The threads are tangled together in such complex patterns to form the letters I wonder how much time he'd need to trace where each comes from, untangle them without affecting others and all... but he simply has NO time! So Doomed Yaoi Honeymoon it is i guess😭

Wren curled up on the couch, wrapped in one of Luca's hoodies that still smelled like him, her fingers absently tracing the outline of her mug of tea. She smiled to herself, glancing out the window as the rain softly pattered against the glass, knowing he’d be home soon. She picked up her phone, typing out a quick message to him.

“Hey, tough guy 💙 I know you’ve had a long day, so I’m ordering pizza for when you get home. Oh, and I’m officially declaring tonight a no-plans, cuddle-only zone. SWAT can wait, but I can’t 😉 Hurry home!”

She hit send, setting her phone aside, already imagining how good it would feel to sink into his arms after another long shift.

luca had gotten home minutes ago, but hadn't been able to walk through the front door yet. his hands were still shaking from the day he'd had. the only blessing was that they weren't scraped up and busted, just a little red and sore. however, he did have a small cut above his eye, along his eyebrow, with a bruise ready to spread out against his ribs and he wasn't ready to hear or see dominique's reaction just yet.

more time ticked on and when he'd been standing on their front steps for nearly ten minutes, he only grasped the doorknob to open it, stepping inside and slowly close it behind him. as best as possible, he was quiet, but it wasn't enough because he still heard her voice calling out to him from the other room and it made him sigh. his hands were still shaking and he balled them up into fists over and over again while inhaling a deep breath to calm down a little more.

Lucas and Max healing together after the events of Season 4, him never leaving her hospital bedside once.

Both of them suffering from nightmares but being there to comfort each other, the two of them gradually getting closer and closer again until they can’t ignore their feelings anymore and Max allows herself to let him in.

Lucas being there to support Max as she continues to recover from her injuries, there to catch her whenever her legs give out at the skatepark or offering her a piggyback when her aching joints get too much to bear.

Max realising that Lucas isn’t like any other man in her life— he doesn’t let her down, doesn’t hurt her.. he just cares.

Lucas found himself rather in-tune with the residents of Briar Ridge. Though people came and went often for vacations, Lucas felt that he had always been able to spot someone that was from the area versus someone that was not. So, when River came to down almost a year ago, Lucas had noted her new-ness to Briar Ridge. However, he didn't like to bring a spotlight to people. It wasn't until he went to Marineland that he met River for the first time truly, finding out that she worked there as a marine biologist. He had been taking a friend's kid out for the day and they signed up to hear a marine biologist talk to them. Since then, Lucas has found himself getting to know her when he ran into her in public.

Small talk was often the go-to, but Lucas enjoyed new friendships so he always approached with a friendly smile. "River, hey," he walked up to her at the bar, "how are all the creatures of Marineland doing?"

The weather was still on the chilly side, but nothing too discouraging — especially not with an extra set of hands. It was belated but post Hurricane Hax the gutters had been notably less effective, pulled aside from their home and bent out of shape in certain spots. Emiliano decided to rip them out and replace them. As a welder and engineer, he'd always been a hands on kind of guy, but everything went quicker with Lucas' steady presence to help. Two heads were better than one, and the pair made easy work of it. "Man, I won't lie to you, i'm ready for summer again..." his laugh came loud and easy. "That breeze comes in off the water too often an' i've got shit to do." Not to mention, diving this time of year meant taking extra precautions. Emil was balanced on a ladder, holding a fixture straight as the offending ocean breeze tussled his hair. "Did you enjoy the holiday season at least?"

they were a couple of hours out from chicago and dominique couldn't sit still. she rubbed her hands against the seat and she gripped onto the edge of it. her husband's father and her father found a handful of the guys including jameson and they were flying home to confront them. she was sick to her stomach, honestly. she didn't know if she could do this, but she had to. she had to show him that she wasn't afraid of him...she wasn't his, she didn't belong to him just because his name was carved into her thigh.

luca's hand suddenly rested against hers and dominique looked over at him with tears in her eyes, "i don't know what to do..." she whispered and she grabbed her bag to find her anti-anxiety medication. she grabbed the bottle and popped two into her mouth, hoping they would help. "i've been putting off taking them, but i can't any longer. i'm ready to have a fucking heart attack, honestly." she took a deep breath and moved the arm so she could lean into her husband's side.
