With that, Master Wu turned to his older brother and said, “Garmadon, Brother, I’m sorry. I am really, truly sorry.”

They all stared at him. What did that mean?

“For what?” asked Lord Garmadon, eyeing him suspiciously.

“For my actions after your transformation,” said Master Wu, looking regretful. “You came to me lost, confused, and needing my help, and I failed you.”

“I didn’t n-ne-nee-NnnnNNNn” Lord Garmadon attempted to say. He was trying to deny it, but the words refused to come out. Finally, he threw up his hands and snapped, “Okay, fine! I needed you! I’d just been bitten, poisoned, nearly died, went through the most painful experience of my life, and just when I managed to drag myself over to you, you attacked me ‘cause I looked like an Oni!” He glowered at his brother with his burning red eyes. “You called me a monster!”

Master Wu bowed his head at his words. “I didn’t realize it was you,” he admitted. “I thought… some imposter had stolen you away and was making a poor attempt to take your place. I thought I was saving you. I did not see the truth until it was too late.” He looked at his brother square in the eyes. “I have never regretted anything more. I am sorry, Brother.”

Lord Garmadon was startled at his words and looked ready to deny them, but a glance at the teapot reminded him of their situation. So instead he just kept quiet and turned away, a contemplative look on his face.

Master Wu sighed again at this. “I do not expect you to forgive me,” he continued. “I merely wanted you to believe me that I wish I could take back my actions that day. That I had been a better brother.”

Lord Garmadon remained silent, but his expression wasn’t as angry, so there was that.

There was a moment of silence as the rest of them absorbed what the two had said.

“Is that why you said you felt responsible for Dad attacking the city?” Luh-Loyd asked, drawing his uncle’s attention to him.

“Yes,” said Master Wu. “Perhaps if I hadn’t rejected him, things might not have come to that.”

This is kind of my own head canon, but I talked about it a bunch with Kay Hau. 

We wanted to come up with why M!Wu and M!Garmadon are so against each other aside from just the sibling rivalry. Like, there’s so much vitriol from Lord G’s side. I’m pretty sure there had to be something more. I didn’t have the Movieverse have the Great Devourer, so him being poisoned with evil can’t be the reason. 

So I thought, what if Wu fucked up big time. What if when Lord G got bitten by his own snake and grew his four arms, Wu didn’t recognize him. 

What if Wu attacked him.

And then, with Lord G going through what is probably one of the worst days of his life, having Wu fight him instead of helping him might have been the final straw. If everyone, even his family, saw him as a monster then fine. He’d be the biggest monster of them all. 

And that is my imagining of Movie Lord Garmadon’s villain origin story. And Master Wu has regretted it ever since.

Backstory: Damian has been divorced twice but is married to Nicole Lum and has been so for thirty-six years. Damian has been a wrestler since he was eighteen and married Viola’s mother, Marion, when he was nineteen. He has a total of nine kids, but only Viola wrestles. He got the idea of being the King of Hell when Viola started working with him, when she was twenty, from rereading the bible while drunk and asking Viola if she was his pride and joy. She jokingly replied 'I’m definitely your pride’.

The critical hit portraits are at nearly 300 notes whilw im writing this and I am beyond happy so many people enjoy my silly little idea. The AU is still sitting in my brain and I'm writing headcanons for it.

Idk if I'm going to separate them by character with little character references, or just infodump it all into one page. For now here's some general stuff I've come up with. I'll put it under a readmore after the first five bc there's a lot.

Setting is a blend of Ninjago City in the show and the 10 or so minutes I saw of it in the movie before Luh-Loyd happened.

Shadows attack the city regularly, but only at night. In the AU, they're spawned from the Overlord and cannot handle natural sunlight.

I'm limiting Shadows to only be active at night to mimic the Dark Hour in P3 while still being separate, and to give myself plenty of opportunities to use P3-5's social sim aspects like Social Links/Confidants.

I'm only gonna refer to Social Link/Confidants as just Social Links (SLs), but they'll still have the same kind of benefits as Confidants.

There won't be any other world the group goes to in order to fight Shadows. The Velvet Room is technically the only other world present, but only Lloyd and Wu can go in there.

The main group are all teenagers and in school, it wouldn't be a Persona AU if they're weren't lol.

Cole is 18 and in 12th grade. Kai and Jay are 17 and in 11th grade. Nya is 16, but skipped a grade and is in 11th with Kai and Jay. Lloyd is 14 and in 8th grade (middle school). Zane and Pixal (I've decided she will be part of the main group) are a bit of a special case.

Both of them are still robots like in Ninjago. They're Anti-Shadow Supression Weapons created by Borg Industries (they kinda serve the same function as the Kirijo Group in P3.) Zane was a prototype and was due to be scrapped as he had become outdated. He ended up joining the party shortly after its formation instead. Pixal is a much more recent model and will be the very last member of the party.

Since Anti-Shadow weapons are still considered fairly new in the AU, Zane would be roughly between 8-12, but have the mental functions on par with the older members of the group. So he's treated as being the same age as Cole. He does attend school with the group and is in the 12th grade as well. I'm kinda mimicking what was done with both Aigis and Labrys in P3 and P4 respectively.

Pixal was built much more recently, maybe 4 years prior to the AU? Still figuring that out. She's practically a walking computer with an internet connection and all, but she's considered as young as Nya. They even parallel with Pixal being like a younger sister to Zane. (Sorry, I'm not a big PixZane shipper.) Pixal does not attend school at all and has no desire to. For Pixal, I'm kinda treating her based off of what I understand of Sophia in P5S even though I haven't seen much from that game at all yet.

Wu and Garmadon are from the Velvet Room. They both regularly left the Velvet Room to enjoy the human world. Garmadon started a family with Misako and had Lloyd, but later went missing and hasn't returned to the Velvet Room since.

First Spinjitsu Master and Overlord kinda take over the role of Philemon and Nyarlathotep. FSM isn't ever present, he leaves everyone to their own devices. Overlord, on the otherhand, is the main antagonist and is the reason why Garmadon is missing.

Wu is the current caretaker of the Velvet Room, Igor is on vacation or something.

When Wu isn't present in the Velvet Room, Morro watches over it. Morro will also be Lloyd's Attendant. They don't like each other 💔

Cole, Nya and Lloyd won't be getting their normal elements. I'm sticking to P5R's battle system and elements, as well as weaknesses and technicals for enemies. I wont be using anything in P1, the P2 duology, or other parts of MegaTen because most of their systems are insane and have too much going on lol.

For Cole, there is an Earth element, but it hasn't been used since P1 and the P2 duology, and was included in a few other parts of MegaTen. His Persona will mainly have Physical skills, since that still fits him. Maybe a few Almighty skills just to give him a bit more variety too lol. Probably gonna base his skillset off Shinjiro's in P3.

Nya is in a similar spot to Cole, yet somehow worse. Water is also an element in the series, but from my understanding it was ONLY used in the P2 duology and nowhere else is MegaTen. P5 does have Ice, but that's kinda stepping Zane's toes. She'll have a few low level Ice skills, but I think I'm gonna test out a skillset centering around Nuke for her. If that doesn't work out, then I'll have to come up with something else.

The closest I can pin to Lloyd is Force, but again I'm sticking to P5R. Next best is Curse, Bless or Psychokinesis. Lloyd is also the main Wildcard, so it doesn't entirely matter, but for now I'll just be giving his initial Persona Curse skills.

I'm running with my headcanon that there can be multiple naturally chosen Wildcards, but only one can reach the true potential of the ability. So both Lloyd and Kai get the Wildcard ability, as a sort of nod to how Kai was originally going to be the main protagonist in the show before Lloyd was added.

Kai's Wildcard is similar to Akechi in P5. He can only summon two Personas. His own initial one, and one to represent his bond with Nya.

Also Kai does not have Velvet Room privileges.

Rune's name is what you'd expect, pronounced like "Roon"!

Malachi is pronounced "Ma-luh-kai" with a hard C sound. Though I understand the tendency to pronounce it "Malah-chee", that's how I pronounced it the first time I came across it irl.

Inigo can be pronounced either as "In-ee-goh" (a la Inigo Montoya from The Princess Bride, Inigo's character inspiration), or as "In-ih-goh", such as the way it's pronounced in the UK (according to the internet, anyway). I personally think of it as the latter pronunciation since he based his name off of a character named Indigo (with the D removed), but both pronunciations I think are correct and ones he would respond to.

Dielle is pronounced "Dee-elle"! Though I think it'd be a funny coincidence if it was pronounced "Die-elle" like the word Dielectric.

Yohann is pronounced the way it's spelled! It's an alternate spelling of the name Johann which has the same pronunciation. I actually considered keeping the original spelling of Johann, but I was worried that without audio assistance, it would be hard for readers to know how to pronounce his name (though nowadays I have more faith in y'all uwu)

Keaton is pronounced "Kee-ton"! Another pretty easy one, but I figured I'd toss it in here just in case.

Which leaves the final uncommon name I can think of for this list, Eilwyn, our new Milotic buddy! Their name is pronounced "Elle-win".

Not too much of a rule but if you’re on anon, give yourself a nickname, it can even just be an emoji! Man, we haven't posted here for a while!

Might as well give an update, haha;;

CJ & I (Charli) are engaged!

If you're curious about the name changes, it's because we go by CJ & Charli now!

It's a long story, but basically we started playing Identity V & Nunya made his username "crunchyjello" & I started calling him "CJ" as a nickname!

As for me, it has to do with a bunch of personal stuff!

For a long time now, I've been trying to figure out who I am & trying names like Avery, Charli, etc.

I rarely go by Avery now, & I ofc prefer to avoid my deadname, when possible.

Luh-Loyd finished for him.Mei frowned as she glanced between the two of them. "Oh, wait, you didn't know?" she asked.The blonds exchanged a look that held a whole conversation before Luh-Loyd sighed and pushed himself to his feet. "To be honest… we don't know what we are," he admitted, fidgeting uncomfortably. "We just know we're not entirely human. There are just too many things about us that we've noticed.""Our grandfathers were basically a god, and you take classes with his dad," said Lil'Loyd, pointing at his counterpart. "Mine used to look about the same as him when he was evil. And both he and Uncle Wu are, like, suuuuuuper old. Normal people aren't still alive when they were born 'before time had a name'."Mei nodded. "Yeah, dragons can live pretty long," she said."You really think we're part dragon?" asked Luh-Loyd curiously.Mei squinted at both of them, studying them up and down before she shrugged. "Hmmm, hard to really tell. At the very least, you two are mostly human," she said, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "And if your Dads' four-armed looks are anything to go by, maybe something else too. Lord G looks a little too demony to be a coincidence, and something about it sets my teeth on edge. But there's definitely some dragon in you guys too. I can tell because the dragon traits I've seen in you are ones I have too."Lil'Loyd's eyes widened. "Like the growling!" he exclaimed. "I thought I heard you growl like we can when MK was talking about people being jerks to him.""Exactly," said Mei brightly. "That's what was the final clue for me to figure it out. The rest was just stuff I noticed that suddenly made sense. Your aura, the flashing eyes, the protective instincts, the desire to create, they're all traits of dragons." Her eyes then lit up. "Hey! Maybe we're related! Like waaaaaay back, but still!"

Ever have a show you just HAVE to write a fanfic for. Monkie Kid was that for me. It kicked me into high gear into finishing One Heck of a Wedding just so I could write More Fun than a Barrel of Monkies and include Monkie Kid in my Ninjago multiverse.

And once that happened, I'd opened myself up to writing more character interactions between the two casts, and there were some that I was really excited to get to.

When I first saw Monkie Kid and saw that Mei was a dragon, one of my first thoughts was, 'I want her to meet Lloyd'. Green dragon kids unite!

I always wanted them to bond over their dragon heritage. At this point in the series, neither Lloyd knows about the dragon-oni thing, but they no doubt must suspect there's something going on with their biology. Kay Hau and I both wrote some stuff about them confiding in each other about shared traits and trying to find out what they are.

Having Mei confirm at least half of what they were seemed like a fitting way to do it, as she'd recognize what they are, and be able to tell them. It was fun to write this scene of them coming to that realization and bonding over it.

La-luh-lloyd!

Lloyd is an interesting character to me because much like Cole, I wasn’t a huge fan of him growing up but now I’ve warmed up to him. I was always super fond of his plotlines though. And still to this day tbh my opinion on him as a character fluctuates, some days I look at him and think eh, he’s there, but other days I look at him and it’s some combo of “mood” and “oh my god someone hug him.” Working on this really put me in the latter mindset, especially regarding the first two seasons.

Also, I tossed in two references to the movie. It might be non-canon but I thought it’d be cute. One is super obvious, the other is a tongue in cheek reference to one joke that I’m pretty sure was in almost every trailer (it’s not Luh-lloyd though)

I’ll probably update this later since I wanna make another variant for That One Certain Spoiler that’s in That One Certain Set that we haven’t seen in the show yet since, aside from wanting to be relatively spoiler free (publicly, I won’t post spoilers until the content is 100% out, that is, in private I know all the spoilers lol), I wanna know wth is up in canon with That Certain Thing before I draw it

Watching Ninjago With My Parents

I’m going to be showing my parents Ninjago for the foreseeable future (i.e. until they get tired of it XD), so I’m going to mark my observations of them here until they’re done (and my observations of myself since I haven’t seen these episodes in years).

Pilot Episodes: Mom was amused by the use of the toothbrush in Kai’s first run-in with the other Ninja. She finds Jay to be the most entertaining of the four and likes Sensei Wu a good deal. She was curious about Lloyd’s whereabouts (she’s only seen the movie) and what his and Nya’s Elements were - she did remember that Lloyd was the Green Ninja and that Nya would eventually become one. Time will tell if she’ll get to when Nya becomes a Ninja. Meanwhile my dad fell asleep and when he woke up, all he had to say was “it’s not Naruto.” Well no dang Dad I didn’t claim it was XP

Episodes 1-2: Mom was surprised to discover that Luh-Lloyd turned out to be smol evil kid (and she forgot he was Garmadon’s son). I think the voice threw her off because she thought he was Nya for a hot minute XD Pretty sure she also disapproved of the way Cole, Jay, and Kai were treating Zane during “Home”, and the first food fight was dubbed “rude” (she’s a foodie, I can’t blame her for that XD they wasted the meal Zane made and she didn’t appreciate that). Meanwhile I forgot how much the Ninja were absolute teenage boys in the early seasons - headstrong, immature, and quite savage. And I was disappointed to discover that the Amazon Prime cut of “Home” didn’t include Zane being in the fridge. I’m also questioning why on earth my favorite Ninja was Jay on first impressions, he’s so different now XD In conclusion, so far the main thing I drew from this rewatch so far is that the Ninja really have come a long way since their early days. They’ve grown so much, so many things have aged in such a way that certain lines make me snicker and think “ohhhhh boy they have no idea”. Good news, my mom still seems to like the show and doesn’t regret letting us watch it as kids (so far XD)
