I been obsessed with the space channel “kosmo” since yesterday and this thought came up and it actually annoy me.

(WARNING ATP this turned into more of random ramble but yea)

I feel like using celestial bodies in arts is very underutilized, esp since it could make the art much more profound and emotional. Basically I am saying, gundam fans, please start drawing suletta on mercury or smth like that. Or Use Pluto to symbolize the loneliness of Hitori from Bocchi the rock idk!, I just want more people to actually make supernatural space arts(like signalis or that art with the angel on the moon) I guess

For me, there is just smth euphoric(i think that the word not sure) about space arts and stuff like that for my whole life. It is actually why I got SUPER into Destiny all the way until the dlc after forsaken(i only stop cus I hate the grinding and the money stuff, and felt that the story don’t mesh well with the gameplay, anyway). Smth about the art direction and design just make me go emotionally glow ya know? Like the intro of the first destiny was GOD TIER when they show the Traveller fucking the mars atmosphere or when they show the vex realms thing. I think it actually go beyond space but to series like STALKER or otherside picnic. IDK the hell I am saying but I think basically, Scifi + supernatural + fantasy + space(don’t need all at the same time)= me brain happy.

Weirdly enough it doesn’t include Lovecraft stuff, those bored me for some reasons. Might be cus of how Lovecraft world work is honestly kinda dumb. Like the whole people go insane cus they can’t understand the eldritch is dumb esp cus recently we had found smth that pretty much put big hole in our theory of the space age but we hasn’t go mad so yea. Same with starwar, it kinda stale for me but i still do like the force and Jedi stuff. Funny enough I like the anime shorts they did the most.

I think the whole connection with stars and moon in LWA is partially why I love LWA so much. This whole thing might also be why Manifold garden is one of my most favorite puzzle game ever.

Best New Anime of 2022

so i had cancer this year! which apparently means i actually watched enough new anime last year to do a top ten list? so i guess this is my first anime top ten! pretty neat! i’m only gonna cover shows that premiered this year because it would be hard not to put stuff like Mob Psycho and JoJo on here and there was so much great new stuff that i wanna focus on. here goes!

10: Love Flops: this show… this fuckin’ show y’all. the first few episodes are…. A Lot. some of the horniest anime bullshit i’ve seen. it takes over half the season to really show its hand. and look, i really don’t want to spoil anything, because it has some truly great reveals, but goddamn is it an incredible fucking hand. a show that is both absolutely demented and very touching

9: Aharen-san wa Hakarenai: translates to Aharen is Incomprehensible. just a really cute, chill little romcom about a couple of goofballs and their even goofier friends. was a very nice thing to look forward to during a pretty hard summer!

8: Urusei Yatsura: i originally had Spy x Family here, but y’know what? fuck that. Lum’s Back Bay Beeee and she looks better than ever. David Productions outdid themselves here

7: Bocchi the Rock: the most i've related to a character in ages. great music, great animation, great pals

6: Chainsaw Man: not typically my vibe, but it's so good i can't help but appreciate it anyway. i have trouble with “misery parade” stuff but Chainsaw Man takes it so far that it becomes hilarious. i really love its exploration of intimacy and control, very nuanced and looks at a lot of different aspects of it. Power and Denji’s friendship is super refreshing, Makima is scary as hell, and Himeno is… unfortunately very hot. don’t @ me

5: Ya Boi Kongming: time travel is always my jam, and this is one of the best. it subverts the whole "the character is dumb bc they're from the past" thing by making the MC a master strategist from the Three Kingdoms period. there's initial confusion, but he picks up quick, and it's more about him using his stratagems to help a girl become a famous singer. it also has one of the best OPs of the year too

4: Birdie Wing: it's the Lesbian Mafia Golf anime, what do you want from me

3: Akiba Maid War: legit one of the most buckwild first episodes ever put to film. absolutely has to be seen to be believed. all i'll say is that the title is literal, and it’s majestic. #1 fuckup gang of 2022

2: My Dress-Up Darling: immaculately crafted romcom, incredible characters. more or less a perfect show, would have been my top spot if the next one hadn't come to eat its lunch a few months later. the scene on the train after the con is one of my favorite scenes in anime period

1: Call of the Night: feels like a show made specifically for me. it's a romcom, but it's moody and there's philosophical shit and vampire fights? sign me the fuck up. then there’s Anko Uguisu, who is a fucking Problem 🥵 and to top it all off, it's the most gorgeous show i’ve seen in a long time. something like Demon Slayer has really fluid action sequences with amazing effects, but it looks pretty standard otherwise. but the composition and color and detail of every shot is so carefully considered in Call of the Night, it’s really something special. truly, absolutely cannot wait for season 2. i picked up the manga and am around chapter 100 now, it’s going in some really fascinating directions

and that’s my list! i was going to make this an honorable mentions section but ended up just mentioning basically everything else new i watched lol. so here’s that:

Ranking of Kings is a show i really loved but it just didn’t quite make the cut. the ending felt a little rushed and it started getting a bit predictable, but still great if you need a good cry

Shikimori Isn’t Just a Cutie was sweet and fun but felt a little thin

Spy x Family is really well-made and totally adorable but i have to take it in small doses for some reason

Reincarnated as a Sword i had no real issues with and i’m looking forward to season 2, but it just wasn’t a top 10

Eminence in Shadow: love the farce, fuckin’ hate the MC. still not sure where i come down on it tbh

Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting: liked it, didn’t watch enough of it

Do It Yourself! is really cute but it never quite hits the highs of something like Laid Back Camp. still worthwhile if you like that kind of thing tho

Lycoris Recoil: i really enjoyed it while i was watching it, but i keep forgetting it exists tbh

and as far as returning stuff goes Mob had such a great ending, i’ve really enjoyed the Stone Ocean adaptation, i just got into Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun this year and i’m having a great time with it, reminds me so much of that 00’s Soul Eater/HxH/toonami-type shonen but much less fight focused. and of course, Uzaki-chan was fucking incredible, as expected

it’s kind of crazy how much good anime there was this year and how many i haven’t even gotten around to yet! this winter 2023 season is seeming… a bit dry so far but at least Queen Nagatoro has returned to grace us with her presence. gonna wrap it up, but if someone found this and read all the way to the end… hey, thanks! you’re great!

Confession and love letters about any f/o ya want!

I'll do this with Hitori<3! Confession - How did the confession happen, and looking back, what are your thoughts on how you were back then?

Well, it was a little bit of a disaster... Nothing crazy, but sense we're both so nervous and soft-spoken it took ages to happen! I was officially the one to blurt it out, and then we basically turned to goop fghj We were at her house, hanging out in her room, on and off chatting.. my heart was beating like crazy(and she said her's was too!) and I just had to say I liked her! I stumbled over my words but eventually blurted out 'I have a crush on you!!' I actually had to leave soonish after that, so I kinda hurried out and it was a few days until I would see her again(the weekend) so I didn't know how she felt(we were both too nervous to text the other) but when I did see her again, she was beet red and said she liked me too! She actually wrote a song for me<3 it was so sweet and just made me fall for her harder! It really wasn't too long ago, and we're still kinda figuring out how to act around each other withought basically imploding fghbj Love Letters - are they good at expressing how they feel? What's their best way of letting you know they love you? ahh- Bocchi is real unexperienced with this kind of stuff, which makes her all the cuter<3 but I think she is, in her own special way! You've just gotta learn to speak her language to figure it out :) She tends to get her emotions out by playing the guitar, so she plays for me sometimes! we hold hands, and she sticks with me, so I know she loves me<3

As big Akina Oshi here some updates from his streams thanks to translations and self-translating I had to do even though it takes several hours so it might be kinda false! This also may include other livers as well!

NJU stuff: I have been informed for the kokoro odoru stage during NJU, Axia was supposed to perform with Kanae, Akina, Kaida, and Gaku. For more info on their stage he redirected you to Kaida stream (lmao). While it is a shame Axia didn’t perform with them again please remember to respect other livers and not to bring him up their streams. On a brighter note this means Axia actually had a 3D so most likely Lauren does or will have it soon!

Akina had wanted to perform Mecha Kirai Ya for a long time but didn’t know who to do it with so when he got paired with Masaru he immediately suggested it. They practiced for a month but he feels kinda sorry cause it was harder for Masaru to sing. Masaru came up with the name “Hamaguchi Minami” (it comes from a couple named Hamaguchi Masaru and Minami Akina) after watching a clip from Akina!

Fuwagusa were also originally not going to perform together cause Akina felt that they have been singing a lot but they got grouped together anyway lmao. They tried getting an orchestra but couldn’t so they did harmonies instead LMAO. Shukumei was also not their first choice in song but another group already took the song they wanted so they went with it.

Himachan thought of the alien headbands for Saedama’s performance. Apparently both Kaida and Honma can’t say Saedama, only Akina can cause he thought of it. And yes bullying Kaida was part of the plan during the performance.

Anime Rec: Akina has also watched Bocchi the Rock (BASED GO WATCH IT MF) and his favorite chara is Kita (He’s just like me fr fr). I LOVED bocchi the rock especially as a guitarist (I kinda suck now cause I stopped playing for so long cause no time ;-;) so please watch it if you have time, as an introvert Bocchi is a mood and there’s a lot of funny gags.

HaYun Date: Akina also did go on a “date” with HaYun from Nijisanji Kr. They went to an aquarium, got a meal, shopping, and a night sighting??? (Night view???), basically a date lmao. Akina paid for everything apparently.

There is probably WAY more but I don’t want to spend more time going through everything and these are some parts I kinda picked up as an update. I tried focusing on parts that might include other livers (cept Bocchi cause Bocchi is life) so now you know a bit more behind somethings! Sorry if it’s hella long!

Cloverworks : *sobs* Oh what have I done? I tried everything to live up for this. I have messed up the Promised Neverland show and I'm a total nut job. Except for DITFXX that purposely failed to live up to it's reputation, but why did I even think about making a Gecko Endings, they're not the same as Gainax endings. Oh wait, they always do that to Gainax, but what's the deal with having a new show that less greater than something? While collaborating with Wit Studio was no concern of mine, I wonder what new show that I am currently adapting?

Death Note was another one that was pretty good but drove me nuts- loved the second op though- n' I'm excited to continue Boku no Hero Academia n' Demon Slayer.

I don't plan to watch Chainsaw Man but the manga looks good.

As for games: I've played that [Redacted] series n' saw the anime for it as well as read some of the novels when I had the time.

I liked that Hagakure guy, but I can't put my finger on why... oh, n' Leon was pretty cool, too.

I loved Mondo n' Taka, not gonna lie.

Also liked Nekomaru n' that Kaito dude.

What was up with that Gozu guy too- he was interestin'.

Persona games are pretty good, too.

I played Genshin for a bit. I like Diluc. I swear- that Itto guy sounded familiar, but I'm not sure where else I'd heard him from.

HSR might be more my thing, but I like the fighting style more in Genshin if I'm bein' honest. Otherwise, I'll still be more active on Star Rail from now on.

I like Boothill n' Aventurine.

Story Pile: Summer Time Rendering

2022 was a kind of terrifying year for anime.

Terrifying in the scope, the variety and the general quality, mind you. It was still a year with a bunch of movies and continuations of things I don’t care about, and it was also a year in which the anime industry kept reeling after literal terrorism and the results of a pandemic slowdown. Still, the thing is, even when you take that into account and also the burnout and stress the anime producers are under, 2022 was a year with a selection of anime that would, in a less busy year, be considered the best anime released that year.

You doubt me? Well, consider that across 2022, we got heavy-hitter franchise installations Spy X Family, Demon Slayer, Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War, Bleach: The Thousand Year Blood War, Ascendance Of A Bookworm and the final season of Attack On Titan. There were also some pretty remarkable releases in the queer media space, with a mainline yuri production The Executioner And Her Way Of Life pushing into the isekai franchise space and The Witch From Mercury taking the lead of probably the venerable anime franchise machine that is Gundam. Looking at the lighter, shorter series, things that didn’t need a big backing from a big studio to get out the door, we got shows all over the genre space like Ya Boy Kongming, Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie, My Dress Up Darling, Akiba Maid War, Fuuto PI, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Lycoris Recoil, Call Of The Night, Bocchi The Rock, Do It Yourself, Urusei Yatsuara, and oh yeah, did I mention Chainsaw Man up top because yeah, Chainsaw Man also came out in 2022.

That’s… one year. Any of those 21 series would be an all-star excellent show to be ‘the one great one’ of the year. For comparison, in 1993, when I think I can say I started really paying attention to anime (we called it Japanimation), there were twenty four anime series made at all.

And I bring this list to your attention, the scope, and the weight of that scope and hopefully also the number of highlighted links showing that hey, yeah, these aren’t just critically praised or noteworthy shows but shows I like, where I want to tell you about the anime that gets to be 22 on that list, and may, in my opinion, be the best one.

Summer Time Rendering is a 2022 anime based on the Shonen Jump+ Digital Manga series written and illustrated by Yasuki Tanaka who at least according to wikipedia has done nothing else. The TV adaptation is by OLM, long-standing anime industry juggernauts responsible for, amongst everything else, Inazuma Eleven, Yo-Kai Watch, Beyblade, Cardfight Vanguard, and, of course, the entire run of the Pokemon anime, amongst other less kid-oriented fare like Komi Can’t Communicate and Life With An Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated Into A Total Fantasy Knockout so we can mention an isekai genderswap anime as well, for the full bingo. As to what Summer Time Rendering is at its heart, is a mystery story, which makes it kind of challenging to talk about in a way that can both illuminate its virtues without dispelling some of the tension that people like to discover themselves, especially since one major component of the story is a time loop,
