I forgot how much I like mag 14 Piecemeal. It's so much fun. It's got such great campfire story/ urban legend vibes. Angela is such a great avatar too. She's just vibing, cursing people, and doing puzzles. Also first appearance of Salesa as just a random background character.

im going to give you a part from chapter 8, partly because i really wanted to show you it compiled together instead of just strings of sentences at the beginning:

Growing frantic now, Jon shakes his head vehemently: No, no, no, no, no–

“Then what?”

“…chased me – deceit – follow me” – a skip backwards – “read it – tried to read me back–”  

“Jon, slow down,” Georgie says, sensing his onrush of panic – but he can’t.

“I’ve been tricked into–”  

“–unable to look away–”  

“–there was now a tragedy to it that flowed from the words–”  

“–nothing to do but fall into it – it felt right, like it was all I could do–”  

The words come in a halting staccato, his mind speeding through statement after statement without him like a microfiche machine caught on fast-forward.

“–even as I did so, in the back of my mind I hated myself–”  

“–I didn’t stop, though – didn’t know what to do, and my mind was swimming with – the collective horror of all the things that I had seen and felt–”

The selection of the Swedish Frida Johansson two posts before and its unbelievable almost...100 000 notes (!!!!) is the opportunity for me to speak about a problem. It deserves to be in YWAMag and that’s why it is here. But, without any offense to Frida, a very good Swedish photographer who has often been in the mag for years, it has nothing revolutionary. I’ll take several brilliant photographers who are on Tumblr and who have big YWAMag galleries :

-Me (sorry ! By the way, you haven’t seen me in the mag since a Tumblr change about 4 years ago for a technical reason) : I have never had more than 200 notes or something like that, during my first Tumblr years (2 015, mainly) when I was not boycotted yet especially by Lensblr, so my rare selections there reached that score. My notes’ amount is usually between 25 and 80. I have exhibited about ten times, in 4 capital cities. This to say that Tumblr/web success has nothing to see with real value, and with the stuff you do for your professional work and recognition.

-Peter Solarz (USA) : his Tumblr has started to have success only about three years ago, with some images reaching thousands of notes, always processed nature images. A specific photographer like me, not aiming what is called the extraordinary, but mainly composition and to transcend the things people don’t see.

-Purple Time Space Swamp (USA) : as Peter and me, based on composition. Unknown here and there, except by the mag. Usually has between 0 notes and 5.

-Peter Pollmanns (Dothob, Germany) : comparable to all of us, especially to me and Peter. Brilliant, kind of same notes’ ratio as me. Counter-example : the young Finnish Mila Mai, spectacular landscapes, huge amount of notes, often thousands. Harassed by a young Finnish looney, finally erased her Tumblr and disappeared about three years ago. It seems that she came back with a pseudonym but I couldn’t swear. Hi to all, As said when my computer broke "by magic" last Friday, I can't work on photo anymore (except with a camera ? Well there's also something - nevermind) nor post on sites with images that appear with ten levels of overexposure and all colors pale as an ass that hasn't seen the sun for 20 years on this fucking Hewlett Packard.

Artists working on Microsoft, if you have this problem and you keep these shitty comps, YOU have a problem. This is valid for galerists, museum staffs, art journalists, etc. Gates has created a sick world which is clearly NOT for us, in spite of his permanent "philanthropic" declarations - and this will take you to one of my last French texts about another "huge philanthrope". This computer stuff is literally unbearable as it's available - not available - I understand myself and the interested too. What is the panorama of my websites ?

-Instagram : Has been unavailable because of a technical problem since November 2 021. 500 followers lost, you know, when someone is not here anymore even if somewhere else, people act like that. I'd never think of doing this, but people are people. -YWAMag Fb : unavailable, as our shared Fb with Anne, which was largely used for the Fb Choice of the Day of the mag, since Anne's kidnapping (August 2 021). Yes she's free now, but the boxes are full of forced prostitution stuff and she refuses that I see this. -YWAMag Tumblr : unavailable since a technical change by Tumblr (last September). I don't know, as explained there, how to change the template that Anne had installed, and she's not able to do this for the moment. Anyway what will the mag be with about 50 of the best photographers of the mag having been clients of Anne as a forced prostitute, the gang's goal in this field being to destroy the mag ?

-Flickr : fine, just waiting for my computer to be gotten back -My Fb : writing, information, shared art, etc. Don't go there if you hate facts and are a collaborationnist with zero desire of getting out of your psychosis.

-Twitter or X : same as my personal Fb, though, not very used except on some periods as the current one, but always essential informations in several languages. Very few personal posts by me. Again, not interesting for collaborationnists.

-My Lens Culture : currently unfed but you have a part of my bio (half of the photo one), reduced by half by the staff without consent

-My Cargo Collective : a high level selection of my photo work, stopped ten years ago. I was more spectacular and accessible then.

After one year of pause, Yes We Are Magazine has now been back but only on Tumblr for more than three months, daily as usual. The Fb version is unfortunately still on pause as it’s my disappeared wife and collaborator Anne Pangolin Guéno who has the keys and refuses to give them when it’d be very nice for all of us to have the Fb version of the mag functioning.

For the newcomers, just watch a few pages to get the stuff, what it’s about, the level, the style, the spirit. And/or go to the “about”.

It’s mainly a photo magazine without a lot of blah blah, and mainly compositional analyses when they have to be made - yet all the main directions have been explained in this field over the years, so I don’t have much to say about it now.

For the visual artists (mainly painters) : you are welcome, as usual. The feature which had existed in 2 018/19 (The Tri-Weekly Most Successful YWAMag selection) has been back for several weeks. From 2 015 to 2 018 or 19 I have had 4 collaborators with their Weekly Selection. This feature is gonna be back soon with a newcomer. The files still have to be sent here between 1Mb and 4. All secure, no one has ever complained about that.

The interviews, of which you can see some on ISSUU, are waiting for Anne’s come back. I don’t have the graphic design skills to make the visual part.
