PVC tarpaulins, also known as polyvinyl chloride tarpaulins, are a remarkable invention that has found a multitude of uses across various industries and everyday life. These durable and versatile sheets of material are made from polyvinyl chloride, a synthetic plastic polymer.
Understanding PVC Tarpaulins
Composition: PVC tarpaulins are typically made by coating a strong fabric, often polyester or nylon, with a layer of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) on one or both sides. This combination results in a material that is not only robust but also resistant to water, UV rays, chemicals, and abrasion.
Durability: One of the key characteristics of pvc tarpaulin is their exceptional durability. They are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, making them ideal for outdoor use. Whether it's rain, snow, sunlight, or wind, PVC tarpaulins can endure it all.
Variety: PVC tarpaulins come in various thicknesses, colors, and finishes. The thickness can range from lightweight options suitable for temporary covers to heavy-duty variants for long term use. Different colors and finishes serve specific purposes, from providing shade to offering protection against fire or chemicals.
PVC tarpaulins are manufactured through a multi-step process:
Fabric Selection: The process begins with selecting the base fabric, which is usually made of polyester or nylon. The choice of fabric depends on the intended use of the tarpaulin.
Coating: The selected fabric is then coated with PVC. This can be done by laminating one or both sides of the fabric with PVC. The thickness of the PVC coating determines the tarpaulin's durability.
Curing: After coating, the material goes through a curing process, which involves heating it to bond the PVC to the fabric. This ensures that the PVC layer remains firmly attached.
The versatility of PVC tarpaulins is evident in their wide range of applications:
Temporary Shelters: PVC tarpaulin are commonly used to create temporary shelters for outdoor events, construction sites, and disaster relief efforts. Their durability and weather resistance make them ideal for this purpose.
Truck and Trailer Covers: They are used as covers for trucks, trailers, and cargo to protect goods from rain and harsh weather conditions during transportation.
Boat Covers: Waterproof and UV-resistant PVC tarpaulins are used as covers for boats and marine equipment.
Industrial Curtains: In industrial settings, PVC tarpaulins are employed as curtains to create partition walls, control dust, and contain noise.
Outdoor Furniture and Upholstery: PVC-coated fabrics are used for outdoor furniture upholstery, as they are easy to clean and resistant to moisture and UV rays.
In the world of construction and logistics, the safe and efficient transport of lumber is a critical component. Lumber tarps specifically designed for this purpose, play an essential role in safeguarding one of the construction industry's most vital resources.
The Significance of Lumber in Construction
Lumber, derived from timber, is the foundation of construction projects worldwide. It serves as the primary material for framing, structural support, and a myriad of other applications in residential, commercial, and industrial construction. The efficient transportation of lumber from forests to construction sites is essential to meet the demands of the construction industry.
The Role of Lumber Tarps
Lumber tarps are specialized tarpaulins designed to protect lumber during transportation. Their primary function is to shield the wood from adverse weather conditions, including rain, snow, and UV radiation, which can lead to degradation, warping, and damage. Lumber tarps are tailored to the unique dimensions of lumber loads and offer features that facilitate secure coverage.
Key Features of Lumber Tarps
D-Rings and Straps: Lumber tarps feature strategically placed D-rings and straps, which allow for secure attachment to the trailer. This ensures that the tarp remains in place even during highway speeds and adverse weather conditions.
Flaps and Tail Flap: Many lumber tarps have flaps that can be deployed to cover the ends of the lumber stack, offering additional protection. A tail flap at the rear helps in securing the tarp and preventing wind from lifting it.
Waterproof and UV-Resistant Material: Lumber tarps are typically made from heavy-duty, waterproof materials that provide protection against moisture. They are also UV-resistant to shield the lumber from sun damage.
Applications of Lumber Tarps
Construction: Lumber tarps are indispensable for transporting lumber to construction sites. They ensure that the wood arrives in optimal condition, ready for use in framing, structural work, and other construction tasks.
Lumber Yards and Sawmills: Lumber tarps are used to cover stacks of lumber in lumber yards and sawmills, protecting the wood from the elements while awaiting distribution.
Timber and Logging Industry: In the timber and logging industry, lumber tarps are employed to cover freshly harvested logs during transportation to processing facilities or mills.
Residential and Commercial Renovations: Lumber tarps are used by contractors and renovation crews to protect lumber and other building materials during transit to renovation sites.
In the realm of outdoor protection and construction, Heavy duty tarps are the unyielding sentinels that stand against the forces of nature. These rugged, resilient sheets of material are designed to endure harsh conditions and safeguard valuable assets, making them indispensable in various industries and everyday life.
The Composition of Heavy Duty Tarps
Heavy-duty tarps are engineered with durability as their primary attribute. They are typically composed of the following elements:
Base Material: The core of a heavy-duty tarp consists of a strong base material, often made of reinforced polyester or high-density polyethylene (HDPE). These materials provide the tarp with its robust foundation.
Reinforcements: Additional strength is achieved through reinforcements, which can include hemmed edges, reinforced corners, and strategically placed grommets or D-rings. These reinforcements allow for secure fastening and attachment.
Thickness: Heavy-duty tarps come in various thicknesses, measured in mils (thousandths of an inch) or millimeters. Thicker tarps provide greater durability and protection against extreme conditions.
The versatility of heavy-duty tarps makes them essential in an array of applications:
Transportation: Heavy-duty tarps serve as cargo covers for trucks and trailers, safeguarding goods during long-haul transportation.
Home and Garden: Heavy-duty tarps are used by homeowners and gardeners to protect outdoor furniture, vehicles, and garden equipment from rain, snow, and sun.
Emergency Situations: In disaster relief efforts, heavy-duty tarps are deployed to create temporary shelters and protect displaced individuals from the elements.
Boat and RV Covers: Heavy-duty tarps are utilized as covers for boats and recreational vehicles (RVs) during storage, shielding them from weather-related damage.
The Role of Heavy Duty Tarps in Challenging Environments
Heavy duty tarp are specifically engineered to withstand challenging environments, making them invaluable in extreme conditions. Their resistance to UV radiation prevents sun damage, while their waterproof properties keep contents dry in rainy or snowy weather. Additionally, their robust construction ensures longevity, even in high-wind environments.
Heavy-duty tarps are the unsung heroes of outdoor protection and logistics, providing a reliable defense against the harshest elements. Their remarkable durability, versatility, and adaptability make them indispensable in a wide range of industries and everyday life. Whether on a construction site, in agriculture, during outdoor events, or in emergency situations, heavy-duty tarps stand as unyielding protectors, preserving assets, and ensuring that people and property remain sheltered from the unpre
dictable forces of nature.

An excerpt from the soon-to-come third chapter of my Cherik Gilmore Girls AU:
“I think that’s enough wood there, Sean.” Charles says, watching the younger man pile the logs as high as possible in the inn’s main fireplace. And beside the fireplace. And good Lord, his wagon is still nearly full.
“I put wood in all the guest rooms and the living room, so all I have to do is store the rest of the cord you bought.” Sean says, dusting off his hands and giving Charles a good-natured if slightly goofy grin.
“Okay, Alex will take you outside and show you where it goes.” Charles says, gesturing to the other young man standing at the front desk. Alex Summers, Scott’s older brother, while a little grumpier than Scott, is proving to be a worthy hire.
“Outside?” Sean asks, as Alex starts to lead him and his giant wagon of lumber. “You really want to expose your wood to the elements?”
Charles stifles a laugh, “We’ll get a tarp. Thank you, Sean, Alex,” and heads towards the kitchen.
Sean = kirk and you can pry this from my cold dead hands.

how about steddie and “that’s more roses than i’ve ever seen in my life" !!
part 1
they're just tipsy enough that everything is funny.
the fire they made to go along with their picnic on the beach earlier is puffing out tendrils of smoke from where eddie had dampened it, the ocean is roaring faintly in the background, far enough away from the city that there isn't any ambient traffic noise to ruin the tranquility, and the moon is the only light to lead them through the unfinished beach house. everything smells of sawdust and paint, the smoke that clings to their clothes and the champagne on their breath.
"we definitely aren't supposed to be here," steve giggles out at eddie's side as he clings to him to maintain his balance. they're stepping over nails halfway sticking up from the subfloor and avoiding piles of lumber that lay in the hallways.
"shh," eddie laughs back, finger pressed over his lips as he pulls steve closer to him. "we won't get caught if you keep your voice down, i promise."
he uses it as an excuse to press his lips to steve's, shutting him up smile to smile, crowding him against the marble-topped island in the almost done kitchen. steve hums against his lips and lets himself melt against his fiancé, trusting the counter and eddie to hold him up.
"we're technically breaking and entering, you know that right?" steve mumbles against eddie's lips, his hands traveling down from around his neck to his waist and teasing at further before settling back at his hips. one, two, three more soft kisses. "we could get in some serious trouble for this, munson."
"no one lives here yet, it's fine." eddie puts a hand in steve's back pocket, pulls him close for another kiss before taking his hand in his own. he drags a still giggling steve to the staircase with the steps exposed and probably dangerous but the champagne in their veins lets them ignore that.
it's their last valentine's until the big day. they'll be married soon enough, just a few more months until they say i do with their closest friends and family around to help celebrate. it feels like the last chapter in a book where everything settles into place before they start to write the sequel. out of all the valentine's dates eddie's been on, he thinks this one might be his best orchestrated yet.
"where are we going?" steve whines. it's fake and laced with a laugh and it has eddie spinning him into his arms to smother his cheeks with kisses.
"so impatient," he mutters against steve's soft skin as he pulls him into a dark room. the windows have been covered with tarps so the moon can't shine in to guide their way. "wait here. and no peeking."
eddie stands in front of steve in the doorway, makes sure he has his eyes fully shut with a hand over top of his face and trusts that he'll listen. quickly, and ever so quietly, he maneuvers his way through the darkness to light the candles he has strategically placed around. just as quickly and just as quietly, he stands in front of steve, presses a gentle kiss the back of his hand that's still magically covering his eyes.
"okay, open."
the gasp steve lets out makes the trouble of setting everything up worth it. the walls and floor are bare, exposed wood everywhere, except-
"that's more roses than i've ever seen in my life," steve breathes out, and yeah, eddie's pretty proud of himself for that. bundles of roses cover the floor, candle votives placed precariously between them to cast a warm glow through out the room. in the center, there's a table, covered in more roses and more candles and a single piece of paper.
steve steps towards the table when eddie nudges at the small of his back, champagne-laced giggle as he trips slightly over his feet, and reads over the letter in silence. eddie watches from the doorway, sees the light click in steve's head as he turns around quickly with a smile growing over his beautiful, perfect face.
"it's ours?" he says, breathy and disbelieving, key on a chain dangling from is fingers.
eddie walks forward slowly, deliberately, and picks up a rose. he twirls it between his fingers for a second and then hands it to steve so he can put his arms round his waist. presses a kiss the side of his neck, his jaw, his cheek, his lips, only to pull back and whisper in his ear.
"welcome home, mr. munson."
valentine's day prompts: accepting through february 14th!
#THANK YOU FOR SENDING THIS SANNE! EVEN THOUGH I BARELY USED THE PROMPT AT ALL!#yes steve is taking eddie's last name because i said so#also surprise now all my valentines ask are going to be a series idk why but lets go with it#ask meme#answered#sanguineterrain#my writing#steddie#steddie hc#steve harrington#eddie munson#steddie ficlet#steddie drabble#steddie fic

The Worker and The Protestor
I finally finished my notebook *victory screech*. This is what ended off my notebook. I see this being revamped a bit to fit in with my actual Robots & Gardens not just a side off thing. Here we get a dive on Digits' work life and her little crush on Peace. I have so much shit to do XD But I have chosen instead to drink and type this out then get back to work. Me and this Jeager got me through this so I apologize for fuck ups now.
Tag list: @outpost51 @nanashi23 @winterandwords @jezifster @kk7-rbs @aether-wasteland-s @dumbthunder @manathen @the-void-writes @liv-is (Let me know if you want to be added or removed from the taglist!)
Digits grumbled beneath her breath. Lumber over either shoulder that should have been loaded onto one of the transport machines. Shitty little bots that had a variety of bed sizes. Most of the workers just referred to them as “luggers”. They were kinda like trucks with brains but way harder to love. At least you could camp out in a truck bed. These little fucks would toss you into the nearest pit, thinking you were just the next load of building material.
Just as their name foretold. The damn thing busted. Go fucking figure. Some dumbass probably loading too much on a lugger with too small of a bed size.
“Do you even think they tried to get decent ones? Swear this is the fifth lugger to bust this week. They don’t even get a pair at a time no more.” Brian, her roommate and favorite coworker said.
Both grimaced at the lumber added to their stacks. The weight making their feet sink lower into the padding of their shoes. Arguably neither of them had much of that to begin with. Digits’ voice deepened, wavering as she took a step forward. Refusing for any more weight to be added to her bad shoulders. Still aching from a seize up in her arms that had happened a few days prior.
“Only the best for our bitch ass employees.” Digits mocked, pursing her lips and sounding off with a kiss far more enthusiastic than she felt.
Brian’s laughs left in huffs. Carrying his own load over broad shoulders. Uncovered at that, and yes everyone thought he was a weirdo for it.
“Better be cautious.”
Digits scoffed, “Or what they’ll find a way to fuck me up worse?”
“I guess. Carrying around all this isn’t gonna bust some hydraulics or something right?” Brian gave her that concerned look.
That one that was hilarious when he had his bright green emotional support vape hanging from his mouth. Fruity clouds slowly seep from the cracks in his mouth. Slow, unmotivated puffs from his nose too. Headache-inducing, Fruit Loop scented, probably flavored too, clouds forming a field of fumes. It was amazing the man’s eyes never teared up from it. Instead, they drooped to focus intently on Digits. Urgently drifting back to the game.
Arguably Digits still found his concern in her right now hilarious.
“I don’t even know if my prosthetics have hydraulics,” Digits said.
“Haven’t you busted them like a dozen times?”
“Doesn’t mean I know what’s inside of them.”
“I really think that’s part of the problem.”
“You’re really siding with the shit prosthetics. That are probably cooking some nerves in my arms?”
With a quiet arrangement of grunts, she lowered herself to her knee. Muscles flexing beneath her clothing. She slowly leaned aside sliding the stacks into one of the feeders for bulk cuts. She rolled her eyes. Cursing when a stack had briefly tugged her by her high-vis vest. Brian forced the lumber into a tarped bed that would have been attached to a lugger.
“We can’t afford to get them fixed if you bust them Digits,” Brian said breathless.
“We can’t afford. It’s that simple.” Digits stated forcing her way free.
Digits flexed her fingers individually, forcibly straightening out one. She rolled up the sleeves of her hoodie tugging the work issued phone from her back pocket. Arms burning from the strain. Artificial skin unhappily passing over the cracked screen.
She tapped around blankly, eyes scanning the plans for the build and the objectives for the day. Eyes darting back to the time.
“Looks like we need to have the general framework up. Can’t tell if they want a factory or a home though.” Digits joked a bit.
“So we’ve been carting stuff around without any bot help for a fucking private home?” Brian silently fumed.
“An estate,” Digits corrected holding back a laugh at the look on Brain’s face.
He pulled down a pair of safety glasses, running his finger along the top of the lens. A yellow light flickering on in the corner, indicating he was viewing the plans. His fingers tapped absentmindedly at his tool belt. His high-vis vest hung limply from his back pocket. Brian grunted to himself. His eyes darting behind the glasses as he looked at the same schematics Digits was looking at.
Charging feet of other construction members rushed past them. Some hoisting lumber. Some bullying the growing collection of busted machinery.
“I’d start prepping the cuts but I think the gaggle needs some help.”
“You can always set the cuts for the bulk sets. Hold out though.” Digits lifted her head suddenly far more interested in her surroundings, “The protestors will be around soon.”
“Makes sense why those goofs are running then. Trying to look busy on the cameras.” Brian sounded like he was almost scolding them but he did linger around the cutter longer than usual.
Digits laughed softly. She unbuckled her vest, rolling her sleeves back down.
“Yeah, and I’m gonna go see if the lasers on the cutters are actually working.”
Brian laughed, “Uh huh. Might as well check if the machine is working.”
“That’ll take up so much time,” Digits grinned enjoying their banter.
“Enough time to have a personal moment with the red-headed deviant?”
“No such thing as enough time for that.” Digits crossed her arms, face going redder than it currently was from the labor.
The redheaded protestor had approached the grounds. Most of the workers slowing to look over in her direction. A dozen or so of her followers having filtered through to block cameras with signs. Probably advising against this land usage or maybe the waste of money this was. Digits wasn’t really sure. She hadn’t wanted to ruin the mood by asking.
The redhead had paint staining her jersey and hands. Meaning she had probably made those signs. And had probably caused some other destruction on the way.
Digits wondered if she should hate the protestors. Sometimes they did make their lives harder. But even Digits realized it was the company that forced them to deal with it at the end of the day. So the workers can only be mad at the people who hired them. Since the company they worked for had loved to totter the line of giving enough fucks for their workers. It was nice to have the company leads mad at additional people. Almost healing.
The redhead's eyes found Digits. Digits grinned at the silent recognition, her eyes already on the protestor. Peace walked over to the woman, tapping Digits with her foot. The battered shoe knocked dirt off of Digits’ jeans.
“Cameras aren’t watching. Think you’ve worked hard enough?” Peace asked leaning down some in attempts to minimize the distance between them.
“Hey, Peace,” Digits grinned shoving her hands in her hoodie pockets, “Definitely.”
Peace and Digits wandered off to a spray painted curb nearby. Digits sat first sighing content, even though she was resting weary muscles on cement. Peace followed shortly after sitting beside her. She placed both of her arms behind her, stretching her legs out.
“Anything special you want to talk about?” Peace asked curiously, tilting her head in Digits’ direction.
Digits tugged at her fingers inside of her hoodie pocket. Not knowing if there was something big to mention. They had been getting closer as of late. But she refused to give too much away too soon. Arguably it might be too late for that anyway.
Her eyes focused on Peace’s face. Glistening from the sweat, sun seeming to hit her skin just right. She noticed that she could spot Peace’s freckles more easily than usual. She blinked softly seeing the shimmer.
“Not really. Thanks for the paid break though.” Digits laughed trying and failing to get herself to look anywhere else.
“I’d do it for you anytime. It’s kinda fun pissing off the people that put money into being in charge of y’all.” Peace responded, flashing teeth as she grinned.
Digits skinned flushed. She tapped her fingers anxiously on the curb now. Gawking at the beauty beside her. It felt nice not being surrounded by her coworkers all day. Even if her heartbeat was pounding at her temples.
“Appreciated.” Digits spoke, struggling to keep her voice level, proceeding to ask, “Is that makeup?”
Peace beamed now. All teeth, all excitement. She grabbed Digits’ hand dusting it off on the knee of her far less dirty pants. Fully unaware of the widening of Digits’ eyes. Peace guided her hand to her cheek.
“Touch. It doesn’t even smear.” Peace’s joy radiated like the sun on them right now, damn there killer, “Green got it for me.”
Digits tried to speak. Her words nothing more than off pitch babbles. Glad that nodding starstruck was taken as an acceptable answer. Sweat sliding down her forehead and almost into her eye as she tried to memorize the feeling of Peace’s skin. Face reddening as she trailed her hand along Peace’s jaw. Wishing the protestor would just kiss her hand.
Peace quickly tapped the edge of her forehead to Digits’s.
“See told you. Doesn’t even smear.”
Peace grabbed Digits’s hand, holding it out. Her hand remained as unremarkable as before. But her busted hands got to touch the woman of dreams.
Digits sighed, damn there dreamily, smiling with a little more teeth than usual “Yeah. She got you good shit.”

whooooaaaaaa tell me about your original fiction!! we love the sea!! we love the sea monsters and creatures!!!
OH I'm so sorry I never saw this!! Thank you so much for asking, I'd love to talk about it 🌊
The big thing I'm working on now began with a retelling of the myth of Iphigenia. Discussion and moodboard link below!!!
A group of island fishermen believe that they've offended the goddess of the sea, and offer up the life of a beloved daughter to make amends. They throw her body into the sea, but the girl does not die. She cuts through the water and is wrapped in the skin of a seal, transfigured into a half-drowned monster with dark eyes and sharp teeth. Only occasionally does she ever venture towards shore, to chase the fishing boats and sate her new appetite. As she ages and forgets more and more of the life of warmth she once led, she grows to hate the goddess that so rules the attitudes of her village. Every night she peers up from beyond the sea foam and over the sharp rocks to the mountain where her temple stands. Strong but clumsy on land in her new form, the girl could never reach the mountain's peak alone. And she would rather die than ask a villager for help. Storms swallow the island, fueled by her rage. As the years and years roll past her, the desire for revenge only grows stronger.
Decades later, a world-weary fisherman in a decaying house on the edge of the village crosses her path much by accident. Due the bad weather that the island is now famous for, a large tree fell from the cliffs and smashed through the second story of his home. The upper bedroom is destroyed, but this alone doesn't upset him; the room was his sister's, who had not long ago passed from illness that went back to their childhood. She'd always been sickly -- it was the damp, you see. He's ashamed to admit that he's a little relieved to be rid of her, only he isn't exactly. Even in death, she just can't leave him alone. He sleeps in the front room, on the lumpy couch that their father used to take up residence in under a tarp that holds back the leaking from above, but he sees her shadowy form lingering in the doorway. She peers at him through the windows, paces the cracked hall upstairs, reaches out from the cupboards with long, untrimmed fingernails when she thinks he's not looking. To placate her spirit he knows that he needs to fix the roof, but there's a problem. All the solid trees that would make good lumber grow at the top of the island's mountain; he can't go there by himself, not as frail as he is at his age, and there is no one alive he can ask to help him.
When a local's body washes up on the rocky beach near his home, our protagonist finds a strange figure hunched over and chewing through to the bone. In the moonlight, for a crazed instant, he fears that it's his dead sister -- that she has found a way to leave her broken bedroom and haunt the village in her unnatural state. And then those big, watery eyes meet his, and he knows that she too is something not of this world.
Despite their mutual disgust for one another, they eventually strike a deal: if he takes her up the mountain to confront the goddess that caused her death, the selkie will help him cut and carry down wood from the mountain to repair his broken roof. Neither can go there alone: they need each other.
As they climb up the mountain, the storms become heavier. The terrain becomes more dangerous. Monstrous guardians block their path to the temple, and the two have to fight their instincts and place their trust in one another to make it to the goddess alive.
But as this duo comes to find out, not is all as it seems on the island, and the ocean keeps many secrets...
This piece is currently under the working title Merrow. You can view the moodboard I set up for it on Pinterest here! If more people are interested, I might also post excerpts in the future?
#original content do not steal!!1!1#i have a lot of trouble with original fiction but i like this story very much actually!#the story is all plotted out but I'm still working on the actual writing bits... sigh#i'm also aware that 'feral girl plus tired old man duo' is now a really common trope#but i can't help it!!! i just like them!!!!!!#ask me about my ocs too!!!#not spn#text#about#my fic#replies#apocryphiend

Other snake i found and freed.
As much as i love their visits, my mother doesn't since she's afraid of them, and now i'm puzzled since it's been 3 times by now we've encountered them. Got any ideas onto why could they constantly appear? Maybe the adult one we once found had eggs there?
Hey friend!
Another lovely little one! Hmmmm... They're coming inside because inside has something they want plus a means of entry.
First, try to figure out how they're getting in and block their path. You can put peppermint or rosemary oil outside near points of ingress like window and door frames, I've heard snakes will avoid it because it's too strong.
Second, make an educated guess as to what your home has that outside does not, and provide them with a better alternative outside. They probably don't love interacting with you but they're willing to risk it for whatever your house provides. Are they seeking shelter from temperature extremes and predators? Put a wood pile or stack of lumber covered lightly with a tarp a reasonable distance from your house that they can crawl into and feel safe.
Snakes will be starting to brumate for winter within the next month or so, so you likely won't see too many more this year. I hope that you can figure out how they're getting in and stop them, for your poor patient mother's sake!

Extremely Strong Shower Bench
I've gotten feedback from the community asking me to share my plans, so here it is. If you want to build your own shower bench, this is how you do it. Make sure to ask a thinno for help, this will not be easy to do!
This is an extremely strong shower bench with a 1000+lb capacity. The floor under you will fail before the bench does! This shower bench is designed to remove you from the shower and basically have you sit on the ledge. You will need a couple feet of clearance away from your tub's ledge for it to work.
The top of my tub's ledge is about 1' 3⅜" up from the ground. If yours is taller/shorter by more than ¼" or so, you will need to make some adjustments to measurements down below.
This is a photo of the materials I used to make this build. I got everything I needed at my local hardware store. My build wasn't perfect though. I would suggest you learn from my mistakes and acquire a slightly different material list though:
1x 2'×4' plywood sheet. Get something pre-sanded and rated for outdoor use. I recommend ¾" thick.
2x 8' 2×4s. Most any wood type will work, so get what you like most. I just got some normal 2×4s and made sure they looked pretty. If you don't want to bother with staining or weatherproofing the structure of your bench, get pressure-treated 2×4s.
4x 2' ½"×½" square dowel.
4x Simpson Strong-Tie RTC2Z. Get the black-powder-coated ones if you can.
2x Simpson Strong-Tie LUS24Z. These will be used for the cross beam.
4x Simpson Strong-Tie FB24Z. These will be the feet.
1x Simpson Strong-Drive SD9112R100 #9×1½" 100ct Connector Screws. You won't use the whole box. It comes with a bit.
4x 3" common nails.
32x 1½" common nails.
35x 1" brad/finish nails.
200-220 grit sandpaper.
Oil-based high-gloss polyurethane.
Small dense-foam roller & roller pan.
If you're applying stain, oil stain & staining brush for oil stain.
Liquid rubber. Get something that will provide grip.
Rubber-foam weather stripping. The thicker and wider, the better. I got 20' of 1¼"×7⁄16" and it worked great for me.
4x paper clips, hair ties, or something to hang the feet from.
A plastic tarp, thickness is more important than size.
As for tools, you really only need two things:
Hammer
Drill, ratchet, or socket screwdriver
OPTIONAL: File or knife
I also highly recommend some PPE. Get some cheap/disposable cleaning gloves, a mask of some type, hair ties for your hair, and an old change of clothes.
If you don't have access to a table saw at home, *don't leave the store yet!* You need to cut your wood at the store. Many home improvement stores will cut your lumber for you, either for free or for a low price.
Ask an employee to cut the two 2×4s like this:
2×4 #1: 38", 38", 17"
2×4 #2: 33½", 33½", 13", 13"
NOTE: If your tub ledge was taller/shorter than mine, then for every 1" difference, lengthen/shorten each 33½" cut by TWO inches.
Then ask them to cut two dowels down to 20½", and two down to 24".
You should also ask them to take 6" off the short side of the plywood, so it's 2'×3½' instead of 2'×4'.
You're not ready to leave yet! You need to make two more cuts, and the store employees will not help you with these. Many home improvement stores will have a DIY handsaw table where you can cut moulding down to length. You'll need to use this to make the last two cuts yourself.
You need to make an ANGLED cut into the 33½" boards. Lay the first 33½" board down flat as shown. On the edge closest to you, mark a point 1' 5⅛" away from the left end of the board. Then on the edge farthest from you, mark a point 1' 5¼" away from the same left end of the board. Position your saw across both points, and cut through the board. You may need to roll the board over to finish the cut.
NOTE: If your tub ledge was taller/shorter than mine, then for every 1" of difference, add/remove 1" from the 1' 5⅛" / 1' 5¼" measurements above.
For the second board, *do not measure!* It is more important that the cuts in the boards be identical than it is for any one cut to have exact dimensions. Lay the second board down, then set one of the cut pieces on top so the ends of the two boards are aligned, then use the existing angle in the cut piece to start the cut in the second board.
When you are done, you will have four boards, two slightly taller than the others, with the exact same angle cut in all of them. In the above photo, the boards are resting on their angled ends. These pieces will be your long and short legs.
NOW you can bring everything home.
First, lay down your tarp somewhere. Ideally you'll have access to a 5'×10' flat area outside.
Then you need to sand *everything* (except the big faces of the plywood, and the pressure-treated wood if you went that route). Pay special attention to the corners and cuts in the wood.
Now you need to attach the square dowels to the outside of the plywood board. Choose a face of the board to be the "up" face, the one you'll sit on. Put the 24" dowels on top, right along the short edges. Choose a long edge to be the back, and squeeze the two shorter dowels in along it between the side dowels. Nail everything down with the finish nails.
Next is staining, if you chose to stain. Apply according to the directions on the tin. You will likely have to do multiple coats.
Now the truly hard part, applying polyeurethane. I recommend using the foam roller for this and applying many coats. You can prop up the plywood sheet using the 2×4s if you like so you can get all the way around the edges in one pass. You'll still need to flip it over and do three more passes when done with the top, so you can protect the underside from warping.
While waiting for your polyethylene to dry, you may as well make the rubber feet. Grab your four FB24Zs and tie something through one of the holes in the end. Open your can of liquid rubber and follow the instructions to fully submerge each one before leaving it out to dry. One coat should be enough. Once dry, try to remove excess rubber from the inside using a file or knife.
When everything's had a good long dry (at least a day after final coat), it's time for assembly.
Grab your two 38" boards, your two 13" boards, all four of your legs, and your four RTC2Zs — everything except what's highlighted red in the first photo above. Set the 38" boards down on their narrow side along the long edges of the board, and the 13" boards down on their narrow side along the short edges of the board. Bring them together to form a rectangle, then set the RTC2Zs upside-down on the corners. Each RTC2Z has an L-shaped hole in its bottom; the top/bottom of each L-shaped hole will be filled by the ends of the 38" boards, while the center and left/right of each hole will be filled by the legs. The ends of each 38" board will butt against the wide side of the legs, while the ends of each 13" board will butt against the narrow side of the legs. Now make sure everything is pressed firmly together as you use the Strong-Drive screws to attach the RTC2Zs to the 38" & 13" boards. For each corner, four screws go into the 38" board and two screws go into the 13" board. *DO NOT ATTACH THE LEGS YET!* The legs are just here for spacing right now. Remove the legs when everything is attached.
Grab your 17" board and your LUS24Zs. The 17" board should squeeze in nicely right in the middle, turning your blocky 0 into a blocky 8. Straighten out your LUS24Zs if needed (mine were bowed outwards too much), set them down over the ends of the 17" board, and use 4 screws each to attach them to the sides of the 38" boards. Now grab your long 3" nails and use two on each LUS24Z, installing them at a 45° angle into the remaining holes. They'll nail at an angle into the 17" board and go straight through into the 38" board.
Flip everything over such that the plywood board is now resting good-side-up on top of the mostly-complete frame, with the whole thing resting on the rounded bottoms of the RTC2Zs. Center the frame between the left and right sides of the plywood (should be ½" overhang on each side); let the plywood's back overhang ½" off the back of the frame, and its front overhang 3½" off the front. Now use the 1½" common nails to nail in the plywood into the frame. I used four lines of nails, one for each outer board; measurements are in the second photo above.
OPTIONAL: Apply a final polyurethane coat over the nail heads. This will need a day or two to dry.
Screw the feet into the ends of the legs. See the third photo above for a reference. Try to make the feet as straight and snug as you can get them.
Insert the legs into the holes left from step 1. The short legs go in on the front side, and the long legs go in on the back side. You should have a bench that tilts slightly forward, to allow for water to drain into the tub. Use some sort of material as a spacer as necessary to adjust each leg to level out the bench. Don't be afraid to introduce gaps between the legs and the plywood; the metal connectors are what hold the weight. Once everything is nice and level, use six screws on each leg to attach then to the RTC2Zs.
Apply your rubber-foam stripping. I applied stripping all along the length of my tub's ledge AND along the underside of my bench.
And you're done! Your bench will look different than the photo above, I hadn't yet added the stripping, the wooden dowel siding, or the feet. And perhaps you chose a different stain color, or made your legs out of pressure-treated wood! In any case, this thing is built like a tank (made with actual home framing materials) and shouldn't break easily. I hope it serves you well!

PotP Ch 53 - Christmas With The Krampus: Part 2
Hiro awoke with a start when something heavy and furry jumped on his stomach, and then jumped off.
"oooofff"
Winded, he sat straight up and saw Ruddiger scurrying out of the room and down the stairs. The raccoon was carrying a dead fish in its mouth and Hiro almost gagged as the raw fishy smell started to fill the room.
Hiro rolled his eyes, trying to ignore the stench; his window was open from where the pet had crawled inside, so that helped. He looked again at the clock by his bedside. It was still four in the morning.
He huffed in frustration and tried to go back to bed.
Only to roll over onto a puddle of cold, wet saltwater that had dripped off of the fish.
Disgusted, he sputtered and sat up again.
That was it!
He got out of bed and stormed after the striped pest.
He found the raccoon in the hallway balancing on one of the heavy picture frames, fish still in its mouth. He wiggled his tail and then took a flying leap toward the foldaway ladder that led to the attic.
Hiro rushed to grab the picture before it hit the ground, while Ruddiger snagged the rope used to pull the ladder down with his paws.
Hiro watched the troublesome pet hang there for a moment as he replaced the fallen portrait.
"Can you not make a mess wherever you go?" Hiro asked in annoyance.
He was ignored of course, as the raccoon's weight started to loosen the ladder and it lowered itself to the floor.
Ruddiger let go of the rope and hopped onto the stepladder in one fell swoop before it even touched the ground, never losing hold of the prize in his mouth.
Hiro reluctantly decided to follow.
He lumbered up the steps and with some effort lifted up the trap door to the upper room, the one that Ruddiger had so nimbly slipped through only moments before.
It took a moment for Hiro's eyes to pierce the darkness.
"Ruddiger?" He whispered as he scanned the small and dusty room piled high full of junk that created ominous shapes in the shadows. Finally, his eyes rested upon a small furry shape that was moving in the dark.
However, it wasn't the friendly family pet that he found.
No sooner than did Hiro turn his head to look at the creature than the creature stopped moving to look at him.
It had fierce yellow eyes that seemingly glowed in the dark, the half-eaten fish was in its paws, and its striped tail flicked in annoyance at having been interrupted during its meal.
The human and wild raccoon stared at each other for only a moment, seemingly unsure of what to do.
Then it hissed at him!
Hiro's eyes widen at the bared teeth. He gulped and slowly retreated from the room, daring not to look away as he did so. He gently closed the trap door, hoping not to scare the creature into attacking, and then bolted down the hall as soon as he was sure the coast was clear.
-----------------
"Tadashi..... Tadashi!"
Tadashi was jostled awake by Hiro's terrified whispers.
"You just couldn't wait could you." He yawned and rolled over.
"No, you don't understand. There's a raccoon in the attic."
Tadashi paused, confused. "Ruddiger?"
"No, not Ruddiger. Come on."
Hiro tugged on his sleeve and Tadashi relented. Thinking to grab his cell phone from the nightstand, he followed Hiro into the hall.
His little brother anxiously waited at the foot of the latter as Tadashi opened the trap door to the attic.
He used the flashlight on his cell to scan the room.
The light landed on a blonde raccoon, just as Hiro had said.
It hissed at him and Tadashi slowly backed away from the sharp teeth.
That's when he noticed the other furry mass writhing under a tarp next to the fearsome creature.
"Well? Do you see it?" Hiro called out to him.
"Yeah... and 'it' ain't the only thing up here."
-----------------
A tear of happiness threatened to spill out of the corner of Varian's eye as he looked upon the scene before him.
Eight little raccoons were huddled together on a tarp in the attic. They weren't even old enough to open their eyes yet as they crawled around whimpering for attention.
"I'm a Grandpa." He sniffed with joy.
Hiro only rolled his eyes at that statement, before casting another wary glace back at the mama raccoon in the center of the gathering.
Said mother was silently hissing at the four intruders, but couldn't really move away as she was still nursing four of the babies.
Varian ignored this warning and sat down next to her and the kits. He gently petted the top of her head. An action that so confused the poor creature that for a moment it forgot to bare its teeth.
"And this must be Mrs Ruddiger! I'm calling you Missy for short, how's that?"
'Missy' of course did not voice an opinion either way.
Ruddiger however was delighted to introduce his children to his owner and so kept picking up the tiny cubs and placing them in Varian's lap. Only for Missy to keep snatching them away as soon as he did, but there were so many of them that all three lost count in the confusing merry-go-round.
"Oh, how cute!" Aunt Cass exclaimed as she watched the scene. "Baby raccoons..... in my attic."
This last revelation was spoken with far less enthusiasm.
"So what are we going to do with them?" Tadashi asked.
"Uh, keep them of course," Varian said indignantly, now juggling several of the babies in his arms and holding them close.
Aunt Cass only gave a weary sigh.
"We're seriously not keeping them... are we?" Hiro asked, a hint of trepidation in his voice.
Varian was going to protest again but Aunt Cass held up her hands to stop any arguments.
Then with a forced smile, she said, "You know what... It's Christmas. We'll discuss the matter further tomorrow, but for now, they can stay for Christmas."
"And you're not just saying that because pest control has the day off today." Tadashi quipped.
"They're not pests!" Varian scoffed.
"Let's just.. go open presents! Huh?" Cass interrupted. "How about that? It's already six and we're all awake. It'll be just like when you were kids."
No one really agreed, but the boys followed her out of the attic anyway. But not before Varian had kissed and hugged his newfound pets goodbye.
-----------------
Tensions subsided once presents were passed out.
Varian got a new Swiss army knife to add to his collection. Hiro got a new video game; Mind Smith Trubo: Racing. Tadashi got a gag shirt with a mustache on it, which he loved. And Aunt Cass was opening up the gift the boys had gotten her, right when the doorbell rang.
It was Krei, loaded down with a bunch of presents of his own.
"Merry Christmas!"
"Oh Alister, you're early..."
"Well, you know me... I can't wait to share the joys of the season. For you."
He handed Aunt Cass one of the smaller gifts.
She opened it to find a very expensive pearl necklace inside.
"Oh, Alister... you shouldn't hav-"
"Nothing but the best for my best gal!" Krei winked and then he practically shoved the rest of the presents into the boys' arms.
Each gift was obviously worth a whole lot but all were horribly missed-suited to their recipient.
"Um... thanks..." Hiro said hesitantly as he wondered what he could do with a diamond-crusted shaving kit.
Tadashi however was already formulating plans to sell his online, it was a solid gold tie clip.
Varian however couldn't even tell what his present was.
"It's a wine stopper, made of pure Koa wood", Krei helpfully explained.
"Cool... maybe we should get some wine and test it out?"
"Uh.. how about no." Aunt Cass was not amused. "Alister, this is all very ... thoughtful... of you, but you needn't go to all this troub-
"Trouble? No trouble at all Cass. Why, it's Christmas! And what better time to spoil people than at Christmas? And speaking of surprises..."
Keri snapped his fingers and caters rushed in with steaming platters of food.
"Egg rolls for breakfast?" Aunt Cass voiced in confusion as plates of dim sum sailed past her.
Tadashi leaned over to Hiro and whispered "I told you" into his ear.
Varian leaned against the kitchen door frame and took another sip of his milk tea. Brunch was over with and the caterers were long gone, along with a hefty tip that Aunt Cass insisted on paying, even at Keri's protest.
They had jostled each other trying to reach for their wallets first, each trying to pay the waiters before the other could. With Aunt Cass saying that it was only fair if she'd paid the tip since Keri had paid for the meal itself, and Keri insisting that he would pay for everything as it was his gift to the family.
The end result was the employees of the House of Yank Sing left with double the pay and a nice Christmas bonus while a full-blown argument between their aunt and the billionaire boyfriend had continued on into the family living room.
Currently, the boys sat back and watched as the adults had their 'discussion', not really taking sides and only mildly interested in what the outcome may be.
"I just don't understand why you're so upset, Cass." Krei huffed, bewildered, as he flopped down on the sofa, sweet bun in hand.
"I'm not upset." Aunt Cass snapped. "I just... I need you to understand that all this is too much... Alister, are you listening?"
"M'mmm missming" the billionaire hummed as he took a bite of dessert.
Aunt Cass rolled her eyes and sat in the recliner with a heavy sigh.
Krei hastily swallowed his food. "Oh Cass, you're making a big deal over nothing. I know you don't want me doing everything for you... b-but it's Christmas. It's a special occasion, you're meant to give gifts."
"Alister... I appreciate the thought, really I do, but a gift doesn't have to be expensive or flashy, or-"
She was cut off by Ruddiger snagging the sweet bun out of Krei's hand and running back off to the attic.
"Hey! Give that back you flea-bitten rodent!" Krei yelled as he stormed after the furry thief.
"Are you sure you even want it back after he's eaten off it?" Tadashi asked.
Krei paused in consideration, coughed, and straightened his tie. "It's the principle of the thing."
"There's still plenty more in the kitchen," Varian said, pointing back to the counter piled high with leftovers. They were going to be eating Chinese for a week.
"Oh, that's the other thing that's bothering me." Aunt Cass moaned. "What are we going to do with all of those raccoons?"
"You mean you have more?" Keri asked, dumbfounded.
"Ruddgier just became a proud father," Hiro said, not without a hint of sarcasm. "We have a whole mess of them up in the attic right now."
"Along with one very scary mama raccoon," Tadashi added, taking a sip of his own tea.
"Well, have you thought to call animal control?"
"We're not getting rid of them!" Varian snapped. "They're family!"
Aunt Cass sighed. "Sweetie... they're wild animals. They can't stay here forever, and it's not like you can put them up for adoption."
"You're aunt's right." Keri agreed. "It's not fair to them to keep them cooped up as pets."
"Also just because you tamed Ruddiger doesn't mean you tame all of them," Tadashi said.
"Agreed," Baymax added. "Non-domesticated raccoons can be aggressive, and can cause severe bodily harm and property damage. It is not safe to keep them."
Varian looked to each face present pleadingly. He was losing ground.
"B-but what are the animal control people going to do to them?"
"Well... I'm sure they'll find a new home for them Sweetheart." Aunt Cass reassured. "Maybe a nice tree in the woods or a.. a den of some sort.."
"And just how are we supposed to find them again?" Varian pressed.
"Find them?" Aunt Cass echoed confused.
"They're his kids!" Varian shouted back aghast. "The love of his life! You trying to separate Ruddiger from his family!"
"Actually the kits could have any number of fathers," Krei stated matter-of-factly. "Raccoons aren't monogamous and typically the dads don't stick around."
Varian gave the billionaire a cold hard stare and stiffened a little. "Ruddiger may be the stepdad, but he's also the dad who steps up."
No one knew how to respond to that.
"Maybe... I don't know... maybe there's a zoo or an animal rehab that will take them instead?" Tadashi offered up as a compromise.
Krei snapped his fingers. "That's it! We're building a new wildlife facility in Muirahara Woods! The plan is to eventually open a summer camp as part of the park. The rangers could keep them on the reserve. They can be a part of the wildlife classes. That way you and Ruddiger can go visit them any time you like."
Aunt Cass's face lit up. "Oh, Alister that's a wonderful idea!"
"I know." The rich man smirked; knowing he had just saved the day as she flung her arms around him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "How 'bout it, sport?"
Varian considered the proposal. "... anytime I want?"
"Sure. Why you can even volunteer at the park if you want. Help take care of them."
Varian bit his lip in thought.
"Sounds like a fairly good deal to me," Tadashi added as encouragement.
"Alright," Varian nodded in agreement. "that might work."
"Great!" Krei clapped his hands and rubbed them together as he always did when planning a new business venture. "Now the crew has the week off for the holidays so they may not be able to pick up the raccoons until after the New Year."
"I'm sure we can manage till then." Aunt Cass assured as she and the kids followed him downstairs.
"Speaking of New Years. I need to head out and pack for my flight tomorrow. Mother is hosting a society ball in Paris, and I 'must attend since I missed the Christmas fundraising dinner in London'."
"Oh, how utterly torturous for you." Aunt Cass teased.
"Yes, the sacrifices I must make to be a dutiful son. I'd far rather spend New Year's kissing you."
Aunt Cass smiled and leaned closer. "I'll blow a kiss your way come midnight."
Hiro made a gagging motion with his hand as their lips touched.
They didn't notice.
Then Krei was gone with another goodbye, and Aunt Cass waved after him as she closed the door.
"Well, that's one crisis averted." She sighed, right before the door was flung open again with a bang!
"Vigor!"
Everyone turned to see the very frazzled Canardist standing in the doorway. Her hair was disheveled and her eyes were wild with fear.
"He took my precious Vigor!" She wailed again.
"I'm s-sorry, but who's Vigor?" Was all the dumbfound Cass could ask. "Also for that matter, who are you?"
The boys rushed forward to help the old woman to a chair.
"She's a... a friend..." Hiro partially lied. "Madme Canardist runs a shop in the mall we like to go to."
"What happened to Vigor?" Tadashi said seriously, focusing on the problem.
"The Krampus kidnapped him!"
"The Krampus?" Varian raised an eyebrow as he handed the woman a warm cup of tea.
She downed it in one gulp.
"Who's Vigor again?" Aunt Cass whispered to Hiro, still trying to keep up with what was happening.
"Her pet monkey." He whispered back.
Aunt Cass mouthed both her surprise and understanding with a silent 'Oh' but didn't say anything further.
Varian ignored this exchange. "The Krampus is just a myth. He's no more real than Saint Nicholas."
"You think so Malchik?" came Canardist's cryptic reply, as Tadashi got her another cup of tea. She had regained her composure and now projected the cool demeanor that they were more used to. "After everything you've seen? After everything you know? How can you be so sure that myths aren't real?"
Varian rolled his eyes. "Because, if all those Christmas stories were real, I wouldn't have caught Dad putting oranges in my shoes when I was three."
"Why would he put oranges in your shoes?" Hiro asked.
Varian blinked in surprise.
"Because he was pretending to be St. Nicholas," he said simply, as if this explained everything.
"Why would Santa Claus put fruit in people's shoes?" Tadashi asked, equally confused.
Varian shrugged in exasperation. "I don't know. It's tradition. Why does he put candy in socks here?"
Hiro and Tadashi had to concur that they didn't know why either.
"I'm sorry, but what does this have to do with a... what was it... Cramp... Cramp-us?" Interrupted Aunt Cass, now completely confused.
"The Krampus!" Canardist roared, jumping up suddenly and lurching around to mimic the monster she saw. "A creature of legend, the Krampus emerges every Christmastide to snatch souls away to drag into the underworld! Over eight feet tall, razor-sharp fangs, claws that can render a man in two, monstrous horns, and a smell like sulfur and rotting onions!" She huffed as if remembering an unpleasant memory, and then she sniffled as tears ran down her cheeks once more. "And it has my wonderful Vigor!"
She broke down into more wails.
Aunt Cass rushed to her side and patted the poor woman on the shoulder to console her.
"It's alright..." She soothed. "It's alright. The boys and I will help you find your pet. Won't we boys?"
"But there is no Krampus." Varian loudly whispered.
"I know that." Aunt Cass whispered back. "but it's Christmas, and she's upset. You wouldn't want Mochi or Ruddiger lost out there, would you?"
Varian rolled his eyes. "Fine."
"Of course, we'll help," Tadashi confirmed as he grabbed his coat. "It's the least we can do."
"And Baymax has his scanners. We should find Vigor in no time." Hiro told the old lady encouragingly, as he too put on a jacket.
Madame Canardist blew her nose loudly into a napkin that was on the table and gave him a teary smile of gratitude.
"Here let's get you some lunch to go with that tea." Aunt Cass offered as the boys started to head out."Just call if you need us."
"We will!" Tadashi yelled back.
"We'll also let you know as soon as we find your pet Misses Canardist," Hiro promised.
"And we'll prove that there's no Krampus while we're at it." Varian smugly finished as he grabbed his scarf off the coat rack and closed the door behind him.
-----------------
Vigor's breath hung white in the cool air as he panted. He ran on all fours, pulling himself up onto shop awnings, crawling up escape ladders and brick walls, and flinging himself across rooftops in an effort to escape.
He still heard the lumbering footsteps and howls of the monster pursuing him.
He dropped down onto a deserted sidewalk and ducked into an alley. Only to find himself at a dead end.
Cornered, he turned in panic as something large and hairy jumped down to the ground after him.
The monkey's terrified scream could be heard a block away.

You know I have to ask for Raph and cuddling by the fire 🔥 please??? ♥️♥️♥️😘😘😘
“I’m skippin’ patrol tonight”
He put it bluntly and honestly, not forcefully but more like a request if anything. Leonardo understood. Things had slowed down during the holidays and he knew that Raph had wanted, no, needed to spend some extra time with you.
“Granted”
The leader nodded his head with a slight curl of his lips.
“Just don’t be out too late. Father won’t approve.”
With that the burly beast began thundering towards your apartment still abandoned by you. He knew you’d still be stuck at the movie theater at least an hour or so and he had to make everything just right before you got home. He made his way to your rooftop we’re he had hidden some lumber he had chopped at April’s parents farm house upstate earlier in the year. Firewood that he kept covered from the elements with a tarp.
Without hesitation the burly brute quickly curled several logs into his massive arm and dropped down upon your window stoop. You always kept it unlocked for him and so he invited himself in as he always did. Raphael took a few moments to take in all the creative decor, a massive tree with all the trimmings… twinkling lights with tons of red balls, his color. He chuckled at this. One of the many reasons this was his favorite time of year.
He approached your fireplace admiring your mantle piece and stockings all labeled, one for him this year of course made his body fill with heat. He pulled back the metal curtain placing each log particularly so as he stood back and realized he forgot the kindling.
“No matter. I got tha perfect start fer a fire.”
He chuckles and unwraps one of his dressings from his thigh still dry as he had not seen combat for this evening. He pulled out the zippo you had gifted him for his birthday this past spring and lighted the fabric placing it carefully beneath the dry wood. It began to crack and pop as the heat took hold making the home smell of lucious cedar. He kept close eye on the flames as they began to rise, stoking each log until the flames began to settle evenly and the heat began to warm the living room.
“Now I wait… fer her.”
He purred softly almost getting lost in the fiery flames that reminded him so much of himself.
You had just stepped off the subway, cold, tired and just over all the bullshit. Your heels clacked against the icy payment as you darted towards your apartment building noticing that the windows were all a glow. Your brow arched as you reached your stoop in wonder. It wasn’t a scary feeling but more so a pleasant one. You buzzed yourself in and made your way up the stairs pausing for a moment at your door to hear any movement inside.
Raphael could hear your footsteps and swiftly made his way to the side of your door awaiting for you to open it. You turned the latch slowly, taking one step in only to see a beautiful fireplace lit before you. You begin to smile, closing the door behind you as two massive arms begin to wrap around your coat, relieving you from its heaviness.
“Merry Christmas baby girl”
His low growl rumbled against the curve of your neck as you all but dropped your belongings and fell back into his embrace.
“I made us a fire. Somethin’ nice an warm. Whatcha think hm? Let’s go snuggle on tha couch and just enjoy tha fire?”
His massive hand engulfed yours, leading you towards the couch directly in front of the fireplace. Once there he removed your heeled boots and socks. He curled you up against his body, muzzle nuzzling the curve of your neck, as his hands gently massaged the cold from your toes and feet. You looked up at him in wonder.
“How did I get so lucky? To have such a big sweet brute at my feet?”
This granted a chuckle from him as he nuzzled you once more, this time his lips planting soft, luscious kisses upon your neck as he pulled you even closer.
“Just you wait till ya warm up. I also got a bear skin rug waiting on ya.”

Lumber Tarps,Steel tarps,Machinery tarps, flatbed truck tarps - Jum Tarps
lumber tarp, steel tarp, and custom tarp are all made with similar PVC tarpaulin components. They are perfect for covering cargoes to protect them from the elements like rain, snow, and wind.
Jumtarps is a Chinese manufacturer of lumber tarps, the real source of manufacturers, cheap and high quality
Weather you are looking for a lumber, steel or custom tarp they are all made with similar components. In most cases we manufacture trucking tarps out of the 18oz vinyl coated fabric but weights range from 10oz-40oz. The vinyl panels are hot air welded together to create a strong bond for the proper size tarp to cover your load. We reinforce the hem of the tarp with 2 inch webbing this helps prevent the ends of the tarp from being damaged when faced with high freeway winds also allowing structural support when securing the tarp to your trailer. We have been in the industry for a long time and we know that not everything you haul will be the same size. We construct our steel and lumber tarps with multiple trucking-tarp places to connect rope or rubber straps to and we offers options to meet your preferences.

⚡️⚡️ RO-TO-TO! VIDEO INCOMING. ⚡️⚡️
The video is angled upwards, having been propped up against a tree to face the coast. The Rotomdex yawns, almost ending the video early given the unnatural amount of static surrounding the edges of the feed–
–The camera snaps down at the harsh sound of latigo straps being swiftly secured, followed by the light snapping of metal clasps. One bag closed after another, Derek seeming to keep a rhythmic pace as he’s packing supplies onto his charizard’s flight gear. Near the ground next to him floats Charmie, dozing mid-air while its eyes remain wide open, the dimness of their lights being the only indication of having been “closed”. The man shuffles closer to one of the nearby berry trees, plucking a singular Pecha berry, and dropping it into the designated leather pocket.
In the midst of his tone-deaf humming, he lets out a soft sigh, kneeling closer to the grass and ushering the sleeping Elgyem to float to a position where he could grab and carry it under his arm. Paral relaxes, wings coating the ground like a heavy tarp, causing the man to look back at her for a moment and quietly chuckle.
“I’m sure your family will be just fine here, yeah..?”
He walks closer to her again, free hand behind his back before gently petting the frame of her wings, the dragon letting out an attitude-filled, impatient huff.
“Alright! Hah, alright.. We’re going.”
The man takes a few steps back, a final glance to make sure everything is nicely secured.
“Tik, don’t drag too far behind. I will not be coming back for you if you wait too long.”
“AAGH! YOU WOULD! YOU KNOW YOU WOULD! YOU WOULD NOT LEAVE YOUR BEST ROTOM STRANDED OVER THE OPEN SEAS AGAIN!”
“Well, are you willing to test that theory?”
“UH… hmrmm….”
The camera zips closer to the oversized salandit, frustrated electronic grumbles escaping the Rotomdex while I buckle myself into a designated leather strap. Derek gleams a smart smile as he walks by, making me feel ten times better about his previous remarks for sure. A small “hup” is heard while the man hoists himself up onto the flight gear, the saddle rocking slightly in response.
The man mumbles a command, Paral now lumbering to her feet in preparation. What starts as an uneven stumble turns into a walk, and from a walk to a run. One step after another, the dragon builds up momentum, th-
“WAAHAAAHUGHUHGG AAAAAAA !!!!!!!”
… Please ignore that. That was not me screaming. It was the elgyem.
Byebye, weird island! Wondering where this idiot is dragging me to next.

who: closed starter for @pixiedustdiana where: the side of a road in echo acres
·✥·
"I get it, Blue. I get that you're angry," he told the old pickup patiently, as he inspected the engine, waving off a cloud of smoke. "You've been under a tarp for over a year, and then when I finally let you see the sun, I didn't bother checking in with you. That's on me. I know it doesn't excuse anything, but... I was going through some stuff." Yeah, this wasn't liable to be fixed any time soon. Nico peered up at the darkening evening sky, and was estimating how far he was from home when he caught sight of a neighbour. "Hey, Diana!" he waved over at her, from where he'd pulled the truck off the road when it'd started complaining. The bed was filled with lumber, which he was realizing he might have to carry back to the house. "You don't happen to know anything about engines? I've hit the limit of my knowledge."
