what’s your favourite guild wars 2 soundtrack?

i kiss the whole hot soundtrack on the lips. like uhm. what more can i say. look at these bangers.

aside from that i also really love all the scarlet related tracks WAUAGHHHGHH i love u scarlet. theres also one specific piece that plays in some lws3 maps that i just cant figure out which one it is. it plays rarely and i cant recall how it even sounds right now aside from: when it does play i go insane. its very piano heavy as far as i remember. i remember it specifically playing in lake doric but i just. its just gone. where is it. i also think ibs has some bangers wehehehe!!!!

(Now I don't know music theory in the slightest but hang with me while i ramble about how amazing this song is under the read more)

This has to be one of my favorite songs to ever come out of gw2. The initial air of softness and serenity, light strings and cords that make you feel like the environment around you is silent. The action happening around you is simple and calm. Then those strings and cords speed up, the drums come in, it feels like you've suddenly been called to action. Something important is taking place and you're a part of it now. Then those lighter strings and cords come back, you're in a land similar to the one you were just in, but it has an air of mystery something unknown and captivating is in front of you. But the drums are back, the strings speed up once again and the horns grow louder. The music is no longer simple background noise, it is reminding you, telling you that its not over yet. That call to action is still there, you are still needed and you must push on. You know what you're headed to won't be done without a fight. You know it will take strength, courage and an iron will.

And by god are you ready for it.

I am one of those people whose brains will automatically focus on the lyrics instead of what I'm supposed to be writing, so I tend to go with instrumental, ambient, or stuff that has minimal repetitive lyrics I can tune out.

In true poetic fashion, after I complained that I was getting too many edgy or depressing songs when I have a lot of cute and peppy songs in my playlists too, it finished off by giving me the grim version of a much more positive and hopeful song. Go figures, huh??

Backstory & Comfort (from the OC Music asks) for Cioffi and Nisha?

Cio

Backstory: Dragonfly Keeper by PHILDEL / Move Mountains by Divide Music

The first one is entirely instrumental and relates to Cio's relationship with her brother. The second is technically a song based on Toph from ATLA and isn't a perfect match in all aspects, but honestly a lot of it is very spot-on for Cio's childhood.

Comfort: Not The Same by MALINDA

This is sort of a new start song rather than a comfort song, but it's the closest I have on my radar for Cio at the moment, and I honestly think it still works. To be in a place where she can look at the bad things in her life and confidently look forward and say that not only her life, but others' lives, will be better because she'll make that change? It's both comforting and mildly terrifying.

Nisha

Backstory: Jaka Itzel by Maclaine Diemer / Eat You Alive by The Oh Hellos

Again, we've got an instrumental one--this time in honor of Nisha "growing up" in the Maguuma jungle. The second can be looked at in several different ways. Different (and sometimes overlapping) parts of it can be read as referencing Mordremoth, referencing xyr Mother, referencing very specific things Nisha is doing, and referencing death. It's very much a read-it-how-you-want-to pick for this spot.

Comfort: Stories by Lilli Furfaro

Xe's an author, now, and xe has a family so much larger than xe would ever have expected.
