I've got some Douma Fam headcanons I wanna share!!

I think that douma had some basic knowledge of age regression from books and his followers experience it themselves (also I'd like to note that in my Headcanon world for the douma fam I like to think after his parents died he made the cult into a shelter for families and people trying to get away from their abusive families/loved ones! He still runs it and acts like the leader but he isn't considered a 'god' anymore and got rid of all the culty aspects :3)

It wasn't until he took in Daki & Gyutaro did he have first hand experience with it, with daki having regressive episodes and gyutaro being her caretaker!

It took a while for the siblings to trust him enough for Gyutaro to let him anywhere near Daki while small and for her to not cry when Gyutaro was near by, but eventually he was able to be a lot more active in her regression and took on a 2nd caregiver role to her!!

Eventually after the siblings became fully comfortable around douma and his temple did Gyutaro start to regress himself, since he no longer needed to worry about taking care of daki or just basic survival, his own trauma started to rear their head and he started to involuntarily regress

He tried his best to hide it from both daki and douma but after a particular hard day and him accidentally breaking one of Douma's vases he ends up slipping and both of them finding out.

He was surprised however when both douma and daki welcomed it without any hesitation, daki was ecstatic to finally be the big sister for once and douma was just happy to be able to give him comfort and to know he felt safe enough to experience it with him ;^;

Some extra headcanons!

Douma converted one of his extra rooms into a playroom for the siblings!! He loves spoiling them and giving them things they didn't have growing up so the room is filled with toys, art supplies, stuffed animals, books and anything else the siblings could ask for!

Daki (and eventually Gyutaro) have their own favorite stuffed animal that they bring everywhere with them while little! Daki has a fluffy white cat plush with a pink skirt she stole off of one of her dolls for her kitty! And Gyutaro has a older scruffy rat plush that he absolutely fell in love with as soon as he saw it, he will infact bite anyone if they try to take it from him

Despite Douma being a demon he still needs reading glasses to read books up close, so before getting ready to read the siblings a story he will go grab his reading glasses, or Daki/Gyutaro will go run and grab them! They usually do that when they want to force him to read a book to them!

When Akaza later started to regress and douma gained his trust enough for him to meet daki and gyutaro while small, at first they were SO jealous at not having all of Douma's attention anymore, and (specifically daki) started to pick on out of jealousy, but eventually they got it all figured out and now they are all very close! And the shabana siblings and akaza are now best friends when small! (And big as well >:3)

~Oh I love that. Daki is very little coded. I feel like Douma would have to be on eggshells taking care of her solo. She knows the power she has over him, all it takes is her threatening to call her brother and tattle on the other demon and she would get whatever she wants

~I can imagine Douma trying to take the rat plush from Gyutaro wanting to wash it, only to be met with a very angry mentally two year old and his hand getting chomped down on by very sharp teeth

~Ah I have such a soft spot for caregivers reading to their little ones. Imagining the siblings just handing over a pile of books and sneakily adding more to the pile to keep Douma reading to them

~Casually takes care of three little ones at once.

~Okay but imagine all four regressed. Maybe Muzan having to watch over them? I think the idea would be cute.

You’ve been up all night watching over Jae-eh as she becomes clingier given that her temperature’s high. You tried all the home remedies you thought of to help her feel better and it did kind of help her as it puts her to sleep more peacefully now.

You’re all alone looking after your daughter as Jaehyun is on call in the hospital, and it’s been three days since he stayed at the hospital to monitor his patients. You didn’t bother telling him about Jae-eh’s situation anymore either. She was just teething and it’s normal to have a fever for babies.

On your side table, your phone rang. You answered it right away, afraid that it might wake your sleeping daughter. It was your husband who called. “hello?”

“hi, babe. How’s things going there?”

“oh we’re fine, Jae-eh just fall asleep. How about you? Have you eaten your dinner?” You asked and carefully rose out of bed to go somewhere far away so as not to disturb your child.

“No not yet, we just finished doing rounds and I have some free time to call you guys now- “ Jaehyun was cut off when Jae-eh wailed not far from you, so he heard her.

“wait” You said as you attended to your daughter, you didn’t drop the call and just placed your phone on the edge of the bed, hence Jaehyun was still able to hear her cries.

“babe? What’s wrong? Is Jae-eh okay?”

You get your daughter up to sway her again to sleep, but she just keeps on crying.

“y/n? is everything all right?” he asked to no one again.

“awwie” Jae-eh complained in her baby voice, and although it’ll sound like a blabber to others, as parents, it was clear to both of you that she was complaining of pain.

"What? What’s awwie? Love, what’s Jae-eh's awwie? Y/n?" Jaehyun asked worriedly. You remembered you were still on the phone with your husband, so you grabbed your phone and answered his questions. "She’s been teething since last night and just early in the morning she got a fever," you explained to him while cooing your daughter to stop her from crying.

"Did you call her doctor? Why didn’t you tell me?" he asked continuously, as worriedness was evident in his voice. "Babe, she’s just teething-"

You got cut off when Jaehyun ended the call, which is very unbelievable as he never dropped your call before, even if he’s busy. But you just shrugged it off anyway and continued calming your daughter down. Maybe there was an emergency at the hospital.

For a few more minutes, Jae-eh has calmed down but is still hiccupping from her cries. Her cheeks were squished between her head and your shoulder as you swayed her. Suddenly, you heard a car screeching outside your house. You peeked out of your bedroom window and you saw Jaehyun’s car followed by an unfamiliar-familiar car.

"Goodness gracious," you exclaimed when the car doors opened and revealed your husband and Jae-eh’s pediatrician. You rushed down to your living room with Jae-eh in your embrace to meet the two guys who were clearly fresh from the hospital.

"What are you two doing here?" You asked, trying to put authority in your voice, but also lowering it as it may scare Jae-eh, who’s trying to sleep. "You didn’t tell me she’s not feeling well," Jaehyun said as he took Jae-eh from your arms.

"Because she’s just teething," you replied as you handed your daughter to him. "He pulled me out of my apartment and said there was an emergency," Johnny shrugged, assuming Jaehyun had simply panicked. "It’s nothing serious actually, John," you informed him. "Jaehyun just panicked." 

"I can actually tell," Johnny replied, looking at Jae-eh, who was now looking more lively than before. "But well, since I’m here tonight, I might as well just check on her teething," he said, as he tried to open Jae-eh’s mouth to examine. “Say ahh, Jae-jae”

You and your husband, on the other hand, were silently arguing with each other with your eyes.

It was nothing serious. I would’ve called you if it was

Of course, she’ll complain

"Okay, enough sending daggers to each other." Johnny interrupted your eye talking to your husband. "It’s her molars that are growing." He started, facing you. "So yeah, it’ll hurt her." And now he faced Jaehyun.

"But nothing serious to worry about. I’ll just prescribe a drug to somehow soothe the pain. Okay, Jae-eh?" Johnny then looked at your daughter and caressed her hair and pouted with her.

You just shook your head and glared at your husband's actions before going upstairs to sleep.

Well, at least he’s here. I can finally sleep.

pretty self-explanatory! bruce is emotionally immature and just. yeah i feel like he oftentimes does feel the same as he did in that alleyway yknow. maybe he’s realizing the depths of how immature he is right here in the moment of recognizing that the person he finds himself loving right now is also someone he could potentially lose. i think of bruce as someone who loves a lot. maybe here he’s acknowledging how the price of loving is the possibility of pain.

Bruce being an avid dreamer is a pretty popular concept n idk I think the concept of his dreams diverging from the nightmares of his loss to a dream of him acknowledging that he’s mourning and wanting the world to stop or like. him having a nightmare where the only coherent words he remembers after waking up is just his internal “i’m so tired” but maybe its survivors guilt maybe its just the desperation to hold on to whatever he can of the people that he lost maybe he's just trying to hold on to all the good and the good memories are just. so intertwined with the pain of loss. but he doesn’t want to let go of it

“I think pain is waiting alone at the corner / Tryna get myself back home, yeah / Looking like everybody / Knowing everybody lost somebody... A reason I see myself in a million faces / A reason I can't stop it all from changing / So come on, motherf*^&r, you survive”

i think these lines can be used to represent him turning his pain into his efforts for making gotham better. basically just. redirecting the love into the city and the people rather than only mourning. obv it would be his entire mission after his parent’s deaths. and for canon continuity reasons—since it's a bit more hopeful maybe it's after jason’s death and after tim comes around? idk i imagine bruce remembering his parents and remember jason around the manor hallways and on the city rooftops. the whole “trying to get myself back home” can be like home = the person lost or just. literally bruce trying to put in the effort to dragging himself back home for (himself? tim? alfred? hmm.) n the other lines are just. him seeing himself in gotham and seeing worth in human life. it connects to his compassion and his no-kill-rule and his empathy and his taking in of his children. and like yeah he can’t stop it all from changing he can't prevent every death but he’ll try to. the survive line is also pretty self-explanatory.

ok no he is not financially struggling n i will b honest this is a self-indulgent song to maximize relatability <3 but my decision to put this song was also based on the idea of him just. missing him mom so muchhhh?? maybe a dream? maybe the aftermath of fear gas? who knows but here the “forget” will just be for his parent's deaths. I imagine this to be somewhat akin to the mask of phantasm monologue he has at his parents grave. (spoilers for that: he’s basically asking his parents for forgiveness for potentially abandoning his oath of bettering Gotham as Batman). last line makes me #$%^&*( just. hnnnnnnn imagine him waking up blurry eyed and brain fogged and he’s just grasping onto the false belief of his parents still being there n clinging on to the comfort of his pre-crime alley childhood before he truly wakes up.

okok this is on my bruce + romance playlist too bc it reminded me of batcat and bruharvey. it can also be interpreted as his fam ig? but I feel like that doesn’t apply for most of the song.

 I just think. that. Bruce would have abandonment issues. first four lines can be taken for all three (batcat, bruharv, the family) interpretations. the truth being hidden doubling both as his identity as Batman and just. the fact that he loves them lol (batcat, bruharv). last three lines lean towards bc and bh but personally they reminded me more of bat cat (probably bc ppl always say they’re so similar). basically I feel like this song could signify their fears of losing each other in whatever way that means (romantically, platonically, death) bc they both care for each other so much and impact each other so muchhsuagdj but at the same time it feels like its bound to end badly. (ofc it doesn't. whether or not they like. break up from a romance or have a falling out between friends i’d like to think some time after they heal they become reconnect n their relationship w each other is stronger and so alike what it was before but different bc its just. so much healthier this time. and to copy and paste from my thoughts on my other playlist: bruce crashes at selinas house sometimes and she makes the him catsit for her bc she thinks it’s funny when he complains abt her cats and calls them mean names and then gets a picture of bruce knocked out cuddling them like 30 m later courtesy alfred)

Jyl: i might not know much about hunts, but i know there’s never been a rule about catching too much prey
