Oh Anon! I have a TON of fave couples! Here are 10 of my all time fave couples off the top of my head. Of course I could keep going lol.

Nubsib and Gene from Lovely Writer. I love them to bits and pieces. Gene is one of my most favorite BL characters and I love him so much. I love how much Nubsib babies Gene even tho Gene is almost 6 yrs older than Gene. I love that Gene took such good care of Nubsib when they were boys and now Nubsib takes care of Gene...also I love that Nubsib highkey finds everyone else besides Gene annoying.

Kang Seo Joon and Han Ji Woo from To My Star. My dysfunctional boys. Seo Joon is just a sweet pupper who loves to cling to his black cat boyfriend Ji Woo. I think it's sweet that they both work so hard to protect each other. Ji Woo is so bad a communicating and Seo Joon overshares. Seo Joon knows Ji Woo like the back of his hand and even though he won't admit it Ji Woo depends heavily on Seo Joon. They're both at ease when they're together.

Payu and Rain from Love in the Air. What can I say? Love that Rain flips between Payu's most goodest boy and an absolute brat. I love that Payu fell in love with Rain the moment he met them. I love that Payu is a lover and a mentor to Rain. I love that Rain brings so much joy and excitement into Payu's life. And I'm so glad my boys are engaged.

Cairo Lazaro and Gavreel Alarcon from the Gameboys. Ugh the epitome of young love. These boys helped me through the pandemic. It was such a treat watching Cai fall in love with Gav because Gav loved Cai the moment he met him. They share so much with each other and encourage each other and protect each other and love each other. They make me feel like long distance relationships are worth it.

Hira Kazunari and Kiyoi Sou from the Utsukushii Kare. More dysfunction. I love that Kiyoi went from wanting to be adored and untouched by all to wanting to be seen and loved as just a person by one. Kiyoi went through some of the best character growth I've ever seen and he truly helped Hira become more confident. I love that Hira would do any and everything for Kiyoi. He worships the ground Kiyoi walks on and I love that he began to find equal ground between him so he could allow himself to love and be in love and be loved by his idol.

Cha Yeowoon and Tae Myungha from Love for Love's Sake. The love I have for them is deep and strong. They made me cry. Like sobbed. They're my two sad boys who make each other happy. Love that Myungha would do anything to take care of Yeowoon and I love that Yeowoon wants to protect Myungha...and also smooch him all the time. They found their happiness with each other and can live in that happiness eternally.

Phaya and Tharn from The Sign. SOULMATES! OTHERWORLDLY BEINGS ! SOULMATES! OTHERWORLDLY BEINGS! Love how instantly drawn to each other they were. Tharn wanted to keep Phaya safe and Phaya was looking for his truth in Tharn. There's just something about a couple whose love transcends time and death and reincarnation.

Uncle Jim and Wen from Moonlight Chicken. I loved the tension between them. I love how determined Wen was to be with Jim, he saw that man and was like 'He's my Daddy forever'. I love the soft spot Jim had for Wen, he couldn't deny him anything no matter how hard he tried...no matter how utterly MESSY Wen was. I love that Li Ming could confide in Wen when he couldn't talk to Jim. I love that JimWen maintained high sexual chemistry even tho Jim was playing hard to get.

Pluem and Kevin from Ghost Host Ghost House. I love everything about them. I love that Pluem was immediately taken with Kevin and I love that he wasn't shy about it. Gawd he was so flirty. I love how easily Kevin gravitated to Pluem because he liked him back. They had such a sweet lil summer romance and I know people were mad about their breakup and time jump but I will defend those events with my life! It was necessary!

Zhou Shu Yi and Gao Shi De from We Best Love. I love Shi De's manipulative ass. I love that he decided the best way to be relevant in Shu Yi's life was to one-up him in everything. I love how earnest Shu Yi was, my boy was practically incapable of lying. I love that Shi De did so much to be a constant in Shu Yi life but was still too fearful to confess. Also I'm glad that Shu Yi didn't immediately take Shi De back. I'm glad he held Shi De and his father accountable.

Ironically, after taking me out of years of kdrama slump, Lovely Runner is going to leave me with a worse slump sniff. This might even surpass any romance kdrama I've watched before as it's focused on the romance first and it didn't go off the rails on the 2nd half. Ryu Sun Jae, pls take responsibility, chuseyo.

Guys I'm still so not over it. As part of "Kidnap Sun Jae and Run" Addicts Anonymous, let me help you cope through this 10 step program:

1. Play OST nonstop

"I Think I Did" and "Sonaki" will definitely be 'memories embedded in my soul' for playing the OST nonstop from when I wake up until I sleep.

It's going to be a tragedy if Byeon Woo Seok doesn't sing any of these live on his upcoming fanmeets. Pls pls pls k-ent gods.

2. Rewatch from the start

Undoubtedly one of my comfort watches from now on. I knew it was going to be good when near end of ep 1, Younha's iconic "Umbrella" song started playing, Sun Jae was walking towards a crying Sol, held the blue umbrella to shield her while he's getting rained on. Aww. I'm so soft for these scenes. (Deja vu to Bogum's MDBC anyone?)

3. If time is limited, watch the last 10 mins of every ep where writer-nim always saves the fireworks till the end!

In ep 2, the OG "I Think I Did" started playing, where a smiling Sol held the yellow umbrella to Sun Jae, and he hopelessly fell for her, is now going down as one of the most iconic scenes in kdrama romance. I'm usually not a fan of instacrush. But their relationship naturally developed more when they got close, during that stretch of Sun Jae's swimming injury plot.

4. For masochists like me, rewatch all the times Sol rejects Sun Jae. Ugh it hurts, but it hurts so good. A lot of rejections, but these 2 scenes...

In ep 9, when college Sol drunkenly curses Sun Jae as "pabo" for always going back to her, when she just keeps on hurting him. But he can't help himself. Sniff.

In ep 12, the setup before that train scene, where Sol asks Sun Jae not to cry when she leaves him to go back to the future. Then cut to next day on the train when she tricks Sun Jae and leaves him alone on the train, and of course Sun Jae can't keep his promise and his tears fall. Simply drama magic.

5. Rewatch the kissing scenes!

Sadly, nothing quite matched that ep 8, very hooot kiss between the 2 now adult Sun Jae and Sol. Sol discovers Sun Jae still pines for her all these years, and Sol finally admitting to him about her true feelings, the pent up feelings for 15 years in that kiss...,whew (fans self)!

6. Rewatch all my fave scenes!

That cherry blossom proposal scene is one of the most beautifully shot ones I've ever seen, glad he axed the first one lol. And a picture of the future wedding scene though imaginary for now! It's our reward for suffering for 15 eps lol.

7. Read and like all LR related posts, bts, stills, fanart.

You know it's a hit when fanart is everywhere, and I can change to a new Sun Jae-Sol wallpaper everyday and bask on the gorgeousness of BWS .

By the way, that latest clip of the live watch with the cast and where BWS is crying in gratitude sniff. He knows his life is also changed forever by this drama. Deserving! I was always intrigued by BWS's looks before, and he really surprised me with his acting, he also has great comedic timing!

It's just rare nowadays that the drama has the whole package, I love the cast and their characters too.

8. Read and like all posts related to BWS and KHY, and the cast.

Kim Hye Yoon poured her heart out on this drama, she really carried it.

I didn't get to talk about the rest of the cast yet. At first, I was getting used to some of the 'over the top' comedy, but by that condom confusion scene, I was laughing too. I love that all of the cast is just going for it even if it's bonkers crazy. But my fave has to be adult celeb Sun Jae's assistant who has this hilarious deadpan face and delivery of lines, and always has that 'tsk tsk what a loser' look of scorn towards Sun Jae, when his boss is at his most embarassing lovesick self mwahah.

9. Recommend LR to every unsuspecting person, let's spread the addiction, and destroy their lives too lol!

This is honestly a vent piece that has been literal years in the making. I have no freaking idea why, but for Years I've been constantly bombarded with reminders that a certain movie featuring a certain "comedy" ""actor"" exists and I can't fathom as to why. If it was just one instance of DeviantArt's recommendation algorithm mistaking me looking for Majora's Mask fanart as something related to it, I could understand. I'd be annoyed, but I could understand. But then it kept popping up in random Youtube videos that had literally nothing to do with that movie. It showed up in random Tumblr posts and tweets when I was still on that dumpster fire. The DA recs kept coming. My stuff was constantly getting faved by people who seemed to have taken this movie and made it into their entire personality. My mom's TV kept promoting a certain streaming app by proudly proclaiming it has (or perhaps had, if they've grown some sense and removed it already) this movie as part of its catalogue. If I had a nickel for every time I've seen poor Spamton get stuff from this movie dumped onto him, I'd have two nickels, and that's still too much because his character deserves better! It even invaded my nonogram site for crying out loud, I am not safe from this thing anywhere ;A;

So yeah, gonna put an end to all this nonsense by getting to the root of the problem! Putting this stupid mask into a wood chipper and now no one will have to be tormented by its existence ever again, least of all me! We will never again have to see some poor sap have their face turn green and all sense of decency slide right out their butt, everyone is safe from this menace forever and ever! Everyone rejoice! You're all free :D

(and before anyone who actually likes this movie comes over here to try and use in-universe technicalities to rain on my parade, I Do Not Care, this is My art and I say this mask got irreversibly shredded and whatever sawdust was left got burned afterward so it could be destroyed forever with no chance of repair, a fate it truly deserves c: )

question: what's ur top 5 kuroshitsuji moments and why?

I'm sorry for just now answering, but I do appreciate the ask! Thank you. Uhh... I've only read the manga once and probably have more, but I'll try to give five of my faves.

1. "Make them dance."

This is a reference to when Snake made it rain snakes on Sebastian in the greenhouse, and they used it again in their plan to help Sieglinde escape. I love seeing him use his own way to fight back and help those he blamed for his family's deaths. It was satisfying to watch, and I like that they have their own language.

2. Sieglinde meeting Ciel and Sebastian at night.

Simply because it's funny, and we get to know one of my favorite Kuro characters. The misunderstanding and confusion jumping to sexual assault will not be funny. I get that's not everyone's cup of tea, but Ciel showed his hands were rated E for everyone.

Also, despite being a manipulative and fake bitch who was just assaulted, I think Ciel trying to get along with her was genuine.

3. Snake reuniting with Doll

This got me feeling all sorts of feels. We knew it wouldn't last or be happy forever, but seeing him cry tears of joy gave me warm fuzzies. I was so happy for him! He even lunged at her when he used to be so quiet. Good for both of them!

4. Snake blushing in chapter 52

He's so cute! >///< One of his most adorable moments, but that's all the time. I think it's important because it's the first time someone told him to be confident and not care what other people think. It shows that Ciel cares about those who he's close to and can associate with whomever he wants.

5. Elizabeth vs. Sebastian

I'm so glad we got to see her go up against someone else and not just see her be a badass once, then never again. The fight itself, though short, was good and got me hyped. We knew she wouldn't win, but we saw her might and determination to protect someone or something. Sebastian didn't understand, and now he does.

I Asked For a List of Popular Books That Made People "Ugly Cry" - Here's What ChatGPT Gave Me

Books hardly move me nowadays.

I guess I can say the same about movies and series and it really depends how deeply I connected with the characters or the storyline.

With that said, one of my (ambitious) book goals this year is to read a book that will make me ugly cry, give me all the existential crisis, leave me with a throbbing headache from all the feelings and thoughts, and put me on a temporary reading slump because it's that good.

So far, it has only happened twice this year, minus the tears. So, I'm on the lookout for something better than good.

"A Little Life" by Hanya Yanagihara - I have second thoughts giving this another shot because it gives off sad boy vibes and I'm not really into it

"The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak - About 20% in, it started to feel dragging

"A Man Called Ove" by Fredrik Backman - I'm not sure if I care what a senior male does with his life and all the mundane hiccups he goes through

"The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" by Taylor Jenkins Reid - this put me into a rollercoaster of emotions and I was rooting for Evelyn the whole time, but I found the ending bittersweet rather than worthy of a cry. On a good note, it was emotionally distressing enough that I had to take temporary breaks for days.

"The Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger (didn't read, but watched)

"The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas" by John Boyne - This was honestly gut-wrenching, though I didn't bawl

"My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult (didn't read, but watched) - I'm not really into heavy family drama, which seems to be Picoult's genre, so it's hard for me to cry over these films. But to be fair, the book might be better than the film as they usually leave a huge chunk out of the movie adaptations

"The Help" by Kathryn Stockett - This was a redemption story in the end, and nothing in between really made me cry. The racism was more disgusting and disappointing than sad.

"The Perks of Being a Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky - I remember reading this back in high school and DNF-ing it before the term was even normalized in the book community

Suffice to say, I've never heard of these books before, but to me, that's a good thing. I love a hidden gem. A part of me takes pleasure in consuming underrated media. It's refreshing from all the hype and cult favorites I see online.

I don't think I'm actually gatekeeping these media because if people don't give them a chance even if you promote them endlessly, then that's their choice. Besides, I actually love sharing them. If I enjoyed them, I'd like to believe someone else would. But everything boils down to personal preference and we can't force anyone into liking the same things we do.

It takes a moment before Ling Wen manages to speak up. "Your Highness," she says carefully, "what did you say just now?"

"These white petals? There's got to be a hundred of them. The man just—oh yeah, there was a man—exploded into them. What's up with that?"

There's a long stretch of silence where it feels like all of Heaven is holding its breath.

Finally, Ling Wen responds. Her voice is clipped as she asks, "What do you know about the Four Calamities? Specifically, White Flower Mourns Massacre?"

Alternatively: the one where Hua Cheng is a martial god, Xie Lian is a calamity, and nobody is at all what they seem.

Jon squeezes in return before taking his hand back, his grip delicate and warm. Tim rifles through a wardrobe for two soft hoodies, paying little mind to who they belonged to - Jon was a known clothing thief who gained power from appropriating Tim and Martin’s jackets. 

By the time he’s shrugged one on and headed out into the living room, Jon is standing by the open backdoor, looking out over the heathers and hillside beyond. He looks dazed, more than anything, finding all that space stretching out in front of him, and Tim can’t tell if it’s loss or gratitude holding him there. A surge of tenderness goes through him at the sight, and Tim almost laughs at himself as he pads over to join Jon. You're going soft, Stoker, he thinks. After all that, you're going soft.

Once again, Tim sees an echo of a place they haven't quite reached: sees himself tugging the jacket around Jon's shoulders like a blanket. Instead, he hands it over and leads Jon outside to the rickety chairs. It's not hesitance holding him back exactly, and certainly not a lack of desire. It's more like…care. Care he never would have needed before.

 He drags his own chair a little closer to Jon's before he sits down, knowing Jon sees him do it, letting him note and process this intentional drawing closer. Tim used to flirt lightning-fast and joyous, instinctual, safe in the knowledge that he could fall a little in love with half the people he met, so what did rejection or awkwardness matter, really? But Jon takes things slowly these days, and Tim is relearning love as a back and forth, as goodbyes and welcomes. He is luxuriating in having time to wait and see what will come of the two of them. The three of them. 

"Martin shouldn't be long," Tim says into the silence.

"It's Saturday," Jon replies, sounding weary but fond. "He always dawdles at the markets."

"I could text him," Tim offers. "Chivy him along a bit."

Jon shakes his head. "You're…it's fine, Tim. I…I need you, too. Both of you." His voice is low and his eyes are fixed on the horizon.

i will try not to make this self-deprecating because that's no fun for anyone, but this is not one of my most-edited fics so my brain is already yelling SHOW DON'T TELL at me. the last thing i will say on this matter!

so much of this fic was just me thinking about what it would be like if tim got to have an after. any after. what would a good life for him look like that also acknowledges he's been fundamentally changed by his experiences - and knows that himself too, because tim's smart and self-aware

love concrete gestures in place of things you don't know how to say. 'i want you to be warm, i'll help take care of you, we're a team so i will take this if you take that'

'creature of effort' is a little bit harking back to one of my fave quotes by leslie jamison: 'I believe in intention and I believe in work. I believe in waking up in the middle of the night and packing our bags and leaving our worst selves for our better ones.'

i usually try to sort of apply critical thinking before simply adopting popular fanon into my own work but jon sims: clothing thief is GOOD and it can stay

also the small intimacies of living side by side, intermingled clothes, no longer feeling a need to insist on what exactly is mine or yours

i like little scaps of realism among my h/c to make the comfort even juicier, and so one of the things i nitpick myself on is not having every character just look at the other person and immediately know everything that's going on in their head - which happens partly because describing expressions is hard! so that's why tim can't 100% tell what jon is feeling in this moment

i think jon is actually thinking something like: wide open exposed space in front of me, is that safe? footsteps approaching from behind, even though i know who they belong to, is that safe? do i make myself less safe, provoking those around me, by not totally believing in this safety? do i deserve safety if i can't feel its presence? am i wasting this maybe-safe time by worrying about whether or not i deserve it?

having lots of space in front of them is obvs Metaphorical. they have a future now and that's terrifying and good. what do you do when you're alive and you never expected to be. can we endure it, the rain finally stopped?

tim's thoughts there slip into a more playful cadence - he's making jokes, even just to himself - to reinforce that that hope is still there.

again in terms of pockets of realism...a lot of times in romance things just Happen, people are just drawn in by the tide of it and find themselves doing perfect romantic things. and that's nice!! but there is something more real and kind of more romantic to me about making choices, building on small gestures, going slow because you care so much about this. you leave and then you come back, and you get them their jacket, and you hope it all says: look, i'm here, i'm trying, let's try

in my mind these little concrete offerings show how well tim knows jon, deep down. i would imagine jon as someone who doesn't always pick up on nuanced emotions exclusively communicated through words and prefers when there are actions to back them up, partly because that's the way he communicates himself. 'tim says he forgives me' is a lot harder to hold onto than 'tim brought my favourite berries back from tesco, tim brought me a jacket, tim could have sat further away but is choosing to be close'

i would very much like to YAY thank u!!! i’m gonna uh.... ramble. because i am excited to be asked. my personal list don’t take it too seriously

1. capaldi. i love him So Much. it breaks my heart so many ppl gave up before his run, or while it was still in its early stages. among dw fans who still watch the show he’s generally already considered an iconic doctor. you hear a lot of people saying they regret not appreciating him until he was gone which i 100% feel. he was a who fan his entire life (the fanmail he wrote as a teen is so cute) and he poured so much love into the role!!! maybe didn’t have the best writing at the start but he more than makes up for it with his fucking phenomenal acting ability and pure LOVE for the doctor’s character! his arc too is the most touching for me.... he’s the doctor who finally heals. he starts off so jaded and almost seems cruel. i think that’s why so many people were turned off from him initially. but, after watching his entire run, you realise that was set up for a masterful arc abt healing and kindness and learning to laugh again. the pure love between him and bill, his unrelenting faith in missy..... “laugh hard, run fast, be kind” is the best fucking dw quote don’t even LOOK at me

2. tennant. sad man runs around being sad, stands in rain, grieves over all that genocide he committed, generally looks like a kicked puppy at every given chance. we love to see it! his relationships with his companions make him so damn real, maybe the realest of all the new who doctors. i love him dearly. my favourite thing about him is that he does have terrible moments of arrogance and they’re called out and his arc is about acknowledging that he’s not all-powerful (waters of mars i loooove yoooouuu). i love to make fun of him and i also want to hug him

3. smith. funny, tumblr hates him lmao. most people i ask irl here in br*tain will either say tennant or smith as their fave in a 50/50 split (maybe favouring tennant slightly). matt was the first doctor that made me want to watch the show, age 7 and sitting down for his first ever ep :’) so he’s special to me i can’t help it!!! his first series, s5, is the most cohesive series in the whole of new who imo. it’s the series i always rec to ppl who wanna start the show bc it knows what it wants to do and generally all the episodes are mid to high tier doctor who (except the winston churchill daleks one, good fucking god). when i learnt that tennant is “the man who regrets” while smith is “the man who forgets” it helped me understand him much better.... he desperately wants to bury that past but he can’t run forever. his final episodes lose it a bit but i don’t think he deserves the distaste so many on here seem to have for him. his writing suffers from feeling a bit contrived so that’s probably part of it

4. eccelston. important thing to keep in mind is that he got only one series and in that time he made such an impression as his own doctor!!! if he had more time he’d probably be higher on my list. “just this once, everybody lives” stays in my mind RENT FREE... it sums up how painfully tired he is—the post-time war doctor, fresh with hopelessness and loss and he’s so elated to save everyone, just once, even if it never ever happens again. his hearts are so big and so are his ears :]

5. whittaker. she’s on the bottom of my list but that doesn’t mean i dislike her! i love her, actually! her first series however is the worst in the whole of new who because of its disaster writing, imo. worse than series 7, yes, bc at least series 7 had some fun episodes at the start. i seriously don’t believe that chibnall has a vision for the show, just a mish-mash of done before ideas he doesn’t know how to string together into a plot or characters that actually feel like family. but enough of chibnall, whittaker is so FUN as the doctor!!! she’s everything i wanted from a post-capaldi doctor, who ended his run choosing to be kind. whittaker continues that legacy by smiling and being a Literal Ball of Sunshine <333 although i was worried at first she wouldn’t get much depth beyond that, series 12 made my desire for her as the certified repression doctor CANON!!!! i have my issues with s12 but im so so excited for the upcoming series!

Ratchet and/or Jazz

Think I’ll do both since I think I’ll have some pretty simple thoughts on them both! Starting with Ratchet!

I actually thought he was like,, really weird, esp that first episode where he’s just like “Yeah I can program out feelings n shit” but I became soft for his backstory... Used to also not like his entire thing for Arcee...

my overall feelings were mixed I didn’t hate him but he was like,,, pretty low on my fave characters list for a while.

I love him to absolute bits! he’s so interesting!! esp since he seems to be one of the few main characters to actually kinda realize Cybertron is really bad and corrupt? That thing where they ordered him to not help an injured con and he does anyways? I fucking love that shit.I wish we’d have gotten more of him trashing Sentinel for his awful ruling of Cybertron..

I’d say now bc he’s a huge comfort character for me he’s ranking high on my favorites!

Unpopular opinion

I kinda hated him in the Wreck-Gar episode lmao, I love the idea of him being a father to Wreck-Gar and such but man what on earth happened to him?? Ratchet is a medic at heart which shows in his most gentle and kind moments!! To see his grumpiness and semi-rudeness ramped up out of nowhere just kinda made me sad =[. Also i don’t think he’s hot like at all but maybe that’s bc I’ve never gotten the appeal of crushing on elderly characters...

Favorite relationship

Him and Sari or him and Optimus but I cannot choose...

I really really love how him and Optimus have a playful relationship and when they jab at each other they both don’t take much offense. It’s also really nice to see they can talk to each other about their trauma and pasts and is something they both clearly need. I think they’ve had rocky moments in their friendship but overall their relationship is delightful to see! And I already talked about Sari n him =].

Favorite headcanon

I ask for nothing more than more content of Ratchet adopting Bee and being his dad. I Love these two as father and son.  Ratchet and him had such potential to be just the perfect ‘grumpy but also soft’ father and ‘obnoxious but caring’ son dynamic. We were robbed!!! Anyways I love Ratchet listening to Bee infodump for 6 hours about fnaf and minecraft lore while he’s trying to fix him up and Optimus eventually being like “aww Ratchet I’m so glad you’ve taken Bee under your wing =] that’s really sweet” And Ratchet dies instantly bc he never realized he did that... no matter how many times Bee has called him dad...

Bee also gets really pissy when Ratchet doesnt take care of himself bc damn it old man you can’t be doing that!! Stop drinking coffee and go to bed if Bee loses a dad over how ‘important your work is’ than he’ll never forgive u he swears. Sometimes when Ratchet or Bee have nightmares they just sleep together,,, I just.... I care them so much I have a mighty need for more content of these two....

Some of my favorite moments, I want to make a compilation Of Nothing but Jazz talking about earth and I’d have that shit on repeat like it was my new album. They are legit some of my favorite moments in the show and his interactions with Prowl,,, kinda homo and really cute...

Seeing Prowl low-key tryna flirt with and impress Jazz in show is so cute? That little allspark moment in end game? Filled with homosexual tension. Love the way they banter.

Idea for a story

Holoform Jazz and Prowl date “Hanging out” and they just walked around earth, holding hands,going to shops and eventually a restaurant and Jazz is absolutely gushing about how cool everything is... I feel like Jazz would have a coolass outfit with a scarf and shit...

um.. i dont really know where to begin tbh? i mean you cant really talk about any of these characters without talking abt the other two so.... this is gonna be long.

so lets take shiori, who has a very classic case of internalized homophobia. which is confirmed by ikuhahras outtake on ep. 17 which states the following

 “I finally realized the truth. To think that she loved me back! What a miracle! But...‘The loser in love is the one who lets their heart be ruled by it.’Everyone's adopted a provocative attitude toward someone of the opposite sex that they like at least once or twice, to get that person to notice them. So it's okay if I do that.This love will crumble if we touch. But when people don't touch, the love eventually dies away .That's why I decided to keep your love prisoner. To make sure that you love me forever. That game will make our love ‘eternal.’ I'm sure of it.We were ‘lovers lost from the beginning.”

so shioris in love with juri. im not sure if thats something u caught onto or not but its definitely the quintessence of her character, and needs to be considered when we consider her against ruka- since its a shared affection. also, i just like shiori, i dont necessarily think shes GOOD i just enjoy watching her and she feels very raw. shiori has a crippling inferiority complex, you can even tell through off handed conversations with her friends in hallways she exaggerates her stories to be more liked. juri is someone who has things come easy to her, and doesnt even really seem to care or notice. in the shows canon shes: liked by the student body, liked by teachers, admired by men (and girls too), academically inclined, good at bowling, captain of fencing club (and likely the most talented duelist- since shes the only one utena never properly beats) and a MODEL?????????? and shiori, at least in her own eyes, is painfully mundane. growing up next to someone who seems to have everything go in their favor, all of the while youre harboring having feelings for them (and jealous that youre among SO many suitors) is so frustrating! especially when you dont believe to have any at all. the elevator sequence when she discovers juris locket is a bit of a power trip for shiori, and also just a sort of confusion. shioris “why do you look at me like that?!” when she considers juri mid breakdown is a clear reflection of her own confusion, she may as well be saying “how could you possibly love me?”...but that was the black rose arc which all got undone anyways- so by the time we see shiori ruka arc she doesnt even know juris got the hots for her. when she first sees ruka, shes staring at juri first and only zeroes in on ruka once she hears people talking abt him. she takes ruka the same way she did that boy in middle school because he seems to be something coveted by the girls around her, its a very closeted gay girl move to decide to go for a boy just because other girls are into him... and it definitely helps that hes in such close contact w juri...he could easily be the one stored in that locket of hers, so why not take him? 

so then we have ruka, who the entire time we watch him is smug, condescending, and genuinely one of the most unpleasant characters on the show. by the end we learn hes in love with juri, so maybe this persona was embellished to push her towards revolution to “free her from shiori” or whatever but.... sorry i dont care LOL! the way he treated shiori ALONE was enough for me to dislike him, there was NO need to tear apart and embarrass the girl like that. he took clear advantage of her crush on juri. his locker is seen right next to juris, and shiori is pressed up against one of the two lockers, but we arent shown which,  “after all, that wasnt my sword,”....he knows shiori has been going to juris locker (and potentially polishing her sword but who knows. all we know is that she goes to juris locker.) and it is later revealed hes extra certain of her feelings because upon publically dumping her (another dick move) we hear her kinda stutter “I love you more than.... I love you more than anyone else” shes clearly beating around a bush because theyre in public, hes pinpointed she and juri are both into eachother, and instead of being a normal ass guy about it and just SETTING THEM UP and telling them to work their stuff out he chooses to, “out of love”  assault juri, emotionally manipulates the girl juri is in love with,  then inadvertantly cause juris locket to break which upsets her so deeply she forfeits her duel with utena. and upon that locket breaking he has the AUDACITY to think hes somehow freed her from something... when the girl is breaking down crying in the rain (the first and only time we ever see juri cry...even if its implied she does it in the shower that one time lol).......then just???dies??? like all he does in his time on the show is cause problems and die, all because he couldnt get over his feelings for a lesbian.... it just feels SO gross to me that he hides his assault and general abuse (can we talk abt how he likely took shioris virginity, JUST to break her down???) behind some icky hero complex

PLUS we see shiori at the end of that episode realize shes in that locket while juri is dueling, and we see her run up to juri at the end of the ep and it doesnt look malicious, it feels very...resolutiony? esp when you put it next to the miki/kozue closing scene of their car arc duel, which is explicitly bad terms, this feels more hopefully....suggesting some part of shiori has at least changed. ruka never got that luxury, he completely exploited two girls in order to add dramatic flare to his last few days and felt valid in doing so..... shiori never seemed to think her actions were JUSTIFIED.....which is sort of the point of the black rose arc where shiori is arguably at her worst........... the very ugliest part of ppl are brought out in those elevator sessions so thats what we see of shiori?

Oohhh, great question!!!

My top three fav shows of all time got cancelled after their first seasons, and my fourth fav got canceled after 2 seasons. That being said, they were all amazing and I would recommend them to pretty much everyone!

So, Almost human (2013) is my number one show of all time. It’s near-future and got action and sci-if and plenty of dry humor and I just love the premise of each episode (there’s about 20 I think). John Kennex is a grouchy, irritable, injured, washed up cop who returns to duty after a mysterious leave of absence following a tragedy. Things have changed since he was last in the office and now he is forced to be paired with a chipper, lively robot with some defects of his own. Together they learn about each other all while fighting a rapidly evolving crime wave outfitted with the latest futuristic gear.

Next is Forever (2014). Ioan Gruffudd plays a medical examiner who for some reason can’t seem to die. He’s not a vampire, just immortal. In his quest to find out more about his “condition”, he kind of gets roped in to being a consultant for a cop, and they go on plenty of death-defying adventures while he attempts to hide his secret from her. Since he’s 200 years old, there’s a lot of old-fashioned flavor thrown in so if you like the aesthetic of pocket watches and antiques and three piece suits, you’ll fall in love with this. It’s very charming in its development of various relationships and I just adore it all around.

My third fav is Pitch (2016). If you like sports anime, this is basically a real-life version of one. It centers around the first female baseball player and all the struggles she has had to and currently overcomes to live a dream she isn’t really sure she even wants. Ginny struggles with instant stardom and the pressure that comes with being the first female pitcher in the MLB. Her catcher attempts to guide her but their relationship gets complicated by an age gap and the various baggage they both go through throughout the show.

Lastly there’s Prodigal Son (2019). It’s arguably a very typical crime drama but I can’t get over the emphasis on the mental side of criminals. Our main lead is a criminal profiler with enough mental issues for Freud to write an entirely library full of books. This is because his father is the most infamous serial killer since Jack the Ripper and who was and still is trying to convert his son to his like of thinking. Michael Sheen plays the father and the character is the prefect balance of barely-concealed psychosis and scheming mastermind. Never believe anything Martin does at face value. Anyways, it’s praised for portraying PTSD and other problems in a realistic way. If you like crime stuff please give it a chance.

Anime is hard to recommend without having a genre to help narrow it down. I’ll try to give the more obscure ones since we all know about jjk, demon slayer, mha blah blah. If you like sports stuff, try Ace of Diamond and Big windup (both baseball). If you like wolves, Wolfs Rain is good but very depressing and can be gory. It has an air of magic and mystery to it that I find alluring. For romance I recommend Ancient Magus’ Bride (a bit of an acquired taste since the male isn’t strictly human, but it’s cute and mystical) and Devils Line (it’s what Vampire Knight wanted to be and there’s no love triangle so woo). The last two I’ll recommend are Toriko, which is all about adventure and seizing the day and lots of amazing-looking food so I recommend watching this with something good to eat, and Fire force, which is classic shonin anime that’s basically MHA but the quirks are all fire based. There’s lots of others I want to elaborate on but this is long enough as it is. If you still want more, hit me up!
