Aro Jon who gets, like, occasional fixations on other peo-ple where he thinks about them all the time, figuring "well that's probably a crush," and sort of, consciously doubles down (because that's what you do with crushes right??). Like he has a lot of emotional investment in these people and he thinks about them and sometimes even tries to talk to them because that's what you do when you have a crush. Who is taken off-guard literally every time any of those people want to kiss him or hold hands or go on dates. And it's not that he doesn't know kissing or hand-holding or romance or whatever aren't part of crushes and relationships it's just he's mysteriously never been particularly interested in those parts so he doesn't think about them until suddenly his "crush" brings them up. Like they're some vague thing that future Jon will do but why is current Jon expected to think about them? Current Jon isn't in any relationship. And maybe he does end up hearing the term "aromantic" but he thinks -"well that can't be me because I have crushes. I have crushes all the time." Does this make sense? Do you see my vision?
(Also my cat walked across the keyboard as I was writing this to add two small dashes and I'm leaving them in because I think it's funny)

All desire for gentleness goes out the window I guarantee it
#the reason I love gomens and the flag of death (keeping my lunacy out of the maintags like a boss) is because it is gentle. and kind#and the reason why I avoid shows like the heart stopping one is because I do not need a story of realized queerness and the sudden frenzied#passion that comes with it is because I love a story about love. not just queer sexuality for its own sake (that sounds worse than I meant)#BUT HANNIBAL CAN BE BOTH!!!#because it’s about love and becoming and the metaphor for sexuality is becoming a monster and Other#BECAUSE WHAT GAY PERSON HASNT FELT LIKE THIS WHEN THEY REALIZE HOW FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT THEY ARE!!!!!?!!!?!#and it is passionate but it has a gentleness that matches my other old queers in love shows#crazy of me to say but I think the lack of sex scenes in HANNIBAL ENHANCES THE PASSION IN A WAY IT DOESNT FOR TEEN DRAMAS.#teen dramas are v important too but there has to be more than being queer and in love than that yknow?#and that’s really all a lot of straight people see gay men as which is sad#it’s based on a stereotype that while true in some instances has definitely dehumanized gay men in their eyes#not to say sex is bad because it’s not!!!!!!#it’s wonderful!!!! but it doesn’t have to be a pageant every time in every show depicting young hot gay men#I lost my thread goddamn.#tldr; I love my gentle shows depicting queer love stories earnestly… but I love passion IN A VIOLENT FORMAT#that’s how I felt as a kid trying to find my footing yknow???

Yes! The ways the mechs and mcyt handle narrative have always been so similar to me but I've never been able to put it onto words. Would Love to hear what you have to say on the topic (after you have had a good sleep)
HI, it's time for me to get insane. Thank you for sending this ask cause now I have an excuse to maintag the post, lol. Also, I'm going to be using the term MCYT interchangeably with MCRP (Minecraft roleplay) for my own sanity. You'll know what I mean from context clues, I think.
So, hi, anyone who doesn't know about The Mechanisms. This post is going to be about some meta analysis tools that popped up in the Mechs fandom when it exploded in popularity back in 2020-2021. Due to the nature of both the Mechs and MCYT (which I'll get into in a moment), these concepts are generally very helpful for meta analysis of MCYT as well, and I think you guys would love them.
First of all, what was The Mechanisms?
The Mechanisms, originally known as Dr. Carmilla and The Mechanisms, was a band that formed in the late 2000s. It had a rotating cast of members, though most of the stuff you can easily find from them (such as their albums) was made when they had 8-9 consistent members. The Mechanisms officially released seven albums and one single before the band broke up in early 2020. The reason this band is similar at all to MCYT comes from a few things- the characters the band played, the stories the band told, and the archival aspect/age.
Because the Mechs were not a regular band, it was also a storytelling experience. Each Mechs album tells it's own self contained story (except for the Tales to be Told albums, which feature songs with their own stories that don't tie into the album at large). But furthermore, each Mechanism is a character. All the members of the band had characters they played, acting as a band of immortal space pirates moving through the galaxy on their ship, The Aurora.
The similarity to MCYT here is, of course, the characters. It's not always as simple to tell the difference between MCYT characters and actors as it was with The Mechanisms, seeing as (a lot of) MCYT doesn't start with the acting/roleplaying intention that the Mechs started with. But nonetheless, they share the understanding that even though this isn't a play or a TV show or whatever scripted medium, and that even though these characters (sometimes) share similar/the same names as their creators, they are, ultimately, characters the creators are putting on in order to tell a story. Whether that story is something more connected to the base characters (less roleplay heavy servers, Mechs backstory beats) or a story where the characters themselves are filling a role to tell a new story (more roleplay heavy servers, Mechs filling in for characters on the albums to tell their stories), there is always a story to be told.
There is also, as I said, the archival aspect. Archiving is massively important to both The Mechanisms and MCYT. It's definitely a lot harder with the Mechs than with most MCYT stuff, since the Mechs are a whole lot nicher, but that is not to say it's easy for either group. Archiving is vital to keeping both fanbases, and both sets of characters, alive, and there is only so much archiving you can rely on the creators of either to do. Those of you who take this task on are genuinely so awesome and I love you.
Alongside the archiving aspect (and as such, the lost media aspect), there's also the age of the Mechanisms, and (similarly to MCYT), the large number of people involved in the project, which results in lost and oftentimes conflicting canon beats. Mechs lore was not a strict, planned out thing. Large swaths of it were made up on the fly or forgotten down the line and rewritten or just made to work because the story needed it. As such, a lot of Mechanisms meta analysis had to reckon with the fact that the story was often telling you two or three or more things that could not be true at once nonetheless were, or was telling you something with the assumption that you knew something else, but that something else is now impossible to track down. So, sometimes, you just had to pick and choose, or try to reconstruct that lost knowledge. Similarly, varying POVs and gaps in time or gaps in story result in a similar concept for MCYT analysis- sometimes it doesn't really work if you take every piece of lore into account, so you just can't, even though every piece of lore is equally canon; or sometimes, a specific source is lost and you have to trust the memory of people who saw or were involved in the source instead.
Now, what is narratomancy? And how is it relevant to meta analysis of MCYT?
Narratomancy is the name for a few concepts of meta analysis that popped up when the Mechs fandom exploded in 2020-2021. The term was coined by @lucky-sevens (who, unlike anyone else I bring up in this post, I feel comfortable tagging because they're inactive, lol, so this won't clog their notifs), but the credit for various concepts under the umbrella of narratomancy can go to a ton of people. Personally, I'm going to be heavily referencing one post in particular by @/gunpowderedtim when it comes to the four main pillars of narratomancy, and how they are relevant here. (BTW I know OP of that post has shifted at least a bit to the MCYT fandom as well, so if you see this and would like me to tag you properly, please let me know!)
(EDIT: I was informed in the replies that lucky-sevens did not, in fact, coin this phrase, but they can't remember who specifically did. Alas another Mechs thing lost to time.)
Narratomancy refers to the general concept of the narrative as a thing within the Mechs universe. The narrative, a story that wants to be told, is an (at least semi) sentient creature that is bending the universe to its will in order to be told. This living narrative helps to explain and work through some of the problems or plot holes in the narrative, and understanding this helps a lot for meta analysis, or even just understanding the story. As stated above, I'm going to be breaking down four main pillars that the post above identified, and how they may be relevant to MCYT meta analysis. Not all of them are going to work- these were concepts made up for The Mechanisms, after all, and for all their similarities, it's not a perfect 1 to 1. Let's get into it!
Pillar 1: Universal Story
This is a pillar that has one really important and relevant concept, but I do have to bend a bit of it in order to make it work. Namely, what we're calling "the universe" here. But it's still quite important. You'll see.
As mentioned up top, The Mechanisms were originally called Dr. Carmilla and The Mechanisms. Dr. Carmilla (both the character and the creator) eventually left the Mechs to do her own thing, tell her own story, but the story of the universe at large is still hers. She's still got her name in the title, she's still the one who created the original lore, so to the universe, she's still the main character. She might not be the main character of any given story, even any given story she participates in, but it's all her universe in the end. As such, both her stories and the stories of The Mechanisms are canon, but they might not be strictly canon to each other. Because ultimately, The Mechanisms were the universe's vessel for telling stories, and sometimes the stories they told made for a weird concoction of conflicting canon, so you just had to accept that these conflicting canon beats were both canon, but which one was canon depended entirely on which story you were looking at, which one was trying to be told, who that story specifically was about (this is a concept that'll come up again later).
The reason this is a bit less relevant to MCYT in that, if a roleplay server is being well run, you (hopefully) won't have a main character in this way. And even if you do, that main character is not always going to be the creator of the server/universe, ala Carmilla. But again, it's not irrelevant, because I think this can be applied when you're looking at individual POVs of any given event or server.
Every character is the main character of their own POV, even if they might not be the main character of any given story beat or event. They have their own lore and story to tell in that POV, and when you sit down to watch their POV that is the story you'll get. It just so happens that said story might have things that are canon to it that are not canon to other POVs, that cannot be canon to other POVs, and you as the fan have to reckon with that. Sometimes these things might be small or not something that's gonna really throw you, like the conflicting Magic Mountain lore in this season of Hermitcraft. Other times, these might be really big things, like Martyn's Watcher lore in the Life Series.
But either way, while the idea that there is a Universal Story that has a clear main character doesn't really apply to servers, it certainly ties in to the idea of POVs. And furthermore, the "all of these stories are canon, but not strictly canon to each other" idea that comes along with Universal Story is a really vital thing to keep in mind when it comes to MCYT.
Pillar 2: Casting Call (Narrative Role Filling)
There are two main parts to Casting Call. The first is that The Mechanisms have a role in the stories they tell, even the stories that are not their own, like the album ones. These roles are often trope heavy, or based on pre-existing characters that the Mechanisms themselves have similarities too. The second is that the Mechanisms slot into these roles not necessarily because they want to, but because they have to in order to make the story work. Because the narrative wants them to help the story along to the ending.
This is definitely more relevant in roleplay heavy servers, but it still comes up on just about every server out there. While for the Mechanisms, the divide is between "the character I am" vs. "the character I am playing so the story gets told", the divide for MCYT tends to be a bit more "the person I am" vs. "the character I am playing so the story gets told". This divide (and people's inability to understand it) is the reason why MCYTs so often have to give the "Remember, we're all friends in real life and anything that the others weren't comfortable with wouldn't be in the videos" disclaimer. Everyone involved in this story is playing a character to move the story along, and that character may be totally removed from their real life person (such as Scott playing Xornoth in ESMP s1) or pretty similar to their real life person, but dialed up so they can tell a story, get a reaction (I don't know any of these people in real life, so I can't confidently pin someone down for this, but you get what I'm talking about).
Regardless, there is a story to be told, even if that story isn't thought out in advance, and that requires people playing the villain or the damsel in distress or the knight in shining armor sometimes in order to get it done. And, tying back into Universal Story, who is playing which of these roles can change as the canon of each POV changes (such as in Third Life, where who is filling the "villain" role depends entirely on which POV you're watching).
Pillar 3: Story Echoes
Story Echoes are a very Mechanisms based concept, because unlike everything else here, they are explicitly canon. This concept refers to the fact that The Mechanisms' stories "echo" throughout the universe, or repeat over and over again. It's in different places and different times, but these stories are out there, over and over again.
This one can apply to MCYT, but I have to admit, it's a stretch and a half. Ultimately, the way this applies here is in the fact that there's no such thing as an original story. Every story borrows from or is inspired by or is similar to another story out there. It's the nature of story telling. The first example for MCYT that comes to mind is fan Life Series, stories that take the mechanics of the Life Series but put them somewhere else, somewhen else, with someone else. However, Story Echoes are explicitly the same story repeating over and over again, which isn't really the case with this example. As I said, it's a stretch, but I didn't want to skip over this pillar entirely.
Pillar 4: Narrative Imperative
And the final pillar, Narrative Imperative, also referred to as Narrative Flow. Despite this one also being explicitly canon to The Mechanisms, it is also very relevant to MCYT, and in my opinion, the most important concept on this list for MCYT meta.
Narrative Imperative is explicitly canon in the Mechs universe when it comes to how The Mechanisms heal from injuries or death. As discussed in this post from the official Mechanisms tumblr, that healing factor functions at "whatever speed the story wants it to". This concept of "sometimes stuff just happens because it must for the story, even if it doesn't make sense or actively contradicts previously established canon" has been brought up before when we were discussing Universal Story, in respect to lore, to roleplay based story beats, for both groups. Here, it's more discussing a fact of the universe at large, a fact of how the Mechanisms function. And while the general concept of Narrative Imperative can be applied to literally any conflicting lore thing in any MCYT server or story (it's flexible in that way), I think it works best when talking about how game mechanics tie into the story.
What does death mean for this character? What does death mean for this character when on this specific server? What does death mean for this character on this specific server in this specific moment? What does logging off mean for this character, on this server, in this moment? What does voice mod or discord calls or chat mean to this character? What do skin changes mean? What does the Player Heads mod mean? What does sleep mean?
There are a million mechanics you can ask these questions about, and you can get a million different answers to each of them. Death can and does mean wildly different things on different servers (see: a Hardcore series like Naked and Afraid versus Hermitcraft). But it can also mean wildly different things on the same server to the same character at different points in time (see: the concept of "canon lives" on DSMP). Death, and numerous other game mechanics, mean whatever the hell the story (and the universe and creators involved) wants them to mean. You just have to take it in stride, the rules aren't clear because if they were, there wouldn't be enough freedom to tell a story.
Even on servers where it seems like the rules are clear, like the Life Series or other death games, death doesn't always mean what the rules say it does. Take glitch deaths, for example, like Loony's (almost) glitched death in season 1 of Deceit SMP. He glitched into a wall and should have died, but Legundo was allowed to cheat (use creative) to save him, or, had he died, been allowed to use cheats to bring him back, for fairness' sake. But this doesn't only apply to glitches- take one of Scar's off camera deaths in Third Life. I don't have the source for when Martyn talked about this on hand, but Martyn has mentioned that Scar technically died earlier in Third Life, when Martyn just snapped one day when Scar provoked him, killing Scar in a short, boring fight. There was nothing technically illegal or unfair about that kill, like with a glitched death, but when all was said and done, everyone agreed it just sort of... felt bad. That it didn't feel like a good story. So, the death was overturned, and the server went on as usual. The rules may have been clear here, but sometimes rules get in the way of a good story, so they're disregarded, simple as that.
MCYT stories are not being told in spite of their medium but in harmony with them. And as such, that means that sometimes, the narrative rules above all, and narrative imperative says that this mechanic is going to work like this, at least for now, at least for me. It might not ever work like that again, for me or for anyone else on the server, but it works like that in this moment, so you take it as is.
So, yeah, there's my essay! My final thoughts: Go listen to The Mechanisms. Go listen to Maki Yamazaki (Dr. Carmilla). I hope you enjoy these four concepts and keep them in mind when you are analyzing or playing the space of MCRP, because I think they are really helpful things to keep in mind. Have a good one.

The op who made that "wahh why isn't fandom fun anymore" post LITERALLY maintags their hate lol, they've done it for ATLA characters and ATSV characters among others. It's so embarrassing.
See this is why I don't participate in many fandoms.
Honestly, everyone is a little blind about themselves once in a while. And you and I are no exception. I'm not in the business of checking into every op on every post on this website. I have like,,, a job and shit. I don't have time for that.
OP can be right and still mess up. OP might just have unpopular opinions that you don't like, and are assuming malice where there isn't any. I don't know, and I'm not here to put that OP on the coroner's table. All I can do is reply to you.
People are allowed to have opinions. People are allowed to share their opinions in fandom space (which is the main tag, I can send you scientific papers that explain this). People are allowed to have unpopular opinions, Publicly, and SHARE THEM. What they are not supposed to do, is lord those opinions over others and use them to hurt people.
What I was agreeing with when I peer reviewed those tags was when people vent into main tags, or frankly this kind of thing? Like, when people can't stay in their lane and have to make a "judgement call" on other people? Or when people are just straight up resentful of a character or fandom, and so they like spit vinegar at everyone over it? I don't know anything about the person you are talking about, and I don't plan to look for it, but unless they're literally pointing fingers and calling people evil for liking 'unlikable' characters, I doubt it's as serious as you're concerned it is.
Like for example, I don't like Twilight. I don't personally find it interesting. I've never read it, but my friends were really into it when it came out, and what I heard of it didn't like... sound fun to me at all. There was a while in my life when I was a little bitch about that, and I'd like make fun of Twilight and I didn't think about how that might upset my friends, and it absolutely never crossed my mind to try and read it and like idk trust my friends to have good taste?
So I try to be better now that I look back on that and see how much of a tool I was. Twilight has stuff in it that's unique. It has stuff in it that's silly and melodramatic too, but its pulp and it explores some interesting themes of romance and "otherness" and age and mental health and stuff like that. So I understand that it appeals to people and it has value, regardless of whether I personally find or make use of that value.
But if I were on tumblr in 8th grade when it came out, I 100% would have been maintagging Twilight hate memes, because I was just kinda tonedef and dumb. That's being a kid. But being a kid doesn't excuse the hurt it causes.
And that is what I think people need to be careful about. Not making fun of things they don't like. Not hurting people for no damn reason, when it would be healthier for everyone to just not interact in the first place.
So also like... this anon message you sent counts as that same thing. Sending an anonymous message (so there's no accountability for what you say) to someone over the character of a third party is not a responsible way to act, and innately causes drama and stress. The OP has nothing to do with me. I have nothing to do with them. I literally don't even know their URL, and I don't plan to go looking for it. Because I know how to stay in my lane and not go looking for drama. That's an important part of adulthood, is choosing your battles. Choosing what to spend your energy on, and not looking to cause problems for yourself and others where it's not absolutely necessary.
For instance, I'm choosing to reply to this, because I think there's something important I can share about my long years in fandom with not just you, but the rest of Tumblr as a whole. I also can take this time to clarify something that obviously wasn't as intuitive as I assumed it was.
Anon, I don't know why you sent this. I don't know whether your intent was out of innocence, whether you were cross with me for some reason, or some secret third thing that I can't fathom. But if you'd like to talk about it more, my dm's are open to everyone. I won't keep replying to anon's, because that's just going to gum up my followers and friends' dashboards; but I'd be more than happy to have a one on one conversation about what you are concerned about, and your fandom experiences, and mine and how fandom has changed over the years.
This type of message isn't very effective at communicating problems.
The best possible outcome of the message you sent me is me not taking it personally as an attack or judgement, and either replying like I am here with civil and clear communication, or me just deleting it and going on with my day. Which, isn't much of a positive impact. The worst possible outcome is you hurt me badly, trigger past traumas, scare me or cow me from ever voicing my opinion again, and cause me to cut myself out of fandom again. Which has happened to me, and enough that I only interact with precious few fandoms as it stands - something you should already know since I mentioned it in the tags of the post we're talking about.
So again, please DM me if you want to talk about this or have other concerns you need help working through. But hiding behind anon and not fully explaining yourself doesn't give me a lot to go on. I just don't know what your intent is, and I'm not going to bend myself into funny shapes trying to guess.
In all honesty, the words you wrote kind of feel like you want me to feel embarrassed about OP or about agreeing with OP or about something I did? And if not, you are asking me to agree to throw a stranger that I don't know and have no interactions with under the bus to validate your opinion.
This sort of thing is why its hard to exist in fandom spaces. This is "big brother" behavior, and turns fandom into a police state. Pointing fingers only makes people retaliate, it doesn't help fandom heal or grow.
That is what people need to stop themselves from doing.

hello yttd fans. i really dislike making posts such as these, but i believe many of you do not realize how discourteous you're being and i would like to bring that to your attention for... well, everyone's sakes.
to preface, the your turn to die tags are intended for searching for fan content. this includes:
- fan art, writing, sculptures, knitting, etc. various art forms which feature some level of yttd theming - theories/speculation, commentary, etc. (likely accompanied by screenshots or official artwork) - headcanons, be it drawn or simply compiled in a post - aus/crossovers based upon the main game - edits - so on; just most things that draw from and extrapolate upon yttd, really.
+ ytts tags may have overlap in the yttd tag. this is understandable, as it as an offshoot of the main game.
this does not mean that every single post you make on yttd must be constructive -- i've certainly had times i only wanted to share a cute sketch nankidai made, with little additional commentary. but the difference here is what you choose to maintag, and how often you do so. there are some posts which, frankly, do not need to be maintagged. i'm not telling you to delete them, just not to spam the main tag with them.
many of the current 'daily' yttd blogs in particular have dismissed this. if you intend to post daily, you must realize that you will be interacting with the search tag incessantly. typically, i'd have no issue with this! i love seeing the yttd tag blow up, as it did with the minisodes, ytts, or the chapter updates! it was nice seeing everyone reinvolve themselves, if only briefly.
however, when the tag is overwhelmed by 'daily' blogs which are only ever posting official content that has been out for years -- that is when i take issue. people should not have to avoid the yttd tag simply because it's difficult to comb through for actual art and the like they're searching for; they shouldn't have to block another five blogs to make it useable.
you are overwriting many people's other posts, and with recent tumblr developments, sometimes the search tags have a limited amount of posts they will show - which applies even after you have blocked people. all you will find is a screenshot along the lines of this:
Tumblr media
[ID: Screenshot of Tumblr’s recent search tag, reading: “No recent posts tagged with #your turn to die? / You should go ahead and make one." END ID.]
now, i understand that some people might not be sure what to share, in which case i'd ask you to sit on that before you begin posting on a blog that warrants daily interaction! in general, planning out exactly what you intend to post beforehand is probably a good idea: whether it's edits, headcanons, art, so on...! i'm sure there's something of your own you can showcase & add in your individual flair for your blogs! i don't intend to turn you away from the yttd tag entirely, but i know there's more unique you can add on your own instead of simply reposting the yttd game, one frame at a time... (an exaggeration, but i do hope you understand my point.)
- for example, if it's a case of you not being confident in your art, or feeling as if you need prompts to draw. here is some advice!!
{ confidence } - you should still practice! although it may be discouraging not having people reblog your art as often, it's nonetheless a step in the right direction! hell, i've seen some beginner artists who already show tons of potential: despite their insecurities about linework, they'd have amazing colors; or despite their colors feeling flat, they're slowly trying to hammer away at intriguing or symbolic composition. honing this is what's truly important, and i'm sure the right audience will eventually begin to recognize and appreciate the effort you've put into it.
{ prompts } - in this case, it may very well be fitting to make an introduction post asking for requests! but - if that doesn't work out, there's always option b) searching out prompt generators! or, finding lists of prompts somewhere on tumblr. there were many roleplayers who used to use these for writing, but you could still draw out the scenarios!
all in all, it's just important to find your niche! i don't have a good conclusion to this post. just please be mindful of not spamming the tag in this way. there are other ways to contribute/be known without frustrating other fans... thank you if you've read this post in full.

Hihi !!
I'm starting a tournament blog and wanted to know if you had any tips on running one + how to promote ?
hi!! um.. well, i don't know if i am the best person to come to but! i am very flattered you asked still :)
okay. promotion. the way i promoted both of the tournament blogs i have run was i made an intro post, maintagged it, and @'d the tournament blog that had inspired me.
both times i have been lucky and the blog reblogged my post, thereby giving me a starting feed-in audience of people interested in the similar style/same fandom tournament to that blog that i was now hosting.
for non fandom specific tournaments, i do also know that people will also tag tournament blogs, either that they follow, that inspired them, or are simply just Well Known ones.
but! mostly i reccomend not worrying too much about that part and instead making an intro post. this post serves as a summary and sort of like an advertisement for your tournament in a way?? it lets people have an idea of what sort of polls they're gonna be seeing if they follow you.
that's about all i got on promoting though now for running...
for one. make your polls in advance; if you know what your contestants pool is, that is. for instance, the pjsk cards. there i knew what all of my match-ups would be made of and therefore could make matches before i even started.
if you don't know your full line-up, like if your tournament will be made up of submissions, then at least make a mock-up of how you want your polls to look. where you want each... contestant?? i don;t know a better word for it. to be placed; where you want the question to be, either above or below the pictures/videos/links/whatever; if there's any additional information you want to add to the match like propaganda, additional photos like i do, etc etc.
if you have a bunch premade then you don't have to worry about creating a full batch to be released every day, helpful for if you have a day where you are suddenly busy or have less time than expected. so. very helpful i reccommed. please follow my advice here and not my habits.
don't. push yourself. if you only feel like you have the ability to post 5, 3, even just 1 poll a day. do that. don't force yourself to spend all of your time working on the blog, especially if you find yourself not having fun! you made the tournament, and if you need to step back a little from it, that's your right. don't revolve your entire life around running a tumblr blog. it. has the chance of leading to burnout, especially if this tournament you're running overlaps with your school year or some other activity you're doing.
communicate with your followers also. it can help you figure out problems you;re running into, can help you figure out what schedule people are more intrested in seeing (i.e. one day polls vs one week polls) and all that important stuff. but also. it's nice. just getting to talk to people who are there because they're interested in the same thing(s) you are :)
uh. in my experience it's nice to have a tag that denotes that your posts are all tournament posts. like. for instance. all of the polls on this blog go into the main 'project sekai' tag. but i have also made sure to add the 'tournament poll' tag and. well, for this round. the 'pjsk costume polls' tag so that people who just use the main tag who do Not want to see/be flooded with my polls have an easy way to block them. i reccommend doing this.
uhm... i personally also reccomend not making a bracket but that's just me, i personally just didn't like making them for each round. and. uh. um. i've already said this but. when you're running the blog. be sure that you have fun :)

Okay, so I just do not involve myself in discourse. It’s not worth my time. The Block button exists for a reason and I intend to use it as frequently as I need to to make my Tumblr (and any other social media) experience better for myself.
Not everyone shares my view on this and that’s obviously fine. If you like arguing with people on the internet about your very important opinions, go for it.
But maybe. Maybe you could not post this bulshit in the main tags for things. I opened up the mcc tag on here bc I wanted to see some cool fanart and learn what I missed from other streams, since I always only watch one pov and maybe switch for dodgebolt.
Instead, I found a shitton of people hating on Dream. This was not the first time. This is not Twitter and even if it was, maybe don’t take out your incredible rage on someone on social media. If you Gotta, go complain to your friends in a gc (assuming you have some) or die mad about it. Punch a Wall, kick a pillow, but don’t fill maintag with discourse about players.
Not everyone is as interested in seeing your hot takes as you are.
Also, I was watching Dream the entire time. How much of his pov did you watch before writing out that essay about him babyraging and being rude in chat? The dude was salty, obviously. He got first and then had to redo it, tried to cheese it and got fucked by his own hubris.
He was salty and kinda pissed afterwards, but he specificaly said that he does NOT want people to hate on noxcrew and that obviously, technical issues happen, but that it could've been handle differently.
Him being 'toxic' in the chat a bit after ace race and during hole in the Wall? If you watched his pov, you'd know he was making a joke of it and trying to get his head back in the game.
He himself said multiple times that he was just babyraging and that he was upset at loosing a first place, esp in a game that was played as late as ace race was and a game that has that big of a bonus for winning. It did cost him the first individual and it did cost his team first place points wise. He was not incorrect there, from what I saw.
Anyways, it was super entertaining to watch yellow and they absolutely deserved that win. Dream is not a seven times winner (5 canon wins let's gooo) just because of luck. It was great watching them pull back from fourth to second in SoT, wich is litteraly my favourite game and I was really glad it got picked. And that dodgebolt- lmaoooo, it was the most hillarious thing I've seen in a while.
All in all, this mcc was super scuffed, really fucking fun to watch and I can't wait to watch more vods tomorow, seems like it was a wild ride from every pov (specifically excited for Wilbur ace race and Tommy...just Tommy in general). Excited for the next one!
And stop spouting discourse in the main tags. <3

Pinned Post I guess
Hey! so, welcome to my mcyt blog, where I post about anything related to minecraft or minecraft youtube!
I don't have energy to make a banner but ccs on tumblr can interact at the risk of seeing bad fics, worse art, and occasional ship content. Go ham i guess.
About Me
My name is Gold/Semper, i use he/they/it/ey (declined ey/em/eir/eirs/emself, singular verbs with it. so like, ey is very funny.) I am a queer trans person, a writer, and an artist! I also play minecraft (java edition), if you feel like inviting to me to your smp.
I'm putting the rest of the info under a cut because this got long- in short it contains important tags, info on how I tag, and some stuff about my interests.
Important Tags to Know
fin rambles - my tag for rambles about myself, my life, random happenings, or occasionally fandom stuff that I don't want to maintag
fin rants - vent tag! block if you don't want to see negative posts.
fin writes - my writing tag
fin draws - my art tag
fin plays minecraft - my tag for all posts about my adventures in minecraft. often filled with grumbling about my need to be an overachiever even in minecraft. also, copper roofs.
fin answers - my tag for any and all asks
fin's friends - specifically for asks from and interaction with tumblr friends of mine
empires shipping - shipping of empires characters
trafficshipping - shipping of 3rd life or last life characters
General Tagging Info
I tag and warn for the following: blood, gore, injury, death, alcohol, religion, homophobia, transphobia, and dark empires!scott interpretations.
I am also willing to add anything to that list if you have a trigger you need to me tag for! I reserve the right to say no if it's something that I post about commonly enough that it's likely I will forget to tag for it (e.g. 'empires smp' or 'solidarity gaming'), but generally I make an effort to make my blog a safe place.
Also, mutuals, I would appreciate it if you can tag for alcohol.
Other Important Info
I write image descriptions for as many posts as I can! I tend to refrain from describing art or other images that I am not sure of the content of or don't think I can describe well, but I do my best to make my blog as accessible as possible. I encourage my mutuals and followers to do the same, or even just look for image descriptions in the notes before reblogging something! If you want an image described, feel free to @ me. I do not write captions for videos, though, as my audio processing is bad enough that I don't feel like I'm a reliable person to do that.
Finally, if you see me reblog a harmful post, or do or say something harmful, feel free to tell me so! In fact, please do! Chances are, I didn't know that was harmful, and I will be happy to change my behavior because I want my blog to be a safe place for everyone besides bigots.
SMPs and Interests (last section, I promise!)
Currently I am into: last life, empires smp, and hermitcraft.
I was into: dream smp.
Feel free to talk to me about any of the above. Dream smp fans are still obviously welcome to follow, but you probably won't get much dsmp content from me!
And, finally, I don't mind if you disagree with my takes on block men, but don't be an asshole about it on my posts. I am a self-proclaimed bitch and I will block people without hesitation; I don't exactly have high standards (don't be an asshole, don't harass people, don't be a bigot), so if you managed to trip over the bar that's on the floor of hell at this point, that's on you.
Also, I created the venus flytrap husbands ship name. (This one's for you, Sage.)

i don’t feel like importing my carrd over here so i will make my dni a pinned post
basically get away from me if you
fall under general dni stuff (do i need to list it? i don’t think i need to list it i think we all know)
are a proshipper, anti-anti, “fiction doesn’t affect reality” person, or any combo of the 3 (basically, you see no issue with shipping adults with kids. or relatives. or romanticize abuse. in terms of this fandom that especially means get away from me if you ship/see no problem with arle w/ satan, ayashii w/ sig or klug, or marle w/ squares. there’s more stuff i'm a bit wary of but those seem to be the most popular. just stay away from me. ecolo/ringo and schezo/literally anyone are on thin ice i still dunno how to feel about it all)
are anti-mogai, anti-neopronoun or anti-kin
are a n$fw account
are otherwise blocked on my main
also PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T SPAM MY LIKES unless we're mutuals it does Not make me feel good
if none of this applies to you, have fun watching me scream about a puzzle game. i like interacting sometimes
oh, and a quick tag guide:
____-posting; yelling about a certain game (i.e questposting will have quest posts). general yelling will be tagged with puyoposting.
head of canon; headcanons, of course! these are yelling posts too but they won't be tagged with puyoposting
arcaposting: my arca headcanons. run.
colorful prospect; art. posts with this are very likely to get the puyo maintag because i am desperate for people to look at my art
cataclysm!: vent tag
the yudelle agenda: they should hold hands
at your service!; asks
quite impressive indeed! ...quite!; submissions
expect this to update with the more tags i get

Note
As a fellow artist, I 100% get the feeling of "why nobody reblog my art??" but one important thing to remember is that a good part of hermitblr is shadowbanned, so your art might actually /be/ getting reblogs, they just don't show up in your notifs. Hope I don't like, come off as /super/ mean, that isn't my intention! Lots of love 🧡🧡 (ps: your anon isn't on, thought I'd let you know)
thanks! And don't worry, this didn't come off as mean at all. The shadowbanning thing may very well be true, not to mention that tumblr is like a quarter of a website being run by three rats in a trench coat so there's a chance that not everybody can see it in the tags even though I can see it in the tags. I know my tags are broken at the moment and I miss a fair amount of HC content on the maintag because of it.
I think I'm just tired, mostly, because I did expect this to happen when I posted the art. And I went through a period of time on tumblr too where I basically never reblogged stuff, so I get why people do it, although I try to reblog everything these days. A lot of time I make stupid text posts on this blog that get a lot of engagement even though they took 3 seconds to write, so that's what makes it annoying.
I also need to be more patient since it hasn't really been all that long! Sometimes tumblr posts can take a long time to gain notes
thank you for your ask ❤💙💛
(and thanks for telling me my anon is off i did not in fact intend for it to be turned off 😅)
