HEY ITS ME although I am obviously super invested in Astro Boy I still want to ask questions out of evil intent. So I wanna know !! What are your favourite versions of Bem and Atlas ?? Which adaptation do you think handled their characters best / most interestingly ?

hmm... the only versions of Bem i can think of are the 60s one and the 2001 one (though i do see a bit of em in tima metropolis) and i actually haven't seen the 2001 movie hehe ,, so i don't think i can pass judgement here BUT. 60s bem is perhaps my favorite astro boy character Period, and the 2001 version would have a hard (but not impossible) time beating the original with regards to their weird alien magic, their apathy in response to catastrophe, their grace in self-sacrifice, whatever the FUCK they were doing with gender, and their relationship to atom. ough. i want to find a method to save them at the last minute and then adopt them and let them enjoy human hobbies forever. here have this bem i doodled last night

actually in the process of getting that screenshot i reread The Entire Atlas Story. not as silly as i remember! he serves as sort of an introduction to the capability of robots to do evil on purpose. he's capable of evil thought because of the Omega Factor (not to be confused with the Omega Radar, which atom and cobalt use to find each other), which his creator also wants to put in atom, so that they can help him get revenge on colonial/imperialist society (one of tezuka's semi-successful attempts at commenting on systemic racism). its implied that atlas is capable of good, too, he just hasn't been introduced to it. he gets fucking disintegrated btw.

that serves as a very good intro ramp before the Blue Knight Saga and its approaches to good amd evil, and tezuka's preferred order puts it shortly before, likely for that reason. I'm not sure how to feel about the idea that atom isn't capable of evil, and what that might say abt how "advanced" he is- i like to think he's capable of evil, and actively chooses to be good, but whatever. also im just gonna say it this design is ugly as fuck lol

80s was fun. kinda fused atlas and blue knight into the same character? ive never gotten the chance to see the anime episode with small atlas, so i only know his lore from the 80s comics, which i bet is different and siller. he's like atom, except he needed a special 8th power, and his creator decided that would be pissing on things to blow them up? "Like a cicada"? ok . he drank ink once. i love him. hes like jetter mars to me. anyway. as an adult in the anime he did surprisingly well as a long-term antagonist for astro. it's hard to take that damn show stylishly, but i did cry in the finale when atlas declared himself atoms brother. i liked the idea that they were going for, where the two have a lot in common both physically and mentally, and this omega radar ties them to each other unendingly, but atlas will always have a grudge against humans and atom will always love them? that's great. but i feel like they didn't explore it much, and a lot of it was just Come Fight Me I Fucking Dare You (maybe also to mix in Pluto with atlas and bk? saving on voice actors lmao). and i don't even know what was going on with Livian. shrug. congrats to atlas for having a third boob added though!

now 2003. OUGH 2003 did so nicely as an addition of previous atlases. they kind of departed a little bit from previous versions by having him be, for instance, a creation of tenma, but i don't dislike how they used that change. the way they took the "im just like you" thread that they started on with 80s and amped it up by making atlas not only the second robot ever to be made with the same heart/adaptability as atom, but also to be ANOTHER desperate failed father's attempt at fixing his mistakes, resulting in a new person coming out of the ghost of his neglected son?? he's not just atom's foil to the viewer, he's atom's foil to tenma. he leads up perfectly as the step before Pluto (before Shadow) and before Blue Knight in introducing robots capable of evil to society, in introducing robots who don't want to be nice to atom, and in developing tenma's obsession with evolving atom to greater lengths. here's a vengeful robot with the memories of a vengeful son. here's a robot too powerful for atom to fight without, somehow, growing. here's a victim of the growing anti-AI tide. here's someone who's just like you, here to warn you that something bigger is coming.

Medieval Fantasy AU

So I finally finished typing and tweaking their backstories for all the characters in this AU story of mine. Have fun reading them and I hope you like them too:

Princess Livian (”The Princess Knight”/ Battle Princess) 

Livian is the beautiful, sweet, kind hearted daughter of the king in queen in their small kingdom. She is a very smart, creative and intelligent young lady that loves to travel in and out of her kingdom. When she’s not out and about of her kingdom, the young princess is helping others around town, drawing or practicing her sword/ fighting skills with the help of Lady Epsilon. Besides her kind warm heart, creativity and intelligence Lady Livian was a VERY beautiful and attractive young lady. Lady Livian had beautiful crystal blue eyes, beautiful natural ombre hair, soft glossy pink lips, fair peachy skin and cute slightly rosy cheeks.The princess’s beauty had a tendency to cause handsome young men to woo, blush sigh and flirt with her. The young princess would blush a little herself when they did so to her, but being the kind sweet soul she was , she’d turn them down politely saying that protecting her people and helping the kingdom was her number one priority. Though she was a princess, she's not all she seems to be....Though Livian may be very elegant, refined, delicate and beautiful she was secretly the badass female knight/ battle princess known by all as “The Princess Knight” that travels throughout the land to protect her kingdom, other towns, lands and innocent people. She wears beautiful Purple and Lilac amour and decorates her face in gold markings, she does so to protect her identity and rides on the back of a beautiful light grey Mare. No one in her kingdom or elsewhere knows that Livian is the battle princess (No one except for her close friend and lady in waiting, Epsilon- she is like a sister to her). 

Prince Daichi ( “Sir Atlas” / The vigilante Red Knight)

Daichi (AKA Atlas) is the dashingly handsome and irresistible prince. He in the past had some issues with his father, but now he is next in line to become king. His father’s only wish now is for his son to find himself a beautiful young woman and to marry her. Of course the prince couldn’t help that he was VERY attractive, what girl wouldn’t fall for his well sculpted body, his strong masculine physique, long red hair and beautiful blue eyes?...  Though he got this attention, he would politely turn them down, Daichi (Sir Atlas) wanted to find a woman that wasn’t afraid to be herself and one like no other.Besides being VERY attractive The young prince was very skilled in fighting and swordsmanship, he was unbeatable in all tournaments he'd participated in over the years. His power and skills were immaculate. Those who duelled against him respected the prince for his skills and abilities. Over time his skills lead him to become a badass vigilante, He wore unique red armour, decorated his face with green markings and rode a beautiful white stallion bringing upon justice in his own hands to rid the wrong throughout his kingdom and other lands. Though he saved and protected innocent people, this young dashing knight came off a little bit cold and aloof. The red knight claimed himself as "Sir Atlas", no one knew his true identity and though he came off a little cold and stern they were grateful of his services to the Kingdom and all the lands. When he wasn’t off protecting the kingdom as “Sir Atlas, the young prince spent time drawing and painting- he was very artistic. And when he wasn’t drawing he would spend time with his young friend and close advisor Astro- the two had a close brotherly relationship with one another- Astro was the only one who knew the prince’s secret of being “Sir Atlas”.

Young Advisor Astro (“The little Knight”)

Astro is "Sir Atlas’s" (prince Daichi's) young advisor and close friend. He and his young sister maiden Uran live in the same kingdom as the prince. Astro is the only one who knows about Prince Daichi's secret of being "the vigilante red knight" Sir Atlas and his love for the beautiful princess knight (Livian). Astro and the young prince have a close brotherly relationship and tend to help and support one another a lot. Occasionally the prince teaches his young advisor swordplay and fighting skills, Astro over time has become very good- nearly just as good as the prince himself.Astro also knows the true identity of "the Princess knight" as his good friend Lady in waiting Epsilon from the other kingdom had told him. But he kept his promise and hasn't told the prince at all. In return Astro had told her that the prince was “Sir Atlas”, of course though Epsilon already had a hunch. He only hopes that one day Sir Atlas and the Princess Knight reveal themselves to each other and one day get married and live together forever, watching over and protecting both kingdoms and the other lands.Over time after Sir Atlas and the Princess Knight reveal themselves to their kingdoms and the Knight squad was properly Knighted by the king and queen, Astro and his friend Epsilon join the squad themselves.

Young Maiden Uran (“The cheeky young Maiden”)

The young maiden Uran is advisor Astro’s little sister. She is very cute and sweet. But has a tendency to be cheeky and get herself in a little bit of trouble, especially went she pulls pranks on her big brother and the prince.When she’s not annoying her brother or cheekily pulling pranks on him and the prince, Uran like to spend time with her animal friends- Houdini especially. The young maiden was born with the gift of communicating to the wildlife. She is good friends with Princess Livian and Lady Epsilon- they tend to look after her or spend girl time with her- though she has no idea that Livian is the “Princess knight” or that Epsilon is the “Weather mage”.Uran is a big fan of the Princess knight and dreams of becoming her friend though she has no clue that she is already friends with her) and to one day be just like her.Only recently she met the strong brave knight Sir Pluto and now befriended him, though he may be large masculine and a little intimidating- Uran is one of the few that know he’s really a big softie and friendly guy.

Sir Pluto (“ The wild warrior”)

Sir Pluto was a very large masculine bulky knight, he had long dark hair, his face decorated in unique red markings, wore intimidating looking armour and carried around a large mace. He was a very nobleman and served the kingdom well. In his past Sir Pluto was led down a dark path  and nearly did something he’d regret, but luckily in that moment something clicked- Sir Pluto became the nobleman he is today. The hunky gallant Knight travelled the lands and upright holding his knighthood by defending the people and their towns from harm and wrong doers. Though he was a good man, he was kinda lonely- His intimidating and bulky masculine figure seemed to scare and frighten people, though this bothered him a little he continued to do good and hoped that one day he would make friends. Though during his travels he met the “Princess Knight” and the “Sir Atlas”, they befriended Sir Pluto and welcomed him to their Knight squad where they would travel the lands and protect the kingdom.Over the time he spent in the knight squad, Sir Atlas eventually revealed his identity to Sir Pluto and asked only of him to not tell the Princess knight for she and him would one day reveal their true identities when the time was right. He kept his promise sincere and hasn’t told her yet and has no intention in doing so.

Sir Hercules (“The glorious Gladiator”)

Sir Hercules was yet another brave valiant knight who fought for justice and commonly participated in a lot of jousting tournaments. Sir Hercules was tall, had a strong bulky and masculine figure. He wore gold and white armour and his weapon of choice of course was his lance- Hercules was well known across the lands for bringing his foes to their knees with his skills and abilities. The valiant gladiator also had a tendency to never turn down a challenge- and those who dared to throw down the gauntlet at him (mostly foes and thugs) soon lived to regret doing so, especially when he pinned them to the ground with his lance ever so close to their face. Along his travels the brave gladiator had heard tales and stories of a small squad of knights, two of which were the well-known “Princess Knight” and “sir Atlas”. He was determined to find these magnificent knights and offer his services to fight alongside them. After one of his jousting tournaments up in the mountains in a nearby small village, Hercules and the knight squad both caught a glimpse of each other. The kind hearted “Princess Knight ran up to him and insisted he join their squad of valiant knights. With no hesitation Hercules accepted, Sir Atlas and Sir Pluto welcomed him to their Knight squad where they would travel the lands and protect the kingdom.Over the time he spent in the knight squad, Sir Atlas eventually revealed his identity to Sir Hercules and asked only of him to not tell the Princess knight for she and him would one day reveal their true identities when the time was right. He kept his promise sincere and hasn’t told her yet and has no intention in doing so.

Blue Knight (“Blue Bon”)

Blue Knight was the last of the knights to join the valiant knight squad. Before he was a knight, Blue was a well- known black smith that was forced to do repairs under the eye and wrath of a cruel man. After becoming disgruntled with the way he was treated and the way his boss treated other people, the blacksmith took a stand and became the gallant and hunky masked “Blue Knight”, the warrior of justice and the hero that would protect the lands from people like his former boss.Blue knight was a vigilante riding through villages and towns bringing upon the justice those horrid wrong doers that dared to step out of line and attack the innocent. The knight squad had heard of the Blue Knight and his noble deeds of justice. So the squad had set out on a quest to find and recruit him. After many days of travelling throughout the lands, the knight squad had found the Heroic handsome Blue Knight. “The Princess Knight” (Princess Livian) ran towards him calling out to him, he turned his head and looked over his shoulder, then quickly turned away- he came off a little cold at first but the Princess Knight was determined to get him to join their squad- so she quickly ran in front of him and got his attention now. After talking it out with the Princess Knight, the Blue knight nodded his head and agreed to join their squad- of course he apologised for his cold behaviour before as he was still having thoughts of his past crossing his mind. He was welcomed into their Knight squad where they would travel the lands and protect the kingdom.Over the time he spent in the knight squad, Sir Atlas eventually revealed his identity to Sir Hercules and asked only of him to not tell the Princess knight for she and him would one day reveal their true identities when the time was right. He kept his promise sincere and hasn’t told her yet and has no intention in doing so.

Lady in waiting Epsilon (“The mystical weather mage”)

Lady in waiting Epsilon was Princess Livian's closest childhood friend, the two grew up together in the castle- as a baby she was left at the castle gates by a wise mage. The Queen had found the young infant and in agreement with the king took her under their wing and raised the young girl as their own- Epsilon was cared for and loved dearly. Eventually two years later the queen had fallen and had brought a child into the world (Princess Livian) Epsilon was like an older sister to the young girl, she protected her and guided her like one. In return the young Princess Livian saw Epsilon like a sister too. As Epsilon grew up the king and queen learnt that she was a mage, they kindly found her a wise old mage who taught her how to use her abilities to protect people and control weather.When she and the Princess had grown into beautiful young women- Epsilon became a lady in waiting- she was treated equally to the princess and the two had a very close sisterly relationship. After her friend Livian became the “Princess Knight”, Epsilon worked alongside her as the beautiful badass mage- she would look after and protect the kingdom with her weather abilities when the Princess had left town to protect other towns and villages.Besides being a badass mage, Epsilon was a bit of a swords woman herself like Livian but she wasn't a knight she preferred to be the intel woman instead. She knew about Livian's secret being the Princess knight and had kept her promise and told no one in town. The only person she had told was her close friend young Advisor Astro, only they know the truth about the prince and princess being badass knights. Lady in waiting Epsilon hopes that Livian will one day find the courage to open her heart and reveal her identity to the prince. She and Astro just want to see the two of them happy together.

Young Mage Tamami (“The healer mage”)

Tamami aka "The Lady of the lake" is a magical healer mage who lives in a small cottage on an island in the middle of the lake. With her gift of healing Tamami had saved and healed many injured and sick. Her healing powers work strongest when she stands within the lake itself. She was taught how to properly use her abilities and powers by a kind old healing wizard, who considered Tamami as his own daughter. As Tamami grew up she felt a little lonesome, thus one day the wizard came back home with a small fluffy green haired boy called Denkou (he was only an infant at the time and Tamami was roughly five) - The wizard had rescued the young boy and adopted him. She soon found herself to be an older sister to a cute cheeky and sometimes clumsy little adopted fluffy green haired boy. Over time she became a very powerful healing mage- everyone in the kingdom soon knew about her and many from far and wide came to her for medical treatment. One late evening, there was a knock at their small cottage home door, She and her little brother met the knight squad after they came rushing in asking her kindly to heal the princess knight after she was seriously injured and passed out unconscious from fighting these dangerous bandit criminals and protecting the man she loved (Sir Atlas). Here Sir Atlas had shockingly found out the true identity of his Princess Knight when he removed her armour for Tamami to heal her in the small rehabilitation pool. Healer Tamami also had the gift of knowing all, so she already knew the identities of both the prince and princess when they entered the lake. Luckily Tamami had saved the Princess Knight, Livian was grateful to Tamami and the two became good friends. Healer mage Tamami became a close ally to the Knight Squad.

Little magic boy Denkou (“The healer in training”)

Denkou is Tamami's little adopted brother, the kind old healing wizard adopted him when he was only a young infant and Tamami has always been a good kind loving older sister to Denkou. Denkou is a cute little cheeky and sometimes clumsy little bean, he has a tendency to make friends easily.As he grew up the wizard learnt that the young child had magical powers too, he had the ability to turn invisible. Sometimes Denkou would be cheeky and use his invisibility to sneak up on people near the lake and startle them.Though he also has a little bit of a love for shiny treasures and jewellery, Denkou likes to learn about healing, he wants to help people like Tamami. Though he was still learning how to use healing magic, Tamami would encourage him and help him out when he didn’t understand something. When he met the knight squad after they came seeking aid and his older sister had healed Princess Livian he instantly befriended the other knights and the princess herself after she awoke from being unconscious. Of course though when he was properly introduced to Sir Atlas, Denkou  couldn't help himself but be cheeky to the prince and pull a silly face at him. Tamami of course said it was just her brother’s way marking friends. Luckily the prince was use to his young advisor's little sister and her cheekiness every time she pulled silly faces at him. Denkou, like his sister, became a good ally and friend to the Knight squad, eventually over time he became friends with Advisor Astro, maiden Uran and Lady in waiting Epsilon.

Last song stuck in my head: Playing with Fire  by BlackPink (I don’t even like them that much, that song is just SUPER catchy) and Very Nice by Seventeen (DK has a lot of lines and I love each and everyone of those precious boys)

What I’m wearing right now: Houston Texans sweatpants, and an old 5k t-shirt my dad gave me when he stopped being able to fit into it.

Why I chose my url: I was watching vine (When it was still alive and well) and I saw KingBach do a vine where he did a backflip and said, “But that backflip tho” and I was like lols, “But That Fangurl Tho” and it stuck... 

What did your last relationship teach you?: If you’re unhappy with someone, make sure they know, even if it makes you extremely uncomfortable (Like myself, I hate certain confrontation). Your happiness does not come last (even though I gain happiness by making others happy).

Religious or spiritual: I am religious. Jesus is my lord and savior, and I will do my best to partake in actions that show his love through me. 

Favorite color: I usually ask people which color do I wear everyday without knowing, and they all said Blue denium, or Black. So I’m guessing that my favorite color is Dark blue or black (don’t come at me with the white and gold stuff)

Average hours of sleep: School year: 5 hours max

summer: anywhere from 2 to 14 hours of sleep (I kinda slept 14 hours last night, so I am wide awake now)

Lucky number: 5 (i don’t know, I was in a cake walk and I would always land on the number 5, and that was the number that was most called that day, so I guess 5)

Favorite character: Miyuki Kazuya from Diamond no Ace, Soo Ho Rang from Hwarang (kdrama) , and Mark from Dream Knight (He’s also in GOT7, but he’s not my bias, I just love his character in the cringey webdrama that they did)

Number of blankets I sleep with: 2-3 (my dad loves to crank up the fans in our house, and I also have anxiety, which if I sleep in a really cold room with a lot of blankets it helps with that kinda stuff, so I usually do 2-3, yes, even in the summer when it’s a whopping 92 degrees Fahrenheit).

Dream job: (Just recently figured this out for sure) English Language Teacher, in any non-English speaking country, specifically Korea. OR anything to do with music.

Haha, Halloween is very easy. Though I’ve by no means understood the principles when it falls on a weekday, and like all depressing British whingers I resent its bizarre enlargement from a number of hours of hiding from disagreeable infants into a whole sodding month of pumpkins and garbage horror. So with that in thoughts, let’s have a spooooky Unknown Pleasures!

Vox Machinae £19.49 / 20.99€ / $24.99, Early Entry

A mech shooter is such an apparent match for VR that I’m somewhat shocked we’re not inundated with them. Even should you accurately have little interest in VR although, Vox Machinae is value contemplating. It primarily does what you in all probability already assumed: gamers pilot completely different courses of mech (the distinction being their steadiness of mobility, firepower and armour – there aren’t any help roles), decide their lasers/rockets/cannons, and exit in groups to robo-kick every others’ computo-faces in.
