Donnie and Leo get kidnapped and are forced to fight in the battle nexus. This is my pick for the most well written fanfic and most in canon characterization with ALL the characters. You will HEAR the characters not just through the dialogue but also through the writing itself. As the reader, you will be beaten down and have your heart crushed mercilessly which makes the pay off the most rewarding, satisfying experience that I've personally ever felt with a fanfic. This fic lives in my head rent free and I think about it at least once a day. It is my all time favorite rise fic and I highly recommend it.

anyways heres some hcs i have abt this:

- I think buggy would teach law how to juggle for the bit and so when they meet again when laws like his age in canon and everyones like law ??? you can juggle ???? and hes like yeah some clown taught me 😐😐

- random shanks appearance to annoy buggy and then he finds his bff for lifer married and with a son (law is in denial of this) (shanks then proceeds to talk to them abt some random brat he found on some island (its luffy the brat is luffy))

guys. Astarion wasn’t literally considered a child when he was 30. Among elves he was clearly seen as Of Age to do adult things like drink and live independently and fuck and pay taxes. its just that elves have a stupid extra concept of adulthood that doesn’t MEAN adulthood in a literal sense. has nothing to do with physical or brain development. not even necessarily emotional development, but it kind of is depending on how u interpret it, but I’m getting ahead of myself.

basically elves in the forgotten realms trance instead of sleep (we know this) and until around age 110, during their trances they “dream” of their past lives (I’ve only seen a few ppl who know this, but idk if they also knew it stops at a certain age). They then stop dreaming of their past lives naturally, and it’s generally considered kinda traumatic to go through bc well. you’re losing what has been a fundamental part of yourself for so long.

I interpret that as being like a “shared trauma maturation stage” where instead of elves brains literally becoming more adult, losing the guidance of their past lives feels like more of a final step towards independence to them. and adulthood is just the closest social experience to this stage of being “truly on your own”

around 30-40 they get a “first reflection”, which is when their dreams start having experiences from their current life. (Makes sense for Astarion having a dream about Cazador in origin runs that prompts the biting scene) And then the loss of past life memories at 100-110 is called the drawing of the veil.

Tl;dr Astarion was a young adult by elf standards stop infantilizing him PLEASE

Getting into headcanon land now, feel free to draw your own conclusions from here.

i imagine older elves kind of have a sense of being more “mature” than under-110 elves in the way tht people comparing their trauma tend to do. Like “u think ur so smart and worldly but you haven’t even been through half the shit I’ve been through.” PATRONIZING that’s the word I’m looking for, it’s patronizing. And since every elf goes through this, they just kind of assume that yeah, going through this trauma/emotional loss IS a big step towards being a full adult. so it’s like if the concept of adult had a Pokémon evolution that didn’t involve getting wrinkly and hair loss and going through menopause or erectyle dysfunction. Adult 1.5 steam update.

I have no clue if Astarion would have the drawing of the veil as an undead elf. The fact that he even has dreams shows that being revived as a vampire keeps certain bodily functions running, mainly anything relating to the brain and consciousness, but idk if it would keep him physically at 30 or let his brain change.

Although hold on, in the epilogue where you’re a mind flayer and considering eating Astarions brain, you get narration that’s like “ooohh his brain part that handles senses must be sooo wrinkly” which would only be caused by the shit he went through post-vampirification. Meaning his brain Would be able to change and “mature”. But that’s also just an assumption that mindflayer!tav/durge is making.

k I looked it up. The exact quote is “Astarion’s sweet brain may be a bit less wrinkled than the rest, but you hunger for its teasing cells. His parietal lobe - which controls his sense of touch - will be an aphrodisiac in your maw.” Hilarious, he canonically gets called smooth brain. Anyway if u kill him I don’t think you get to eat his brain, withers just banishes you asap lmao. So we don’t actually know if his parietal lobe changed over his un-life! I’d wager it did though, based on his “don’t touch me” selection line (and probably some other lines hinting towards over-sensitivity tht im forgetting). And change caused by external trauma vs change caused by aging is different anyway.

no conclusion wrt to if he’d reach the drawing of the veil or not. Does it even matter? He’s still the same adult man, who’s gone through far worse hardships than losing memories of his past lives. If he lost his past life dreams too, well then I don’t think that’d make much of a difference for him.

Won't get too much into details bc its late im sleepy and i cant formulate elaborated think pieces, but idk exactly how to feel about this episode???

I enjoyed it a lot!!! Sinostra are so FUCKING HILARIOUS jdhdjdhd😭😭😭 (taiga the mvp for me this episode) so i didn't feel bored at all. My only issue ? is that it felt way too short and the ending was too abrupt ????? Or maybe is just the feeling after binge reading lol it felt more like a "bonus" episode rather than a full one like the previous episodes (maybe it is intended to be this way?)

But there's definitely more things to discuss and analyze mainly about taiga and romeo's relationship, romeo's past !!!!!!, YURI'S !!! (vibrating at the fact the yuri ex frostheim theory might be true)), taiga's memory, HAKU'S STIGMA?!?!??!!, and all that sketchy thing going on with hyde........

Hey!!! Thanks for asking! I don't have everything refined just yet, I kinda wanted to see other ppls interpretation of what the premise of a sugar rush twst event would be, but I can surely give you my take and notes on some things💙

This story would mainly be about Adeuce and them having a fight and then reconciling. They'd have some moments of hostility before the big final game, and then the big climax would be them making a truce and basically sticking a middle finger to the twst ver of king candy (might make him later idk). Think of it as Vanellopes' climactic moment w/ king candy just adeuce themed lol.

Also, with the climax, I feel like Deuce would be winning before twst king candy knocks his cart over, injuring him. Ace sees this and decides to help him at the risk of losing the race. Ace and Deuce decide to finish the race happy day then reconcile and everything's hunky dory yay

When the crew are making their carts, I feel like Ace and Deuce would be fighting over who would get the pie cart. During the cart-making process, the two would be arguing (w/ yuu trying to stop them) while everyone else is over their crap and just trying to design their cute lil carts

This last point might not be very helpful with fanfic making, but I feel like everyone would have a "code name". They would have to make up really stupid names for themselves to fit in with the other racers (since the super rush chars have rlly stupid names lol). I also feel like the twst crew would make up lore for their sugar rush personas just for fun. So make whatever lore u want for their personas I think it'll be hilarious

One of the best decisions I ever made was to finally pursue mainly drawing original art. I had no idea until recently that investing yourself in making ocs and enjoying your own work is the highest form of self love so I feel really good about my art and myself

Its very fun and satisfying to constantly explore my own interests and understanding more and more about the things I like and want to put out in the world.

Its hilarious to constantly find myself in situations where I'm laughing at my own jokes with my characters and not caring that nobody else gets it. I didnt know making inside jokes with yourself could ever be a thing but it is now for me.

I ofc have nothing against fanartists (more power to them, live ur truth whatever) but personally I always found drawing fanart a bit pointless bc I dont like spending so much time and energy on just fanart. Also at the time when i wouldnt stop drawing only fanart I happened to be really young; so i sort of associate personally drawing fanart as something sort of childish to do? So I kinda stopped doing it as often bc it feels a little childish to do at my age idk.

The anime/manga scene has become extremely uninspired and dry to me as of late so im finally coming down from really getting too crazy about that shit anymore. So I feel like im finally growing up because of it lmao

I dont regret spending less time drawing fanart now but its only a little sad to me bc from my own findings i realize as an artist its only really possible to make internet friends if youre obsessed with big anime/manga series or whatever. Qui gon has a space youtube channel where he uploads videos of cool plants and reviews books on space botany with the occasional random footage of jedi stuff. The content is either very dry or very chaotic with shaky cam and somewhat blurry footage.

He made the account when he was a padawan after Dooku (nursing a headache from Qui Gon's latest hyperfixation) wearily asked him to channel his love for plants somewhere else at least until this migraine subsides, padawan

He realises that he actually loves making videos and chatting endlessly to a camera. His first few videos end up being 3 to 4 hours long and focuses on obscure plants and random books he found in Dookus room

The jedi Council is a little illiterate when it comes to social media (it hasnt caused any problems for the order yet so its pretty much unregulated) so QuiGon isn't actually breaking any rules when he posts videos without making them private. Many jedi do have social media accounts but they tend to use it for more professional purposes, so Qui Gon's channel slips under the radar with an average of like 5 views per video.

He continues using the channel as a botany/cute animals/philosophy/ranting outlet throughout his apprenticeship.

Once he's knighted he has less time to upload videos so his most common type of videos end up being those 20 second to 1 minute clips ft. Something Funny or Something Cool or just blurry footage with unintelligible audio.

Ofc when he gets padawans, he also posts random vids of them when he catches them in 4k doing sth stupid/cute.

By the time obi wan comes around, qui gon's space youtube channel has like, 50 short videos of feemor and xanatos doing things like petting tookas, failing spectacularly at executing a flashy ataru form, being sappy while high on painkillers, running away from qui gon as he holds a flesh-eating parasite towards them and shouts 'why are you running?' etc etc

At this point he has about 20 or so regular viewers who either think he's roleplaying a jedi or are members of the jedi order who find it hilarious (mainly Qui-Gon's friends and, for some reason, Master Yoda)

Anw the point of this is to lead to the premise of one of his videos going viral during the clone wars (possibly the one of general kenobi when he was 14 doing a backflip and landing on his face. Or the one of him sleeping while half his body is dangling outside a window. Or the one where he does this).

It's good PR for the jedi bc it shows them as slightly chaotic but peaceful people who are at their core just like everyone else (idiots).

It's memed to the extent that it reaches the eyes of the Jedi Council and Anakin who immediately like brings it to obi wan like "Master is this really you??"

Obi Wan randomly discovering this treasure trove of videos that shows so much of the person his master used to be, missing his dad so much but at the same time feeling a little betrayed that Qui Gon uploaded such embarrassing videos to a public forum where anyone could view it: you are haunting me from beyond the grave master

And the channel has both clips of Qui Gon and Obi wan as padawans, so there would definitely be fan compilation videos comparing their feral padawan energy. Obi Wan feels seen bc no one used to believe him when he told them that calm Master Jinn was actually crazier than him but now he finally has proof but then angst bc Qui Gon is not there so he can't rub his face in it :(

Anakin and ahsoka discovering that their cool and calm master used to be wilder and more feral than them before qui gon died and left him to raise a child: that's actually very sad.

The general public seeing Dooku in the bg of qui gon's padawan videos: is General Kenobi... fighting a war... against his jedi grandpa?

Anw this can go two ways: either this is just a cute thing that happened during the clone wars and everything else happened the same as canon OR it inadvertently saves the galaxy

Canon: the videos make everyone involved Feel Things but don't change their actions. The empire never gets around to banning the channel so Obi wan uses it as one of his last sources of comfort in the desert as he watches over luke. Once he reconnects with Qui-Gon's force ghost, they bond by watching old videos from the channel. Years later, Luke discovers Obi Wans old datapad and inadvertently finds out about the original viral video and the channel. It ends up being a very good reference for painting a picture of jedi life pre-empire. Luke uses it as a reference when building his jedi academy but not before spending a solid hour laughing at the padawan kenobi fail compilations

AU:

Dooku watching some of the videos and all the fluff (and possibly seeing the vlog where padawan qui gon talks about the differences between attachments and love with regards to jedi and bringing up his bond with dooku): Actually maybe I can leave the jedi order and make positive change without becoming a sith lord. Maybe I can help the jedi order without agreeing with everything they do.

Anakin watching the same video on attachments vs love and going to obi wan

Anakin: Do you love me master?

Obi wan: ???

Obi wan: You are my brother anakain??? Of course I love you??? But why are you asking me?? Are you okay?? Do you have something to confess perhaps?? Like about a senator?? A senator that has a name beginning with a p??

Anakin, panicking: Ah yes p-pa-palpatine did tell me a strange story about a wise sith lord when we went for our weekly bonding session yesterday

1) obi wan loves him

2) obi wan knew about padme and didn't say anything

So he doesn't get angery when Obi wan brings the palpy matter to the jedi Council and investigates him. Then add in a few well-timed coincidences bc this is a fix it and yay palpy overthrown!!

Anakin prolly voluntarily leaves the order and becomes a happy trophy husband for Padme after a long talk with Obi wan about his future where he reevaluates his life decisions. ("Anakin you will be my brother whether or not you're in the order")

Obi wan meets Qui Gons force ghost and does get to rub it in his face that he was a less feral padawan than Qui Gon.

And they all lived happily ever after except palpatine who died angrily ever after.

Kouno Jun is one of the two protagonists of Asou-sensei's older work, Our Hero Studies and is one of Haganeno Ken's students at Holy Lance Academy (a private school that either exists the same town as Saiki or some neighboring one)

The only translated OHS chapters so far show us who Jun and Haganeno are as characters. Kouno Jun's a generic tsukkomi high school student with normal teenage boy interests and crushes... he's baby and a total boyfail.

Jun likes video games (Kaisou Monogatari, an in-universe franchise), ramen, melon soda and Yayumi - the class rep. Pretty normal dude that's just being constantly bothered by his classmates and the teacher he hates...

...and then there's Haganeno Ken - THE delusional cosplayer hero wannabe teacher with huge interest in roleplaying and RPG video games, who immediately takes a liking to Jun, mainly for his name (his name means shield, while Haganeno's mean sword. you see where i'm going?)

Same thing happens in the anime except Jun in the Christmas episode wasn't animated like he's an actual pre-existing character, except just a background character so he looks different but has the same jacket with his initials so its definitely him.

basically its a silly ship me and my lovely sweetest gf (@lu-kario ) came up with and it kinda stuck around. "omg haha what if the two protagonists from different manga dated" but yeah it became an actual thing with thought out scenarios between us.

I like to imagine Jun and Kusuo having a calm and nice relationship, lots of quality time spent playing video games or going out to get some ramen together. Kusuo gets to have someone more usual by his side and Jun isn't likely to be bothered by Ken when Kusuo is around (:3).

and yeah, they do get another scene together in volume zero! how lovely! the christmas episode is also one of the reasons i find the ship cool but even despite the sillies having canon scenes and illustrations together i like it simply for fun.

its kind of amazing to me how many people come away from watching hellsing seeing alucard as this unshakeable badass vampire which like he is to some extent but also throughout most of hellsing hes suffering from major amounts of ptsd and panic attacks which almost none of the characters are privy too because alucard cloaks himself in said unshakeable badass vampire image and even especially when only integra catches on because she remembers that her father described alucard as truly nothing more than a sobbing child whose lost everything

im saying this mainly bc the first thing that always comes to mind whenever i think of alucard is that. we see his feelings hurt Multiple times throughout the series but especially whenever people give up on their lives when faced with him. when luke valentine called him a monster alucard drops all his intimidation tactics and excitement about a fight and just somberly kills him. when that brazilian soldier kills himself out of fear we see alucard enter a full on manic ptsd state where he lashes out at seras and is talking like hes still in wallachia on the battlefield. when hes fighting alhambra and rip van winkle and all of milleniums forces he always loses any and all enthusiasm he has for fighting the moment they give into their fear and call him a monster.

like for what is supposedly in-universe this intimidating monster that can never be understood, alucard is so emotionally vulnerable with basically every major character he fights, he mourns anderson, he understands why walter betrayed them, he responds to the majors resolve to find glory in battle and death, he so genuinely wears his heart on his sleeve in most cases that it's almost hilarious that characters can't really catch onto his character.

walter couldn't understand why alucard turned seras into a vampire and it really starts and ends with "she wanted to live and I didnt want to walk the night alone", and integra knows that she won't be around forever so she doesn't mind it.

Ninth: Piko hates taking care of the campers. So much. But his parents made him otherwise he would spend the whole summer playing genshin or whatever he does

Tenth: Flower is actually really good with the kiddos even though they seem mean

Eleventh: Miku probably started some underground gambling ring not even gonna lie😭😭 she has them kids WORKING
