contrary to popular belief i actively avoid that man in the game, he terrifies me. one time i joined a random squad in the party finder doing daily bounties and felt every vein in my body freeze when i realised who was leading it. he revived me when i died we had a very cool map chat convo of 'ty' 'np :)' and then i panicked and left FNSKCHEJCHD

fr tho nobody bother him on gw2 or anywhere else you might run into him. he makes it painfully obvious who he is cause he can't choose an anonymous username to save his life but there was a time where people would actively stalk him in-game and i feel so bad about it even though i wasn't a part of that at all. i DID get accused of it though and i'm still mad about it lmao

bit TMI but. i am an advocate for recovery so! i think it is important to talk about mental health things

i've talked about how i'm in an IOP right now, but not the specifics i don't think. it's an ERP (exposure therapy) program. which essentially means that i trigger myself on purpose multiple times a day (planned and discussed ahead of time) and i keep track of my distress level. the idea is that you have like an arbitrary number. say, distress of 70 points. and as you habituate to the triggering situation, these points will decrease. when you reach "half" (whatever that means for the individual) you are allowed to stop the exposure, as it is considered successful. although some are also day-long or activity-long

right now, for example, i'm doing an OCD contamination exposure where i played tug of war with my dogs (so i now have gross dog saliva on my hands) and i'm trying to go about my day at work without washing my hands even one time. so i have to touch my phone, eat, etc. - record the highest level of distress - and how long it takes for me to habituate. highest so far has been 74. hovering around a 70 right now after 15 minutes. goal would be around the 35-40 range.

anyway. for some reason it did not occur to me that being triggered, even if controlled, is going to have effects on my body. my shoulders have been in excruciating pain the last couple of days because my body locks up during intense exposures. my menstrual cycle is abnormal because my body is undergoing so much stress that it's like "hey maybe we don't need to be losing a lot of blood right now." and i've also had quite a few stress nightmares

like it makes sense but it's also like. ohhhhh. yeah. that'll happen.

so if you go through an intensive ERP program like this, make sure that you are taking care of yourself. lots of water, stretching, warm showers or baths. if you have someone who is willing to massage out aches in your shoulders or neck. i've been using a heating pad and that's a godsend

like. be very kind to yourself. because it's physically difficult work, too. not just psychological

Katsuki Bakugou certainly has the god complex for a Healer, and he's believable as a big numbers DPS, but given his penchant for taunting, instinctive battle strategizing, insistence on leading his party from out in front, propensity for taking hits for others, and physical advantage in wars of attrition, I declare Katsuki Bakugou is in fact a Tank main (who had an annoying Machinist phase on the side at some point because artillery explosions go brrrrrrrrrrr).

Aesthetically, we all know Katsuki's going for a male Au Ra Dark Knight or Reaper. Gunbreaker is a permissible alternative. It's hard to choose anything but Dark Knight for him given the Living Dead ability where dying literally makes him invulnerable. 😂 And he'd spend any duty bossing the healers around so they don't fuck with his skill set.

That said, given the breadth of his character development, it seems by the time he reaches his second year of high school Katsuki will dabble in Paladin and become a reliable carry and support.

Play style? Katsuki plays PvP guaranteed. And he races for worldwide first clear of newly released Ultimates. Whatever is the most competitive shit, Katsuki's doing it and kicking ass (unlike me, as I'm a filthy casual who doesn't really know what I'm talking about even by saying this much).

Katsuki eventually gets into Fisher after he discovers he's a masochist.

There are some who see this unified realm as a way to power or riches. As a way to climb their way up the our. And less even that remember their ancestors oaths to Aegon the Conquer that remembered the way they bent the knew that decided loyalty to their oaths were the way. But as the realm bickers and worries about who wins and loses something other awakens.

Aegon’s dream is coming quicker than he realized. And it’s not meeting a realm pacified and used to bending the knee to a King. It’s meeting a realm separated by religion, hatred, and power plays. It’s meeting a realm weakened and it’s meeting a realm ripe for attack. Will this Kingdom survive the long night or buckle under the weight of the apocalypse?

I am reminded of Aeryn Sun and John Crichton having a baby in Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars. The miniseries Farscape fans nagged the Sci-fi Channel into producing in lieu of a Season 5, when Farscape got cancelled at the end of Season 4, on a cliffhanger!

The miniseries was…uneven. But Aeryn very inconveniently going into labour in the middle of a battle was awesome. And her idiot human from a planet called Erp was right there alongside her. Aeryn, of course, was such a badass she shot a very large gun at their attackers in between contractions. Might as well make herself useful when she wasn’t actively out of commission.

I can’t remember if John shot at them too when he wasn’t helping Aeryn through contractions. it’s been years since I’ve watched the miniseries. I’m sure he shot at people too, I just don’t have specific memories. By Season 4, he was pretty nervy from the PTSD, but he’d developed excellent aim. Despite being a huge science nerd who’d only learned to shoot in Season 1 because people were shooting at him first.

Aeryn was fascist space military born and bred, only ended up on the run from her former masters in 1.01 after unwisely showing a tiny smidgen of compassion towards a prisoner she’d (correctly) assessed as helpless. In 1.01, John had a PhD in aeronautics and a geeky obsession with American pop culture before he got sucked through a wormhole into another galaxy where everybody and their mom wanted him dead. He had to learn fast to survive.

But I distinctly remember Aeryn laying down efficient suppressive fire whenever she wasn’t either in the middle of a contraction or in the immediate aftermath of a contraction. And John helping her into a fountain which was serving as an impromptu birthing pool. The battle was happening in a city, hence the fountain being available.

In retrospect, the scene is wildly improbable. But ALL of Farscape was wildly improbable. This scene was wildly improbable in a way that seemed true to the characters. We had 4 years of Aeryn and John being on again, off again, with the occasional devastating tragedy befalling them. The fans DESERVED an ending to the series where John helped Aeryn through labour in the middle of a battle. And somehow neither of them nor their newborn got hit by a stray bullet.

Also, damn right the baby’s surname, after the battle, ended up being Sun-Crichton, not just Crichton. And Aeryn’s surname went first, because of course it did. She wouldn’t have stood for anything less, and John sure as hell wasn’t going to pick a fight over it. They were equal partners. Not such a big deal now, a bigger deal in 2004.

I can’t believe it’s 2023 and the show wrapped up nearly 2 decades ago. It started in 1999. I’m an old and ancient crone now! Also, I need to dig out my DVDs and do a rewatch. It’s been too long.

battle couples has gotta be one of my favorite tropes though. The “you got me?” “Yeah, I got you.” The kiss for good luck. Fighting alongside each other for so long they know every strength and weakness. The dichotomy of being fucking terrifying to their enemies, but so soft with each other. When one is in danger and the other goes feral, protects them at any cost. When everything is over and done, it’s all “let me see where you’re hurt,” and washing off the dirt and blood.

Hades is probably one of my favorite muses. A man doomed to have Hellfire inside him after a desperate attempt to escape the grasp of Heaven, he fights against them to end the crimes he knows they commit.

To Heaven, he’s a traitor.

To the Abominations he’s saved, he’s a hero.

Hades himself is part of a broader universe I’ve built up, involving angels and demons and beings called “Abominations” (science experiments, many of which are mindless weapons and won’t live long because their bodies can’t handle it).

Due to the power Heaven has over angels, Hades had to burn off his own wings with Hellfire to ensure they’d never grow back. However, Hellfire is volatile and difficult to control. It ended up inside of him, constantly burning. Over the years, he’s gotten better at controlling it and being able to use it as a weapon. Sometimes it does act up, though. More than once he’s burned a lover’s clothing and skin because he got worked up, and all of his clothes are specially made with magic so they will be immune to his flames.

The prettiest side effect is likely in his hair, which is forever in shades of orange and red that grow brighter and hotter with his emotions. If needed, he will use illusory magic to hide the bright hues, but he’s quite fond of them and prefers to let them show. It makes him eye catching…ensuring those working under him are harder to notice when they come up from behind.

Hades’ Team:

Phobos - a Nightmare who fights with specially crafted metallic claws on his fingers. He’s the quietest and the tallest of the team. Thanks to the nature of his true form, he possesses the ability to teleport to dark areas and manipulate shadows.

Deimos - Phobos’ older twin brother. Due to being Nightmares, they no longer look alike because of the illusory forms they chose. Deimos is fierce in battle with an unexpected rage. No one has seen his true form aside from Hades, Dawn, and his brothers due to how sensitive he is about it.

Dawn - an Abomination rescued by Hades. He was once a Guardian Angel who died in an “indescribably gruesome way,” though, like all angels, he doesn’t remember how. While his toxic wings (which are harmful even to him) would make an excellent combat weapon, Dawn does not participate in battle. He’s living his cottagecore life and using white magic to help the team as needed.

Pluto - Hades’ unofficial brother. He still works in Heaven as a Guardian Angel, but gets whatever information he can to Hades. He has offered to leave Heaven, but Hades doesn’t want him to have to suffer the removal of his wings until he absolutely has to.

Cerberus - an abomination created by merging the bodies of three werewolves. While Hades was able to remove enough to leave just one body behind, Cerberus sometimes still hears the other wolves in his head. He is fiercely loyal to Hades, but Hades wants him to also have a chance at enjoying life.

Eros - Eros was likely the second most powerful member of the team. An incubus and the adoptive brother of Phobos and Deimos, he can best be described as “despicable and uncaring.” He is cruel to his brothers, killed Dawn in two lifetimes, and used black magic to rip off Pluto’s wing (forcing him to get a prosthetic due to the poisoning of the magic) in an attempt to plunge Heaven and Hell into an all out war. After the attack on Pluto, Hades fired him and told him never to return.

Roleplaying with living folks is way more satisfying than Character.Ai, but it also makes you way more vulnerable to drama, internet wars and people who try to convince minors to ERP (It happened to me when i was 16).

So, i feel like i need to give some advice to people who are just starting to roleplay:

- Stay away from ERP if you're a minor, ESPECIALLY if you don't 100% know whether the person behind your screen is in tour same age range;

- Don't share your personal information easily: many fandoms are filled with queerphobes, racists and ableists, especially bigger ones like MLP (I've witnessed the extreme transphobia from that fandom myself), and the less they know about your identity, the better: remember, you're there to roleplay, not to look for your next life coach;

- Look into Dungeons & Dragons: it's WAY harder and slower to master than regular roleplay, but it's a good way to create a small but solid community that can count on a lot of resources and support, both on the Internet and IRL;

- If your fandom is very niche, chances are there will be no servers available for you. Do not fret! You can always make one with your friends (You can also make a bot with Character.Ai, but that's beside the point)! Even if your friends don't know the source you're roleplaying from, if they're friendly enough they might engage in roleplaying anyways;

- Roleplay on your own. I'm serious about this. Make a private server with Tupperbox/Pluralkit (although i personally suggest Tupperbox, it's way easier and doesn't have extra features that are useful just for systems, we haven't even finished setting up PK /lh) and go ham. Make your own crossovers, lose yourself in your scenes and take inspiration from the media you like to transform it into something magical.

The idea of this blog is that the raptor den (a sort of shared consciousness of most of the characters I create interacting and exploring different realities. No ERP or NSFW

If you are here because I reblogged one of your posts it means that the raptors have stumbled into your character.

I’m also open to people asking the raptor’s questions

Lastly there will be starter situations for when other characters find the raptors if you are interested in having your character hang out with them

The different raptors

Raptor - the first raptor to join the den

Peacemaker - from an rp I did with a friend, created peace between 2 warring factions

The general- same as peacemaker but from a reality where the war never ended

Communicator- a diplomat, does most of the talking with new people

The director- a leader from a scp like foundation that deals with online anomalies

The engineer- from a fantasy world I made. He’s incredibly smart and good at building things

Warrior- from a dungeon crawler game I’m playing. Has a robotic arm and wields a short sword

They can all move on their own but when they move outside the main body they have a slight glow and there is a glowing rope connecting them to the main body so they can’t make it farther than a couple feet

Bits of the different characters will flicker through the main form but the main body that people see is the version of the raptor from their reality which is usually either the one in my profile or the one on my main blog

If there isn’t a raptor from their reality they just see a glowing person that switches between different people depending on who is talking

More characters might be added over time

The raptors know I exist and can/will try to contact me but I usually ignore them
