It was a privilege to share the same blood as Giuseppe Geppetto. To be his family, his niece and take part in the marvelous worlds of puppets. The privilege to learn from him as his apprentice. The privilege to care for the things he cares for and to have the things he cares for, care deeply for you.

TW in general: Yandere behaviour, creepy and still puppet, dubious intentions and relationships
[TW for this one specifically include: very depressing atmosphere, angry Geppetto, condescension, strong grief, burnout, mentions of crying and sniffling, distracting oneself]
Feet rushed over the lavish loveseat, the wrench quickly whisked off the work table, the metal edge carved into the wood. He barely paid any attention to the small havoc he was creating and was instead on his knees and screwing in the last bolt with all his might. Gritting his teeth, he adjusted his grip with a deep breath and pulled and pulled and pulled until his knuckles turned white, nose scrunched up and his muscles flexing, aching.
With a yelp, briefly followed by a hiss, the tool was let go and clattered to the floor. One moment he felt how his hand shook in pain and in the next, the metal arm almost fell on his foot.
"Damn all this!"
The loud thud resounded through the workshop and you awoke.
Taking a deep breath, your widened eyes blinked, looking around the dark room. Opaque light peeked through the louvered blinds, letting you recognize your limp self in your bed. The sheets lazily covered you, a pillow was squeezed into the corner with your leg hanging from the frame. Aurorie was curled around your arm.
Wiping your clogged nose, you stayed there for a few minutes - until you heard another echo - unintelligable words. You sighed as you forced yourself out of bed with a push, gathering the sheets and throwing them back to your bed. You could make your way to the door through the darkness with doll in hand. Opening it revealed more than enough light, startingly blinding you, leaving you to cover your eyes. Patting your clothes down a few times would be enough for your uncle to look presentable. You did not get changed last night anyway.
Your feet lazily stepped down one stair at a time as you held on the rail for support. You sniffed once again but the close and hot air would leave it clogged, you feared.
Stopping in your tracks you listened. Once more there was the sound of metal clattering and of things being moved. The source seemed to stem from the long, long hallway in the back, illuminated dimly by a few lamps. You knew that hallway well but not as well as all the other rooms in your uncle's workshop. As a child the path was fun to run through but soon you'd halt at the sight of the big, wooden door with a small staircase leading to a darkness below. Just one creak of the first stair left you frightened and dashing back to the start of the hallway. A long time ago you swore to yourself that your marathon through the building would not go any farther than that door - but you were old enough to squash such fears now as you walked towards it.
A basement was just a room one floor under. It wasn't like you were buried below ground.
The closer you got, the better you could see the familiar door and its handle and the better you could make out the garbling to be Uncle's voice.
Just as your good hand reached for the handle, you started at footsteps rushing up the stairs with loud thumps. Luckily your reflexes were faster and you stepped back just far enough to not have Geppetto slam the door into your face.
"(Name)!"
Your eyes snapped to his face. Disheveled hair and an unkempt beard, as well as sweat running down his red face greeted you. He panted as if he had run a marathon down the hallway and into the basement himself. His monocle was nowhere to be seen.
The man tried to catch his breath. Just as he seemed to be spacing out to you, he quickly stepped forward, firmly closed the door shut and locked it.
"What are you doing, Uncle Geppetto?" You hesitated to reach out to him. "What are you doing? You should be resting." With a loud click, the door was locked and he put the key into his breast pocket. "Stitches are not to be taken lightly." Turning around, he had a frown matching his patronizing tone. You could tell he was biting his tongue.
"I just," Your gaze darted between the ground and him slowly, tardily even as if you struggled to be awake, to be present in this very moment. You held your doll higher up as if she were a shield. "Heard a small commotion. You've been working in the basement for the past week now...is there something important you've got to do for the Workshop Union?" For a moment Geppetto's glare softened and he looked away himself. "Important?...Yes, it is. Very much so." Swiftly he focused on you again with narrowed eyes. "It's been occupying my mind but it shouldn't yours. You're still tired, dear, and in much need of rest. Go back to your room, you'll just burden the both of us with unnecessary worrying."
The older man passed by you in a hurry, gone in an blink of an eye. Staying alone, left behind in the dark hallway, you watched his silhouette vanish. Your eyes were burning.
'Your apprentice is worried, Guiseppe.'
His face soured.
'You needn't be a mind reader but just see it in her eyes. Your niece is untrustworthy and she believes you to be as well.'
The melon hat slipped out of his hand. With a growl, he slammed it on his head. Another meeting with these narcists.
'You'd best leave the thought be. Family never betrays.'
Slamming the door shut he was met with a tempest.
He does not have time for this.
You milled towards the kitchen with your gaze catching every mess left behind. Uncle hardly seemed to have any time at all for anything above the basement - you assumed. The darkness of your room invited you to be embraced by sleep more often than not. If anything, you'd saunter down to change your bandages or to eat some snacks, as you were doing now.
Yet opening the cupboards, not many of them were filled to the brim as they used to. Coffee, tea, jam, beans, crackers, fruit, pastries have all become scarce and the rain outside wasn't tempting to go collect a few things. You'd awaken at unholy hours for any shops to be open and you'd hate for the baker girl to see you in this sorry state. You were afraid your bandages would get wet anyway. Uncle would surely get a few things on his daily outings.
Shoving a bit of cheese and bread into your mouth and pocket, you lazily made your way back upstairs. Your eyes still felt that burn and part of your mind scolded you for not at least sitting at the table to nibble on your snack but you could care less. The kitchen looked so empty.
'...Back to the news of the week in Krat - the maid puppet is still being kept under the watchful eye of the Workshop Union upon their request. Many folks believe this to be a revolutionary step towards puppets gaining more skills and becoming more useful, completely understanding humans; While many others voice out concern over the fact it cares so deeply for the baby it was made to look after. Calling it creepy even...'
The narrator's uninflected voice left you a bit surprised. You hadn't heard of that - having shut down your radio a few weeks ago. The repetitive news alongside the rain outside soured your mood.
Even now you couldn't listen. Gnawing on your cheese, you passed by the hallway connected to the staircase and your eyes, as if on reflex, immediately stared at the shut cabinet.
Uncle locked the butler puppets in there by your request. He was understanding of your burnout yet it also seemed like he could not care less for the puppet brothers. He never mentioned them after that again.
'According to the family, the infant has had episodes of tantrums after the puppet was taken into investigstion. The puppet itself seemed to call for the baby which is not included into a maid's speech system by the Workshop Union. They claim it may be possible for the system to adapt, which...'
You've passed by and shut close your door. Adjusting the blinds, you let a bit of sunlight peek out, as much as it could on this cloudy day. It was enough to properly see the messy room and you stretched, deciding to sit down at your work table for once. The bed would just tempt you to nap again.
You slumped down the table with a thump with your elbows up and holding onto each of Aurorie's hand. Chin resting on the edge, you rocked her left and right, your eyes lazily following her. A sigh escaped you as you attempted to twirl the doll.
Left and right...
Left and right...
A twirl and feigning from falling over the edge, tapping back and forth...
The silly dances of the parade puppet came to mind. It'd prance around the people, flex its mechanical arms to get a reaction out of them, stagger the men up on its shoulders as if it were a game...
Why did you feel so upset about all this? The day was breathtaking, the sights colorful and so very different compared to the bleak walls of this place and the meager spare parts of puppets lying around. The food fresher than any you could have at the bakery, toys buzzing about as children laughed and people greeting you with an actual smile on their face...
Why didn't you take that puppet's hand? At last, you would have been able to dance with everyone on the plaza, too...
You wiped your eyes before they could water. This feeling, as if a claw was constraining the inside of your chest, felt so, so wrong and you felt so, so stupid for feeling upset about the past. The festival is over. There will be no parade in this gloomy weather.
With a sniff, you held up your doll once again. To the left and right it swung as if it were that grande puppet itself. It would be wonderful if at least she could lighten your spirits and dance your woes away...
Tilting your head, you made her hop on the table. "...When you wish upon a star...makes no difference who you are..." Aurorie would tilt with every sentence you softly let out. A smile grew on your face. "Anything your heart desires, will come to you..." Holding the doll higher up, you had her tap back and forth.
"If your heart is in your dream...no request is too extreme..."
You sung higher and louder. Aurorie would nod along.
"When you wish upon a star...as dreamers do."
You tilted her arm up, holding unto her hand with your finger and the other supported her waist - twirling it around as if you two danced together.
"Fate is kind...she brings to those who love..." You let out in a soft but higher tone - as if Aurorie was singing to you. "The sweet fulfillment of their secret longing..."
The play-pretend soothed the lump in your throat at the very least.
At the peak, you'd let her jump up high as if she could reach for the stars themselves and graciously land on your arm.
"...Like a bolt out of the blue...suddenly it comes in view...when you wish upon a star...!"
At the finale, you let her bow.
"Your dreams come true."
With a smile you got rid of the last sniffles. The air had finally become a bit clearer around the room but you feared that it would be stiff and hot once you leave again. So, placing your dear friend back on the bed, sitting comfortably against the pillow, you did your best to quickly snatch some things below. It started off tame before you began collecting more and more off your uncle's worktable.
'...The people left their concerns known, believing things to go awry with the maid puppet. Some fear or observe their own puppets for any malfunciton but the Workshop Union, as well as many officials of Krat, promise that there is no need for worry.'
"When a star is born, they possess a gift or two..."
'However, recently before the incident, a group, wishing to stay anonymous, reported a similiar but more vile incident. A puppet having acted violently to another person. No evidence was laid but there seem to be witnesses...'
"One of them is this...they have the power to make a wish come true."
'Business seem to have gone low...demand for puppets has decreased and there is a fear of a sudden surge of inflation, predicting...'
"When you wish upon a star..."
'The Workshop Union nor the Alchemists seem to not have any more to say on that. Additionally, the weather for Krat seems to be staying all gloom and doom like this for the rest of the week...'
You couldn't afford to think of the consequnces now, of the future. For what else were you here but to built and create. Your heart wished to sing and be sung to, to feel this euphoria only Krat could offer. As of now, no one could offer that but only you to yourself.
It may be selfish and in your mind, it is. Yet you refused to think about your uncle's face, about the other puppets stuck in the cabinet, those outside in the bakery, in the tailorshop, in the plaza or of that stupid school and its swings and tree. Uncle would be calling you a bad child, as ridicilous as it sounded.
"Anything your heart desires..."
He seemed way too focused on whatever seemed to be in the basement anyway.
"Will come to you..."

Okay so here's my theory as to Kemen's fate. Also possibly Earien's, but I think its more thematically appropriate to be Pharazon's son. (or both! An argument could be made that Earien gets sacrificed specifically to get at Elendil and Isildur, but I still think she could potentially be a ringwraith.)
On Numenor, Sauron converts the non-Faithful to full on worship of Morgoth and sacrifices any who dare oppose them to the pyre.
None too soon was this done; for after the assault the King yielded to Sauron and felled the White Tree, and turned then wholly away from the allegiance of his fathers. But Sauron caused to be built upon the hill in the midst of the city of the Númenóreans, Armenelos the Golden, a mighty temple; and it was in the form of a circle at the base, and there the walls were fifty feet in thickness, and the width of the base was five hundred feet across the centre, and the walls rose from the ground five hundred feet, and they were crowned with a mighty dome. And that dome was roofed all with silver, and rose glittering in the sun, so that the light of it could be seen afar off; but soon the light was darkened, and the silver became black. For there was an altar of fire in the midst of the temple, and in the topmost of the dome there was a louver, whence there issued a great smoke. And the first fire upon the altar Sauron kindled with the hewn wood of Nimloth, and it crackled and was consumed; but men marvelled at the reek that went up from it, so that the land lay under a cloud for seven days, until slowly it passed into the west. Thereafter the fire and smoke went up without ceasing; for the power of Sauron daily increased, and in that temple, with spilling of blood and torment and great wickedness, men made sacrifice to Melkor that he should release them from Death. And most often from among the Faithful they chose their victims; yet never openly on the charge that they would not worship Melkor, the Giver of Freedom, rather was cause sought against them that they hated the King and were his rebels, or that they plotted against their kin, devising lies and poisons. These charges were for the most part false; yet those were bitter days, and hate brings forth hate. But for all this Death did not depart from the land, rather it came sooner and more often, and in many dreadful guises. For whereas aforetime men had grown slowly old, and had laid them down in the end to sleep, when they were weary at last of the world, now madness and sickness assailed them; and yet they were afraid to die and go out into the dark, the realm of the lord that they had taken; and they cursed themselves in their agony. And men took weapons in those days and slew one another for little cause; for they were become quick to anger, and Sauron, or those whom he had bound to himself, went about the land setting man against man, so that the people murmured against the King and the lords, or against any that had aught that they had not; and the men of power took cruel revenge. Tolkien, J.R.R.. The Silmarillion (p. 307). HarperCollins. Kindle Edition.
In order to prove himself to Morgoth, to fend off this death that Pharazon so fears, Pharazon will sacrifice his own son upon that altar. The ultimate proof of his devotion. The ultimate proof of his wickedness.

"i'm sorry. we did the best that we can do." a glum voice spoke out that was soon drowned out by a series of wails, and pained cries of desperation coming from the woman with a frail body, her body shaking from the pain of it all. this is a sound that has been a little too familiar to the ash-blonde-haired man that stood a few blocks away from the scene for he was a former messenger of unpleasant updates. he took a deep breath and tore his gaze away from the weeping woman, and walked away.
his footsteps reverberated throughout the bland and empty hallways; the shiny, vinyl composite flooring – all covered in a pale color. sullen walls painted in white, glass walls separating each room, and compartments, decorated with nothing but a single table, and pair of chairs planted in front, and ivory curtains that hid the examination bed from behind the doctor's table. there was a bit of greenery found inside each room – a small pot of succulents and snake plants, a forlorn attempt at making the area look somewhat lively and comforting. louver lights flickering and blinking - illuminating the dust littered particularly in the air. empty hallways filled with the ghosts of past mistakes and hope delicately revived.
everything about the premise is melancholic and a reminder of how futile and vulnerable humans can be once a part of them starts to fluctuate and fail.
"shuntaro, you have a patient at the consulting room, i think they're here for a brief check-up." a silvery voice chimed in from behind the reception lobby, her hair tied in a sleek ponytail, with a clean make-up look.
the man named chishiya nodded in response and immediately head towards the elevator. Its been 3 months and a half since the meteor struck their city - thousands of people died brutally, and multitudinous casualties.
for quite some time, after chishiya woke up in the same dreary bed located in the lackluster rooms in the hospital, he had a few realizations - actually, lots of realizations to be honest, as if something inside him cleared. if you died for a minute, for sure after you woke up you would look at life in a different light - that’s what chishiya thought.
aside from this, he also has this gnawing feeling in the pits of his stomach, that hefty void in his heart he can’t explain at all, as if he was missing something or he was meant to do something but he forgot about it - and god, this was frustrating as hell for the platinum-haired man.
the elevator dinged signifying that he reached the floor he needed to go to, abruptly disrupting the enigmatic trance chishiya was in. his slender, veined careful hands turned the cold knob of the consulting room, and there, he saw a dainty figure, hunched over - hands placed on their knees, delicate fingertips drumming in anticipation.
you seemed to be lost in your own reverie because you didn’t lift your head up when chishiya entered the room - you were biting the insides of your cheek, and your hair stubbornly falling on your face despite being tucked behind your ear.
“good afternoon,” chishiya greeted you, his voice husky yet silvery at the same time, caught your attention as you instantly whipped your head towards the man who spoke in front of you. his hands were both inside his pockets, a single black pen clipped in his lab coat’s chest pocket.
you stood and greeted him back - the man briefly smiled and quietly walked towards the consulting table. his hair was gracefully tied up in a ponytail. the air conditioner in the room blew a gentle, wintry breeze, and the moment chishiya entered the room, it seemed like his woody, and musk scent delicately mixed into the whole ambiance.
the man wearing the medical coat then initiated the check-up - he asked a series of questions and listened to your concerns and as your words stretch into hazy sentences, something about you feels oddly familiar to him who intently stared at you as you talk, nods every now and then and he tried to analyze, not what you're trying to say, but your features. god, you look so familiar, but he can't even remember when and where he saw or met you. was it at that coffee shop downtown? or on the thrifting book event that was hosted 4 months ago that he accidentally stumbled upon? he sighed and looked down.
“i’m really sorry for the inconvenience, i -” you apologized, apparently, you were here for a monthly check-up but dr. kobayashi wasn’t around, but it didn’t bother chishiya at all - he was intrigued by you.
“It’s fine, no worries.” chishiya replied, shaking his head as he smiled and waved off your statement. he mentioned you to go to the examination bed located near the window, a few blocks away on the left side of the table.
there was tranquility laced in the atmosphere, a comfortable silence, between the two of you - chishiya followed you close behind, after grabbing his stethoscope from the drawer.
ೃ⁀➷ i don't wanna live forever ; zayn malik and taylor swift
the distance between the two of you was closed the moment chishiya carefully placed his stethoscope two intercostals beneath your left collarbone - “take a few deep breaths,” he requested, voice low and hoarse, but incredibly honeyed. the cold metal of the stethoscope’s bell seeped through the fabric of your clothing, making you heave your breath deeper.
chishiya’s eyes lose focus every now and then, torn whether to look in your eyes or anywhere else as he listens to your hushed heartbeats. your body was tense and stiff - so was your gaze. “nicely done, just a few more and we're done.” he mused, because somehow, he can’t breathe as well - there was this electrifying aura that engulfed the two of you; he switched his instrument and placed it the same exact distance beneath your clavicle, this time on the right side.
“Where the fuck were you? I was so worried.”
maybe two or three harsh flashes of vivid images popped up in his head, an array of disorganized thoughts and memories he doesn’t know where and when happened - he gulped. what the hell is happening?
down. he placed his stethoscope on the 4th intercostal space of your ribs, between your chest- “breathe,” he repeated, this time, with emphasis.
perched at the second floor’s railings, you were staring down at the people partying their lives away, their hands either full with glasses of cocktails and whiskey paired with intoxicating lit cigarette sticks, dim embers falling gracefully on the ground, contrasting the scintillating array of led lights that surround the premise, there you were, directly proportional to him, eyes full of genuine adoration and fleeting lust.
ೃ⁀➷everything has changed ; taylor swift and ed sheeran
down, again. beneath your chest, located in the middle of your 5th intercostal space - “come find me after we get out of here, okay? i’ll wait for you.” your ragged, and sweet voice croaked out before you fell to the ground. chishiya watched as you bathe in your own pool of blood, body covered in stab wounds, bruises, and fractured bones that you acquired after your fight with the king of spades.
ah. yes. you - the one who pulled him back to the halo of hopes amidst the hell that most of you players call, borderland. his saving grace, the only thin thread of humanity and sanity that keeps him in check every now and then. you, who he shared most of his nights with, souls and bodies entangled under the sheets, finding solace and pleasure in each other. you who would join him in his insanity on starless night skies boring each other's insecurities and deepest regrets to each other.
you, who he considered as his serendipity of kindness that he found in the discord of hostility - the person he never knew he would fall for, and give his all to see back again, after the hellish nightmare both of you shared.
“all done.” the taller one smiled, as he helped you get off the examination bed - he held your hands to assist you and your skin felt warm against his freezing ones, soft against his calloused touch, your gaze calm contrasting his frenzied eyes, masked by a half smile, and curt bows.
seconds stretched into entangled minutes - and chishiya was contemplating whether to ask you about what he suddenly remembered upon relishing in your serene presence.
“thank you. have a nice day ahead.” you bowed as you bid your goodbye to him.
fuck.
he thought, the uneasiness crawling under his skin violently the moment you were gone from his sight - should he take this chance? or was he just hallucinating? would it be weird if approaches you and ask you that question? he doesn’t want you to feel uncomfortable or anxious around him.
but damn, those memories that popped up in his head are as real as he could feel in his heart, mind, and body. he sighed and ran outside. he won't overthink this one anymore.
hasty and desperate footsteps echoed on each hallway and floor that he strided in a hurry - upon reaching the lobby, he whipped his head to search for your figure only to find you almost outside. he heaved a deep breath and called your name that halted your pace towards the main door.
“i’m really sorry to ask you this question and it might be unprofessional of me, but i’m sure we’ve met before.” he breathed, his bangs covering half of his confused face.
you chuckled. “i thought you forgot.”
relieved, he smiled back. “almost.”
“would you like to have lunch with me, dr. shuntaro?” you quipped, and offered your feeble warm hands.
“it would be an honor.” and placed his hand on yours - the apricity of your touch reminded him of what comfort and cloud 9 felt like.

WIP Whenever
I was tagged by @ghostoffuturespast so it's about time for an update on the Nomad Vantage Custom
I just put a coat of primer on it a earlier today just so I can see AAALLLL the parts I need to sand. Since the last update, CDPR added machine guns and missile launchers to nomad vehicles, so I'd be remiss not to add them. They are very small and were put together exclusively with tweezers.
There's also the front wheel spoilers/wings/louvers which took me 5 attempts to get right. They stick out 1mm too far BUT I got them parallel, which is more important so I can live with it. Also the little crash mushrooms/bumpers which really fill out the front end.
And the most importantly pointless part,
HEADLIGHTS
And like all led headlights, these ones blind the fuck out of me. I have the leds for the taillights but that will require more work.
Now if you will excuse me, I need to return to sanding this car. Which will be followed by applying some filler. Then followed by more sanding. Then perhaps more filling. Followed of course, by sanding once again.

Windchargers headsculpt?
[the images are all cropped from TFwiki photography]
It's interesting (?) how Windchargers simple G1 toy's head has been interpreted in media and later toys.
Like, the original face is like black shades, mask but also the little robo-beard/chin-ornament/postiche thing. There's an implied helmet like structure, but it's so basic and then there's the boxy element that seems to exist to line the inner surface of the car-mode's front end to make it less obvious this is just the underside of a car. It was probably fine for its time, right? The toy was tiny. But, what I like is that the black shades-like visor is on the box whose alt-mode has the louvered window. It's thematic.
Then Windcharger had some other toys that were a whole different scheme with a chest-hood (not pictured here).
Then the Generations/Combiner Wars toy goes with a different interpretation. Like, the front end of a car is still back there, but the boxy element is also red so it fades away. And now there's a helmet structure. This makes sense to me. Like, that gray boxy element was probably never needed for aesthetics. IDK if it had a function in making the sculpting/molding process any more efficient. So, this version of Windcharger is kinda handsome, but like in a generic manner like Megatron was a trendsetter for certain styles of helmets and this bot got one because he's a pony-car who likes to mod himself, but he ended up losing some of her personality by not having shades.
Then there's this Power of the Primes version of Windcharger and it's like someone thought they wanted to homage the g1 style, but like not the original toy so much as the cartoon animation model. So now the boxy structure is the helmet, even though in this conversion-scheme there's no front-end kibble behind the head to necessitate the boxy structure to line the front end. They just really went all in for cartoon aesthetic, but maybe very slightly less boxy. So now the helmet/box thing kinda passes as a robot mullet combined with that band across the brow.
So, if I'm trying to describe Windcharger in a fanfic, how do I even describe what this bot looks like? I kinda feel like robo-mullet makes a weird amount of sense stylistically, but at the same time, there wouldn't be a structural/functional in-universe need for the helm to be that boxy or for any separate boxy element to stick out/up behind the head. I think retractable black shades/visor would be good so he could have the option of showing optics or not. I guess the chin bit is there, as it's consistent. Maybe, the mask parts are optional, too.

finrod/turgon and “I thought you were dead”?
Thank you for the ask! I got a speech written with this incentive :) Have a little youngish Turgoldo, out for a (foreshadowing) walk in Valinor:
“I thought you were dead! Just a moment to take a peek, you said!” Finrod had a great smear of clay on his cheek, and more mud on his robes, but he was laughing, and Turgon could hardly keep himself from shrieking. He had been waiting by the dark, wet hole in the riverbank for the better part of an afternoon, alternately shouting into it and pacing in circles, tearing at his hair, imagining Finrod pinned under a rockfall or drowned in a subterranean river, and here was his cousin – glowing, in excellent spirits, just delayed! Finrod caught him by the chin with a filthy hand and kissed him long enough to settle him, then sighed. “Oh, Turno, you should see it: blossoms of stone – great pillars like trees – the most delicate, laciest fans of rock, like window-shades or louvered doors! I know Grandfather will not allow us to disturb them, but just imagine: what a wonder it would be if we could truly shape a city underground!”
I'm still taking one-sentence prompts to incentivize myself. Send one in and I'll send you six or so back. :)

Lost, Found, and Rebuilt (The Thief and the Cobbler)
Back in high school I found myself on the lost media side of the internet. It's no secret that there is a lot of lost media out there, some was released then forgotten, others were abandoned. Then there are some examples that were technically released, but are more just a version of the original. This was the first example of lost media I've ever come across, the Thief and the Cobbler.
This is an interesting story. Back in 1964 Richard Williams began work on a film that he planned to be his magnum opus based on a book series from a friend. Seeing the animation in even just the version that was released shows great attention to detail, beautiful animation, and amazing designs. The film was intended to take full advantage of animation. Even the movement of characters is a marvel to look at. You can take nearly any frame and put it up in the louver, it is just a joy to look at.
Here's where the fun part begins, the version of the film that was released to the public came out in 1993, 29 years after production began. What the heck happened? Well a lot of things, time management, lack of funds, complete rewrites, and the original author of the books pulling out due to a fallout. The timeline is also littered with big budget animation films he worked on, like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, smaller movies like Raggedy Anne, and TV ads to pay the bills. Keep in mind that this was largely done by Williams and a team he hired without any studio supervision. Turns out there are some benefits to having a contract, like money.
Eventually Williams did find a publisher in Warner Brothers to fund his project, but he continued to miss deadlines and was booted off of the project. It was then decided to just get the movie out the door to put something out there. The version that the public saw was full of pop culture references, unnecessary narration, musical numbers despite the film not being a musical, and odd gags.
Williams defeated gave up on his masterpiece, but that was not the end of the story. In 2006 the greatest fan project began called the Recobbled Cut. This is a project with the aim to bring back the film in Williams original vision. With connections in the animation industry, this community managed to gather art, clips from DVD's, film, and scripts from studios and people who worked on it. One story says that there was film found in a trash can of all places.
Since 2006 this project has been steadily rebuilding The Thief and the Cobbler from the ground up. Completing scenes that never saw the light of day, restoring old film, and making the colors more vibrant, all of which breathing in new life in this film. The restoration project is currently on its fourth version, available on this YouTube channel, which also has some more works from Richard Williams.
Richard Williams did not talk about the Recobbled Cut, but some people say it had his approval. Williams passed away in 2019 never seeing the film completed, but this film has possibly become one of the greatest things on the internet, despite still being a work in progress.
Quick note:
I got the details for this post from this article, which incidentally directed me to the current version of the Recobbled Cut.

Yes, please post the passage of them just watching TV together! I'd love it so much and would be so grateful. Thank you! I live for all your posts!
💕 Here, from "The tale of the Body Thief":
When I came upon him, all the windows and doors were open to the few simple rooms. He was at his desk, reading by the light of a single candle flame.
For a long moment, I spied upon him. I loved to do this. Often I followed him when he went hunting, simply to watch him feed. The modern world doesn't mean anything to Louis. He walks the streets like a phantom, soundlessly, drawn slowly to those who welcome death, or seem to welcome it. (I'm not sure people really ever welcome death.) And when he feeds, it is painless and delicate and swift. He must take life when he feeds. He does not know how to spare the victim. He was never strong enough for the "little drink" which carries me through so many nights; or did before I became the ravenous god.
His clothes are old-fashioned always. As so many of us do, he finds garments which resemble the styles of his time in mortal life. Big loose shirts with gathered sleeves and long cuffs please him, and tight-fitting pants. When he wears a coat, which is seldom, it is fitted like the ones I choose-a rider's jacket, very long and full at the hem.
I bring him these garments sometimes as presents, so that he doesn't wear his few acquisitions right to rags. I had been tempted to straighten up his house, hang the pictures, fill the place with finery, sweep him up into heady luxury the way I had in the past.
I think he wanted me-to do this, but he wouldn't admit it. He existed without electricity, or modern heat, wandering in chaos, pretending to be wholly content.
Some of the windows of this house were without glass, and only now and then did he bolt the old-fashioned louvered shutters. He did not seem to care if the rain came in on his possessions because they weren't really possessions. Just junk heaped here and there.
But again, I think he wanted me to do something about it. It's amazing how often he came to visit me in my overheated and brilliantly illuminated rooms downtown. There he watched my giant television screen for hours. Sometimes he brought his own films for it on disk or tape. The Company of Wolves, that was one which he watched over and over. Beauty and the Beast, a French film by Jean Cocteau, also pleased him mightily. Then there was The Dead, a film made by John Huston from a story by James Joyce. And please understand this film has nothing to do with our kind whatsoever; it is about a fairly ordinary group of mortals in Ireland in the early part of this century who gather for a convivial supper on Little Christmas night. There were many other films which delighted him. But these visits could never be commanded by me, and they never lasted very long. He often deplored the "rank materialism" in which I "wallowed" and turned his back on my velvet cushions and thickly carpeted floor, and lavish marble bath. He drifted off again, to his forlorn and vine-covered shack.
and:
I slipped into the room, a great glancing shadow, and was already seated in my favorite red velvet bergere- I'd long ago brought it there for myself-opposite him when he looked up.
I highlighted a few passages, because there is a lot in these little paragraphs^^.
Louis comes by, whenever he wants, and only when he wants. He watches movies with Lestat, over and over again (and the stories of these movies are interesting, too^^). Louis has his own movies that he brings to watch with Lestat. Lestat buys him clothes. Lestat has an armchair there where he likes to sit. :)) He watches him feed, and also comes by when he wants. :)
And then, of course, right after these passages... is this:
His beauty has always maddened me. I think I idealize him in my mind when I'm not with him; but then when I see him again I'm overcome.
I know this book isn't for everyone... but there are some very, very beautiful passages in this book (this is far from all) for them :)) And I really want to see them on screeeeeeeen :)))))

This is a mini collection of Cars designs. Now in real life Nascar is used to sell real street cars, so each race car has a street counter part. So I got to thinking, what do the Next gen street car counter parts look like? Here's my interpretation and a bit of background as I decided to turn them into characters.
On the left is Dan Hemi, A Chevy Camaro, the same car type as racers like Tim Treadless and Chase Race-a-lot. Now the splitter had to be decided because it was too dangerous to have the full one on the road. He also doesn't have the wing the next gen racers do as he has no need. He's a bit of a tire destroyer as he's a drag racer. He's quiet but quite powerful. You don't wanna screw with his friends or he'll make you run for the hills.
The one on the right is Blaze, A Ford Mustang, the same car type as Cam Spinner but with the standard 2018 rear wing despite being a dark horse mustang. She's a talented driver and does freelance stunt driver and when she's not sliding around corners or flying over jumps she's studying engine maintenance to keep herself from experiencing failing parts mid stunt. She's not very extroverted but she can hold a conversation. She's earned the nickname "Dragon tail" because of the rear louvers that look like dragon spikes, and the fact she whips around corners like one.
Now I was gonna make a street version of Jackson Storm who I see as a Toyota Camray to round out the current three manufacturers in Nascar Irl, but I realized we have one. Cruz Ramirez. I mean think about it, she has the same front bumper, wears the same spoiler meaning she can fit the next gen spoiler on her, and seems to have similar power output.
Tell me what you think! And sorry about the camera quality.

JUNCTION PRODUCE PREMIUMS
INFINITI Q45(MCM) WIDE BODY PARTS
Junction Produce Premium Infiniti Q45 mc Wide Body Parts
Junction Produce
Premium long-awaited new work
Infiniti Q45 blister!
The last big kit of the year is decided by this
Junction Produce Premium is already making a big break. Junction Produce was newly launched as a brand specializing in wide bodies, and the 20-series Celsior, 10-series Celsior, and Y30 Cima, which were initially announced, seem to be attracting considerable attention. And, as I announced on this page before, the next new work was the Infiniti Q45, but the actual car has been completed, so let's take a look at it right away.
As was the case with the previous three models, the blisters do not protrude so much from the fender. As per the basic concept of this brand, it is a wide body kit that makes the car look bigger. Each part basically inherits the design of the previous Junction, but this 45 has a lot of design added. In particular, the front part has been treated to clearly separate the lip part and the side part, and has a design that has never been seen before in junctions. As a result, the existing 45 aero is changing not only the wide body but also the impression from the front.
The rest of the year is finally coming to an end, but how about 45 owners installing this kit as soon as possible and welcoming the new year with a new version of their favorite car
PIC CAPTIONS
The fenders don't protrude that much, but the space between the front and rear fenders is narrowed, so the blister effect is surprisingly large.
Junction's lineup as a wide body kit will show calmness for the time being with this Q45. This kit, which is currently on the break, is sure to attract attention at year-end and New Year gatherings.
The all-stainless muffler series can be either Type
A scalar developed specifically for this kit. The front is 18×9.5J+12 and the rear is 18×11.5J+6.
The rear fender which is the feature of this kit is beautifully put together
The front has a slightly different surface configuration from this one. The opening has two louvers, and the design has been changed from the existing one.

BAD BUDDY FILMING LOCATIONS 9
This post is a continuation of my eight previous ones on filming locations for Bad Buddy (linked here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7 and Part 8 ), and focuses on one building in particular.
I had originally believed that this location would be quickly found because its appearance in Bad Buddy was so full of distinctive visual details, especially external ones that are particularly helpful in tracking down filming venues.
But it turned out to be another one of those places that was almost impossible to find, and it overturned all my expectations and eluded discovery at every turn. 😮
Of course, I'm talking about the LogTech Building.
(above) Ep.3 [3I4] 13.14
Oh the hubris and the comeuppance! It took me more than nine months, three-quarters of a year, before I could find it. And I think this was only possible because Google Search is getting ever more powerful (ominous music sounding here).
But after months of searching I can now say with certainty that the role of Bad Buddy's LogTech Building was played by Index Creative Village – homebase for the creative agency of the same name – and not only was it the setting for LogTech, another Bad Buddy location also had its home there (but more on that later). 😊
(top) The location of Index Creative Village on plan; (bottom) this image of Index Creative Village's secondary entrance is extracted from a photo on Google Maps by effe relax channel and is dated September 2022 – the bare concrete columns, window framing, potted plants and timber-louvered sunshading are all matching details that can be seen in Bad Buddy
Index Creative Village is known for being an events organizing company in Thailand, but in reality the group engages in all sorts of creative pursuits, including media consulting, communications, multimedia/stage/exhibition design and branding services.
Index's address on their website is 545 Soi Pridi Bhanomyong 42, Sukhumvit 71 Road, Klongton Nuea, Wattana, Bangkok 10110, but Google Maps shows them along Phanit Anan Yeak 12 Alley instead. 🤷♂️ Whichever it is, their map coordinates are 13.73303648651331, 100.60230473624077, not far from the Jasmine 59 Hotel that was the location for Pat's post-graduation apartment (write-up linked here).
(top) Ep.3 [2/4] 4.04 – note the signboard circled in red; (bottom) in this image from an online article (dated 18 April 2013 and linked here), the signboard and white roller blinds of Index Creative Village's on-site café are a match, while the Epipremnum aureum climbing the flanking trees is also a corroborating detail
(top) Ep.3 [2/4] 4.14; (bottom) this statue of a big cat at Index Creative Village (from the same article linked here) matches what we see behind the LogTech receptionist
(top) Ep.3 [2/4] 6.17; (bottom) this screencap at timestamp 2.51 of YouTube video "Index Creative Village มุ่งจัดอีเวนท์แบบไฮบริด ผสมเทคโนโลยีกับชีวิตจริง | Digital Life | SPRiNG" (linked here) shows the meeting room at Index Creative Village and is a match for the Ep.3 [2/4] scene of Pat and Pran presenting the bus stop design to LogTech (corroborating details are the matching chairs, table, curtains and silver column to the left of the projector screen)
(top) Ep.3 [2/4] 6.19, showing LogTech's boss and executives evaluating PatPran's bus stop design; (bottom) this screencap at timestamp 1.53 of the same YouTube video mentioned above (linked here) is also a match – the timber-slatted wall treatment and chairs are the same (the gentleman conducting the meeting is Index Creative Village's founder and CEO Khun Kreingkrai Kanjanapokin)
(above left) LogTech's mermaid and dolphin water feature appear in Bad Buddy at Ep.3 [3I4] 13.14; (above right) Index Creative Village's mermaid and dolphin can be seen in this image extracted from a photo on the company's Facebook dated 6 March 2017 (linked here) – the mermaid must have acquired her sunburn sometime between 2017 and Bad Buddy's filming in 2021
(above left) Ep.3 [3I4] 14.02; (above right) the logo and text that we see behind Pat are the branding for Anya Meditec, which is also located at Index Creative Village
(top left) Ep.3 [3I4] 13.41; (top right) Ep.12 [1I4] 6.11; (bottom) this image dated 5 March 2020 is extracted from a photo on Index Creative Village's Facebook (linked here) and shows their brick feature wall with the word "INDEX" spelt in relief, which is what we see behind behind Pran and Wai in their scenes outside the LogTech Building
(top) Ep.12 [1I4] 5.19; (bottom) Index Creative Village launched a disinfection service (Kill & Klean) at the start of the COVID pandemic – in this photo dated 22 April 2020 from Facebook (linked here) the red 'K' on the monitor (part of the Kill & Klean logo) can also be seen on the disinfection system (targeting footwear and lower legs) behind Pat at Ep.12 [1I4] 5.19, while the giant taro plant (Alocasia macrorrhizos, I think) in its dragon urn at the left of the image also matches what we see to Pat's left
There are many, many other corroborating images for LogTech – too many to post here, but you can view them on Google Maps as well as Index Creative Village's Facebook and Instagram.
But that's not all. Index Creative Village was also the setting for one more location – and that was Pran's architectural office in Singapore. 👍
(above) Ep.12 [1I4] 5.07
There are a number of visual details in the screencap above that reveal more information about its filming location:
The window framing behind Pran is all vertical.
Outside the window we can see another wing of the building with the same vertical window treatment (and it matches the glass wall design that we see at Ep.3 [3I4] 13.14) – what we can deduce is that the building is somewhat U-shaped here, enclosing a kind of courtyard.
There is some type of green planting in the courtyard (either a tree or some very tall bushes) – just visible through the legs of Pran's table.
To the right of Pran, the top portion of what looks like a curved or spiral staircase can be seen beyond the window.
Above the staircase, we can see the geometric segments of a membrane canopy.
At the top left of the image, we can see a structural beam connecting the two wings of the building at the roofline.
The following images of Index Creative Village contain corroborating details:
(top left) This aerial view of Index Creative Village from Google Maps shows its courtyard with a membrane canopy, highlighted by the dotted red circle; (top right) this close-up of the spiral staircase in the courtyard is from a photo dated 16 June 2017 on the company's Facebook, linked here; (bottom) this screencap from YouTube video "คอลัมน์ Marketing 3.0 ตอน Content vs Contact" at timestamp 0.01 (linked here) shows Index Creative Village CEO Khun Kreingkrai Kanjanapokin descending the spiral staircase with the courtyard tree, vertical window framing and connecting structural beam all visible behind him
Another view of Index Creative Village can be seen from the elevated Chalong Rat Expressway to the east:
(above left) Index Creative Village's east façade as at September 2022, viewed from Chalong Rat Expressway using Google Maps Street View; (above right) this close-up (unavoidably grainy though) shows the mid-level courtyard with its two-and-a-half story tall tree, spiral staircase on the left and fabric canopy partially hidden behind the framing red beam that connects one wing to the other at the roofline
One thing that the filming at Index Creative Village shows is that the production team tried as much as possible to shoot all related scenes within the location chosen as their setting – both the internal and external LogTech scenes were filmed at Index Creative Village.
We saw this also at the Jindapat and Siridechawat houses (with the inside and outside of Mason Studio used for indoor and outdoor scenes at Pat and Pran's family homes; see this write-up linked here), as well as at Pat's faculty (write-up linked here) and most of Pran's faculty (write-up linked here). The high school scenes were also all shot at the Satit Bilingual School.
There are only two composited locales that I can recall. The first is the scene where Pat goes to pass a thumb drive to Pran (Ep.5 [1I4], starting from timestamp 6.39 – the faculty location morphs from the RSU College of Engineering to the RSU Student Center at timestamp 7.35 even though it's all supposed to be taking place at the same building). The second is Uncle Tong's Zero Waste Village in episodes 6 and 11, although that made-up location was nevertheless all filmed within the seaside district of Hua Hin (write-up linked here).
This emphasis on maintaining consistent IRL locations for set locales would have greatly aided the actors in staying within the correct frame of mind for the narrative, and would also have minimized jarring continuity errors (e.g., in wardrobe and hair length).
These issues would have been harder to manage had they filmed exterior scenes outside one building and interior scenes inside another one or in a man-made set (which GMMTV doesn't seem to do for whatever reason – primarily to avoid set construction costs, I would assume).
Not something you'd often think about, but it's one of the things you realize when you look more closely at the filming locations. In my opinion, not filming in artificial sets (no matter how well designed and constructed they may be) certainly adds to the authenticity of the overall visual experience. 👍 Just one more reason why I love Bad Buddy!
[Afterpost Edit – here are the links to all the filming location posts:
Part 1 – The legendary rooftop, PatPran’s student apartments, their high school, the white arches behind the Engineering Canteen, the Zero Waste Village and various seaside scenes, their honeymoon suite, the hospital where Pat was treated for his gunshot graze, and the high school reunion.
Part 2 – Pat and Pran’s family homes, the Flagpole Bar, the car park fight location, and the Jae Si Curry House.
Part 3 – Various locations at and around the rugby field, including Pat’s photoshoot with Ink, the rugby bleachers, the iced milk tea (and green tea wave) picnic table, InkPa’s photography picnic, the old bus stop and the new bus stop. Also Khun Noppharnach’s pharmacy.
Part 4 – Pat’s Engineering Faculty (in and around Rangsit University’s College of Engineering).
Part 5 – Pran’s Architecture Faculty (Rangsity University’s School of Architecture).
Part 6 – Various F&B and commercial locations (eateries, shops, malls and a market). Also the setting for Pat, Pran and Wai's fight at the base of PatPran's student apartment building, as well as the scene where Pa says to Ink "Anyone taller than me is fine".
Part 7 – Pat’s post-graduation apartment and Pran’s residence in Singapore.
Part 8 – Various campus locations filmed within Rangsit University’s Digital Multimedia Complex, including the auditorium and the Freshy Day Song Contest.
Part 9 – The LogTech Building and Pran’s architectural office in Singapore.
Part 10 – Locations for the Our Skyy 2 x Bad Buddy special episodes.
Part 11 – The apartment for rent that Pran went to view in Ep.2, the elevator scene with Pat just after the viewing, and Wai’s apartment.
Part 12 – PatPran’s elementary and high schools, as well as the location of Pa’s near-drowning.
Part 13 – Random locations (Pran searching for his lost earphones, the covered car park where Wai spied on Pat serenading Pran with Nanon's Love Score, the airport car park, the SouthTech U Library, PatPran's rainy day ointment interlude, their motorbike and truck rides in Hua Hin, the approach road to Uncle Yod's bar, the filming location for the music videos Just Friend? and Our Song, and Pran's street address in Singapore).
Will update this list if I can track down the hardware stores – the one remaining location still unidentified! 🤣]

Actually Ed's portrait was part of the Hockney exhibition at LA Louver, which Harry attended in February 2019. There's some photos from that day. So he definitely saw it.

The AM: November 14, 2022
This week's AM leans towards contemporary classical for its first half, exploring some experimental sounds and noisy reinterpretations before Caribou launches the episode into pop territory for its second half. Psych-rock, indie, plenty of Can-con—and any week with new Yo La Tengo is a good week. Enjoy.
