Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?

Happy National Coming Out Day! It's been about half a year since our middle grade graphic novel, Lunar Boy, released! Today we want to reflect on the concept of Coming Out, and how it's fictionalized in media.
Check out Lunar Boy wherever american graphic novels are sold, or check it out at a library! All the support means a lot with getting stories like this out there.

Hello friend!
Before I start my Moon reading of this particular night, I would like to let you all know that if you would like a personal Tarot reading (card of the day OR a three card spread) and/or want to know your personal Rune of the day, leave a comment or an ask and I will get you yours with proper explanations.
Yeah.. I wanted to do another Moon reading during the last Full Moon but due to certain circumstances I couldn't even enjoy the Full Moon, nor do any rituals or readings. So I randomly decided to do a reading on todays Waning Moon. My next reading will be during the New Moon (March 21), the Waxing Moon (March 28) and the next Full Moon (April 6). If not interested in any of this, just keep scrolling. No negative comments. It's not necessary.
Tumblr media
Waning Moon in Capricorn, March 18th.
In short; It's the perfect time to focus on your own accuracy, traditional values and labour. It's a good day to make plans, start projects and take action. It's also the perfect time for new beginnings and purchases, spiritual practices, studies and treatment. Although it's unfavorable for taking risks and completing tasks today.
Today is a good day for solitude, so staying at home alone could be extra beneficial today, but obviously not essential. If necessary, due to any kind of certain circumstances, austerity and somberness are welcome emotions today (really? yes, really!) and can't be dealt with/figured out today, even subconsciously(!).
Today is also perfect for any kind of purification, like sage your house. Almost every smudge stick has antimicrobial properties. This means they keep infectious bacteria, viruses, and fungi at bay. Also, in some cultures, burning sage is used to achieve a healing state, or to solve or reflect upon spiritual dilemmas. And last but not least, burning sage may also be used as a ritual tool to rid yourself, or your space, of negativity. This includes past traumas, bad experiences, or negative energies from others. Other ways of purification are taking a salt bath, which is perfect for cleansing away (old) painful memories and any kind of bad energies that are still attached to those memories (and by that I also mean attached to you). A salt bath can also stimulate circulation, ease muscle cramps, help relieve stiffness in joints, aid with arthritis or back pain, and soothe achy, overworked legs and feet. Plus sea salt helps cleanse and detoxify the largest organ in the body; your skin. I use a combination of herbs, flowers, essential oils and salts. It's perfect for the cleansing away of old situations and energies. If anyone wants to know the exact ingredients, you can send me an ask.
Do (some) house chores today, devote some time to spiritual growth and examine or observe your own mental and emotional process. 15 to 20 minutes of meditation will do you wonders. Doesn't matter what time of day. It would be better to set aside any work-related issues today. Best colors for today are black or dark blue.
Sunday - Sun
The energy of this day is good for relaxation and spending time outdoors. Rising with the Sun will give you extra energy throughoutthe entire day. It's best to avoid any active work today and clear your mind from all worries as best as you can. Best colors for this day are gold and burgundy.
Moon Days
A Lunar Day is the period of time it takes for the Earth's Moon to complete one full rotation on its axis with respect to the Sun.
Moon Day till 6:45 AM
This day is good for purification, fasting, spiritual activities, rest and recovery. Restrictions should be applied not only to food but also to emotions, physical activities, material goods and communication.
Moon Day from 6:45 AM
The day is favourable for acquiring new knowledge, meditating, spending time with your close ones. It is recommended to choose activities that lead to mental balance and peace.
Affirmation of the day
l accept my emotions and let them serve their purpose.

Moonbound: One Year Since Artemis I
On this day last year, the Artemis I rocket and spacecraft lit up the sky and embarked on the revolutionary mission to the Moon and back. The first integrated flight test of the rocket and spacecraft continued for 25.5 days, validating NASA’s deep exploration systems and setting the stage for humanity’s return to the lunar surface.
Tumblr media
On Nov. 16, 2022, the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket met or exceeded all expectations during its debut launch on Artemis I. The twin solid rocket booster motors responsible for producing more than 7 million pounds of thrust at liftoff reached their performance target, helping SLS and the Orion spacecraft reach a speed of about 4,000 mph in just over two minutes before the boosters separated.
Tumblr media
Quite a few payloads caught a ride aboard the Orion spacecraft on the Artemis I mission: In addition to a number of small scientific satellites called CubeSats, a manikin named Commander Moonikin Campos sat in the commander’s seat. A Snoopy doll served as a zero-gravity indicator — something that floats inside the spacecraft to demonstrate microgravity.
Tumblr media
During the mission, Orion performed two lunar flybys, coming within 80 miles of the lunar surface. At its farthest distance during the mission, Orion traveled nearly 270,000 miles from our home planet, more than 1,000 times farther than where the International Space Station orbits Earth. This surpassed the record for distance traveled by a spacecraft designed to carry humans, previously set during Apollo 13.
Tumblr media
The Orion spacecraft arrived back home to planet Earth on Dec. 11, 2022. During re-entry, Orion endured temperatures about half as hot as the surface of the Sun at about 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Within about 20 minutes, Orion slowed from nearly 25,000 mph to about 20 mph for its parachute-assisted splashdown.
Tumblr media
Recovery teams successfully retrieved the spacecraft and delivered it back to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center for de-servicing operations, which included removing the payloads (like Snoopy and Commander Moonikin Campos) and analyzing the heat shield.
Tumblr media
With the Artemis I mission under our belt, we look ahead to Artemis II — our first crewed mission to the Moon in over 50 years. Four astronauts will fly around the Moon inside Orion, practicing piloting the spacecraft and validating the spacecraft’s life support systems. The Artemis II crew includes: NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, and CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen.

As we look ahead to Artemis II, we build upon the incredible success of the Artemis I mission and recognize the hard work and achievements of the entire Artemis team. Go Artemis!

All 13 full moons of 2023.
A year is a mighty long time. You folks went through quite a few phases in the last year, year number two thousand and twenty-three, to be precise. You met and parted with mini variants of yourselves, like Russian dolls. A few skins were shed, one might say. Well, we've got news.
It seems you're in good company: the moon, our celestial neighbor, did just the same thing. Over 12 months, there were 13 moons. One each for each month, the whole year round, and one to spare, you know. Just in case of emergencies.
With that in mind, we thought we would take the chance to celebrate this most mysterious friend that decorates the sky each night—and marvel at its unattainable beauties.

Lunar Boy by Jes and Cin Wibowo
Tumblr media
For fans of The Witch Boy and Squished, Lunar Boy is a must-have heartwarming coming-of-age graphic novel about a young boy from the moon who discovers a home in the most unlikely places, from debut twin creators Jes and Cin Wibowo.
Indu, a boy from the moon, feels like he doesn’t belong. He hasn’t since he and his adoptive mom disembarked from their spaceship—their home—to live on Earth with their new blended family. The kids at school think he’s weird, he has a crush on his pen pal who might not like him back, and his stepfamily doesn’t seem to know what to do with him. Worst of all, Indu can’t even talk to his mom about how he’s feeling because she’s so busy.
In a moment of loneliness, Indu calls out to the moon, begging them to take him back. And against all odds, the moon hears him and agrees to bring him home on the first day of the New Year. But as the promised day draws nearer, Indu finds friendship in unlikely places and discovers that home is more than where you come from. And when the moon calls again, Indu must decide: Is he willing to give up what he’s just found?
