Now that I started writing Hellfire, this gifset makes me think of Cordelia and Lucy...
Lucy's nature is the same as her father's (though, she wouldn't be referred to as the Antichrist until Michael retires or dies). Her powers are dark, destructive and hardly measurable. Even as a young adult, they may be difficult to control, especially in a rage, or some other emotional outburst.
I can easily imagine Cordelia cradling her in a sea of bodies.
"I don't know what happened... Mommy, I didn't mean to-..."
"Shhh, it's okay. It's okay."
She has always been hard on Lucy, knowing her violent tendencies must be curbed. The world might not survive otherwise... But, in the end, no matter how much blood she spills, nor what she renders to ash, Cordelia will always protect her daughter.
Question is, whether Lucy's wrath was deserved or not.

Sleeping with micheal langdon headcannons
Tumblr media
My guy doesn't sleep much so he'd mainly just watch you sleep
He likes sleeping on his back most of the time or just laying on his back
If you guys sleep in the same bed, your 100% going to sleep on him
He'll pull you over on top of him, so you sleep on your stomach and on him
He'd wrap his arms around you afraid you plan to wake up and leave him
You'll just wake up randomly throughout the night and look at him seeing if he's awake
And he is, if he sees your awake he'll just be like
"what are you doing awake dear?" Michael asked calmly. "I don't know" you groaned. Michael lifted your chin and kissed you softly. "Go back to sleep then" Michael said softly. You layer your head back down on his chest and tried to sleep.
He'd love kissing you whilst in bed, asleep? Smooches. Awake? Smooches. Sick? Smooches. Any time. Smooches.
He'd rub your back whilst you sleep
In my dr the Morningstars (luci and his kids) don't run hot, contrary to popular belief. They run cold, like they are cold to the touch.
So sleeping with this man is like sleeping with and ice pack.
He also only sleeps in boxers. He'd prefer you do the same and sleep in your underwear because he like as much skin on skin contact.
If your a woman, he'd want to massage your boobs, (wit consent ofc) but he'd think of them like stress revealers.
Also when he gets up he'd prefer to carry you. Like you just wrap your legs around his waist and your arms around his neck, he's got one hand on your ass holding you up and one hand on your back.
My dude is touch starved af so he wants you 24/7
If your a guy hes just rubbing your back smoothly
Micheal might seem all mean but when he's with you my dude is soft for you. He's a simp.
And his favorite thing to do is when it's a gloomy day out and yall are cuddling, he'll just lazily fuck you.
He's laying on his right side and you are on your left, your head in the crook of his neck and he gently thrusts his thick length in and out of you. Your hips on his, his thick thighs holding your legs open whilst he thrusts. He's holding you from your back with his right hand so your squished against him, his left hand is either rubbing your clit tenderly or holding your lower back against him.
He continues to thrust for as long as yall stay in bed that day. He's tenderly kissing you and making sure you stay with him.
On other days he needs to sleep on you, you are his safe place so when he needs sleep he only can sleep in your arms
You laying on your back whilst micheal snuggles his head to the crook of your neck gently kissing your neck, his arms around your waist and his legs tangled with yours. You play with his hair gently and rub circles on his back.
He likes your heart beat and your breathing patterns, he monitors them whilst he sleeps, and if it changes he immediately wakes up. Poor baby is so worried about you 24/7
Please send asks!

what's the best way to serve whale?
am hungee
Can’t attest—I have not eaten whale.
Muktuk is a traditional Inuit food. It’s skin and blubber usually from bowheads (but also beluga and narwhal) that’s diced small and often eaten raw. It can also be prepared in other ways like frying or pickling. Very high in Vitamin D & C.
Turning to my 19th c. American whalers, it being my schtick and all, they tended to not be particularly interested in eating whale. Nor were whales hunted for meat. But sometimes the odd recipe comes out here and there. John Martin, whaler on the Lucy Ann, 1840s talked about ‘roasting the top of a whale’s head’ that they were otherwise processing.
“The top of a right whale’s head is covered with barnacles & small crabs. When roasted they are good eating. They also take part of his lip and render it out in the hot oil. When eaten with pepper & vinegar it tastes very much like soused tripe.”
Mary Lawrence, whaling wife on the Addison, 1850s also mentioned eating whale up North:
“We have been eating bowhead meat for several days, made with pork into sausage cakes, also fried, and it is really good eating, far before salt pork in my estimation.”
J.E. Haviland, greenhand on the Baltic 1850s shared a similar recipe for porpoise, which is similar enough.
“We had it for Breakfast this morning. The way it is prepared at sea is to take + hash it up very fine seasoned with sage pepper + salt and then made in small balls + fried or baked in pork + I can say from experience it is proper good.”
William Tripp, boatsteerer on the John R. Manta, 1920s,
“The meat was cooked as steaks, while some was ground and made into 'whalemeat balls.' It was eaten by all hands and much relished as the first frest meat since leaving port."
John Ross Browne, writer on an unnamed whaler in the 1840s, talked about snacks whilst trying out. In addition to frying saltwater-soaked sea biscuits and celebratory donuts in the whale oil, sometimes whalers would eat the leftover ‘cracklings’, i.e. crispy bits of whale skin left over after the process, as well as:
“Sometimes, when on friendly terms with the steward, they make fritters of the brains of the whale mixed with flour, and cook them in the oil. These are considered a most sumptuous delicacy. Certain portions of the whale's flesh are also eaten with relish, though, to my thinking, not a very great luxury, being coarse and strong. Mixed with potatoes, however, like " porpoise balls," they answer very well for variety. A good appetite makes almost any kind of food palatable. I have eaten whale-flesh at sea with as much relish as I ever ate roast-beef ashore.”
Not everyone’s into it, though. When John Langdon and other crew members aboard the St. Peter, 1840s, came to air grievances about the captain expecting them to be content with eating spoiled beef, the captain,
“rowse[d] up a little telling us how he had lived on whale and blackfish meat for a time on the Nor’west; but this would not go down with us and we demanded state’s allowance. He saw we were in good earnest so after while concluded to give us good beef.”
And lastly, from Moby-Dick, Stubb’s preferred method of cooking whale steak which he berated the cook with:
“Hold the steak in one hand, and show a live coal to it with the other; that done, dish it; d’ye hear?”

Sometimes, war is the province of women. An alternate take on the battle for air dominance over the skies of Europe during World War Two, as told through the stories of an American all-female bomber crew and the people around them.
This is a collection of standalone works that all interlock to form one big patchwork quilt of stories. It will see new additions every so often, especially because a lot of it is written to prompts. The collection on AO3 is my best attempt at organizing it in chronological order.

Charlotte “Lottie” Rivers-Mayhew Fighter pilot turned bomber pilot Can fly anything, will try anything. Big mouth, little heart. Lives in the land of innuendo and crude jokes. Loud about her whole existence. Very smart, but downplays that like whoa. Julie “Jules” Langdon Bomber pilot Runs this gig and everyone else just needs to get with her program. Great at reading people the riot act. Comically unimpressed by everything that lands in her path. Nosewrinkles at any and all delays. Known for slipping people an extra bite to eat. Christina “Tiny” Heartfield Bomber co-pilot Needs five hours to get ready for any kind of social event. Silver spoon baby. Knows all the gossip and all the good songs. Gets a little bit stressed about flying in warzones. Loves a good ghost story. Eleanor “Nora” Graham Navigator The Mom Friend. Prone to giving hugs and peptalks. Bossy and quite rude when things don’t go her way. Cannot flirt her way out of anything. If you see her running, that’s just standard procedure. Valerie “Val” Hodges Radio operator Absolute poker-faced ballsy liar. Most innocent face in the whole crew. Smokes more than her job should allow. Will try to wiggle out of any lectures by offering the most inane excuses. There’s not a puzzle she can’t solve. Genevieve “Two” Hodgson Tail gunner Shows up late to everything except the war. Always chewing gum. Queen of half-hearted salutes and vague politeness. Keeps saying she’s too poor for this level of bullshit. Has a mean right hook. Madeleine “Push” Perrault Flight engineer Making lists calms her down. Can and will call you stupid in four different languages. Thinks planes are better than people. Voice like a foghorn with the attitude to match. Believes she can fix anything. Evelyn “One-Eye” Carter Ball turret gunner Happy-go-lucky baby of the group, rolling with life’s punches. Will talk your ear off. Could probably get away with murder. Best gunner in the crew. Can be painfully naïve. Dorothy “Dee” Llewellyn Waist gunner Born a pessimist. Genuinely thinks no man should ever sport a mustache. Has a limitless supply of stories about her family. Very protective. Would inspire a riot if anyone ever let her talk long enough without interruptions. Maxine “Max” Morrison Waist gunner Bold and brash and crackling with energy. Cracks more bad jokes than anyone alive. Has developed some rather complicated handshakes. Will interrupt any event or conversation. If you see her running, something’s probably chasing her. Stella “Frosty” Lombardi Bombardier Icy calm in any crisis. Can calculate any bomb drop. Complains about the food. Is a true girl’s girl and refuses to so much as speak to most men. Never wants to miss out on the fun.
Tumblr media
Lucille Dorrance-Jones, goes by Lucy Jones Nurse The singlemost stubborn person on the planet. Thinks some injuries are fascinating. Harbors a healthy distrust of bureaucracy and paperwork. Can probably drink you under the table. Encourages anyone to sing. Cressida Dorrance-Jones Interrogator Sharp as a tack. Does not forgive, does not forget. Secretly more big-hearted than people would give her credit for. Really wants to fly a plane. Has an ongoing one-sided vendetta with Meatball. Darlene Mayfair Mechanic Cheerful and spirited. Very gifted storyteller. Turns shy when complimented. Ride or die for people and sticks with them longer than they might deserve. Marches to the beat of her own drum. Georgina “George” Campbell Mechanic Has a soft spot for strays. Suffers no fools. Is here to win a war, not ogle cute men. Perpetually fighting a losing battle against the grease stains on her uniform. The best co-conspirator you could ask for. Imogene “Genie” Chapman Clubmobile girl Very outgoing people-person. Better at giving advice than at taking it. Designated hair-cutter. Loves movies and dancing. Knows just about anybody by name. Jack Ellis OSS Doesn’t miss a beat. No-nonsense natural leader. Very determined to do what he believes is the right thing. Talks about the war in terms of “the game”. Warm and caring once he lets his guard down.

was in a library today and I happened to catch sight of a dan brown book a few shelves away from me and all of the sudden at that exact moment like a lightning strike I realized that when queen lucy accidentally calls lanyon "langdon" in tgs chapter 7 it was probably a nod by the author to robert langdon of dan brown fame??? the da vinci code et cetera et cetera?? as an avid enjoyer of both I cannot believe it took me this long if so 💀

putting a read more as her info will include spoilers from the ballad of songbirds and snakes
MUSE INFO (to be added to carrd later)
Lucy Gray Baird is an eighteen year old girl with a fine love for music, she was picked purposefully during the tenth annual hunger games during the reaping as revenge by the mayors daughter. Lucy was not only a fan favourite, underdog and what the capitol described as 'the runt girl', Lucy Gray was the winner of the tenth hunger games and is known for being district twelves first victor. She'd won over the crowds with her songs and confident stage presence. She grew up a traveller girl and member of the Covey, a small group that moved around often, however during the time of reaping they were settled in district twelve.
BASIC INFO:
Full Name: Lucy Gray Baird Age: 18 Gender and Pronouns: Female / she / her Face Claim: Rachel Zegler (might change but for now) Occupation: singer Appearance: Long brown wavy hair and brown eyes Height: 5'2 Species: Human (verse dependable)
VERSES: ( more to be announced)
the ballad of songbirds and snakes (canon verse)
-follows along with the movie / book, Lucy is a tribute to the tenth annual hunger games, having to fight for her life in the arena.
the ballad of songbirds and snakes (main verse: post canon)
- Lucy Gray left Coriolanus at the cabin, something she had already pre-discussed with the covey. Upon learning of his kills (at the time, two) she knew that was not something or someone she wanted to be around. Despite caring for him Lucy Gray knew that she was not one of his people and needed to get away. - the verse is post canon, Lucy Gray is not longer a district twelve resident. Though her victory is known throughout panem and she is recognised where ever she goes. I am open to her and Coriolanus reuniting in later years.
The vampire diaries (witch verse: alternate universe)
- Lucy Gray inherent connection to nature really comes into play during this verse. She's known since she was small that she was different from her classmates when small things start to happen. By the time Lucy is 18 her powers are fully developed and she is among the mess of causing havoc around mystic falls.
The 100 (space girl saviour: alternate universe)
TBA
American horror story (Langdon's survivor: alternate universe)
TBA

“I wish you a Merry Christmass at Home” 2nd mate of the whaleship Arnolda Benjamin Boodry wrote in the margins for his entry on this day in 1852. He consoled himself with his lot with a refrain he wrote often over the years: “But it is not for life if it is for 4 years”. On Christmas eve, he shared where his subconscious was spending its time:
Tumblr media
“A pleasant dream about home and loved ones I wish I was there to night I think I should call on some of my friends if it was not to late But there is many a calm, squall, and gale to pass over my devoted head before that day comes.”
Holidays tended to bring out the sentimentality in many whalers who were so long and far from what they felt was home. Here are a handful:
Allen Newman, Edward, 1848
Tumblr media
“I wish all my friends A merey Christmus which is more than I anticipate for myself.”
Mary Lawrence, Addison, 1858
Tumblr media
“Christmas Day reminds us of home and friends. Minnie wished to hang up her stocking as usual, and as I had a tin of candies which her grandpa put up for her, “Santa Claus” managed to fill it very well. We sat down to a Christmas dinner of two roast turkeys, sweet and Irish potatoes, boiled onions, stewed pumpkin and cranberries, pickles, and a nice indian pudding made of milk and eggs. Had a goat killed for the benefit of those living in the forecastle, to which, I should think, they did ample justice as there are but two legs remaining.”
Joseph Dias, Ocmulgee, 1847
Tumblr media
“Comes with strong breezes from the westward and overcast weather, steering S.E. with all sail set. This day I am 25 years old 25 what and not married yet are like to be shocking. But this is not all I am disapointed in. For I have been keeping Marys cake to celebrate my birth day with and this morning I took it out for the pourpus of eating but when I come to cut it I found it was spoiled a sad disappointment. But what grieves me most is to think I let it spoil after Mary took so much panes with it Oh dear Mary I hope you will not spoil so soon for the want of some one to take care of you.”
John Winslow, Wave, 1852
Tumblr media
“Comes with a strong gale of wind from the E.ward this day My Wife is 26 years old if she is living and has got a poor sailor for a husband but it is not the worst for her for that May she live to enjoy many more years of Life and may they prove to be far happier than those that are past”
[Dec 26th]
Tumblr media
“O if I could make 250 dollars this voyage I would not go to sea any more for it is a dogs life and sometimes when I think of the comforts of my home with my Wife and children I almost resolve never to go to sea again let me get a home of my own and I will stay by it.”
J.T. Langdon, St Peter, 1849
Tumblr media
“The first part calm not a breath of air ruffled the face of the stormy deep. But with an ever rolling motion rocks our old ship like a vast cradle and the surface of the deep is like a vast mirror reflecting objects on its surface The first part ends Christmas and how many melancholy reflections come around unbidden and unasked for One year ago I was at home enjoying every pleasure that heart could wish friends to cheer and schoolmates to greet with a merry Christmas but now I am far away on the stormy ocean Many thousand miles intervene between this and my once happy Home”
John Martin, Lucy Ann, 1841
Tumblr media
“As fine a day as we have had since we left the Capes of Delaware. The Watch on deck was employed in breaking out from the hold, bread, water, vinegar & other stores. We had Turtle Sea Pie for dinner. Take it altogether we spent a merry Christmas & more to my satisfaction than many a one I spent on shore.”
Benjamin Bourne, Annawann II, 1859
Tumblr media
“[in the margins, alongside a stamp of a whale’s flukes] This Whale aught to have been saved - stove the boat Wish All a Mary Christmas Begins with a strong wind Bark steering S at 3 pm wind shifted to the Estrd a heavey rain squall took in sail to a close reef Main Topsail & staysails luffed to the wind heading SSE. Lat part at 9am saw a large sperm whale going slow into the SW so ends this day. [With an addendum on Jan 29th, 1899] I thought I was having a hard time 40 years ago but it was the best of my life.
Silliman Ives, Sunbeam, 1868
Tumblr media
“The wheels of time have made another revolution and Christmas “Merry Christmas” is with us once again, although I can’t complain of being particularly merry, on the contrary I am rather inclined to feel somewhat sad. O Fate! Inexorable fate! that compels me to spend this holiday miles away from home and kindred, far out upon the surging billows of the Atlantic. Little did I think while enjoying the pleasures and amenities of this festival season one year ago among relatives and friends, that to day would find me here. But it is not given us to know the future, and it is a wise providence that withholds  from us such knowledge, for had I known this was to be my destiny, any joy would have been sadly marred during that happy period. I wonder if the dear ones at home as they greet each other this morning, and exchange those endearing mementos common to this day, have a thought for their wild and reckless though still loving son, and brother, and cousin, who to day is separated from their hearths and homes by leagues and leagues of blue water. As the incense arises from off the family altar on this Christmas morning, is there a prayer breathed for the wanderer? I believe there is. Love conquers distance and in their hearts and their prayers he has his accustomed place.”
