Current fandom pet peeve is the widespread misconception and use of the word deadpan. It's not a tone of voice; it's a style of delivery used for humor; it's a type of joke. Anyway, driving me nuts how many authors are using deadpan when they actually mean flat or nonplussed.

No thoughts, head empty, just Mitsuba expressing one of the most basic human desires. No matter how many times people try to tell me that his feelings are manufactured or that he’s inherently evil, I will never buy it nor will it ever be true within a canon context. Cool concept for an au I guess but canon Mitsuba is extremely emotional and empathetic and is one of the more redeemable ones in a series full of morally gray characters. Him being sassy and struggling with dark thoughts does not make him a bad person idk what some fans are on about

Watching House, you just have to accept that sometimes the writers will make him act gross and slightly out of character.
1; because of the times, and 2; likely because the writers have their own weird fetish about it 🙄🙄
#specifically the episodes of him interacting with a teenage girl#house has been shown that he very specifically thinks that teenagers are stupid and he’s not attracted to them#he ALWAYS opts for the older woman; around his age#even with cameron; he didn’t go for her#so WHY are there random af episodes where suddenly this teenager who is flirting with him is soooo hot and tempting#they even use ‘jailbait’ a lot 🙄🙄🤢#almost everything he does is out of a place of sarcasm or not taking anything seriously; or even as a political/social commentary#the intersex episode specifically is less him being weird and more a social commentary and explicitly pointing out how absurd & weird it is#so WHY the FUCK did they suddenly write him like *that*#like; he’s not just flattered. I'm not done listening to the Alex Hirsch interviews but god it just reminds me both of how much I miss this show and how much I appreciate the love and care that went into it. I love listening to him talk about the characters with a frankness and care that shows how much he values them being three dimensional beings.

Had THE funniest dream last night
#i was roommates with this couple who for some reason decided they were going to bone directly outside the house#like on the front porch more or less#except they were really worried about being seen? so i was kind of keeping a lookout for them#pretty much as soon as they.. began; a legolas cosplayer appeared complete with a camera crew#OH THAT WAS THE THING! my roommates were filming themselves but it was just on a mounted tripod#so i just opened the window and said ‘uhhh do you guys have a camera crew?’ and they looked around and screamed#had to run inside naked from the waist down. i was laughing and laughing#for some reason my next move was to post about this on tumblr but it got no notes and i was impatient so i posted about it on facebook#and TONS of people liked it immediately and then were sharing it and long story short it went viral#and there were random people in the comments saying like ‘oh this is so obviously fake’ and ‘why does she sound so unconcerned?’#because why would i be concerned?? gay sex is legal.. having it where other people can see isn’t exactly legal but they got inside quickly#and the legolas cosplayer and his camera crew didn’t exactly seem traumatised. they just looked confused if anything#also i’d written it in kind of a sarcastic and funny tone to be entertaining because it was honestly an absurd situation#why i would’ve posted this to FACEBOOK where most of my friends are my elderly relatives; ex-coworkers and high school people i don’t know#anyway that was my dream. two guys i vaguely know had four-second sex on my front porch; saw a legolas cosplayer; screamed and ran inside#OH and the other part of my dream was one of my mutuals on here (who i have only spoken to via prev tags) for some reason had my mobile#number and kept trying to call me#i had them in my phone just as their tumblr url even though they have a name and i know it? and for some reason i kept panicking#and rejecting the call and then coming up with spurious reasons for doing so#even though this person was extremely chill about it and was like ‘oh we can just talk another time!’#it made NO sense. i would absolutely speak to this person on the phone if i got the chance#but also why would i give them my number? and why would they be calling me from the states??#anyway. if you need me i’m going to make breakfast and go to pilates#personal

My favourite character is Qingzu. And the Yanqing—birds... parallelism? which I love. What a soft lovely man he is haha#Truly they did his character a disservice with the imposing general voice in the English dub#It's almost worth playing in Chinese for that alone#Jing Yuan#I talk too much#I can't believe he got scammed into buying a lion because he thought he was buying something small#He truly is one of those extremely stupid highly intelligent people‚ eh?#I couldn't love him more haha I find him so funny and endearing#He seems to have stopped because the cat was small and cute and he thought no one was going to buy it at first too?#He is really adorable and I can't stop thinking about Yanqing in this context
