i wanna write a song specifically for you but im figuring out how i wanna go about it cos you gotta do the right approach; Made Of Scars was a third draft kinda song cos the other drafts Did Not Fucking Work (although i am still partial to "i dont wanna be your medication on the bedside table" thats just. such a raw ass line) like i kinda wanna do similar to the "i wanna be the cause of your smile" line from a dif song but that song was also AIMED HEAVILY AT SOMEONE ELSE (when i wrote it i asked a few friends "is it worse that its about a fictional alcoholic (shane) or is it worse that its about a real life friend")

idk maybe smth flower-related. i do like rhododendron (just a really fun name for a plant) and i rmb looking up the meaning and going :0 so maybe??? but idk. maybe you help me with flower stuff and the song can have flower symbolism. OR NOT IF YOU DONT WANNA THATS TOTALLY FINE TOO!!!!!!!

Fun Story to Share.

I got my (now 18-year-old) daughter into Ao3 back in 2021. I taught her she should always comment - even if the fic looks old or abandoned or whatever. She did.

Well - she got this email this morning:

The fic was written in 2014 and essentially abandoned.

Bethy read and reviewed in 2021 (and was actually the only person who had commented at all).

Today in 2025 - the final chapter was posted by the author and this was her reply to Bethy’s comment.
