anyway, a series of things I did not notice about the little spinny thing pav does while rescuing civilians from freefall, yknow the one:

he's not holding them all with one hand, he made a second loop of webs to catch his diabolo again in his other hand so it would be more secure

I can't get a good picture of it but it's the same way he caught the diabolo in his introduction after he hit the spot with it and I like that repetition

the reason he does the mid-air spin is to catch the other 'end' of the loop with his foot and wind it around his waist, to free up his hand to grab miles' arm when miles comes swooping down to catch him

(the web is staying wound around his waist because he caught it with his leg and folded his leg up so it wouldn't slip off)

also presumably it worked to slow their fall and heft the civilians a little higher, so they'll land on that roof instead of crashing into the side of the building

there's also a tiny animation error here since pavitr is still wearing his bracers/bangles on both wrists even though he's using his diabolo to do his yoyo tricks!

I actually double-checked another scene because I wouldn't put it past the costume design to have the suit coloured gold and red under the bracer but nah, in this bit his wrist is pretty clearly bare after he flicks it off:

in conclusion: this scene fucks even harder now that it makes sense to me, 10/10

Carlos laughs softly and bats TK’s arms away. “I thought we were dancing.” “We were,” TK protests, “until you stopped.” Carlos shrugs and repositions TK’s hands on his shoulders, before curling his own around TK’s waist again. “More of this?” he asks, moving them in time with the music. “Or do we pivot to the music of the early 2000s and start grinding on each other?” TK lets out an incredulous laugh, before Carlos slaps a hand over his mouth mid-step, a smirk on his face. “You’re going to wake her up,” he warns, despite looking as if he’s about to burst into laughter himself. “I just never expected the words ‘grinding’ to come out of your mouth,” TK quips. “Have you ever even been to a nightclub?” “You know I have,” Carlos snorts. “You went with me.” “Yeah, and we lasted less than an hour,” TK points out drily. “At least thirty minutes of which was spent blowing each other in the bathroom.” Carlos arches an eyebrow in his direction. “And whose fault was that?” “Yours,” TK says petulantly, “for looking so good.” “God forbid anyone expects you to exercise a modicum of self-control, TK.” “I don’t know,” TK retorts, a sly smile working its way onto his features. “I think you might enjoy my lack of self-control.” Carlos huffs playfully. “You got me. Listen I am the thinking about Gabrielle breaking her moral code and killing the roman soldier to try and save Xena. It’s literally my favorite moment in media ever.

Like you have Gabrielle, who is always set as being the moral center of the show. She starts off innocent and naïve but grows more as the show goes on. She gets darker but she’s still the moral center- the one that Xena always trusts to guide her through her own journey to redemption. Then she gets taken advantage of so deeply that it falls apart and The Rift happens. They make it through that but Gabrielle is so shaken by those events that she tries to revert back to her peaceful ways.

She spends an entire season trying to be peaceful. She gives up violence and carries no weapons despite how dangerous her life with Xena is and that she knows they’re going to lose their lives together soon.

Then Xena gets attacked. Xena- the woman that fought off an entire army! She’s fought off gods and all kinds of monsters but she collapses because her back got broken.

And Gabrielle picks up a weapon and starts killing Roman soldiers like it’s nothing. Even before she started her nonviolent lifestyle she NEVER killed people but Xena’s life is in danger and her first instinct was to pick up a sword to protect her.

God it gets me every time. Xena could never get rid of that piece of herself that was good and Gabrielle can’t get rid of that little piece of darkness. And at the end of the day her breaking her oath only bought Xena a couple of hours because they still end up crucified.

I know the show implies that Gabrielle’s arc is finished in the final when she picks up Xena’s mantle but to ME her realizing that there was no way for her to live a peaceful life anymore , that violence will always be a part of her and that Xena was more important then anything is just perfect.

I'd seen the "this simple feeling" scene, I was prepared for that. but I wasn't prepared for the full extent of the conversion therapy allegory

and then Spock saying "it knows only that it needs but like so many of us, it does not know what" while gazing at Kirk

and then the whole fucking resolution being that V'ger needs to discover something more, "a human quality, our capacity to leap beyond logic," through union with a human

it clearly parallels Spock and Kirk with V'ger and Will and directly implies that 'this simple feeling' is love, romantic love
