i hate that every criticism is met with "well in universe" because i don't care about the in universe justifications for it. i care about what lead a season about rage and redemption end with the themes being thrown out the window in favor of a cool battle. i want to interrogate how we got to the point where this was the only way it could play out in universe

I think Kipperlilly has trouble sleeping when her very specific night time routine is not done in its entirety. She starts getting ready for bed at like 8:30 and if she’s interrupted ONCE she’s not getting to sleep that night. She’s just like me for real.

I think that before Ankarna, Porter, and the Plot, Kipperlilly never really had a religion. I wrote her family as one that kinda doesn’t think about that sort of thing. I think she is drawn to sun deities though, anything that burns and is better for it

Lucy sits on couches and chairs weird. Part of it is her whole thing about making herself smaller, part of it is how cold she is all the time, but she’s always curled up into herself. She will put her shoes on your couch.

Lucy journals a lot, and her conception of herself is near completely intertwined with Ruvina. I think that a lot of the time she spends journaling, it’s talking about things that maybe don’t fit into what she thinks Ruvina wants from her. She pours her heart (or everything ‘imperfect’ about herself) into pages when she can’t tell her goddess about them

it is very real that the people most likely to abuse are the quickest to accuse others of such, and i think it's super important to represent undeniable child abusers who fully know how to play the part of the concerned parent. deflection is powerful and it works. especially during pride i'm thinking a lot about how the centered accusations that certain groups of people are hurting children hurt a lot of innocent people, especially especially especially the children themselves

I’m coming in hot with an obscure and very silly Dom idea but I can’t get the thought out of my head so here! I’ve been listening to the Goosebumps musical (which is absolutely addicting ??) and I was absolutely dying at the thought of a scene with Dom based off of the song Babbling Brooke. Maybe with a co-star!

i've never heard the goosebumps musical (tbh this message ALERTED me to the fact that one exists) and i just had to look up that song, but that's SO CUTE, just babbling and being a cutie and a sweetheart ugh love that

Kipperlilly - Kipperlilly is a stress baker (credit to this post by @lucyfrostblade!) and likes to make all types of pastries, cookies, cupcakes, things like that. I do also think though that Kipperlilly likes to eat fruits as a dessert, like strawberries, etc.

Ruben - Tends to prefer snack foods like chips over sweets, but likes candy like chocolate bars, gummies, etc.

Mary Ann - Pocky, of course, and she also likes different types of candy, so she and Ruben often used to share.

Ivy - Likes "fancy" desserts like soufflés and crêpes, but is also absolutely keeping an entire tub of mint ice cream to herself when watching reruns of Spyre's Top Talent.

Oisin - Dragonfruit Not that much of a sweet tooth, but he DOES like mints.

Buddy - HUGE sweet tooth. Sweet potato pie, banana pudding, cream puffs, the works. Ironically not that big a fan of corn in his desserts, despite his family's famous cornbread cobbler at the potluck every year.

Lucy - Loves sweets and used to be the "taste tester" for all of Kipperlilly's stress baking. I think she'd be a fan of warm chocolate chip cookies.

yeah these are pretty good. i feel like my music taste has been kinda wonky lately, in part because i keep listening to buddy dawn and/or max durden inspired music to try and get myself to write. but for the most part this is untainted by that (i feel like my spotify has been fighting tooth and nail to avoid admitting to itself that i listen to a lot of southern gospel music all of a sudden)

also this is not strictly spider fact but did you know that most arthropods have an open circulatory system which means that they don't have veins to deliver blood directly to organs and instead hemolymph flows freely through the body and just surrounds the organs and tissues. it's a really inefficient system and limits the size to which arthropods grow, and makes me even more curious as how spiders use hydraulics to move

I did! I did know this!

So what spiders do is they increase pressure in the rest of their bodies to move their hemolymph quickly out to the legs. Since their muscles’ natural inclination is to curl inwards, this contrast in movements (the hemolymph pushing and the muscle pulling) helps them to move their legs. It’s a level of manual control that a lot of other arthropods don’t have!

every year in Santa Fe, New Mexico, they burn the Zozorba.

the Zozorba, aka Old Man Gloom, is a ~50-foot tall working marionette with live screaming voice acting. it's the city's way of finding catharsis at the end of every summer. it's like the swedish goat but on purpose. i desperately wanna see it. in the days of its construction leading up to the blaze, folk can write down their griefs and submit them to be placed in the Zozorba. people have dropped in mortgage papers, ex's clothes, and the ashes of one of the late Zozorba builders
