good morning i have a definitive list of my favorite body lotions i think as someone who is somehwat of a lotion conoisseur. and by favorite i mean these smell the best and will make you smell so good people will be like WOW! you smell so good and theyre also really great for layering. and they have a really good texture to them as well

honorable mentions are l’occitane herbae and fresh sugar lychee which also smell amazing so good but i didnt want too much l’occitane on this list but i really love l’occitane

Age- 33 (immortal)

Location- Eleusis, Olympius

Personality- Demeter has an introverted temperament. She’s kind, generous, and nurturing. She’s fiercely dedicated and protective of her daughter. She's aware of her tendency to be a bit overbearing at times. She's recently single after ending a long term engagement.

Being the goddess of the harvest and agriculture, she has many powers & abilities. They include photokinesis, chlorokinesis, vitakinesis (healing), limited toxikinesis (as it relates to poisonous plants & fungi), atmokinesis (on par with Zeus), zoolinguism, limited geokinesis, taphokinesis (rot/decay manipulation), and being able to shapeshift into/communicate with her sacred animals.

Much like most of the beings in Eleusis, Demeter is vegan. She made the move there shortly before giving birth to her daughter. There, she founded a small agricultural college.

She's the only "A-list" god in the pantheon not to have a neighborhood inspired by her in New Olympus. She lives a very low profile life, not interested in the glitz and glam.

Her go-to drink is blackberry mint tea infused with hibiscus. She also likes aloe vera juice, coconut water, lychee juice, ginger ale, carrot juice, white wine, orange juice, mineral water, and Asteria's matcha tea. Her usual from The Roasted Bean is an olympian sized iced green tea. When she drinks coffee, Demeter likes it with a bit of cream & brown sugar.

Demeter is the one of the few goddesses not to have a glamour doll collectible (by choice).

She's well known in the pantheon for her delicious vegan chocolate black bean brownies!

Demeter is a very skilled swordsman! She has an Imperial Gold sword crafted by the three blacksmithing cyclopes as a gift as well as adamantine sickles! She’s also informed in many styles of fighting- her favorite being capoeira.

A go-to that she likes getting from The Bread Box is the lemon edamame & avacado sandwich (on wheat bread) along with a kale citrus salad (drizzled with a red vinaigrette dressing).

She’s responsible for most of the supply of Olympius’ crops (as well as sending crops to the Underworld) & overseeing the production on all farms. The crops are then sent out to different establishments. Demeter is also the owner of a very successful hair care company called Glory’s Crown. The products are 100% natural and vegan & are very popular with millions of girls & women in all the realms! Her favorite go-to products to use are the sulfate free aloe & olive oil shampoo and conditioner & the almond and castor oil loc elixir.

She also makes homemade creams/lotions (she doesn't sell them), Demeter just does it for fun! Her beautiful dark skin is supple soft thanks to her homemade vanilla almond body butter. Demeter also makes homemade floral soaps that she gifts to neighbors.

Demeter loves snacking on white grapes and sunflower seeds.

In the pantheon Demeter's really good friends with Hera (goddess of women & marriage), Hestia (goddess of the hearth), Leto (Titaness of demurity & motherhood), Argía (goddess of holidays), Nárkosi (goddess of sedation), Epione (goddess of soothing pain), Oeno (goddess of berries & wine), Theia (Titaness of sight & heavenly light), Livádi (goddess of meadows), Elpis (goddess of hope), Alectrona (goddess of the sun & morning), Elais (goddess of oil), Nyx (goddess of the night), Spermo (goddess of grains), Asteria (Titaness of falling stars, astrology, magic, necromancy, & nocturnal oracles and prophecies), Erebus (god of darkness), Agathodaemon (Daemon) (god of vineyards, grainfields, & luck), Paean (goddess of physicians), and Damia (goddess of naturalness).

She personally respects & admires Gaia (goddess of the earth) and the established agricultural deity Eubouleus (god of the swine & ploughing).

Demeter will decorate her long dreadlocks with hair cuffs and wires. She's also fond of silk wraps, updos, & floral print headbands.

Her favorite makeup product to use is the Olmorfia lip gloss in the shade "Scorched Chocolate," a deep brown color. Demeter will usually line her lips first with a brown lip liner.

Some of her favorite meals include butternut squash risotto, sweet potato pie, coconut ginger chickpea soup, green bean casserole, and Iasion's homemade vegan pizza. She also likes Hestia's honey roasted corn!

She was gifted with the asparagus shaped jeweled Diamond Ave. clutch from Paean.

Demeter was in a long term relationship with a mortal man named Iasion, whom she calls "her greatest love." They met at a Cornucopia festival when her daughter was still young. He was the first person Demeter trusted to tell about her and her daughter’s godly identities. She ended things when some time after accepting his marriage proposal. Her other former lovers included Mecon (a mortal man) and Karmanor (demi-god of the harvest).

Her pastimes include gardening, yoga, aerobics, swimming, aromatherapy, cooking, sunbathing, kickboxing, acupuncture, surfing, reading, knitting, weaving, hanging out with her friends, painting, and most importantly- spending time with her daughter.

NYR 2021

wow, weird to think that when i wrote my resolutions last year, covid was barely on my radar. i give myself some leeway since i couldn’t have expected that :p making lighter NYR this year to hopefully get them done!

review of last year’s:

drink more water - well ... i was on and off with this. i do think i did drink a lot more water, though! so i’ll keep using the water bottle <_<

skincare - have not been using sunscreen cus i don’t see the sun really, but i have been applying lotion/toner and face masks regularly!

continue working out/eating healthy-ish weekday meals - i had a several month dip in this because i was living at home and the long commute was not conducive to working out :x also was eating a TON at home ... and then ate a lot of dessert for advent. but overall i think i did really well on this! :)

cook a new veggie q2 weeks - no this completely fell apart because i didn’t go to the grocery store the last few months i was in arkansas LOL

marie kondo my room at home - well ... it’s not done, but i’m working on it :) i’ve been donating a bunch of stuff to buy nothing and to my hospital (clothing for patients)

budget more seriously - doing pretty well, i think :) at least, i’m living reasonably within my means?

take up ceramics or dance - not possible in covid times. next.

snack less & drink less juice - now that i’m no longer in arkansas, i snack way less - though for half of 2020, i continued to eat chips daily. LOL. less juice ... well, i’ve moved onto peanut milk now. :x

observe lent - nope i completely lost track of when lent started and ended so this didn’t happen :(

finish foodtography school - i did! but i didn’t do any of the assignments LOL

i actually came up with these last-minute on 12/31 because the new year came so fast - i totally was not expecting it. LOL.

teach lychee & yuzu one trick each - they’re pretty smart, so i think i can! i think i’ll teach lychee to stand (which she really enjoys doing as is) and maybe teach yuzu to give a paw?

attempt to make a kouign-amman - i haven’t really challenged myself with a pastry in a while, so this would be fun :) and amanda got me the dominique ansel cookbook!

learn how to make pasta and hand-pulled noodles - port got me the XFF book and i do have a stand mixer and a pasta maker so i really should get on it, especially since it’s so hard to get food outside these days :/

get back to (and maintain) a 24 inch waist - full disclosure, i started at 29 last academic year and i’m now back up to 28. oof. i know exactly how i got here, though, and i’m glad i did actually get back here so i can fully understand what parts of my body changed. back to work now :)

clean out my room at home - this is always on my list but seriously, it would be nice to have it be a nice space and not a storage unit

continue to educate myself on systemic racism - i don’t want it to be a passing fad; this will be relevant for as long as i love

send snail mail to friends - i really appreciate getting letters, but i don’t send them out enough. what better covid activity than this?

finish watching the good place & korra - it’s been years now and i’m like wait i really should just finish it LOL

learn how to apply makeup to my brows - this confuses me so much but hopefully it’s doable?

improve flexibility - trying to do yoga for adriene’s 16 min yoga for flexibility every day. we’ll see how far it takes me :)

Cutie Reviews: NMNL May 19

I know it’s only been a week since I did the previous NMNL, but I had been hoping to have this done a few days ago. But I just wasn’t really in a hurry to use the items like I usually do. The box wasn’t the problem though, I just lost a little momentum again. But I’m feeling better again and I’m ready to do this!

Glam Gift

Meanwhile, the glam gift includes a whole set of Etude House goods :D I love Etude House, and I was very excited to recognize the Missing U lotion, it’s the exact one I have. I meant to buy the whole set, but I kinda forgot to get the others...

I’ve also been planning on buying the soft drink lip products because of how cute they are, so I found that to be kinda funny too.

Meanwhile, the months horoscope is What cocktail should you try? with mine, Libra, being a Mai Tai. I’ve heard of it, but I never tried it. I’d love to try a strawberry daiquiri though, or maybe a Cosmopolitan- I’m only into fruity, colorful drinks.

Okay, well with that let’s get started!

Patting Panda Tool

Our first item is a unique beauty tool meant to emulate an important part of the Japanese skin care routine. This is basically applying a lotion product by gently patting the skin until its absorbed in the skin, so this adorable panda wand will help with that. I assume you can also use it with other various skin products.

All you do is apply a cotton pad or paper or tissue or something, then apply a lotion (from the images I assume liquid works better, or something thin and runny), then you tap it against the skin about 30 times. I think you can do more than that though because I noticed mine was fine after that, so I think I was closer to 50 or 60 when I noticed mine was dirty and thinned out/no longer usable.

I mean, in all honesty it’s probably more work just putting this thing together than it is actually applying/patting the product on yourself. BUT, it’s nice if you don’t want it all over your hands or touch your face, and I can’t say it doesn’t work. I used it and noticed that the product seemed to absorb quicker and my skin felt really nice. I also love pandas, so it’s pretty cute in that regard; and it was actually fun to use.

The only thing I dislike is that the loop piece won’t stay on unless you have something for it to connect to on the head piece, the cotton pad/tissue/paper. So until I decide where to put it, I’ll be leaving it in the box, which takes up a lot of space if you ask me...

Speed Off Brush Cleaning Sheets

Our next item is for cleaning makeup brushes, with each wipe infused with Alkaline electrolyte water to remove built up dirt, sebum, oil, foundation, and whatever else might be on the brushes. There is 12 in a set, and let me tell you, I used 3 of them cleaning all of my brushes.

That is because in all honesty, I actually was never told about the importance of cleaning your makeup brushes. I would clean them as I used them, but I never gave them a real, wet cleaning. Not cleaning your makeup tools can lead to bacteria that can lead to acne and other skin conditions- that never happened to me as of yet, but that isn’t to say it never wouldn’t have.

They have a scent, but I’m not sure what it is. It isn’t really a pleasant scent like flowers or fruit, but it’s not bad either, it’s really light.

To be fair you probably could have got the same effect just wetting the brushes and cleaning them manually, but this saves you effort; it’s like the opposite of the panda, but like the Panda, I actually really liked these. Not only did they make everything look brand new and tidy again, but it also did an awesome job removing the built up mascara on my favorite eyelash curler I really need to throw away but won’t because it’s my favorite.

As I said above, I did go through 3 of them, but rest assure that I used each one to its fullest and they were covered. But to be fair, one of my palettes got smeared with another makeup and I had a hard time removing it, and my foundation brush was loaded with product <3< it’s seen a lot...

Fragrance Body Sheets

By Fiancee (a brand we’ve seen before but not recently~) we have these fun looking body wipes in a grapefruit scent. They have a cooling menthol effect and will keep one moisturized and refreshed whether it be in the morning while getting ready or while outside enjoying the weather.

I love these! I’ve always ♥ grapefruit scents or anything citrus-based because to me they’re very refreshing and great pick-me-ups on those lazy mornings you can’t wake up fast enough. They smell amazing and the scent is long-lasting!

The only reason I marked them down is because you’re told not to use these on your face or clothing... I mostly use wipes for my face, and if necessary my clothes too, like if I spilled something while I’m out. I don’t know why they can’t be used on these 2 places, but I don’t plan to test my luck either and I really hope I remember not to use them on my face <3<

I assume it’ll burn...

Japanese Bath Powder & Fluffy Cleansing Pad

First up is an item I’ve had before, but it’s been so long I don’t remember if I had it in this specific version. These are adorable bath powders based on the daruma doll, lucky cat, or a dog, each with their own beneficial ingredients; like the daruma I have contains Japanese snake gourd plant extract, the cat has orange blossom oil, and the dog contains chrysanthemum extract.

As you can see I got the daruma doll, and he smells really good. I can’t tell if its cranberry or lychee or what, but it smells good and has a pretty matching color. I did use it, but because I didn’t feel like taking a bath I soaked my feet in again, but because there’s so much powder I only used a portion of it. The rest will be saved for a bath... or more feet soaks cause lately that’s what I’m into.

Since I’m pretty sure I already had this one, or one exactly like it. I’m not going to rate it, I’ll just say that my feet/skin felt no difference after I used it. All it really did was color the water (no staining btw) and release a strong, pleasant scent.

Our next item is a cleansing facial pad, available in 2 colors/designs, and I was very happy I got the pink one~ But they’re both cute colors. Like the panda, this is another product by Beauty World.

These are for exfoliating and cleansing the skin while removing makeup, instead of using a cotton pad or wipes that might strip the skin of beneficial nutrients. They also brighten the skin.

I decided not to rate this one either, but only because I didn’t really have much to say about it. It feels really soft and fluffy like the name implies, and it does its job.

Berrisom Horror Mask

Our next item is another Berrisom mask, this time part of their Horror line. We could either get a skeleton version made from Black Rice, which focuses on clearing up dry skin and improving the elasticity and moisturization, or the Pierrot/clown version, made from green tea and bamboo water to deeply moisturize and prevent wrinkles.

In knowing that, either one would have worked for me... but I don’t remember i I mentioned this before or not (I probably did), I’m terrified of skeletons DX I know it’s silly, but I’ve always been; the only exception is that I think skull designs are cute, and cutesy skeletons I can endure, I used to love the Skelanimal series.

It smells good, it has that Target scent I mention some times. I really like it, but I did not like the skull design on this mask DX it was scary. For me to use this, I had put it on and hurried up and put one of my other masks on top of it because I could see myself wearing it.

Again, I know its weird but it’s what I had to do okay.

Its quality was great though, plenty moist and it stuck very good. It was very soothing, and my face felt really nice after I used it~

Oh My Lash Mascara

Our next item is by Etude House, the Oh My Lash Mascara available in 2 formats; either #3 which focuses on volume or #4 for curling. I got 3, which you can kinda see in the pic on both the tube and lid.

This is a basic black mascara. There’s a little bit of a scent but it doesn’t smell like typical mascara.

I was really disappointed with last months Kira Kira Crate metallic pink let-down, so this one, which wasn’t nearly as cute didn’t give discourage me. As soon as I smoothly pulled out the wand and observed the bristles, I had high hopes this one would be pretty good.

But despite how good it looks, it’s a typical mascara. It’s not the worst and I can see a difference, but my lashes insta-clumped and stuck together. That usually doesn’t happen until like my third or fourth swipe (if I really have to do that many that is...). This won’t be in my top 3 mascara anytime soon.

Lip Tint Jam

Our last item is by Canmake. This lip tint jam is available in No.4 Expresso Jam, but don’t let the name fool you, it has a scent but its not a delicious one. This specific product features a jam-like jelly texture that easily spreads on the lips for a smooth, semi-matte finish. It comes in a brownish-orange shade... A shade I can’t say I was ever considering for myself.

The product isn’t bad, I kind of like how it feels on my lips. It went on smoothly as promised, but I did have to apply it a couple times to evenly spread out, because each time i brought my lips together it seemed to pull it away from certain spots. I wasn’t crazy about the color, but after dabbing it, it left a lighter, but still-noticeable tint on my lips that I approve of a lot more.

Content - 3.5 out of 5. I liked the items, but I felt like some of them were lacking in quality.

Theme: 1.5 out of 5. Honestly, I think only a couple items really enhance ones natural beauty. I never really consider makeup to be Natural, but if you do I’d bump it up to a 2.

Total Rank: 6 out of 10. The products are fine and they do work,but in comparison to the past two that I really liked, I felt like this one didn’t measure up. It had a handful of nice qualities too though, so I can’t say it was a bad box, it’s just my personal opinion that it could have been better.

♥ Cutie Scale ♥

1. Body Sheets - Besides the fun, colorful packaging, these smell deliciously wonderful! I’ll be bringing these with me and using them on those sleepy mornings for sure.

2. Patting Panda - It’s so sweet, I can’t help but smile looking at it~

3. Japanese Bath Powder - Smells and looks really pretty. I didn’t feel any different but it was still a pleasant experience.

4. Berrisom Face Mask - the prior ones weren’t too impressive but they smelled good, and this one smelled good too- plus the quality actually impressed me. These ones would be fun to use at a slumber party or friendly get-together.

5. Speed Off Cleaner - I love its pink and black color scheme on the packaging x3 I was also very impressed by these. I wish we got more, but I can see why we didn’t, since you don’t need to clean your makeup tools all the time. They could end up drying up before you use them all DX

6. Lip Tint Jam - Felt nice but it left my lips uneven and patchy until like the 3rd application. I didn’t like the color until I wiped off a portion of it after a few minutes. The bottle is really cute though and I think it’ll be a nice shade for fall/autumn.

7. Cleansing Pad - The packaging is really cute but the sponge itself is plain; the polar bear face isn’t really even on it, which disappointed me a bit. It feels really nice on the skin though, so I think I’ll still use it. When I remember that is...

8. Oh My Lash Mascara - I think this was the biggest disappointment in the box. It worked but I wasn’t impressed by it. It’s also pretty plain, which is so not the image of Etude House I get.

when my blog was created : november 2018! the bway musical group rp that i’d joined kinda died but i still had a ton of muse so i moved everyone over to this blog and started fresh!

random fact : i only had 3 rp blogs from at least 2 years back before starting again last fall. i think i deleted two but the other is floating around somewhere but I hope to god no one ever finds it oof

favourite food : potstickers, ramen, r i c e (cause i’m a sTEREOTYPE), oh and chocolate. cause chocolate.

favourite t.v. shows : i don’t watch a lot of tv shows anymore but probably NBC’s Timeless, BBC’s the musketeers, and then not really a tv show but kdrama, tied in terms of ranking: goblin (tvn), memories of the alhambra (tvn/netflix), W (mbc), and then after that cdrama Nirvana in Fire. You can find all of these subbed somewhere on the internet (my bet is viki) btw and if you get the chance and want to you should definitely check it out!!

favourite video game(s) : the only video games i play are like....mobile. i play food fantasy (gacha/battle game where you collect food souls to Do Battle) and mystic messenger (....korean otome dON’T SHAME ME IN MY OWN DAMN HOUSE I WAS CURIOUS ABOUT THE PLOT). But what I like to w a t c h include: Abzu, Oxenfree, uhhhhhh i guess Until Dawn was pretty cool even though it was Highkey Gore and I had to look away any time anyone died.

favourite fandom : most fandoms are Pretty Terrifying actually but the star trek fandom is pretty cool except when they’re arguing original vs reboot or one series vs another. Fanastasias are for the most part pretty chill?? OH great comet fandom is pretty chill too, even tho Andrei Bolkonsky doesn’t deserve their hatred.

peach: do you have any piercings or tattoos?

I have my ears pierced, that’s all. I’d like to get a tattoo sometime though, once I’ve got the funds, the time, and the ability to commit.

I LOVE... SUNFLOWERS... so much! I love them! They are big and yellow and they make me happy to see!

I don’t have any pets but I do have some *xylophone noise* animal skulls

Eyes, I guess? Eyes, the color purple, sunflowers (yay). I’m sure some people associate clowns and frogs with me too, tho those are kinda in tumblr vogue rn

passion fruit: how would you describe your style?

I like to describe myself as like... goth flavored, in the way that sparkling water is fruit flavored. I feel like if I was slightly more pretentious and willing to learn about bands and genres I could be a metalhead, I’ve already got the hair and the oversized band shirt and the big stompy leather boots. I don’t really have much of a set style though, idk. Check out my clothes wishlist on amazon if you’re really curious, ig?

all desserts are good desserts ye baby. I really like plain cheesecake though, and like... good chocolate chip cookies... stuff with dark chocolate in it... fresh fruits with whipped cream... the DECADENCE... I love dessert...

cherry: can you play any musical instruments or can you sing?

I can kind of sort of play the piano (I took lessons for like... oh fuck, eight years maybe?? jesus...I still kinda suck tho). I’d like to think that I can sing okay, but I’m not like, the type to belt out tunes or anything. I enjoy singing to myself tho.

grape: if you could take a vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Japan would be super neato, or like... the west coast. I’m kinda afraid of both of those places tho, (tsunami phobia, yay!), so that’s fun!

blackberry: is your life an action film, a comedy, a romantic comedy, or drama?

Probably a drama... not enough funny stuff has happened to balance out the tragic stuff for it to be a comedy, and god my life is DEFINITELY not a romantic comedy. And action film... nah, not enough explosions.

I’m really not sure... I wouldn’t mind being something like a mermaid or a naiad, but it would also be cool to be something more ghosty or creepy... I really don’t know!

I don’t wear a ton of perfume, so idk. I really like this one scent of lotion I have though (bright sunflowers by bath and body works) if that counts

I want to buy... a good quality witch hat! I know it’s basic, but it would make me happy! I have plenty of spooky clothes to wear with it!!

tumblr. I used to use twitter a decent amount, but I’m not so crazy about it anymore. This hellsite will always be home.

kiwi: what’s something that fascinates you?

OH! The relationship between psychology and spirituality/religion is something I’ve been thinking about a lot recently. I had one of my coworkers, back before I stopped working at the end of the summer, ask me if I thought he was like... delusional because he felt that he could sense things and stuff like that (he’s wiccan). I told him that if the way he was feeling wasn’t like, upsetting to him or negatively impacting his life and his judgement that I thought it was fine, yknow, but ever since then I’ve been really thinking about how psychology and religion kinda interact. Like, I’m sure that there are atheist psychologists out there who think that the prophecies of saints and stuff like that were just psychotic episodes, right? And there are probably religious people who might experience symptoms of mental illness that they interpret as spiritual. Obviously you can’t just dismiss the beliefs of others, even if you don’t agree with them, and I think it would be super neat to do some research about like, how to address the concerns of religious clients, etc... how to best combine the scientific approaches of psychology with a client’s beliefs and stuff like that. SORRY this is an incoherent text dump, but hopefully yall get what I mean.

Yeah... The Bitch (me) is a fuckn uhh... McD crew member. My coworkers lovingly describe me as a mini-manager though bc I somehow have my shit together more than a lot of them.
