I keep looking over the official mini-comics that the official Afk Arena posted way back when for Vedan, and-

He's just a silly guy. He's silly, he's a dork trying to be cool for his kids and Isabella and Silvina can't stand him and I love it. He's an absolute loser, I adore him

Like look-

He loves them. He took them in for selfish reasons and to further his plans originally, but like- he loves them. And he tries to be scary and badass, but it's very clear he's just an aristocrat douche loser who managed to cheat death and become a vampire.

Listen, when the official account bullies one of their characters, I immediately fall in love with said character. If I already loved them before finding out, then that character is unfortunately solidified as an all time favorite.

I want him. Carnally. He is my type of loser and I want to ruin him.

He's a vampire? A dilf? He's an egotistical noble?? You made him a pathetic loser too!?? Oh, you made him a little goofy despite his smarts too, did you?

And you expect me not to want to fuck this man within an inch of his life after watching him get bullied by the official account and artists???

I'm not even touching the Esperia shorts portrayal of him, because it just solidifies the fact he's a silly goofy guy. 53 seconds. 53. But it shows how much of a goofy guy he is.

The fangamer stickers pack actually depicts woshua as a bucket-like thing, so I usually go with that! However, its torso seems to be a sphere shape with a quarter chunk taken out of it to display the duck rather than explicitly a bucket.

Also, an important design note: it is very cute.

I think Dave would take an interest in Roger due to his resemblance to Jack, that being his orangeness and an incredibly lonely aura.

Roger would also be really easy to take advantage of despite his more structured, defined set of morals and you'd need to push hard for him to fight back (which DOES happen, might I say! They would totally get into quite the amount of fights but Roger would most likely give in most of the time.)

I think this would be a quite interesting dynamic!

still thinking about the dynamic of dave x roger btw....... theyre both just inherently neutral with each other.... i just like to think that. what IF roger did end up dating dave? i personally see it as theyd both rub of on each other..... which, in a way, would mean dave would chill out a bit.... or maybe not. maybe dave would just rub off on roger and roger would go from polite guy to suddenly hes got a bit of a temper and teases you a bit more because he picked up that behavior from his purple freak boyfriend. would they also be bad for each other? most likely! dave would probably encourage roger to drink again for fucksake. would roger actually do it? depends on who you ask! theyd definitely argue with each other a lot though..... toxic yaoi

I NEED to talk about my "dee was designed subconsciously mimicking dave" headcanons but I dont know how to do it coherently.... I mean they don't exactly look that similar, but they have a lot of design elements that I interpret the same way when It comes to drawing them and that's why I developed this headanon in the first place.

For instance, let's just start with an easy comparison. Both are ridiculously lanky. This can even be seen in their sprites, and dee is often referred to with language ("noodle-limbs") that imply a long, spindly frame.

And over in Dee's physical form sprite..

We see a long neck and a tapering down from the chest into the stomach. We also see long claws and a perpetually open mouth.

Dave's shape is implied to also taper down in a similar way by his sprite (or at least, I interpret it that way), and over in his tape appearance..

ANYWAY with the reasoning to why i thought of this wacko idea in the first place out of the way,.. let me yap about the in lore reason why dee resembles Dave.

Okay, so Henry didn't like Dave. We know this. Henry also didn't like Dee. She was likely annoying as hell to take down considering he needed backup, and she continued to cause even MORE problems as a ghost. That's why Henry trapped her in the puppet in the first place iirc. Both Dee and Dave constantly cause problems for Henry.

I think that Henry subconsciously, while designing a vessel for That Damn Child He Hates, got spiteful and made it look like That Damn Guy He Hates.

Also there's something to be said about Henry literally manipulating Dee (she's a puppet, something you manipulate) and emotionally manipulating Dave but I can't think of any good way to expand on that thought.

glad I could do you some good! I'm happy you got something out of my rambles! I absolutely love henry despite not really actually ever talking about him. at all. Dude, I should like, REALLY talk about him more he is so cool. The way he attacks people with just . insults. And the thing is!! Those insults have actual merit to them! His insults are just the truth stretched to be as harsh as possible, targeting the insecurities and anxieties of the flipside gang... like... you're right, dude, dee DIDN'T do anything to actually prevent child death, blackjack DID hide in the shadows and refuse to do anything for multiple decades, Steven's death WAS a completely meaningless bet (not sure why that one got to steven so much, any steven fans out there have any thoughts? Maybe it was because he failed at the one good thing he could ever remember himself doing.), Peter sure is an orphan! That is a fact! (okay real note here ohh my god the whole "your family died to get away from you" thing. That WORKED on peter. He has SOOO much guilt towards leaving his family when they needed him most and it is NEVER addressed at all. Ohhfguhh. peter you deserved so much better here.) Dave, yes, is almost absolutely just as bad as Henry if you look at it through the right lense. I mean, morally standing, Flipside Dave is actually pretty respectable at times with real actual live guilt and doubt about killing kids, so I guess he's NOT as bad as Henry in that sense, but actions-wise? He's done everything Henry has done. That's Dave was AIMING to do. He WANTED to be like Henry, continue what he thought was Henry's legacy. And yes, Jack sure is a soulless husk. A sidenote on that, by the way. Do you know WHY Jack wasn't effected by those words? Being told he was a soulless husk, that he was lifeless, that he was a cancer and that he'd never mean anything at all to anyone? Because he already KNEW that. It had been beaten into his very being since the day he was resurrected as nothing but a tool to be used to fulfill a purpose. Fulfill a purpose and then die. "You're about as human as a hammer or a wrench, Old Sport, and that's what Phoney and I see you as." That's what Dave told him at one point. Yeah, no, Jack does NOT See himself as human. He doesn't even deny it when Dave says that, just. OHhh. .. Henry forgot to account for the fact that Jack is completely and utterly broken. It's shown time again and again. Jack has nothing left to live for except his one, singular purpose. He. he. h . anyway back to henry DUDE HE'S . OKAY NEVERMIND IM. IM OUT OF STEAM. I can't ramble anymore . apologeese for the giant block of text but i am noooot formatting this.

HENRY IS SO FUCKING MISCHARACTERIZED BY EVERYONE, PROBABLY INCLUDING ME, BUT LIKE IM SO SICK OF PEOPLE SAYING "Oh, Henry sucks, I bet he's homophobic!" GIRLYPOP HE IS CANONICALLY BISEXUAL. ITS NOT EVEN LISTED ON THE WIKI, EVEN THOUGH DIRECTDOGGO CONFIRMED IT. HE IS AN INCREDIBLY COMPLEX CHARACTER WITH A REALLY FUCKED UP MENTAL STATE, BUT SO OFTEN I SEE HIM SIMPLIFIED INTO AN EVIL LIZARD. NOT SAYING YOU CAN'T OR SHOULDN'T SIMPLIFY CHARACTERS, BUT FOR ONCE I'D LIKE TO SEE A DEPICTION OF HENRY WITH ENOUGH THOUGHT INTO IT AS DAVE'S/WILLIAM'S OR JACK'S MENTAL STATE. MAN'S HAD AN ABUSIVE CHILDHOOD, A FUCKED UP ADULTHOOD, AND A HORRIBLE MENTAL STATE THET ENDED UP FUCKING HIM UP SL BAD HE STARTED HIS WHOLE MESSED UP RESEARCH BECAUSE HE THOUGHT HE WAS DOING THE WORLD A FAVOR.
