I will forever stand by the fact that Blitzen and Hearthstone are some of the most interesting characters that Rick Riordan has ever written.
Hearthstone is the first mortal in centuries to practice rune magic, a skill that only Odin possessed before Hearth came along. He faced what I fully believe to be the worst trauma in the riordanverse (people often forget that in addition to being shunned for his deafness, being blamed for his younger brothers death, and having to live with the Wergild, he also had to skin the monster which killed Andiron all by himself at eight years old and he wasn't allowed back inside the house until had finished skinning the entire thing) and despite that, he still managed to return to Alfheim not once but twice to face his father. (and it's implied that it also happened another time prior to the story because Alderman knows who Blitzen is in THoT)
Blitzen is a misfit among dwarves, being the only one of his kind who isn't a builder by nature, but that doesn't mean he doesn't create by nature. He cares so much for fashion that he makes it his own craft despite not being given the recognition for it. He makes his own degree, he turns fashion into something that even the other dwarves can appreciate, and he succeeds in opening his own shop. He shows that he is willing to do anything for his friends on multiple occasions, and he has so much love to give even after losing his father, the only person who ever understood him. Because of this, he is able to recognize being a demigod for what it is, something that many other demigods don't like admitting all the time.
Neither Blitzen nor Hearthstone fit in among their own kind, but together, they form a bond unlike anything else Rick has ever written. Most of the MCGA fandom can't look past them being "not canon," but that's wrong. They aren't "not canon." They're nuanced and complicated with a relationship that might surpass platonic, but maybe it doesn't. (For my good omens fans, I would say they're thoroughly ineffable) That doesn't matter because they love each other, which they state in the text multiple times. Just because it never explicitly says "Blitz and Hearth are in a relationship" doesn't mean that they aren't in love. Just look at the things they do for each other.
Hearthstone, who doesn't show much emotion and is usually very restrained, but whenever he's been separated from Blitz, immediately rushes to hug him. Blitz, who once yelled at Hearth's abusive father with so much unbridled fury that Magnus thought it was Odin himself.
Blitzen can't survive in light, and Heartstone needs light to survive, so Blitz brought sunlight to a world of eternal darkness for Hearth. They call each other "my dwarf" and "my elf." Blitz learned an entire language for Hearth, and he expresses jealousy whenever Inge is around. Hearth faces abuse to save Blitzen even after Blitz begs him not to.
You can't have one without the other. They need each other more than anything else in the nine worlds. They weren't written just for you to go, "Oh boring, they aren't canon because they never kissed"

The farmer is a pretty heavy sleeper if even a meteor landing on their farm won't get them up before 6am but what about their spouse? How would they all (sve included if you'd like) react to not only a whole space rock hitting the farm but the farmer reacting with nothin more than a sleepy "oh was probably just a meteor... I'll check that in the mornin."
I had a lot of fun with this scenario, really liked the idea itself. Thank you so much for the ask, and enjoy! 💕
_________________________________________
SDV/SVE bachelors:
Sam said quietly, "Oh, okay," and laid his head back on the pillow, falling asleep again. When morning came, the young guitarist would consider his vague recollection of this conversation a dream. What will be his surprise when he sees an actual meteorite lying not far from their house. "Babe, that could have ended badly..." "No worries, Sammy, but if you want, we'll check it out next time." ...Next time?????
"Did you hear that?!" "Relax, dear, it's just a meteorite..." "Ah, alright... It's a WHAT?!" And the slogan of this Harvey's headcanon: "A meteorite is the best alarm clock! You'll wake up right away!" Although in Farmer's case - they woke up to a fuss made by their worried husband. But you can understand the Pelican Town doctor, too - a bloody piece of cosmic rock fell right into your yard, it's hard to stay calm.
Elliott literally fell out of bed from such a loud sound outside the window, and Farmer continued to snore quietly??? The writer was so confused, he didn't know if he should wake up Farmer or not. "Mmmm... Did'a meteorit fal' again... I'll deal with it tmorrw... 💤" Farmer mumbled, leaving Elliott even more confused. Meteorite? Wha- again? They mean... it's happened before and it's going to happen again?! What is happening?!
"Hon, what the fuck." At first Shane's reaction to Farmer's words wasn't too violent, because he's still sleepy. But after a couple of seconds the meaning of the words reached him, the gyrus in his brain started working and he shrieked: "The coop! Charlie!" The realisation that the animals might have been hit by the meteorite instantly brought Farmer to their feet.
No matter how hard Alex tried - his spouse slept like a dead man, muttering that they would check the source of the noise tomorrow. What do they mean, tomorrow?! They need to check it now! Alex can't just leave it alone, so he goes to check it out, with or without Farmer. Whoa, a real meteorite... Erm, shouldn't they tell Lewis or someone about this?
Meteorite or not, Sebastian remained surprisingly calm. He gave up trying to wake Farmer and went to the window to see what was out there. They were right - it was in fact a meteorite, a real one. And there's light coming from it. So cool. "Sure you don't want to come with me, dear?" Farmer mumbled something incomprehensible in response, and the emo decided to go alone, to look at the cool sky rock. Because why not.
Lance sensed something was wrong before the meteorite touched the ground. Fortunately, the far-sighted gallant adventurer had put up a magical barrier that prevented the space rock from crashing into his and Farmer's house or barns. The meteorite had fallen, all was well. "I take it this phenomenon is not new to you?" He smiled as his spouse mumbled "tomorrow..." in their sleep. Well then, they both can look at the meteorite later.
"Razor!" Magnus jumped up sharply from the bed, casting the spell on automatic. The trajectory of the falling meteorite was reversed, and the celestial stone plummeted into the water, no longer posing a danger to the forest. "Farmer, meteorite." "Mhmm, five more minutes.... I'll look at the meteorite tomorrow...." Magnus wondered how his dearest spouse could even survive as an adventurer with no sense of self-preservation. It's a damn meteorite!
A whole palette of emotions was bubbling up inside Victor, awake from the noise. What was that! A meteorite? A real one! It's probably incredibly hot right now, he shouldn't go near it.... But it's a meteorite! It's so scary, and so interesting! Farmer, don't hide your head under the pillow, but get a flashlight. Victor's taking them out to see the space rock! Well, and make sure everything's okay and no animals are hurt, too.
SDV/SVE bachelorettes:
A meteorite?! A real rock of cosmic origin fell right on the farm? Maru immediately jumps out of bed and wakes up Farmer. It's unclear, however, whether this reaction of hers is simple worry about putting out the fire from the meteorite fall or that the young inventor is thrilled that she and her spouse will see the meteorite up close! Probably both. Either way, Farmer won't sleep well tonight...
"What makes you think it's a meteorite? Maybe it's aliens? Oh, that's so cool! Get up quick or we'll miss the whole thing! And grab a sword, just in case." The force with which Abigail was prancing poor Farmer made them realise at once that their wife was not going to let them finish their beauty sleep. Unlikely aliens in there, but they'd have to check anyway. Ugh...
Poor Penny is in complete shock at how calmly Farmer has reacted to everything. Don't they care what happens to the farm? What if what fell down caused a fire and everything could burn? There's a forest nearby, it would be a huge fire! Penny tearfully begged her sleepy spouse to check it out before it's too late. Farmer had to get up (they hate to see their lovely wife crying).
"Did you hear that, Farmer?" "Yep, meteorite hit again, I'll look tomorrow..." Leah can already see the fire that has travelled from the glowing space rock to the dry summer grass. Oh no, there's going to be a fire now... She wakes Farmer up with one mighty shove and shouts an emergency. And as much as Farmer grumbled over their interrupted sleep - the artist was right. A forest fire is a very dangerous.☝️
The sound of a meteorite falling may not have been able to wake Farmer, but the shriek of terror of their wife Haley sure knocked them out of dreamland. "Shh, Haley, it's only a meteorite..." JUST A METEORITE?! Is Farmer laughing at her? Oh no, they can't go back to the dream realm now - Haley wakes them up again and tells them to look at that fallen meteorite before something else happens. Haley's half asleep herself, but she's scared, so she'll insist on checking it out now.
Before going to bed, Emily read a daily horoscope in a magazine that she would soon "be given a big sign, so make your decision at once." Nowhere, however, did it say that this "sign" was a huge rock from the sky. But at least she made the decision right away, (and the right one) - getting Farmer out if bed, despite their protests, to make sure the falling meteorite didn't destroy anything. No "tomorrow", it had to be now. She hopes no animals were! Her heart couldn't take it...
Claire jumped up in bed, as if scalded by boiling water, at the rattling of window glass and the vibrations throughout the house. Something had fallen on the farm - and that 'something' is very big. She woke and woke her spouse to no avail, who only responded to the terrifying sound with a louder snore. How did they even manage not to wake up from such a noise? And how could they mumbling so calmly about the meteorite?!
Poor Sophia, frightened by a scary sound outside , immediately pressed herself against Farmer, trying to hide. Farmer kissed her gently and told her that it was just a meteorite, that everything was fine and they would protect her. After saying "it's okay" and "I will protect you" the panic inside Sophia was extinguished and she fell asleep again in the arms of her spouse. The meteorite in the morning would definitely be a shock to her (she thought she had dreamed the whole thing).
After that horrible sound, Olivia not only wakes Farmer up, but also gets almost half the town up, making one call to Lewis and claiming that something terrible has happened on her and Farmer's property. Farmer sleepily tried to convince Olivia that a fallen meteorite was no big deal, but she wasn't convinced. How is that - a huge, dangerous rock from outer space - and not dangerous!

Orange Peel Theory’s Got Nothing on Magnus Bane
“This whole thing sounds stupid,” Alec rolls his eyes at his siblings.
“That’s the point. It’s stupid but cute,” Izzy explains.
He thinks for a moment. “And Jace passed?”
“Jace passed,” Izzy nods.
“And so did you.”
“Yes,” Izzy smiles.
He’s not surprised, both his siblings are gone for their partners.
Alec doesn’t think a stupid orange peel theory is the true test of love but alas, mundane culture rarely ever makes sense to him.
“Alright. I’ll try it,” he sighs at their childish excitement, “but if Magnus doesn’t peel it and I have to get a divorce; I’m blaming you two forever.”
Izzy and Jace chuckle at him. “Okay, bro.”
Alec forgets about the stupid thing for the next few days. They’re busy and Magnus and he barely get any time together.
Then Izzy texts him one day, “Did you try it?”
Children.
Magnus comes out of the kitchen, with coffee for the two of them in his hands. Alec lets out a hand and takes one cup.
His husband sits on one end of the couch, his legs spread on the table in front of them. Alec sidles up next to him, closing any distance.
“Hi,” Magnus exhales against his mouth.
Alec smiles before kissing him. “Hi, baby.”
They spend the day lounging on the couch, trading slow kisses and touches. It’s been a while since they have got the time.
The kids are with Izzy and Simon today.
Then Alec remembers the stupid thing and decides to try it. He excuses himself and goes to the kitchen.
Do they even have oranges? He wonders.
He glances around the kitchen and finds a bowl of fruits with a few oranges in them.
Thank fuck.
He picks one up and walks back to the living room.
Magnus has a book in his hand now and his legs are stretched out on the sofa. He picks up the man's legs and makes space for himself, putting them above his.
He plays with the orange for a few minutes before he speaks, “Baby?”
“Yes, love?” Magnus looks up.
“I don’t feel like peeling this. Could you peel this up for me?” He asks, nonchalantly.
Magnus glances at the object in his hand and gives him an easy smile. “Sure.”
He hurrays himself internally and is about to pass the orange to Magnus before his husband snaps his fingers and voila—he has a plate in his hands with oranges peeled out and separated, displayed in quite a decorative manner on the dish.
Well, shit.
Alec huffs out a breath, picks up a slice and eats it, grumpily.
Magnus puts the book aside and shifts on the couch until he’s lying with his head on Alec’s stomach. He brings his hand to Magnus’s hair and runs them through it gently.
Another half an hour passes before Magnus comments. “You didn’t eat the oranges.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Well, he has magic, so I can’t blame him,” he points out to his siblings who laugh at the incident.
“Why don’t you try again?”
Alec rolls his eyes, “I have better things to do, you know? Like running the Clave?”
“Come on, just one more time,” Jace insists.
“Fine,” he relents because even he wants to see how it goes.
It’s a few days later when the chance arises. The boys ran them ragged this morning, shouting and complaining, not liking anything Alec made for breakfast.
It was one of those mornings when nothing either of them did was getting the boys to settle down. So, they’d accepted defeat and magicked them some ice cream.
Ice cream cures everything in their house.
They’re exhausted by the time they get to have their breakfast. At this point, Alec doesn’t feel like eating much, also he’s running late.
“Darling, what would you like for breakfast?” Magnus murmurs against his neck, his body a strong line against Alec’s.
He hums before picking up an orange, “I don’t know. Just peel this for me,” and hands it over to Magnus and continues, “I need to leave. I’m not very hungry, right now.”
“Alexander,” Magnus says in an affronted tone, “You know, how I feel about skipping breakfast. Not in this house.”
His husband drags him over to the coffee table and snaps his fingers. There’s a small set-up there now. A plate of pancakes with a side of berries. Bacon and sunny side up.
“Eat,” Magnus chides before he can say anything.
He smiles, shaking his head in affection before he starts eating. Then, Magnus speaks, “Oh, wait. I forgot,” before a magically peeled orange appears in front of it.
Alec groans.
“What?” Magnus asks innocently.
“Nothing. Thank you.”
Alec tries a few variations of the thing but the result is all the same.
He can’t test the stupid theory, not that he needs to, but because it’s fun and with each failure, his desire to get it done right increases tenfold.
His siblings can’t win this.
He’s competitive, fuck him.
There was a demon attack today and Magnus and Alec, as psychotic as it sounds, decide to make a date out of it.
They help each other get prepared.
Well, mostly it was Magnus helping Alec ensure that all his eight hundred blades were in place.
“Do you think demons feel anything?” He asks his husband as they portal to the location.
The warlock thinks for a moment, “I don’t know. I don’t think so. Why?”
A mischievous grin appears on his face, “Well, if they did; they wouldn’t be able to concentrate while you looked like that.”
Magnus chuckles softly. “Flirt.”
They both reach home two hours later, taking their time between bantering and flirting while the three shadowhunters along with them groan at their blatant flirtation.
Not entirely exhausted, but the right amount of tired, both of them crash on the couch as they enter the loft. They’re met with two very excited boys, who immediately sober up a little seeing their tired states.
“You okay, Daddy?” “Bapak, are you tired?”
They hug the boys close and kiss their temples, letting them know they are well.
“Hungry?” Magnus asks.
“Starving.”
Then like an idiot, he asks the boys to bring an orange.
He flutters his eyes and hands it to Magnus.
“Peel,” it’s an order this time because Raziel, Magnus will know shit is up now.
“You just said you are starved. What is an orange gonna do?” Magnus raises an eyebrow.
“Just do it,” he whines.
“And they think I’m weird,” Magnus grumbles.
“Don’t use magic. You’re exhausted,” he warns.
Before he can pass off the orange to Magnus, Max comes running to him, snatching the orange. He snaps his fingers and there’s a plate in Alec’s hand again.
“Here, Daddy. I peeled it,” Max yells excitedly.
Internally, he groans like the biggest tragedy just occurred but outside, he can’t help but chuckle in response as he kisses Max on the cheek. “Thank you, baby.”
Fucking warlocks in his house.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The six of them are at the Tang Hotpot on a Saturday evening.
They switched Sunday brunch with Saturday hotpot for the day. Clary mentioned something about hotpot and Jace mentioned never having one and Magnus decided then and there, that it’s time to introduce the white assholes he hangs out with these days to culture.
“So, we put whatever we want to eat it inside this thing and it’ll cook?” Jace acts surprised.
Magnus rolls his eyes, knowing Jace likes to act like he doesn’t know anything about the mundane culture.
It’s always a 50-50 chance between Jace really not knowing something and him just fucking with everyone else.
“That is how cooking works,” Alec says sarcastically. “You cook what you want to eat and voila—“
“Not all of us have partners who can take us to any part of the world and have us taste world cuisine,” Jace grins.
“Clary can literally create portals,” Izzy points out.
There’s a large pot in the middle of the table, divided into two sections. One is the traditional broth while another is a spicier version of the broth with added garlic and spices.
Magnus prefers the spicier one.
Bowls of broth are placed next to the pot to be added as required. Next to them, platters of raw ingredients are present. There’s thinly sliced meat including beef, pork, lamb and chicken. Next to it is a plate filled with seafood—shrimp, and fish balls. Accompanied with it are noodles and dumplings of a variety.
And then there’s all the leafy vegetables.
The best part about a hotpot is that it is the only preparation with which the boys usually are okay eating vegetables. Most of it has to do with the fascination the cooking element of it brings but regardless, if his kids are eating vegetables, for whatever reason, Alec counts it as a win.
Magnus sits next to him, a hand dragging a random pattern on his thigh as Alec murmurs something against his ear, pulling a small grin out of the man.
“We are out in public. Stop with the obscenity,” Izzy grins.
Alec sticks out his tongue at her.
Years ago, Alec never thought it would be like this one day. He could never comprehend something like this.
An average Saturday dinner with his family and friends, as he sits next to the love of his life, his husband, Alec’s husband—like that very thought wouldn’t have made Alec throw his fists into a punching bag until they bled.
They’re waiting for the last of the preparations to arrive so they still have a few minutes. Alec looks up at Magnus and plants an unhurried kiss on his lips. When he pulls back, Magnus has the sweetest look on his face.
The food arrives so they all straighten up to get started.
Magnus picks up a few pieces of pork and dumps it in the broth.
“This one has improved,” Magnus teases as Alec pours some spicy broth into his bowl. “His white ass couldn’t deal with the spicier broth the first time we tried it.”
“Jokes on you. You married me,” Alec grins back.
“Oh wow,” Jace explains. “This is too good,” he adds before he chokes realising that he dipped his chicken too much into the chilli paste.
“Weak,” Clary chuckles.
“You try it,” Jace challenges her. Clary dips her shrimp into the chilli paste and pops it inside her mouth, all the while keeping eye contact with Jace.
She doesn’t flinch or cough at all.
“I am so attracted to you right now,” Jace comments.
Simon murmurs something against Izzy’s ear and she laughs, heartily before smacking his shoulder lightly.
This is good, he thinks.
Magnus nudges him and without even looking, Alec turns and opens his mouth as Magnus feeds him a bite of fish ball.
“Too sweet?”
He thinks for a moment before replying. “You could add some sesame oil.”
Magnus hums at that.
There are a few pieces of mushrooms in his broth which he doesn’t like at all. He picks them up and puts them on Magnus’s plate who rolls his eyes at him.
“Why do you take mushrooms if you never eat them?”
“I’m picking them out for you. The best mushrooms in the world for you,” he says in mock seriousness.
Magnus shakes his head in fond amusement before he picks up the plate of seafood and a few shrimps. He puts down his chopsticks and starts peeling the shrimp one by one.
When he is done, he transfers the plate to Alec who smiles at him. “Thanks, baby.”
It’s a fun night as they all relax after an exhausting few weeks.
“Alec, do you not know how to peel a shrimp or what?” Izzy comments.
Alec raises his head and frowns. “What?”
“Do you not know how to peel a shrimp?”
“I do.”
“Then why is Magnus doing it for you?”
Alec tilts his head to find Magnus peeling a few more shrimps and placing them on his plate.
“Umm, I like doing it for him,” Magnus adds nonchalantly.
Alec thinks for a moment. As long as he can recall, Magnus has been peeling shrimp for him.
He thinks about Izzy’s question and scoffs—of course, he knows how to peel a shrimp.
Then why doesn’t he do it himself?
“Magnus?”
“Yeah?” The warlock replies as he takes another bite of a dumpling.
“When did you start peeling the shrimps?”
Magnus raises his head at him in a quizzical manner. “Like twenty minutes ago?”
Alec huffs. “No, I meant like at all. When did you start?”
His husband frowns. “I don’t know. Maybe the first time we went out for a hotpot. You seemed confused by everything so I helped.”
The first time was almost five years ago.
“Okay,” he mumbles before he adds. He doesn’t know why but he can’t help but ask. “But why are you doing it still?”
Magnus gives him a small smile. “Because you like shrimps.”
He says it like it’s the simplest of things. And maybe it is.
He huffs out a laugh. “And you couldn’t peel those dammed oranges?”
The small smile turns into a huge grin as Magnus replies, “Well darling, you didn’t really like those oranges, now, did you?”
Alec breaks into laughter. “You knew?”
“After the first two times, yes. I had my doubts,” Magnus laughs.
“So all this while you knew?” Clary laughs. “You were just fucking with Alec.”
Magnus glances around the five of them. “I believe that I was playing all five of you and not just dear Alexander.”
“You are so annoying,” Alec comments, even though he’s laughing.
“I’m annoying?” Magnus teases. “You are the one who was testing my love through an orange.”
“And you failed,” Alec announces, feigning hurt. “My poor heart.”
“Oh, I’m sorry. Should I stop peeling the shrimps too?” Magnus asks in amusement, and it’s entirely too enticing with a shrimp between his chopsticks.
Alec steals the chopsticks from Magnus’s hands and pops the piece inside his mouth. “Nope.”
They’re both home two hours later. Alec falls into the bed with Magnus on top of him, “Baby?”
“Yes, love?” Magnus runs his hands gently through his hair.
“You know what I realised?”
“What?”
Alec kisses Magnus’s nose before he speaks. “Some stupid peel theory has got nothing on you.”

the end, magnus
A very long time ago, I watched the trailer for a then-upcoming video game called Baten Kaitos.
The trailer as a whole is nothing special, but one particular line of dialogue made a strong impression on me. It still rattles around in my mind from time to time.
The line is
The End Magnus? Never heard of that before.
and it's about "the End Magnus," a magical artifact of some sort in the game's setting. (I think? I still haven't played the game.)
But when I watched the trailer for the first time, I had no way to know that I should interpret "End Magnus" as part of a single noun phrase. So I heard it this way instead:
The end, Magnus? Never heard of that before.
with the speaker telling his interlocutor, Magnus, that he's never heard of "the end."
There's something weirdly poetic about this version of the line, to me. It's not just the end of any particular, named thing that this guy has "never heard of" -- it's "the end," in general.
It's as though this man is questioning some all-consuming, seemingly inescapable aspect of his existence -- one that he has so much taken for granted that it it would be unnatural to name it, one that he has conflated with life or existence itself to the point that its "end" seems not like the end of any given thing but simply like . . . "the end," full stop.
Perhaps he's an immortal being, confronted for the first time with the concept of death? Or -- is it not even the finite extent of any one vast thing like "life," but the very concept of finitude, that the speaker has "never heard of"?
This is the sort of thing that the line conjures for me.
Back in college, I used to repeat it in my head from time to time. It was one of the many semi-sensical mantras I had at the time, whose hypnotic power and vaguely reassuring connotations gave me comfort during times of stress or monotony.
I found this particular one oddly invigorating.
"Oh, you're tired of doing so much homework? You feel like the semester has dragged on too long, like it will never end? Well, imagine you're this guy: not just involved in some protracted, drawn-out difficulty, but so thoroughly psychologically colonized by it that you can't even conceive of it ending at all -- indeed, so that it is the default referent of your speech, not even needing a name -- so that, for you, 'it ending' is simply 'the end,' the capstone of what can be conceived.
See, it could be worse.
And what's more: even if you were that guy, well, what is that guy doing? He's talking to Magnus! He's being confronted with 'the end,' and being forced to consider it, to expand his mind beyond its apparent outer limit. Even a mental prison as totalizing as this one can be noticed, and eventually escaped.
(Imagine that the end will never come; imagine that the end cannot even be conceived of; imagine that you have made peace with this, already. He did it, so can you.
But remember, too, that the end will come nonetheless -- as it will, eventually, even to him.)"

The Kingdom of Wishes- A “Wish” Rewrite
Chapter 1- The Intro
Our tale opens the same way many classic Disney movies did before, with a story book.
Tumblr media
The book opens, and we are presented with the illustration of a king looking down from his tower, and we listen to the narration of an elderly male voice:
Long ago, there was a kind and wise king, who wished that all his people could live the happiest and most fulfilling lives in his kingdom, and have all their dreams come true. "But how can I fulfill ALL their dreams?"The king pondered.
Then, he had an idea. Using his vast knowledge, the sorcerer king developed a new kind of arcane magic, Wish Magic. With it, the king granted the wishes of all the citizens in need of his help. And so, this became the tradition, in the Kingdom of Rosas...
But this is not his story, oh no no, King Eric was just the first of this loooong line of wish granting kings.
The pages of the book flip, revealing in each page a different king, each generation, and each one with their names written on the top of the pages, these kings are all named after the 9 old men, the famous animators that worked in the creation of Snow White. This is the first of many Disney references I’ll throw around in this rewrite.
Our tale begins with the birth of the 10th king of Rosas... Prince Magnus.
We see an illustration showing a young king Magnifico learning magic with his father, king Ward.
Young prince Magnus grew in power as quickly as the evening primrose blooms in the night. However, the young prince feared he'd never be truly worthy of following such a great legacy. With that in mind, the King and Queen decided that a... second option could be required in the future. And thus, prince Florian was born.
The two brothers grew into powerful sorcerers. But once it came the day to choose the heir to the throne, Florian was chosen, for Magnus didn't feel like he could be just as great of a king as the ones that came before him, he felt like there was something... missing in his life, something that would give him the confidence and strength he required.
And sure enough, that something, or rather, that someone arrived.
The most beautiful maiden Magnus had ever laid eyes upon. She was found by fisherman, passed out and floating adrift in a boat. By King Florian's orders she was brought to the castle, once she woke up, the maiden introduced herself as Amaya.
We see an image of young Amaya being found ashore by fisherman, she's dressed in a white dress similar to how Ariel was found by Eric in The Little Mermaid.
Amaya wanted to thank the young king for his hospitality, she didn't ask him to grant her wish, all she wanted was to serve in the castle as the king's personal alchemist, and Florian gladly welcomed her in his court. And as the days went on, Magnus and the mysterious maiden became hopelessly in love, and together, they felt as if they could do... Anything.
The narrators voice sounds confused with that last statement, like he doesn't know what's referring to. But he continues.
After a year of the kingdom prospering under king Florian's rule, Magnus, inspired by his new found love, decided to go on a quest for adventure, to leave the kingdom for once in his life.
We see an illustration of Magnus and his brother hugging each other goodbye next to a boat. It's a sunny day.
But every tale must have a tragedy, and Magnus faced the most painful tragedy of all once he returned to Rosas, and found out his dear younger brother fell ill and passed away while he was away.
We see an illustration of Magnus now back to Rosas, looking devastated, but one important detail is that he's now holding a staff with a green gem we haven't seen in any of the previous pages, it's a treasure he got from his quest.
But from this tragedy, Rosas reemerged stronger, with Magnus and Amaya as our new rulers. Magnus let go of his fears and swore to make the kingdom shine brighter that ever before, It's what his brother would've wanted after all.
Magnus changed the way that wishes were granted, instead of granting just a few per month like the kings that came before him, he granted dozens per week, by sending them up from the top of his tower, and making them float down to their wish makers as they sleep.
The kingdom was so happy and so grateful for their new king and queen that they started calling them by nicknames that reflected their magnificence and their passion. From then on, they were to be known as King Magnifico and Queen Amable.
The End
The book is closed by an old man's hand.
We now see the face of the man who was reading the story, Sabino, Asha's grandfather, looking ever so slightly younger than he was in the movie, but still very old.
He's laying on the bed with a smile, admiring the golden and flowery details on the book cover, and he says:
"I admire your interest in more sophisticated books Asha but ummm don't you think this one might be a bit too advanced for your age? hehe"
the man chuckles looking down to his side, where we see a little 5 year old Asha under the bed sheets.
"Yeah... I thought it would be better cause' the cover was so pretty, I wanted more fantasy, but its just romance... yuck" she makes a face of disgust sticking her tongue out.
"One should never judge a book by it's cover, what you got here is a history book." he tells her as he get's up from bed to put away the book and blow away the candles in the room.
"Sure doesn't explain things very well though, like where did queen Amaya even come from? And what's the deal with this staff the king found? And what sickness did his brother have? The book explains none of it." The little girl says frustrated with all these questions unanswered.
Her grandpa can’t help but chuckle, he's way too familiar to these unceasing questions of her's, Asha always had the habit of questioning everything.
"Well, 1. the queen is quite reserved about her past, it's best to respect that. 2. that staff is just a souvenir that the king got from his travel. And 3. sometimes bad things just... Happen, with no explanation, and there's nothing we can really do about it but to move on." The old man explains to her wisely "Now, it's time for bed."
"Noooo!" Asha interrupts before her grandpa blows away the last candle in the room "I want another story, this one didn't count because I didn't like it"
"And since when that was a rule?" her grandfather sounds amused by that
"Since now, I just decided" the 5 year old claimed proudly
"Hehehe and what exactly didn't you enjoy in this story?"
Asha thinks for a moment, but then she has an idea "Weeeeell for starters, romance is yucky, there was nooo villains, and I like villains in fairytales, and most importantly… it didn't have MY favorite king and queen in it"
(Ya know, I laugh to myself while writing this because not only Asha will grow up to live a romance in this rewrite, but also because there are indeed villains in that fairytale, it just so happens that the villains made themselves the protagonists.)
Sabino looks confused "... Your favorite king and queen? Now what do you mean b--" Sabino realizes who she’s referring to, and his confusion melts back into a tender smile "Oooh... hehe you mean THEIR story, huh? Say, didn't I already tell you their story this week?"
"And the week before that too, yes, but I just love it! Pleeease saba, then I promise I'll go to sleep, honest"
"*sigh* alright alright, but only because it's my favorite too"
Sabino sits down on his rocking chair next to the bed, no book required for him to tell this tale.
Once upon a time, there was a king, who traveled to a far away place with his son, his prince. They were looking for a place peaceful to make it their home, and they found it, a quiet house in the middle of the forest, not so far from a kingdom called Rosas. The prince was quick to meet the people that lived in the nearby kingdom, and among the people he met there was-
"A FAIRY!"
"Who's telling this story again?" Sabino glanced at Asha smugly
"Sorry sorry, hihihi keep going" she says hugging her pillow tightly.
So yes, the prince met a fairy, a fairy with the most incredible of powers, she could bring drawings to life! The prince was marveled by the fairy's magic, and hurried to tell his father, at first, the king didn't believe it "Drawings that move? That's absurd, son" but sure enough, the prince invited the fairy to their home, and she proved it to the king, she showed him her sketchbook and flipped the pages quickly, and all her drawings together seemed to move as if it was magic
"Because it WAS magic" Asha corrected
"Hehehe you're right, it was"
Years went by, and the love that the prince and the fairy shared only grew more and more. The fairy became an art teacher, sharing her magic and artistry, while the prince became a philosopher, passing on his wisdom and knowledge about the stars. And one day, they were blessed with the most beautiful little princess.
"That's meeeee"
"Yes, that's you" Sabino looks at Asha with eyes full of administration for the girl’s enthusiasm for such a simple story he only came up with to teach her about who her parents were.
And they lived ha--
Sabino interrupts himself before he finishes that phrase, he knows that's not how it went.
But he has to finish the story somehow, so he just says
And now that little princess is going to sleep, the end.
Nailed it.
"Very well Asha, a deal's a deal, good night now-"
"Saba! Look!" Asha points to outside the window with a huge smile "It's starting!" She jumps out of bed and runs to the window
We see countless wish bubbles floating out of the castle, like glowing lanterns filling the sky and making their way down to the people of Rosas.
"Huh, he started earlier today... Or rather, it's even more past your bed time than I thought, come on, back to bed mi nieta" Sabino rushes her back to bed, talking more sternly now.
Asha doesn't want to go to sleep yet though so she tries to stall some more "Saba, when I'm big, what if I wished to have magic like mama's?"
Sabino's eyebrows raise in surprise by the question "Y-you mean wish to make drawings move?"
"YEAH! I wanna be a great artist like her! I bet mr. King Magnifico could grant that wish pretty easy, right?" The little girl says cheerfully, her eyes shinning as she still looks up at the glowing wish bubbles in the sky.
Asha isn't seeing it, but her grandfather has a sad and conflicted look on his face, like he's trying to find the right words to tell her something really important.
"Heeey... You never told me what was YOUR wish to the king!" Asha realizes, turning back to the older man and walking closer to him on his rocking chair "What did you wish for?" She asks him curious with a big smile.
"... I don't know" He admits, trying to hide from her how sad that makes him feel with a forced smile.
"... Huh?" The girl tilts her head confused
"I was asked to give my wish when I moved to Rosas and... To this day I can't remember what it was... But maybe that's just how it works" He shrugs like it's no big deal. But it clearly is.
"That doesn't sound fair... He hasn't granted it yet?"
"... Could be…" Sabino admits what has been thinking for a long while, his eyes light up with an idea and he turns to his granddaughter with a serious expression "Asha, can you promise me something?"
Asha looks at her grandfather attentively and nods positively.
“When you turn 18… Oh never mind, you’ll probably not even remember this talk anyway”
“Yes I will, what is it?” She asks determined.
“… When the time comes for you to make your wish to King Magnifico, DO NOT wish for him to make you an artist like your mother, Sakina spent years practicing to master her craft… and I think she’d like you to do the same”
“Okay! I’ll practice everyday! To make drawings just as pretty as mama’s!” Asha’s joy returned with full force, she actually couldn’t wait to draw more in the the morning.
She jumps back to her bed, now ready to go to sleep since she has something to look forward to.
Sabino seemed pleased “That’s good to hear, thank you”
“But what should I wish for then?”
Sabino fell silent for a moment and just said simply “You have quite a lot of time to decide, I’m sure you’ll know by then... Now all I wish is that you'd stay in bed and went to sleep hehe” He jokes with a gentle smile.
He get's up from his rocking chair and goes to blow out the last burning candle in the room, but before he does so Asha says
"Saba... Do you miss them? Mama and papa?"
Sabino looks at the candle with downcast eyes.
"Yes... But it's alright, I still get to see them everyday"
"WHERE?" Asha exclaims, thinking her grandpa just casually admitted he sees ghosts.
"In you" Sabino tells her as he caresses her head "You have your mother's talent and beauty, and my son's intelligence and curiosity... They live in you, dear"
(Is this a Lion King Broadway musical reference? Yes, yes it is)
"You think I'll be able to make magic too, like mama?" Asha asks with a big smile
"If you keep trying, and never give up, you can do anything, my dear." He says calmly, looking at her full of pride.
"Okay... *yaaaawn* good night saba, I love you" She says while getting comfortable in bed.
"Good night mi nieta. See you tomorrow."
Sabino blows away the last candle, it all goes dark.
We cut to a sequence similar to the opening from UP.
(oh yes, it'll be that level of sad)
So as happy background music plays, with no lyrics, no lines, just visual story telling, we get a series of scenes showing some snippets of Asha’s life over the years.
We cut to the same little Asha waking up in the morning with a big smile on her face.
She's waken up by her grandfather, and she gives him a hug.
Sabino prepares breakfast while Asha draws on a sketchbook.
Sabino looks proud with Asha's doodle and hangs it on the wall.
Suddenly, they hear someone knocking, Asha goes to open the door and we see a young Dahlia selling sweets.
Sabino buys some, and as Dahlia walks away Asha notices she could use some help carrying all that food, since she's walking with a crutch.
Asha looks at her grandfather as if she's asking for permission to go, and he nods reassuringly.
Off she goes to help Dahlia, and the two quickly become friends
Asha get's back home after sunset, dinner is ready
she and her grandpa read some books together.
Asha went to sleep
This cycle would keep repeating during the whole musical sequence, and I don't want this to take too long so just imagine we see events similar to this repeating 7 times, each time we see Asha meet a new friend, and we see her grandpa become more and more senile and more dependent on Asha, as she gets older.
I'll just give a few more examples to illustrate it but if you're curious about how Asha met all her friends and in what order just read it here: Reimagining the 7 teens
We’ll skip the sequences showing how she met Simon and Gabo.
The music sounds slightly less upbeat
Asha wakes up, now looking more like a 10 year old
She’s ever so slightly less excited when waking up but still smiling
She goes to wake up her grandpa, who seems a bit lost at first but smiles once he sees her
She makes them breakfast
The walls of the house are covered top to bottom with Asha’s drawings
She helps her grandfather walk as they go watch a children’s play at the plaza, her friends Dahlia, Simon and Gabo are with them
Asha notices a young girl looking very uncomfortable on stage
Once it’s her scene, the bashful girl runs off stage
Asha goes back stage and we see her sit next to Bazeema and give her some words of encouragement
Bazeema goes back stage and plays the role of the queen perfectly with her eyes closed
Asha gets a new friend in her friend group
Sabino looks pleased
Asha prepares soup for dinner (remember she’s 10 here)
Asha takes her grandfather to bed, because he’s struggling to walk
Asha reads him some books
Asha went to sleep
We gonna skip to the last friend Asha made
Asha wakes up, now looking 13
She has a hopeful expression, it’s another day
She helps her grandfather get out of bed, he’s not smiling anymore, his expression seems distant
She makes them breakfast, and help her saba with eating it
There’s even more drawings on the walls, and they look way more detailed, showing Asha’s art skills improved
She and her 6 friends all go hang out for what was supposed to be a short walk
They spot a girl trying to practice juggling and failing miserably
Asha asks if they can help, but the girl just smiles awkwardly as if she says they can only help if they could make her a proper entertainer in the snap of their fingers
Asha indeed can’t grant that wish BUT she knows how to help her
Cuts to them all in Asha’s house, the 8 preteens all sit together on a round table and Asha brings in some papers, pencils and a book titled “Jokes and tales for jesters”
We see the whole gang now formed, as they talk and laugh together, helping Hal come up with jokes for her act as a royal entertainer
All is well until, Asha noticed her grandfather coughing on a chair right behind them
She rushes to give him some water and stays with him, while her friends watch from the table, with expressions of sadness and pity
Asha is hugging her grandfather when she feels a hand on her shoulder, she turns around and it’s Dahlia, with the other 6 behind, they all give her a reassuring smile as if to tell her it’s gonna be alright
Simon brings a blanket to cover her grandfather, Bazeema makes some tea, Dahlia prepares dinner, Hal plays some songs with her flute, Safi and Dario are dancing to it with Asha (as a reference to the “Silly Song” scene from Snow White where she dances with Dopey and Sneezy) and Gabo is just sitting there tapping his feet to the music.
Asha finally got a break, a moment to just enjoy herself
They all have dinner together, Gabo offers himself to help Sabino eat.
Asha waves her friends goodbye as they all return to their homes
Asha helps her grandfather go to bed, we don’t see his face much
Asha went to sleep
Asha wakes up, now 15 years old, she has an excited smile on her face just like how she had 10 years before
She shakes her grandfather to wake him up
He doesn’t move
She tries again…
No answer.
The music turns silent.
Her smile fades away.
We cut to her in Sabino’s funeral.
Asha is crying all alone, until she once again feels a hand on her shoulder.
She turns around to see all her 7 friends, all of them grieving with her.
They hug.
Asha wakes up, now in present day.
It’s her 18th birthday.
“… It’s another day” she says with a hopeful, but somewhat worried smile.
End of intro.
Chapter 2
Final Thoughts
And so it begins. This is just the first of a LOT of chapters.
This is my first time actually writing a story, in English no less (I’m Brazilian btw) so this has been a pretty big deal for me, please give me suggestions on how to improve if you have any, it’s really appreciated.
Asha and Sabino’s relationship hits really close to home for me, I think whenever we write something it’s inevitable that we bring a little bit of our own experiences into it, and here’s it’s not different, in my case I also had a really close relationship with my grandpa, and I grew up watching him develop Alzheimer’s, just like Asha I used to draw a looooot and my grandpa had a whole wall in his room dedicated only for my drawings, so yeah I got pretty emotional writing about that.
Rip Vovô Dudu
Anyway, what I wanted to accomplish with this intro was establish:
- King Magnifico and Queen Amable’s backstory… Or at least what the people of Rosas think it’s their backstory.
- Who were Asha’s parents and how they’re important to her and shape who she is.
- How Asha met all her friends, as well as who they are.
- How Asha is always going out of her way to help others.
- How her life went from being taken care of by Sabino to being his care taker, which in turn made her become more mature and hard working from an young age.
- But nevertheless, even with all the loss and pain she felt, she always remained kind and optimistic.
With all of that established, we can actually start this story, see you all on chapter 2!
Thank you for reading!

FIVE WEEKS LEFT until TAZGN6 is out in the world (7/16/24)! I'm back with another process post for a page from early in the book.
layouts are the very first thing I draw! this is where I'm thinking about page and panel breakdowns, whether we need additional beats to help with pacing, and where the text will go. You can see that in my very rough balloons! nobody else usually gets to see this, so enjoy the sneak peek at the messy first stage. as long as I can understand it, it's all good.
thumbnails- at this point the overall page composition is locked in & I'm working on strengthening the overall poses/gestures. You can see I decided to open up the panel for magnus getting a spell refresh and that merle's pose changed to account for more text elements.
pencils- here's where I start thinking more about likenesses & detail! I'm still tweaking some sizes to make sure there's enough room for text… but you can see I pretty much copied magnus over from thumbnails. Sometimes it just works!
inks- at the inking stage I'm thinking about using line weights to emphasize depth/ important elements and strengthen the overall composition, as well as making small fixes to sell expressions and flesh out outfit details.
And finally, colors- I use color much more as a way to heighten tone/ establish emotion than to be literal about local colors! In this case, going monochrome for magnus helped sell that something magical was happening AND helped his exhausted face stand out a little bit better.
and that's it! the pages go off to the letterer after pencils are locked, but I keep the rough text layer visible at every stage as I'm working so I make sure to leave enough room for all text elements.
TAZGN6 will be out in under 5 weeks, on 7/16! There's still time to submit your preorder receipt and get a keychain from First Second (US/Can)! I'm not involved with the preorder giveaway, but First Second on insta/twt should be able to help with that.

SH Prompt: Tiny cat!Alec is a mother hen
For @machsmile, who requested 'proud' for my wip challenge and got ... nothing. Please accept this old prompt-let instead. (This can be in the same universe as the last bit in my fic, The Ides of March Are Upon Us, on ao3.)
For [plot reasons!] Alec is turned into a tiny black cat by a bit of stray magic, but it's all fine because the magic will wear off by itself in a day or two.
Alec is still Alec, but he is also Alec filtered through the brain of a cat. Meaning, Alec still utterly adores Magnus, but is temporarily expressing that love by twining tight little figure-eights around his ankles, rubbing his cheek against every bit of Magnus he can reach, and purring like a tiny little train every time Magnus' magical fingers gently scritch in that one perfect spot between his ears.
As diminutive as he currently is, Alec's loud hissing at an irritating werewolf client proves his protective tendencies haven't diminished a single bit either.
Baring needle-sharp fangs, Alec yowls and pounces, leaving a bleeding stripe across the back of the hand that had come too close to Magnus for Alec's liking. Amused and secretly touched (he'd been about to shove the recalcitrant idiot through a portal if he hadn't left immediately anyways), Magnus watches as Alec sits primly at his feet, wrapping his tail around his paws and fastidiously grooming the blood from his claws. Magnus hadn't previously been aware a cat's face could convey precisely that level of smug satisfaction.
As a cat, Alec apparently also feels no need to constrain himself from his desire to be a gigantic mother hen. Mice are dropped off in front of Magnus with a proud little 'meow' whenever he hasn't eaten in what Alec deems an inappropriately long amount of time.
Magnus gulps as Alec looks up at him plaintively and prods the mouse closer with a dainty paw. "Why.... thank you, darling," he eventually manages. "How- how appetizing."
Magnus doesn't forget lunch the next day. Or any of the days after.
Magnus forgoes removing his hair gel one night and wakes up the next day to find himself laying on his stomach, Alec curled up between his shoulder blades, grooming him.
Magnus is momentarily startled, but the feel of Alec's rough tongue gently sweeping through the tangle of hair on the back of his neck is warm and soothing and repetitive, and Magnus can feel the steady beat of Alec's heart against the nape of his neck, pressed together as close as they are.
Magnus thinks it should feel more odd, but it doesn't. It feels like love and warmth and home, and Magnus stays in bed for far longer than he should to enjoy the simple act of Alec caring for him.

unpopular opinion but I really like the adventure zone. the first DND podcast I ever listened to was Taz Balance. I fell in love with it instantly. it was funny and silly and told a good story while being easy to follow for someone like me who didn't know how to play before hand. I learned how to play alongside the players and liked the goofs. it's what got me back into fanfiction writing and part of what gave me the courage to start actually posting them for people to read.
I've always had a hyperfixation on cryptozoology as long as I can remember and so amnesty caught my attention quickly. I love the chaos of it and apparently it's unpopular but I really loved Aubrey too. all of the players were great but apparently it's unpopular to like Aubrey and all Travis's characters in general. and Travis in general but I love Travis, his humor is exactly mine and Aubrey and Magnus are still on par with my favorites. I went as Arlo Thacker and Indrid Cold to the Halloween parties I had this year.
the first character I ever cosplayed was Magnus Burnsides and I got my partner to cosplay Taako. it was the first one and inspired a lot more creativity in me.
I love the graphic novels. I own all of them except for the eleventh hour because I can't afford it yet but I've read all of them they're all really well drawn and the story is amazing as always. all of them and all arcs of every campaign have made me cry easily. they're all that beautiful
finally I really really really liked graduation. I love Fitzroy. everything about crab boy magic man makes me happy. I like Rainer and her wheelchair, as someone who needs a wheelchair (but can't afford one rip american healthcare) it's nice to see and I also like that it's brought up in a jokey way when we first meet her. because it wasn't pity or anything. it was very in character for her. I like that we meet so many people up front because that's what it feels like when you move schools. there's so much new to the point of being overwhelming. I LOVE FIRBY AND HIS NO NAME!!!
I see so much hate towards taz and specifically towards Travis and I just can't understand it. also why expend your energy towards something you don't enjoy. just let people like things.

I've Loved You And You Haven't Known It
Hey guys! This is officially my 100th post here! As a little celebration, here's a Kit Herondale x Ty Blackthorn fanfic for you :)
Kit’s heart almost stopped when he saw the Shax demon poised over Ty’s limp body.
He distantly heard Dru’s screams as she ran over to him, Julian close behind her. Emma was yelling something to them, telling them to get Ty away from the fight, away from the demons-
“Kit?” He heard Ty whisper. “Kit, I-”
He choked back a sob as Ty’s voice faltered, and gripped the Herondale dagger tighter. Everything in him was telling him to run, to go to Ty, to help him. But he had to be strong now. For Ty. For everyone.
As Emma and Mark attacked a nearby Vetis, Kit scoped out the Shax that had injured Ty. Dru had held it back while Julian had carried Ty to safety, but now that they were both gone, the Shax was getting dangerously close to Cristina, who was wildly fending off another demon.
‘Oh no, it won’t.’ Kit thought. ‘Not another.’
He stowed the Herondale dagger and unsheathed a longsword, and despite being very limited in his sword work, he took in a deep breath.
“Kit!” Helen called, wielding a crossbow.
“Helen!” Kit rasped. “Ty was hurt, he-”
She grasped his arm. “Go to the Institute. Go to Ty.”
He frowned and gestured to the fray. “But-”
“Go,” She said. “This fight can be ended easily. But Ty needs you now.” She gave him a determined smile. “The Watson to his Sherlock, right?”
Kit gave her a stunned look.
“Yeah.” He said.
Helen shook her head as she loaded her crossbow. “Go!”
She didn’t need to tell him twice. Kit sheathed his sword and took off running towards the car.
By the time he arrived at the Institute, the adrenaline of the battle had worn off, and all Kit could do was worry.
He dashed inside and ran to the Infirmary, where Julian was tending to Ty and Dru was nowhere to be seen.
“Is he alright?” Kit immediately asked, panic evident in his voice.
“Dru’s trying to fire message Magnus and Alec.” Julian responded, sounding worried. “They’ll know how to help him. There’s nothing I can do as of right now.”
Kit did not take that as a good sign.
“Do…do you think he’ll be okay?” He asked.
Julian remained silent for a moment. “He’s resilient. He’ll make it through.” He raked a hand through his brown curls. “But there’s actually been something I’ve been wanting to ask you.”
Kit immediately ran through all the possible outcomes of what he could ask. What if he knew about Livvy? What if he knew the real reason Kit had gone to Cirenworth? What-
“What’s going on between you and my brother?”
Kit halted, unsure of what to say.
“What do you mean?” He decided to say.
Julian raised an eyebrow. “You know. You and Ty. Sneaking off together, always being secretive? What’s going on?”
Kit internally let out a breath of relief. Not about Livvy.
“Nothing, really. We just-”
At that moment, Ty began to stir, quietly groaning as he shifted. Julian and Kit immediately lapsed into silence and watched Ty.
After a moment, Julian gestured to the hallway. “You stay with him. I’m going to go find Dru.” He said. “I think he’ll be in good hands.”
Kit nodded as Julian slipped out of the infirmary.
An hour later, after Magnus had come and worked his magic, Ty was still asleep.
Kit was stretched out a cot next to Ty’s, and was absentmindedly fiddling with the headphone cord that stretched between their beds.
He looked over at Ty, whose hair stood stark against the paleness of the bedsheets. His chest rose and fell, and his cheeks had a pink tint that Kit knew was usually only present when he had said something funny and Ty laughed almost uncontrollably.
Kit was about to go to sleep when Ty finally woke up.
“Kit ?” He rasped out. “Kit, where are you?”
He shot up immediately and got up. “Ty, I’m right here.” He said, perching at the edge of Ty’s bed.
His eyes scanned Kit, looking relieved. “What happened?” He asked, trying to sit up and wincing.
Kit grabbed onto his torso and gently helped pull him upright. “A Shax demon got you. Julian got Magnus to help heal you.” He said. “You’re in the infirmary right now.”
Ty looked around, taking in the rows of cots, the moonlight streaming through the wall of glass windows, and the disheveled and rumpled bed next to him.
“You…stayed with me?” He asked surprised.
“Of course,” Kit replied, “Why would I leave you?”
The corners of Ty’s lips tugged upwards. “Thank you, Watson.” He said. Then, he tugged the covers down.
“Where did it get me?” He asked quietly. “I can’t really feel any pain right now.”
“Yeah,” Kit cleared his throat. “Magnus gave you a lot of painkillers. So you wouldn’t be in agony.”
He walked over to the other side of the bed.
He motioned towards Ty’s shirt. “Can I-”
Ty nodded, and a slight tint crept into Kit’s face. He gently pulled up the side of Ty’s shirt, exposing an angry red slash that ran from the top of his hip bone and across his chest.
Ty took in the wound. “It’s going to leave a scar.” He remarked.
Kit nodded. After a moment, he pulled Ty’s shirt down.
“I should probably go tell Julian that you’re up.” He said awkwardly. “I’ll-”
“Stay.”
Kit’s gaze snapped to Ty.
“Are you sure?”
Ty nodded. “Please.”
Kit’s throat went dry as Ty scooted over to the other side of the small bed and gestured for him to join him.
“C’mon.”
Kit hesitantly settled into the space next to Ty. Their bodies were squished on the small mattress with absolutely no wiggle room, but they managed to shift around. Kit’s arm was awkwardly positioned above Ty’s head, Ty’s legs were tangled with Kit’s. They settled into their positions.
After several minutes, Kit couldn’t stand the silence. “Ty?”
No response. Kit propped himself up on his arm and scanned Ty. He had fallen asleep again. Great.
Kit stared at him, his calm face, his dark hair, his lithe and pale body pressed against his tanned one.
He took in Ty’s calm expression, a mask of peace blanketing his face.
After a moment of deliberation, Kit finally decided to go to sleep.
By the time Kit woke up, sunlight was streaming in through the windows. He could smell the distant whiff of a frittata, probably Aline’s doing.
He was about to get up, but froze when he looked down.
Somehow, during the night, both Kit and Ty had shifted in a way where Ty was half on top of Kit, using his chest as a pillow. Their legs were still tangled together, and one of Kit’s arms was wrapped around Ty’s waist.
He flushed, but before he could do anything, Ty began to stir.
Kit froze, unsure of what to do. What if when Ty woke up, he saw what had happened during the night and was mortified?
Kit was snapped out of his reverie when Ty yawned and opened his eyes.
“How long have you been watching me sleep?” He asked.
Kit flushed an even deeper shade of pink. “I just woke up. I was about to get out of bed when you started to wake up.”
Ty yawned again. He glanced at Kit, his eyebrows furrowing. “Your hair is a mess.”
Self consciously, Kit raised his hand to try and fix it.
Ty watched Kit struggle for a moment.
“Let me do it.”
He hesitated as Ty reached up and began fixing Kit’s hair, his slim fingers raking through his blonde curls. The tips of Kit’s ears slowly turned red as Ty scooted closer to him.
He could feel Ty’s steady breath against his neck as he said, “Okay, I think it looks fine.”
“Thanks.” Kit said abruptly, his cheeks deepening in color. This, of course, did not go unnoticed by Ty.
“Kit? You’re turning pink.” He noted.
He turned pinker. “Yeah. I know.”
Ty sat up next to Kit, so close that their noses were almost touching. Kit could feel his heart speeding up. “People usually blush when they’re embarrassed, but I don’t think it’s that. Is it?” He asked.
“No.”
Ty looked confused. “Then what is it?”
“You.”
Ty’s eyes widened slightly. “Did I do something wrong?”
Kit shook his head. “No, no. It’s not that. It’s just-”
He cut himself off, refusing to finish the sentence.
“Kit?”
“It’s just that…I really want to kiss you right now.” He said truthfully, his face burning. “But I can’t.”
“And why can’t you do that?”
Kit avoided Ty’s gaze. “Because you don’t want that.”
“Kit.” Ty said. “How do you know what I do and don’t want?”
His eyes flickered in Ty’s direction.
“The truth is, you don’t know what other people think.” Ty continued. “You don’t know if Tavvy is as lonely as he appears. You don’t know if Julian really has everything under control all the time.” His gray eyes pierced through Kit. “And the only way to really know how someone feels is through their actions.”
Kit’s heart sped up faster.
“So how do you know that that’s not what I want?”
Kit’s eyes found Ty’s. “I don’t.”
Ty’s eyes flickered.
“Can I kiss you?”
Kit gave a small nod.
Ty hesitantly leaned forward and gently pressed their lips together.
Kit gave a small gasp, his arms automatically wrapping around Ty’s waist. Ty gently raked a hand through his hair, his curls tickling his palm.
It felt as if they were speaking a language that only they knew. Kit lost himself in the push and pull of the gravity between them, the wordless dialogue tearing down the walls he had spent years building between him, between Ty.
When they broke apart, Ty’s face was flushed pink, his lips slightly swollen.
“Oh.” Kit said.
After taking a hot shower, Kit was still not one hundred percent sure that he hadn’t hallucinated the last hour.
His face told him otherwise. His lips felt slightly tingly, he had a permanent blush fixated across his cheeks and ears, and felt like he drank 20 cups of coffee.
After shrugging on a plain black shirt and his signature jacket, he headed down for breakfast in hopes that he could avoid the rest of the Blackthorns.
To his slight dismay, Tavvy and Dru were in the kitchen, eating frittata and laughing.
He quietly poured himself a bowl of cereal as they chatted.
“Julian said that Diana’s coming today.” Tavvy announced.
“Really?” Dru asked. “Isn’t she somewhere off with Gwyn or something?”
“I dunno.” Tavvy said after a moment of consideration. “I miss Diana.”
“I do, too.”
Kit choked on his cereal as Ty walked into the kitchen, wearing a black sweater and jeans.
Ty, upon seeing Kit, froze.
“Do you feel better, Ty?” Asked Tavvy.
Ty cleared his throat, a slight blush creeping into his cheeks. “Yeah, I’m doing better, thanks.”
Dru raised an eyebrow at Kit, who flushed and looked away.
“Ooookay,” Dru said, nodding. “What’s going on?”
“Nothing.” Kit and Ty immediately said.
“Uh huh.” She said, putting her plate in the sink and heading out of the kitchen. “See you later.”
“Wait up, ‘Silla!” Tavvy called, hopping out of his chair and running after her, leaving Ty and Kit alone in awkward silence.
After a moment of silence, Ty motioned towards the door.
“Well, I guess I’ll-”
“Stay. Please.”
Ty looked surprised.
“Kit…”
Kit took a step forward.
“Ty…I have liked you. For a long time. Probably since you held that knife against my throat in my dad’s basement.”
His face was bright pink, but he continued.
“And to tell you the truth…that night before the Cohort’s parley, the night you- I mean we, tried to raise Livvy? I meant it. Every word. I love you, Ty. I’ve loved you and you haven’t known it.”

I have another one I just thought about! 😼This is gonna be a bit long, but I wanna be detailed so I hope you don't mind. So, I have like 209 or so mods on my save, and a majority of the bigger ones are npc or map expansion mods like Sve, ridgeside, eastscarp, adventures guild expanded ect. I get a lot of tasks for basically everything and at no ones fault but my own, but I was wondering how badly that would affect the farmer. I love a little hurt + comfort sometimes, so could you do the sve bachelors reacting to a completely burnt out farmer after they just *snap* and stop doing stuff for everyone? They're already working on their own farm, then they have the guild, mr qi, the island farm, the residents and their needs, everything else to worry about and they've finally taken on too much of a load to carry, so they just break down and stay inside for days, isolating themselves from everyone, their spouse included. I hope you enjoy this one, and have a great day!
*looking at my 90 mods* And I thought that ninety was already a large number... 😅
Have a great as well, dear, and thank you for your ask! ☺️💕
_________________________________________
SVE bachelors react to a burnt-out Farmer who has isolated themself after the breaking point:
Lance:
Lance has long ago gently warned Farmer not to overwork themself during harvest time and adventures. The gallant adventurer knows that they are hard workers, and with a good heart who will not refuse to help people, but there should be some boundaries too. But Farmers didn't listen, and, at the moment of the break, locked themself in their bedroom, completely devastated, burned out and apathetic to everything that was going on. Naturally, Lance would not leave them in such a state. Having quickly done all the work on the farm (thanks to magic), and politely but firmly refusing all the residents a visit to Farmer, Lance cautiously asked permission to enter the bedroom. The pink-haired man began a conversation with his love about their feelings and condition, listening to their venting and providing moral support. He was persistent in helping Farmer get back on their feet: rest, healthy coping mechanisms, learning to say no - under Lance's slightly stern edict, Farmer would once again be that shining sunshine, full of love and joy.
Victor:
Whenever Farmer returned home after another adventure/quest, Victor restlessly noticed that the bags under his favourite person's eyes were getting bigger and bigger. Each day, Farmer returned to dinner so much later that sometimes Victor had to reheat the food. And for every worried look or comment he got, Farmer would just give him tired smile and say, "It's okay, dear". Victor was rolling that phrase around in his head when he found Farmer on the living room floor, completely burnt out from work and errands. No, they weren't okay, and he should have done something about it sooner. Victor blamed himself, but now is not the time to cry - Farmer still needs help, and the spaghetti lover is going to turn on "super caring and loving husband" mode (he was caring and loving before, but now - super!). Rest, massage, no work, moral support, everything! Victor can also suggest they go for a couple of days or even a week to some place for a holiday, and no work! He loves Farmer very much, and although their heart is full of kindness, but learn to refuse help if it's beyond their limits.
Magnus Rasmodius:
Magnus is angry. Not at Farmer, of course, but at himself. Because he missed those moments that screamed to intervene and stop his spouse from sacrificing themself in the name of helping others. He knows this condition very well... If Camilla hadn't pulled young Magnus out from under the mountain of books and manuscripts, he would have gone mad long ago, because he was also a workaholic and couldn't say no to requests, driving himself to constant work and forgetting even to eat/drink/sleep. And here the situation repeats itself, but with Farmer. Rasmodius will resolutely drive everyone away with requests, no matter how urgent, the whole world can wait. Even Camilla will not dare to disturb the couple, remembering Magnus' burnout. The wizard will listen to them, suggest meditation, scold them a little for their attitude to their health, physical and mental. And reminds them that they are the love of his life, and Magnus won't let anyone hurt his partner, not even Farmer themself.

Note
Prompt - Alec being mad at Magnus (something minor, some domestic dispute like not washing the dishes or eating the dessert he'd kept for later in the fridge) and being petty about it ;P
“Will you come to bed?”
He doesn’t get a response. Only a slight huff in return.
Magnus rolls his eyes and pursues his lips, “Alexander. It’s 1 at night. You had a long shift.”
His husband turns over his shoulder and replies in a petulant tone, “Oh, now you remember I had a long shift?”
“You are such a child,” he replies.
If Magnus were to tell the world about the kind of man he is married to, no one would believe him. If were to really tell the world the kind of man, Alexander Gideon Lightwood really is—they would scoff and their eyes would widen with shock and with disdain at Magnus for fueling baseless rumours about their consul.
Because the world knows Alec Lightwood as the stoic but just and fair Consul. Or the abomination.
They don’t know the man behind the doors. Inside their loft.
The shadow world knows Alec, the consul. They don’t know Alec, the husband or the father or the brother.
He thinks that the world is poorer for it.
For Alec like this, with his nose scrunched up and a huge pout on his face is a delight to be with.
“Wow,” Alec says in mock offence. “First you hide something so huge from me, and now you’re calling me a child.”
“Being a child is a wondrous thing, darling,” he teases, just to annoy Alec some more.
“I hate you.”
“For what?” He asks, voice laced with amusement.
“For being a deceitful person.”
“For lying about using magic?”
Alec stands up from the couch, pointing a finger across at Magnus. “No. No. Do not phrase it like I have an issue with magic.”
“Then what’s the issue?”
“I asked you to wash the dishes with hand so that the boys could learn. And you’ve been lying to me about this for the entire week.”
Magnus tries to contain the grin from his face but he fails.
“Max is a warlock and he deserves to learn magic.”
“He does. He also needs to learn how to move from one room to another without magic,” Alec huffs.
“It’s just dishes Alexander.”
“Deceit,” Alec says, exaggeratedly.
Magnus crosses the distance and winds his arms around Alec’s waist. “Come on, come to bed.”
“No. No, absolutely not,” Alec breathes, and releases himself from Magnus’s hold; albeit with great difficulty.
“Are you really going to sleep alone?”
“I love sleeping alone.”
“Without me holding you?” Magnus grins.
“Yes. You’re all over me and suffocate me. I barely survive the nights,” Alec points out, but Magnus can see the crack through his facade.
“Really now?” Magnus raises an eyebrow.
“Hmmm. I didn’t want to hurt your feelings so kept it to myself all these years,” Alec says, a serious pout on his face. “But now that I have found out that I married a liar, I have no reason to keep it a secret.”
“You lie to me plenty, sweetheart.”
“Name one lie,” Alec challenges.
“Yesterday when you said you were ready for round two because you’re so young and have a great body. But I clearly saw you use the stamina runs.”
Alec scoffs indignantly. “I did not.”
Magnus married the pettiest of humans and he loves that.
“Or that time when you told me you were perfectly okay after the hunt but I clearly saw the bruises on your back.”
Alec opens his mouth and then shuts up.
“Or that time when you accidentally said ‘fuck’ in front of Rafael and lied to me about it when he—“
“Okay. Okay,” Alec raises his hand. “Fine.”
“Can we go to bed now?” Magnus laughs.
Alec thinks for a moment before replying. “Fine. But you’re not touching me.”
“Just to be clear, you are allowed to touch me as much as you want, love,” he smirks suggestively.
Magnus drags him to their room because as much as he loves the bantering, he knows Alec is tired and needs to sleep.
His husband creates a wall between them with pillows, separating the two.
He snorts at the pettiness. “You are something else.”
“I just prefer not to bed with liars.”
Alec is relentless if not anything so Magnus gives up, fully knowing it’s going to barely take a few minutes before Alec drags his Magnus’s body behind his.
He lies on his side but immediately shifts closer to Alec, poking his fingers over Alec’s ears.
“Stop.”
“Stop, what?”
He pushes a pillow from between and starts running his dingers through Alec’s hair, pulling a soft hum out of the shadowhunter.
“No touching.”
Magnus smirks because Alec’s body, like it always has, instinctively reacts to his touch and he shifts slightly closer to him.
“You need to sleep.”
“I’m trying. But you’re being annoying.”
He plants a loud kiss on the space right next to Alec’s mouth. “Come on.”
“No.”
“I promise that I will reach the kids to wash the dishes with their hands. Even though, I still do not understand the need for it.”
“Are you lying again?” Alec huffs. “Once a liar. Always a liar.”
“Stop being a baby,” Magnus snorts.
“You’re baby.”
“I know,” he replies. “And you haven’t call me one in two hours and I’m feeling sad now.”
“Lies.”
Magnus groans this time. “Alexanderrrrrrrr.”
“What?”
“Please forgive me,” Magnus accepts defeat, content with the realisation that he’s okay being defeated if it’s Alec on the other side. “I promise to teach our kids good habits.”
Alec turns on his side and looks at Magnus. He raises his finger in his direction, “Pinky Promise?”
He chuckles softly. It’s a thing he started as a joke years ago but has fully become a part of their household now.
You do not break a pinky promise in the Lightwood-Bane household.
“Pinky-promise,” he entwines their fingers, brings their joined fingers to his mouth and places a soft kiss on them.
“Okay.”
“Okay?”
Alec nods. “I forgive you. You are allowed to cuddle me,” he replies, a grin turning on his face.
Magnus jumps on Alec, enveloping the shadowhunter’s body with his and peppers soft, warm, featherlight kisses al over his face. “Alexander, you are such a bitch sometimes.”
Alec breaks into laughter, squealing in between as Magnus keeps on attacking him with kisses.
“You love me.”
Magnus thinks for the nth time that if were to tell the world about this version of his husband, no one would believe him.
But that’s the thing. Magnus doesn’t want to tell the world, or anyone for that matters about this version of him. About the man inside their loft.
He wants to keep this all for himself.
This version of Alec Lightwood— the one who laughs, and cries and acts bitchy, the one Magnus is besottedly in love with, this, belongs to him and only him.

may i request D, M, Y for sve magnus rasmodius? if you dont write for him then elliott is fine!
tysm :]
A/N: I DO! And bc you were so nice I’ll write for both of them <333 both will be on this post!! Luckily for me he is one of those characters that even though in main game he isn’t romanceable I still took the time to bother him.
Tw:sexual content
Alphabet Post Masterlist
Rasmodius
D-Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
I feel like when he first gained an interest in you he began watching you. Like obviously he’s not following you around, but I think with his magic it’s possible that he just watches you from his tower at all times. Low key creepy but then again he’s a wizard that has been alone for a long time. He tries hard to give you privacy but if you start doing something…on the more sexual side while he’s watching it’s not his fault.
M-Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
You. Your scent, your looks, just you. As I said he’s been lonely for a while and being lonely for that long and finding someone that wants him for him even when he was being an ass means that just about everything you do is attractive to him. The fact that you want him at all is enough to get him going.
Y-Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
If I am being honest I think our resident wizard has a VERY high libido. With him having an ex wife and in my opinion having smashed Caroline, I think when he has a significant other he always wants to smash. However I think that when Caroline went back to Pierre and before you starting being in a relationship with him I think he would do some magic to make it go away.
Elliott
D-Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
Writes smut of you. Like when he first becomes friends with you, you live in his mind RENT FREE. he spends a lot of time writing about you, making you the main character in his romance novels. Obviously he would change names, but when he writes one and finishes it he asks you for your opinion on it. He ascends if you like his writing.
M-Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
Similar to Rasmodius, it’s you in all your glory that gets him going, that added with his imagination gets him ready to fuck. Also if you praise him in any way whatsoever he is ready, if you’re needy he’s ready, if you want him in any way he is ready. He also sometimes wakes up because he had a really good dream and needs to act it out right away.
Y-Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
I think he has a relatively high libido. But only when he’s dating. I don’t think he is a sexual man all the time, there’s just something about you that makes him horny and he can’t control it. I also think that when he gets in his writing moods his libido goes down unless you make it clear that you are needy.

OKAY HERE WE GO
In a season that heavily hangs with issues of power dynamics and class, Sam meets his match in Rowena, and he immediately enters into a power struggle with her.
In his dogged pursuit TO FIX THE THING, Sam is becom like Magnus, like Mr. Cuthbert. In his trying to tame Rowena this season, he becomes the most MEN OF LETTERS he have ever seen him:
Tumblr media
The Men of Letters is the masculine-stereotyped "Warlock," the match to the often feminine-stereotyped Witch.
They hoard knowledge and manipulate others to do their dirty work. (Importantly: Because they've been hurt, and because they're afraid.)
Tumblr media
We think back to the line in Paint it Black:
OLIVETTE: Hoarding unbelievable power for their own amusement. Smug, self-righteous bastards. The Men of Letters. ... ROWENA: I see the truth, and it’s pathetic. You let these Men Of Letters pillage the greatest trove of magical secrets in the world and did nothing.
///
We see in The Werther Project what happens when a MoL goes "bad:"
Tumblr media
///
A Man of Letters isn't just a class divide here; it's set up to be Rowena's natural enemy.
The MAN OF LETTERS one of Rowena's symbolic bulls. Sam is a "bull" to her flaming "matador."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But when faced with him, Rowena doesn't know quite what she wants to do. Kill the bull? Subdue the bull?
Tumblr media
Ride the bull?
///
Rowena can't help but be intrigued.
And ah, look. It's the symbolic family diner... They are flanked by checkerboards, not dartboards. For better or worse, The family diner is the Family Diner for a reason. I think it's notable that they're meeting here and not there. (You'd expect them to meet in a more neutral SPN space, like *bar/Roadhouse of Good Pals.")
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyhoo, immediately we see that Sam doesn't balk at Rowena's monstrosity. He isn't even taken aback by her darkest of motivations/emotions:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She certainly looks taken aback.
When she looks at him, she sees an ugliness.
(Crucially, it is what DRIVES this ugliness that will really wind up drawing her closer to Sam in the end).
///
For now, they start trying to impress each other with their brains.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her initial instinct is to flutter and try to impress him.
///
When she reveals she can't read the book in its present form without a codex, Sam immediately starts his power play, shutting the book.
Tumblr media
This forces her to parry, and parry she does!
Flawlessly:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ROWENA: "You're desperate. You can stop pretending you're not."
As they talk business, both of their eyebrows rise, interested despite trying not to be:
*eyebrow raise*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
///
She talks of a witch who was victimized, Nadya:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this further underlines what will become their power struggle. Sam will become his worst self, putting the boot on her neck, becoming the worst kind of MAN OF LETTERS.
///
Later, Sam calls her, and she can't help it, but she's excited. She's quick to match brains with him, and what leaks out?
Her desperate need for friends that challenge her.
And he's intrigued, too, but the lure of their mutual dark ambition.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Great. Thanks."
Tumblr media
Sensing a GOODBYE, Rowena is startled to discover that she doesn't want him to hang up. (Rowena is, at heart, a loser who has to struggle making friends.)
She stammers, then she practically engages in a bit of HAIR TWIRLING HERE:
Tumblr media
He shuts her down: "I'll take my chances."
She scoffs, disappointed.
///
Ultimately, she can't resist trying to goad and challenge Sam—to "Toro, Toro" him and try to tame what he represents.
We see Crowley do this, too. His play is to goad and mouth off, especially when he's bitten off more than he can chew and is trying to convince everyone that he's "the top in the relationship."
///
As for the rest of the episodes...
Sam's subconscious knows that witchcraft can be incredibly evil, but he can't help want to strive for ambition, for power, for hidden knowledge, for EVERYTHING. Sam is like a Solomonari in this way. The SCHOLOMONAR. (Tradition says they became the Devil's students, either being instructed by him, or becoming a servant to his commands It's actually a bit different when you get deeper, but that's at least the Westernized version of it.)
As Dean longs for a "simple" world of 24/7-360 total war where he does warfare "all he's good for" without consequence, Sam longs for a world where he can think and strive to achieve ANYTHING without consequence.
A world where Sam can admire Rowena's and Mr. Cuthbert's brains without feeling guilty:
ROWENA (figment): "I know what I'd said about your kind (Men of Letters), but oh. The man who came up with this? The craftsmanship of the box, the sadism of the spellwork... It's all so... deliciously baroque."
Tumblr media
There is a direct line being drawn between Sam... and Magnus. (And Rowena, tangentially.)
In Sam's mindscape, he gets to do what he feels he is good for: the pursuit of knowledge. Dean is the ultimate soldier without the need for decision-making, and Sam wants to be the ultimate librarian without consequence.
With that in mind, he also wants to impress Rowena, to impress someone who's brain he found impressive:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He wants to crack a code with her. Together. To show her that he knows things, can figure out things.
But he's also in a (sexual) power struggle with her. Thus, the need for witch-killing bullets... and to see her in chains.
