I initially only needed two papers, for their sing-off paper and for the one that showed that they were married, but I just couldn’t stop coming up with shit. I browsed through my Pride musical playlist for it and I very much love the Gay or European? one. The “I support gay rights but I also support gay wrongs” was added last minute so that I could give an even amount of papers with Kurt as the first author and also I once said that I would love to call my paper that, if I ever were to do research on queer(coded) villians and morally ambigious characters (we call them MACs, which makes me think of McDonalds).

Fun fact, I also found out after publishing the fic that Journal of Theater Studies is real. It’s a journal that publishes everything in Chinese, though.

That’s it. 530 means nothing, I needed another number. 12 - 21 isn’t an episode reference, but it is a nod to Klainer 12/21.

This does mean that all their papers are unrealistically short. Damn, I wish all academic papers were this short cause it’d save me a lot of time. The 51 - 68 is believable, so is the 514 - 530 (cause hey 530 refers to nothing), but even then they’re short. But you know what they say. It is my fanfic and I get to decide the reality of the situation.

Is it viable to read only a handful of Venom's best comics instead of the entire history of the character? If so, what are the must read issues/volumes for someone new to his comics?

i would say generally yes, you can get by reading only the essentials, since a good chunk of their appearances are one-offs that are moderately to completely inconsequential to the main “core” of venom. most people will not read the Entire History of the Character Including All Minor Appearances. i'm just a weirdo

as for a list of comics, i have to give this disclaimer: be aware that i haven't read any comics past like, 2013, so i know a few runs in the late 2010s were good and essential, but i haven't read them yet so i cannot in good conscience add them to my list just yet

now that that's out of the way, here's my list

This is a list of the most utterly essential comic issues and runs in terms of either character development or plot development. I can make a longer list of my general recommendations that also includes some comics I think are good and worth reading, but aren't essential if you choose to skip them, just shoot me another ask and I can compile it there

If you want my list of Literally Every Single Venom Appearance that I've consumed so far, here's my Venom Megadoc (sorted only by story-chronological order, has no special emphasis on importance, starts falling apart and getting messy towards the late 90s/early 00s though). The vast majority of issues listed are for 616 but I also have a section at the end for non-616 universes, including movie appearances, and hopefully some time in the future I will also include TV show appearances there.

For reading comics online, my main two websites are readcomicsfree.net and readcomiconline.li. Use an adblocker for both. Some comics may not load properly on readcomicsfree (I have this issue mainly with ASM) so you may need to switch between websites when reading.

Good Friday! We arrived to find a spacious parking lot with lots of available spaces. We entered and were warmly welcomed by the hostess. Nothing like a smile and friendly hospitality to start things off right! We perused the beer selection board. Something for everybody! Hold up though… there’s an Irish bar in south Buffalo playing country music?! Didn’t see that coming! We were seated in their side room. How come there is no wait on one of the biggest fish fry nights of the year at 5:30pm?!? Our server Molly was a sweetheart and promptly got our beers and took our orders. There was a whole page of fish options, all cod. The beer battered was a good size piece. Nice light, golden, crispy crust. I must admit, when I took my first bite I was in love. Ready to give it a ten. But as I worked my way from the end of the fish to the middle the batter got a little doughy. I think it just needed just a bit longer in the fryer. (8.5) Tartar had a lot of pickle kick and flavor. Dinner came with a half piece of rye bread on top. This place has 6 side choices and you get to pick 3! The Fries were skin on steak fries(9). Mac salad was elbow macaroni and celery featuring a mix of poppy seed and salad dressing. Different but a bit bland. (8) German potato salad had big chunky potatoes with quite the vinegar bite. A wee bit dry for my taste.(7) Lazy pierogis was the best of all the choices. Rotini noodles with mushrooms in cream sauce.(8) I was so disappointed they were out of coleslaw! Just that fact that all their sides are homemade makes me happy. The side portions were HUGE! Overall, I give them an 8.5. I would definitely recommend giving them a try. The owner noticed me taking pictures and came over to make sure everything was ok. He has two lovely young ladies, Abby and Dawn cooking in the kitchen that came out to say “hi” as well. Beautiful and can cook? That’s pretty fantastic! My only recommendation is add American potato salad to the menu. Fish frys in buffalo have to feature the traditional “holy trinity” of slaw, mac, and potato salad to score high. I do love that they have the other options as well. A real bonus, that sets them apart! Please note: this is a cash only establishment! I will be back to try their slaw and bring the crew! Stop in. They will take great care of you!

Yesterday was my day off! I mainly disregarded cutting screentime, cause instead of sitting on the couch watching TV. I'm chronically online and really only need YouTube, if anyone has show recommendations though, I'm open to hearing them!!

I wasn't able to calorie cut as much as I'd like, had 3 square meals even though they were a bit strange (beans with a side scoop of Mac n cheese) but I haven't 'gained'. Hard to tell what's lost and what's gained on a day by day but, it helps!!!

As for drawing, I found a shameless 30 day challenge with a bunch of ideas!! I might do that next month ;) who knows!!

This year, he is expected to deliver with both the bat and the ball, given his red-hot form.

MacAlistair Wright:

Mac Wright is a leg spinner and a dependable middle-order batsman who plays for the Tasmania under-23 side. His Big Bash stats are certainly not stunning. Before the 2023 edition, he scored 351 runs in 15 matches at a decent strike rate of 122 and took one wicket at an economy rate of 10.60. But he has had a fine start to the 2023 edition, scoring 152 runs in 3 matches at a 50+ average and a 136+ strike rate. You should keep an eye out for this young allrounder, given the start he has had.

Ollie Davies:

Power-hitter Ollie Davies started his Big Bash journey in 2020 with a decent outing – displaying a rare combination of explosiveness and finesse. Before 2023, he scored 604 runs in Big Bash at an average of 23, with three half-centuries and a top score of 65. In a recent players’ poll conducted by Cricket Australia before the start of the marquee event, in which 35 players voted, Ollie received 3% voting in favor of becoming the player of the tournament.

Sam Harper:

Sam Harper is an explosive wicketkeeper-batsman who had a memorable outing in the 2022-2023 Big Bash season. He has been a reliable performer for all teams he represented with the bat and gloves behind the wicket during his first-class career. Once touted as one of the brightest talents in Australia, he is yet to set the stage alight, but this could be his breakthrough season.

Nick Hobson:

Nick Hobson, a stylish left-handed batsman, will be seen in Perth Scorchers jersey colors in the 2023-2024 Big Bash league. Before the 2023 season, Hobson scored 268 runs in the competition with a highest score of 46. Hobson has captained the Claremont-Nedlands side in domestic T20 competitions and has been their batting mainstay at the top. While he has not replicated his domestic cricket form in Big Bash, he could prove naysayers wrong with a stellar outing.

Blog 4

I recently visited the 317 Main Street, a restaurant in Farmingdale, NY. It's considered a “craft kitchen” and fits into the contemporary/casual category. Their menu features both traditional American and culturally inspired dishes that have an elevated twist. Some of their offerings include: Mac and Cheese, Burgers,Tacos, Ribs, and Soup Dumplings. The restaurant’s location is key in its success, as it is centralized in Farmingdale Village, a popular town for socialization, shopping, and dining. For a menu that features largely American cuisine, the pricing is high in my opinion, but that is likely because their food is part of the experience. Their “Monster Burger” is $24.00, but features two burger patties, chorizo, and a fried egg. 

The staff was incredibly nice and respectful, which is part of the reason my family and I have chosen to eat here more than once. The other patrons reflect my own background, white families that are generally wealthy, but that can be attributed to the fact that most of Long Island in general fit this description. The clientele in the restaurant feels familiar… almost as if everyone there knows each other. The community atmosphere is a key part of the experience when you go to 317 Main.

“Have you ever thought about what our kids would look like?” Nate asks you. The two of you were lying in bed, the TV on in the background even though you weren’t paying attention. Your head was on his chest, his arm wrapped around you, his fingers lazily grazing up and down your arm.

“Can’t say I have,” you respond, not really sure where he was going with this conversation.

“What did you look like when you were younger?”

You strain your neck to look at him. “Like this but younger? Why?”

“Well I need to know if you looked cute when you were a child. What if our kids were ugly?” “Nathan!” you yell, praying he was joking. Based on the stupid grin that was covering his face, you were sure he was. “That doesn’t matter, you would love them anyway.”

“Yeah, but I need to see what you looked like when you were little.”

You roll your eyes at him, reaching over him to grab his phone from the other side of him. “You’re insufferable sometimes, I swear,” you mutter under your breath. “My mom and dad have posted some stuff on Facebook, old pictures for my birthday and stuff,” you tell him, searching through their pages.

“Aw, you had a bowl cut.”

You swat him on his chest. “That’s my brother, you idiot. His name is on his shirt. That’s me,” you say, pointing to the baby version of you.

Nate looks at the picture, a small smile on his face. “You were really cute when you were little,” he tells you as you scroll through more photos. “I think our kids would be fine.”

You let out a laugh. “That’s assuming you were cute when you were little, Nate.”

“Are you kidding? Look at me. There’s no way I couldn’t have been.”

“Ok, sure.”

“I’ll call my mom and have her prove it.”

I went biking before dinner (-110) and when I got home it was time to eat. We had shrimp tacos- I had one (149). To be honest, I didn’t want more than just 1, and I was full after having it.

317 Main Street: Creative Eating and Learning How to Cook with Chef Eric Levine.

317 Main Street is a restaurant located in Farmingdale, New York. Owned by Chopped Champion Eric LeVine, this restaurant offers creative food and drinks, live entertainment, cooking classes, and Chef Eric himself will even make his way around the dining room to talk to his guests.

The effort the workers put into the dining experience for the guests is amazing. It is clear they care about both the quality and presentation of the food, as well as hospitality and making the guests feel welcome and comfortable.

I have been to this restaurant multiple times since discovering it last year, and every time I have went I have gotten to speak to Chef Eric. This is why I wanted to bring my best friend, Justin, to this specific restaurant. Chef Eric is a five time leukemia survivor, and my friend Justin had recently got diagnosed with leukemia. He really wanted to meet Chef Eric, talk to him about his experience with cancer, and try his cooking.

When we got to the restaurant they were very helpful with accommodations and helped us choose a table that my friend felt comfortable with, as well as being careful with food allergies and cross contamination. Both Justin and I got burgers. While I got one of the burgers on the regular menu, Justin got one of the burgers of the week.

Every week, the chefs create a “Burger of the Week.” These burgers are temporary, but extremely cool and creative. The burger of that week was a triple blend burger topped with siracha mac and cheese, fried jalapenõs, fried onion rings, cheddar cheese, and cheeto crusted fried tomato. The burgers of the week are always posted on the restaurant’s Instagram @ 317mainstreet!

About halfway through the dinner, Chef Eric came over to our table and both he and Justin talked about their experiences with chemotherapy, remission, and dealing with diagnosis in general. Justin left the restaurant with Chef Eric’s contact and a signed copy of his book, “Bowls, Burgers, and Jars: Season by Season with Chef Eric LeVine.”

Aside from the dining experience, Chef Eric also has a cooking class he offers almost every month. Each class has a different theme and the guests are given out instructions on how to make each meal as well as a live demonstration from Chef Eric. After the demonstration, all guests are given samples of the meals made so they can try it.

Each meal is also accompanied by a drink which also has instructions on how to make them. Here are some of the foods and drinks that he taught during his last to cooking classes:

Crab and Corn Cakes with Sweet and Spicy Dipping Sauce / Carrot and Apple Matchstick Salad with Radishes.

Sweet Tea panna Cotta with Ginger caramel

Pancake Shot with Butterscotch Schnapps, Jameson, Orange Juice and Bacon on the side.

These are just a few examples of the food and drinks you can try at this cooking class.

Overall, Chef Eric Levine’s 317 Main Street offers such a unique and interesting dining experience, and anyone living or visiting Long Island should definitely pay a visit!
