Chocolate For Breakfast, A Spiritual Experience ;)

I think culturally in North America we have so much guilt around food.  Eat THIS, don’t eat THAT!  Low fat, low calorie, low sodium, low fun.  What if eating healthy and nurturing foods for your body can be a satisfying, sexy and dare I say… a spiritual experience??  

This is how I feel about GLOW chocolates by Julie Beyer.  They’re raw, organic, refined sugar free and full of actually good for your body ingredients and are by far the BEST tasting chocolates I’ve ever had.  Yes, you heard me, BEST EVER!  I literally buy them by the hundreds and often start my day with one or two… or three ;)  An awesome pre workout hit too! The organic cacao gives me a natural little burst of energy and because I make a point of sitting and allowing it to melt in my mouth, slowly savouring it, it’s a meditative experience.  One thing I always appreciated about many European cultures is their love of good food, pleasure and making space for it.  Eating glow chocolates is not only good for reducing sugar cravings and your waistline as you avoid other crappy choices, but it can actually help you improve your relationship with food as you make space for the pleasure and sensuality of the experience of putting something delicious and healthy into your body.  I think it’s important to nurture our health AND treat ourselves, these things don’t have to be mutually exclusive ;)

Infused with LOVE VIBRATION… for realz!  I know Julie and I can vouch for that.  One of my favourite things is supporting awesome healthy obsessions created by awesome lovely people.  Case in point for writing this blog.  

In addition to the super sexy and love infused Glow chocolates, Julie has also brought back her sugar free Glowball truffles which is very exciting for anyone who wants to avoid any kind of sugar altogether and have a delicious treat that is more than satisfying.  They’re made with carob instead of chocolate, are vegan (as are the GLOW chocolates) and oh so delicious!!  Completely sugar free these babies are good for people who have diabetes, candida or any issue that discourages sugars of any kind.  I swear I’m not lying to you when I say Glow goodies are my favourite treats, full stop.  

Now I’m going to be straight up with you guys because I really do want to inspire people to live healthier more connected lives… if you’re someone who eats a lot of refined sugar it may be hard to make a cold hard switch to something like this.  Sugar is like crack (or so I’m told) and it may seem impossible to kick, I’ve certainly had my own struggle with this in the past.  But I promise you if you do it slowly, or jump in cold turkey, it will not only change the way you feel dramatically, it will potentially prolong your life and health in ways you’ve never imagined.  And if you need something to help make the transition GLOW is there to help you.  An uber healthy, good for your body product like this may seem like it costs more, but I have two things to say about that… 1) You’ll end up saving money in the long run as you cut out all the junk and shift your eating habits and 2) YOU DESERVE IT!

Those of you who know me know I’m a self love advocate and work in progress.  Feeding myself these gourmet, life infused goodies is one of the ways I express love to myself and feed my body, mind and spirit.  Cacao is said to open the heart and allow for a deeper, more authentic, love based connection with yourself, others, the world, and all of life.  Magic!!

In one of my last trip to Italy I visited a monastery, where monks works in their garden and make several different products.
