Here is Tsume(soo-may). By some odd chance I rescued him from a “dog ranch” out in Arkansas about two winters ago and paid for shipping so that I could take care of him. He was scared at the time and so was I, going through a really dark time. He’s been my best friend in the entire world/galaxy/universe/etc and I couldn’t be happier.

I HATE being ignored! (Rant)

So anyone who is a gamer knows if you play online it’s always great to be able to communicate with your team to win. Please tell me what the hell is the point of being on a team with a mic if you’re not going to talk to or listen to the entire team? These 2 guys completely ignored my questions and me while I was playing the other night. They absolutely could hear me and ik they could because I could hear MYSELF on one of their TVs. They were talking to each other telling each other where stuff was, where the parts for the shields were, how to get it, but when I chimed in like hey I would like to know these things too. My questions were met with silence or just completely talked over. Like um Hello? Aren’t we all trying to level up here? They were having a good time just being buddy buddy. So I told them if they were just going to sit there and suck each other off then there’s no reason for me to be in the game and left. I don’t know if it was because I’m a female and that somehow am challenging their masculinity or dominance by getting more kills than they did or what but I really HATE being ignored.

Why do I play video games?...(hint: because it’s good for your brain, also I want to.)

Not only do I play video games to relax, I also play video games to have fun. Other than reading books, video games is another escape from reality. Not so much for me that I don’t do ANYTHING else but I have found a pretty good balance of home, school, family, and self. It also helps to release mental aggression. Obviously I can’t just go around punching people in the face whenever they piss me off. As much as I would like that sometimes, it just isn't a possibility if I would like to retain my freedom.  Also that would be A LOT of people. Probably multiple times.

According to an article published by Medical News Today, it’s actually beneficial for your BRAIN! Video games have showed to have a significant influence in certain parts of the brain...in a good way, of course. So don’t believe your Grandma when she says it gives you ADD because you can turn around look Nana dead in her old sad greying eyes and say “NANA! Studies have shown video gamers display improved sustained and selective attentions. I also game with my children sometimes. Although sometimes MineCraft can get pretty intense...we all have fun. My husband and I take turns and watch each other play. I don’t mind watching him play even though I get on his nerves as a “passenger” player. It’s a great way to bond over something we can all get into. Lastly, I’m 29 so that makes me an adult and I’m going to do what makes me happy.
