Quite frankly, this is one of the few chapters that actually just rushed down on me like a wave on the sea! Something about those little moments of peace- the calm before the storm, that makes things come easy :)

Authenticity Ch. 14: Gremlin
Summary: Wind, Wild, and Hyrule do shenanigans. Everyone ends up having a great time with it.
@wildsage00 THIS IS FOR YOU HAVE SOME FLUFF I HOPE YOUR DAY GETS BETTER <3
Their clothes were singed and completely covered in soot. Wind’s and Wild’s hair looked almost as dark as Hyrule’s from the thick coating of ash. They walked back to camp slowly and carefully, each of them nursing various injuries.
“So,” Wind said. “What are the chances we’ll get out of this without a lecture on being more careful?”
Wild huffed a laugh. “Not very high.”
“We could try to spin it?” Hyrule said.
“Spin what?” Wild asked.
“We did take out an entire bokoblin camp. That’s good, right?” Hyrule said.
“Yeah, I like this! We did a good thing!” Wind said, bouncing slightly on his toes.
Wild nodded, then winced as his head throbbed. “Before the calamity, controlled burns were a thing to help forest health,” Wild added.
“Controlled?” Hyrule asked, then gestured to the raging fire behind them.
“It’s controlled by the stream, technically,” Wild said. Wind and Hyrule held back laughter.
“We’re almost there,” Wind said. “Game faces.”
They pushed through the last of the brush and into the clearing. Everyone in camp stopped what they were doing to stare at the trio.
Time was the first to break the silence with a long sigh. “Is there any property damage I have to deal with?” He asked.
“None at all! The fire won’t even reach the town!” Wind said triumphantly. He received more than a few glares, and his grin morphed into a frown.
“You don’t even have a fire rod, how did you manage that?” Sky asked. Wild looked closely at his body language and expression, but Sky didn’t seem mad at all. He almost sounded… curious?
Wild opened his mouth to respond, but Wind jumped in front of him. “Plausible deniability,” Wind whispered.
“Everything’s fine and we killed a camp of ‘blins. Happy?” Wind said. Twilight sighed and smothered a laugh with his hands.
“Hylia above, please go wash off. I can’t even recognize you under the soot. I just washed my clothes, so anyone who gets them dirty will meet my blade,” Legend said. He winked at Wild briefly so Wild would know he was joking then the scowl returned to his face.
“Legend, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your friendship,” Hyrule said, arms outstretched toward Legend.
“Don’t you dare,” Legend said, frozen in place and staring at Hyrule with wide eyes.
Wind turned to Four, who was standing closest to him, and smiled widely. “Smithy, I just remembered I never thanked you for fixing my shield last week.”
Four’s eyes darted between the trio just as Wild caught on to the game: Hyrule wanted to tease Legend by threatening to dirty his clean clothes. From the looks of it, Hyrule might go all the way and actually hug Legend.
Although washing off sounded heavenly, and the unusual texture of the soot was starting to make him anxious, Wild was never one to pass up an opportunity to be a gremlin. He could hold off the washing for a few minutes longer, he decided, and started swaying on his feet to alleviate the sensory discomfort. Wild smirked, and brought his hand up to his chin in an imitation of the thinking pose he’s seen on Warriors and Time.
“Put that hand down!” Legend yelled at Wild. Wild thought he saw a wink, so he knew Legend was playing along at least a little bit.
“Now that I think about it,” Wild said, looking around to see who was closest to him. Warriors was next to Legend and also frozen in place. “I owe the captain a thank you for teaching me that sword maneuver yesterday.”
Hyrule and Wild both took a step forward
“Stay back!” Warriors said.
“Nope, I don’t think so,” Hyrule said. He took off towards Legend and Warriors at a run, and Legend screeched. Wild was close behind, and he heard Wind laughing and Four yelling behind him.
Warriors grabbed Legend by the shoulders and shoved him towards Hyrule before running in the other direction. Legend cursed loudly. Hyrule tackled Legend while Wild ran after Warriors. Time, Twilight, and Sky were laughing from across camp.
“You’re next!” Wild called as he ran past them, still in pursuit of Warriors.
Laughter filled the forest for the rest of the day. The sun was warm enough that the impromptu laundry day wasn’t completely miserable, but Wild still cooked a spicy meat and seafood fry that night to make up for the shenanigans. Judging by the smiles and laughter around the camp, he didn’t think any of them truly minded.

Oh this is LOVELY 😍
Trin, I just love your writing, thank you for writing my request! I love how you wrote Hyrule and Four and just the comfort they give❤️
YOOO congrats on your follower milestone!!! ❤️❤️ You're fantastic
If it's ok, could I request a snippet of maybe Four and Hyrule interacting??
THANK YOU 💖💖
This was originally gonna be fluffy but then I got to thinking about the possible effects of the Four Sword and things got out of hand XD Anyway, thanks for the prompt! I hope you like what I came up with!

—————————
In the wake of the battle, he’s shaking.
Four kneels on the ground amongst the rubble and smoke and splotches of his and Rulie’s blood upon the soft dirt, and he stares down at his trembling hands. Every breath comes short and fast, little more than desperate hiccups to try and bring air into his lungs. The pungent taste of bile is strong on his tongue, courtesy of the stomach acid he expelled just a moment ago.
It shouldn’t be like this, he thinks as the world smudges and blurs before his straining eyes. It shouldn’t. They were victorious. So why…
But even as he catches a glimpse of the traveler sheathing his sword and dusting off his hands, even as he looks around at the corpses of the monsters they defeated, he still can’t stop trembling.
And he supposes he does know why. The answer is right in front of him, after all. It’s in the way his vision dances with colors of four, the way he feels like a puzzle someone knocked off a table, then put back together all wrong.
It’s because he had to split.
It’s never an easy act, letting the Four Sword divide him. Being torn apart like that—emotions separated and solidified into beings in their own right—it’s excruciating. Excruciating and exhausting, nauseating and disorienting. More often than not, it messes Four up for days.
Still, he does it, if only when it’s absolutely necessary. And being spit out in the middle of a monster camp certainly rendered it so today. Usually, he and Hyrule are more than capable of taking down such beasts without issue, but these were empowered by the Shadow’s blood and it had been nearly impossible to defeat them. He’d known what he had to do, there hadn’t been any doubt. And he doesn’t regret it. Splitting had turned the tables.
But…well, it would be nice not having to deal with the aftermath.
He brushes at his eyes to clear the tears he didn’t even realize were there. Anger surges through him without warning—fury at the situation, at himself for being incapable of handling it. But it’s followed just as quickly by soul-crushing sorrow (though at what he can’t truly tell). And following on its tail is the unignorable knowledge that focusing on these inconsequential emotions is not the way he should be spending his time at the moment.
He needs to get up and check on Hyrule, then scout the area to ensure it’s truly devoid of threats. Yet, he feels incapable of doing anything more than merely sitting here, crumbling.
“Smithy?”
He drags his gaze upward and Hyrule is already there standing before him, worry displayed plainly across his features.
“Are you hurt?”
Four shakes his head. A few minor injuries are all he sustained somehow. And he should be grateful for it—he is grateful for it—though it’s hard to be much of anything right now.
“Need a hand, then?”
Hyrule’s hand comes into view and after a short hesitation, Four takes it. The traveler helps him to his feet and Four stumbles a bit, as the world dips beneath his feet.
“I’m fine,” he manages in response to Hyrule’s look of alarm. He shakes his head in an attempt to clear it and chances a step forward. “We should get out of here before…before more come.”
“Yeah.” Hyrule nods, gaze breaking from Four just long enough to roam the surrounding area. “Monsters usually camp out near some sort of cave, so let’s look for one. Can you walk?”
He can, Four guesses, though movement still feels like an insurmountable feat. Especially now that the turbulent emotions have begun to dim, turning instead to exhausted numbness.
But he nods anyway and plods after Hyrule as the traveler starts forward.
Just as Hyrule said, a cave is situated a short distance away. Four stumbles inside, relieved to have a place to rest. His legs give way almost instantly.
The cool stone tilts beneath him and he squeezes his eyes shut. If he wills it perhaps he’ll be able to breathe. If he tries hard enough perhaps he’ll feel whole again.
He knows it’ll happen eventually. He’s done this too many times to deny that knowledge. It’s only a matter of being patient and gently nudging the pieces of himself back into their appropriate places. Still, in this moment that task appears daunting and endless.
He can hear Hyrule settling down beside him, now, though he can’t quite bring himself to look in his direction. But when a tentative hand comes to rest on his shoulder he drags his eyes open.
“So, uh, that's the power of the Four Sword?” the traveler asks softly. “It splits you into…four people?”
Four nods. He would go into specifics, tell about how Vio and Red, Blue and Green—they’re all him only divided, and how each emotion is amplified even after he’s put himself back together, and how long it takes to find unity again in the days that follow. He’s too tired, though. All he wants to do now is sleep.
“Oh wow,” Hyrule says, sounding somewhat awed. Then, “When you use it…does it always do this to you?”
Four blinks in an attempt to clear the colors still dancing before him. There’s too much red now, tinging everything the color of blood. Tears prick at the back of his eyes.
“It isn’t always this bad,” he mumbles. “But most of the time…yes.”
He pauses, that familiar anger returning. He isn’t sure what’s worse, the numbness or the overwhelming emotion.
“I should be used to it by now. I should be able to handle the effects. But…”
He shrugs, trailing off helplessly.
Hyrule moves closer and gives his shoulder a reassuring squeeze.
“Magic can be taxing. And what you’re using, it’s powerful, I can tell.”
Four shakes his head slightly, rubbing at his eyes. There’s no doubt that the Four Sword is powerful. He still remembers the first time he used it, the horribly unnatural feel of being ripped apart. Even still, handling such things is par for the course for heroes.
…Right?
“I feel like I should apologize,” he croaks. “You shouldn’t have to see me like this.”
“Hey, I don’t mind!”
Hyrule wraps an arm around his shoulder and pulls him into a one-armed hug. Four sags against him, grateful for the warmth and safety of his embrace.
“It’s probably a kind of magic exhaustion, you know,” the traveler says after a moment. “Using a lot of power at once or for a long time usually leads to it.”
“Usually?” Four raises an eyebrow. “I don’t think I want to know how you’re so confident about that.”
Hyrule chuckles. “Yeah, don't ask vet about it.”
Four makes a mental note to do just that (and to keep a closer eye on the traveler too). But that’ll come later. He snuggles closer and sighs. For now, he can rest.
“I don’t know any spells that help with magical exhaustion,” Hyrule says, apologetically. “It’s kinda cured by not doing any magic. But if there’s anything you want me to do, any way I can help…”
Four shakes his head. “Nothing you can do. I have to—” A yawn escapes and even pressing a hand to his mouth can’t stifle it. “—have to find unity again.”
There’s little chance Hyrule really understands what that entails, or even what it means, but he doesn’t question. He merely shifts into a more comfortable position and brings Four a little closer.
“Okay,” he says. “Then I’ll stay here with you until you do.”
And Four knows with startling certainty that he’ll do just that.

sky: dandelions symbolize everything i want to be in life
legend: fluffy and dead with a gust of wind? you already—
sky: unapologetic. hard to kill. feral, filled with sunlight, bright, beautiful in a way that the conventional and controlling hate but cannot ever fully destroy. stubborn. happy. bastardous. friends with bees. highly disapproving of lawns. full of wishes that will be carried far after i die.
hyrule: edible!
wild: but people are already edible? i mean they don’t taste that good but—
wild: ..
wild: ….the way you’re all looking at me gives me the impression that i probably shouldn’t have said anything

My initial thoughts on the new update
In the first panel with the innkeeper, he is admiring a rupee. When the postman shows up, he looks super annoyed XD.
I’m getting the impression that Jojo has a passion for languages based on the tags for this one and the whole Minish-Japanese-English thing.
Confirmed: Sky is a late sleeper. (Yay! Sky gets some screentime!) Also, his sailcloth is really long, like cloak.
The mailman says “Da na na na naaaa!” The “you got a new thing!” song from the games.
In the panel right before the smith laughs at Four, the mailman is in the background, skipping away. He must put the flags away when he goes inside a building.
The scene with the smith laughing at a sad Four is funny. I like how the view is angleddown to make Four look even smaller.
When Hyrule, Warriors, and Wind come to join Four in swordmaking, Hyrule does not in fact have a crop top on. Is that Warriors’ fire rod or Legend’s? I know Warriors does have one in his game.
Warrirs tells Four needs practice with teamwork and that is definitely the case based on what happened when he split in front of Wild. He’s probably laughing because of the irony. But unfortunately, he can’t explain the joke the others yet. (And he doesn’t have his own sword with him right now, so he can’t show his party trick to the others right now no matter how funny that would be.)
Do you think that they’ll be successful at forging a sword for Wild? Probably because that’s how Four plans to make amends with Wild. But it would be really funny if they didn’t and that became the running joke of the comic that Four in fact cannot forge a sword for Wild that won’t break.
One more thing: Time is missing. He hasn’t been in this comic or the last one, he’s the only one unaccounted for. So where is he? Is he on a walk in the woods to clear his mind? Is he going back to the battleground? Will he find that the enemy’s evil axe is gone and instead there’s a portal? 👀

trick or treat ^_^
(First Part) (<- Previous Part)
As soon as the door opened, the shouting commenced.
"Sky! Four! Hyrule!"
"You're late!"
"Finally!"
"Disqualified!"
"Give us a second to breathe, sheesh," Four said playfully as he toed off his boots.
"We're barely late," Hyrule said.
"Nineteen minutes and thirty four seconds," Time said without looking up from where he was sorting his candy.
"From when the door opened or to right now?" Wind asked.
"Door."
"Cool. Still disqualified."
"You can't disqualify us," Hyrule said.
"Why not?" Legend asked. "Your candy bags are full. How do we know you didn't get extra candy?"
Sky collapsed onto the couch with a deep sigh. "I just had to take a break, Vet. Too much walking."
It wasn't a total lie, Sky had rationalized to Four and Hyrule. The bags under his eyes stood out sharply, even though his face was reddened from exertion. His joints throbbed and his head hurt in the way he knew meant he had too much sugar and not enough water.
"Worth it though," Sky added with a grin as he tossed another candy into his mouth.
"Water, please," Warriors said as he handed Sky a freshly filled cup. Sky grinned in thanks as he took the cup and drained it.
Legend narrowed his eyes, gaze darting between Sky, Four, and Hyrule. Four smiled cheerily. Hyrule smiled at Legend for a respectable amount of time before he announced that he was going to the bathroom.
Legend hummed and crossed his arms. "Wind, what do you think?"
"As the official organizer of the first annual Halloween candy competition, I say it's fine. This time! But next time, you're disqualified."
"Woo," Sky cheered weakly.
"Wait a second," Four said. "Legend, is your costume Warriors in a crisis?"
"HAH! He gets it!" Legend whipped around to face Warriors and grinned wildly in his face. Warriors yelled a groan and collapsed next to Sky on the couch.
"Help me," Warriors muttered. He leaned towards Sky slowly, clearly giving Sky time to move away if he didn't want the contact. Sky pat Warriors on the head and pulled him into his lap.
"There, there. You'll survive probably," Sky said with a chuckle.

4D and Astor. Or 2B, either way. 2B kinda gives off Flynn Carsen from The Librarians(the show ran from 2014 to 2018) vibes.
Tumblr media
Thanks for the ask Anon ! And sorry for answering this… I don’t even know. At least 6 months late.😭
But anyway, hey lads, guess what, Victor’s back !
I took a big break (because no motivation, hyperfixation sadly going away and school), but during this break, my art got a lot better ?? Anatomically most of all. And I’m happy.
I also changed my artsyle a bit (lineart is back wewoo) and changed my Astor design, and now he kinda looks like Nick Cave and Peter Murphy.

Game Night: CHAIN ATTACK!!!
i am,,, withering away but ITS DONE ITS DONE IM FREE FROM THE CURSE (<<< still haunted by wips) clocking in at 32+ hours, this sucker has been getting pushed around for 10 months-
while theres some things i would have done differently if i could redo this from scratch, i still had a BLAST cramming in as much detail as i could tolerate >:) some highlights / cut ideas / ramblings are below the cut, but please zoom for details! (if tumblr doesnt shred it to bits)
gonna be real i locked so hard onto drawing ripped jeans that i forgot i could have just shoved legend into a skirt and called it a day
SOCKS. SOCKS. the amount of Joy anytime i figured out how to personalize them with game references: legend (hibiscus), twilight (ordon goats), and four (force gems)
i WAS going to put time in a turtleneck, but had an epiphany and started digging for the most obnoxious hawaiian shirts i could find,,, ft. a sea flower (wind waker) and a saturation boosted plumm (twilight princess)!
yeah so warriors got the sweater instead of the skintight shirt, sorry gang
speaking of if i ever say im going to draw a cableknit sweater again, somebody PLEASE shake some sense into me- warriors sweater was a NIGHTMARE since my art program has an astonishing lack of good brushes (and yet here i am still using it)
MOST of the text has been modified using the twilight princess cipher because yeah. i was procrastinating shading. also the other ciphers were in japanese- times shirt is cropped, but reads "its 5 oclock somewhere"
winds lobster shirt :) that is all i just think its neat
wilds jacket :) link w(ild) 2017, aka the release year of botw
jewelry! sky has the fireshield earrings, and wild has the amber earrings~ could barely squeeze the bombos and quake medallions onto legend, and wind got the joy pendant
hyrule :D embroidery on his sweatpants because i was struck by whimsy- also i 100% thought his shield was purple tinted for weeks while drawing this because the page i used as reference was set at night, and i was originally basing his sweater on his shield- scrapped the cross pattern after several failed attempts but kept the color ^^
the chips are bbq because im biased (reads "crisps" in twilight princess cipher for no real reason except whimsy)
bless my dearest homie for game reccs because the og plan was to have them all be loz games! titles include wii sports resort, elebits, super mario party, smash bros ultimate, just dance 2016 (its box art is colorful ok), and myth makers orbs of doom (I HATE THIS GAME WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING, as i should, anyways i should play it again). four is suggesting orbs of doom, buddy aint even playing,,,
kinda was hoping to play around with hair colors and skin tones a bit more, but again, see the hour count- ill get em next time surely,,, also blue vs violet eyes for legend already had me in decision paralysis
the whole gang was gonna have friendship bracelets with color combos based on dynamics i found neat but oops! didnt finish the layer :')
thats a wrap! didnt yap about everything but im curious what yall catch onto- anyways surely ive learned something about biting off more than i can chew (<<< lying liar who lies)
