Headcanons

I like the idea that their bionics were chosen due to complications in their birth/childhood i.e. Adam had muscle problems, Bree couldn’t walk and Chase was born deaf.

Chase is bi, Bree is lesbian, Adam is panromamtic/asexual, Kaz is bi, Skylar is lesbian, Oliver is bi, Leo is straight and Marcus is gay.

Chase has autism and anxiety, Oliver has autism, Kaz has ADHD and Bree has ADHD.

I like the idea of just Chase being Douglas’ biological kid like he created Adam in a lab and then when he saw him glitch he thought maybe it would work better on a female’s anatomy so he created Bree in a lab and when she glitched he thought maybe the kid has to be born not created so he had Chase but Donald took them away before he could see if it worked perfectly or not.

Hot take but I will never blame Bree for being "selfish" or "angry"

(She has never had a single moment to herself and is always looked down upon. She's surrounded by people who don't understand how she feels, she lost her entire childhood. She sees other girls having a normal life and knows she will never get to have that, and she's valid for being upset about that)

Hot take but I will never blame Chase for being "rude" or "defensive" or "egotistical"

(His whole. Life. He has been picked on and never taken seriously. Always told he has the least useful bionics. He's egotistical because no one else will value him, he's defensive because so many people have told him he's useless and ugly and everything else. And in elite force, he's called rude but can you blame him? Suddenly he's not the only one with super intelligence. Suddenly he's faced with 3 heroes he can't understand and he hates not understanding something.)

Hot take but I will never blame Adam for being "aggressive"

(I am a firm believer that he's far too rough on chase, and needs to stop and learn how to be gentler, but also he was built strong and large to hold his bionic strength, and he was never taught "hey don't hurt people like that" or how to express affection or emotions because hey, guess what, none of these kids were fucking raised properly.)

Hot take but I will never blame Leo for being "cocky" or "reckless"

(He joined this family late, he always feels like an outcast. The whole show he's ostracized because he's small and a "loser" and he doesn't have as many bionics as the others and he was a student instead of a mentor. We've seen this during the arc when he tries to make a new team, he just wants to prove himself and prove that he is a valuable part of the team. And even when he does go too far and gets too reckless, he immediately recognizes his mistakes and tries to leave the team and the island because even though all he ever wanted was to prove himself, he still left because he believed that was the safest thing for the people he cared about.)

Spin-Centric (Trans Spin Fic)

Gettin some Leo-Spin sibling-like dynamic shit here (That was the intention, idk how well I delivered on that)

After Leo saved them from quicksand and brought them back to the academy, Spin went straight to Bree. 

“Spin! What happened to you?” She asked. 

“Quicksand,” Leo said. 

“Yeah, uh… Can I take the rest of the day off after we send our stuff to the laundry?” Spin asked. 

“Oh, sure, Spin,” Bree said. “Uh, you wouldn’t get these clothes back until tomorrow evening,” She said. 

“Oh,” He said quietly. “Can I take tomorrow off too?” He asked quietly. 

“Seriously, dude?” Leo asked. “It’s just an outfit,” He said. Spin looked down at himself. 

“Of course you can, Spin,” Bree said with a smile. “And you can stay in our room, if you want.”

“Yeah, that’d be great,” Spin said sadly, walking off. Leo walked with him. 

“Dude, what’s the big deal? Why do you need the day off just to get your clothes back?” Leo asked. Spin tensed. “And why is Bree giving you special treatment? You two can’t possibly be that close!”

“Leo, leave it alone,” Spin said. “We aren’t even friends, so stop asking this sort of thing,” He said. “I gotta get changed and showered, don’t follow me,” He said.  

“Why would I follow you,” Leo muttered, walking off. 

After Spin showered and changed into his oversized uniform, he headed straight for the mentor’s dorm. 

Where Leo apparently was. 

“Leo!” Spin exclaimed, crossing his arms. “What are you doing here?”

“I live here,” He said pointedly. “These are my siblings, and I don’t sleep in a capsule, and Big D didn’t give me a bed,” Leo said. “Why are you here?”

“Bree’s letting me stay here until tomorrow,” He said. He sat down in a chair and put his knees to his chest. 

“Again. Why?”

“Stop asking me that stuff!” Spin exclaimed. 

“Isn’t it gonna be bad for you to not sleep in a capsule?” Leo asked, honestly sounding concerned. 

“Worth it,” Spin muttered. “It’s just a night, I’ll be fine,” He said. 

“So, just gonna sleep in that chair?”

“I guess,” Spin said, repositioning to rest his head on the back. 

“That can’t be good for your back,” Leo said. 

“It’s just a night,” Spin said again.

The three mentors entered the room through the elevator. 

“Oh, hey, Spin,” Adam said. “What are you doing here?”

“I invited him,” Bree said. “He’s just gonna stay in here until tomorrow.”

“Why? He has classes to attend,” Chase said. 

“My uniform isn’t clean,” Spin said. “It got dirty when I got stuck in the quicksand.”

“Which I saved him from!” Leo bragged. 

“You’re wearing a uniform right now,” Chase said. 

“Chase,” Bree said. “He’s staying here. It’s a personal thing,” She said. 

“Bree,” Leo said, standing up and putting his hand on Bree’s shoulder. “I know Spin is… a guy, and that’s pretty much your type, but he is way too young for you,” Leo said, getting Spin’s repulsed attention. 

“No,” Bree said. “Gross,” She said. “Dude’s like my brother,” She said. Spin smiled at the label. “Also, gross,” She said. “No offence.”

“None taken,” Spin said, waving his hand. “I can leave if it bothers you guys,” Spin said, his voice cracking. 

“It’s okay,” Adam said.

“You’re supposed to sleep in a capsule,” Chase said. Bree put her hand on Chase’s shoulder. 

“Chase, leave it alone. It’s just a night,” She said. Chase sighed, knowing there was probably no arguing with his sister. 

“Alright,” Chase said. “We should get to bed though,” He said, “Night guys,” He said, going into his capsule. 

“Yeah, sleep goodly,” Adam said, going into his capsule too. Bree ruffled Spin’s hair again.

“Good night, Spinster,” She said. “Don’t think too much, ‘kay?” She said. Spin nodded. “Night, Leo,” She said before speeding away into her capsule. 

“Night, Spin,” Leo said. 

“Goodnight,” Spin mumbled. 

Leo and the others fell asleep pretty fast. Not like Spin. Spin couldn’t sleep. He hugged his knees close to his chest. 

He didn’t usually sleep with his binder, no, he wasn’t allowed to. But it still hurt knowing that he wasn’t able to wear it the next day. And he’d grown a bit, even with the oversized shirt, you could notice if you looked closely. 

And he did. Too much. To the point where tears fell from his eyes. A few quiet whimpers escaped before he noticed Leo shifting on the couch. He moved from the chair in the main area to a lawn chair near the pool. He’d be further from them. He could cry the way he needed to. 

And while he was still quiet, Leo woke up. Probably naturally. He noticed immediately that Spin wasn’t there. 

“Spin?” Leo asked, at full volume, knowing that the capsules were sound proof. Spin shut himself up after that, thinking that if he were quiet, Leo wouldn’t notice him. 

Spin was wrong. Leo actually got up to look for him, and noticed him immediately. 

“Oh my god, Spin, are you okay?” He asked, walking quickly over to him. 

“Yeah, I’m fine,” Spin said, whipping his eyes and putting on a good fake smile. He’d gotten used to having to do that. 

“No, you’re not,” He said. Spin looked at him, confused. “You’re basically crying.”

“Whatever,” Spin said. “Doesn’t matter,” He said. “I’ll get over it.” 

“No, seriously,” Leo said, scooting closer to Spin. “What’s wrong? Why were you crying? Did you get any sleep” He asked. 

“No, and… I’m… not ready to tell anyone,” He said quietly. 

“Well, you don’t have to tell me,” Leo said. “But if you do, I won’t judge you.” Spin took a breath. And then another. Another. 

“Okay,” He said. “You know how me and Bree have been getting closer?” He asked. 

“Wait, was I right, were you guys dating? Aren't you like 10?” Leo asked. Spin gagged.

“Gross, man. And I’m 13,” He said. 

“You’re only 2 years younger than me?” Leo asked incredulously, “Now, that cannot be right.”

“Yeah,” Spin spat. “It… started a few months ago.”

“I know,” Leo said, “When you were stabbed,” He joked. 

“Yeah,” Spin said. “About that,” He said. “I obviously wasn’t actually stabbed. They were menstrual cramps,” He dreaded. 

“Menstrual cramps? Isn’t that a period thing?” Leo asked, not catching on. Spin sighed. 

“Yeah,” He said. “And then last month, she got me a binder,” He said. “Which is why I’m here. It got dirty in the quicksand.”

“What’s a binder?” Leo asked. Spin sighed, a couple tears escaping his eyes. He pulled his shirt back so that it was tighter around his torso. 

“It makes this not something you can see,” He said, motioning to his chest. 

“Oh,” Leo said. Spin let his shirt go, and curving his back so that it looked baggier on him. 

“There, now you know my big secret,” Spin said. “I was born in the wrong body and I wanna die because of it,” He said, scaring Leo. 

“What?” He asked, a bit sternly. It reminded Spin of when he’d joke about it to Bree.

“I’m exaggerating,” Spin said, “Mostly,” He mumbled. “Anyway, that's why I’m staying here,” He said. ”So other people don’t learn about my big secret,” he said. Leo hugged him from the side. 

“Sorry,” He said. “I didn’t know.”

“It’s okay.”

“Does anyone else know?” Leo asked. 

“Just Bree,” He said. “She’s been helping me with everything. About being a girl,” He said, mumbling the last word. 

“You’re not a girl,” Leo said. “Just trapped in his stupid body.”

“Agreed,” Spin said. “Stupid body,” He said, leaning into Leo. “I hate my body,” He said quietly. 

“Uh,” Leo said. “I really don’t know what to say. Because on the one hand, I hate that you don’t like your body. And on the other hand, I don’t want to tell you that I hate your body.” Spin let out a light laugh.

“Thanks, I guess,” He said. 

“I, uh…” Leo cleared his throat. “I heard that sweatshirts can help with dysphoria,” He said.

“Yeah, Bree read that too,” Spin said. “But they don’t have sweatshirt versions of the uniforms,” He said. “She said she’d talk to Douglas about it.”

“Right,” Leo said. “But in the meantime, you could… have one of mine,” He said. Spin pulled away slightly. 

“Really?” He asked. 

“Yeah,” Leo said. “I mean, I have extras. And my mom could always send some over too,” He said. “If it helps.”

“That’d be great,” Spin said with a weak smile. But this one was genuine. 

“Then I’ll go grab one,” Leo said, getting up and walking over to the one dresser in the room. He grabbed a soft, dark blue one that said ‘Don’t mess with me, I’m bionic.’

He returned to the chair with Spin. 

“My mom gave this to me,” Leo said. “After Uncle Douglas told my mom I had a bionic arm.”

“I can’t take this one, man, your mom gave it to you,” He said. 

“You don’t have to take take it. You can just borrow it,” Leo said. “At least for the day,” He said. Spin sighed, though with a smile, and took it. 

“Thanks, Leo,” He said before slipping it on. Leo smiled.  

“Of course, Mini-Man,” He said. Spin shifted. “Wait, is it okay for me to call you that?” He asked. “Doesn’t make you uncomfortable, does it?”

“It’s fine,” He said. Leo smiled. 

“Cool,” He said. “Night, Spinny,” He said. 

“Night, Leo."

i used one of (i think??) the promotional materials as a reference, where she was wearing a pink flannel. i know she didnt really wear her hair up until elite force but ....... yeah she looks nice with the ponytail :]
