This is the first time I’ve felt warm in months
Sweet embers warm my bones
Crackling wood cradles me
Gently flames tickle my cheeks
In my death, I can offer one last comfort to you my love
Eat me
My flesh is tender like a lamb’s
My skin papery and organs succulent
I know how you grieve and starve for me darling
It’s okay, this is what I want too
Yes!
You tear open my skin
Bring me to your lips in a final act of worship
Finally we can be one
Ravenous, you swallow whole chunks
I only wish you would savor me beloved
Our lips touch in the sweetest ache
The closest to a kiss we’ll ever get
you opening your mouth to tear my lips from my face
I feel your hands inside of me
Feel you reaching up into my rib cage
What ecstasy! What bliss!
You find my heart, a delicacy I saved just for you
Your teeth sink into it, tasting the adoration I held for you
You heave your head back
Howling at the love sick moon
Don’t worry, dear
I wanted this too

The rise of "let people enjoy things" is single handedly the backbone of the rise of anti intellectualism
#i need to talk about this#disclaimer : im beyond terrible at putting my point across#so with that being said let me attempt at it#let's take look at the hate and misogyny women receive for liking a certain genre of books#that is so often simply countered with let people enjoy things#but we cannot let that narrative take over a whole as if critical thinking is “bad”?#booktok has made it so that disliking a popular books makes you the person with the superiority complex who should just let people enjoy-#-things#but when did criticizing actively target audiences who like that peice of literature? When did that become the narrative?#its all mindless consumption without a second thought to the actual material which can easily be credited to the tropification of books#the enemies do turn into lovers and the best friends do fall in love 10 years down the line#classifying books into tropes and then fulfilling that promise gives books an illusion of being “good” since it checks those boxes-#-that the reader picked up the book for in the first place#the act of reading has kind of been substituted by the act of being a reader and just owning stacks of books#we have turned away from any form of analysis or criticism#if it scratches the itch then its automatically the perfect book without further thought#i cant help but contribute the mere existence of that “itch” to how mordern books are classified into tropes with set plotlines#intelligenctualism is almost always looked at as elitism#reading only classics doesn't make you an intellectual individual but looking at any book with a critical lens may it be a classic or a rom#-com does#criticizing certain aspects of your absolute favorite books is intellectualism and not bullying people who like anything but classics#that distinction is so far lost in translation that talking about how a popular book is objectively bad is being a “hater”#well then im a hater#this is not a hate post for people who actively enjoy booktock or the more popular books#im just trying to introduce any amount of nuance into the conversation thats all#i can honestly go on forever but i think ill end my ranting here#literary criticism#literature#books#anti intellectualism

There’s something I've been meaning to say but I haven't had the words till now. There is something that deeply upsets me about witnessing stories where villains, who are literal killers, fall in love and somehow become good or act outside of what is expected from them. I love love, love is beautfiul, it is powerful and it can truly change a lot. But to sit, and write a killer suddenly go "actually, this one can stay because I am in love for the first time" is such a weird concept to me. Is this happening because as a sociaty we're trying to convince ourselves that deeply disturbed people can be cured by the power of love? That if they just find the right person, they would stop the masacer? or at least no longer feel the need to kill how they were or at least let their person live? And I am not mad at the love, I do belive anyone can fall deeply in love, but my issue is with how it ends. I want to witness the unthinkable — I want to see is exactly what we expect but hoped won't happen, happening. A gut wrenching truth that stays true to who we have been witnessing, despite the "I can change them" dance. And perhaps people hate this idea because they want to belive that anyone can change if only they meet the right one, or that we can change the monsters in our lives with affection, but trust most likly is that they cannot be changed. And I can understand that to some this is then seen as an illusion. "oh then this was never true love", why can the two not exist? Do we not hurt those we love? Maybe not kill them, but someone elses hurt could feel like a small death to me, and vice versa.
Examples, so that you are not confused as to what I am reffering too;
Killing Eve; I stopped watching when Villanelle was shown shooting Eve. It felt true to her character, even if it hurt. She is a killer, we knew that and so did Eve. Regardless of her love, that was what was always going to happen so why were we given additional seaons of this fanatsy of a declawed Villanelle?
Hannibal; It should have ended with the death of Will, and possibly Hannibal consuming him. Didn't Hannibal say that the consumption of Will would somehow join them in a deeper way?Something so disturbing that only could make sense to a serial killing-cannibal. And I would have watched with wide eyes, and gone to sleep staring at the ceiling.
Interveiw With The Vampire; Louis' death in the hand of a Lestat would have made sense, and despite his dramatics, Lestat would have not committed suicide but instead burried himself in deep regret untill he was too numb to his own feelings that he could return to the world of the living. He would have never forgotten Louis, nor what he did, but he would have moved on beause Lestat is not a good person. He's deeply disturbed and Louis knew this. I don't even aknoclege that beatdown episode because Lestat may be a killer, but he's a drama queen first and formost. Louis' death would have been poetic, beautiful and grusom like a greek tragedy without an audiance.
Bonus - Twilight; I could not end without adding my own favorite, and despite this path never being teased to the audiance the same way the other's were, I would have loved the book simply ending because Edward did as he said he would - drained Bella like a Caprisun on a hot summer day. Because what is love agaisnt animalistic urgase (I understand why it is much hotter that he is simply so retsrained and devoted that he resists her, but I'd pay good money for an AU)
At the end of it all, I think want I want is for sociaty to get over the idea that a good woman, love or any form of kindness can change who some people are. Love can do many things - look at crimes of passion! And to some extend I belive that these villain's love were true, possibly not the way we imagine them - which is less so "I love you too" and more so, "wow, finally someone I can manipulate and obsess over. Someone who I can mold, someone who is alone in the world like me" only to realize that is not true.
So why do we make love into what it isnt? Even when the scene is set for us to be shown the truth, writers and the audiance always make the plot lean towards whatever fits so that we can have that "happy ending".
Honorable mentions;
God should have killed Lucifer, I know the bible and christianity is not technically fiction for all, but the idea that he is forgivin but lets the biggest meanness HE CREATED terrorize everybody is evil. Take him out or let somebody else do it homie.
#thoughts#twilight#hannibal#killing eve#interview with the vampire#vc#horror#thriller#Not to mention I don't belive a lot of these characters love their love interest instead its as I said obsession / Lonliness / Control / Co#consumption* gluttony#envy and the love interest love being the center of their univers or at least a patr of their world#not for a second would bella have been intrigued if edward just left her alone lmao yes he's hot to her but thats it#second she finds out hes a vampire her eyes get big and she's ready to die just to join! Its all giving cult!#Hannibal was ready to take will as a apprentece at the end with the way Will was going full force#Louis finally was the deep dakr monster that hid underneith it all - rage he couldnt unleash but now as he is a vampire its a free for all#but see how will hates it? how louis recognizes that he is not truly evil just has urges to act in evil ways?#bella is unhinge so like I cannot defend my first born lesbian daughter that was her thru and thru lmao she was tehre for strap (edward) an#anti anging (vampireism) if id written it she woul dhave said fuck them kids and simply terminated lmao had carlile change her and live her#best life with alice purr#jasper being a racist is also on par lmao ppl always mention it and im like yeah bestie they are ancient vampires id be suspsicious if one-#wanst a KKK member and they were all white lmao#its not funny haha but imma still laugh

hi what do you think abt t4t kakayama (it's canon to me tbh)
:) hi ty for the question. i will do two sweet pictures of them being intimate and then under the cut there's going to be a longer very unsweet and more technical response
so i'm usually not a very shippy person! but that said i am also on the record as an occasional kakayama + kakayamagai enjoyer
i do hc them both as trans and in different ways w/ different experiences of transition and identity! i have no interest in proving my view as canon, but i do regard my reading of the text (text here including the anime) as a valid interpretation of yamato's experience of identity
yamato, for example, imo, doesnt have any real lived experience of being raised as a child of any gender. he was an experimental subject, and then he was Danzō's weapon/vessel for the mokuton, and then he was in anbu.
in a fun little word game which should not be taken seriously: it'd almost be more fitting to describe him as "adgender" rather than "transgender" since the prefix "trans" implies moving across where the prefix "cis" means to stand still, but the prefix "ad" means "to move towards" and i headcanon him as somebody who was degendered as a child, not in a cool nonbinary way, but instead in a dehumanizing, objectifying way, so his experience of creating his identity and his gender along with it is one of moving toward the concept of gender this word doesn't and wont exist, but bc of the way english works it would probably be simplified to be spelled precisely the same as "agender" in the same way that "aggression" came from latin "aggredi" which came from "ad" (meaning to/toward) and and latin "gradus" (meaning step) (essentially the combination means "to step to" [in a threatening manner]) the only diferences is where agender (meaning no gender) is pronounced ay-gender, the agender that comes from adgender would be prounounced more like "uhgender" in the same way that agressive isnt pronounced like "ay-gressive" but instead like "uhgressive"
and then...as for kakashi? i just decided on vibes. i didn't think hard about it.
i guess i should also say that, while i draw kakayama very infrequently, when i do draw it i usually try to be very apparent about the transness in the artwork if i can? especially if i'm drawing anything more intimate than a peck on the cheek. it's no secret that shipping is often times the most energized part of fandom, and i kind of don't want to produce romantic or sexual artwork which will be enjoyed by people who don't think trans people can be attractive? or who find that trans headcanons make a character uninteresting to them? or worse, "ruin" a depiction of a character to them?
often i think about in terms of. IF there are people that follow me that love my work (usually) and think that kakashi or yamato are hot (usually) and love kakayama (usually) but get frustrated or even uncomfortable out when i draw them as explicitly trans? then i'm drawing all intimate artwork of them as explicitly trans.
it's a little like...nobody gets to love my work if transgender characters are a turnoff for them. that's the bar for entry, is the way i think of it, but really its more like putting onions in a dish. if you want to eat the dish you have to eat the onions. if you don't want to eat the onions, don't eat the dish. all the meals i make contain onions. i'll never compromise on my intention to put onions in every dish i make. that's my ninja way, as the kids say.
especially in the climate we're in right now.
i don't know. i have a lot of feelings about how most fandoms tend to view trans men, especially in terms of romantic and sexual relationships. I'm doing a bad job of expressing the depth of how much seeing how fandom treats trans male identity and transmasculine bodies impacts the way that i draw + write kakayama, but genuinely it's something i think about every single time i create content about them.
#yamswers#danova#often even when there r trans characters/trans hcs of characters the m/m pairings are usually trans + cis#+ i wanna emphasize: there's nothing wrong with that. trans+cis relationships are as beautiful and valid as t4t#but...in fiction...there's like. expectations. of how a trans guy will act in a relationship with a cis guy#literally every transmasc person knows exactly what im fucking talking about lol#i'm trying to keep this conversation PG bc naruto is not an adult show—so. anyway#the presence of t4t depictions is basically essential in offering an alternative image of relationships + intimacy for trans individuals#a view of trans bodies which is not designed for the pleasure of cis consumption+assumption#a view of trans bodies not couched in an artist statement saying ''this is a trans body. this is how you interact with a body like it.''#sometimes even stuff made by trans people will cater to explaining transness to cis people + thats fine and okay and—#—can be cathartic to create. esp as a trans person since so many of us are Surrounded by cis people irl#but. as a singular consumer. i get tired of that. i don't want it—at least not in the way that fandom frequently produces#i'm sorry this was probably an ask that expected a reply full of trans love and just got a bunch of technical stuff back#but to be fair this IS how i feel about t4t kakayama

I got a comment on Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, which made me think about that fic. and then I went back to writing the original thing I was working on and had a moment like
ohh...hhh...
I guess I'll just say that if the themes in Smoke resonated with you, this fic takes many of those and runs with them lmao
#writing liveblogging#if I want to write more and more elaborate stories#about people who feel monstrous until they meet a person who sees them so clearly and loves them so fiercely#that they begin to feel human#then I am ALLOWED damn it#also weird stuff about guilt over the physical act of consumption...?#remembering a lecture I attended once in college by a classicist#who was talking about concepts of food/not-food#and how violating that instills one of the most visceral squicks in the audience#as well as informing ideas of the monstrous#and I suppose I keep coming back to that too#also also stuff about cleaning/being clean etc.#o o f#maybe I'm repeatedly writing about pollution through consumption (i.e. trauma) and ablution/purification through love#that's the heart of it I suppose

one day i'll be able to articulate all my thoughts about getou. one day.
#bee chats#he is truly a great and terrible beauty#the way his love leads to such hatred#to such violence#his continued consumption of curses#that he kept doing#despite what it was doing to him#an act of love an act of duty#you have to wonder where the line blurred between the two#AND HE ISN'T EVEN FROM A FAMILY OF SORCERERS#he took this burden on knowing nothing about it#i think of baby suguru all the time—how did he learn he could swallow curses?#was it instinctive? or was he opening his mouth to scream?#oh he makes me insane

i think a very interesting icebreaker question for any artist is their thoughts on the phrase "consuming art" or "[i need to/want to/ought to] consume art".
does it inherently take away from the point of art because it treats it like a consumable good? is it more akin to those homoerotic depictions of love as consumption? does it best represent primal emotions in response to art? does it not matter?
#i feel like this conversation is either a nonissue or would cause 5 schisms in the art community at least#i was originally gonna post “god i need to consume more art”#WHICH I DO BTW#i am personally attracted to consumption as a horrific act of love akin to a primal need etc etc but thats because im a mabel podcast fan a#d theyve permanently altered my brain chemistry#but i think theres so many factors that go into the interpretation of this phrase and i KNOW itd be interesting to discuss

every day I get closer to making stuff part of eyrie’e shb lore that is Unhinged
#if they had been a bit closer to becoming a lightwarden they might have cannibalized ran’jit on the floor in eulmore#if lightwardens didn’t turn into light essence then eyrie would have eaten the boss of the 2nd to last trial#I just love the juxpostion of this incredible act of violence and despoiling the human body being on the floor of eulmore#this place filled to the brim with excess of consumption and the depravity of indolence#the place where people become sin eaters who are turned into meol who are fed to the people#being the place that bears witness to the terrible bloody act of cannibalism#the symbolism slaps!!#I don’t like thinking about the ramifications of it but I do enjoy the idea of it#adds it to the list of cannibalism dreams that eyrie has#it’s like. so much of what would make them a light warden is tied up in the need to consume aether#it tickles my brain so much#the eat fight eat fight eat fight really works for sin eater eyrie#shadowbringers spoilers
