A/N: Cause I'm in a soft, gooey mood. I'm thinkin of the Links being married.
~~ Imagining Wild smiling so softly down at a letter, looking so love-strucked yet yearning at the same time. Of course, one of the boys called out to him in a teasing way, wanting to know what got him all head in the clouds like their fellow skyloftian knight. He huffs softly and replies with a voice filled with longing, "My spouse wrote me a letter, basically wishing me safety and sweet dreams of them to soothe me."
~~ First normally kept to himself about his s/o, wishing to keep them safe during his time in prison for 4 years. Pushing you away from Demise's grasp with one last kiss, as he headed off to fight hard and long til his last dying breath. Only to reawaken in a coffin, tumbling out and wondering where he was.
His first thought after was wonder of if you were alive and kicking. He rubbed his left ring finger in a panic, sighing in relief when the metal met his skin. The impression of your bright, sweet smile soothed him, made his heart beat fast until the sound of a screech reached his ears.
~~ The look on the chain's face when a body slammed into Legend was hysterical yet made him shy under their wide questioning gazes. He wanted to squirm out of your hold, only to halt when those eyes, filled with tears of relief and love made him melt on the spot. He softly sighed and rubbed their head while exchanging gentle words between them.
The ring on your hand made them choke in surprise; so those rings on his hands are for distractions, huh?
~~ Hyrule kept his ring on a necklace under his tunic, away from sight due to conflict. His head was always threaten to be on a pike, didn't help when he carried all three pieces of the triforce on the back of his hand. He was constantly hunted, he worried they would come to find you if they were to ever find out he was married to you. Yet alas, he would be found by Legend with him sitting there, idly messing with the ring around his neck, a far off look on his face and a gentle smile. Of course, the veteran was going to be curious of whom caught the dear traveler's heart.
~~ Four watched you idle around the living room, gesturing a flick of your wrist to who could lay where without the worry of stepping on somebody. He stares with his chin in his hand, smiling softly as you jabbered on about something to one of the Links. The colors laughed when you bickered and bantered with that Link before silencing at the sweet smile you quickly flashed over to him alongside a wink.
He covered his face with his hand, flushing red at the laugh that echoed in the home.
~~ Once again, he had his head in the clouds with a dreamy smile on his lips. Sky clutched the letter close to his chest and heaved a tranquil breath, his ears flapped wildly, almost imaginary hearts fluttered and popped around his head. Some of those groan, while the other laughed and shook their head at the lovesick expression on the skyloftian's face.
He raised the letter above his face, pressing a gentle kiss against the ink on the bottom of the page then one to the ring gracing his finger.
"I'll be home as soon as I can, my love."
~~ He was so giddy to be home. As one could be, he was always the composed and conscientiousness captain, but when given the opportunity to reunite with his love. Warriors is practically floating down the path to his shared home that the group is struggling to keep up with his rampant pace. He can't help himself! He needs to smooch his spouse! It's a crime to him to be away for this long from them.
The look on their face when he entered the house with a flourish yell of their name, made his heart soar.
~~ Time chuckled when you fussed over Twilight, tucking him in before glaring at the male when he tried to protest. His descendant looked at him with a silent plead for help, only to slump when the old man shook his head and made an 'x' symbol with his arms. He knew that butting in would not protect him from your glare too.
He rather walk straight into a pit of lava than face your glare head-on. Though he melts at the passing thought of you tucking your future child in, sternly telling them its bedtime and that rest is important. He makes his way over, pressing himself against your back, lacing his hand with yours and placed a kiss against your forehead.
~~ He was already suckered from the day you first played together when you were both children. From the shy glances to the shared giggles, to the sleepovers and to the shared secrets. Twilight knew he had to have you as his spouse when you jumped into his arms and kissed him without a thought after he saved Hyrule.
Even as he stared up at the night sky during his watch, he could still remember the sight of you walking down the aisle with a shy yet giddy smile on your lips. He rubbed the ring back and forth as the memories took over his mind, making the time go by fast til he was tapped out by the next watch. He falls asleep easily when his head hit his pillow, with a faint smile on his lips.
~~ He felt smug when the chain jaws dropped at the sight of him running towards his spouse yet ignores them as their squeals and giggles graced his ears. Fierce swung them around softly in the air before slowly lowering them in his embrace, holding them by their waist, closing his eyes and pressing his forehead against theirs. He purrs at the hands that cupped his face, sweet yet butterfly like kisses gracing his skin that soothe the ache that grew in yearning for their touch.
He felt them move away the white strands away from his forehead, placing a kiss against the blue 'v' shaped mark there. He retaliates by placing one against the ring on their finger before opening his eyes to them. Feeling himself melting in their ever so loving and gentle gaze, "You still look radiant, my dear jewel."

Linked Universe / GN!Reader - Random Headcanons abt the Chain :)
Part 1 (ur here!) / Part 2 / Part 3
Sun: Gender Neutral! Reader (you/they/them), Guide Reader
Orbit: Headcanons-ish
Stars: First, Sky, Four, Legend
Comets & Meteors: Content: None Known & Triggers: None Known.
U have a lot of Nicknames: Guide, Hero's Guide, Prince, Princey, Star, (more to be added?).
â
First (Manga!Link):
Has "too good" of posture lol
It makes his back stiff and by the time he's in his bedroll he's confused about why it feels better, silly silly man
Just in general tenses his muscles too often, so whenever u offer to massage him, he nearly crumbles on the spot
(the others know exactly how amazing ur massages are, and are fully staring at him in jealousy lol)
Gets little rips and tears in his clothing all the time somehow??
Even tho he wont have a scratch acc on him after hours of battle???
mans could be flying around Skyloft with only clouds touching him and come back pouting telling you he ripped his scarf again :'(
Likes to be slightly in front of you most of the time, especially in new places/other Links' Hyrules
It just makes him feel better knowing he's both protecting you, and that you're watching his back
(Most Links feel at their best/most confident when your voice can be heard just over their shoulder, not that they don't love seeing ur face now too)
Sky (Skyward Sword Link):
Is slowly making everyone he knows a collection of wooden figurines
He usually carves when he's bored or stressed
so needless to say this mission of the Shadow (slow going, stressful at times like Twi getting hurt)
Has made him give u an army of little wooden figures (everyone else gets a small collection bc ur the first he gives one to)
Did i say give? Excuse me, i meant:
sneaks them as a little surprise into your belongings or clothing or other personal effects
This started bc after a week or two of him giving you wooden things you tried to reroute him to other ppl,
so Sky just made it his mission to see how many he can sneak instead onto you on any given day lmao
(Also he may or may not have daydreamed abt being able to carve u things and actually physically give them to you on his adventure before, so he's taking advantage of being able to now)
Has luscious hair at all times, little to no effort, Wars is so pissed abt it lol
Mf responded when asked what products he used (by poor Wars too) with, "wym?? With water??? And soap????"
Never ties his boot laces
You will all be gearing up for battle and go to stalk and stealth kill monsters and right before u get up on them u always have to look over at Sky's shoes and whisper at him to tie them
Is the most likely to plant face first into the ground or trip and fall on his ass from shoes untying
He just didnt need to with being in the clouds on his Loftwing all the time back on Skyloft and so he never rlly adapted to that even on the surface lol
He's also just miserable at doing a decent knot so you've taken to teaching him repeatedly how to tie them-
why didnt the knight academy help with this at all actually??
(Wind makes fun of him be hes a sailor and knows like 10+ knots)
Four (Four Swords/Minish Cap Link):
Loses his tools constantly
Well not really "lose" so much as "slightly misplace"
It drives him crazy, the Minish used to help him with it back in his Hyrule so he got out of the habit of putting things back where they belong
You've gotten to the point where you'll glance over wherever he's working so the next time he comes up to u complaining abt a lost hammer or smth u immediately just "should be over by the fire"
And ur right, 99.9% of the time its so funny
Bc Four's all like "wtf ive moved around so much since then i took all the other tools with me- MF. U WERE RIGHT."
Is rlly good at like color matching, comes in handy for new outfits
Also has aches and pains like in his hands and arms mostly
Bc of all the forge work, and absolutely treasures any massages u offer him
Likes to wear matching jewelry with you! Like earrings or piercings or necklaces etc
Also has good taste in jewelry and what looks good on everyone + you
Legend (Link to the Past, Link's Awakening etc):
Unfortunately the type of person to just shove things in his bag willy nilly
Its the horder tendencies, he just has a lot of stuffs so he gave up trying to organize it
Actually really good at styling hair, Legend would absolutely lie abt it if u asked but he can spend as much time on his hair as Warrior
Likes to experiment with new clothes, like skirts or bright colors, esp if they match some of his clothes already
U ran by some makeup one time in another Hyrule and he knew how to use it rlly well??
Lies abt random skills he has, or like thinks skills he already has can translate well,
like he's rode a horse before wym he can't drive Wild's motorcycle??
Or fly a Loftwing???
Well now its a challenge
Tbh most competitive over stupid things randomly out of all the Links besides Wild, Wind, Wars, and occasionally Hyrule + Sky + Time
Got challenged to try and go shield surfing with u once and thought that horse-riding skill would transfer and it did in fact Not.
Actually kinda scared the other Links watching u two spin out and crash ngl, what with doing an accidental backflip? Midair??
but u both were okay somehow???
Also weirdly lucky, u stg he's got some sort of ring or blessing for that
â
IT ACCIDENTALLY POSTED I FUCKING HATE TUMBLR ITS DONE THIS TO ME MULTIPLE TIMES NOW đđ
All the Links WOULD HAVE been here if it werent for fucking tumblr
Ill post more parts soon if anyone is interested
Peace out,
đ

The First to be Forsaken
been in the works for a while!! This was actually a request that got deleted.
So to the anon who requested a reader who was cursed by Hylia like Eda in the owl house, this is for you!
tw: chronic illness, death
Û”âĄÛ”
The ache in your hands never lessened and the maring cracks in your skin never healed. It made for a rather ugly sight, all considered. The creeping vine-like scars showing in rather gorey details the tainted flesh.
No medical salve nor healing spell could rid you of the malice that poisoned your blood. And according to the words of the fairies themselves, itâs latched to your very soul. It festers, feeding off of your energy until youâll be left as a husk. A puppet with no one to pull its strings.
Itâs not pleasant knowing youâre going to die, but itâs less so knowing that no matter how often you pray to the goddess it will not be fixed. The divine never needed to give reason for why they shunned that which gives them power. Still, the chain did what they could, and for that you had many thanks.
Wild always had hearty food to replace the energy stolen from you, Legend let you wear whatever charmed jewellery you wanted, Time would never let you take night shifts, Warriors would carry you on the days you were too fragile to walk, Twilight doubled as a bed and his pelt as a blanket, Four made braces for your brittle joints, Hyrule was always testing different mixes in hopes that one might lessen your pain, Sky would hold your hand and talk to you on the days you could walk to make sure that you had something to distract from the crying of your nerves, even Wind spared some of his grandmotherâs soup in hopes that of it didnât rid of pain, it might ease your distress. Your Heroes were funny like that, sacrificing whatever they had for anyone that needed it, no matter how precious their time or belongings are. Certainly not a coincidence they act this way. Theyâve seen whatâs become of you under the neglect of the gods. And youâve seen the familiar ache in their eyes, the recognition of themselves within you.
The newest hero, First âwell perhaps then heâs the oldestâ was in many ways similar. He too would offer you stories and ballads from his time, forgotten by the time the next era rolled in. His words had a majesty that had the whole camp turn an ear to follow whatever tale he recalled. And by the time it came for you to lay your head and rest, your woes would be far off from the front of your mind.
Heâd sweep you off your feet both in the figurative matter and the literal. With only the gentlest graze of your skin and only the sweetest words that could be uttered did he regard you. He did not hold you to a sense of pity, as was common among many who knew of you, but a genuine care. A care for you beyond measure that heâd shown on many occasions that he would stop at nothing to ensure that if you could not be comfortable, you could be content.
And currently you were, despite it being a bad day.
The champion watched over the cooking pot carefully and the traveller flicked through one of his journals, looking for a combination of herbs that might be of help to you. The two passed questions back and forth in an effort to find an overlap of medicinals they havenât already tried.
You had Twiâs pelt, Skyâs sailcloth and Firstâs scarf to try and dull your cold flashes. You leaned back against the First hero as his arms warped around you and his face buried into your shoulder. You shiver as the next cold wave hits, wincing. The moment sits in silence before his arms around your abdomen gently pull you closer.
âI am sorry for what she did to you, My beloved.â His voice was deep and poetic as usual, the unwavering strength he displayed to the world melted to softness at your touch. Through the staticky emptiness that settled in your brain, the question stood, alone and without any real context nor answer.
âWhat do you mean?â Your brows furrow and you look over at where he rests his head on your shoulder. He draws a heavy breath, mumbling something into your layers of clothing.
âHylia- all of this because of her vanity. I am sorry you fell victim.â There is a pain in his voice, a guilt heâs held for long. Shackles upon his wrists that heâs not willing to let himself be freed from. You suppose it is him where their united care for the world came from, no matter how unrequited. Heâd bleed himself dry for the world if it meant that itâd be better.
âI donât mind being here with you allâ You hear the distant rowdy laughter of Wind and Twi, and you find it in yourself to bask in this one moment, âItâs certainly worth it. To me, at least.â He grumbles happily, kissing the nearest place of unscathed skin he can find, right below your jaw.
âI am glad, Dearest. But that-â His voice wavers as another chill wracks your body. You can only find a wince as you try to block away the ever advancing chill.
âThat is not what I meant. I- Itâs because of her that you cannot find rest. It is she who whittled down your bones and set alight your nervesâ You find nothing to say as you stare at him, urging for more. âShe thought it was wrong for me to love you, to long for your care and yearn to hold your heart. So, she tainted y-â You wish to hear his words. A muse longing to read the poets works, and yet-
The words grow fuzzy as the gloom within you swells, gnawing painfully at your bones. It seems that you had forgotten exactly how brittle you were. It was always hubris that killed heroes, wasnât it? But that didnât make sense. You were no hero. How could it be hubris if you never meant to taunt the gods. How could that be- you werenât dying, are you?
They said youâd be ok.
Youâll be ok right?
Everything will be ok?
The pressure in your head doesnât stop growing and your stomach hurls.
The sun is so bright.
It hurts.
Sheâs taking you again, isnât she?

This had to stop happening.
Losing the Chain was becoming some sort of betting case now. When would it happen next? 10 rupees within the hour, 50 rupees within the next day- hell, if one of the boys had come up to you with such a bet you would have dropped your own gems in with an educated guess. It would be fun in that moment but definitely not in practice, losing your friends and with it your main source of protection.
A random Hyrule, barron of life with only the decaying ruins of what there once was. No one liked such a place, it only brought horrid feelings. The surroundings were almost grey, void of any colour, of any life- something that only made a shiver crawl up your spine. It almost mimicked Wildâs Hyrule in a way, but the Championâs home still held strongholds, society was disproportionate but the landscape still thrived. Flowers, animals, the fae and so much more; this was merely a wasteland. Quiet. Dead. Gone.
You couldnât even hear the beating of an insect's wings.
It was the rain that tore you away from the rest. A decomposing, wooden bridge that stood crooked over a wailing stream, the currents crashing against its mossy beams and the rocky outside that made the river banks. It was surely intimidating, it took quite a bit of pull from Twilight to have Epona even consider trotting over the structure and that did not make you feel the slightest bit better. Animals had intuition and to go against such a thing would lead to certain turmoil.
But it was your only option.
That didnât make it the right one.
Thunder roared. Lightning struck. You held tightly onto Hyruleâs hand in a desperate attempt to stay calm.
It was almost like a movie scene.
A strike from the heavens laid waste upon a tree just by the bridge, the old oak quickly bursting into a blazing red that groaned as it burned. Forever hungry, the fire ate at the stump of the old bark before the next moment you knew, the timber came hurtling towards the bridge. It was instantaneous, the men around you letting out a few yells of surprise or shock then doing their best to avoid the incoming disaster- but it had been too late.
It splits the middle on the bridge and took a few of you with it.
You could just catch a glimpse, watching Sky stumble back before veering too far to the right. Wild had tried to catch him, he really did try but both men went tumbling into the currents below grasping desperately at each other for leverage. Legend had also fallen prey to the accident, with a curse of the goddesses he collapsed through rotten wood with his voice fading out as he submerged into the depths, Twilightâs hand still held out to grab him when Epona yanked roughly at his fur hood to bring him back.
Hyruleâs face looked horrified when your cloak had been snagged by a branch, tightening his hold, he yelled your name with panic shining in his eyes. Hyruleâs swimming wasnât the best, you knew that. The incident with chuchu had just been pure instinct, adrenaline running through his veins with his only thought about saving you.
It was pouring, the rapids were deadly and you were not about to drag him to his certain doom.
Even if it meant you were about to drown.
Hyrule would not let go- he would never. So in a last ditch effort you raised your leg and kicked him back to the safety of a stable surface.
He screamed your name, frantic and scared as you were dragged down towards the murky depths, the boys rushed with calls to the others also in a panic while trying not to fall in themselves.
You inhaled as much air as possible before your head finally met the water, flailing your arms to fight the currents. It was practically impossible, your body spinning wildly with the flow as you fought to break the surface. You bobbed: in and out, in and out, in and out- the noise around you loud each time you were able to catch your breath.
A random boulder was what took you out, your temple smashing against it harshly and staining the water red as your skin broke from the tension-Â
And just as quick as the lightning had struck, your vision was lost, your body fell limp and you succumbed to the darkness of the stream.
You had no idea how you had survived. Maybe Hylia was looking down at you and offered her own blessing- waking up on a sandy bank with water swimming in your lungs, you hacking frantically to rid yourself of the nauseous feeling until finally you could properly breathe again. Face against the sand, panting with the burning of your lungs- it took awhile to finally start to move, still with the aching of your bones, the churning of your stomach and the trickle of blood that still ran down your forehead.
It was still raining. Still storming. Every flash of lightning, every boom of thunder made you flinch- overly sensitive to your surroundings as you glanced around for possible shelter.
The luckiest part was that you had found a village; the unfortunate part was that you had found a dead village.
Skeletal remains of Hylians scattered the streets, broken and forgotten as you wandered around meekly trying to not linger on the dead. A battleground, battered and beaten from what you werenât sure, but it was clear it had been brutal- damage at every corner, the houses almost torn down or simply gone, only the slightest bit of foundation an indication of what had stood there before. The scraps of monster horns and occasional skull branded weapon was your biggest hint to what had come- but a hoard big enough for a village? No, that couldnât be right. Monsters couldnât render a whole village like this defenceless, not in the sizes that they usually came in, this- this-
It had to have been an army that had marched through this town.
And thatâs what scared you the most.
âWhat the fuckâŠâ Your face curdled in horror upon catching the sight of a primal spear stabbed right through the mouth of a skeleton, the wood splintered snapped at the gaping crack at the back of the skull- it was a vile visual. âOh fucking god.â
Quickly you paced away. Not wanting to stay stuck on such a sight, a gruesome idea of what sort of torture the poor soul had felt in their dying moments. It made sense that only a monster could be so brutal, but the sheer reality that an army of monsters had come storming in with a straight intent to kill probably scared you more than the thought of monsters being around you now.
What could cause such an overwhelming hoard?
Turning another corner you spotted what you were looking for- a stable home. The rocks that made up itâs foundation had certainly been scathed but it still stood proud compared to the others all the different states of ruin. A chimney was available, hopefully a bed would be accompanying it and you hoped that within the next day the boys would be able to find you, or you them.
Glancing around you quickly jogged over, the pounding of rain hiding the slamming of your boots in the mud as you made your way over. Quietly and warily you tugged at the door, finding only relief when it moved without much resistance and slid into the darkness of the house without another word.
It was dark, it was cold but you thanked the stars, It somehow wasnât damp. There was certainly dust over every surface, a quick stroke of the tables and the chairs showed as much, but you werenât about to complain when your body felt like a heavy weight ready to collapse any second. A meteor rod was your only source of light as you did a quick once over of the place, checking cupboards, under the bed and in the wardrobe ready to swim your rod like a bat if any monster dare jump you in that moment.
There was nothing, and with nothing came the overwhelming feeling of sleep.
You made sure to secure yourself of course- the door locked with a chair pushed under the handle. The same done to the smallest bedroom in the house with the curtains pulled shut along with the windows locked too- you tripled checked everything before you even attempted to settle down.Â
No fire for no attention, you simply curled under the (thankfully) thick blanket and willed your own body heat to keep you warm in this desperate time. The slight dampness to your clothes did not help (the meteor rodâs heat could only do so much without causing a possible burn to you or fire to the surroundings) but you could only deal with it.
You relaxed into the comfort of a mattress, your eyes growing droopier by the second before once again you were met with the darkness of unconsciousness.
~~~~~~~~~~
You were awoken toâŠnothing, or at least what you thought was nothing. Warm and comfy, exhaustion stayed clung to you like thistles to wool, blinking in confusion with a small tired sniffle as you listened carefully to your surroundings. The storm prevailed, just like it had been for the past 2 days, so it was a little harder to focus.
Maybe you were just nervous, the jitters affecting your sleep? Maybe you were awoken by another clash of thunder? Or just maybe-
The floorboards creaked outside the room.
âŠ.maybe someone was in this house with you.
Rationality deduced that it was merely a round sound within the house. It was old, it was withered and thatâs what old withered houses did. They creaked, they made noise, sometimes the walls would groan as it lost more strength to the elements. That didnât mean that there was someone outside your room.
The doorknob jiggled for the slightest moment.
But that certainly did.
Wide awake, you sat up quickly then cringed at the rustling of the sheets. It would be hard to hear such a sound through the walls, but this was a mediaeval house- if you could hear the floorboards outside, whoever was out there could hear the sound of your movement.
Panic clawed at your throat along with panicked tears clouding your eyes. This was bad- really bad- cornered in a small room without almost no way out. The window would only alert them, and they would have time to run outside the house to catch you squeezing through. Sure, you had the chair under the door but that could only do so much to stop someone- especially if that someone had claws.
You had to fight. It was the only option, your hand diving for your meteor rod just beside you which subtly roared to life at the touch of your fingers. You werenât good at fighting, you still had so much to learn, but you were not about to die at the hands of some beast. No, you refused- you had made it this far, this wasnât a place to die!
Leaving your items, you tiptoed gently towards the door and stood beside the wall next to it. From this angle you would be hidden by the frame, waiting for your perp to come into view before blasting them to high heaven with the magic that buzzed in the rod. It was dangerous but it was your only option. Dirty was all you could manage, you didn't have the skills to use your dagger, the nuclear way was your only way.
The sound of the lock clicked in your ears and you wondered what it could have possibly been. A lizafols could have used its claws. You knew this from some stories that the boys had shared: those lizards were the intelligent monsters- dangerously intelligent. You were reminded on that one scene in Jurassic Park with the raptors and their terrifying clicking talons, their hissing and clicks echoing through your mind.
Maybe it was from tools, a person standing on the other side. Your team hadnât come across anyone from your few days in this place- but then again you hadnât come across anything. If a human lived in this wasteland, what kind of person would they be? Savage from the isolation or desperate for more than just the trees.
The doorknob turned slowly, akin to that of the movies, horror radiating from the mechanical clicking on the releasing lock as it was finally open to the awaiting intruder.
They pushed the door; it got caught by the chair.
You hoped that maybe you would be safe from that. They would take it as a sign to leave. Take it as a sign that there was no entering that room- but the more force exerted and the furniture finally fell to the floor with a âbangâ, your eyes widening at the pause before it continued, the wood scraping against the floor.
Footstep. Creak. Footstep. Creak. Footstep. Creak.
They were tall, not overly but just a few inches taller than yourself. Their cloak pulled over their head to hide both their face and their hair with an intimidating sword strapped to their back.
Praying to Hylia, you wished your boys to save you from this nightmare before swallowing your fear and presenting your meteor rod towards your intruder.
âAre you afraid?â You inhaled, tears once again clouding your vision as fear settled over your bones- you did not move your weapon. âYou neednât be- I only came here to check for monsters, I promise that I had no intention of harming you.â
A smooth voice, deep but also soft with his words.
You didnât respond.
Slowly, the man turned. Taking precaution not to push on your buttons more than he already had- you were terrified, you were armed and with one wrong move he could have been running from this room in flames if you really wanted him to.
His face was obscured by both a hood and the darkness, but you could see the fire reflect off his eyes.
They looked light- a possible blue combating the red of your rod.
âIâm sorry for causing you alarm. I wanted to take refuge from the rain but this was the only standing home left.â His hands stayed down, in your sight by his hips. âI wanted to check for any beasts, I was unaware of your presence and for that, I apologise.â
His hand gently came to rest on his chest, over his heart as he lightly bowed his head.
You didnât get any bad vibes from him.
âIt has been many years since I have seen another human.â Your eyebrows pinched at that, watching him carefully as he stood straight once again with his eyes focused on your figure. âI thought I was the only one left, after the Great War- it is sad to know that the goddess could not evacuate everyone on time.â
âŠ.What was he talking about?
He looked surprised, âWhat do you mean? You do not know?â
Your eyes widened, â....did I say that out loud?â
The confusion in your tone shocked him before a small amused huff left him. âIt seems so.â
You shrunk under his intense gaze- âIâmâŠIâm not from around here.â
Why did you say that? Why did you feelâŠcomfortable saying that? It was almost as if the tension had vanished in the blink of an eye. You didnât feel uncomfortable, you didnât feel scared, you felt- you felt safe. Like you were with just another of the boys, like you werenât with a stranger in some random house, you were okay.
What was this?
âOh? And where exactly are you from?â It wasnât accusatory, more curious than anything. âI thought the Demiseâs Conquest had reached the entire world.â
Your heart stopped.
âDidâŠdid you just say Demise?â
The man paused- he looked even more confused and curious. âYes, the Demon King, he brought calamity to the surface- it seems you do not know much of history.â
âŠ.you had fallen into the period after Demise? DEMISE!? This wasnât just scary this was terrifying, knowing you had just scarcely missed the war with the greatest villain known to history and the creator of the damned reincarnation cycle that haunted Sky and the many boys for centuries. This wasnât possible, right? For Dink to open a portal this far back?
But then again, if he could hop into another world, anything was possible, right?
âIâm aware of Demise Iâm justâŠsurprised.â
If you had just missed Demise, you had just missed Hylia and if you had just missed Hylia, you had just missedâŠ.
âSurprised?â He cocked a bro, âWhat is there to be surprised about?â
You bit your lip.
âI just am.â
âWhat an odd thing to be.â
You huffed, â...Demise isnât still here is he?â
The man narrowed his eyes, âOf course not, he was sealed away many years ago.â
So this was after himâŠ
âAh okay- wait.â You narrowed your eyes in return, âThat means Hylia raised the land- what are you still doing down here?â
Your could see his shoulders tense up, the light in his eyes dimming just the slightest as memories rushed through his head before he slumped. His voice was almost monotone as he spoke.
âMy duty,â
âDuty? But, no oneâs here.â You paused, âWhat duty do you have if no oneâs here to keep track?â
âThe goddess does not need to be here to know that I keep my word.â
You looked at him. You really looked at him. Duty? The Goddess? What could Hylia have possibly expected of a lone man with a lone sword? There was nothing left to do down here, other than kill monsters, but for what reason? Everyone was gone, there was no one left to protect other than the dirt under your feet-
âŠ
You zoned in on his eyes. A beautiful crystal blue, they shined like stones in the light of your meteor rod. The reflected both pain and passion, fury and honour- this man was a soldier but he was also more than that, you could see it in the light of his gaze. Such a beautiful and pure spark was only reserved for the most courageous of men.
You knew that because you had stared into those eyes before, different shades, different colour but that same burning spark.
â,,,whatâs your name?â You asked after a second, hesitant, afraid of his answer. You didnât want it to be true. You didnât want to think Hylia would go this far.
But with the pull of his hood, revealing the light blonde hair to you. Showing the crimson red scarf that hung around his shoulders, you knew your assumptions were correct.
âI am Link, knight of the land of Hylia.â He stood taller, âAnd who are you?â
The First Link.
I've been on a little bit of a first kick recently - so here's a first meeting of reader and him based on this piece of the dolls au by @ovegakart (this amazing comic piece in particular) and on the topic of tagging people I've got some new friends on discord who have a love of first so consider this a gift <3 @fanfic-fairy-fountain @dreaming-of-lu @angry-trashcan @neverchecking <333 enjoy!
[masterlist]
âHello..? Time⊠Sky⊠Link? Is anyone there?â
As if being forced into Hyrule wasnât bad enough when I was with the chain, now that cursed shadow decides to push it even further by separating me from them? Why not just kill me outright⊠Is it to try to give the heroes hope? Wouldnât it be worse for them for it to kill me outright than string them along with false hope?
âIS ANYONE HERE? HELLO??â
Where even am I? It looks like⊠Oh. Alone in catacombs, yeah if thereâs anywhere to be killed by a malicious shadowy entity it would be in catacombs. Are there going to be redeads here?  If the rest of the monsters are anything to go off of itâs going to be much worse dealing with them now. They canât handle sunlight though, can they?Â
Then that means the pile of rubble in the centre here should be the safest place for me to think through the best way to handle all of this. If the shadow really wants to get to me then of course that wonât stop it but I have to try something right? Is sitting on top of what looks like a grave a little disrespectful? Yes. Do I have many options at the minute? No.
â-Wait-!â
WHY IS THE GRAVE SLIDING OPEN - WHAT WAS THAT!? WHY DOES IT SOUND LIKE SOMEONE IS YELLING??Â
âWhat⊠happened? Where is this place?â
I think without a doubt the sound Iâve just made is the most blood-curdling scream Iâve ever let out and - WHY IS HE COVERING MY MOUTH!?
âIâm sorry I know youâre confus- ACK.â
Was biting him the right option? Probably not! But itâs the only thing I could think of to do seeing as well, I'm not exactly calm at this moment in time. Despite the fact that this man has known me for, what, the span of less than a minute, he seems to have at the very least noticed my panic. Backing off like you would with a scared animal - do I really look that petrified? Itâs taking everything in me now to not give into my racing heart.Â
âIâm sorry, I mustâve overstepped your boundaries. But please can you not be so loud?â
â....â
â... yeah. Yeah I can be a bit quieterâ
âSo you uhhh-â
Where do I even start - this man just - He just crawled out of a grave. What do you even respond to that with???Â
â...You come round here often?â
[name]. [name] what the heck was that. That's how you flirt with someone at a bar not speak to a living corpse.
âNo, I donât really?â
âYeah, I figured. I -â
âAre you alright?â
âLook Iâm just a bit overwhelmed, I was separated from my group and dropped here then you- You crawled out of a grave and now Iâm just?? Iâm just stressed and this is only things that have happened today. Now I know that youâre probably more stressed for obvious reasons, but Iâm just - Iâm sorry for screaming.â
He took a step closer to me at that, not trying to be intimidating, but more cautious. Asking for permission to touch me with an invitingly open outstretched arm, one that seemed to promise some sort of salvation from all the stress Iâve been feeling. One that I was embarrassingly quick to accept. His touch - His hold, is so warm for someone who should really be so cold, thereâs definite comfort in feeling his heart beating as well something that proves heâs alive. It didnât last for long though, as he pulled himself away, reluctantly if I were being bold in how I was to describe it. His fingers lingered, resting on my arm in such a teasingly wanting way. Heâs definitely a link thats for sure, that helps me to be more comfortable around him than I would have been with anyone else. He looks like heâs about to start crying.
I - oh god Iâm the first person heâs seen since he came back to life.Â
âAre you alright link?â
Was that the wrong thing to say? He hasnât introduced himself to me, I shouldnât have said that. It seems like now itâs his turn to look confused - more so than he already was.Â
âyou how do you know my name?â
âI just guessed, the group I was with before they - well they all looked similar and went by the same name âlinkâ so I just assumed it was the same with you. I hope that doesnât bother you.â
âNo it doesnât.â Why is he reaching for my face? Heâs got such a soft look on his face, do I remind him of someone? Heâs been dead so it could be possible I guess, but it feels like thereâs more to how he said it than just something that simple.Â
âOh my dearest love...â
His hands are so soft⊠itâs hard not to just lean into his touch and stay there, but there are more important things to be dealing with right now. As much as Iâd prefer to not have these questions answered.Â
âWhat do you mean by that link? I donât - I donât think Iâve met you before.â
Heâs so warm, I hate the fact that heâs most likely going to stop holding me when he realises Iâm not the person heâs really ever going to want in a relationship.Â
âYou havenât but, I can already tell that youâll be my beloved soon enough.â
âIâm sorry? Weâve only just met how can you tell s- ACKâ
This has to just be a link thing. What is it that makes them fall so quickly? But to hold someone so tightly when you've only just met them - when youâve only just come back from death? That doesnât seem like a healthy thing for him, not in the slightest.Â
Is my shoulder wet?
Why would it be wet - he was tearing up earlier and - no there it is heâs sniffling as if heâs trying his hardest not to cry. Even if heâs mildly delusional how cruel would you have to be to not help someone go through something as tough as this clearly is. Itâs not hard to gently rub his back as he cries onto me, itâs not hard to hum to him as he clutches me like a lifeline, itâs not hard to be here for him when I have to do so little for him.Â
âLink? Would you like to talk about it? I donât know you but - but Iâll be here to listen to you.â
âThank you. Itâs simply that I - I donât know why or how I got here, Itâs simply that I woke up in there after everything then I saw you -â
â[name]â
â[name] and well you know what has happened since. I have to thank you for being here though, thereâs something about you, some kind of energy that just feels like a part of myself that I lost. You feel like home to me [name]â
With that last sentence, he burrows his head even further into my neck seeking what I can only guess is comfort. Heâs probably just desperate for another person's touch right now, rather than him having fallen in love with me from the briefest interaction that didnât even go that well. Â Thereâs no harm in waiting here with him for a moment though. What could go wrong in this amount of time?
Day 11: Sensory Deprivation- First
It's super short but I don't have a reason for that so sucks for you guys /lh
Smut so Minors Do Not Interact. If I find out a minor has interacted with my blog, I will block you.. Thank you!
Smut CW: Sensory deprivation, my poor characterization of First :(
This is Day eleven of My Kinktober so be sure to come back and check out the other days! Friendly Reminder that all of my smut is tagged 'Cindersins' including this, but this will also be tagged as 'Cinder's happy halloween' along with the run of the mill smut tags.
Kinktober Masterlist <<< Day 10>>>Day 12
The feeling of the cloth against his eyelids wasâŠnew. Unique in a way he hadnât experienced before in a manner that didnât involve imminent harm to himself or his person. It had his sense on high alert as every little sound nicked his now improved hearing. The very scarf he had once held dear now the cause of his limited eyesight.Â
Everything was dark, but it wasnât like he couldnât see. He just couldnât do it with his eyes. He could see the way your fingertips dragged along his skin, the tone of your skin clashing against his own fair one as the delicate pads ran over every goosebump. He could see the way you leaned in close, breath fanning against the crimson fabric wrapped around his head.Â
He didnât need his eyes to see because his sense had been amplified tenfold.
It felt like his nerves had been lit on fire. Like cotton had been pulled from his ears and blinders had finally fallen, freeing him from a world so dulled he had no idea there was such vibrancy to be had.Â
It was almost overstimulating with how much it all was. More so when he felt your delicate fingers wrap around the shaft of his cock. It was more constricting than he thought plausible and he could only wonder for a fleeting second what it would feel like to be enveloped by everything that was purely you. You didnât let him dwell on it however, thumb crushing over the weeping head of his cock, spreading the leaking precum down his shaft before letting go completely. It cooled quickly and he felt his skin riddle itself in goosebumps at the feeling of it.Â
It was addicting.Â
First let out a shaky breath through his teeth before straightening his spine. He was a knight, he had to act like it.Â
Your chuckle made warm breath brush against his ear and in an act he previously thought forbidden, he whimpered. It shuddered in his throat and his shoulders shook because of it before he settled. But you had grappled onto that sound and you were going to run with it.Â
Your hand returned to his cock, gently tugging it and making him positively shatter in a shaking and trembling heap.Â
His hands fell to the bed beneath him, fingers clutching onto the fabric. He could feel the sheet strain in his grip before he pulled his hand free, instead threading his fingers into his hair. His scalp burned at the pull, but it was no near the rush of pure ecstasy  that ran through him in jolts of pure lightning, Every muscle simultaneously tightened and went lax as strings of cum seared wherever they landed on his own skin that your hand didnât immediately cover.Â
âTold you, youâd look good in red, First.â
Something something brain is tired but I'm in a First mood so let's try snapping the writing mood itself into gear.
First, still held by the lord who imprisoned him, who hasn't seen the sun or the sky in goddesses knows how long.
First, the one who didn't even hold full faith in Hylia, who disdained the gods even for not doing much for humanity and even dragging them into their conflicts. Who still had visions of divinity and ruin, who tried to warn his people of a calamity soon to come and was imprisoned for it.
First, who is alone and isolated in the one cell block of the dungeon with the least amount of prisoners and so so tired of it all. But suddenly perks up because a new inmate is brought in, cursing and spitting and biting like a wounded wolf but who seems to have had similar visions as him.
First, who can hear them from between the cracks in the wall, and one day tentatively initiates contact, because they are a connection to the outside world, they are someone to talk to, someone who understands and brings some light back to his eyes through each and every single conversation and story and songs and curses towards the lord.
They never see each other, but he knows they're there. And the fact that they know and they believe and they treat him with some modicum of kindness and they want to go see the fields of Hyrule with him once they're both out one day and to thank him for always caring about Hyrule and it's people even if they forsake scorn and shun him.
First, who is one day released. The lord is dead, Orville has preserved his sword, he is a freed lion, given back his fangs-
And he catches a glimpse of the one person who was on his side through it all from within the other cell on the way out, smiling lightly at him before looking away.
And he refuses to leave them behind.
(They never do get to do it, to enjoy that one day under a clear hylian sky in their lifetime.
Though thousands upon thousands of years later, through the branching of the roots of time and chance and causality and maybe divine intervention or through the power held in promises unsaid and unfulfilled-
A Champion, a wolf and a wanderer with peculiar scars on their arms get to walk side by side under a clear hylian sky.)
Aka First is more akin to his manga self in terms of skepticism of the divine, so Hylia decides to just drop an isekaied Reader onto his situation and call it a day in a "That enough divine intervention for ya?" manner alongside both Fi and Crimson to sweeten the deal.
Anyway I'll be leaving now before I get tomatoes throw at me-
Hehe, henlo insanity, I'm coming swinging from the left field here to bring you the goods and to torture your thoughts a little bit with First.
It was rare to have this chance of alone time for each other, traveling the lands of the other Hyrule and consistently fighting off black-blooded monsters. He wasn't going to let that chance go to waste.
With the boys, all settled in their beds at the inn. He snuck them both out with no witnesses except the moon. His heart would pound when hearing the stifled giggles and chuckles she held back. He brought them both to a clearing that wasn't too far or close to the inn.
Oh, he was so in love.
The sight of her standing before him at night, barefoot on the grass, staring up at him with sparkling eyes that rival the stars that painted the night's sky. Moon hung high, the faint glow of fairies and lightning bugs that danced around in the field, hearing giggles between them as they watched the scene before them.
"I bet I look like a mess," she softly chuckled. She looked away, shying away from his intense gaze. He studied her from head to toe; she looked perfect with her hair touseled, clothes a bit skewed, and tired eyes; even if she dared to disagree, he still thought she was the most beautiful. Foreheads rest against each other as both sway to a silent melody, a harmony of beating hearts.
"Darling, you look perfect tonight," First whispers breathlessly. Her eyes widened before she hid her face in his neck, giggling nervously,
"Now you're just saying that t-"
"I mean it," First hums, "I would go on and on about how beautiful you look, but I'll save that for later."
He laughs as she gently slaps his chest; he twirls her out, brings her back in, and leans her down. Her back against his chest, his arms wrapped around her, face to face, hooded eyes staring into the other. Breaths brushed against their cheeks and lips.
His lips growing closer to hers,
"Would I be jesting about this?" He murmurs.
"Mmm," she hummed, "might have to be convinced."
"Very well."
That's all I got, seee yaaaa *exits out through the roof*
Come Morning Light, You'll be Safe and Sound (First x Reader Part 3)
Part 1 Part 2
The sun is what woke you.
Winds still clung to you even in his sleep. The boy made it easy to forget that he was still just a boy. How young most of the boys really were; it hurt to think about how many of them should have been worrying about girls and acne, not the fate of their homes. Why did it seem the cost of doing what was right was so often the blood of children?
Yet they were once again sacrificing themselves to save their homes. You'd shield them from it all if you could and let them grow up like normal kids, but it was too late for that. All you could do was be there when they needed it.
Like right now, Wind always had a hard time waking up after a nightmare. The terror always sapped his energy from him and left him exhausted for days afterward, even if he tried to pretend that it didn't affect him. So it's with your fingers softly running through his hair and gentle humming that you bring him to wakefulness. "Come on, sleepyhead, it's time to wake up." You smiled as you watched him roll away from you.
"Don't wanna," he mumbled sleepily, obviously still half in the land of dreams.
"Okay, then I guess we'll just have to give Rancher your breakfast. Like most kids his age, Wind was food driven, and that was proven by the way he launched up out of bed. You couldn't even try to suppress your laughter.
"You are the best little brother anyone could ask for," You told him as you ruffled his hair.
"I'm not a kid," Wind Declared as he glared at you while fixing his hair.
"Never said you were; now come on, let's go see what the wild child's made for breakfast before someone really does eat it for us." If you didn't know any better, you'd almost say you heard First chuckle, but you doubted that. After all, he made Legend seem like an open book.
Still, it was a nice laugh, warm but understated, like the hint of cinnamon your mother used to put into her tea.
Damn, you still missed her, but it was an old ache. She'd died when you were still little, yet her memory still caught you off guard sometimes. It was a pain most of the group shared; after all, you were just a bunch of unlucky orphans.
*-*-*
Wind had been glued to your side all morning; even after breakfast, he'd insisted on keeping you within eyesight. It made you wonder about what he'd dreamed of last night. Whatever it'd been had to be bad, but you left it alone. You all had parts of your stories you didn't want to talk about, and you'd never push them to talk about something you wouldn't talk about yourself.
You weren't unfamiliar with long lonely nights under the stars or days running on nothing but sheer willpower, nor the way they could leave you feeling helpless with the weight of the world on your shoulders.
So as much as you wanted to pry into Wind's nightmares, you wouldn't. If he ever decided to share, you'd listen, but until then, you'd just comfort him as best you could.
*-*-*
First was worried about the little pirate; his nightmare had left the boy jumpy and on edge, like danger was just around to corner. While being vigilant was good, being hyper-vigilant would do nothing but leave you exhausted and unable to face a threat when one did appear.
Even knowing this, First's own experiences forced him to be on edge at even the slightest hint of trouble. It was all First could do to keep his hand away from his sword. It did calm his nerves a bit to see the young pirate sticking close to you; between your own skills and the boy's, First had no doubt that the two of you would be safe.
Still, by the time the group had stopped to make camp, he was glad it wasn't his night on watch rotation. Even if he doubted he'd actually get them, he'd at least have a chance at a few extra hours of sleep. Most of them suffered from nightmares of some sort, and First had his own share of demons that chased him in his sleep.
Even so, he wasn't happy that you and Wind would lose more sleep tonight, but that was what it was. Neither you nor the boy would stand for being treated differently than everyone else, and First could understand that. You and Wind had both earned your scars, and come morning light, he had no doubt that the two of you would be safe and sound.
*-*-*
First was surprised when you sat by him for supper; he'd assumed you'd still be angry with him.
"Thanks for not saying anything about Wind." You said while watching the hero in question as he seemed to be regaling Four with a tale of his time at sea. Wind always seemed to speak with his hands as much as his words. It made First wonder if he could decipher the story all the way over here.
"I understand the boy's pride. And besides, you seemed to have the situation well in hand." Told you after taking a sip of his soup.
"I'm surprised to hear that from you." You teased First, who stared off into the distance before nodding to himself.
"I know you can handle yourself; it's just that you remind me of someone I lost a long time ago, and given who you're surrounded by, I'm sure you can understand what that's like." You didn't know how to respond to that.
Not only was it the most he'd spoken about his past, but he was also right; you did know how it almost felt like you could lose them all over again.
"What were they like?" You asked on impulse, and you almost kicked yourself for it. It was obvious that this was a sensitive topic you were prying into.
"Smart, kind, and beautiful." So this wasn't just someone he cared about; it'd been someone he loved. "But they were far too trusting. That's ultimately what got them killed in the end." Hearing First talk about them explained a lot about his behavior.
After all, wasn't that the same reason you were so protective of Wind because he was the closest in age to your Link before he died, and the thought of another hero dying that young made you sick to your stomach.
"I understand how hard that can be," You said while watching your favorite pirate as he waved his hands in a way that reminded you of storm waves.
"It must be hard for you to be here surrounded by reminders of your loss." First Said as you took a bite of your bread. You thought about how to best reply as you chewed.
"Not as much as you'd think; what really upsets me is how young most of them were when their journeys started." You admitted it wasn't something you'd voice to most of the chain, but it wasn't like First was known to be chatty.
"I can't say I'm a fan of children fighting what should have been adult battles either, but Hyila is neither kind or merciful." You were surprised by the anger in his voice. Sure, he'd been angry, but you'd never heard this level of rage from him before. It was enough to shock you into silence for the rest of the meal.
FIRSTTTTTTTT -SOBBING-
*Your requests are open, its 2:30am and I'm craving First content.*
You know that scene in HTTYD2 with Stoick and Valka
"Go on! Shout! Scream! Say something!"
"You're as beautiful as the day I lost you"
Either First as Stoick or as Valka would be interesting (or if First refuses to cooperate, Warriors or Twilight or Time would be fun)
*not me saying to myself I hope I'm bulletproof cause this is about to hurt*
Insanity, I'm going to run wild with this, thank you.
Masterlist
Content under the cut!
First wasn't about to let anyone get close to him. Not again.
He knew that he was still young enough to find someone to settle down with, but ever since you left, he couldn't find it in his heart to seek another.
There's a hole in his heart in your shape that was never to be filled again.
Then he was arrested. For a crime he didn't commit.
That was enough for him to give up. If he was to spend the rest of his days here, then so be it. The people have made their choice. He was a hollow man anyway.
The days crept by slowly. There was very little he could do the past the time except for daydream about a time where he was younger nd more carefree. A time when you were still by his side.
He had hoped to have a family. To be a father and raise children.
Dashed to pieces and scattered by the wind, his dreams failed to bring up happy memories and left him with dreamless and futile sleep.
Years go by and eventually he's set free at last. He's not as strong as he used to be but the people need him to fight. He's not sure how he's going to do that at this point, but if he is to die; then he would rather go down a hero.
It's not like you'll be there to patch him up at the end of the day anyway.
Instead, as he opens his eyes after the fight, there's another bandaging his wounds. He's vaguely aware that he won the fight and that he's lost a lot of blood but that's about it.
The rest of his life is lived in a haze.
He's sent to go find a special item for the people now that he's proven himself again but there's little that'll prove to Link that it exists.
Instead he finds a cave that he's been explored before and enters it with little thought. He's not expecting much. If there's monsters in here then he can dispose of them and call it a day before he goes back to town and tells the people that there was no such item.
"S-stay back!"
He freezes and raises his lantern. Link's greeted by massive crystals covering the walls of the rock, mirroring the light from his lantern and lighting up the small space as it is.
There's a cloth on the floor and a few supplies.
But that's not what has his attention.
"....It's you..." You breathe and panic seems to fill your system.
Link can only stare. It's as if you're here to haunt him, only you don't seem happy to see him. He can't find it in himself to complain though. He's wanted to see you at least one last time all these years. He wonders if he's actually dying a second time and this was a gift bestowed on him for doing his duty.
"I... I know what you're going to say, Link." You wince and try to stand. You're hurt... Or rather, you have been hurt. It must be difficult to move. "I know that you'd ask why I left. Why I stayed away all these years... and why I didn't come back to you..."
Link takes a step forward and you scramble the best you can to your feet despite the obvious pain. His heart clenches. The questions you throw at him are already answered for him. It would have been difficult to come back to him even if you wanted to.
You being to tear up. "I'm sure you'd want to know everything. A-and I know that I was wrong. I knew from the start. But I couldn't-"
He steps closer, gently putting his lantern on the floor so that it still lights up the place.
Your voice only seem to grow higher and more frantic. "I couldn't! Link, please. Not like this. I couldn't. Please believe me!"
He does and steps closer.
"Link! Answer me. Shout! Scream! I don't care if you start throwing things! Just say something!"
He stops in front of you, trapping you against the wall of the cave. He reaches out and hesitates before tucking a piece of your overgrown hair behind your ear.
"You're just as beautiful as the day I lost you."
Your tears fall as he leans to kiss you, to solidify this dream, to prove to himself that he's not hallucinating.
You don't kiss him back, but that's ok. You're real and you're here and you're alive.
This is far better than any item he was sent to find.
"More than One"
Linked universe x Y/n (Female)
Warnings: Mentions of blood, Confusing.
"She's my Y/n!"
Being dumped in another place wasn't on the chains to do list.
This definitely got a rise out of the boys, nonstop grumbling coming from Legend and Wind while the others were wearing their poker face to disguise their frustration on this unfortunate situation they had found themselves in.
"Does anyone at least know this landscape?â Sky asked with a slight hopeful tone in his tired voice only to be answered with shrugs of the shoulders and grumbles.
They ventured through the dense forest, nothing but trees...trees and-Oh! More trees.
âWell this sucks, I swear that shadow is toying with us now. We werenât even in the other place for a week!â Legend was the first to speak about his frustrations earning a few nods of agreement from a few others but Time shuts it down.
âEven so, there must be a reason why we were sent here so early. So instead of complaining we will figure it out and rest.â
None of the boys would even object to Times commands, they would only lash out internally. âWell, weâre low on food and weâre in a forest..Perfect time to stock up, don't you think?" Wild suggested, Time was against stopping now but seeing as it was getting late and that the boys would be satisfied and no longer needed to complain he had no choice to.
"Fine, we'll stop here for tonight. We leave first thing in the morning"
⯠ââââââ âż â« âż ââââââ âŻ
Wild adjusted his bow as Twilight stands behind him, "I'll come with, don't know where you'll end up." Wild only rolls his eyes playfully, "I bet you'd sniff me out if I got lost."
The two were walking deeper into the woods but not deep enough where they didn't know where they were. Soon in a clearing Wild found some deer, Wild signals for Twilight to stay put and to keep quiet as Wild crouches towards the herd.
he aligned the arrow in the middle of the bow, pulling the string back he focuses on the deer...
'Gotcha!-'
Wild's Sheikah slate began to beep out loud, startling the herd and making them all flee so in a hurry Wild shots but misses, Wild huffs and grabbed his slate from his hip and looks at it.
The slate was already on the map and it had a glowing spot, 'Detecting another Sheikah slate user'
Wild was confused, no way someone in this era had a Sheikah slate, must be someone from his era...Wouldn't be Zelda, she was getting her Sheikah slate upgraded, Could it be...?
Wild's eyes widened and he was about to run towards where that glowing spot was but Twilights hand rested on his shoulder, Wild hugged the slate to his chest so Twilight wouldn't see. "Didn't catch anything huh?" Oh that's right...
"Nah, stepped on a stick and made them run away" Wild lied through his teeth, Twilight didn't seem to catch on, "That's fine, we'll try to find something else. C'mon" Wild gulps and nods, He really wanted to go searching but he couldn't do it now, Later.
"Finally! Took you long enough to come back! I'm starving" Wind hops up to his feet when he sees the deer draped around Twilight's shoulders, "Sorry, I'll get on with cooking" Wild smiles and pulls out his pot.
Once everyone was satisfied with their dinner they helped to clean up but when Four went to grab the pot he noticed leftovers from dinner, "Hey Wild, what should I do with this?" he asked, raising his brow curiosity. "Oh just leave it, I'll keep it." "Leftover's huh? You don't normally leave leftovers." Twilight points out. "Yeah...Got a bit carried away with cooking, no harm in more food, right?" Twilight nods.
"So who's on watch tonight?" Legend grumbled at the thought of it being him- "I'll do it" Wild offers, no one seems to object since neither of them wanted to do it.
"I'll be on second" Twilight nods.
⯠ââââââ âż â« âż ââââââ âŻ
It didn't take too long for everyone to knock out, Wild waits a little bit before grabbing his slate to see the glowing spot again. Wild needs to go and find them, but he knows he'd be in trouble when he's back nor will he forgive himself if he leaves and something attacks while he's gone.
But he needs to reach them...Needs to reach his-
He leaves the camp with light footsteps to not wake anyone...but unknowingly someone was awake that whole time.
Once Wild knows he's at a safe distance he begins to pick up his speed and run quickly towards the glowing spot on his map, heâs so close-
But once he approaches he sees a dragon, resting on its side, itâs taking deep huffs as if itâs resting.
Wild looks terrified, he looks at his slate and then back at the dragonâŠHis glowing spot is where the dragon is.
No way, was he late? Did the dragonâŠDid the dragon kill Y/n? Was he late again?
While he was deep in thought he didnât realise the dragons piercing E/C orbs staring at him, not until it let out a low growl.
Wild was in a hurry and forgot to grab weapons, something he now regrets. Though the dragon had arrows and various other weapons on its back which explained why it was on its sideâŠIt wasnât attacking since it was probably tired but Wild wouldnât take any chances so he kept his guard up.
Wild takes another look at the slate and throws the slate in frustration, He failed again, to protect someone he had loved.
The dragon wasnât phased, however, the dragon was thinking about how dramatic that was untilâŠThe dragon noticed the eye on the slate and it looked familiar.
The Dragon growls once more to gain Wilds attention, once Wild looked the beast lifted up its wing revealingâŠ
Y/n, His Y/n. You were safeâŠsorta.
Blood covered the side of your torso, it was dried up but you probably lost so much you were unconscious now. Your slate was loosely in your hand, Wild wasted no time running towards you, grabbing you and checking your pulse and breathing.
Once he saw that you were still alive he let out a breath he didnât know he was holding. âGotta bring you backâŠâ Wilds ears twitched when he heard the bushes rustleâŠ
âDamnit, not here.â Wild muttered but once he saw it was wolfie he huffed.
âOf course, you sniffed me out didnât you?â Wild sighs when Wolfie walked over to him, sniffing the girl in Wilds arms.
âLook, Iâll explain later. I gotta take her back to the others, hopefully Hyrule can heal herâŠâ Wild says as he gets up and runs offâŠ
Wolfie turns to the dragon who was resting once again, letting out a weak huffâŠWolfie walked over and gives the Dragon a little nudge with his snout earning a soft grumble from the dragon.
Once Wild made it back to camp he rushes into Hyrules tent to wake him up, âHyrule! Hyrule! Ugh, Link!â Wild shakes Hyrule making him shoot open his eyes in a hurry, he looks up at him and rubs his eyes.
âW-what? Monster?â Hyrule reaches for his sword but Wild shakes his head, âNoâŠbut can you heal her? Please.â Wild pleaded as he lowered you down gently on the ground, Hyrules eyes widened but he looks determined.
âExplain afterâ
âRoger that.â
To be continuedâŠ
A thought that I shared with a couple of mutuals, cause I cannot shut up about Stardew Valley right now. Imma mix mash my favs together and make y'all spiral with me.
You, the only beloved grandchild of your grandfather, was given a letter by your grandfather who was on his last leg, filled with information regarding his left behind farm and cottage in your name. He told you when the day comes that when you've grown tired of the city and yearn for a life free from the shackles of the ever growing demand of corporates and nonstop hustle bustle. The farm and cottage will be waiting until you are ready. Years passed and of course, you become tired, exactly what your grandfather told you would. With no thoughts to spare to the city you left behind and little clothes on your back. Quitting your job, you head towards Pelican Town.
The mayor was friendly, save for the carpenter that definitely made you laugh until she made a jab at your grandfather's cottage. While you could agree, since it's honestly not much, yet you'll make do with what you got for now and add things on later. However, the slight pang went through your heart at the disrespect she gave to him. Before the mayor could set off, he highly encouraged you to introduce yourself to the entire town. He then goes over with you about the shipping container, what to put in there while handing you a sack filled with parsnip seeds. He also gestures to the tools he was able to get you that were sitting on the porch, with a wordless pat of good luck, he sets off down the road back to the town.
MEET OUR BACHELORS
First: Single (Bachelor)
Meeting First was quite quick since the man was known to be busy and quite on the run to get things done before heading back to the adventurer's guild that his great uncle runs. He was short in his greetings to you and apologized swiftly that he had to be somewhere.
It may not seem like it, but this man is definitely a poet with words. Chivalrous, that had his great uncle playfully rolling his eyes at his nephew.
Yet there's something underlying mysterious about him that drew you in to him. Perhaps you should gift him things and get to know him a little more better!
Sky: Single (Bachelor)
The eldest son of the carpenter! He lives down southeast of Lon Lon Ranch. He's the absolute sweetest person you've ever met in your entire life. The bright smile on his sleepy face had you mentally cooing at him.
He carves, paints, builds little bird houses just like what his mother use to do. He definitely decorates his home each time the season changes, it's so damn adorable.
He's single due to a breakup that did not end on good terms unfortunately. While he still respect her, however, there are things that were said that ended up hurting the other.
Four: Single (Bachelor)
The grandson of the blacksmith. He was working behind the counter when your fresh face entered the shop. Obviously, a little put off since not many people tend to flock to Pelican Town. He's a bit shy yet he makes small talk just to get to know you better. Until his grandfather emerged and the look on his face had him laughing.
Yeah, he ain't laughing anymore when his grandfather told him 'that's the kid you used to play with all the time when you were younger.'
He takes the tools you got and upgrades them or process the geodes that you tend to bring in.
Time: Single (Bachelor)
The working left hand man of Lon Lon Ranch. This man scared the absolute shit out of you when he showed up on your front porch that morning. To open a door to a towering, one eye, scarred man was not on your bingo card of shit you witness while living here.
He was straight to the point of who to come to when buying animals whenever you get your barn and coop up n going.
He's someone you want to be careful around, an anger you do not want aimed towards you. That mask you saw sitting on his belt felt ominous. He's hard to get warm up to.
Twilight: Single (Bachelor)
You were just planting the parsnip seeds when you heard a bark come from behind you and yelling from someone telling to 'Come back!' A black and white dog ran up on your porch with its tail wagging a mile a minute. A cute dirty blonde haired male came jogging up with an exasperated look before realizing you were the new farmer there.
He was embarrassed yet quickly introduced himself. The adopted son of Uli and Rusl's, the older brother to Colin and his soon to be born little sister. He also works at Lon Lon Ranch.
He's hiding something.
Hyrule: Single (Bachelor)
The doctor of the town. A shy sweetheart that introduced himself to you after you came in due to an already early incident on the farm. He scolds you gently for doing something stupid and rash.
May or may not have told you one day that he wasn't getting enough patients which affected his pay heavily.
Man has unprocessed trauma.
Wild: Single (Bachelor)
He runs the saloon, all by himself, save for his friend Flora does tend to come help him to keep things smooth and sailing when it gets packed. He was friendly enough to introduce himself to you when seeing you pass him on your way to Ravio's General Store.
He def encouraged you to take a load off once and awhile to relax in his Saloon.
He doesn't remember his old life, it seems like he doesn't want to either way.
Warriors: Single (Bachelor)
The older brother to Wind and Aryll. House is on the beach and he's dramatic as hell yet he comes in later on year 2 of your life on the farm. He introduced himself first thing in the morning and he's a bit stiff about it.
He's the only soldier(?) in Pelican Town and ties to the city, he seems so tired and run down honestly.
He's doing his absolute best to raise Wind and Aryll after the funeral of their grandmother.
Legend: Single (Bachelor)
The lone wizard that "summoned" you to his tower to gift you the language of the Junimos. Just to be able to easily translate the language and to fix up the community center.
His sassy attitude def threw you off yet he's standoffish. Only asking you of things he needed from the mines.
He seems to be mourning something.
Ravio: Single???
The owner of Ravio's General Store. The sight of his bunny ear hat sat upon his head was the first thing that caught your eyes. His eagerness to greet you while showing you the package of seeds he was given, showing off the wares he gotten.
The sight of his broken heart made yours clench when one of the workers of Joja mart came in and declared loudly that things were on sale for 50% off. He's trying his best, but the income is needed.
Is finding ways to take down Joja Mart
Yan!First Headcannons
He has fond memories of his guide. How they skillfully protected him with their insight to ensure his success. He clutched those days of tranquillity close to his heart -or what he believes to be left of it- when he was locked up. When you were ripped away from him by a jealous godâs hand. He tries to focus on the softness of your voice and not the shrill of your screams when you were being made to watch his torment. He was free now. But from what he knows, you arenât. And on your name he is going to maim the soul that did that to you. Even if itâs the goddess that allowed you to meet in the first place.
That said, he didnât originally know you were his guide. He was shaken from being thrown into a portal and he was so hurt and you were so kind⊠It was natural for him to latch to the first bit of care given to him since your first absence.
It didnât take him remembering -or rather realising- you were his guide until he started his spiral. No. Heâs been teetering on the edge for years, and if falling into madness ment falling into your arms, then so be it. With that, he doubles down when he remembers you. Brought together by the gods and fate, how could he not keep you to himself after so long of being on his own?
He thrives on whatever it is you want. Heâll talk or listen to you for days, savouring the calmness in your voice. Heâd pull you close in front of everyone and remember every freckle on your skin, every scar that lined it, every hair on your head. Heâd write you letters of sonnets and prose, watching you read it with concentration, as if to see that you like it. Heâd buy you anything, do anything, say anything, so long as it had your approval.
I see him as either very sneaky and courting you so eloquently that his possessiveness and protectiveness is part of the package. Him showing off that you chose him, that heâs good enough. Him showing off that no matter how much his⊠predecessors think they have you, youâve always been his from the beginning. This is with an earlier intro to the chain, him trying to fend off competition as more members begin to fall. A strategy, if you will.
Or heâs on you the second he has consent, not caring for standards so long as you are his and he is yours. A scramble for your attention against your many suitors followers. I see this as First with a later intro where everyoneâs already not right in the head. Heâs bartering for and peice if you at this point. Any attention you give him will be well spent and obsessed over.
100% kidnapping you the second the chance presents itself. Youâll be married properly, heâll treat you impeccably well, just be sure to play along.
Fav nicknames for you: My dear, Dearest, My love, My Sun, Flower, Darling, essentially anything classy
BONUS: This single handedly had me questioning if i wanted him and the others in ACU
Misunderstanding
Legend x Reader
Summary: Where two idiots in love refuse to accept their feelings and end up suffering from their lack of communication.
It had been two days since we had passed through a portal that took us to an unknown time. We were currently searching for a nearby village where we could seek information, but night was approaching and there were no signs of civilization so close, which led us to the decision to set up camp. Murmurs of complaints about tiredness were heard, having been walking through the trees and sleeping under the stars for days on end, but there was not much to do; we should keep moving forward.Â
The group quickly split up, everyone already accustomed to their respective tasks so that everything could be organized as quickly and efficiently as possible. Already knowing my position in this math, I hurried to collect firewood and help Wild with the food. Everyone seemed discouraged and without energy lately. I wish I could do something to change that. Maybe preparing something different for the meal would be a good way to start.Â
I was quick to collect dry branches that could be used in the fire. These recent times that I was traveling with Chain ended up training me for this type of activity. I didn't have the habit of camping before, but now it has become part of my daily life, my routine, I had to learn to like it and adapt, but it's not so bad. At least I have good company.Â
I went to Wild with what I could get and he arranged to light the fire in his unique but quick way. With that arranged, we analyzed what we had in stock to choose the ideal recipe. Thanks to the Sheikah Slate, the ingredients were well preserved and we usually had a large stock of things. The problem is that with such a large group it was necessary to replenish frequently, and it had been a while since we had done that. The variety of vegetables was low, but we still had mushrooms and some meat, which needed to be replenished urgently tomorrow.Â
We decided to use all the remaining rice to make beef curry and mushroom onigiri, which we could store to eat tomorrow as well. With that decided, we set off to prepare. Wild took charge of the curry while I made the rice, which I would need a lot of water to wash, so I decided to start preparing it at the lake near where we camped. I grabbed what I would need and started to walk away from the camp. It wasn't very far, depending on where you looked, you could still see the clearing we were in next to it.Â
On the way there, I came across Veteran, who was returning from his own search for water for everyone to drink during the night. It's been a while since I've been able to talk to him. No matter what I do, something always happens that prevents me from starting a conversation or keeping it going for very long. I wonder if he's avoiding me for some reason, always dodging my questions, always avoiding looking at me. Maybe, even after all this time with me in the group, he still doesn't trust me, or he just doesn't want to get close.Â
This idea alone makes me sad. I would like to get along with everyone in the Chain, of course, but especially with him. There were few times when we could really interact, alone, but they were precious moments for me. Even without that intention, he managed to turn bad days into good days, just by talking about some nonsense with me or telling me about something from one of his adventures. I thought we were getting closer, but then what could have happened for him to avoid me? Maybe I said something stupid.Â
Seeing this opportunity to try to talk to him, I felt a smile form on my lips as I opened my mouth to say something nice and every day, just to test the waters, but I didn't even have time to do so. Legend walked past me, quickening his pace and leaving me behind, without even looking me in the eyes, remaining focused on his destination. Maybe this wasn't the best time, or maybe he just didn't want to talk. I hope so.Â
I made my way to the lake, trying to take my mind off it, I crouched down at the edge of the water and began the delicate work. It was an easy task, but not so quick, so I gave myself time to think. No matter how hard I tried, for some reason this boy just wouldn't leave my thoughts, surrounding my mind with all the possibilities of what could have happened, making my heart tighten melancholically, blaming myself for something I don't even know what it is.Â
I pushed these thoughts away when I finished the task, collecting the used things and returning the way I had come here. Trying to focus on how I would prepare the meal, I managed to distract myself enough, but that only made me realize how hungry I was. I approached the Cook, showing him my work and putting the pot on the fire, careful not to burn the only rice we had left. Still disturbed by those thoughts, I gathered the courage to approach the subject with the hero next to me, who might be able to shed some light on all of this.Â
â Do you think the Veteran has been acting strange lately? â I asked, trying to find out if it was really something related to me.Â
â Strange? Not that I noticed, he even seems a little excited. â Wild replied, confirming my suspicions, making me wilted.Â
â Then it must be with me. I feel like he's avoiding me, but I don't know what I could have done wrong?Â
â Avoiding you? I don't think that's it. Oh, unless you did something really bad, he's not mad, you can be sure. After all, if that complainer was mad at someone, you can be sure everyone would know! â He joked, making me laugh thinking about how dramatic the Vet could be sometimes, it was comical, kind of adorable.Â
That was good enough to calm my anxiety, for now. I would still like to know the real reason for it, but I don't want to pressure him, so I'll keep quiet for now. With that thought, I managed to calm down enough to focus on the food I was preparing and not burn what we would have for dinner.Â
âÂ
It was around noon, and we had been walking since sunrise, but to our lucky luck, we finally saw signs of a nearby village, which we should reach in less than an hour. Still unable to identify the area, we had no idea what time it was, but it was already clear that this was not the Hyrule of any of us, or else we would have known by now.Â
Wind had been telling me and the Blacksmith about one of his adventures on the high seas the whole way, in his usual lively manner, to which I tried to pay as much attention as possible, which was difficult considering that my main thought was showing my tiredness and hunger. The onigiri prepared yesterday had not even lasted an hour since we started walking, it was basically breakfast, but it was not enough to sustain everyone for that long, so I imagine the others are in a situation similar to mine.Â
I'll make sure the first place we go when we get to the village is a restaurant. That was the main thought going through my mind right now, but between the internal complaints of hunger and leg pain, I held on tight, listening to the Sailor's story and trying to be as involved as possible.Â
The sun was shining hotly in the sky, but it was a welcome warmth compared to the cold winds that were biting us. There was plenty of nature around here, but the trail we were on was through the middle of the forest, which made me think that all this nature might be a bit too much for me. There were times when branches and plants brushed against my legs, scaring me because I thought it was some insect. The boys must think I'm crazy because of the occasional muffled screams I would let out because of it.Â
I'm thankful for having heavy leather boots that were great for this type of terrain. I can handle monsters, but I definitely don't have the head to deal with small, poisonous creatures that can approach me without me noticing. Which is terrible considering my obvious lack of attention to my surroundings.Â
The rest of the way was a bit easier, the trail was more open, which allowed us to pass through peacefully until we reached the entrance of the village, where we were greeted politely by the locals. This seemed like a very welcoming place, accustomed to tourists, it was a relatively large village, so I imagine it must have been a long time ago from the Traveler. The locals who welcomed us answered our questions pleasantly and I was quick to ask where the nearest restaurant was, which luckily wasn't too far away.Â
Everyone agreed that we would eat first and explore later, we would need to divide the group into different tasks, such as getting information, staying, and restocking food. We followed the path that had been explained to us and soon came across the establishment mentioned above. It was a large restaurant with a rustic wooden look, very pretty, and it seemed like a comfortable place to be. None of us were against having lunch there, so we all went in, famished.Â
Time had to make sure everyone stayed in control and didn't cause a ruckus and end up getting kicked out. We had to wait a while until we found a table that would fit the ten of us, but soon we were all sitting down, chatting and thinking about what we would order to eat. Even with the Old Man and myself trying to control everyone, the table soon became a blur of animated simultaneous conversations, which I couldn't resist joining in on.Â
â I want a risotto! â Wind chose, excited to be able to eat something different.Â
 â Wait a minute, we haven't even been served yet. â I replied, laughing at his excitement.Â
â Oh, I wish I could try a little bit of everything. â Wild commented, almost drooling over the menu.Â
â You can try a little bit of what each of us orders. â Hyrule suggested, receiving disapproving looks from his brothers who were not so willing to share their food.Â
â No way! â Four replied, not at all in favor of this possibility.Â
The conversation continued while everyone debated what they would order, I settled for a seafood fried rice, which looked simple but very good. So, we started to wait to be able to order, conversations were still circulating around the table, but at a relatively lower level than before. It was then that a beautiful young woman, a restaurant employee, approached our table, ready to take our order.Â
She was truly a slender, tall, and beautiful woman. She looked like a princess even though she was hiding in such ordinary clothes. Her long, wavy golden hair looked angelic, and her deep brown eyes showed a certain maturity. The others didn't seem to care much, but I know she must have received looks, which were totally justified given her level of beauty.Â
Soon we were waiting for the food in a pleasant atmosphere. The last few days had been peaceful, without any problems, while we tried to get to the village, which made everyone relaxed and was a relief. The food arrived and ran out almost as quickly. Everything was very tasty, and on top of that, the place was beautiful and cozy. It was truly a find. I would like to come back here before we leave this village.Â
It took about an hour and a half, from the time we arrived until everyone finished eating, paid, and went out to explore the city. Warriors divided us into small groups. Twilight and Wild would be in charge of hunting, Hyrule and Four would buy other food that was missing. Sky and I were responsible for finding a guesthouse and booking rooms while the rest of us split up to explore and get information.Â
âÂ
Sky walked beside me through the quiet streets, some locals who passed by greeted us kindly, which we reciprocated. After walking for a few minutes, we decided it would be best to ask someone where there was a guesthouse; this village was quite large and the last thing we needed was to get lost. Not to mention that, of course, we were desperate to rest soon.Â
After following the proper directions, we arrived at a large residence, with a very clear sign indicating it was the guesthouse. It was easy to find, it was the largest building in the area, which was mostly residential. We went in and Sky offered to make the reservation and request the rooms, getting five rooms with two beds each. I helped him get the keys, which we would have to distribute among the others later, but for now, we chose our own rooms to take a look at the quality of them â and to take a nap.Â
Entering the room, I was surprised by a beautiful view from the window. We were on the top floor, the third, and the view from here was very beautiful, not only that, but there was also a small balcony. The room was very clean and organized, the two single beds had large, heavy white duvets and two fluffy pillows for each bed. A small bedside table made of white and wood gave a charming air to the place, which in itself had a wonderful smell of perfume and cleanliness.Â
I felt like I could cry with happiness at finally being able to sleep in a comfortable bed and in a clean place without bugs climbing on me or grass biting me. I may be getting used to this adventurous life, but deep down I was still a homebody who loves a rainy day, being indoors, under the covers drinking hot tea and reading a good book.Â
I threw myself on the bed closest to the window, my muscles relaxing and a sigh of relief escaping my lips as I stretched out in bed. I stayed there for a few minutes, just feeling my body relax as I gathered the courage to get up. The receptionist told us that we could use the bathroom as much as we wanted, that the bathtub would always have hot water for a bath, and I would love to take one after all this time.Â
A little more rested, I lazily got out of bed, grabbed a towel also provided by the inn and headed out of the room, walking down the hallway to the end, where the bathroom door was. Entering the place, it was very simple, with a large bathtub in the center and some wooden buckets on the side. The bathtub was full and steam was coming out of the water. Great, I'm dying for a bath that will burn my soul.Â
I undressed and got in, feeling my skin sensitive to the heat and my muscles relax with it. I lost track of time there, but I must have stayed there for at least twenty minutes before I realized it and finished bathing. My mind, clouded by the good feeling, didn't allow me to have complex thoughts at that moment, and that was what I wanted most.Â
After drying myself and putting on clean clothes, I felt refreshed and ready for anything. With the towel wrapped around my hair and my dirty clothes in hand, I returned to my room, leaving my belongings in their proper places and hanging the damp towel on the balcony to dry. I could see how beautiful the day was outside through the large window, and that was enough to motivate me to go for a walk.Â
I left the inn quickly, taking nothing more than the bare necessities with me, my purse and wallet, because I don't know if I can resist the urge to buy a souvenir from this lovely village. Or a sweet treat at the bakery, that would be nice too. Walking through the streets bathed in the golden rays of the sun, I found myself lost in the comforting harmony that was there. It must be a good place to live, in a peaceful time.Â
I walked a little, about two blocks, before I heard two familiar voices talking nearby. Instinctively, I approached them, cautiously. I could recognize the voices of the Veteran and the Traveler, both having a conversation that I soon realized was personal, so I thought it best not to show myself and move away, but something about what they were talking about caught my attention, leading me to do something I'm not proud of.Â
â You don't have to lie to me, my brother, it's obvious that you like her. â Hyrule's words made me freeze in place, preventing me from leaving their private conversation, keeping me out of sight.Â
â I don't like her! You're all crazy if you think that, she means nothing to me. â Legend replied stubbornly, but even I, who haven't known him for that long, know that this was a big lie. Which made me go over it in my mind and think about who they were talking about.Â
â Oh, Vet, please! I saw the way you look at her, as if she were the most precious thing in the world, your eyes even shine. â The Traveler continued, sounding somewhat provocative.Â
â No way, you're seeing things that don't exist. â The grumpy boy replied, while I struggled to think about who they were referring to. The only viable option was the girl from the restaurant, she was the only woman we had come across in a long time.Â
â You can deny it all you want, but you two are the only ones who don't see it. â The other hero continued. â Believe me, walking away and denying it will only create more problems.Â
I couldn't hear the other's answer, because I left as quickly as I could, considering that I had already heard much more than I should have. Knowing that Legend was in love, and with a woman he had just met, is too much for me. I felt discomfort in my chest, probably because I had heard more than I should have, now I feel guilty and I don't know what to do. Maybe I should confess my sins to him, but then he would hate me even more than I believe he does.Â
I took a deep breath as I considered that I had distanced myself enough. Okay, I need to think on the positive side, I can use this to my advantage. I can do something for him so that he forgives whatever wrong I did, that way we can be friends again and he won't avoid me anymore! Well, then I believe I have a plan.Â
â â âÂ
I walked away from Hyrule when we arrived at the inn, which had already been reserved for our group. All this talk of crushes only served to make me angry, he's wrong, I would know if I liked her, and I don't. Speaking of which, it's likely that she's at the inn right now just like Sky, and I definitely didn't need to see her right now, not after all this nonsense I'd had to listen to. Trying to avoid this terrible encounter, I finally headed in the opposite direction of the inn, alone, to try to distance my mind from these thoughts.Â
It's been a few days since I last spoke to her, but hey, it's not my fault. I've been having some nice moments with the new girl over the past few weeks, and I was happy, until there was that fight against a group of monsters, in which I was so distracted by the good memories of our conversations, by her contagious laugh, her smile that I couldn't perform well in the battle, almost getting hurt several times because my gaze kept guiding me to her to make sure she was okay. Well, it's all her fault for needing help in the battles.Â
After that, I considered that it would be better to avoid her at all costs, just for this strange feeling to pass and I could concentrate like before. But man, this has been hell. Even in a short time I got used to her presence in our group, and then, less than a day without us talking and I was already torturing myself, every single thing that happened to me, my first thought was to tell her, so I had to scold myself for such a thought.Â
Seeing her talking to the others while I had to keep my distance was even worse, those lucky ones don't have to worry about getting distracted in battle. But maybe that's my fault, I was weak for not being able to stay focused, because apart from that my situation is the same as my brothers, isn't it?Â
I have to admit, she has become an important friend to me, but the Traveler is crazy if he thinks it's anything more than that, I mean, it's the same thing they feel for her too, nothing more! And now I not only have to distance myself to keep my sanity, but because I don't have the courage to talk to her, I know I must have hurt her by avoiding her, and I feel ashamed of it. But I can't say it, not yet.Â
My thoughts were interrupted when I felt a blow on my back, turning angrily to the person who hit me, only to completely falter to see the one I had been thinking about all this time, smiling at me like a silly child.Â
â Legend, I found you! Do you want to have dinner with me at that same restaurant? I really wanted to go there again. â The girl smiled excitedly.Â
 â What? Did Team say we should eat there again? â Without much way to avoid this conversation, I just acted as if I hadn't exchanged words with my dear friend in days.Â
â Oh, no, I'm thinking of just the two of us going. â She answered, surprising me and making me more nervous than I would like to admit.Â
â Going to dinner, at a restaurant, just with you? â I said awkwardly, feeling my heart race pathetically for no reason. I had to look away, unable to look her in the eyes, probably because I had been so rude all this time.Â
â Yes, please! â She answered me and I felt forced to look at her again, only to see the look of an abandoned dog, begging for it, hitting all my weak points.Â
â Geez, okay, I'll go. â I agreed, feigning irritation to hide my nervousness.Â
She seemed satisfied with this, starting to walk in the direction of the restaurant and I saw no other option but to follow her. We weren't very far away, and since I had been walking around all day we didn't get lost either, so we were soon at the door of the establishment.Â
We entered together, and there was already a movement in the place, but we managed to get a table for two easily, it seems she had already booked it before. This makes me wonder if she had been planning this, a dinner, just the two of us, for a long time. I shook my head to get those thoughts out of my head and focused my attention on the menu in front of me. From what I understood, she wanted to come back here to try different dishes, so I would go for it.Â
My decision was interrupted when I saw her suddenly stand up, saying she was going to the bathroom or "something like that" and that I could order. She left, going into one of the corridors of the place and disappearing. I sighed tiredly, feeling my face heat up, I hadn't realized how being alone with her made me so nervous, at least this distance was able to give me time to think. Thinking about how all of this is making me feel strange, it was different from the guilt I thought I was feeling, it's much stronger. At the same time that I feel so awkward in this woman's presence, I can't see myself away from her, because this thought makes my heart ache.Â
â Would the handsome man like to propose? â A blonde woman, an employee of the place, asked me, with a suggestive tone in her voice, which made me frown in disgust.Â
â Hm, no, I'm waiting for someone.Â
â Oh, there's no need to be shy, I know you're interested. â She continued, too bold for my taste.Â
 â I don't know where you got that from, but you're wrong, I already like someone else. â I answered, admitting what I had noticed a few minutes ago without a hint of regret.Â
â Hm, really? But your friend said you had a crush on me, sweetie.Â
â What? â I asked a little incredulous, and then I looked in the direction the woman was pointing, and, through the window, I could see the beautiful eyes that I had fallen for spying on us both, and hiding when they realized they had been noticed.Â
I sighed, holding back a laugh and at the same time frustrated. What did she do?Â
âââÂ
I hid as fast as I could, moving away from the window, hoping I wouldn't be noticed. I had a plan, and it was a great plan, okay? I talked to the blonde girl, Amy, and told her that my friend had a crush on her, and if she couldn't give him a chance. God, she was arrogant, conceited and looked me up and down as if to say "Of course he liked me and not you!" I wanted to kill myself for going ahead with that idea, but it was for Legend, I wanted to see him happy.Â
So, I swallowed all my pride, and all the heartache I was feeling, and went after the girl to continue with my fake cupid plan. I guess it's kind of shitty when Cupid is in love with you, and yes, I admitted to myself, the reason this grumpy boy is in my thoughts all the time, the reason I always want to fight for his attention, for his smile, I ended up developing a crush on him. And I torture myself for it.Â
The restaurant door opened, revealing the aforementioned guy, coming out with a not very happy expression, he didn't say anything, he just grabbed me by the arm and dragged me away from the place. My heart raced nervously, he must be furious with me right now and I didn't know what to say, it was all my fault to begin with. But I thought she would at least give him a chance.Â
â What are you-Â
â Please, I'm sorry about that! I overheard your conversation with Rulie and found out that you had a crush on that girl and since you've been avoiding me lately I thought you might be mad at me, so I thought that by helping you with her maybe you'd forgive me for whatever I did and then you'd talk to me again, because I miss talking to you and you're very important to me and I just wanted to see you happy! â I said everything quickly, without even taking a breath, looking away for fear of how he would react.Â
Then, a silence, which lasted for a while, the only thing that made me look at him again was the sun of his sweet laugh reaching my ears.Â
â What are you talking about? I don't like that woman, I don't even know who she is! You got it all wrong, the woman I fell for was you, idiot. â Legend said, leaving me speechless, my brain struggling to process what he said.Â
My cheeks heated up when I finally began to understand what he was talking about, my heart in turn seemed to have gone faster in this regard, accelerating even before I understood the situation. I felt breathless, forgetting to breathe due to so much surprise, my thoughts meandering through all the events, replaying each one of them, but now with this additional information that made everything make sense, that took a great weight off my shoulders and the anguish from my chest.Â
â Oh, Hylia, thank goodness, I was dying of jealousy while I was doing that, I just didn't want to admit it! â It was the first thing that came out of my lips, while I sighed in relief, only then did I realize that this wasn't what I should say in a situation like this. â I mean...Â
â You really are an idiot, you know that? â Link interrupted me, approaching me and touching my face gently, pulling me closer so he could place a soft, warm kiss on my lips, which took me by surprise. I was initially lost, but soon I was returning the gesture happily, I felt on cloud nine being in his arms and my heart was pounding, happier than ever. â My idiot.Â
Yandere first headcanons
following on from my sky headcanons here's first! I'm writing something for him and got a bit of how I'll be writing him as a character down and thought I'd share it <3
[masterlist]
⊠He is the link that takes the longest to get attached to you, not wanting to get close to yet another person who could betray him in the end, but unlike with Sky it isnât strictly due to him not wanting love - but not wanting to let anyone past his walls
⊠falling for you wasnât intentional on his half, but spending time with you, both alone and with the rest of the chain, broke his defences bit by bit until the remainder crumbled to less than ashes
⊠The most clingy of the links, having spent years alone in a dungeon locked up for something that wasnât his fault.
⊠due to this he has abandonment issues as well, not liking being away from reader, scared of anything that could possibly happen to you in that time youâre away from him because anything could happen to you.
⊠heâs a lovesick fool for you.Â
⊠The most charming of the links, knowing how to court you the old-fashioned way. Taking you on candle-lit dates or staying up by the campfire with you every chance he gets.
⊠A gentleman beyond belief, taking precious time to learn your favourite everything. foods, colours, clothes, music especially songs not from his world.Â
⊠Seeing as you aren't from Hyrule he was slightly opposed to letting you past his mile-high walls in the first place - but like removing a keystone from a bridge he fell apart at getting to know you.
⊠He would prefer to stay in some form of Hyrule with you - being more familiar with the medieval world than the modern one but would cave quickly if you seemed uncomfortable with being in Hyrule
âŠPlease show him around your world if you do decide to drag him back with you, seeing as itâs drastically different from what heâs used to heâll be jumping to your defence at things he deems as threats, like a puppy hearing the doorbell for the first timeÂ
⊠surprisingly he actually much prefers the modern world once he adjusts, as would be the case with most of the links, not having to constantly be weary of monster attacks really helps their mental health
⊠After the âadjustment periodâ where he becomes more familiar with your world heâd focus all of his energy being the perfect most chivalrous boyfriend you could ever want, learning everything he needs to keep you happy.
⊠Donât worry about how he can afford it all.Â
⊠He wonât risk you getting caught up with his work.
