LITA AU - mechanic Phayu flirting with pit bunny Rain

Love in the Air AU: Phayu is used to pit bunnies being pretty, flirty, sweet. He's never met one so bratty.

(I'm super into Rain's bratness, but even more into Phayu's brat-tamerness and I also 0 knowledge of street races, illegal or otherwise, and this rambling depicts pit bunnies as people who have been hired to help host/entertain racers. Imagine them like Hooters waitresses.)

Phayu has been around pit bunnies as long as he's been a mechanic. Some pit bunnies belong to specific racers, but more of them are hired by Pakin's men to host. The pit bunnies play nice with the big shots, the best spenders. They fetch drinks and flirt and bat their eyes because rich, cocky men place much bigger bets when they want to impress the pretty young thing at their side. Phayu thinks he's on good or at least neutral terms with all of them. He doesn't have much reason to interact with them, but none have ever been rude to him.

Until a new pit bunny comes along.

Phayu catches sight of him sometimes; he's one of the only boy pit bunnies at these races and he wears shorts so tight that it's hard to not notice him. Phayu tries to be as distant as possible, know as little as possible, so he never goes out of his way to say hi, despite appreciating the boy's smooth legs and the brief ideas of those legs wrapped around his waist.

The pit bunny is pretty, but that's nothing special. Phayu has sweet, pretty boys already at his beck and call.

But mouthy, pretty boys are a little more fun.

Phayu has to visit one of the few stands that sells food. He gets free drinks as someone who technically works the races and it's an especially warm night. He gets a water and a sports drink and turns to head back to his tent, when someone collides with his side.

"Oh son of a bitch!"

And Phayu is hot and tired and covered in sweat and now some sticky alcoholic drink, and this guy should be apologizing, so he snaps back "manners."

"Oh son of a bitch, please and thank you."

Phayu snap his eyes to this little brat to see a pout so endearing, it almost makes him smile. But he's not going to smile because-

"You ran into me," Phayu tells him in a stern tone, "because you weren't paying attention. You owe me an apology."

The pit bunny flushes and crosses his arms over his crop top. His exposed stomach is smooth and taut and pierced. "Well you were in my way."

Phayu's teeth ache with the desire to bite the attitude out of this boy. "What's your name?"

"Rain. What's yours?"

The lack of honorific is not lost on either of them. "Phayu, I'm the senior mechanic covered in your drinks."

"Then maybe you should replace them?"

Phayu folds his arms and something in him preens as Rain eyes his biceps. They're both standing with their arms folded, but it's so different. Phayu is tall and straight, unimpressed expression with a single raised brow, while Rain has hip cocked down and head tilted in faux innocence. Still with that pretty pout on his lips.

"How about I teach you manners?"

Rain opens his mouth in what is sure to be a hissy snap, but he's jostled forward by someone walking too close behind him. More of his drinks slosh over the rims and Phayu remembers they're still in the busiest part of the race, swimming with people moving all around them.

It breaks the little spell around them. Rain shakes his head and when he looks at Phayu again, he is more bashful. "I'm sorry, phi." He says even though it's clear he doesn't want to. "I would help you clean up, but Stop and his friend are going to be pretty pissed if I take any longer with their drinks." Rain gestures to his two semi empty drinks. "But maybe you can teach me better manners next time?" He bats his eyes and bites his lip and Phayu is hit by how effective pit bunnies can be because that look makes Phayu want to do very reckless things.

And then Rain is gone, off to fetch drinks for whatever racer or big shot he's been tagging.

Phayu thinks about that for days, the pout and the snark and the long lashes that would look so much prettier with tears clinging to them.

He doesn't seek Rain out again though, Phayu still has to be responsible and professional.

Rain does not.

Within a week, Rain finds Phayu's tent and makes a reason to be there, saying he has a message from a racer that the mechanics need to use a specific oil for his bike.

And Phayu's about to roll his eyes and say he knows how to be a damn mechanic, but Rain is leaning over one of the bikes like he belongs there, confident and uncaring of where he sprawls.

Brattiest brat Phayu has come across in a while. "Get off of my bikes."

"Why?"

"You don't have permission," Phayu stalks closer, but Rain doesn't straighten, still bent over and looking up at him through those damn lashes, "to touch them."

"What if I ask really nicely?" Rain doesn't drop his eyes. "What if I said pretty please?"

"You can do better than that."

But then a new bike is getting brought in and Phayu is getting called over and he really shouldn't be this wound up at work, so he tries to ignore it.

Rain keeps seeking him out, with a smart mouth and rolling eyes and a voice that really should be gagged. It's Rain finding him, starting shit where Phayu should be more composed, where Phayu really can't do anything. He could probably tell someone in charge and use his favoritism to keep Rain away from him, but Phayu doesn't want Rain to stay away. He wants Rain somewhere other than his job where he can finally spank the boy.

Until it builds and one day Rain is in his tent, perched on a table and skewing all of his organized tools and when Phayu scolds him, Rain blinks and says "what are you going to do about it?"

And Phayu has had it and he marches over and grabs Rain's chin and snarls, "I'm going to take you home tonight and spank your ass until it bruises."

And Rain all but melts. "About damn time."

Payu’s racing suit: A masterclass in foreplay and kink exploration

One helluva title, huh? Well listen, I’ve been cursed with a great attention to detail (the notes app is sick of me atp) and an even greater desire to share so here we are. Wanna come along for the ride?

It's race day and this is the first time we get to see Payu in his gear, hence this very important full-body shot for which audience is quite grateful (I took the liberty of speaking for all of us, but if you disagree, remember that denial is a river in Egypt 😌). Though we will come to see later on, that no one is as grateful as Rain.

One thing about Rain, he's going to brat. And as amused as Payu is, he's going to nip it right in the bud (hair tousle, my beloved 😭). That aside, we know that Payu is almost always in tune with Rain, and he can clearly see that baby boy is more than loving how he looks in his racing gear. And Rain saying that his suit is cool a second time gives Payu the confirmation he needs, and an opening for foreplay and the exploration of Rain's budding cosplay kink.

Now despite rendering Rain parched and speechless at that thought of him stripping out of his gear, leave it to Payu to take it to the next level.

Rain is visibly excited. And although he has not verbally responded, his body language is speaking volumes, even if at this point he doesn't fully get what Payu is implying.

Payu has essentially given Rain the permission to dress him within the boundaries of cosplay, and confirms this by asking Rain to help with putting on his gloves.

Now I'd like to think the purpose of Payu's request two-fold: (1) to show (just the audience atp because Rain doesn't understand what's happening yet) that he’s noticed the beginnings of Rain's kink and (2) to engage another one of Rain's senses as he continues their foreplay. So far there's been sight, sound, smell, and now Payu has added touch.

We all know that Payu probably entertained the idea of having Rain go full-contact right in the middle of the garage, but he still has a race to win so the gloves will have to do for now.

The race is over and Payu has fulfilled his promise to Rain: he has claimed victory unscathed. And now Payu is looking forward to his reward: reaping the benefits all of that glorious foreplay.

By the time they get home, Rain is damn near feral. He’s so turned on that even Payu is pleasantly surprised. And honestly can we blame Rain? We’ve established that Payu looks hot in his racing gear, but he looks even hotter winning in his racing gear. The latter is not lost on Rain and it’s showing in the way he’s kissing and touching Payu.

Ah yes, the touching … let's focus on that.

As they’re kissing, Rain’s hand glides along Payu’s side, pulling him close, and lingering for a bit to feel the fit and structure of the suit against Payu's body — the smooth feel of the elbow pad and the grain of the leather on Payu’s ass.

Side note: I find it fascinating that Payu starts mirroring Rain’s movements for a bit. I don’t know whether they’re just really locked in and hot for each other or it’s meant to be a form of subconscious reassurance for Rain (both. both is good.), but whatever it is seems to be working because Rain’s energy is at 1000%.

Baby boy is so lost in the sauce that even palms and strokes Payu through the suit (he really said "all hands on di—" I'm sorry lol), later pulling him close to feel the full weight of all of that leather on his body.

Now, we could say that this is just the way people touch each other while in the midst of a pre-sex make out session, but that is not the case here. Payu can feel the difference and remarks on it, continuing their earlier conversation at the garage.

Another side note: Imagine being so in tune and obsessed with your partner that you're able to continue conversations hours later as if the passage of time doesn’t exist. Absolute insanity.

Anyway~ naked and deep in throes of passion, it's at this point they switch gears for a bit (pun intended) with it being Rain's turn to do the talking.

From the garage up until now, Payu has a created a safe space for Rain to release his inhibitions (s/o to my girl Natasha Bedingfield 🎶) and explore this new side of himself. And while that's true, the rules established in their D/s relationship are still in place. One of them is no swearing. But Rain is feeling carefree and especially bratty, so he levels up the dirty talk, adding some profanity to spice things up.

They both know that a punishment is inevitable, but there's some nuance involved. Rain is the midst of self-discovery, so Payu opts for a less severe punishment for the swearing. He bites Rain's lips, but he does it with degree of playfulness that encourages Rain to continue. Without the swearing, of course.

Taking the hint and most importantly, staying on theme (i.e. riding Payu like a finely-tuned motorcycle … again, I'm sorry lol), Rain takes over both verbally and physically, and it is absolutely doing it for Payu.

In fact, Payu is so pleased that he offers Rain a lifetime subscription of free riding lessons. All jokes aside, the way that Payu responds (in that he mirrors Rain's word choice) shows that he is enjoying this cosplay scene just as much as Rain.

Thoroughly spent and content after crossing yet another finish line for the day, Payu reassures and encourages Rain once more. And in turn, Rain checks in with Payu confirming that everything was enjoyable for the both of them.

Communication? We love to see it.

Even while basking in the afterglow of their bisexually-lit post-coital bliss, that race suit is still on Rain's mind. Again, can we really blame him? He realizes that the cosplay aspect of it is something that he likes. And although things seemed to come naturally to him, this is still very much uncharted territory for Rain. Payu acknowledges this and provides aftercare in the form of teasing encouragement, promising to purchase a few costumes for later cosplay sessions.

Rain may not be ready to fully accept his newfound kink, but knows that he can explore it further with Payu whenever he's ready. And the open and consistent communication they've had during this time will help them build a solid foundation to do that.

Sky and Pai

Pai sells his condo immediately after the assault in ep 13 and buys a new, larger one in a high security building.

Pai loves seeing Sky cry. Not in a mean way- tears of happiness absolutely preferred- but he is deeply touched that Sky has recovered to a point where he is now able to cry again.

Sky's father realized Sky was gay after the assault by his ex in high school, but they never talked about it. Sky was scared to bring Pai home because he didn't know how his father would react.

Sky's dad knew the moment he brought Pai home that they were dating. He asked Pai to take good care of his son and always accepted Pai as a son-in-law. He loves seeing how well Pai takes care of Sky.

Pai doesn't like Sky being around his (Pai's) family PURELY because they're obsessed with Sky, and he ends up completely kidnapped by them (Golfing with dad, shopping with mom, galleries with the siblings, etc.).

Sky resists moving in with Pai throughout his university days, just to be closer to school during high-stress times. Still, Pai's condo is their main residence.

If Sky is put in danger by his new friendship with Graf (Pakin's boyfriend, who is frequently targeted by Pakin's enemies), either Sky is taken immediately to Pai, or Pai brought immediately to him.

Sky does not believe he's attractive or cute (even though Pai tells him he is CONSTANTLY), but he is damn well aware he's amazing in bed and confident in that.

If Pai and Sky are apart for more than 2 weeks (because of Sky's work or Pai's business trips), they both start going a bit mental (leading to a very hot video chat).

Sky and Pai get married around 8 years after the events in Love in the Air.

Sky is now a professor of architecture at his old university.

Sky and Pai babysit Pai's niece/nephew, but don't want kids of their own (though they leave that as an 'unless we change our minds' kind of thing).

The vows they use in "Wedding Plan" are actually lines Pai says to Sky that Sky later paints into a portrait of Pai with his bike.

The wedding planning service they use in "Wedding Plan" is one Pai approached first to plan a surprise anime-themed birthday party for Sky.

Rain and Payu

Payu told his mom about Rain after their first night together, and he and Saifah both shared stories about him, but no one ever told Rain.

Rain wanders downstairs in his undies one night and Payu's mom is just THERE. She pretends not to know who he is and disapprove of him while force-feeding him porridge... she and Payu are the exact same flavor of tricksters who enjoy seeing Rain anxious.

Strict no-sex-outside-of-the-bedroom rule put in place by Rain because Saifah once caught Rain riding Payu on the sofa and teased him for days.

Rain is not afraid to stand his ground and put Payu in his place if he thinks his man is wrong. He may leave the fight for morning, but he won't bend if he doesn't agree.

Rain ends up working for a top architecture firm (maybe the one Payu used to work for, unclear) and takes on bigger and bigger projects.

Two years after starting his own firm, Payu asks Rain to come be his work partner (he asked before the firm opened, but Rain wanted to gain experience so he could be Payu's equal).

Payu cried when Rain agreed to come work with him because they were both so busy that they barely saw each other anymore. Now, no matter how busy they are, they will still be together.

Rain and Sky

Rain blames himself in part for Sky being assaulted again by his ex, and won't leave Sky's side at races unless Pai is there.

Rain and Sky still hang out constantly and are thick as thieves.

They befriend Pakin's boyfriend Graf (at Pakin's threat/request), and Pakin softens towards them somewhat in gratitude.

Rain is nearly stabbed in a bathroom by someone who mistakes him for Graf. He's saved by Sky and Chai (who was secretly following).

Rain and Sky frequent the races and bring their own snacks and candy, every guard and repeat guests know them and greet them on sight.

Thanks to Sky and Rain, the dangerous, illegal, underground street races have more of a carnival atmosphere. Pakin doesn't care, so long as the rules aren't broken.

Pai and Payu

Still involved with the races, no matter how busy they get with work.

As much as Sky and Rain hang out, Pai and Payu also meet up in their spare time with others who are or were involved with the races (mostly former top racer Oat).

If Pai wants to plan a surprise for Sky, he will go to Payu's house and borrow Rain to help scheme.

Payu is the official-unofficial tutor of the young ones. If Sky seems to be struggling with a concept and stressed out, Pai will call Payu for help.

Payu and Pai both leave Sky and Rain plenty of space to be individuals. All of them have their own friends and go places they want to go, then come tell their partner about their adventures.

So much to be said about the infamous "riding" scene. One of my favorite parts is how absolutely wrecked Phayu looks. It's an element we don't get to see often.
