for a select few being 'Red' and her daughter (that being 'Red's mother) the first thing was her cane that she has sitting around which also doubles up as a highly modified musket style firearm being the second image, making her appear old and fragile but, she bites (probably), and finally, she has no legs, yes no legs. So I made some springy prosthetics for Donna and I got this idea from HTTYD as well, from hiccups new leg at the end of the movie, she will cause problems for our characters in the story by accident and on purpose.
'Husks'
Left center, He is where some of the stranger characters or creatures lie, 'husks', 'plague faces',  'Gremlins', ETC, they go by many names but mainly known as husks, these are the real antagonists in the story, what they are is creatures that vary in shape size and proportion and are called husks because of there empty raspy voices, black void eyes and grey distorted bodies. I got some Ideas from the Grimm, monsters from the show RWBY, and I decided to give a style from plague doctors, being the mask, large coat.
Scarlett (Reds Mother)
This is The mother of red, who will play an important role in The story, you will see two sides of her one being her usual always working motherly side, and her more lax but very tough, hard side, I based her off of the usual image of a working woman during the medieval times, but I also got some ideas from a more modern view of her hidden adventurous  strong persona, and I got this idea from the version of red and her solving her own problems, rather than needing help.

Alright, here we go.
because some people wanted it, I’m going to ramble about at least 11 of my 12 AUs {one’s just the fell version of another so not a large ramble there} in order of which I thought of them. {I also would prefer any questions about them to be sent to @the-lightest-shadow} ~Mod Feral
{My} Amalgamitetale
Excluding Asriel dying, the story to pre-Frisk is very similar. Up until Alphys tests the Determination, that is. Y’see, in this universe, the effects of Determination take a lot longer. So much so that Alphys was able to feel confidant in both letting the original subjects go and got to be part of the brainstorming that led monster to believe if every monster has Determination, maybe they can slip through the barrier.
By the time they knew the consequences, every monster that could arrive got injected with Determination. {Really, the only upside to this outcome was that there’s not an overpopulation problem anymore}. There were only 3 humans to fall between Chara and Frisk, but since the monsters don’t want to leave anymore because of their condition, they let the humans go.
Our main cast of the underground is Poltergust {mostly The Blook family}, Toxic Fuzz {mainly Toriel, Asriel, and flowers}, Bone Mass {Mostly Sans, Papyrus, and Gaster}, Double Scale {Mainly Alphys and Undyne} and Final King {Mainly Asgore. Smallest Amalgamite in size}
The AU has a lot of unnecessary atmosphere in my mind. I have shared the prototype designs a while ago here
Feraltale
My namesake and the main one I focus on. All monsters are a little more ‘monstrous’ in appearance, and a lot more instinct-based in actions. There’s a lot of little personality differences to everyone too that I’ll get more into in the comic I’m making for it. One big thing, however, is that some, like Flowey, have unexplainable abilities that they don’t actually have in the canon game.
There also were a lot of negative thoughts that humans have that have branched from the stories that became popular on the surface. Think you usual stories about monsters from before the internet, double there amount, and make a few worse.
The majority of this AU’s facts can be found both at @feral-tale-au and in the feraltale tag here
Feralfell
The fell version of Feraltale. Not too much different in main description besides, well, just that. It’s a more violent and, surprisingly, more dangerous world. I’d need to draw the designs for the characters for me to properly describe what’s different.
Pyrotale
To start off the explanation of this one, it’ll start with that it’s influenced by this song right here. I also think I’d have an easier time describing it via a pre-game story of sorts.
“Long ago, two races ruled the Earth: Humans and Monsters.
One day, war broke out between the two races. In the midst of the battle, someone discovered that monsters were more flammable than a normal creature, and the humans used that to their advantage.
Fires roaring, they managed to chase the remaining monsters underground and seal them with a powerful spell.
Many years later, the fires on the surface still burn on occasion. The world monsters once knew and that humans fought to have had changed...
Mount Ebott
Those who climb it haven’t ever returned.”
All of the fallen humans, even Chara and Frisk, had some sort of mask on to filter out the smoke and ash. In fact, it’s required children where such items on the surface. The in-game story and the monster designs are no different than with the canon for the most part. The differences come in both how you kill monsters in a Genocide route {catching them on fire and making the underground burn} and the fact you have two choices at the end of the Pure Pacifist route.
Nameless
The creative reason for the name of this AU is that “the story we are covering remains... Nameless” but the real reason, tbqh, is that I just called it my ‘Nameless AU’ so much that it stuck.
This AU runs off of the thought of “What if, for one reason or another, Frisk wasn’t the last fallen human. What if they never climbed Mount Ebott and some other child did?”
I decided that what would happen in that, without a human to show the monsters that humans can be good and caring and helpful, without a human that reminds Flowey of his conscious, when the monsters are finally freed, the planned war gets going.
It’s now 5 years after the monsters got out. Every now and then they still fight with the humans on a full-scale war. The area around Ebott has been labeled as monster country and humans avoid it when they can. Papyrus is overly emotional because his dream job isn’t what he thought, Toriel is running dangerously low on hope, and many others seem to have lost themselves.
One young adult decides to revisit their old home, despite the warnings.
Originally, I was going to have this a semi-ask blog AU, similar to AFAC, but I don’t have the energy for that.
Memorytale
This is a very simple, straightforward one to describe: “What if the ones who remember resets and the ones who didn’t flipped?”
Basically, and because of the logic this AU uses, Flowey, Frisk, and Sans don’t remember past timelines, but everyone else does. The problem? The last timeline was a Genocide one, but Frisk doesn’t remember that and is going Pacifist.
Envytale
Like with Pyrotale, this one was influenced by a song. This time it’s this song right here.
Humans who fell previously weren’t killed and just live in areas of the capital you don’t visit. Chara lived for a long time and ultimately died about 3 years before Frisk fell. Everyone grew very attached and fond of Chara and can’t help but compare Frisk to Chara.
Frisk first gets jealous, which evolves into envy, which then becomes violent rage.
This is a Genocide route only story idea that has the final boss be Asriel and not Sans, but you still fight Sans and he’s still extremely hard {just not as hard as in canon}
RWBYtale
I nice mix/crossover AU of RoosterTeeth’s RWBY and Undertale. It focuses more on a team {Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Toriel} than Frisk. Most of the main cast from Undertale that I have set to appear are Faunus, with the exceptions of Frisk, Sans, Papyrus, and Mettaton.
I mainly made this as a way to have fun thinking of weapons, outfits, and for Soriel reasons when it came to main focus, but Mod God kinda sorta started to co-own this one with me. ;;
Incomplete
This one’s title is this because “Incompletetale” just sounds weird to me and I don’t want to use a different word.
This is a Chara-focused AU based off of this song right here. After dying, Chara realizes no one can see them. They figure this has to do with the fact that their SOUL consists of two oddly sized shards. No one can see them, that is, until the second fallen child. The child saw Chara while dying and reached out. The second contact was made a strange pulse went through Chara and the child died, their Green SOUL leaving their body.
Except the SOUL was missing a shard, and the shard had been added to Chara’s.
Fast forward to Frisk falling, and Chara has forgotten who they are, because they hold the memories of the other fallen children. For Frisk and the monsters, nothing’s different for a Neutral Route. It’s the Pure Pacifist and Genocide Routes that are different. Including your final fight being a form of Chara.
For Pure Pacifist, you have The Ultimate Child Angel, a form of Chara as a result of all of the human SOUL shards reuniting with their SOULs, including the tiny, dust-sized ones of Charas that were found in the monsters. Frisk’s goal, remind Chara of who they are, allowing them to free the underground.
For Genocide, however, you have to deal with True Demon Chara, a Chara that’s the result of monster dust and SOUL fragments filling the last of their missing pieces. They remember who they are right as Frisk kills Sans, and they aren’t going to let them go through with their plan of annihilation.
Legend of Eclopp
What started out as a design only thing of me using this pony generator to make pony versions of Undertale characters became an AU.
I have a full outline in my head, but ultimately it’s just rewriting the official Undertale story to work with the MLP universe. I wish I could say more but there’s not a lot to say on this one unprovoked.
I do have the designs shared over here, though.
Stories After the Dust
This is the most WIP-y of the bunch, but it’s going to be a fanfic style AU where I take the concept of Ghost Whisperer and make it into a multi-AU story with Undertale.
Frisk is able to talk to the dead, and works very, very hard to help them. Being one of the only people who can see monster’s spirits, they get a lot of those instead of humans.
In my mind I only have the Fell one thought out completely. I’ll be able to do the other 3 {Swap, Classic, and Swapfell} after I decide who I want dead in them.
Undersight
When I first was working on this, I just wanted designs. Designs that came to me while I was listening to creepypasta or other horrors. It went from a design only one to a full AU.
Monsters have always had a rough time getting along with humans, but this is because, for some reason, monsters can only interact with humans normal if either A), they have enough humans that try to befriend them B), they have a human SOUL or C), they’re a child. The way they must interact may change with circumstance, but it’s rare when they can break that without filling the above requirements.
However, when the sealing underground happened, one of the wizards actually had a close connection with monster-kind, and, instead of using their power to put the final bit of strength to the barrier, they made a second barrier around the area of Mount Ebott. Monsters could now slip into the main area around Ebott, but not leave that. In fact, nothing could leave that area; only barrier A {the one sealing monsters in the underground for the most part} could be broken. When it breaks, so does barrier B.
Not any human SOUL can break the barrier, however. Only bright, powerful, single-colored SOULs can. These are rare. On top of that, the barriers make it to where monsters are even more limited in how to interact with humans.
When a human climbs Mount Ebott and falls underground, almost every monster goes rushing in and, depending on where the human is and what the monster’s interaction limits are, try to get the human to show their SOUL, and then decide what to do after. Some kill the humans, and some expose them to so much magic that, because they have the weaker SOUL type for humans, causes their SOUL to change shape and turn the human into a monster.
I have the designs for almost everyone made as well as a vague-a poem for this that I haven’t shared anywhere yet. Very Creepypasta-esque in atmosphere and storytelling hopefully.
There we go. That’s all of them for the time being. I hope you all enjoyed and, like I said before, please send any questions involving these AUs to @the-lightest-shadow or, if it’s Feraltale/Feralfell related, to @feral-tale-au. Thanks for reading! ~Mod Feral signing off again just in case

What is Your Story`s Soul?
Without a soul, it doesn’t matter how interesting your story`s characters, settings, world(s), or situations are. Your story will fall flat.
So what do I mean when I say “a story`s soul?” Remove the setting, the names of the characters, and most of the details of the plot of a story. What is left? The story’s soul; what the story is truly about.
Peter Docter (a director who has been involved in many of Pixar’s famous movies) gives this example of a story`s soul when describing Monsters Inc.
“A man becoming a father for the first time.”
That single sentence is so simple, yet is also so powerful! The fact that that story is being told using a setting of monsters who make a living out of scaring children easily provides conflict to make the story interesting, and the characters themselves add even more to it (as well as providing the wonderful comedy).
This concept also applies to fanfiction. I’ll provide an example using a fanfiction I’m looking forward to seeing update:  Chipped Sapphire and Brewing Hellfire by lordofire.
As far as I (the reader) can tell, this story`s soul is, "A boy who seeks to become a hero to the world, and a fallen god who comes to discover the value and beauty of the world.”
That is a soul of a story that can really draw people in. We all enjoy a good story of an aspiring hero, and that of a former villain discovering the wonders we ourselves love and enjoy. How is that story told, though? That`s where the context, the setting, and world of the story come into play. Fanfiction just makes creating all of that so much easier because most of it is already there. All the author has to do is tweak or overhaul it.
So what`s the context of Chipped Sapphire and Brewing Hellfire? What tweaks has Lordoffire made to RWBY to tell his story? The one key tweak he has made is one that only fanfiction authors would make. Jaune Arc’s soul is merged with Sauron`s. Yes, the same Sauron from Lord of the Rings. Makes you pause, doesn`t it?.
Sure, the fanfic idea sounds interesting, but without the soul of the story in mind, where is it going to go after the author manages to set it up? Without that soul of the story driving it, the story would quickly flounder.
How many stories have you encountered that seem to have such great potential, but stops before it can even get started? Why did the author stop? The idea behind the story appears so interesting. I haven`t spoken to these authors myself, so I can`t give a certain answer. However, I would be willing to bet they stopped because they didn`t know what to do with their idea. It was so fantastic when they came up with it, but it wasn`t until they started writing it out and setting it up they realized that they didn`t know what kind of story they wanted to tell, what the soul of the story using that idea was.
One fanfiction that illustrates this very well is Bound to Crimson Wings by Hysterical Clerical Hijinks. Set in a fantasy setting, Weiss gets bonded to a dragon partner, appropriately referred to as bonded, named Ruby. Read this final passage of the first chapter and tell me (again ignoring the grammatical errors) that you wouldn`t be interested in reading more.
Meanwhile Weiss was staring down her own Dragon, but not nearly as calmly as Blake. Despite having gotten the attention of the smaller of the two, Weiss was not reassured.
The larger dragon was far less intimidating.
It glided toward her, each step startlingly silent. It was moving very quickly, deceptively swift and snakelike. Weiss felt her pulse pick as it approached, looking dark and dreadful. She fought to retreat, to simply flee in the other direction from the predator in front of her.
Eventually it was right next to her, and Weiss could feel the cold sweat dripping down her forehead. She was pretty sure that even if she did want to flee, her body wouldn`t follow her orders anymore. The Dragon`s face lowered to face Weiss, warm breath puffing over Weiss. She gulped, staring at the deadly looking teeth. She looked up, dread pooling her stomach, and stared into a pair of large, slitted silver eyes…
Then it licked her.
Right in the face.
Weiss was stunned into unfeeling silence, drool dripping down her face and her fringe stuck in the air, unable to comprehend that said Dragon had just breezed past her mental shields.
‘My name`s Ruby and we`re going to be the best Bonded ever~!’ She exclaimed cheerfully unto Weiss` mind. Her voice was young girl`s, mid teens at most if Weiss was to guess. It was incredibly chirpy. She was getting heavy sensations of pridejoypridefriendhappinessjoyteamfriendteam. Coupled with gleeful silver eyes, and a massive wagging tail.
This wasn`t a Dragon, it was the biggest puppy on Remnant.
Weiss could feel her headache coming back with a vengeance already.
And that was only a part of the whole chapter. The idea of Ruby being a puppy in the body of a lethal, terrifying dragon on top of being Weiss`s partner is such a wonderful idea full of potential, and Hysterical Clerical Hijinks writes this story very well. There`s just one major heartbreaker about this story.
That first chapter is currently [December 11th, 2017] the only chapter, and it was posted January 28th, 2015. At this point, it is in the unofficial hiatus hell.
How could Hysterical Clerical Hijinks do this? Why would he begin such a wonderful story, only to stop at the very beginning just as we`re all hooked? If we were to message him, I`d imagine his reply would be along the lines of “I didn`t know what to do with it.”
Yes, he had an amazing setting. Yes, his writing was good. he even did an excellent job of staying true to the RWBY characters he was recreating for his story. His problem came from lacking an actual story to tell with all of that. His stories lacked a driving soul.
Knowing the soul of a story greatly helps in giving the author direction; even if the creative juices have ceased to flow for a bit, and the possibilities offered by the setting have run out. Wondering what to do next in the story? Look at the soul of the story, throw a wrench of some sort at it, and write out experience the protagonists have, while maintaining the integrity of their setting, as they try to deal with the conflict and stay true to their soul.
For example, let's look at Bound to Crimson Wings again, give it a few different souls, and then throw some wrenches at them.
“A girl, isolated in her home for her whole life, seeks companionship.” Some wrenches to throw at this? Her teammate is an enemy of her family. Her bonded is so different from her. A situation arises that demands she returns home.
“Two girls, running from their own pasts and prisons of a home, seek to better the world.” Some wrenches to throw at this? One of their homes is in danger, and they have the option of returning to save/protect it. One or both of their pasts threaten their current life/lives unless they abandon it to return. One or both of their pasts pose a threat to the world, and they are capable of doing something to stop it/them.
These wrenches allow the author to create the conflicts that bring readers in. Even if encountering a writer’s block, or just simply not knowing where to go next with the story, the story’s soul can allow the author to figure out where to go next. Of course, the author should also realize when to simply allow the story to be done. If there are no more potential conflicts, no more viable wrenches to throw at the soul of the story, then the story needs to be brought to a close.
Luckily, if the story is well thought out, there may be multiple “souls” operating within a single story that can allow multiple wrenches to be thrown at it.
How can a story have more than one soul? Wouldn’t they conflict with each other? Not necessarily. A good story should be a lot like real life. Every character that shows up, from nameless background people to the main protagonist, has their own story, and those stories have their own soul.
When telling a story, however, the author should pick a “dominant” soul, and allow all the other souls involved to support it. If a particular soul does not support the “dominant” soul, then the author should not bother revealing it more than necessary.
For example, in the video game Mass Effect II, there is a mission you can perform for a crewmate of yours, Thane Krios, who wants to stop his son from walking the path of an assassin like he has. The story for the mission is a good one, but there is a soul that really shines out in it that is never explored: that of Captain Bailey, the Citadel Security officer who acts as a supporting role in the mission. It is never specifically spoken, but you can see and hear, in almost every word spoken by the captain, that he feels a personal connection to this mission. Perhaps the most notable can be found on TVTropes’ page of Mass Effect II quotes:
"You think he's [Thane] the only man who's ever messed up raising a son?"
Even for those who are not experienced at reading between the lines can tell that Captain Bailey bears a personal tragedy on his shoulders whenever he speaks about Thane trying to save his son.
So why is this soul not explored? Because the soul of the story for Captain Bailey and his son does not pertain to the dominant soul of Mass Effect II: Commander Shepard seeking to save the galaxy his (the player’s) way. As interesting as that story would be, it would be unnecessary baggage that would have bogged down the game. So, it had to be left out.
With that example of a soul that does not support the “dominant” soul of a story out of the way, how about an example of a soul that does support the “dominant” soul?
For the official RWBY anime by Roosterteeth, I believe the “dominant” soul can be identified as “four girls who seek to make the world a better place.” (Please correct me if you think that’s wrong or inaccurate).
Each of the souls for the members of the primary cast, the members of team RWBY, are able to support this soul. For Weiss Schnee and Blake Belladonna, they practically state the souls for their stories in Episode 25 of Season 2, Search and Destroy, and Episode 26 of Volume 2, Mountain Glenn; and Ruby Rose states hers in Episode 3 of Volume 1, The Shining Beacon, Pt 2. For Ruby’s soul, it is the most reflective of the show (which, I suspect, is why she is the first character to be introduced in it): “A girl who seeks to fight for what’s right and those who can’t protect themselves” (see transcript for episode 3, Volume 1: The Shining Beacon, Pt. 2) For Weiss, her’s is: “A girl who seeks to redeem her family name.” For Blake, its: “A girl who seeks to fight for equality and justice.”
Now, upon reading those souls, one might be inclined to think, “these all sound more like the character’s motives than their stories’ souls.” This is mostly because their motives help shape and create their souls. Because of that, they can be easily confused to the point where they can be used interchangeably. However, by examining the final member of team RWBY, Yang Xiao Long, we can identify the difference between a character’s motive and the soul for their story.
Yang’s surface motives, the ones that govern her personal and outside actions, are many. In Search and Destroy, Yang states that she wants to live a life of adventure “not knowing what tomorrow will bring.” However, in episode 21 of Season 2, Extracurricular, Yang reveals that she is still looking for her mother who left her shortly after she was born. While these motives do shape the soul of her story, the actual soul of her story is quite different. Thus far [December 11th, 2017] it can be identified as this: “A big sister who seeks to be present when those she loves are in need.”
All of those souls are not only compatible with the dominant soul of RWBY, they also support it. Thus, by exploring these souls, the author, Roosterteeth (following the death of Monty Oum), also explores the soul of RWBY. There are bound to be many more potential souls within the world of RWBY, but if they are to be explored, they must be done so outside of this anime series in order to prevent the bogging down of any of the souls involved.
So much more can be said about the soul of a story, and I’m certain that much has already been said about it (just in different words). However, I hope that upon reading this; you will at least be much more aware of this concept, and be able to fill the world with even greater stories than before.
Also, I have a separate post that links to a list of potential souls that I have collected. If you’re interested or are just looking for a few writing prompt ideas, follow this link to check it out. Please message me if you have any ideas for potential souls that I have not already included on my list as well as (if you can) the sources of inspiration you got the souls from.

#RWBYAC Day 9: Character 10 years in the future While I have tons of future AU ideas, they're sort of bland and domestic, I guess. Characters getting married and reproducing, finding work that lets them continue fighting monsters and terrorist while still being present for their spouses and families. I also don't have many specific events happening exactly 10 years after what's going on in canon (everyone is 18-19 except Ruby who is 16, probably close to 17 at the end of Vol. 6) More practical outfits, simpler hairdos, sprinkle in a few kids. Cute, but not that interesting. And then there's Cinder. I really dislike her as a character. That calm, imperious façade of hers is just grating, and we still don't have enough backstory to explain why she's so damn vicious, so her whole schtick has just gotten old. I stopped finding her interesting in Volume 6. But she's definitely tenacious, so I thought I'd draw her after 10 more years of getting into wild scrapes that really should have killed her. 😂 In addition to her Grimm arm, Cinder has lost her right hand and leg, her *head*, and a nifty chunk of her torso (ever seen Death Becomes Her?), and she's gotten a cool replacement robo eye. She's still the Fall Maiden, though, and she'll still mess you up without hesitation even though she has to carry her head around in a Futurama jar. 🙃 @roosterteeth pls make this happen in Volume 20 or whatever #bevcantdraw #rwby #rwbyartchallenge2019 #rwbyartchallenge #rwbyfanart #cinderfall #rwbycinder #cinderrwby #rwbygrimm #rwbyfunny #rwbyshitpost #rwbycomic #futurama #rwbyau #rwbyheadcanon #drawing #art #pencildrawing #pencilsketch #traditionalart https://www.instagram.com/p/By5kKF0j6NI/?igshid=cz3z82nao66h

What's RWBYtale? It sounds cool!
Oh, wow. I’m gonna be honest, I wasn’t actually expecting anyone to ask. Especially about that one, but here goes {There will be a lot of typing because so far nothing about this has been shared, and I wanna see if maybe people will actually want to see things with it, y’know?}:
RWBYtale, as it’s name suggests, is a cross-over-esque AU with RoosterTeeth’s RWBY. As a result, there aren’t monsters, but each monster character is a fitting RWBY species {Which basically means most are Faunus}. The AU has almost become a collab piece between me and @marine-c-jones, who’s helped me think of a few things and come up with things themself.
While in the story, Frisk is not the main focus. They become prevalent, but our main focus is the main group of four: Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, and Toriel. We also see a decent amount of Alphys and Mettaton, with the other two of their team being Bratty and Catty.
How the cast is so far:
Sans: Human. Weapon Craftsman. Like in Undertale canon, Sans is more on the lazy side, but manages to always defeat Grimm with ease. He’s one of the older two in his team, and the one who had to remind the more hyperactive ones that a team needs 4. His main weapon is a dagger/laser gun combo. He also helped design Papyrus’ and Undyne’s weapon. And a run-on gag if the AU had a series. Semblance allows him to teleport, but only to somewhere he can see, and only once every 6 hours or so, so he doesn’t abuse this power.
Papyrus: Human. Papyrus is capable of a quick-time strategy and dodges with relative ease. The only type of enemy he has no issue attacking is Grimm, because they run on instinct alone, and you can’t get through to them. He’s tried in the past. His weapon of choice is dual swords, that also have the ability to turn into lasers, he just uses his lasers much, much more scarcely than Sans. His Semblance remains unknown.
Undyne: Fish Faunus. Visible fins. Despite being besties with Papyrus, she has a habit of saying some pretty bigotry things about pretty much anything that isn’t a Faunus. Strong in battle and fast, she only really needs to work on her people skills. She also is begging for a long-ranged weapon but no one will give her one. Her weapon’s a spear/taser combo that has a non-conducting chain on it, and has been proven to be effective and destructive enough. Her Semblance seems to have something to do with increasing her already high level power, but no one’s seen it in action.
Toriel: Goat Faunus. Goat-like ears. The team member they managed to find last-minute, she’s surprisingly kind and wise. The other one who’s older, she has managed to get her way in as the much-needed strategist. Her weapon’s only known function is a flamethrower {meaning neither of us two have thought of what else it can be} Her Semblance
Frisk: Human. Just a child. They somehow managed to make it through a forest to the Hunter’s School by themself. They seem pretty dead-set on staying in the school and have been forced to be watched by our main team. They’re weapon’s a battle baton that they’ve made look like a stick that open’s up into a gun. Their Semblance remains unseen, but they can heal any of their wounds, as long as they remain still.
Alphys: Lizard Faunus. Visible tail. She’s also a bit of a weapon’s craftsman herself, with her weapons being a little less straight-forward with their design. Very much has a thing for Undyne, but isn’t sure if she’s allowed to date someone from another team or not. Weapon and Semblance remain unknown.
Mettaton: Robot. Appears human. Created by Alphys as a much-needed fourth team member, Mettaton has a personality and intelligence similar to what Penny’s was, except more-so. He is currently #1 target to Undyne’s bigotry. No weapon needed because he is one {gun arm} and it’s unknown if robots even get Semblances in RWBY, so that remains non existent.
All I’ve decided on Bratty and Catty is they’re Faunus of their creatures: Gator for Bratty {I’m thinking scale patches} and Cat for Catty {Ears, definitely}
This ended up being long, but if you have any more questions on either this AU or the others on my list, feel free to ask. :>
