It’s such a comparatively small detail, but I keep coming back to the physicality of the infected dude who chases Joel and Sarah—how completely that actor hurled himself into it, how it gives the sense that this man no longer has care or control of his faculties, has nothing but the hunger as he bangs off of objects and skitters back to his feet. It’s so mind-numbingly terrifying to imagine that coming after you in the dark.

I want to spend hours with Marlene.#but in a way it’s the sheer horror of the infected’s MOTION that gets me most #to imagine living in this particular kind of zombie apocalypse #when normally I don’t care for this genre much at all #it’s so well done #and it leads to such a different kind of terror—to imagine what humans must become to cope with those things lurking around every corner #how horrific we must be to survive something so devoted to hunting us. to spreading.#and how it explains the worst of Joel and Ellie’s impulses across the games #it’s SUCH a good story. and it begins with something as simple as speedy ragdoll sprint-and-spring behavior

I really looked at @yearoftheotpevent and saw they didn't have zombies/DCeased as one of their prompts and went "ok time to be silly i can make EVERY STORY i write for this set in a zombie AU while still following the prompt options" and now I have to attempt worldbuilding that isn't ripped off of TLOU HBO or the fic that got me into zombies in the first place, and also I forgot about it and am now scrambling to complete a oneshot before midnight for this month's prompt akskdsjdkajfksh. I don't have a worthwhile snippet at the mo' because it's all kind of within context for the story right now but I'll probably have it posted in the next couple hours!!! I can tag you if you like :D

grabbed some fresh trash today!! my collection is steadily growing, I really need to stop buying books and start reading books but. like. I go into the local charity shop and see a handful of beat-up 80s horror pulp for like a quid and i cant resist

i got to talkin about horror with the cashier which was really fun but he said they had a copy of Slugs that they sold recently so I must have just missed it :( i love you Slugs... someday you will return to me

#i should post my whole collection sometime. its still small we're talking like. ten books #but im steadily raiding the charity shops on my university lunch breaks for them #they're kind of hard to find since i think most of the shops here only really sell newer/nicer looking books #but theres a specific book charity shop that i can always find at least one old paperback that looks fun in #them being slightly beat up is very important to me. idk what it is i just think its very appealing. love a book with visible age #also lurking in this pic is a horror magazine i picked up from the local music shop because. well they had return of the living dead #right on the cover. and i cant resist my Favourite Zombie Movie
