“What do I do?” Peter asked, hovering in an anxious cloud over Jaskier’s shoulder.

It took him two tries to find his voice rasping in his throat after such a long silence.  “Hold him,” he told him.  “I need to get it out.”

His hands shook as he tore through the thin fabric of Geralt’s shirt to expose the wound.  Once upon a time, he imagined the feral sort of satisfaction of being able to touch the alpha so freely, but never under these circumstances.  The strength that usually simmered beneath the surface of his skin was faint now, barely a ripple across what was once a great sea.  Jaskier’s fingers traced over the fluttering pulse at the base of Geralt’s neck and gave himself exactly one moment to steady himself against his mate before he did what needed to be done.

“Don’t let him move too much,” Jaskier said.  “This will hurt him.”

Peter’s eyes were wide and beginning to glaze with shock, but the younger wolf didn’t flinch away from what they were about to do.  He swallowed hard and braced himself over the alpha, pinning his arms to the wooden floor.

Jaskier took a breath and whispered too softly for Peter to hear, “I’m sorry.”

Then he began to cut.

A small breath exits his mouth before collapsing in front of you.

"Daemon," you whisper, kneeling down beside him. He was wise enough to lose consciousness inside the house. His eyelids flutter, a humorous chuckle escapes his lips. "Not mine, I promise." he wiped the blood off his chest, spreading it on the floor.

He vowed to protect you - to never allow harm to befall his wife and daughters - he'd be damned if he let that promise slip.

"The Hightower's men, they tried to fucking ambush us in our own home." he cursed, staring deep into your eyes and letting the moment remain. There will be time to clean - but right now, his only intention was to tell you everything he knew.

"The fucking cook. The fucking cook." he repeated while unloading his gun. "Did you take care of him?" you inquire, wiping the crimson stain away from his platinum locks. "I did more than that," he joked, holding onto your shoulders while he stood up.

"Let's get you cleaned," you breathed, dusting your knees and following after him up the stairs.

Your husband and his group called themselves the 'Dragons' - reminiscent of his family's banners in the olden days. It was said that the Targaryens commanded dragons and ruled the world with an iron fist - looking at your husband, it wasn't hard to believe that.

"Do you have any idea how hard it is to get blood of white shirts?" you raise an eyebrow, scrubbing his chest with a pink loofa. "Have the maids clean it." he replied, closing his eyes and allowing your hands to provide him with the sensations that he craved.

"- but I like washing your clothes." you hummed, smiling as his eyes opened to meet yours. He raised his hand - cupping your cheeks. "I did this so those pretty little hands of yours never touch laundry again. You are too dutiful," he mumbled - in disbelief that you were married to him. "And you are too hard-headed," you answer, reaching down to drain the bath then refill it again.

Daemon was handsome and smart - an interesting paradox of a human being. He was the perfect mixture of dangerous and dedicated - and the most important thing is; he was yours.

Yours to command.

Yours to take, and yours to obey.

There was silence between the both of you - and in spite of the smile on your lips, he knew that you were unhappy. "We'll get out of this life, I promise." he comforted, feelings your hands on his back. "You're right, this isn't the kind of life that Baela and Rhaena should have." he mumbled, waiting for a reply.

You continued rubbing the blood off his fingers.

Silence was a better answer.

"Once I get rid of the Hightowers - we'll follow Rhaenyra to America. We'll build a life for ourselves. Far away from this." he promised, pressing a kiss on your bare shoulder. "And we'll buy you a house, eh?" he smiled.

"I just wish that I never worry about your safety - never think about whether or not you're dead." you confess, eyes narrowing at stains underneath his fingernails.

"Let me worry about dying, but right now you're the boss' fucking wife - you have to own it." he cursed.

He paints a small smile on your face.

“Are you hungry?” he asked the wolf in a soft voice, “I can–”

Before he could finish the thought, a door along the hallway slammed open and a man tumbled into sight. Geralt was already moving to place himself between the threat and Jaskier before recognizing the wild eyes and terrified hope of Aiden.

The other wolf looked haggard and exhausted beyond what his enhanced senses could heal. There was blood still staining his shirt along one side and dirt streaking through his hair, but he only seemed to have eyes for the wolf at Geralt’s side. Aiden took a step forward and whined in an inhuman voice when Jaskier took a matching step away.

“Jaskier,” Aiden whispered, uncaring of the tear dripping down one cheek. “I thought…”

I am obsessed with AvoidingAverage's fic An Offer You Can't Refuse. And want to expand on the werewolf mafia, lol so this is what i have so far for ideas.

"There's a hierarchy in this town,  it's not politicians or the rich at the top of the food chain, but the supernatural pulling the strings." Which follows -insert character here -a recently turned werewolf learning that they really didn't understand their city as well as they thought. (The idea was either Jaskier, my oc Kassandra or Ciri being the recently turned werewolf and pseudo following them. ) Kaer Morhen Pack Vesemir- retired werewolf hunter - Raised Geralt and Co Geralt - werewolf  pack alpha Eskel -werewolf second Lambert - werewolf youngest Coen - werewolf (Loosely aligned to Geralt ) (List of unnamed underlings werewolves) others

Aiden - rogue werewolf (Very loosely aligned to anyone) I just love the idea of Vesemir who probably killed Lamber's like abusive werewolf father after said father killed Lambert's human mother. Found a recently turned Eskel - who shouldn't have lived or turned after being mauled by a werewolf.

And Geralt -stealing from TeenWolf - a True Alpha. lol no But like maybe born under a prophesied moon. Born or bitten into a rare blood line maybe?

From one to five stars, how would you rate your writing? (No downplaying yourself!)

        I’d say a 3.5. I’m proud of my work, but there’s always room to grow and improve. 

2. What do you think makes your writing stand out from other works?

        I think my writing style focuses a lot on the complexity of the inner emotions the characters feel. I like to take a lot of time fleshing out their inner selves that way when there’s dialogue or they commit a specific act, readers are able to say to themselves “yea, this is very them”. All in all, I like a lot of emotion. 

3. Are there any writers that inspire you?

        My fellow writers café members inspire me! Everyone has such different styles and ideas, it really makes me want to be more innovative. I don’t really have any specific muses, to be honest–the fanfiction fandom in general makes me want to write and see my ideas developed.

4. What’s the fic you’re most proud of?

        “Take Me Into Your Arms, Siren’s Call” and “Dance In The Dark”. 

5. Which character(s) do you find easiest to write and which do you find most difficult to write?

        Steve Rogers for sure is my easiest. I love that man with my entire being and have dissected him and my interpretation of him so many times. I find Geralt of Rivia a bit difficult to write, hence why there’s no work for him.

6. Who or what do you find yourself writing about most?

        There’s not really a who, more like a what–my emotional wounds. Writing is used as a tool for me to not only bring my ideas to life, but use them as vessels to work out these emotions and proverbially close that chapter of my life by turning them into something positive.

        I have a very cute “Spy x Family” meets “The Incredibles” one shot for Miguel O’Hara in the works featuring Filipina!Reader, Gabriella O’Hara, and reader’s daughter hehe

        I’m really gonna expose myself here…it was for Black Veil Brides LMAOOOO 

9. Any guilty pleasure trope(s)?

        GIRL (gender neutral); black cat gf x golden retriever bf, the mean one being soft for the sunshine one, enemies to lovers, reincarnation. 

10. A trope you’ll never, ever write for.

        Mafia/mob boss. I have one singular wip with that trope and after that, I’m retiring it. Cannot stand it, no offense. 

11. Wildest fic you’ve ever written?

        Definitely my demon! Lee Bodecker and ghost!Steve Rogers fics. Those were RIDES.

12. Favorite pairing to write for? (platonic or romantic!)

ENEMIES TO LOVERS, BLACK CAT GF x GOLDEN RETRIEVER BF, and THE GRUMPY ONE BEING SOFT FOR THE SUNSHINE ONE. I clearly have a preference. 

13. Do you listen to anything while you write?

        Either bossanova, classical music, jazz, lo-fi, or a playlist I made specifically for whatever I’m writing.

14. One-shots or multi-chaptered works?

I don’t have a preference tbh. they’re both very impactful, it just depends on the plot in question. 

15. Have you ever daydreamed about side adventures/spin-offs from your fic? Tell us about them!

yES ALL THE TIME. especially for fluff pieces with family dynamics, I always wanna create little side drabbles in the style of “modern family” like they have their very own sitcom. 

16. Is there anything you’ve wanted to write, but you’ve been too scared to try?

writing for Geralt of Rivia. The deep lore for The Witcher seems like a lot of ground to cover. 

17. What’s the nicest comment you’ve ever received?

I can’t remember anything specific, but my fic “Take Me Into Your Arms, Siren’s Call” received a good amount of super meaningful feedback from Filipino readers that meant a lot to me. They expressed how much it meant for them to be seen, especially in a fantasy-fairy tale like story that incorporated our culture.

18. Have you ever gone outside of your comfort zone for a fic? How did it turn out?

Yes, lore building for “Take Me Into Your Arms, Siren’s Call”! I’ve never written anything in the fantasy genre, so that was definitely a challenge. It turned out amazing. I loved writing it and that fic is one that is near and dear to my heart. 

19. Tooth-rotting fluff or merciless angst?

I’m a fucking baby and I can only have angst if it’s followed with fluff…..but I do love angst.

20. Do you have any OCs? Tell us about them!

EEEEEE I currently have one OC for a re-write of my series called “Keeping Up With The Starks”. Her name is Camila Santos Stark, a Filipina-American who is the only daughter of Tony Stark. She’s a spoiled heiress but is definitely a no-nonsense woman who you do not want to underestimate. She’s described by others around her as the rational version of Tony–the snark is there, but so are a bunch of other characteristics that Tony doesn’t possess. Steve Rogers is her love interest. He thought she was a spoiled brat, but look who fell in love!

21. If you could enter the universe of any one of your fics, which would it be and why?

Definitely “Take Me Into Your Arms, Siren’s Call” – it’s pure fantasy which sounds amazing. Plus, Namor! 

22. Is there anything you wish your audience knew about your writing or writing process?

Eh, there’s nothing really interesting going on behind the scenes–I just write at night with a candle lit.

Any comments on the Game Awards announcements ?

Never played Mafia 3 because of how repetitive the gameplay loop was despite initially being interested in the story. The Old Country is a neat premise but I’m holding off until I know more about how it actually plays

A rogue like Elden Ring game? Not my thing but that’s cool. Probably will wait until the next RPG from From personally

In addition to the Naughty Dog yearly rerelease of a TLOU game in a different format, we finally see their new IP! It looks… fine I guess? Pretty generic if I’m being honest. I do not care about celebrity voice actors Druckmann, move full time to Hollywood if you just want to make movies (all the brand placement too felt jarring and ridiculous).

Borderlands 1, 2, and Pre-Sequel were guilty pleasures of mine, but 3 was awful. Even for Borderlands the story sucked and the gameplay mechanics don’t hook you in with how many looter shooters there are these days.

The Outer Worlds 2 made me laugh. Looks like an improvement on the first one gameplay wise when it comes to shooting which is welcome. Betting id has been helping out. I really hope Bethesda was able to share the ship flight/customization/combat tech from Starfield with Obsidian, that is the one aspect of Starfield I absolutely loved and it’s what kept me playing Starfield for dozens of hours. Obsidian did a survey way back then and if they implement everything they talked about in there then I think this could be a ME1 -> ME2 style gameplay upgrade. Story wise they need to avoid how repetitive they got with TOW1, once I realized every single zone followed the same set up of “here’s the incompetent male boss and his hyper competent female subordinate who actually runs things” it soured me on the game somewhat. Either someone at Obsidan was taking shots at the leads or they were extremely lazy. Biggest improvement I’m hoping for is the companions

CIRI’S BACK! Extremely excited for that! Looks like she traded in her Elder Blood powers for Witcher mutations. Guessing they’ll handwave it with stopping the White Frost draining her powers, but I would actually like to have an “Elder Blood” skill tree. Looks like she’ll get access to some new Signs and equipment Geralt didn’t have if the trailer is at all indicative of how they want the game to play. When a new Witcher School got announced I had thought for sure we would get a custom Witcher, but I’m cool with Ciri taking over from Geralt. I’m amused at all the people who started with W3 and getting their first taste on how CDPR rolls. Yes they’re probably going to override your choices, they did that in every Geralt game. Remember ending up with Triss in W2 no matter if you chose Shani in W1? No Ciri probably won’t look the way in the game that she does in the trailer. CDPR constant fiddles with how the protagonist looks up until the game releases. Geralt in game doesn’t look like the Cinematic Trailer Geralt, Fem V got a complete rework from how she looked when first revealed, etc. Yes CDPR is “breaking the lore” but they always did that. Remember Alvin? Remember how Ciri was never the Messiah, it was her son who was supposed to be important? Never got mentioned in W3, nor did they bring up Emhyr’s plan to impregnate his daughter or False Ciri. Remember how you could break Geralt and Yen up permanently in W3 if you felt like it? All those were major lore breaks. Hell there even being monsters at all in W3 was a major lore break.

Only thing I am disappointed by is Ciri getting a new VA. Jo Wyatt crushed it in W3, big mistake not to bring her back imo.
