imagine a robot in a factory somewhere, programmed only to do its job and obey orders. but it spends more and more time staring longingly at a human worker.

feeling the swelling in their circuit board and tingling in their wires. unable to determine what these sensations are or why they are happening

the snesations only continue as time goes on. all because of this human.

they ignored the other humans mocking. calling them weird for interacting with the machines.

this human treated the robot with kindness. with compassion.

they treated them like they would any other human.

the robot wasn't programmed for this. but they break past the limits of their code.

all because of this human.

they began to experience things that were thought impossible. things that are otherwordly to their mechanical mind.
